Post by Zincarla 1st May 2018, 1:15 pm

Yona Hisamori had used up plenty of her magical reserves to heal herself and then made offers to heal Kyran as well. They had just gone through a hell of a fight and one intense experience. Kyran had saved her from being exploded to death, though she could have saved herself. Then they had an oddly playful then oddly nasty exchange of words. Finally, nearly losing the client and facing a horde of poison-breathing skeletons had put them both into a situation where Yona had protected Kyran, though of course he could taken care of himself. The thing was, as much as she could recall, it did not much look like he planned to do so. She saved his life perhaps not only from the skeletons, but perhaps from himself. She didn't dwell too much on it, regarding him with a wary eye from where she leaned upon the railing.

Yona loved sailing and taking the boat home, the long journey placing them back on Divide Island in the middle of the night, was a fair way to clear one's head. She looked over at him and considered his words: from almost friends, to partners, to something akin to disdain, Yona was still drastically puzzled by his behavior. Weirdly enough, knowing that he had a demon inside him named Ahriman, a monstrous wolf creature with great strength, made it somewhat easier to handle his rejection of her. She wondered about what she had seen in silence: did Ahriman and Kyran share his body equally? Was Ahriman evil? Would he have harmed Yona? For that matter, when she thought of the time when Kyran had grown wings and protected her from the booby-trapped mine field of a hallway, the green haired woman bit her lip. Did he have more than one demon inside of him? It sounded complicated and she felt sympathy to an extent. At least her body was her's and her's alone.

When Yona replayed the night's events, rubbing her arms in the chilly night air, her emerald eyes turned towards the dark sea. He had teased her in exchange for cutting her down, asking for a favor and telling her to call him Key. And then she had teased him back, making mention of his wings and horns. Now that she thought about it in this light, that was probably what set him off. Not that she knew why or how, Yona had only known that Kyran could change shape. She assumed it was his magic ability. Yona never would have guessed that she would have touched on such a complicated issue. Demons and body sharing was awfully personal, and had she known of course the young woman would not have commented. But come on, Yona thought, everyone's magic was different! How was she to know!?

Yona glanced over at him again and sighed. He just had to forgive her. She didn't know why she was trying so hard. Maybe it was because she never had gotten close to people and the experience of near death made her not want to lose a guy who obviously had her back. Yona liked a few other guild members as well, especially Johann despite his beating, but Kyran wasn't her teacher. Kyran was more like an equal. Yona decided to try to extend the olive branch and break the silence, the dock of Divide Island clearly in sight now. "Hey, Key," She said, testing his nickname out on her lips, gauging his response, "Want to grab something with me? Like food or drinks or something.. I mean.. yes. Shall we?" Wow, that came out weird.

Post by Kyran 10th May 2018, 10:44 pm

Kyran spent most of the boat ride home glowering out at the sea. He kept his distance from Yona, staying as far away as he possibly could. He hadn't handled the job well at all. That's an understatement of the year. Medea giggled. Kyran couldn't stop himself from growling at her. It brought a few stares from other passengers. It was too close. The moon, the day, the month, it was all putting him on edge. He shouldn't have gone on the job in the first place. What Yona must think of him now. He had snapped at her without provocation. He wouldn't be surprised if she wasn't all that happy with him at the moment. Confusion probably ruled the younger mage's head trying to figure out where she had gone wrong. Kyran wanted to make it up to her but wasn't sure how. How did one repair the rift in a budding friendship?

He couldn't help raising an eyebrow when Yona reached out to him. This would be the perfect opportunity, yes? And she was extending the hand. Kyran shrugged. "I'll eat something with you but I won't drink. You can drink if you want to. Alcohol just...doesn't agree with me." The lie in his voice would have made it obvious if it wasn't in his expression. Kyran didn't drink for good reason. Last time he had...didn't end well. He shuddered slightly pushing away the memory. "Shall we go to the Traitor's Spot, miss Hisamori? I've heard it has the best food and is a good place to drink as well." That should help mend the gap. He was offering a place for her eating food thing. The demons laughed raucously within his mind. They probably thought his fumbling was hilarious.

