What an Ugly Name

Job:

"Krrr...edy... Frr...uu...ger...?" Sogi read the paper in his hands. He turned it upside down and back to its normal position. Almost playing with the paper like a staring wheel, he tried to pronounce the man's name; however, the name was just to weird for him to pronounce. "What an ugly name isn't it Rina?" Said Sogi as he turned to his teammate. They were walking towards a specific alley in the small village. There was supposedly a hidden entrance to a complex tunnel system under the city. The entrance was of course located in this dark and ugly alley. When they got there, Sogi walked towards what looked like the entrance the sewers. "This should be it." Said Sogi as he pulled the metallic top and saw something similar to the sewers yet not the same. A ladder made its way down to what looked like a dirt tunnel. Nothing too complex nor technological. The pair were sent on a mission to find a man known as Kreddy Frueger. And while Sogi was not sure, rumors said this villain could be found underneath the town and inside those tunnels. "So... you ready Rina?"

Rina saw Sogi fiddle around with the little sheet of paper they received from the job boards. He was trying to pronounce the name and Rina rubbed the boys head and said "Don't worry about it. I heard this man is spooky so we should focus on that.Whatever you do Sogi just stays brave." She remembered from the paper that there was supposed to be a secret tunnel around where they were. It was marked on the sheet that they were right where they were supposed to. So Rina looked around for a bit before Sogi found the entrance way. She looked down it and felt a few chills go down her spine. As she climbed down the little ladder she felt a wet area on it and almost slipped. Luckily she caught herself on one of the latter handles.

She began to look around and see how ominous this tunnel was. It was as though something was off about the area like something was haunting it. Rina couldn't shake off the feeling and just kept moving. Rina was worried that this place seemed too suspicious but she tried to stay strong from Sogi. She always seemed to be able to sense a danger but she wasn't sure about this one. She wanted to get ready for it though and shed the color of her flowery shorts and tank top into wintery colors. She hoped Sogi wouldn't see her preparations for battle and just continued moving at her regular pace.

'Monster Dice' :

Sogi slid down the rails of the vertical ladder leading to the tunnels. He was the second to jump inside, just after Rina. This place was wet and pretty weird. Why would anyone build tunnels like those? Those were now the man's hideout; however, he probably had not been the responsible for such acts. In fact, those tunnels had most likely been made many years ago. They might have existed since the very start of such village, but that was not Sogi's concern. Not at that moment. His job was to find and capture the man known as Kreddy Frueger. And so, Sogi walked behind Rina, keeping up with her and looking around to see anything suspicious.

"Rina, I'm starting to feel a bit dizzy..." Said Sogi as he started to feel a bit hot. At first, he started to feel a bit sick, but once he was too tired to keep waking, he realized it was more than just a simple infection or anything of sorts. Sogi leaned towards on the wall of the tunnel they were in. He slowly started to fall as he tried to use the wall as a support. By the time his body reached the ground, Sogi was already unconscious. With the wall slowing down his fall, Sogi was able to avoid any damage when falling. However, as he fell asleep, his mind woke up in a different place. Something similar to a dream. Sogi was now awake in a new world. It was dark and creepy. A forest surrounded Sogi as he stood up from the ground and tried to look for something recognizable for him. "Rina? Where are you?" Started to ask Sogi. But what was really frightening for him was that he had no idea where he was nor how he got there.

Rina knew her suspicions were right the second Sogi said he was starting to feel dizzy. She saw him walking funnier and Rina tried to keep him upwards but then he just laid on the wall and fall down. Rina was extremely worried but sooner or later she began to feel this woozy feeling. She couldn't stand up straight so she leaned on a railing and hoped she would stay conscious enough to not faint. She was wrong though and started to fall downwards. She didn't take any damage though since she was already mostly on the ground. She could feel something escaping her body, like her soul or her mind.

As she closed her eyes she woke up in a strange world. It was misty and foggy. Rina couldn't see through it but she heard yelling. It was Sogi's voice! She ran to it and yelled at him but she couldn't see him, so she just kept running. She then tripped over something big and looked over at it. She smiles and cried tears of joy as she saw the 7-year-old boy. She hugged and said, "Don't you ever leave me alone like that again." She then looked right past him and saw a man. He had blades for fingers and he looked extremely grotesque. He wore an ugly v neck sweater and tight pants with an extremely out of style hat. She laughed with joy and nervousness since she didn't know if she should feel scared or amused. She didn't want to take any chances though so she clenched onto Sogi even harder than before and took out her Buttercup Hammer and told Sogi, "Don't worry."

She then charged towards the man and saw him disappear out of nowhere. It was odd because he was nowhere to be found until she saw him. He was right in front of Sogi, ready to slash at him with his blades. With lots of fear, Rina screamed "Noooooooooo..."

Rina? Though Sogi as something tripped over him. And just as he thought, it was her. She quickly jumped at him and hugged him. Sogi, of course, returned the hug squeezing as hard as a 7-year-old boy could; however, before anything else happened, Rina spotted a grotesque looking man behind Sogi. He turned and saw an ugly man with blades in his fingers. Rina held Sogi tighter and pulled out her hammer. She then charged at the man, letting him show her abilities and instantly evade the attack. The man appeared right in front of Sogi and prepared his hand for an attack. The blades looked quite sharp. Quite dangerous as well. But while the man showed to be pretty slippery and fast, Sogi was also very fast.

