    Money-maker

It was a sunny, temperate day, and Katherine had decided to pick up a job. She'd been in great need of some money for a while, but had only just recently figured out how to obtain it in this new age. Fiore's most popular magazine, Sorcerer Weekly, had placed an ad asking for a female model. Not much else had captured her attention, so she went along with it. Little did she realise, people in modern times dressed a lot differently than she had before.

As she approached the meeting spot, she saw a few small tents and several people milling around in the small clearing. It was surely a beautiful spot; with towering trees, foliage, and a small creek that split the clearing in two. As soon as she came into the sights of the crew, she was pulled into a tent, clothes were tossed at her and she was ordered to put them on quickly. It was quite an exciting group; she hadn't ever met people so... well, she couldn't really describe them. The crimson-haired mage did as she was told, or, tried to. The attire was definitely strange to her, and for it to be considered clothing was a mystery in itself. The cloth was thin and sheer, colored with pale greens and yellows. Underneath the flowing pieces was a form-fitting, baby blue slip. All of it was so incredibly loose that the woman thought the wind might just take it off of her the minute she stepped outside. She guessed that her favorite part had to be all of the little white and pink flowers scattered throughout the dress.

Suddenly there was a tap on the curtains of the tent and she was pulled from her thoughts.
Carefully, she put the dress on, fidgeting with the pieces and putting them where they were meant to be. However, as soon as she looked into the standing mirror next to her she froze. It was incredibly short and even more so low-cut. She might not have had a very plentiful bosom,
but the tightness of the fabric around her pushed everything to the point of exaggerated curvature. Despite her burning cheeks, she stepped out of the tent, tugging at the lengths,
or lack thereof, of the dress to keep her modesty.

She shuffled into the clearing, her bare feet sinking into the grassy forest floor. Some of the crew that was present voiced their approval, feeding her compliments and urging her to begin posing.
It was at this point that she wasn't sure what to do with herself, so she sat carefully at the edge of the creek and dipped her toes into the cool water. She leaned back on her hands, looked over her shoulder at the photographer and... The camera clicked, snapping her first picture.

Katherine didn't think that this would go too badly and began to move more naturally.

Sitting cross-legged with her hand in the shape of a heart and a bright smile on her face.

Leaning against a tree and staring out into the distance.

Standing in the creek with her hands in her hair, looking on seductively.

The mage knew she was doing as well as she could, but she really never expected to receive so much praise. If she was honest with herself, at some point she had started thinking about her old friend Alec and how she would have posed like this for him if he were still alive. Those emotions fueled her bravado, making for what much of the crew had called her best poses of the day.

When it came toward the end, the sky was shifting into beautiful shades of orange and pink,
the stars peeking through as it faded into a deep blue. The crew said they'd like some extra nighttime shots, with the moonlight being so bright. She didn't have to move this time and let herself relax, staring up into the white sphere with a sparkle in her eyes. A quiet, gentle breeze blew through the trees, picking up her dress and her hair and making them dance in the night.
Earlier, she had picked a flower and set it behind her ear, but now she removed it and admired its soft petals. She inhaled its sweet perfume and closed her eyes with a small smile.

When all was said and done, the shoot had gone fairly well. The crew and the photographers were happy with the outcome, thanking Katherine and handing her her payment. She changed back into her normal clothes before they took off, and as they were leaving the forest she sighed. It had been nice to have some peace for once, a sliver of normalcy. By that she meant, not having to worry about more serious things like how she was going to eat that night. She smiled, her crimson hair bathed in the soft moonlight, much like the clearing itself had been, and walked back to her temporary home.
