[Job] Engine #9 (Leila and Haru) Empty Re: [Job] Engine #9 (Leila and Haru)

    Post by Haru-senpai 7th April 2018, 11:32 am

Cars drove by on the street left and right, the towering, New York like city was booming this weekend. One particular duo walked through the throngs of people, with the young man a little bit taller going out of his way to avoid people who recognized them as Fairy Tail mages on the street. Although thousands of people literally moved here or there without noticing a damn thing. A neko from Joya and a Fioran young man hanging out wasn't going to draw too much attention; in fact it was everyday life in Fiore. The country known for it's acceptance of races of all kind so long as laws were followed. However, these two weren't ordinary individuals. They were mages, people born with the ability to do magic; the minority by a scale of maybe 1 to 1000 in this particular nation.

However, our duo finds themselves on the way to help out a fellow guild of mages. This guild however, specialized in Build-Make and Techno Magic. Clockwork Archer was a guild of mechanics, while not as futuristic in their style of technology as the Nation of Bosco; their blend of Magic and Technology was second to none. They actually were in the midst of designing a second Etherion. A backup for the Magic Council when the problem itself arose. Thankfully, the plans for Etherion were safe for now; however. A super engine, one that could potentially travel at LIGHT speed had been stolen from the guild.

Fortunately, they'd put a tracking device in it, but it had led to another guild of mages. White Hand. Their main guild hall remaining elusive to even the council themselves, but they had a base here and due to the tracking device they'd been found. "Looks like we're here." Haru said as they stepped in front of a building in the city with a HUGE clock crest hanging over it like Fairy Tail's own symbol would. Instead of regular clockhands, there were arrows pointing to 7:00 in a really cool display of their guild.

When Haru got inside; robots literally went whizzing by him as the busy workshop guild boomed on all sides. Looking up, cars and other crafts were held up and were moving on some crazy motorized hanger belt, stopping and being undone by mages from the guild as several floors of work and cars and robots stretched out in all directions in front of Leila and Haru. "Holy shit........this place is nuts!" Haru had a look of awe, but looked kind of afraid for some reason. As he suffered from some crazy motion fear...he was surrounded on all sides by these vehicles. But, he loved the idea of it; and wasn't getting on anything so his fear disappeared as he looked around silently with Leila for awhile.

"AH, a young couple! Damn you scored with a cat son.....what can I get you two?" turning around a guy with a pair of goggles on his head, a workoutfit and an apron with the clockwork archer guild symbol on it spoke to them. "Don't blow your whole budget on a flying car tryna impress her now." after this however, he seemed to spot Leila's guild mark on her leg, and then also looked closer at Haru. "WHOA, I'll be damned.....it's you two. Fairy Tail made it!!! Thank god! Maybe you guys can get the engine back so the damn..phone...will..STOP RINGING in the office!" as he said this, Haru stifled a laugh and nodded to him. Soon a few other guild members of theirs gathered, wiping their hands with rags from their work. They filled them in as best they could as the guildmaster arrived; and arrive she did. She was a fellow Neko like Leila. Named Cid for short, but Cidney. She had blonde fur in contrast to Leila's dark fur, and green eyes like Haru and a bushy blonde tail.

"Well, think you guys can handle it?" she asked with a nod toward Haru, looking him once over as Haru could see the attraction in her eyes, as could her subordinates. "I know you'll be safe, you've got her with you...but it'd be a shame if something happened, I didn't know they'd send you." as she said this, she would look down at the ground. "Lucky ass black cat...." she said under her breath. While he was only sixteen, and she was maybe twenty, this happened to Haru all the time. Since he was a good height for his age. "So....they have a base in a department store.....hiding in a damn Wal-Mart or something like that huh." shaking his head, Haru thought that this actually was a good hiding spot. Using somewhere like a grocery store after hours as a base for a Dark Guild was a good idea if one wanted to stay hidden. "We'll get the engine back for you...no problem." he said in such a way that carried a bit of attitude and confidence with him; making some of the people around smile and make approving noises at Haru and Leila as they stood around them in a circle. After leaving Clockwork Archer back into the huge crowds of people, Haru would turn to Leila. Looking at her as they walked, he would look away before she looked back with a little bit of blush on his face. He'd done his best to avoid the other cat back there. Just because she was here. But he'd never admit that too her...he was too much of a Vegeta for that.

