Plague questline 1/5 Solo

I make my way through the land with a smile on my face. Just allowing myself to idly look at things that i pass by. At all the different flora, and wildlife that i come across. Taking in their beautiful patterns and colors as i walk along towards wherever the path takes me. I have been walking for a few days now with the food i have brought along with me being the meals i eat whenever i get hungry. I walk down the path and think on how i got here in my life. to where i am just aimlessly wandering the world with no direction.

I think back to being ran out of the place that i have called home in fear of my magical abilities that i had...unlocked? inherited? I find myself unsure of how i came across this gift, but i will thank it even though it has brought me onto a life of just searching with no direction. Thanking it for allowing me to see what people are like a little bit more truly then what i was being taught. I then think back on how i had discovered a cave a place that i have learned to call home. A home where their is peace, and unity always. Unity between me, nature, and the ground that surrounds me when in a cave. I had then spent a good bit of some years within that cave training away to at least be able to use these abilities of my own free will instead of instinct. Finding myself unsure of how many years i had been in their, only able to tell with the changing weather, and season to give a hint of keeping track of how long i was in their.

I smile excitedly as my thoughts are interrupted by the sight of a town ahead of me. I quickly dash down towards it glad to see some civilization again after so long. Finding myself awed by the sites with my thoughts grinding to a halt quickly.I need money don't I? Well shit time to find a job then i guess. With that i walk into a town and looks around at all the people with amazement. Still finding myself awed like always that their are so many people here. I quickly find one person and pulls on their sleeve to ask them where i can find a job i could do to. Excuse me where can i find jobs to do get some money? I ask a random male.

The person gives me a weird look at seeing this girl with her faced covered asking where jobs are located at. Well just go down the road and take your first right. You'll see a board that has lots of papers on it. You should be able to find something their. The male informs me. I just nod and quickly dashes out without saying another word.

I walk along the path that the person pointed me down to. I keep my hands in my pocket as i look around the area making sure to keep myself aware of what is around me at all times encase someone would try to attack me when i am not looking. The dangers of that being very prevalent if Verus is to be believed. I look down realizing i'll need a good codename also if Verus' codename is that of Verus. I think on my own name and try to think of something that would be simple, but not matching anything to my name or i could get found out rather easily. I think through all the names that i can think of and looks towards the stars as i grin a bit thinking i could maybe try to find my answers their.

Before i know it i find myself in front of the questing board as i look through my options and sees one titled Plague. I raise my eyebrow at such a time not really knowing what it actually means. I then read what it says and frowns never having seen such flora in my time during being outside in my cave for 8 or 9 winters. I nod my head as i pocket the quest and starts to look for these flower samples that are supposedly somewhere near this village. I quickly start to walk around the area as i remember then that it mentions some type of herbalist being around that would probably be useful to talk to them. I quickly turn around and goes to the address that is given as i am silently grateful for the fact that i know how to follow street signs now.

I arrive at the herbalist's house as i knock as hard as i can when i stop i am greeted to the site of a woman in a outfit of some kind i tilt my head finding it to be rather interesting to me, but i do catch her rather uncomfortable look. I am here for the job you posted miss. The one about the plants that are hurting people i wish to be of help as much as i can. I inform her in a polite kind tone. She just nods her head and leads me inside which i happily follow and takes a seat with her sitting at the other side of the coffee table within the room separating us.

So then what are these plants like? Looks and such you know. I tell her as she nods her head in understanding and speaks. Well they are slightly different but their seems to be three types of variants that have been found. One is rather small and doesn't take much to cut from what we have found. Another is about as big as our hands that has two leaves on it and takes about twice the amount of work as the first. The last however is the most dangerous. It has three leaves that will attack you like the other two if you approach it. She says as i nod my head and smiles seeing that i will be fine since i don't need to get close to it. Only need to use my magic from a distance. This will be easy ma'am i will take care of this problem for you without any issues. I say confidently to her as i get up as she looks up to me.

Well before you go you should know that their is a field just outside of town towards the northeast where these plants are located mainly. Not all of them are their but they are scattered about hear and their. You most likely will find them also during your walk towards such a field. She says to me as i nod my head. Thank you now if you will excuse me. I say and bows as i exit the home to go towards these dangerous plants.