The man swung his right hand in an attempt to slash and harm Sogi, but by the time his hand was only a few inches from Sogi's position. The kid instantly disappeared. Able to control time itself, Sogi appeared behind the man and in front of Rina with no injuries whatsoever. "He's pretty ugly Rina... I guess we'll easily take him down together." Said Sogi as he picked his flute from his left pocket and pointed it at the man. Sogi started to transform into his teenage form. After the light around him banished, leaving the body of a 15-year-old instead with a spear in his hand, Sogi dashed at the man trying to attack him with his spear. He dashed a few meters before getting in range for his attack. But again, before the man was stabbed or attacked by Sogi, he disappeared moving quickly between the shadows and ending up between Rina and Sogi. He was quick, but Sogi was quick as well. He turned around and quickly attempted to land a second hit. But again, without enough speed, the man was able to teleport away and this time behind Rina. "He's behind you Rina." Said Sogi to give his ally a clear understanding of the enemy's location.

Rina watched amazed at Sogi's skill. He seemed to be able to control himself and his magic way better than ever before. He was fluid in his motions and was even able to hit the demon. Rina was so proud of Sogi due to his ability to grow in strength and power. She remembered the first time they ever went on a mission together. She remembered how she was able to see the strength in Sogi. Watching Sogi battle made her astonished by how much he had grown into an excellent mage. After she was watching she saw the demon disappear out of nowhere. Rina then heard Sogi say something but she was too dazed to no what until she felt a scratch on her shoulder. She screamed in pain as the wound starting bleeding but she tried to stay calm and fight for Sogi. Her hammer was ready to fight and so was she. She lifted it up with both of her hands even though her left shoulder was wounded. She swung once at the demon and he screamed in agony as Rina made contact. Right as she hit him she then lifted it above the demons head in one fluid motion and plopped it straight down onto his head.

Rina saw the demon's eyes close, and she got closer to him. She didn't believe he was dead and she was right. When she got close to him he pounced but before he could Rina rolled away and put her hammer away. Instead, she brought out her balloon flower grenades and then got them ready. She threw one right at his chest but he blinked somewhere that Rina didn't know. Just as he did this the fog got even thicker as she tried to search around for him. She backed up into something that felt like a body. So she turned around and threw it at it. When she looked down she saw her father dying on the ground and bleeding. She cried in pain as she saw her dear old father who was in the hospital dying on the floor bleeding to death. She looked around to see if anything would help but it didn't. She screamed at her father and said "Where is mom's handkerchief. Please, I need to close up the wound to save you." When she reached for his pocket it wasn't there. Instead, there was something sharp like a blade and then she became angry. She realized this was just an illusion but she still pretended to go with it.

She began to kneel down on the ground and put her head into the illusions chest. With not even one more thought she took out one balloon grenade and clenched it in her hands. She did it so nobody or nothing would see her. As she did these she slammed her fist down on her fake dad's chest as if she was trying to resuscitate him. Right as her fist reached his chest it blew up in her hands. It stung her but it didn't do too much damage to her, due to it being her weapon. The illusion then began to disappear and her father's illusion said to her "Curse you, you evil brat. Die in hell." A tear then rolled down her face as the fog began to clear up. She then saw Sogi by the wall he fell asleep on earlier and she said: "Sogi we did it, we beat him." As she ran towards him something blocked her path and it said, "You think you got rid of me so easily? Well now I'm in the real world and can actually kill you..." Right as he said that he ran straight to Sogi and lifted his hands up as if the demon was going to stab Sogi with his hand. Rina then yelled quickly "Wake up Sogi!"

After trying to warn Rina about the enemy behind her, she was slashed through the shoulder and wounded. She then quickly continued to turn and bluntly smash her hammer on the enemy's head a couple of times. Sogi started to run towards both of them, but before he was able to reach them, the fog around them started to get thicker. But not only that, it quickly surrounded Sogi. And despite walking more than a few meters in Rina's direction, he found no one. "Rina!" Shouted Sogi as his voice moved through the fog. All of a sudden, Sogi was alone in the middle of the woods. He knew his voice could not be heard by Rina, but before he gave it a second shot, he noticed a shadow in front of him. Standing straight was the man who had previously attacked both Rina and Sogi. Sogi had no idea where Rina was, but the shadow seemed to slowly move each time closer to him, eventually standing about a few meters away and stopping. Neither Sogi nor Kreddy spoke a word, and before any of the two moved, the shadow started to clone around Sogi. It was more than weird to him, he was not able to sense any magic power around him. Not even Rina's. It had to be an illusion.

Sogi held his spear with one hand and swang with it around, trying to push the fog away; however, nothing moved. The now multiple shadows started to walk even close to Sogi. They rose their hand showing its long blades above Sogi. He started to feel heavy and did not know which one of the shadows was actually real, but after a quick recap of the situation, he realized it had to be an illusion. He was about to let the shadow attempt to stab him, but just as the hand started to get closer to him, he heard a voice. "Wake Up Sogi!" He recognized such voice as Rina's and quickly closed his eyes. He then opened them and woke up from the sleep he had fallen into.