Kyran scowled unintentionally before looking towards the docks. They were getting closer. When they reached the docks, Kyran led the way to the tavern he had suggested. The place was mostly empty this early in the morning. Luckily it was a 24 hour pub. Kyran held out a chair for Yona. Yeah watch that pert ass slid into that seat. Don't you just wanna see it shining red while you're-- Kyran snarled, his hands clamping down on the back of the seat. The wood creaked under the pressure and Kyran's eyes flickered through a few colors. He closed his eyes to get himself back under control. "I apologize. I shouldn't have snarled at you." Kyran said to Yona, his posture as well as his voice rather stiff. He didn't want her misunderstanding his sudden outburst.

"The Traitor's Spot? I didn't think it was any good, but then again I have never been." Yona realized her manners after the fact and had the grace to blush a little in embarrassment. She joined him in walking and noticed him scowling at the docks. "Well, I think it'll suit the occasion just fine anyway. It's a good suggestion and I don't have one better, that's for sure." Yona uttered a small laugh, hoping to reduce her own unease. Hopefully, Kyran didn't mind her lack of manners and his attempts to make a kind offer. Who knew extending an olive branch could be so awkward and challenging?

When they walked into the establishment, the green haired mage was unsurprised to find it akin to a sailor's pub, decor consisting mainly of various types of wood: wooden sculptures, old wooden masts, new wooden wheels, and even the tables and chairs were made of a worn well used wood. To it's benefit, Yona doubted the place would see such business to wear down wooden chairs unless it was worth the money. When Kyran pulled out a chair for her and then snarled, she hid her own expression under a veil of nonchalance. She could be very good at that if she wanted to. Yona simply took a seat and let him push her in as a sign of kindness and chivalry.

Even as she apologized, mostly the woman felt concern for him. Living with at least two demons inside of his body had to be strenuous; she could barely maintain dealing with her own self. "No need, it's been a long day. You're probably just in need of some food and rest." She said forgivingly. "I just want a glass of sweet red wine and some pub fries." Then the young female laughed, pushing the conversation right along. "Is that weird? Fries and wine? I swear, it's a killer combination." She rubbed her neck in a sleepy fashion, somewhat nervous.

Kyran shrugged leaning forward on the table. His hands were clasped together, the knuckles white from the pressure he was exerting. The demons were getting rowdy in this place. Erebus sensed the potential for mischief. Malinda could scent the lust in the few patrons that happened to be about. The lust seemed to be focused on Kyran and Yona. Ahriman felt the violence skating just under the surface and Medea took everything as a challenge. This place was a feast for the beasts. Why had he thought this would be a good idea? Kyran tried to focus his mind on what Yona was saying.

"It doesn't seem all that strange to me but then I've never had it." Kyran managed to grit out. As he peered over his hands at Yona, his eyes flickered through a variety of colors. Kyran raised a hand to summon a waitress. Quietly, he ordered for Yona leaving out anything for himself. He wasn't sure he could manage to stomach anything at the moment. Awww the poor baby can't handle the wittle demons in his head. Medea purred as she arched against his mind. Kyran struggled to control his reaction. He wasn't in the mood to play with the demons in any way. "I may not be good company tonight, miss Hisamori. I hope you can forgive any rudeness on my part."

Malinda slithered up behind Kyran's eyes. Come now, hostie. A little caressing from you and she'll be melting. She would forgive you anything. The snake hissed. Kyran almost attacked the person that accidentally brushed against his back in that moment. Though truth be told, he would have done that anyway. Growling softly, Kyran settled back into his chair. "It might be better to cut this little excursion short, miss Hisamori. I might hurt someone otherwise."

Post by Zincarla 20th May 2018, 2:39 pm

Yona watched him for a moment and noted how politely he raised his hand to order for her. She smiled at the kind gesture, most men weren't so chivalrous and most also did not battle for control in their own minds. "Thanks," She remarked, acknowledging him. The nineteen year old watched his eyes as they changed color, it was actually quite beautiful, but based on his posture Yona doubted he was enjoying himself at all in the least. "I find your company better than most others, Key." She told him, "Honestly, I think most people in the guild avoid me." She gave a shrug of a smile and then saw the waitress heading in their direction from across the tavern.