"Well, I guess we've got some time to kill until after hours." he said with his usual serious tone as he realized it was noon and if they went to the department store now people would be shopping and there would probably be kids running around in the store too. Not a good environment for a user of his...kind of magic. "You got any fear of heights?" he said as he pointed up at a skyscraper behind them playfully. Challenging her to a climb while they waited with a thumb point behind him and a smile.

[Job] Engine #9 (Leila and Haru) Empty Re: [Job] Engine #9 (Leila and Haru)

Post by Leila Moon 7th April 2018, 6:21 pm

Leila was feeling somewhat grouchy today, while she knew she had to go out on jobs, it had meant cutting down her relaxation time, she just hoped this whole joining a guild thing ended up being worth it. The raven-haired female usually preferred to work alone, however, there was a good possibility she wouldn’t be able to complete their current mission without a partner, her magic was after all currently pretty weak and limited, so she was thankful to have Haru join her. Leila watched the city traffic whizz by, careful not to stray onto the busy roads without the okay signal.

Leila looked up as Haru mentioned that they had arrived at their destination, the guild hall of Clockwork Archer. She noted their clever little clock above the entrance, well what else would you expect from a bunch of build-make and techno wizards? Leila had never been here before, so she hesitantly followed her partner inside, only to have to jump instantly to the side a little to avoid getting hit by some sort of small magical vehicle zooming about. “And bolts...” Leila muttered in addition to Haur’s ‘this place is nuts’ comment. She immediately bit her tongue, hoping he hadn’t heard her awful little ‘joke’. As she stared around in awe, the cat within her wanted to chase all the whirling and buzzing motorised vehicles, however, she managed to keep herself composed, only her eyes giving away her true lust for playfully chasing things.

It wasn’t hard for her to snap out of it once she heard a booming voice call out behind them, while he insinuated their relationship to be more than what it really was, Leila frowned, flicking back her ears and tail occasionally twitching in irritation,  she did not appreciate his comments, not one bit. However, once he noticed Leila’s mark and gave the duo a better looking over, realising who they were his face seem to light up. While Haru was stifling a laugh, Leila was far too annoyed already to appreciate his commentary, although she did relax a little once they began filling them in to the details of the job. Leila relaxed even more so when she spotted the other Neko approach, it has been a while since she had conversed with one of her own, she’d spoken to Rose, yes, but that wasn’t quite the same thing.

It didn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that this blonde furred Neko most certainly hots for Haru, honestly, Leila honestly couldn’t tell why, yes the boy was rather adorable, even maybe attractive but it’s not like he was something super special, at least she thought that for now. Plus Leila most certainly was not looking for a relationship, especially not with a guild member, that would only bring chaos, surely.  Leila overheard Cidney mutter something about her being a ‘lucky ass cat’ and groaned internally, she wasn’t about to say it out loud, but she was getting rather sick of people pairing them just because they were working together as a duo. Leila was afraid she’d say something obnoxious if she opened her mouth, so she let Haru do most of the talking, he acted so cocky and confident in himself, which only made the dark-haired neko want to roll her eyes.