'Monster Dice' :

I walk along the road with my hands in my pockets as i look around at the people chatting and enjoying themselves with what they have. I chuckle a bit as i just walk through this place beanstalk. I try to remember why the name sounds familiar as i then grin remembering this is the place called weird plant or weed by Verus. Interesting seems like i am here doing what i need to do then to try and match Verus' prowess in combat and other activities. I grin seeing this as a sort of competition now to prove that i could do anything he could. I quickly move through the streets faster now with a excited look on my face as i get ready to harm these plants to get the samples that the herbalist wanted. I then think on that actually on how could i get these things that the herbalist's want? I look around and sees all these buildings and grins having a idea on how to do this.

I walk down a ally rather quickly and glides my hand along the stone building that makes up the ally as i quickly form a dagger within my hand that i quickly hide away within my cloak. Not caring that what i did could count as property damage by harming a buildings structure. I exit out the other side of the ally and makes my way to an exit of the town grinning rather happily. Having made my weapon that i needed to cut off the plant to get the samples that i need for this herbalists. I frown a bit at that as i hope i can find the appropriate amount for that also. To get what they need to analyze them all. As i walk out of the town i make my way into the forest with a smile on my face now as i am rather excited to get started with doing my first ever job for someone. It makes me curious how easy this will be. I then pause and realize this will be very easy since all it is, is just attacking plants that can't harm me at all since i can attack for a distance.

I look towards my surroundings trying to spot any signs of those weird plants that i believe the herbalist called purple in color. As i inspect the area for it i see a small hand sized flower that has two petals. I nod my head seeing that it is the middle ground in strength for these flowers. Seeing this i grin as i prepare to attack it. I hold my dagger in one hand that is within my pocket as my other hand gets ready to do anything that could be necessary. Like blocking a sudden attack from anywhere, or to jump out of the way of an attack. As i look towards the little flower i just shrug and use my magic to hit the flower with a small earthen spike while i am at a distance from it. The spike going through the base of it as i see the flower try to move to sting the earthen spear. However, since it is made of earth it can't do anything. I chuckle a bit at the sight of this knowing this will be easy to take these ones out since all it is, is a spear and then a slice with my dagger.

I walk over to the plant with a smile on my face as i take out my dagger made of stone and quickly and efficiently cuts the thing from the bottom of it slicing into it with ease as i then put away the dagger once more. I also call back the earthen spear into the ground as it has served its purpose of harming the flower and then allowing me to cut it up. The flower seemingly being able to take two D Rank attacks to survive. I nod my head to keep that in mind as i can imagine then that the smallest and weakest of all this will only take my dagger to kill which will be useful for getting a good sample from all of this. As i look towards the purple flower that can sting people i am rather curious myself how it is working as i make sure to keep in mind how this job is going to turn out and if it will go anywhere else. The fact that these things can mess with nature bothering me rather greatly in that it seems unnatural on every level.

I pause as i think the word unnatural as i remember Verus says that nothing is true since magic can mess with the very foundations of our reality. I look towards this flower and has a theory going already that this might be magically enhanced or formed in some way to attack others for whatever reason that could be. It makes me rather worried if whatever these things sting people with if it is some type of poison or, effect that would happen later rather then sooner to try and put people into a false sense of security. After having thought this for a few minutes i carefully pick up the sample of the flower as it seems to have lost whatever effect is running it as i then put it into my pocket as i make my way forwards deeper into this area as i find myself worried why humans would tamper with nature in a negative way. Is this some sort of project to try and create a new drug? A slow building way to make people afraid to traveling between towns because of this flora that could be a invasive species. Maybe this is the beginning of some sort of weapon that can be used on entire populaces if they can perfect whatever is hurting the people that get stung by these things.

I look upon the next piece of flora i find just a small little one that i can guess is the weakest variant of all these as i just take my dagger out ready to end it as need be for this. However, i am rather careful to not get stung by this not wanting to figure out personally what causes these people to be sent to the hospitable do to just a simple sting. Knowing that shouldn't really be happening since stings aren't needs for hospitals only poisons or other type of things that would go with it.

I walk over to the flower before i get within throwing range of it so that i don't need to get near it. I grin a bit thanking the herbalist mentally for having informed me how close i need to be to strike each of them. The first two only attacking if i am within its personal space. However, the last supposedly has some sort of way of attacking others who aren't right up against it which makes me curious how big, and how it would even attack me with whatever it has planned.I quickly look back at the small little thing and just throws my dagger hard and fast as it cuts right through the bottom portion as a diagonal angle. I grin a bit as the rest falls off leaving a perfect sample for me to take back to the herbalist once i collect the rest of them all.