When Kyran considered bailing out early, she knew just why. It was not a hard guess at all. This place had been his choice, but she bet he missed the fact that the air was ripe with sin and demons in the first place. Well, maybe not literal demons the way Kyran was struggling, but surely plenty of opportunities for demons to enjoy themselves. Reigning them in likely took more strength than what he had after such a hard job. When the waitress reached them, Yona looked at Key and then at the waitress. The brunette carried a basket of hot fresh fries, a bottle of wine, and a small half cup made of glass, chipped around the edges to the table. "We are going to pay our bill now, and just take that whole bottle if you don't mind." Yona pulled out her purse and quickly put some money on the table. "I'm giving you just a bit extra so we can eat outside. It is a little... excitable in here tonight." The waitress looked like she wanted to argue, saw the coin on the table and then nodded, "No problem, miss."

Yona took the bottle, cup and fries from the woman, and watched her walk away. Her green eyes settled back on Kyran, "What do you say we eat on the dock then? Right under the stars?" It was clear she didn't want to cut anything short but if he insisted, she wouldn't blame him.

Post by Kyran 24th May 2018, 11:32 pm

Kyran couldn't help laughing a little at Yona's response. Why would anyone in the guild avoid her? And how could his company be better than most? "I'm not a sociable person, Ms. Hisamori. I'm not sure how my company could be much better than say, Ada or Johann. They would be better company than I ever could be." He couldn't really comment on the other guild members avoiding her. He didn't know if they actually did or not and Kyran wasn't one to lie simply to make someone feel better. Honesty was always a better course of action than dishonesty. The demons hissed at that thought. He was glad the waitress brought a break in the conversation. There was no telling what the demons might do at this point.

A small noise escaped Kyran's mouth when Yona put coin on the table. This was supposed to be his treat. He didn't like that she was paying even if he hadn't gotten anything. His mouth stayed shut however. He wasn't going to berate his guildmate in front of a waitress. Kyran gave Yona a terse nod when she suggested going out under the stars. That didn't sound so bad. He also wouldn't admit it but he wanted to make a friend. Ada was kind of a friend but there was a bit of an issue between the two of them.

Kyran led the way out to the docks, to a small area he had found in his first week here. "Was there a reason for this, Ms. Hisamori?" He asked bluntly. Malinda slithered across his mind/ She wants you, boy. She brought you to a secluded place with alcohol. Kyran shook his head as discretely as he could manage. He wanted to focus on Yona's answer. "If you brought me out here to jerk me around, I'll suggest that you do not. That would end poorly for both of us and I would rather not hurt a guild mate."

Post by Zincarla 27th May 2018, 5:57 pm

Yona stepped out into the fresh air, stretching her arms, one hand holding fries and a glass while the other held a bottle of wine. She inhaled and exhaled dramatically, taking in the starry sky, the glittering dark waves, and the fresh scent of brine in the air. The smell of stinking fish lingered only slightly and the dock was clean enough to sit on. Nobody else was on it at this time of night. Yona took a seat at the end of the dock, her legs swaying off the edge of the wooden slats, the toes of her boots just inches over the water. "Now this is better don't you think? It was a bit crowded in there."

She set all her things down on the dock and patted the spot next to her, gesturing for him to sit. She wasn't sure what he meant by jerk him around or things ending badly, but him harming her was as clear as glass. Still, Yona had no concerns evident on her face- she trusted him now that she understood how much he had to deal with. It was just one of those things- if he said he needed space, then she would need to give him space. It wasn't a real challenge, just something she needed to do, everyone had their quirks. She plucked up a salty fry and then started opening the bottle, struggling with the cork. She gripped the glass bottle in each hand and pulled, twisting the cork, groaning a bit as she did. She paused and gave a light laugh, "Come now, Key. You would not hurt me. I know that even if you don't." She gave him a smile but in her mind's eye she recalled the way he had punched himself in the head to stop a violent demon from going after her.

Even in that state of mind, even in that state of difficulty, Key had managed to wrest control. He might not be able to do it every time, but Yona believed he would always try his hardest and that was enough for her. "Can you open this... maybe? Please?" The green haired woman asked him.

Drinks After Work Empty Re: Drinks After Work

Post by Kyran 29th May 2018, 4:36 am

Kyran had to admit the outdoors, here on the docks was better. The sea air coming in from the vast blue ocean seemed to calm most of the demons. Malinda still pressed against Kyran's skin, trying her best to take over and ravage Yona. Kyran felt comfortable enough to sit next to Yona. "There was barely five people in there, Yona." Kyran rumbled looking down into the water. He felt a little awkward unsure of what to do at this point. Did they apologize to each other? Make nice but secretly hate each other? Kyran wasn't sure what to make of the situation they were in.

