One thing after another..
As he progressed further into town he could feel his mood shifting. Magnolia Town was truly a sight to see, with the sun peeking up over the ocean's horizon while casting its powerful rays that reflected off every window, brightening up the streets. It truly was a sight to behold. Moving along once more, he was looking around for the building that placed the job in the first place, as he needed things clarified before he could start it. However, while on his way he could hear the sounds of tiny footsteps kicking off against the stone surface, followed by rapid panting. He turned his gaze just a bit to see two loan white puppies rushing past him in the opposite direction.
But past the glance, he didn't give it any further thought. Instead he looked at the flyer once more, not enjoying the fact that he couldn't find the location of the employer.
"Guess now would be a better time than ever to ask for directions." "Uh..pardon me..could you help me for a second?" He smiled apologetically as he found himself catching the attention of a small kid who was following behind his mother.
"Sure what is it mister?" The little boy asked, but what made matters worse was that the kid had the decency to start picking his nose right in front of him.
"Uh..by any chance do you know where this is located." Kong pulled out the flyer and held it in front of the boy, not wanting him to touch it with his..nasty hands. The boy pondered after looking at the paper.
"Oh that's th-" Until his left hand had gotten snatched by a womanly grasp, it was someone who Kong assumed was his mother.
"Son what did I tell you about wandering off, and especially about talking to strangers." She didn't even cast a glance in Kong's direction before snatching her son off , leaving Kong just standing there as he gave off a heavy sigh. Testing his luck once more, he moved further into town and found two older folks playing checkers. They were using barrels as seats, and both of them seemed so intuned with the game that they blocked out all outside distractions.
"Pardon me sirs, do you have a second?" Shifting his gaze between them, neither of them lifted their head in the slightest, and with a shaky move the old man lifted his right arm and slide a piece diagonally on the board.
"Check Mate!" "B-but Earl we are playing checkers, there is no check ma-." "Gahhh don't start crying because you're losing." The old man with giant magnify glasses for specs crossed his arms in satisfaction, the two of them still ignorant of the fact Kong was even there.
"I can help you out traveler." Kong turned to see a man covered in a large robe, who looked like he could be in his mid 20s, 30s at the most. He had a warming smile, but smelled of booze and bad times, what a way to start off the day. But he was the first person who actually gave Kong their time of day.
"Oh yes, I am looking for the location of this." Holding the flyer up infront of him, the man leaned forward and rubbed his chin hair with his right index finger, squinting his eyes like he had bad vision.
"Oh, that old man Mildew's place. Infact..I was headed that way myself." The man smiled.
"I don't mind escorting you there aswell." Kong nodded, and then proceeded to bow.
"Thank you." The man blushed and waved his hands in front of him.
"No need to be so formal, just helping out a fellow man." He ran his fingers through his hair, and turned, motioning for Kong to follow.
