A Rose and a Swan Take on a Job.

The White Witch

The Sun was high in the skies and Charlotte was preparing for yet another adventure. Though this time, things would be a little bit different, as the request seemed to be quite urgent. And yet, the girl was buried beneath books and clothes inside of her room in the Silver Moon Inn, a little establishment that belonged to Black Rose, a guild the girl belonged to and was an Ace of. Thankfully, distance was of little problem to her most of the time, as she quickly jumped out of the mess on the floor and grabbed her staff. She was finally finished with her preparations and lifted the tool above her head.

In an instant, the white girl would be consumed by an equally white portal. At the same time, this portal would appear right outside of the Hargeon city port. In fact, it appeared right next to Stefan. From the portal, Charlotte would hop out and quickly notice the boy, offering a warm smile to him. “Ah, hello! I am Char- Oh! It’s you!” The two of them already met. Back when Stefan wished to join Black Rose, Charlotte was the Ace to approach him and give him the guild’s insignia. She knew that there would be another Black Rose mage present, but she didn’t know which one.

Well, this made things a little bit easier, since the two of them at least knew each other. Today, the young white witch was wearing a simple white dress with only few adornments such as frills and tiny jewels. It was something that, as usual, went rather well with her pale skin, white eyes without pupils and equally white hair that was long enough to almost touch the ground behind her. Clutching her staff, she would take a step toward the boy. “Do you know the details of this job? I wasn’t told much aside from the fact it’s very urgent.”

The White Witch

Being hugged was something… strangely unfamiliar to Charlotte. She loved it, adored it even. But it happened so little that she just wasn’t used to such sensation. As such, she froze up awkwardly when she got hugged by the boy in front of her, almost as if she didn’t know what was happening. She just kinda kept smiling and staring at him through the entire gesture. The poor girl really needed more affection that she was getting in her daily life. But that was a task for another day, as Stefan explained what was going on. And the way the white witch saw it, they were to play detective!

She also intently stared at the boy as he started summoning something via magic. She already knew that he was that type of magician, considering one of his spirits was out and about when he joined the guild. But it was still very impressive to her, due to how different her powers were to something like this. And the last summoner she knew was Desirée, a girl she had not seen in forever. Something that was a bit problematic with how the memory of a white witch functioned. Regardless, she would smile at the blue ball and wave as a sign of gesture.

“Good day! I am Charlotte the White, of Black Rose. It’s a pleasure to meet you, Mister Zubish.” She introduced herself to the spirit in full and then also observed as it got them their first clue. It seemed that Stefan would be leading this mission, something that the girl was perfectly fine with, as she was best when playing a supportive role. “Ah, if we’re running around… then this should help!” Reaching into one of her pockets, she would pull out a small white card and toss it into the air, only for it to suddenly dissolve into magical particles.

In that moment, Stefan’s body would be filled with energy, so that his stamina would not run out no matter how far or fast he would run. The same applied to his spirit and Charlotte herself. A very good decision, seeing how she wasn’t exactly the most fit personal physically. In fact, she was extremely frail and had a tendency to fall behind at all times. But this little boost allowed her to keep up with the summoner as he would go wherever the spirit would lead him. The girl just hoped that the people they were looking for would not be too mean. Probably a very naive wish.