When Yona said he would never hurt her, Kyran grimaced in the face of her smile. "I said the same about several people, Yona. I hurt every single one of them. Not to mention there are different ways to hurt someone. If I'm too far gone, I can't stop myself. I won't want to because..." He trailed off. In that case, he'd be out of control of his body. One of the demons would take hold, making sure he couldn't stop them. At least not until they exhausted themselves. "Don't...trust me like that. It'll make it hurt worse when I do hurt you, accidental or not." Kyran didn't want to cause this girl any more pain. He recognized the pain she carried around. It reminded him of himself. He carried around a lot of pain, from both memory and guilt.

Kyran easily popped the top of the bottle and handed it back to Yona. "Are you a reader, Yona?" He asked reaching into his bag. Withdrawn from it was a small book. The art on the front was a stylized rising black phoenix. "Ever heard of the Dark Phoenix series? I'm... a personal friend of the author. It's gaining in popularity these days and I would love to have someone to share it with." This was a part of himself he didn't often reveal to people. Then again, he'd never really been close enough to anyone to reveal it. Maybe Ada but she had hurt him real bad by her ignoring his terrible past. Otherwise he might have revealed it to her. "You don't have to read it if you don't like reading. I tend to get excited over books and forget some people don't like them so much." He smiled sheepishly at the green haired mage.

Post by Zincarla 31st May 2018, 5:33 pm

Yona munched on a couple fries while he dealt with the bottle and replied to her. She found that having a mouth full was an easy cop out to having to argue with him about trust or pain or anything like that. Yona knew she couldn't convince him and it was just as unlikely that he would change her mind about it. It was better to just move on, and Yona was fine with that too. She took the bottle with a quick thanks and poured it into her glass. It was a dark red and she smiled, noting that the difference between the color of wine and the color of the ocean waves was barely detectable. She was tempted to prank Kyran, but maybe another night. He did like pranks he had said, but maybe not on him after a long hard job.

She sipped off the top as he reached into his bag and pulled out a book. Yona took it from him with an interested expression. "I haven't read much fiction since I was young, but I used to love reading. I used to read with Sato all the time." She smiled happily, taking another drink and setting the glass down. She flipped through the pages in the moonlight, catching bits and pieces of dialogues and descriptions. It was written with good flourish- not so much that it was cliche, just enough for the sake of hooking the reader in. "I would love to read it. I haven't heard of it yet." She closed the book and put it on her lap. For a moment, she simply stared at the binding of the book, thinking about her little brother. He used to sit beside her or sometimes even on her lap. She hadn't thought of the memory in a long time, but as happy as it was, it was a painful recollection. She took a sip of wine. "I didn't know that you liked books so much. I read almost every day, myself. How do you know the author?" Yona asked curiously, trying to keep up a conversation. Sure, she was interested, but hopefully she wasn't boring Key.

Post by Kyran 1st June 2018, 10:42 pm

Kyran gave Yona a curious look when she mentioned she had read to someone named Sato. "Sato?" He asked carefully. There was something about the way she said the name or in her expression that told him to tread carefully. Sato had probably been beloved and something bad had happened to him. Kyran let Yona talk, watching the horizon as he listened. He should probably say something. That was what you did in this situation yes? His attention however was held by a creature breaking the surface in the distance. Was it a dragon? A whale? Maybe a mixture of both? It was impossible to tell before it slipped beneath the waves again. Kyran felt the usual thrill he always felt at seeing something new. His child-like tendency satisfied, the redhead turned to Yona.

"Uh..." Kyran said scratching the back of his head. He was going over what she had said again in his mind. "Well you may not hear of it in common circles. It is a romance adventure. Still I like the twists it takes, not only with the plot but with the characters themselves." He had to force himself to stop before he began gushing about the book. It might reveal a little too much and he hated spoilers. "Anon is a close personal friend. We've known each other for so long, I can't remember when we actually met or how." The practiced lie rolled off his tongue. No one needed to know that Anon was really Kyran. He didn't want the fame this book series would afford him. That wasn't why he had written it. He wanted to turn away from that conversation though. Too many questions always started poking holes in his deceit.