She was somewhat glad when they finally left the guild hall, it was rather noisy in there, and she was constantly fighting the urge to chase things around. How awful would it have been if she’d let the urge win? It would have made Fairy Tail look like idiots. Leila occasionally stole glances at Haru, not trying to be obvious by trying to see why Cidney had been so enchanted by him, no matter how many times she looked, she just couldn’t see it, it would remain a mystery to her for now. “I suppose we do.” She sighed in response to having some time to kill, it would certainly be a while before they could attempt to complete the mission. Leila was somewhat surprised when he pointed and mentioned the skyscraper, "Of course I’m not scared of heights, plus, " She stated in a matter-of-fact tone before she looked over the building again, as long as there were shadows inside she could be confident about this, "I’m more than certain I can beat you to the top." Leila challenged back, a smirk on her face "In fact, I’m so certain of it, I’m willing to place a wager of your choosing." She stood arms folded, twitching her tail as she waited to hear the red-haired boy’s response, she always did enjoy a bit of competition, however she was not about to lose.

Her confidence made him cross his arms with a 'hmph' but he had a smile on his face when he made the noise. Uncrossing his arms, he would pull out 1000j. "Yea, a thousand bucks says you can't." he knew he was definitely probably faster and stronger; there was no way he could lose right? Maybe? She was a Neko, and although his natural speed as a mage might've gone way beyond normal human limits, she could still somehow be quicker. Who knew. He had a spell that he was working on that let him move at 700MPH; but it was A-Class and he hadn't mastered it yet. Soon though, he'd be able to just run straight up the damn building with his raw speed alone. Now however, he might actually lose in his mind, which he couldn't stand to do.

"Alright, we'll both start on the curb....first one to the top wins. No matter how you get up." with a smile, he'd walk over to he curb in question. Looking from it, to the building, and then up to it's top, then back down to the curb again. Looking over at Leila, he would rub his fingers together and make a little flame. Flicking it onto the ground he would look at her. "When it burns out...we go." taking a ready stance, he would bend his knees a little and watch the tiny flame. It went, smaller, smaller still. With a tss! it turned into smoke; and Haru and most likely Leila would shoot forth through the crowd, Haru would start with Fire Dragons Rocket as flames exploded from his feet, as soon as he reached the building, they would launch him upward high into the air. Way higher than would be safe; as several people from the streets looked up with awe as flames swooshed behind him. Grabbing onto a window, he'd pull himself up into it's ledge. People were super small below him now, as he looked around for another way up. Spotting a flag pole nearby with the Fiore National Flag hanging high; he would get an idea as he looked upward. Leaping over to the flag pole, with his supernatural strength he would begin to loop around it while holding onto the bar like a gymnast. Faster and faster he spun; until another Fire Dragons Rocket exploded from his feet as he went up on a swing. Sending him soaring hundreds of miles an hour upward as he tucked his arms back; he literally turned into a rocket as he flew up, up, and up. Eventually he would pass over the top of the building and land on the roof with a roll, standing to his feet; he would look over the edge.

"WOHO! Damn...that was fun." he said as he continued to watch the cars now driving around like some kind of vast network from up here. It was an amazing view. Moving to the edge of the roof; Haru would actually sit down on it. Making him a little nervous without Rose here to catch him if he fell; but letting himself lean back a little on his hands as his feet kicked nothing but air. He would then stare out, thinking to himself about the guild they were about to interfere with. White Hand. He'd heard of them...they specialized in political subterfuge and manipulation more than any other Dark Guild he'd heard of. "We'll take them down......" he said to himself more than anyone else. "Leila's so serious though for such a pretty girl.......I wonder if she hates me or something....as if I care. Or do I?" he said to himself again although he truly did; as he looked serious for a moment and down at himself. "I hope not...I can never tell with her....wait, why am I talking to myself?" he said as he stood up and began to look around for his guildmate. Getting worried he started looking over each edge of the building while he walked around it. Trying his best to spot her.

"Um...Leila?!" he called out over a random ledge.

