    Post by Haru-senpai 21st February 2018, 8:59 am

It was a sunny day out in Magnolia, even if it was in the midst of winter. It seemed like spring just couldn't wait to arrive. Since he'd had one last birthday with his mother before he'd disobeyed her and left home; he had plenty of money for the road. It had been a good thing to, the journey from his mom's house in Terra Ignis was a long one, especially since it was up in the mountains.

He'd been all around the nation of Fiore, and gotten in trouble a few times with adults to boot. Since an 11 year old traveling alone was bound to raise suspicion. He barely could go into a convenience store without someone asking where his parents were. It was annoying to no end. They should just get out of Haru's way or help him. Sometimes grown ups seemed to be over concerned, maybe he'd understand when he got older.

Walking with his hands in his pockets and his usual serious expression, he looked over his shoulder in the air above him to spot none other than, Rose. The family Exceed who had been a partner to both his Grandfather, Heero, and his Mother, Hera. He got a slightly annoyed look but continued to walk without saying a word to her as she flew behind him.

He didn't need a baby sitter. He'd get himself out of any trouble he got himself into. Eventually, he rounded onto Dragonbane avenue, a street named after his grandfather's old Master, and founder of Fairy Tail. The mage who took Heero in when he had nowhere to go and had lost his dragon and parents both.

"I wonder if the legends about all these old guys is true...." he said to himself as he walked forward, forward still. A building grew in the forefront of his vision. It's shining symbol on it's railed balcony emblazoned into his mind; since his mother had it on her right shoulder all throughout his life; he often asked her about the symbol and what it meant. For awhile, she wouldn't tell him, but eventually she told him about the Guilds when his magic began to surface.

Eventually, he stood just in front of the front lawn of Fairy Tail with his hands in his pockets as Rose flew down onto the ground. She was oddly quiet as she stared at the building.

"Nothing to say?" Haru spoke without looking at her as he just stared at the building. When she didn't respond, he glanced down at her and saw....tears. Rose was crying. This upset Haru as even though he was always distant and rude; he cared for Rose almost more than anything else. This Exceed's toughness and adult knowledge was the only thing that kept him safe on the road at times, and in random hotels all alone; he'd only sleep when she was in he room. "R-Rose." he said as he picked her up, something he only did very rarely. She shook it off and nodded.

"Sorry, I just get choked up seeing this place again....it's just." he nodded to her as she climbed up on his shoulder.

"No more crying OK? God I can't stand it." he said slipping his hands back into his pocket. Just then a sharp smack from her tail came onto the back of his head as she sat on his shoulder. Looks like she was back to her normal self. "Hey what the f---" as he was about to curse he saw her eyes go red as if she dared him to say the next word. He was still 11 so he just let out a 'hmph' and walked up to the doors of Fairy Tail.

As soon as he entered, he was hit with the sound of noise and talking. He looked around, as his usual calm and unimpressed face belied an excited heart and soul. He was here. He looked around before a couple of older girls approached him. He took his eyes off their bodies and furrowed his brow a bit as they leaned down.

Handsome, Adorable, When he gets older! Oh my goodness!

"Silence women, direct me to the guildmaster of this place immediately." his eyebrows lowered a little bit. As one of the girls shrieked.

"You little shit!!! Who are you calling WOMAN!" she retorted.

"Alright...then Sir it is. So direct me towards the guildmaster then, sir." Haru got a smirk for the first time today as the other girl laughed at the one confronting him. At that moment he felt guilty as Rose crossed her arms, standing behind him down below and shook her head. Turning back with a sigh he rolled his eyes a bit. "I'm only joking....I hope one day I can find a beautiful lady like you two....but is the guildmaster here or not? I don't have time to waste looking for her so if you know where she is, tell me."

The girls seemed to appreciate his change in attitude and began looking around the guild hall for someone. Eventually though, a huge crowd of people began to surround Rose and eventually someone screamed with excitement at seeing the red furred Exceed in here once more. A crowd rushed her, scooped her up like she'd won a championship and began berating her with questions about Hera and where they'd ran off too---Haru being completely ignored. Which irritated him to no end.