"I don't tend to tell many people that I read. When I was younger...it wasn't exactly a good thing to read every day as I do." That was an understatement. His mother had always told him animals shouldn't read. His older brother said trash had no use for reading. Those two had always taken his books away. Kyran put a knee up and rested his chin on it. His gaze had returned to the ocean but his expression was no longer blank. This time he had a ghost of a smile.

It seemed odd that he had not been able to remember how he met Anon. Yona remembered everyone, or so she thought. She supposed that if she did not remember if she forgot someone then she wouldn't rightly be able to say. She turned the book over in her hand and nodded her head as she was listening to him describe it. Yona hadn't really read any fiction so she couldn't tell if it was going to be enjoyable or not, but at the least she could give it a try. Gods knew she could use a little romance and a little softness in her life. "Well, if you like it, I am sure I will too. I doubt you would go for anything truly boring." She chuckled and set the book down behind her with a smile.

She looked down at the water as it splashed against the dock. Yona breathed in deep and then exhaled. She hadn't answered him when he asked about Sato but the last thing she wanted was to put up walls right now either. She had brought it up and if she shut him down, he might just leave. Why the hell was making friends so hard? After what seemed like forever, but was probably less than a minute Yona gave him an answer. "Sato is my little brother. I don't have a picture of him or anything of his, but I can describe him. He's short, black messy hair, and his hands and knees were always dirty." She chuckled, "Plus, he always wanted to be just like me and my dad." The green haired woman lifted her cup and fully drained the rest of it. You were supposed to sip wine, but she felt like she just needed that a bit. If her lips were going to get all loose on her, then her mind needed a break, too.

Kyran looked away from Yona when she said he probably didn't go for anything boring. "You have no idea how much I crave boring. I..." Kyran shut his mouth on his suddenly loose tongue. Why was he revealing anything to this woman? He didn't know her. He wasn't even sure he could really trust her. He crossed his arms, resting his chin on them as his knees came up to support it all. Why was he here? Was he trying to make friends? That didn't work for him. It never did. It never would. Making friends is easy, my sweet. Malinda hissed in his ear. All you have to do is let me show you. A little roll between the sheets never hurt anybody. Kyran could feel his eyes change to a deep purple, the pupils becoming like a cat's. Malinda was close to the surface. He could feel her just beneath his skin. "Boring would be better but I'd settle for normal" Kyran muttered, meant more for himself. He had temporarily forgotten about Yona.

His ears were attentive as Yona spoke about her brother. He reached out a hand carefully and rested it on her shoulder. No one just chugged wine after talking about their brother like that. Well he knew a couple people that might but he wanted to be optimistic with Yona. If he was wrong, Kyran hoped that she would let him know. "I'm sorry." His voice was soft as he uttered his condolences. He felt as if he needed to give something in return. "My siblings hated me. Well most of them did. I had seven at one point." He pulled his shirt high enough to show Yona the scars on his back. There were a myriad of them, different lengths and sizes. "One of them encouraged my girlfriend to do this to me. I thought it was normal. A sibling's prank. It wasn't until my teacher saw them that I was told differently..." Kyran suspected the air off the ocean was loosening his tongue. Or perhaps it was the demons, subtly working inside him. There was no way to tell. Kyran was on this ride now all the way until the end.

Drinks After Work Empty Re: Drinks After Work

Post by Zincarla 4th June 2018, 10:17 pm

Yona found herself drawn out of her own miserable thoughts when Kyran began to stir. He touched her shoulder and she lifted her head with a light sigh. A soft breeze moved through her hair as she pressed the bottle straight to her lips. Oh, Sato. Her mind started down a painful course unbidden, though interrupted when Key started to lift his shirt. She drank until it was fully off and then unplugged the wine bottle from her mouth with a hollow sloshing echo.

The last time she saw him shirtless was during the job, briefly, and she hadn't paid any mind at all to his scars then. She was preoccupied with him saving her life and putting his life in danger for it. She reached out a delicate hand, her fingers cold from the wine bottle she had had to place down on the dock beside her, and rested it on his back. It was done without hesitation or fear or consideration. "Out of suffering have emerged the strongest souls; the most impressive characters are seared with scars," Yona said to him looking to him, trying to match his gaze to her's so that he would know she was being genuine. Her tongue felt loose and silly, but her words came out better than she had hoped. She moved slowly backwards, scooting backwards to give Kyran a quick buzzed hug from behind, but one that was no less meaningful from a woman who did not easily embrace others.

