Blood Drive Bonanza! (Ashtver | Angel)

    It was an absolutely beautiful day in the Rose Garden. There were tents aligned along the center of the Rose Garden, keeping the view of the roses in clear view as blood would be drawn from the attendants of this blood drive. The fragrance of roses could be clearly smelled from the tents, and the staff of the blood drive hoped that it would calm the attendants of the patients as their blood was drawn. Blood being drawn from someone could be stressful, so having a relaxing environment such as this seemed to ease everyone.

    As Angel arrived on the site of the Rose Garden, he gasped at the beauty of the whole place. The glistening red roses provided an absolutely wonderful backdrop for the evening. The stark red of the roses and the whites of the tents seemed to compliment each other with perfection. It seemed that whoever planned this event was as careful about their designs as they were about the actual event. Angel smiled as he moved toward one of the serving areas, which had a number of various foods and drinks to be served. It seemed water was going to be a customary drink for some of the patients, while others would probably drink some sort of sweet juice full of sugar. Angel was simply looking forward to the gratifying faces of the patients who he served and Angel was most excited to entertain the children at the blood drive. However, Angel was not the only one who was supposed to go on this mission. Ashtver, whom Angel had only been briefly acquainted with at the guild, decided to go on this job with Angel. Well... It was more like Angel had asked to come along since it was a job he thought he'd be well-suited for. Angel put on a serving uniform that he had previously prepared for himself. He also secretly prepared one for Ashtver as well as a present for doing a job together. Angel hoped that Ashtver would enjoy the present, despite it being suddenly thrown at him.

Ash's stupid grin couldn't leave his face as he helped to serve sweet beverages, provide comfort and escort those who were having their blood drawn at the Rose Garden Blood Drive. It was a lovely little event, and a job offer that he just could not say no to. "Here you go, sir," he said to the young boy whom he helped across the garden to one of the tents and sat him down, handing him one of the juices bundled under his arm. Turning away, he took a moment to admire the scene before him; glittering roses girting a bustling festival of smiling and laughing people who were all donating their blood for a good cause. This was the kind of gorgeous sight he had traveled all the way from Clover Town to see, and Crystal Swan had made that task that much easier with the Crystalli.

Peeking over at one of the tents, he noticed his guildmate, Angel, serving some of the donors food and beverages after being poked by the needle. Ash still couldn't believe he was a guy - a fact he'd learned the hard way after accidentally calling him a girl the first time they'd met. But it also wasn't like the boy avoided it - in fact, he embraced his femininity with a wardrobe of female clothes, a expressive bravery that Ashtver respected.

Heading over with the juice still tucked tightly under his arm, Ash gently tapped Angel on the shoulder with one digit to get his attention. "Heya, how's it hanging? Serving everyone okay, no one fainted yet?" he asked him, quickly flicking his gaze across the room as he momentarily took Angel's focus away. "This is really beautiful, seeing everyone here giving for a good cause. This is what life's about, wouldn't you agree?" he inquired and smiled brightly down at his friend.

    Angel decided that it would be better to give the server's outfit to Ashtver after the whole job was over. That way, it could be a present to celebrate the wonderful job they did at the rose garden! As Angel moved around, serving food and beverages to people, he noticed that Ashtver was looking his way. Angel blushed a little... W-Why was he looking at him with such kind eyes? D-Did Ash l-l-l-like him?! N-No way!! It wasn't possible!! Angel looked away as fast as he possibly could and continued serving the people in the tents and moving them over to a grassy area. With his magic, he summoned a large picnic blanket and laid it along the ground. He helped an older woman to sit down on the blanket and handed her a glass of apple juice. "Here you go ma'am, please don't push yourself too much! If you need anything, my name's Angel, so just holler at me." Angel smiled sweetly.

    However, he was suddenly touched on the shoulder after this whole ordeal was over and he was about to turn around. Angel jumped a little at the feeling of being touched. As Angel suddenly recognized Ashtver, Angel relaxed. Angel breathed a sigh of relief as Ashtver began asking him how things were going. Then he asked him a very strange question about what life was about. "U-Uh... I... I'm doing pretty good Ashtver. A-Actually, do you mind if I call you Ash? Um... I know we haven't known each other for very long b-but I think it's fun to come up with nicknames for each other... A-And uh... Yeah... I guess this is what life is about. I don't really know since... I don't know... Uh... I like helping people. It makes me happy to see other people happy." Angel blushed a little bit as he clutched his empty serving tray across his chest. Angel also decided to adjust his skirt for good measure.