Sogi was now lying on the ground just next to a stone wall. As he started to see clearer, the man they were looking for was in front of him. He tried to move as quickly as possible to evade the man's attack, but as he started to roll, he noticed he was no longer in his teenage body. He was in his youngest form, in his 7 year old body. That body was not exactly very fast and made it difficult to move quicker than the bladed man. However, Sogi was still able to accelerate his body and essentially skipping in time. Just as the claws touche Sogi's chest, opening a small injury to his torso, Sogi teleported again behind the man. Only a little drop of blood fell from Sogi's chest, spilling all its way down to the floor. The injury, however, was nothing serious. Sogi touched his chest with his left hand and started to close the wound by moving back in time. After a few seconds, his chest had never experienced such an attack. And before the enemy had a chance to throw another strike at them, Sogi transformed yet again, into his teenage form. He pulled his flute and transformed it as well into the long and deadlier spear.

His enemy blinked in front of the two again. This time, Sogi was faster and was able to evade the first slash. He then countered the attack with a strike coming from his spear. "Speed Up!" Said Sogi as he started to move faster and quickly dashed behind the target, stabbing him again and kicking him, leaving Frugger between the two Fairy Tail mages.

The demon was now in between the two strong mages. He seemed scared but then Rina felt a tingle go down her spine as she saw the demon smile. Rina backed up a little, due to fear. She then put a head on her heart and took out a staff with the flower at its end. She pointed it at the demon with fear. He then dashed extremely fast at Rina but luckily she was ready and dropkicked him. While he was falling down Rina jumped to her feet and hit him with the tip of her staff. He got knocked back into the wall Sogi previously was at. He got up as though nothing happened and laughed out loud. "Hahaha, you are weak, no wonder you couldn't protect your father." Rina's heart sank as she heard the comment and she charged with a ferocious yell. She tried to hit him with the spear but he disappeared as she ran at him. She could still feel his presence though. As she closed her eyes she could imagine the figure's magical body as it swung at her shoulder. She then moved to the right and slapped the arm down. Seeing the flaw in her opponent she yelled out loud "Jabbing Combo." She jabbed him in his stomach at first and she heard an excruciating yell coming from his mouth. As the staff jabbed him he got knocked back a few meters. Then she ran up to him as he was clenching his stomach and hit him on the head. As she did this she saw his eyes roll back into his head as he got stunned from battle. As she did this she looked over to Sogi and nodded giving him the signal that it was his turn to fight.

"Nice going Rina" Shouted Sogi as she fought the demonic human with her weapons. The demon was punched once and twice, easily being beaten up by Rina and even throwing him around with ease. After Rina's powerful combo though, she turned to Sogi, nodding and letting him know it was his turn to hit the enemy. Sogi ran passed Rina and towards the demon with his spear. He was still quite beaten by Rina's attack and had a low reaction time. Sogi quickly charged his spear in light to prepare his next attack. With his speed, he reached the target in only a couple of seconds. Frugger was just barely able to teleport about 3 meters to his left in order to evade Sogi's attack. "Saw that coming." Said Sogi as he then teleported behind Kreddy and stabbed him with his spear through the chest and from behind. But before his enemy could even spit all the blood coming from his mouth, Sogi teleported yet again in front of the target. This time, he was not holding his spear since it was still resting in the enemy's body. "Time Crush!" Said Sogi as he created a black bubble around his hand. Still standing in front of his enemy, he took the spear from it's sharper end, carefully holding to avoid any cuts. He then used his right hand to smash the bubble-like attack he had, pushing the enemy at least 5 meters back and keeping the spear in his left hand. "Done." Said Sogi as he could no longer feel any strong magic energy from the enemy's body. Sogi then walked towards Rina and transformed his bloody spear into its normal flute form. "Don't think my attack was fatal, but I guess it is you're move on what to do with him Rina. I'll be waiting up in the street." Said Sogi as he finally walked back towards the ladder and climbed his way back to the surface, leaving only Rina and the almost dead Kreddy Frugger.

Rina was very excited to see Sogi defeat the bad guy. Mostly because she was always so proud of Sogi when he defeated a bad guy. Sogi was only 7 and it was so surprising to her that such a little kid could hold such strength. It motivated her to become stronger because if a 7-year-old could be this strong then why couldn't she. As Sogi left rage filled within Rina as she remembered what the villain said to her. Even though she knew he couldn't hear her she picked him up by the collar and said "Don't you dare speak to my family like that again. I hope you rot in jail for a very long time. I swear if you go near Sogi or anyone I love again it will be the last time you do it." When she finished she threw his head back down on the ground and heard the rumble of footsteps as the rune knights came to take up the demon. She thanked them for coming on such short notice and asked them to give a good punishment for all the pain he caused. As she climbed up the stairs a tear rolled down her face as she pictured her father in the hospital bed. She then wiped it off p[reparing to leave with Sogi. She then climbed completely up the ladder where she met up with Sogi and went home.