[Job] Engine #9 (Leila and Haru) Empty Re: [Job] Engine #9 (Leila and Haru)

Post by Leila Moon 9th April 2018, 10:08 pm

"You’re on. One thousand jewels it is." Leila smirked as she readied herself at the curb, she looked up towards the sky, it was still early in the afternoon, but the sun was starting to lower in the west, therefore she needed to make it to the east side of the building first. There were still people walking around, that could potentially get in her way, she would also have to be careful not to cause too much trouble for the civilians, but her type of magic would be fine to use, no one ever seemed to notice it unless directed at them anyway. Leila’s yellow eyes glanced at the small flame, waiting for it to burn out, her tail and ears twitching in anticipation, she had a game plan now, no way some little fire mage was going to show her up.

Tsss.. The fire was out, but before she even took her first step, the red-haired male was already bursting through the crowd with bright golden flames, causing pedestrians to jump out the way. If this wasn’t a race, Leila would have rolled her eyes, typical males, but this was a race and she didn’t have time to think how childish his actions were. Instead she quickly raced after the boy, transforming into full cat form mid sprint, pure black except on her left hind-leg, where it shone white with her Fairy Tail emblem. Unfortunately, his flames caused issues as their light meant she didn’t have the shadows from the pedestrians she had planned to use to help increase her movement speed. That was fine, she needed to make it to the east side anyway, so she’d need to go around a bit first, so she’d need to turn into them anyway.

Leila took a quick glance to see how her competition was doing before making it around the corner, she cursed as she saw Haru already making his way up the side of the building, she needed to hurry. The moment her paws landed on the shadows cast by the building she felt them increase in power, ah the glorious power of darkness. Now came the tricky bit, she was able to move through shadows, yea, but her distance doing so was quite limited, she’d need to take breaks along parts of the building. Leila quickly spotted window ledges she could use, if she stopped every few levels it should be alright, however, she feared the boy had already made it to the top by now. His speed really was quite surprising. The Neko shook these thoughts away, melding her cat form into the shadow and emerging out again nearly instantly a couple levels above. Perfect, she just needed to rinse and repeat now.

Over and over she slowly made her way up, upon making it to the floor below the roof she had to change her tactic, making sure there was a shadow over the roof’s edge she could actually glide to, she transformed back into her human form, balancing carefully on the window sill, careful not to fall, luckily her balance was impeccable from all her training as a child. She cast over a black shadow cat strike, a manipulation of shadows formed into the shape of a cat, then quickly transformed back into cat form and melded herself into it before it disappeared, allowing her to land on the roof. She looked around and sighed as she spotted Haru, he’d won, of course he had, he was obviously the more powerful male. However, he didn’t seem to notice her, maybe because she was in cat form, rather than human, instead he seemed to be muttering to himself.

Leila's ears pricked up as she heard her name, but she couldn’t really tell what he was saying, something about her hating him? Well she didn’t hate him, did it really seem that way? Should she apologise? If she did he’d know she was listening and she didn't want that. She sat back instead, waiting for him to finish his thoughts, after a minute or two he suddenly stood, causing Leila to jump back a bit, did he notice her trying to listen in? She almost felt the need to dash and hide, but then he started calling her name in quite a worried tone. Leila sighed, thankful he hadn’t notice her. She stepped towards him, his back currently facing her, "I’m right here." The raven-haired girl announced monotonously, "Congratulations, I owe you one-thousand jewels." She sat down in a huff, allowing her tail to move to and fro along the roof’s surface, ears flicked back, her golden orbs looking anywhere but at Haru as she waited for him to turn around.

[Job] Engine #9 (Leila and Haru) Empty Re: [Job] Engine #9 (Leila and Haru)

    Post by Haru-senpai 15th April 2018, 12:34 pm

As he heard her voice, he would feel relieved. Apparently he'd managed to win. As he smirked to himself, he raised an eyebrow as she commented on him winning. "No...the bet's off you don't owe me a thing...." he would then turn out and look out against Motor City, the huge sprawling mecha with cars whizzing by, parking garages and skyscrapers stretching out into the skyline in front of them was beautiful. Realizing they were on the roof of a hotel, he would look around. He actually was glad to have her here. Leila. "Your company's enough of a reward, trust me." he said as he looked out against the horizon again. Putting his hands into his pocket as his black scarf would blow in the breeze around him.