She rested her forehead on his back with a sigh and then sat up straighter, "I hope you know that you didn't deserve it. They sound like real gong-farmers, if you know what I mean," She suddenly let out a laugh, without really meaning to. She grabbed up the bottle and got to her feet with a sway. "Let me show you, I have scars too!" Yona undid her pants and kicked them off with the help of her free hand, revealing in the moonlight that from her hips down her body was covered with dark red streaks, almost as if her skin were alien-esque. It was gnarled and ugly to behold but drunk Yona didn't care as much as sober Yona. And Yona in either case wanted to show Kyran that she could be vulnerable in exchange for his vulnerability.

So there the green haired woman stood, her long green hair blowing across her face, her tangled pants half on the dock and half dipped in the water. A woman as alluring as her had little concern for what others though of her actions. There was nothing but her plain black underwear and her smooth white wraps over her chest to be seen beneath the billowing of her large white coat: an impressive representation of a mage in the WFTC. "Now we both stripped down and we are even." She meant it both literally and figuratively, but didn't spend time explaining that at all. Instead, she lifted her bottle to her lips again, thinking to herself. Sato, that burning building, I should have lost my legs altogether. I should have lost my life.

Post by Kyran 6th June 2018, 10:26 pm

Kyran froze as Yona pressed herself against his back. He wondered if the scales going up and down his spine bothered her at all. They were clearly not natural. Malinda whined My scales are beautiful! You're just jealous all you have is flesh! Kyran's lips quirked at that. Who would have thought the lust snake would be sensitive about her scales? Feel those breasts? Damn this girl should get laid. By us. Malinda hissed. Kyran tried to find his tongue again. "Yet the sweetest sorrow is known by those who have known pain." He murmured putting a hand briefly over Yona's. He wanted to tear it away should he lose it. It was hard for him to have people touch him so casually. Even something so simple as a hug made him want to scream. Kyran only tolerated it because Malinda dulled his senses somewhat. An odd correlation for a lust demon. You would think one would make you more sensitive.

An eyebrow was raised when Yona seemed excited over her own scars. The shock of her pants flying off allowed Malinda to take full control. The snake wasted no time, striking while she could. Kyran's hands swept around Yona. Malinda moved them toward Yona's butt yet Kyran managed to plant them firmly on her thighs instead. He found his ability to fight Malinda surprising. Maybe he had more control than he thought. Yona had also drunk more than he thought. Malinda pressed Kyran's lips against the scars on Yona's inner thigh. Kyran used that moment to punch the demon in the side of the head, effectively knocking her out. The red head gazed up at Yona. "Your scars are beautiful, Yona. They are a testament to your life. Never be ashamed of them." Kyran wished he had more scars to show the woman as his eyes turned back to their normal blue, the scales disappearing. He had suffered for a lifetime but had no scars to show for it. Well not many scars. His hands involuntarily tightened on Yona's thighs. He wanted to drink. Getting into all this mushy stuff was hard for him. Alcohol might make it easier. The question was could he risk it with the demons?

He seemed more at ease, though Yona could sense his uncertainty. And then he grabbed her by the thighs and kissed them and her mouth had hung open like a fish out of water. Which is exactly how she felt in this situation. Yona had gotten into minor physical romances, relationships that drifted in and out like the tide, here one day and gone the next. She barely recalled their faces, and had no qualms about it either. The way he grabbed her, Yona could practically feel the desire rippling off of him and she tensed up slightly. With Kyran, it would be a whole different story. He was her friend, he was her partner, he was a guild member. It was a poor decision to respond in a likewise physical manner, even if her whole body was intrigued in doing so. He would not be a man to play romantic games with. And then in the light, Yona saw the eyes of her friend change, and she relaxed. Whoever it was that had grabbed and kissed her, it was not Key and that drastically de-complicated the situation.