Balling up his fist he could only stand there and wait for everyone to calm down, an angry look on his face somewhat.

"My oh my, what's this~?" Meifeng cooed as she approached the young man, proceeding to waste no time in leaning herself against him and picking him up in what most others would call a bear hug. A hug so tight, it was as if you were receiving it from a bear itself. Hence the name. If one were to catch a whiff of her breath or even just the smell of her clothes, they would be able to smell the fresh scent of alcohol on it. This combined with her flushed red face, and overall slurry nature would allow anyone who had taken a sip of beer in their life to know that the earth mage was pretty drunk. Which, in itself was an amazing feat since she had an amazingly high tolerance level. Drinking was a favorable past time for the bear-like woman. In her tribe back in Joya, if you didn't appreciate getting completely shitfaced, you were pretty much just a weakling and cast out from any social circles. It was a man's past time. Mei, of course, was no man. But given her strength? She might as well be.
"He's so small and thin, i could use him for a toothpick!" she squealed, tightening her grip upon him even more. Of course she wasn't going to actually use him for a toothpick, it was just more or less a way for her to tease him giving his skinny stature and small height. But he was just a kid, and an angry-looking one at that. She figured he needed some love to loosen him up. Maybe he could use some food too... Or alcohol. That always helped her out. Mei wasn't aware if there were any drinking laws in Fiore, given she was a foreigner. But the thought of there being such a thing didn't even cross her mind, as someone who has been able to drink it all her life. Even as a baby.
Yes, they gave beer to her as a baby.
How else could you explain her behavior?

As Haru scowled at Rose's welcome, and being ignored. Attention was quickly turned to him as people surrounded him and began asking him random questions...all of which he rudely ignored.

"Hey when adults are talking you listen!" they leered over him, so close they could headbutt him. As he merely stood there and stared at a random spot in the room eventually he knew they would stop eventually but...when. For god sake when. As a little kid he just had to take it all he guessed. Although he was starting to get the itch to hit someone or something.

As he gritted to himself; he heard a voice for the first time. Then, an arm around him. Looking left to right and then at the older girl who's arm was around him, Haru just blinked with his stoic Uchihaness and asked her.

"Are you a member of his guild?" he sensed magic from her, but she seemed to be ignoring him. He smelled alcohol on her; it smelled god and reminded him of his mother watching her TV shows and downing a whole bottle of wine. But it also let him know she might be wasted. "Um....WHOA!" he was squeezed and lifted off of his feet as he blushed a bit in her face. "Unhand me woman!!!" he struggled against her but even with his superhuman strength this lady seemed to be as strong as an ox...or a bear. Eventually he gave up on prying away from her and just laid there in her arms, face in hand with a sweatdrop over his head.

"Tsk....this is not a favorable situation." he said low enough that it was hard for anyone to hear unless they had superhuman hearing like him as a dragon slayer. It was then, that Haru got a bright idea about how he could get unhanded. It always made his mom freak out whenever he touched her there. So this had to work.

The scene would zoom out and show Haru just grabbing a handful of Meifong's rack. Blushing, his eyes looked serious as he stared her down in the uncompromising position. Would this work? Or would he be destroyed? His Exceed in the background...just facepalmed at his apparent solution to being bear hugged.