For awhile, Haru didn't say anything to Leila, just watched the city. With his superhuman sight, he would catch a family. As a sadness went over his eyes as even from thousands of feet above with his sight he could see the mom clearly saddling up her kids after leaving the car, having to argue with them a bit to get them in line as this caused Haru to smile to himself rather than look sad at all.

"I don't know who my father is you know..." he randomly said to Leila as he stared at the family, watching them head off into the masses of folks. "My mom won't tell me, or anyone else who it is for that matter." he said as he turned to Leila. Shaking his head and then getting quiet. As night drew on, he would watch as street lights literally turned on. Dusk, it was here. Looking over at Leila, he couldn't help but to look at the shine of her black fur and her womanly curves; but too prideful to admit it he would only nod to her. "The store's closing....let's go." with that, Haru would actually grab Leila around the shoulder in a brotherly fashion and bend his knees, rocketing off as flames erupted from his feet through the air. A streak of flames through the skyline of motor city; he would do a fancy spiral spin as if skating mid-air and land as his feet smoked to a halt against the roof of the department store. Letting her go, he'd nod to her before finding a ladder and going down.

The area was quiet even the parking lot as the store was closed. For awhile, nothing happened. But then a single truck pulled into the parking lot and off to the docking area behind the store. Nodding to Leila, they'd run around the corner as several people would all stop at their approach.

"What the hell. You guys get out of here!" as one of them yelled this, Haru noticed an engine a high tech looking one being loaded onto the truck. "Yo! That belongs to our friends!" Haru would yell abruptly. As soon as he yelled this, they all realized they'd been found out as all of them including a girl around Leila's age would hop down; and ignite her hands in flames. Spells would barrage the two of them as Haru literally ran forward, rolling underneath a blast of water and getting hit with a blast of flames from the girl who laughed outloud but then stopped laughing as the flames spun unnaturally around Haru. As he inhaled the fire right out of the air in a snap; leaving only smoke, as he actually breathed smoke out of his nose like a dragon; licking fire off of his shirt and chewing on it. Fireproof clothes did help for a mage like him.

"That......what the hell." she said as she just decided to make a huge fireball and blast Leila instead. "Get him!" as she yelled this all the guys decided to fire off random spells at Haru who literally caught on fire and rocketed at one like a flaming rocket and with an uppercut sent flames flying everywhere. Haru would then turn and stomp on the ground just as a bunch of spells were about to hit him; a huge inferno erupting around him as lightning and water pinged against the huge inferno surrounding him for about 50ft turning into steam and ash with whizzing noises in the air as Haru's flames began to let off the intense sound of a dragon's roar.

Covering their ears, the other mages would begin to stumble around as the sound from Haru's flames increased. Cocking back a single fist as all the fire surrounding him whirled onto it like a singular sun; he would run forward and unleash Iron Fist upon an earth mage who'd just slammed the ground with their hand and caused a shockwave on the ground. Haru tripped over the damned shockwave but still managed to hit him as the flames erupted in something like a sea parting effect before the other mages began to retreat. The flame mage, their apparent leader was circling Leila sending all types of fire magic at her.

Haru stood for a moment, deciding between securing the engine, chasing the guys, and helping Leila as he looked left to right only once.

Leila narrowed her eyes when Haru said she didn’t owe him anything, was this some sort of trap? She shook the idea out of her head, he was probably just trying to be nice to his new guild mate. She transformed back into her semi-human form, her ears and tail still remaining as always. The Joyan girl was a bit taken aback when he said her company was enough, she wasn’t exactly sure what he meant but that, but she assumed it was a compliment in some way, so she made her way over to stare out at the city below with him. Her eyes were not quite a keen as her comrades but she could still see the hustle and bustle of the city streets below as people made their way around, trying to get home after finishing up their work.