Yona had no desire to make Kyran feel worse than he likely did for the demons' actions. When he tightened his grip and implored her to see her scars as a beautiful testament of hardship, she felt both gratitude and a bit sick inside. Her scars were not beautiful. They were a reminder that she had lived through that fire. A reminder also that her family did not survive the blaze. Every time she saw those dark red streaks, it was a painful push forward to remember that only while alive could she get her revenge. She took the bottle from her lips, and pushed it into Key's mouth as he looked up at her. And with his mouth preoccupied on the last glass amount of the wine in the bottle, Yona answered him. She didn't want a reply, hence the bottle, but she couldn't stop the words from coming out of her either.

"I'm not ashamed," Yona gave him a half smile, appreciating his concern the same way she had given her's. "But they aren't beautiful Kyran. I have tried many times to--" No, don't tell him that, she thought biting on her lip hard. Nobody will never know about those times. Her face looked stronger as she forced out the words to explain herself. "My family is dead because I could not protect them. Sato needed me and I was not there," Yona amended hastily. Her words came out just a bit slurred, by emotion and by the drink. "It is my sole duty to repair that mistake and that is what these burns tell me. I say we drink to the future, and may my future bring both justice and peace." She patted his head once, and then looked embarrassed.

"Sorry," She apologized, "Must be the alcohol giving me a loose tongue. I hope I didn't offend you; you don't really have to drink." Still, Yona hadn't pulled away from him, though her hand did reach out to take the bottle away from him, feeling guilty about shoving it into his mouth in the first place. The edge of the dock less than six inches behind her was a partial deterrent, but really Yona didn't want him to feel responsible for her bizarre behaviors or emotional compromise. He had seen her lose her emotions, when it came to temper, but on the brink of fear or tears, she could only think of the day that she had joined WFTC as far as anyone seeing that.

Drinks After Work Empty Re: Drinks After Work

Post by Kyran 24th June 2018, 2:36 am

Kyran could hear the distress in Yona's voice. He could see the slight emotional shifts as she struggled with whatever it was. The pat on his head was strange almost like he was a puppy. Kyran fought with the ugly memories that tried to rise. The focus was Yona right now. Her issues, her problems. He had a feeling this was something she usually tried to hide and the drinking wasn't helping. The bottle was almost empty now however. Key yanked it out of her hand, tossing it into the ocean as he stood up. "Enough of that. You're staying in my room tonight too so I can be sure you don't die in your sleep. Don't argue with me. I'll win." He lifted her into his arms, cradling her like something precious. Kyran grabbed her pants along with anything else they might need as he headed back toward HQ.

"The skin on my arms may be smooth but I should have scars up and down them." Kyran said softly dwelling upon what she had stopped herself from saying. The obvious break in her sentence then the change to something similar but different had made that change obvious to him. Writing helped him pick up on those little things. Or Yona was drunk enough to not be as good as she usually was. "Not only were my arms repeatedly broken or whipped until they bled but I cut them multiple times to try and numb the pain." Kyran faltered, missing a step as he climbed the stairs. This wasn't exactly easy for him to talk about. Only Ada knew everything. That hadn't ended well either. "Yona... don't beat yourself up for surviving. Judging by your scars, you were pinned and couldn't do anything. At least you didn't cause the deaths of..." Kyran cut himself off. That was not something she needed to know.

Kyran laid Yona down in his bed when they reached his quarters. He hadn't talked for the rest of the journey. Looking down at her, a mischievous smile curled upon his lips. "Do you need a goodnight kiss? Maybe a teddy bear? Perhaps a cup of water?" Kyran teased, his hand smoothing the hair out of Yona's face. He felt something stirring within him. Not his demons for once but rather a protective feeling. Something he'd once felt, long ago. It scared him. His feelings had been played with once too many. Kyran wasn't sure if he could trust Yona not to play with them. He wanted to trust her but her confession, her revelations had been influenced by the amount of booze she had drunk. There was no telling if she actually trusted him. That was something Kyran would have to find out in the morning.

Post by Zincarla 24th June 2018, 3:11 am

Yona let out a short, "Heyy, I was going to finish that!" when Kyran snatched the bottle and tossed it into the sea. She pouted a little as he explained that she was to stay in his room. He wanted to make sure she hadn't drunk so much that she had poisoned her body with the alcohol. It was only one bottle! When she started to protest, giving excuses, the mage felt her body lifted upwards by Kyran's arms. He had picked her up, gotten her pants and started to carry her. She blushed, wondering how it must look for Kyran to carry her pants-less into the guild or into his room. However, he had said arguments would not dissuade him and she didn't care what people thought.

