The rarest flower
It had seemed so typical, the dust swirled and the little potion bottles hadn't changed position in a millennium. A slight creak from the wooden bench Lester was leaning on ripped him apart. No, he had not been nervous. Most definitely not. The youth had arrived first, apparently the client wanted two mages to go collect a flower, it sounded important, perhaps the mystical plant was a plant of great healing. But they were to meet up here to get the map before heading out The mage himself had taken a great interest in plants and flora, perhaps it had been due to this and his magic, the unprecedented florist, that Lester had taken it upon himself to find a plant in a forest of which he knew little about. Whilst the shopkeeper had warned him of The dangers which hid in the darkening corners beneath the trees the youth was intent on finding this rare flower.
Fingers spread out over the paper they had traced through numerous routes, the ways to advance and retreat to get to the area known for the floral growth would be important to know. The depth of the forest had continuously amazed Lester, the map had seemed small until one had set eyes upon the small diagram showing the distance. He had never gone into the forest, being born far from it and the numerous warnings given to those untrained in combat. Exhaled as he turned around the male had sunk into the bench. It was worth it, for jewels and knowledge on a flower, it was worth it.
Hair tufted up once his hand had run through the tufts, His first job with another person, and his fifth job total, it could go so wrong but at the same time, the excitement of meeting another, the wonder he knew he would feel when picking their brains about their thoughts. A smile had faintly skimmed across his features, the day would go well, he couldn’t prove it but he just had that feeling. The youth had updated his clothing style it wouldn’t be appropriate to wear a lab coat and dress shirt everywhere while exploring! The hems of some loose pants were neatly tucked in, the purchase had been a hard choice for Lester, being tight with money he didn’t want to buy the pine needle green and the pants. But it had been an important purchase, clothing was important to the health of a person and to their survival, a simple shirt had been easily hidden by the light leather armour, dark pants also hid strains. A slight sigh escaped him, the grim feeling of discomfort had crept over him as the sword in his side back had grown heavier with the negative thoughts.
Thinking too hard wouldn’t change anything, burying his nose into the folds of green fabric snaking his neck and shoulders the decision had been mentally made. He would improve, and fight.
