A year or so has passed since the young hero became the killer “Despair” and we see that Lance has also changed a bit from his heroicness.

Let’s talk about his bad attributes first because they outweigh the good by a longshot. He will probably be one of the most unfriendly people you will ever meet. It is not that he does not want friendship, it is more of the fact that he doesn’t want to hurt anyone he cares about again. He would rather turn people in need a friends away than help them. He is also very abrasive, not caring about how other people feel about his actions or care if he hurts them with his words, leading him to be very blunt about certain things. Building on the last two things he is also very aloof, not caring about friendship and also being just a cold person in general. He also has a habit of not having concern for things, only doing things if it gets him money, stops people from annoying him, or helps him achieve his goals. He is also very unsophisticated in the way he handles things, often times becoming very barbaric in nature. He is not the most loyal person ever meaning if he is on a job and the enemy offers him something greater, he will turn against the original person to get a better reward because to him “The ends will justify the means.”  He is very calm and will almost never go out of control or get excited about something so he will never annoy anyone. He is also very contemplative and logical. He tends to think out situations before acting upon them. This stops him from getting into a bad situation without having a possible way out if need be. Lance is also a very smart person as well, building elaborate contraptions and weapons out of scrap metal and rusty parts. Lastly he is a very daring person, which is a good and bad thing, this means he is willing to do anything and everything to achieve his goal and this is mainly because he has no will to live anymore so he is willing to put his life on the line.

Now he does still have some of the past in him still, albeit deep down inside of him. I will write this here in case I want to revert him back to his former self. Deep down Lance is actually a very genuine and caring person when it comes to the people he cares about. He used to be someone who was willing to help anyone in need and deep down he still is, he just doesn't want to accept that there is still good in him.  The main reason he wants to take down Famine is because he knows that she was too good of a person to share his fate. The reason he isn’t friendly with anyone is because he doesn’t want anyone he cares about to get hurt the way he hurt his last partner, that is something he will never forgive himself for. He used to love to laugh and have fun with people but it is hard to get that out of him now.

In battle, he is actually quite barbaric, willing to kill anything and everything in order to get his reward. He might have some problems with it deep down but he chooses not to acknowledge them.



Likes:

• Thunder Storms - He finds peace with the storms.
  
• Being Alone - Even though he puts up a cold front and tries to scare everyone around him away, he only wants to be alone because he doesn’t want to hurt anyone else. As long as the people he cares about are far away from him, he is happy.
  
• Animals - Through his cold exterior one thing shine, his love for animals. You will never see a grown man break out of his roughness faster.
  
• Alcohol - It manages to take some of the pain he feels away.
  

Dislikes:

• Children - More Specifically, loud and annoying children. He can’t handle loud things in general.    
  
• Scientists - In his eyes, they are the reason that he became Despair in the first place. He has lived through test after test in the past year or so.      
  
• His Uncle -  Tying into the scientist thing, his uncle has ruined his life and scarred him permanently. He tried to take down his uncle’s organization once in the past and ended up messing up himself and the one he loved.
  
• The Darkness - He has been in the dark all of his life and it's time for a change.
  

Motivations:

• Taking down his Uncle - He has vowed to take down his uncle once and for all so that he can maybe once more live in peace.      
  
• Becoming himself again - Even though he does not acknowledge it and even doubts it, really deep down he wants to go back to the way he was before.          
  
• Magic - This means two things, He is interesting in finding out how magic works and the extent that magic can go as well as gaining his own magic strength back after being weakened and shunned by the shadow kings.
  

Fears:

• His Past - His past is what is stopping him from doing anything that will lead him to his goals.          
  
• Needles - Also tying into the scientist thing, he is terrified of needles and tries to stay away from them at all costs.    
  
• Thunder - For really no reason, he has always been terrified of thunder and even though he has adopted a cold look on life and became rough, this fear never went away.

Appearance: Lance is a tall and lengthy figure. Despite the fact that he looks scrawny from afar, underneath his clothes lies a nice looking body. He isn’t to muscular but he does have a clean six pack. His skin is a pale as snow. He has a special red symbol on his hand that allows him to summon creatures. A flaw is that his whole body is riddles with multiple scars in places. For clothing, he usually wears a black turtleneck-like baggy shirt with a black fuzzy coat. The coat has white fur in the hood.

Lance is a very cheerful and outgoing person, he will talk to and be “Friends” pretty much anyone regardless of their origins or affiliations. “Friends” is a term that is taken very lightly with him as he refers to everyone (Excluding his obvious enemies) as his friends. He thinks that everyone should be given a chance before he decides whether he likes them or not. Although most of the time his “Friendships” could come off as him playing with toys because of how tricky and even downright careless he can be about his allies in battle. On top of that he is a very playful man, loving to pull pranks and sneak around tricking people. It takes a while but ones someone proves their worth to him he will become nicer and more respectful of them, like a genuine friend, these are some of the only times glimpses of his past self-emerge.

He is also a very smart person and loves to teach people about animals and nature if they are interested. Once given a job, he will do all that he can to complete it, being very dutiful. He also seems to lack fear of a lot of things, willing to take all kinds of jobs because he is a man who loves adventuring and finding treasure.

Lance is an all-around dangerous person to be associated with purely based on how sneaky and destructive he can be. He lives off chaos and loves to wreak havoc whenever he feels like it. Due to his over-the-top nature, he tends to take battles way too far and his pranks way to far, often times killing people with no remorse, and the thing is, he loves it. He is downright insane and lacks morals when it comes to getting jobs done and making money, anyone who stands in his way, no matter who, will be cut down. He also finds joy in “Making things disappear” which could also be known as stealing.

Overall though, he is really just a spirit that loves to have fun. He really doesn’t know better.