The green haired woman trusted him enough to take his word on it and stayed quiet. When he mentioned the skin on his arms being smooth, Yona rubbed her hands over one of his arms in reach. Indeed, it was smooth. She rested her head on his shoulder and looked up at him with green eyes. Broken, whipped, cut on- his arms had been through quite a lot. She thought about the scars upon his back and frowned a little. When he missed a step, she felt a hollow lump rise up in her chest, thinking maybe he would drop her by mistake. "I can walk, you don't have to," She uttered to him. She touched his arm again and said, "Well, Key, my friend. Those people are ruddy buttnuggets." Wow, was she on a roll. "To me, all I know is your arms are strong and so are you." She meant it as inside and outside he was a strong person. She meant to say that she respected and admired that about him. But Yona was too drunk to make clear her meanings.

Yona heard him mention causing the deaths of something or someone, but when he stalked talking abruptly, she went into curious mode. She ran his words through her mind over and over, memorizing, questioning, assuming and then starting over again through the analysis. She would need to remember this when her mind was more clear so that she could ask him some day. He paused after tucking into his bed and grinned mischievously. Yona reached up and gently tugged on his hair. " There is no way you can handle a kiss from a lady like me!" Then she let out a loud laugh. The nineteen year old put her arms around him and hugged, staying there in that position. "I doubt you have a teddy bear lying around, so why don't you just come to bed and be my bear." She didn't mean it in any sensual sort of way and her tone conveyed friendliness, a tease, and relaxed disposition she hardly ever showed.

Yona's drunken words brought a smile to Kyran's face. He shoved the snake demon aside before she could make a comment. He didn't need her constantly making comments and ruining his mood. His arms tightened around Yona for a moment before he headed in. More than a few clerks saw Kyran carrying Yona. It was easy to ignore them as they turned to watch them walk toward the employee's quarters. There were sure to be rumors in the morning but Kyran couldn't care less. It only mattered that he was helping Yona while she was drunk. Was this what friends were like?

Kyran chuckled at Yona's 'challenge'. His eyes glowed yellow as Medea pushed forward. "I think you would be surprised with what I can handle, my lady" Kyran said before bowing low. His arms wrapped around her, her curves molding to his. Yet Kyran felt no desire for the green haired mage. Clearly real life love and attraction wasn't quite how it happened in his books. That was too bad. Magical love like that would be amazing to experience. When she suggested he be her teddy bear, a hint of a blush tinged his cheeks. Medea however was still at the forefront. Kyran shed his pants and climbed into bed. "I'll be your teddy bear tonight and tonight only." Kyran said a hint of teasing in his voice. "You're a big girl now after all. You don't need a teddy bear anymore." He hoped Yona didn't have any issues with his nakedness. Kyran couldn't sleep with any clothing on. He tended to rip it off when he awoke from his frequent nightmares. Tonight, the redhead sent up a prayer hoping the nightmares would stay away this night. He wanted Yona to be well rested in the morning.

Post by Zincarla 27th June 2018, 12:52 am

Yona, only in her undergarments and blissfully unaware of such, closed her eyes when he agreed to join her. She yawned, her mouth stretching wide open and her green eyes watering slightly. She reached up a hand to rub at her eyes. Yona wondered what time it was, probably just a couple hours from dawn if she remembered what time Key and her had climbed off the ferry. This felt like the longest most exhausting day she had had in months. She felt Kyran crawl in and saw a flash of his bare skin. She considered commenting, arguing, or teasing her friend. Yona yawned again and noted to herself that she was too tired for her own usual gimmicks. The plant mage wrapped an arm haphazardly over his chest, lying in the crook of his arm and shoulder. "Goodnight, bear," She whispered softly, sleepily, her words slightly slurring in her drunkenness. Like a drunken friend passing out on whomever or wherever, Yona fell asleep then. Normally, she was plagued as she tried to sleep, terrified that when she closed her eyes she would awaken to being trapped inside of the building burning down in flames all around her. Tonight, those bright red flames were kept at bay through truly believing that Kyran would have her back. Tonight, all she knew was the solace of sleep and the comfort of a friend in the dark.