"Of course i'm a member, silly! I've got the guild mark and everything." She would confirm, referring to the red mark which resided atop her ankle.
Mei would not unhand him, nor loosen her grip in the slightest. In fact, if it was humanly possible, she just ended up hugging him even tighter. He was so small and angry, the earth mage just found that adorable. He was like a small mouse that was trying to act big, and that determination to prove himself was something that most would find adoring in a child. Mei, was one of those people, having dealt with his kind in the tribe before. Kids were always adorable when they were younger, then they grow up and become less adorable with their muscles and beards. It was a let down. Not that adult men weren't adorable, they were adorable in their own ways. But there was something about a child and their cuteness that wanted Mei to keep them that way forever. If only she had the power to keep children from ever growing up.
At his demand to unhand him, Meifeng simply letting out a drunk giggle, a bright smiling curling onto the corners of her lips. She pushed him towards her chest even more.
But then she felt something. A pressure, like something was grabbing at her chest. She loosened her grip lightly, but however would not release him fully. Instead, she peered down her bright violet gaze at the boy, looking at him with curiosity for a second before a sly look took over her expression.
"Well well, that's a little forward, is it not? You could always just ask to see them you know~" Mei had no shame in her body, not like the rest of the women here. In her tribe, clothes meant nothing. It was only here that she was keeping them on, or otherwise face jail time for nudity.
Haru could now escape if he wished, the surprise had caught the earth mage off guard enough. But she would not be letting him down anytime soon on her own.

As soon as she started speaking he realized his plan had failed. This caught him off guard a bit but she did loosen her grip a little. Enough for him to get away from her. But her words just....caught him so off guard that he actually started blushing forreal. Damnit, weren't all women supposed to be Moms?! What was this feeling. He didn't like it. With a final duck downward he slid out of her arms and looked up. A sweatdrop passed over his head.

"Just how much have you had to drink anyway! I've seen some of those before by the way!!!" he wouldn't admit that they were his moms...never. He had to seem manly now. "Jeez......." he scowled at her but looked to the right and crossed his arms. He sensed stronger magic power from her than anyone else around. But growing up around an H-class mage made him insensetive to others as far as power went. This one however, had a strong natural power; and that made her cool to him in some way.

Crossing his arms and scowling to the left with a look, he would look up.

"If you ever grab me like that again in public....." he growled under his breath to her without looking at her as he blushed. "I'll tickle you or something.....I dunno. Just stay out of my way! I'm...Haru by the way. Haru Reyold. Don't forget the name, it carries a lot of weight you know!" he continued to scowl with his arms crossed. Looking around.

Mei couldn't help but be a little upset that he managed to escape her killer grasp. She had tried so hard to hold onto him to make him feel a little better, and even offered her own body. Normally, she may even feel insulted that someone rejected her advances. But since it was just a tiny bit of teasing and he was a little too young for her liking, she didn't take it to heart too much. Boys will be boys, after all.
The earth mage let out a hearty laugh when he got flustered and threatened to tickle her of all things, and patted the top of his head with a ruffle of his hair. He was just getting cuter by the second to her, so small and yet trying to act so manly. It was adorable. "Of course you have, dear."
She would not take his statement about breasts or the threat seriously, and made a note to tease him further just because he asked her not to. But, she supposed that could wait until another time. Introductions were in order. Even if she was completely smashed, she was fully capable of carrying herself correctly. Most of the time, she just chose not to.
The brunette removed her hand from the top of his head and placed it upon her hip. She did not recognize the name. Reyold, was it? According to him, it held some sort of weight around here. But as someone who was not from Fiore, she would not quite get the name's significance, and instead simply thought the kid was adding more importance to it than there actually was. You know, since he seemed like the kind of kid to act important.
"Ah, so toothpick does have a name. Well then Haru, what are you doing in the guild of the fairies? Aren't you a little too young to be flirting with the women here?" She would give a teasing smirk, having notice the women earlier giving him a hard time. She did not recognize him, and therefore didn't think he was a member. But perhaps she was wrong. It hadn't been too long since she joined after all. She could have missed him.

Sorano yawned carefully into her hand, coming down the flight of stairs leading into the guild’s main hall. Things were actually starting to look up for the little guild these days, and luckily for her, it meant far fewer things she had to take care of. She could start getting more sleep now, and it was absolutely terrific. Her levels of focus had increased significantly. And her body was showing more signs of energy and health. Maybe she could finally get around to learning physical combat… Who knows? Turning these positive thoughts throughout her mind, she headed over to the bar. The college student who had been dozing off at his spot would quickly jerk up, and smile awkwardly at her. “Um, same as usual, miss?” The letter mage nodded back, plopping onto a stool at the bar. These days, the place served a fair amount of healthy and filling foods as well, depending on who was running it. This particular employee was one who made terrific sandwiches, and Sorano had her lunch here whenever possible.