    However, before Ashtver was able to give a response, Angel noticed someone about to faint. Very quickly, Angel's expression changed to that of someone in a dire situation. He pulled out an intricate hair pin from his pocket as he waved it into the air. "Fabric Make Bandage!" The moment Angel finished this phrase, a ribbon of cotton-like fabric flew around the arm of the person who was about to faint. It wrapped around their arm and they seemed to immediately feel better. Angel rushed over to them and held them upright. "Are you alright? I'm so very sorry that I wasn't able to help you sooner. I hope that this bandage helps you out a bit." Angel looked back toward Ashtver. "Um... Ash, could you grab a few finger sandwiches and a glass of juice for this young woman? Sorry to ask you, but I'd like to watch over her for a moment." If Ash decided to grab the sandwiches and the juice, he would probably be able to see that the gesture that Angel did grabbed a lot of attention from the onlookers of the event. He would probably also see that some of the children were absolutely beaming at the opportunity to see real life magic being used on someone for such a casual event.

As Angel tended to the woman as he saw that Ash retrieved the things that he had asked for. As he gave them to the woman, Angel hung around for a moment to make sure that she was alright. Ash seemed to key into this and sat beside Angel, waiting until the woman began eating to speak to Angel about what he wanted to talk about. Angel took the glass of orange juice that Ash had given him and he sipped it a bit as he began making conversation with Ash to take a small break. He figured a small break wouldn't hurt since the number of people getting their blood taken was pretty small for right now.

As Ash spoke, Angel finished the glass of orange juice that was given to him. Ash said quite a few things that made Angel smile, but this helping people was kind of empty for him. He enjoyed helping people, but he wasn't sure whether he did it to actually help people or whether it would just help him gather reputation and get gratitude from people who he had helped. Angel hid himself a bit from showing his true expression by drinking down the very last drops of orange juice. An empty feeling filled his stomach as Ash said that there were too many selfish people running around. Angel gave a smile as Ash said that he could live happily if he helped others, but this smile just made him feel all the more emptier.

Ash then suddenly made a comment about his magic and Angel snapped out of his self-inflicted torment. "O-Oh! D-Don't worry too much about being helpful with magic. M-My magic is really only meant to help people, but it can't really do much else. I'm sure that your magic would be helpful in helping people in another way... Y-You know, like in the way of protecting other people. Like... If an enemy were to appear, I'm sure that you'd be able to defend these people without missing a beat. However... If that were to happen and I was here alone, then I wouldn't be able to defend at all. My magic is useless against other mages by itself, but I'm sure yours is super amazing! I mean, you can conjure blue flames! I can conjure cotton. That's not very intimidating, now is it?" Angel laughed a little bit as it seemed that some of the people from the staff seemed to be packing up. Angel did not notice this, but it seemed that the event was coming to a close.

Angel frowned a little as Ash tried to shoot his own magic down once again. This time around, Angel wasn't going to fight him on it. Angel did not agree by any means. His magic couldn't defeat people. It could only disable them, and even then, it wasn't guaranteed to work if his enemy was much stronger than him. He was also highly limited right now. One of his spells took a while for him to think up in order to help his allies. The dress pattern always had to change because he didn't ever want someone to look ugly.

Ashtver seemed to be looking around and Angel finally noticed that the event had come to a close. At this point, Angel kept sitting where he was. It was possible that Ashtver might have wanted to keep talking in the Rose Garden... Alone. Angel blushed a little as he sat where he was. After a small period of time however, Ash offered hand to him. Angel took his hand and stood up. "Uh... T-Thanks. And I'd love to go back to the guild, b-but uh... I have something for you." Angel ran over to one of the bushes and reached underneath it, pulling out the serving outfit that he had made for Ash. "Uh... T-This is for you. I meant to give it to you at the beginning of the event, but I guess you can keep this as a momento now. Uh... I, uh, don't know if it'll fit perfectly or anything, but I'm kinda okay at guessing sizes."

As Angel presented the clothes before Ash, he was worried that Ash wouldn't like them. They were a present, but he didn't have to accept them. If Ash asked, Angel would probably even make him another outfit. He took them from Angel's hands and unfolded them. He seemed to stare at them for a second, which felt like an eternity to Angel. W-Was he going to like them? Did he like them? Oh dear, it was quite a lot for Angel.

However, Angel was surprised when Ash put the clothing underneath his arm and then pulled Angel into a tight hug. Angel's whole body w-was squished up against Ash's!!!! Angel felt his face turn beet red and his heart began pounding. He hadn't hugged another boy like this ever... It was... Very strange, but very embarrassing and fulfilling at the same time. After a moment in the hug, Ash apologized for not getting him anything. Angel was about to respond, when Ash offered to take Angel to dinner.

W-W-W-W-Was Ash asking Angel on a date?! W-Was that what was happening here? I mean, Angel liked Ash and he made clothes for him, b-but Angel didn't think that Ash might have thought of him in that way. Maybe he was reading too much into it since it was just a gift from him, b-but maybe this was a convenient excuse for Ash to ask Angel out?! Angel blushed a little more as Ash asked this and Angel said, "Uh... Y-You don't really have to take me out, b-but if you insist..." Angel saw Ash's hand reach up for a high five and Angel smacked his hand onto Ash's, all while his face was facing away from him. "Uh... I... Um... Suppose we b-better get going then."