Leila kept the silence, it wasn’t an awkward one, it was the enjoyable, relaxing kind, almost as if they’d been friends for a lot longer than a couple days. Occasionally she would steal a glance at her red-haired partner, carefully examining his face and slight facial expression changes. When he mentioned not knowing his father, it made Leila think of her own. He would have been furious when he found out she had ran off in the middle of the night and she was almost certain he had sent others to track her down, but Fiore was a large place, as long as she kept a low profile she would be difficult to track. Unsure exactly how to respond to Haru, Leila simply remained silent, not wanting to interrupt any of his thought processes. As the sun set, night began to fall and the darkness grew around them, Leila began to feel magical strength increase, she had always been more powerful at night, just an added bonus of being a shadow mage.

“Wait, what?” Leila stuttered as she was suddenly picked up, she closed her eyes as she felt herself moving through the air, what the hell was wrong with this kid? There were much safer, albeit slower, methods of getting around. When they landed, Leila shot a quick glare in Haru’s direction to let him know she was not impressed by the lack of warning, her tail and ears twitching in annoyance as they waited in silence till a truck pulled up. The Joyan returned his nod as they raced to meet their targets, Haru not shy about giving them a heads up as to why they were here, a different approach than what Leila was used to, but it seemed quite effective at getting their attention as soon flames were sent flying towards them, Leila braced herself, only to feel nothing, when she opened her amber eyes, she saw that Haru was… EATING THE FLAMES!?! What the hell was this kid? Leila began to realise she had truly underestimated him previously; she would not make that mistake again anytime soon.

However, the Neko girl didn’t have time to consider the matter any further as suddenly a huge fireball was hurtling in her direction, it seemed the female leader of the group at chosen Leila as her target, probably assuming she was the weak link. While she wasn’t exactly incorrect at the raven-haired being weaker than her comrade, she would by no means allow herself to be considered weak in general. She quickly shifted her body inside some shadows in the area, melting into them and avoiding the flaming ball before reappearing behind the woman, drawing the power of the shadows towards her fists, forming cat like paws around her hands which she used to strike at the woman. “What the…?” She heard the fire mage say as she took the hits, but was still standing strong, “That the best you got?” the female mage sent another blast of flames towards the cat-eared female, who was hit with the full blast, unable to escape into the shadows fast enough this time. Leila felt herself burn from the attack, it truly was painful but she wouldn’t give up just yet. Her amber eyes quickly scanned her surroundings and she saw Haru had already taken care of the rest and was looking like he was unsure what to do now. “GRAB THE BLOODY ENGINE!” Leila yelled at him, “I’ll be fine.”

“I wouldn’t be too sure about that, kitty-cat.” The female mage sneered as she sent another ball of flames towards her, this time Leila was prepared and quickly dragged nearby shadows towards her face, blocking the enemy’s vision of herself and the flame all at once. With a small satisfied smirk, the Neko girl quickly removed her paw like shadows and instead replaced them with razor sharp claws around her fingers. She removed the shadow cloaking her from the enemy’s sight as she stretched out the shadow claw and hit the mage with full force, not once but twice, using both hands with extended shadows. “How dare you!?!” the mage seemed somewhat enraged, “You will never have proof it was us!” she screamed as she attempted to send fireballs towards the building in the hopes of sending it all up in flames. Leila managed to block a few with shields of shadows and she was certain Haru could eat the rest, so there was no real issue as she leapt at the mage with full force, attempting to strike her with her shadow claws once more.  However, the mage used her fire magic in a similar fashion as Haru had previously before the fight and sent herself soaring away, defeated. Leila sighed in relief, while they hadn’t managed to catch any of them for good; they had still successfully collected the engine, which they could happily return to the rightful owners now for their reward.