I walk on over to my dagger and takes it out of the ground as i admire it with a smile running my fingers gently along the blades stone making as i just love my powers. That their will always be a weapon at my hand when i need it no matter what. I remember the first time that i did that which was a accident. While within my cave before the first frost took over i had formed a claw around my hand and had used it to fight off a wild bear that was within the cave. Having killed it and used its fur to make my first jacket to help me survive the cold. Having used any extra of its pelt for a warm blanket. I smile a bit not hating the bear for doing that and trying to kill me as i know it is just part of the circle of life. Instead of hating it i in fact appreciate the bear doing so since it has allowed me to realize one of my magical talents within me that i could always use no matter what.

As i stop reminiscing i take the piece of flora off of the ground and twirl it a bit between my fingers and then pockets it in a separate pocket figuring that separating them by size would be for the best since otherwise i could lose track of how many of one type of sample that i do find during this. I look around the area wondering if their are anymore small ones that would be easy to just kill and end right their. To take it for sample readings of how it is doing what it is. Stinging people hard enough to send to the hospital. Also to see if i spot any strong variants of these things. Knowing that if i do so it would be of great help in getting a head start on all of that. To kill of these evil flora things.

I find none of these abnormal flora in this part of this area and continues on my way.

As i walk through the the forest looking for this supposed area where their is suppose to be lots of these little things, or did she say their would be a guanteed few over their? I find myself unsure of the answer to that question as i continue walking along the woods as i look around at everything, but also putting a good bit of my focus of always trying to look out for more of these weird weeds as the herbalist likes to call them. I shake my head at such a name as these weeds to me just seem like flowers that humans don't want to keep around because of whatever reason. The most common i have seen is them being a rather invasive species that could kill of other plants and flowers.

As i look around i find myself curious of what i am to do in my spare time as i just take out my dagger and tries to form it into one of the many weapons i had seen while looking in that library with Verus. All the weapons that i could've used for a primary weapon, but had instead gone with the choice that i did so i can gain the best weapon for versatility. I look to the ground and touches it and then grips it as the ground forms around my grip as it forms into a longsword as i swing it around rather clumsily getting pulled slightly by its weight. The sword seemingly spinning me along with the swing of it. I look towards this blade curious why it is doing so as i look at my other hand and tries grabbing the sword and then swinging it around.

I grin a bit as it seems that works well enough to be able to handle that as it seems the bigger the weapon the more strength or i will have to hold it with two hands it seems. I look at the long sword i have created and wonder why that is the fact. Why do some weapons just swing normally while others will make me move alongside them. I grin a bit as i find this another interesting challenge as i then pause and realize this sword is heavier then a dagger. Within that second i chuckle and realize the weight of the sword must've made the difference. I grin a bit at that though as i realize the lighter the material the easier i could wield bigger things. Though it would also mean sacrificing strength which is something i don't really enjoy that much.

I pause as i look forward and spots another two leafed plant in fact their is two of them. i nod my head at the sight of that as i hold my sword and just let it grumbles back into being a mix of dirt and rock. I walk forward and thinks through the spells that i do know.I grin as i snap my fingers as rocks embedded into the ground shoot out of the dirt as i get a range from a small pebble to the size of a hand. I quickly fire them at both of the plants as they both seem rather weak but still moving somehow. I nod my head at this as i take out my dagger ready to cut them both down to size and to continue on my rather way with this job. Just finding myself curious of what would await me at the end of this. Hopefully a good pay. I make a note in my mind to check right after i cut these two plants into nothing to see what is the pay for this.

I move on over to the two hand sized two leafed weeds as i hold my long sword as i keep my distance from them as best as i can. I then just shrug as i break the sword down into two daggers and quickly throws them at the flora as they get cut into nothing as i look at them and waits a bit once more till i pick them up worried that if i did pick them up earlier then minute or two after i am finished with them they would be able to sting me. After the two minutes pass i grab the cut up weeds and adds them to my middle strength pocket of where i am separating these weeds or flowers. Whatever the herbalist will wish to call them after she inspects whatever they are doing.

I nod my head happy with the result that i had as i continue on my way towards the supposed clearing that is left for all of these things as i continue playing with the stone dagger that i kept. Having left the two dirt/stone daggers in the ground to return to what it once was. My weapon making abilities not keeping stable if i am not touching them after an hour or two. I quickly do the math in my head as i realize i have killed four out of the supposed seven weeds that are in this area as i realize the clearing must be where the source of these things are coming from. However, that does then leave the question of what is producing these things? Are they all coming off from one big version of them, or is it from a mage who is messing with nature. I frown at that fault and clench my hands willing to hurt anyone no matter who they are if they are messing with nature.

