The blind mage sighed, waiting before the door. He waited, green eyes staring at nothing, for the other who had taken the job. Retrieving a stolen item for a noble... he could already sense the evil energy coming from this place. Evil energy was his specialty, after all. He could feel visions threatening to come to him, fortelling the danger he would face within, but the man pushed them down, holding tightly onto his sleeve to keep a grip on reality. The sleeve itself was white, long, and covered part of his hand, whereas the top part of the outfit was black, with a green belt. An outfit he had hoped Megalos would enjoy to see him in.

From what he had heard, his partner for this job would be extremely helpful, though that was all he had been told. Inaris sighed as he waited, wondering what this partner would be like. He knew for certain that he wasn't able to do this alone, Gemini keyholder or not. Knowing full well what he would face on the other side, the man was almost tempted to open the door anyhow. The one thing that stopped him was thoughts of his fiance. Even now, the engagement ring Megalos had given him glittered on his finger, a symbol of the promise they had made to be each other's eternity. Shaking his head to rid himself of such negative thoughts like going through this alone, his white hair went all over the place. The beautiful red jewel that completed his outfit remained in place on his forehead, however.

"She went that way!" a woman's voice was heard as she shouted and pointed in an arbitrary direction that held no significance at all. The sound of feet shuffling as a mob of cameramen, reporters, boys in the middle of puberty, and fangirls went running to where they were directed. "We can't let her get away!" one of the cameramen shouted, making Kaori feel like she was some fugitive while also making her regret not turning down that damned title when she was given it. Inaris would see a girl with whit twin tails and ruby red eyes running through the halls and stopping at the door, looking behind her while gritting her teeth at the sound of her foes getting closer. "Dammit..." she said and looked at Inaris with very fierce looking eyes. The hall they were in contained a single door that Kaori had been informed would lead to certain death for most non-magical folk, and her newly formed fan group and their reporter friends had been coming from the other side.

Kaori turned to face the direction they were coming from and tried to think hard on what to do. If she retreated to the room then they'd follow and be slaughtered, but if she went back then she'd have more cameras in her face. Kaori let out a sigh and said "I'll handle the paperwork later." before reaching into the satchel dangling from her shoulders and pulled out a rectangular blocks. She moved further up and placed it on the ground before running back to the door, opening it and grabbing Inaris by the front of his shirt and pulling them both in. A second later the door would shake violently as the explosion on the other side collapsed the tunnel, trapping the reporters and fan groups on the other side. Kaori fell to sit on her knees before letting out a sigh of relief. She then looked at Inaris and began standing back up, putting on a stoic expression. "Sorry for being late, I was trying to lose them for over an hour and just as I gave them the slip some loudmouth blew my cover."

If Inaris kept up with the Magic Council and their favorites, he would know that Kaori was one of the current Wizard Saints and the fifth strongest wizard in Fiore according to the Magic Council. On top of that, she was also one of Lamia Scale's most powerful members. If he was a cultured man who kept up with the politics of other countries, he'd also know that she held titles of nobility in Pergrande Kingdom, Bosco, and Minstrel. If he also kept up with history, he'd be able to recognize Kaori as the head of the Leraci clan in Midi; a woman with many good things going for her. However, Kaori wasn't so arrogant as to assume everyone and their mother knew who she was. She held her hand out to shake Inaris' and said "My name's Leraci, Kaori Leraci. You can call me 'Kay' if you'd like. Is it safe to assume that you're here to retrieve something that got stolen?" with a very respectful, and gentle tone.

Inaris would notice several things about Kaori that would be abnormal for someone who was allegedly strong enough to level buildings. The first thing was that he wouldn't be able to sense any magic coming from her. It wasn't that Kaori had very low magical energy, or that she was intentionally masking it- something that was impossible to do perfectly... she simply didn't have any. It was as though Kaori was an average human and not a mage at all. If he was a slayer, or had a very keen nose, he'd notice Kaori had no scent either. On top of that, while she moved, even though she stepped on some of the small ferns on the ground, no sounds were produced... Saying she had no magic was inaccurate, it was as though she were a ghost. However, for Inaris, these would be the least of his issues... Kaori had a rather strange blessing and curse that made people feel a natural, emotional and sexual attraction to her. It wasn't something that was a guaranteed relationship killer, but it had caused a great deal of issues for her and others in the past. Some people were mentally strong enough to block it out, some had enough willpower to not act on their sudden desires, but others weren't so strong. Kaori hadn't seen Inaris' ring yet, but even though she didn't know he was engaged, she still hoped that he wouldn't be entranced by her aura.