It was around this time that the door swung open, a crowd of mages and townspeople who often liked to congregate here slowly forming where someone had come in just a moment ago. Hm? Sliding off the stool, Sorano moved over to check, bumping into Hoshi on her way there. These days, the two had learned to do their own things, their interests growing further and further apart. They were still extremely close companions, but Hoshi was getting started on doing her own services as well, delivering mail and packages around Magnolia. “Want me to fly you over?” The exceed picked Sorano up without warning, flying her over to the front of the crowd. The letter mage was dropped carefully down, and Sorano would awkwardly push her way to the front. What was going on? “Oh! Sorano! Did you see? Rose is back!” Raising an eyebrow, the letter mage finally reached the front and stilled for a moment, the sight of the red exceed bringing back memories.

Accompanying the exceed was a young boy, one who bore uncanny resemblance to Hera, and to an extent, Heero. A relative, perhaps? One of the newer members seemed to be chatting with the boy already, grinning and…was she flirting? Well, Sorano most certainly wasn’t one to judge her guildmate’s preferences. “Hello, Rose, long time no see. What are you doing back here? How is Hera doing?”

"Oh, hey there master!" Rose got a smile on her face that Haru had never seen her have before really, maybe a few times. The way she lit up when she saw her, she flicked her ear a few times and dusted her dress over once before her white wings appeared in a flash, she hovered over to the young woman; Haru growing up had always noticed that Rose had the same guild crest as his mom, in bright white on her right arm.

He was told his grandfather received his crest on his back from the founder of the Guild, Leonard Dragonbane. His mother had gotten hers from none other than Kanix, the first woman to become guildmaster of Fairy Tail. He wondered....as he leaned from around Meifong to get a better look at who Rose was talking too.

It was a girl only a few years old than him?! His mind literally went crazy at that moment for a few seconds but he assessed the situation cooly.

"So you're the guildmaster?" he walked up, he was literally the same height as her. "..............." he just stared at her for awhile with his usual careless face, before he spoke again. "I'd like to join the guild." since they were around the same age he wouldn't give her any long speeches on the tone of 'I know I'm young but I'll hold my own, ect ect.' "I have my own reasons." he said without breaking or folding at all. She was definitely a few years older, but still. He didn't want to reveal anything to her just yet. Because he honestly thought she was very, very cute. Just like Meifong. What was this place packed with pretty girls or something? Rose would probably do that for him anyway.

He really just wanted to see his grandfather. He could feel a magical presence radiating hard from the basement of this place. The only feeling close to it when he closed his eyes randomly in front of Sorano just this moment was Sorano herself, brimming with an almost impeccable magical energy like his mother.

As he looked around he scowled a bit at anyone who would make direct eye contact with him. Unlike Heero who was carefree and flirtatious, or Hera who was bold and warm Haru was none of those things. Well...maybe somewhere deep down. Opening his eyes in front of Sorano he would talk again.

"Well is there some kind of trial or test or something...if not." he rolled down his right sleeve, showing that for a kid he was already starting to look like an athlete with his build. "I'll take the emblem here in dark blue." his look of determination and fierceness told everyone around him that the symbol meant something to him. Deep down, it reminded him of home, of his mom. He'd run away but. He needed this. With a nod towards Sorano he affirmed that he was ready.

Rose merely looked at him, mildly impressed and then looked over to Sorano. Still anxious to gt to the paperwork like they used too long before she was guildmaster. If only Haru knew that this woman was the only reason why his grandfather maintained such a cloutful position as a Legal Guildmaster for so many years. She almost wanted to talk with Sorano again here and now like they used to pouring over hours of paperwork, discussing theories and science together. But it wasn't the time to have a nerdgasm at being around her.