My fierce loyalty and protectiveness stemming from how i view nature as my home that is all around me always. I clench the stone dagger tightly as it refuses to break as i grin at that seeing that stone is much stronger then dirt and rocks. I find myself rather pleased with that as i know i could use the bit of metal i have on me to form a weapon, but taking from the environment around you is much more fun. Especially if it is from humans since then i am just giving back what they stole from nature. I pause at the slight realization of how hypocritical that sounds as i then also take out the job poster and nods my head at seeing how much currency this job will give. Figuring it is better then nothing, and might be paying well possibly, but i have no real way to tell if that is the case or not.

I let my feet continue to guide me along the forest as i start using my stone dagger to mark the tree as i walk past them figuring it will help if i ever end up going in a circle. To always mark the trees to keep track of where you have been being one of the most important things of traveling, but not so much the fact if you are trying to stay hidden. I grin a bit as i think of Verus' power of him being a illusionist. With that ability he could be a good member of one of those dark guilds since people would never really see Verus till it was way to late.

As i continue to walk i find the clearing that the herbalist mentioned there would be. In that clearing i find three of those three leafed variants of these flora. I sigh softly realizing this could get a bit drawn out rather quickly. I quickly go over my mind which spells should be ready by now, and which i haven't used yet. After thinking for a bit i nod my head having a good idea on how to proceed with this plan of attack against all these weeds that are attacking other people for getting near them. I get just out of their reach but close enough for me to use the attacks that i have planned. Getting within 60 meters of all three of them. I grin as i start with my earth make:Skewer as around these three weeds a bunch of spears from from the ground and thrusts into them entirely at their stem. Trying to get rid of the base of them all to try and topple the things to make them extra weak to be unable to do anything. I smile as i hope that becomes the case since it would make my job rather a lot easier in all of this.

I watch as they all seem to get agitated as they all sting the earthen spears as the spears just fall apart as their need is done for me as i look towards these rather large weeds that are bigger then my hand. I look from my hand towards the weeds and considers that they still aren't to much for me stomping on them but it would be rather annoying having to deal with it all of getting closer to them in this fight. I look towards my daggers as i put it against the ground and combines the two of dirt and stone together to form a new weapon. The blade is that mostly of dirt and stone like other weapons i usually make when traveling on the road, but this one specifically has a sharp stone edge so that when it cuts it will actually cut through it.

I grin as i hold the great sword in both of my hands as i stab it into the ground for now so i can prepare for the next start of my attack so i can get all of them with good damage and to try and end this rather early in hopes of trying to figure out who has been messing with the nature that i care for. That being a heinous crime punishable by death or a fate worse then it in my eyes. I continue to wait for the right moment as i just prep the spell as i send my magic into the ground to start pulling up all the different rocks that can be in the ground to use against the opponent before me. I grin as i now have pebbles to hand sized rocks floating about me.

I look at the three plants and quickly release all the rocks at each of them pelting the stem of the weeds to try and knock them into submission by taking out the base of the entire thing. I watch as they squirm once more trying to get back into commission which works sadly against me. I sigh softly and picks up my great sword into my hands wobbling and a bit off balance in every way possible since i have never wielded a great sword before, so for me to wield such a huge and slightly heavy sword has got my balance and ability to stand without any difficulty rather thrown out the window at this point. I look towards my blade and the three weeds as i get ready to rush in and slice them all up into pieces. I bend my knees and holds it behind me as i plan to go in swinging like crazy and without much direction honestly.

I look at these purple flowers as i know they shouldn't be this easy if these are the big bad ones of this whole area so they should be rather difficult if anything if they manage to send people to the hospital with those stings of theirs. I frown more as i find myself hooked onto that one little detail of that. That these flowers can somehow send people to the hospital when it should be impossible that they would have no idea what is sending them to the hospital or even better they tell the people trying to collect them what causes people to be sent to the hospital. I sigh softly in slight frustration as i'm letting that one little detail annoy me rather greatly for no reason at all in my eyes. I still wonder if it would be possible to find out if they are poisonous from how they look, but from what i know i think the answer is know since the only indication is they are purple that is the best i got for them being poisonous at the moment.