Inaris let out a long sigh when his job partner-no, Kaori, arrived. "I am here to retrieve what has been stolen, yes. You don't need to be respectful, or formal, the magic council would probably tell you to have me arrested anyhow." He muttered, grudgingly accepting Kaori's hand to shake. He didn't really notice the aura about her, though he did notice a somewhat dim attraction beggining to build. He knew it couldn't possibly be natural, but he let it slide for now, focused instead on thoughts of his lover. If it got stronger he would speak up."My name is Inaris Anicetus. Address me as you wish." He said, not really caring much. All he knew was this woman was supposed to be strong, and he didnt need much more than that to be content. It wasn't like he was planning of forming a friendship for one job after all.

Turning away, he looked to the door instead. He wouldn't ask if his partner was ready, if she wasn't ready she shouldn't be there. The man approached the door, which was full of evil energy. He would open it with a healthy dose of wariness, uncertain as to what was lurking beyond the door. The evil energy felt very strong now, and although it was comfortable for him no doubt the woman would at least feel a bit uncomfortable. "Come on. Standing and talking won't retrieve the stolen object, now will it?" He said, as he stepped through the doors. If Kaori followed behind, no doubt the first thing she would see were the monsters. Inaris himself knew the monsters were likely to be right on the other side of the door, so he pulled out his keys, all silver, with one gold among them. "Open, gate of the Harp Constellation! Lyra!" He said as ge held the key before him. A ring of shadows would appear before him, and the dark version of Lyra would appear in all her glory.

Kaori could feel the disdain for her in Inaris' heart. She could feel that he didn't dislike Kaori for anything she personally did, but rather because she was given the title of a Wizard Saint. His heart was filled with dislike for that specific thing, something that became apparent in his introduction to her. The words left a stain in Kaori's mind as she was stereotyped as being some kind of lap dog for the Magic Council instead of a human being with her own volition. "You don't need to be respectful, or formal, the magic council would probably tell you to have me arrested anyhow." It was something that Kaori would have to address later, after Inaris became more comfortable with her presence. He was being civil for now, which was a step in the right direction. Kaori had come across individuals who decided attacking on sight was a bright idea who soon learned that it was their last, and worst idea. His name was Inaris Anicetus and told Kaori she could address him by whatever name she felt like, something he may come to regret in time. Kaori had just met him and ran into a passive aggressive wall of distrust even though she hadn't done anything to him to warrant such a thing, she had no intentions of giving him a nickname yet- not until he was comfortable around her. "Anicetus-san will do for now." she said with a gentle smile. Coming from Midi, Kaori followed more oriental practices than the western ones that Fiore used. 'Anicetus-san' was the Midi equivalent of Fiore's 'Mister Anicetus'- a show of general respect.

While he didn't expect Kaori to be able to know about the enemies waiting for them on the other side of the door, demons were beings who lived based on their feelings. Their very nature turned them into demons, and Kaori was able to link with anyone and anything to sense their heart. She was well aware of the demons behind the door, their bloodlust coating every fiber of their being. They were angry about people being so close to the entrance to their home and wanted to defend it. Kaori was feeling it through the door, but she showed no signs of having an issue with the sensation. The hatred got stronger as Inaris opened the door and urged Kaori to get moving, an unnecessary action, but not something the ninja would be salty about. Upon entering a massive creature made of darkness was spotted by Inaris who replied by summoning a celestial being, causing Kaori's eyes to narrow on him out of interest. It was odd that he was a Celestial mage since her usual partner was one too, and even she herself was a celestial wizard to a very minor extent. Her keys were tucked away in her satchel where no one could see them so her magic would still be ambiguous to Inaris, whether she used it or not would depend on the situation. Kaori had issues with people getting in her way when she was fighting so she didn't get in theirs either. As a celestial wizard, Inaris knew the strengths and weaknesses of his spirits and would likely choose the best one for the job. Even if he failed at that, Kaori intervening would prevent him from learning from his mistake(s) so she walked through the door with no intention of helping in the battle against his single enemy. As she exited, the door vanished.