"Well what do you think Sorano? Remind you of anyone? I think we can make a mage out of him." Rose taunted as she floated next to Sorano. Haru shot her a serious look which made her smile even harder.

What Makes a Mage [Intro] Empty Re: What Makes a Mage [Intro]

    Post by ivyleaf33 24th February 2018, 1:21 am

Rose greeted her cheerfully, as friendly and polite as she’d always been. Even now, as she treated Sorano as a higher-up, the letter mage felt like she should be dipping her head to her instead. It was like she was back down in B rank, awkwardly following behind the chatty exceed. However, while her greeting was bright and cheerful, the boy with her had a very different reaction. “So you’re the guildmaster?” He was obviously not very impressed by her young age, something she considered quite ironic considering he was even younger (seriously smh, no wonder we’re called the pedophile guild – look at all these kids we’ve managed to collect lmao), and greeted her in a tone that bordered on the edge of rude.

“I’d like to join the guild. I have my own reasons.” Well, that was just about as clear as mud, but he wasn’t quite so mysterious as he probably thought he was. If Sorano had emotions, she’d probably be chuckling on the inside by now. Just the very presence of Rose was a dead giveaway, and the telltale dragon slayer energy and similar looks gave him away easily as a member of the Reyold family. He closed his eyes briefly, seeming to be sensing for something, then opened them again, looking up at the letter mage. Asking if there was any trial or test, Sorano shook her head, already sensing no particular malicious intent coming from his aura. Rose was someone she trusted immensely, and she was sure the exceed wouldn’t bring someone who would hurt the guild in any way. Still, she had to go through the rules.

“You may not, by any means harm any guild members or anything belonging to the guild without a good reason that everyone else can agree with, or with the express permission of said guild member, the guild master, or one of the guild aces. You are also not allowed to disclose any private guild-exclusive information to outsiders either. If any of these vital rules are broken, you will not receive any warnings before you are punished or banned, is that clear?” The letter mage looked him straight in the eye, dead serious. Despite the loose nature of the guild, basic rules were still required in order to keep them connected and able to conduct business. If he would agree, Sorano would gesture for him to walk over to the reception desk, where a fairy would pull out the guild crest for her.

Standing before him, she carefully pressed the stamp down on his shoulder, a magic circle forming to secure the mark and all of its privileges upon the guild member. “Welcome to Fairy Tail. This symbol allows you to enter all our private premises, including the basement, Tenroujima, the Haven of Reflection, and Sykedalr Vylduno.” After the mark was applied, he would be able to see the blue orbs hovering around the guild turn into small fairies, darting about to send jobs and paperwork around, and a pair of staircases leading down into the basement, where illegal business and important Fairy Tail artifacts and items were kept.

Days came and went, some gloomier than others, but time had continued to go on, stopping for no one. Not even the middle aged Ezra Aurence, who lazed about his office room for the majority of today. He napped over his wooden, unorganized desk, reading spectacles inched down the bridge of his nose, threatening to fall off if he moved even a little. Long, messy locks hugged the nape of his neck, his usual appearance. Empty beer bottles would lie empty and scattered about the desk, and an almost comically full ashtray placed snugly next to them. It was the life appealing to a workaholic, but not a lazy mercenary. Still, it was a lifestyle that didn't make him unhappy, and busied his boring days. Some days quieter than others, and today seemed to be one of the latter.

All was silent until office doors swung open, and chatter began to bustling to such an extent that it woke the slumbering lyncan, who'd sleep through storms like nothing. He slowly raised his head from his crossed arms, adjusting his spectacles and wiping the drool that slivered from his parted lips. He groaned, "Aye. . . what's with this noise?. . ." he rose from his seat, plucked his spectacles from his face and onto the desk, making way out of his office and into the public space. He wore a black tank top and denim, straight pants. Although he wore it primarily because the rooms could often get stuffy and hot, and emphasized his exceptionally muscular build far more than he would ever intend.