However, i don't dismiss the idea since it is possible and i'm just missing something be it a physical appearance or possibly something within the inner mechanisms of this weed that allow it to look rather peaceful but attack others. Maybe it is like venus flytraps and then it is some what alive in the sense it can move like that and attack prey then try to digest them. If that is the case then it would have to be some kind of poison that slows down and then immobilizes a target so the flower could then get its prey. I then think to other options this weed could be using and it could be some type of poison that is ending people up in the hospital, but if it was poison then shouldn't people be able to detect it with magic, or whatever fancy machinery they have in those places to try and figure out why someone would be needing to be at one.

I look at this flower and then sighs just thinking humans are just weird and don't know how to do things that great. However, at the same time i am human to i just try to ignore that fact to make me feel better about how i live my life. Not wanting to be fully human in the form of always being suspicious, but it is a necessity if i wish to survive.

I hold my great sword and quickly moves forward as i swing my blade as i cut each of these strong variants of these weeds as they all fall over as i back away from the weeds trying to sting me for trying to get close to them as i grin happily as i then reform the dagger made of stone while letting the rest that made up the great sword just crumble into nothingness. I smile happily as i hold the stone dagger and puts it into my pocket as i add these weeds into the third pocket i have which is a pants pocket as i then make my way back towards the town that i came from. Having a rather happy smile on my face as i do so.

As i travel along the way i look around and seeing what looks like not everything fading away after that as it seems these weeds aren't connected or at the very least they can grow after a bit and sustain themselves without any host weeds to keep them alive. I nod my head keeping that for myself as i wonder which it is for this invasive species of flora. Are they some sort of network that is connected together, or are they just spreading like those wishing flowers do. By spreading their speeds in some manner to go farther and to spread its species further and further while trying to choke out the other life in the area like weeds tend to do once they are left unchecked for to long. On my way back i back sure to use my dagger to cut down any weak variants of these weeds that i saw since i may as well since my dagger can end them. With myself taking all the weaker variants with me till i had three in my pocket just so i could balance out all of them. Having three normal, three weak now, and three strong.

As i get closer to beanstalk a i nod at the guards that are stationed their to protect the town from any clearly dangerous people. However, they know who i am from having seen me left and come back. As i enter the town i say to them just encase. I came back from a job for taking care of those weeds that have been sending people to the hospital. I inform them to avoid any possible arrest on my person. Once inside the town i quickly make my way where i formed my stone dagger and puts it back into place to make it so no damage was their at all and i can't be arrested if people every figure out my magic and point to me for vandalism if pieces of stone go missing.

I make my way over towards the Herbalist shop passing by people and guards as i manage to keep my cool the entire way through. A bit use to all the noise and flashiness of being within a normal society. However, i do find it difficult to deal with any overly... intriguing people. The types that wear strange outfits, and have even stranger personalities to go with said outfits. Especially if said people are particularly loud i think i would attack them rather then listen to them even though others might laugh at their antics that are meant to be funny in some way that i don't understand.

As i arrive at the house i nod with a smile glad to be back at the herbalist's address as i knock on the door as the young woman comes out again with a smile. Oh you're back! So soon at that please come within my home so you can show me these strange weeds that have been harming the people of this peaceful town. She says urgently as i walk into her home or shop as she requests me to. I take out of my pockets the 3 samples of each variant she had told me existed as she takes them with rather excited way. She looks to me with a smile. Thank you so much miss...i never got your name did i? She says rather confused by that as i nod my head as i realize i have to make up a alias right here and now.

As i look at her and think i just say what comes to mind that i think would fit. You may call me Chandra miss herbalist. Their is no need to thank me either miss i am just helping out others where i can. However, i do know their is a pay behind this that i wouldn't mind collecting from you if possible. I say in a polite tone not wishing to seem rude, but just wishing to receive the payment i was promise. Oh yes! sorry about that let me get that for you. I hear her say as she quickly comes back after 2 minutes of searching for it. She comes back with 500 Jewels to give to me as i happily accept the reward she gives me. I would like to keep in contact with you if possible encase this becomes far more dangerous then what we initially thought it was going to be. Their is still just so much to learn about this plant that has never been seen before! She says in a rather excited tone.

I instead frown at such excitement as i see these as a nuisance. I would like to be kept in touch if possible to find a way to put them on the extinction list miss herbalist. They are clearly a danger if they are harming people, and need to be put down at all costs. That is why i would like to remain informed on your progress. Also, we don't know yet if their is magical foul play involved you know? This could be a set up to a dangerous plan, or just a natural migration i just don't know. I inform her of possible options that could be happening as she just rolls her eyes as i frown a bit more at such the obvious visual sign that she doesn't take my words seriously in anyway possible. However, the herbalist doesn't see such emotions on my face do to the visor that i wear.