Something had been sweeping in from above the door, towards Inaris, that Kaori had almosed missed entirely. It had black skin and blended in very well with the dark environment, the claw that was coming towards Inaris was only a shade or two brighter than the demon it was attached to. Kaori immediately spun around and held her hand out, forming a magic circle in front it that expanded to ten meters wide and stopped the claw entirely. Kaori's magic circle cast a bright, golden glow that illuminated the black demon and gave the jack of all trades style wizard a good look at her enemy. It was thirty feet tall, had ten foot wide shoulders, massive arms with foot long claws. Its incisors were exposed and razor sharp; its eyes looked like tiny white dots on its face. Kaori put on a smirk and said "I'm not as cute as Anicetus-san..." she then vanished from sight along with her barrier spell. Kaori reappeared in the air behind the demon with her leg outstretched, a metal boot was on it that wasn't there before that began glowing as she brought the heel down on the demon. Kaori shouted "Hope you don't mind!" while driving the heel all the way down, sending the demon's head straight into the ground. The demon slowly got back to its feet and Kaori vanished again, reappearing with twelve swords slowly hovering around her in a circle, equidistant from each other. The demon looked at Kaori while letting its arms dangle lazily, the feeling of rage increasing in this one had increased greatly and Kaori could only feel satisfaction that it was acknowledging her as an opponent. The demon took in a deep breath before letting out a loud battlecry and charging towards Kaori at a decent, but not impressive speed. Kaori shot forward with the blades spinning around her, grabbed two of them from the air and vanished, reappeared in front the demon and threw them at its feet. She hit the two clawed feet and pinned them to the floor. The demon swung but missed when the ninja vanished again and reappeared with ten swords, grabbing two and throwing them at the back of its legs. She hit it in the back of its knees, sending the swords all the way through and making the demon release a cry of pain. She wasn't the type to let enemies, not even demons, suffer a shameful death. Kaori vanished once more and reappeared with the eight remaining swords gone and one single sword in her hands. It was pure white, four feet long, and straight from tip to hilt. The sword was only half an inch thick, one inch wide, and double edged. Kaori shouted "Shirofune!" as the blade finished materializing and cut clean through the demon's neck, ending its life. Kaori said "shinu (She-noo)" and an explosion of white energy would consume the surrounding area, Inaris included, but deal no damage to him. It would harm the demon he was fighting slightly if it wasn't already dead, but the demon Kaori killed would be reduced to ash that slowly fell to the ground like snow. Kaori stood up and flicked her white sword, letting it vanish into white mist as the four swords from before turned into silver dust. Kaori would wait for Inaris to finish his fight and only help if he needed it, the battle was still a one on one afterall.

"Lyra, you know what to do." Said Inaris, sightless eyes pointed straight ahead. As Kaori went on ahead and took out one demon, the celestial spirit began to sing at her master's command. Her song would make the demon very, very sleepy... The spirit's song wouldn't last long, but it would be enough to get past the monster, and put it out of commission. "Lyra, keep singing! Kaori, can you guide me? My sense are all messed up in here, and I'm totally blind." Inaris said, hoping he could trust this woman. If Kaori would guide him, the man would follow as swiftly as possible, though the speed of a low ranked dark mage like him versus the speed of a wizard saint was likely no match. If she didn't guide him, he would make Lyra stop singing and guide him instead.

Either way, he was ready to move. "It will stay asleep as long as Lyra keeps singing. Let's leave it alone for now, it's not that strong." He stated, stepping towards Kaori. If she would guide him, the man would follow behind her as they travelled deeper into this demon realm, or whatever this place was. He could hear awful noises all around, but the man chose not to listen to them. He was used to such things. Once they were a safe distance away, Inaris would signal to Lyra that she could stop her singing. In the meantime, Inaris listened for sounds of anything nearby. Since he was blind, his hearing was sharper than the average mage's. But as he had stated earlier, noise was everywhere, echoing in this vast space.

"My senses really are messed up in this place. Noise is everywhere down here, I can't tell if anything is close." He murmured, keeping his voice low so as not to attract anything nearby. Too bad for him, more, weaker beings were nearby. There were many of them, surrounding them. "Lyra, back!" He commanded, as the next fight was about to begin. Saving Tora for now, the man pulled out his Gemini key. "Answer my call, servants of darkness and chaos. Open, Gate of The twins! Gemini!" He called, a ring of darkness appearing in front of him. The man would note only 1 spirit was safe for now, so only 1 of the two little blue beings appeared.