Ezra peered over the balcony and down onto the main floor, placing a cigarette between his lips and quickly lighting it with the lighter he would always keep on him. Briefly, he forgot the rule that there was no smoking permitted indoors amidst his weariness and curiosity. Suddenly, his face lit up and mouth curved into a smile, stretching from ear to ear in seeing the familiar exceed he had gone back with. Rose, the previous companion of Hera Reyold, a woman he had not thought about in a long, long time. Next to her, an irritable boy, a tipsy woman, and the Guildmaster, Sorano. Of course, surrounding those three was the crowd who had adored Rose and/or the boy that accompanied her. The noise possessed him with irritation.

"If it ain't Rose, huh?" he exclaimed over the balcony, whipping himself over the railing and making a quick descent to the ground floor and would amble over to the group, through the crowd with his towering height, "Howdy-do!" he grinned, looking between Sorano and Rose, blowing out a puff of smoke.

Violet hues flickered over to the boy, who went by Haru, as he had heard, and knelt down to eye level with him. "Haru Reyold, aye? Smell just like 'er Mum, sweaty and gross." he snickered, large, strong hands ruffling his hair. He raised his head to Rose, sighing, "Y'all picked an awfully boring guild to join if 'er lookin' for something exciting, though. We ain't like we used to be." he would insist, smoke exiting his lips as it would usually do. Still, he found it compelling to give Haru some of his attention, as he did enjoy kids. He turned back to the boy, "Don't cause trouble, aye?" he smiled.

What Makes a Mage [Intro] Empty Re: What Makes a Mage [Intro]

As he officially became a member of Fairy Tail, his expression changed to one that Haru never ever wore. But he quickly changed his expression back to his normal scowl so that no one noticed his excitement. He didn't want to let anyone in anymore than they already were....he could tell these people all knew Rose well; and his mother.

If they asked where she'd gone he wouldn't tell them. She was somewhere in Fiore, but which town would remain secret. He'd heard the people here were very trustworthy. A bit wild but trustworthy; but he'd have to see that for himself.

No sooner did he get his blue mark did he walk past Sorano without so much as a word. Due to him thinking she was beautiful, he wouldn't engage with the guildmaster at all if he could avoid it. Not until he was older. "A man" as they'd say. A new set of staircases headed downward had appeared. Haru had a furrowed brow because they weren't there a moment ago. Maybe they were magically cloaked and linked to the guild symbol. Just then, Sorano explained as much. Without acknowledging her words he continued to walk, but turned to nod to the guildmaster once.

But before he could get very far; a super tall guy, with pretty nice muscles that Haru one day would hope to have stood in front of him. One of his new guildmates. This one seemed ok; he was smoking, most of his Mom's nicest friends smoked so Haru was going to open up to this guy a bit more than the others.

"Hey, muscle sensei. I'm Haru nice to m----" as soon as he palmed his head; Haru's expression and the first time anyone had seen him be nice faded.

Haru Reyold, aye? Smell just like 'er Mum, sweaty and gross."

Haru's eyebrow began to twitch as the guy shuffled his hair and began to walk off. Telling him Fairy Tail isn't as live as it used to be, and to stay out of trouble. However, Haru had already blacked out. His fist balling up next to him.

"....You take back what you said about my mother right now. YOU DISRESPECTFUL ASSHOLE!!!" Haru's fist that was balling up next to him burst into flames as he took off running full speed at Ezra's back. With a single leap; he would punch him directly in the back as flames would sear his jacket off, or if he turned around; aim it right at his mug. The flames would die down after the punch as Haru would then run at Ezra and go for a straight up 'tackle', afterward he would leap on Ezra's back and begin pulling on his ear and even biting his forehead as hard as he could. "Take back what you said about ka-san!!!" he said as he continued to practically pull Ezra's hair out.

Rose merely facepalmed, as she knew Ezra had a temper of his own and he wouldn't idly let this little knat crawl all over him but for so long. He just hoped the guild made it through Ezra and Haru's brawls, which she assumed would be frequent.