Kaori had seen that her temporary ally had opted to take a more peaceful path instead of outright killing the demon, something that she found odd but didn't have an issue with. 'Was it something all celestial wizards had in common to be so... merciful?' she thought to herself, remembering that her usual partner and best friend was opposed to killing her enemies without proper reason whereas Kaori would make a corpse for the slightest reason. He had mentioned that it would stay asleep and recommended leaving it be, yet he was afraid that Kaori would have orders to arrest him. Kaori had a difficult time believing that Inaris was so terrible that the Magic Council would target him. Inaris had ordered the spirit to keep singing and asked Kaori to guide him, explaining that his sense of vision was reduced in this place. Kaori paused for only a moment to take note of the glowing streams, and bioluminescent foliage around the place that provided more than enough light for Kaori to see. "Let's go." Kaori said, figuring the issue was most likely magic related, like an allergic reaction. She would grab his hand and begin walking in the direction the stream was flowing, noting how there was a stream in the distance that was seeming to get closer as they moved forward.

After some time of walking, it seemed that they were destined to be hunted until one of them dropped dead and was used as demon food while the other escaped, or they both dropped dead and became demon food. Another group of demons that were colossal in size had shown up and Inaris was already a liability due to his blindness. Inaris had called out his a zodiac spirit, gemini, causing Kaori's eyes to narrow on the spirit that came out slightly, taking note that he was a zodiac key holder. Kaori doubted the spirit he called out was a match for Aquarius, but she wasn't one to question power she was yet to see. From what she knew of the constellations, Gemini was the twin spirit- so the magic would either deal with copying something or duplicating things. While similar, they were very different since copying was limited to the user and duplicating could make a copy of anything. The two demons began closing in on the wizards and spirit, this time there being four of them- all the same size but having very slight variations in their appearance, positioning of horns, teeth sizes, etc... Inaris and Gemini would both feel an incredible amount of pain, not the kind like when you're stabbed, but an emotional pain. They'd feel their bodies being weighed down by the pain of loss, the pain of having incredible responsibilities, lives riding on their every decision, an entire country at their mercy- all of this would weigh down on them, immobilizing them and the demons that were approaching completely. Of course, this wasn't the magic of the four demons, but rather the one Kaori who had used her Passionate Burden. She turned to Inaris and asked "Is your blindness caused by the energy of this place, or because of some natural birth defect?" with a calm voice. If Inaris refused to tell Kaori the underlying reason for his blindness, or if he refused her help (as she wouldn't force him to accept it), Kaori would simply say "Understood, I'll try to not be a burden."

If he answered that the blindness was caused by this world, Kaori would place her hand to his temple and say "I was born with various psychic abilities. One of them lets me view the past of others and share it with those around me. It's not magic, but rather a very useful birth defect. There'll be a one second delay in what you see, but it's better than not seeing at all. I'm sure you'll be able to compensate for it, you seem capable." The last comment would be delivered with a friendly and reassuring tone, one that implied it wasn't an idle compliment but an honest opinion. Kaori's left eye would glow with a violet ring around the ruby iris and Inaris would see the world through his own eyes, unclouded by the evils of this strange land.

If Inaris answered that the blindness was natural to him, that he was always blind, Kaori would place her hand on his sternum and say "The elite of Lamia Scale are regarded as gods and goddesses even though we're mere mortals. We simply have the desire to take fate into our own hands, and have obtained the power to do so. This is a spell that a friend of mine taught me, the magic should feel familiar to you." Inaris would then feel energy flowing through him, filling his body and correcting his eyesight. The world would slowly come into full color, and he'd be able to see without the one second delay that her clairvoyance would've caused. The energy filling him would feel very similar to the celestial magic when he summons his spirits since they're both celestial spells.

    Battle

If Inaris chose to let Kaori help him, then he'd see a white aura around himself, Gemini, and the demons while they were standing in the middle of a massive magic circle. If he didn't let her help, he wouldn't see it. Regardless of which option he chose, he'd feel power coursing through the surrounding area. He'd feel rage, an intense desire to protect, and a powerful willingness to kill filling the air. A white energy surrounded Kaori and a fancy, but simple longsword appeared in her hand just before she shot off at a ridiculous speed, leaving a crater behind her and caused a sonic boom from her accelerating to mach 2 and slashing the one of the demons clean in half. She then vanished and appeared behind the second one, cutting its leg and making it fall to a knee. It attacked behind itself by turning and swiping at where Kaori was, but she vanished and reappeared in front its face and stabbed it in the eye with the sword. The demon let out a howl of pain and Kaori formed her shirofune to remove its head, converting the demon to a snow flurry of ashes like the one before. This would leave the two other demons, which Kaori would let Inaris deal with on his own. If he needed help then Kaori would step in, but only if he said he did.
