Adina Jibi ⍉ Guildless ⍉ D-Rank
Vehicles were foreign to the strawberry blonde, she was used to traverse the deserts and wastelands on foot, it's untamed terrain was sort of hard to use any sort of vehicle on. It also didn't help that the tribe that she is a part of, isn't very technologically inclined only knowing some things from things they've stolen from travelers they ransacked. Even when they've stolen these things, they don't really know how to use it, and they don't really have the kind of free time to try and figure them out. So that's about it. So to Adina, these things were almost frightening, they were like magical metallic beasts that had their own individual roars. Though they only appeared to traverse along the wide black stone pathways that was in almost any city she has been in so far, so as long as those were avoided, the cars could be avoided. But she figured, since she was here and was going to be here for who knows how long until she reaches her goal, she might as well make herself familiar with them. So what would be better then to try and learn how they work.
So here the girl was in the place that housed probably the most amount of vehicles in all of Fiore, Motor City, as it was called. Again, like in most of her other jobs Adina has done, she made it to this place by illegally riding a train to get there. So as planned, she was going to get herself acquainted with these humongous beasts. Well not that big, she has seen bigger creatures, they were only about half the size of any grown elephant that she's seen. Then again these things ranged in sizes, some of them bigger then others. So she made her way into a large area which held a bunch of these cars, all of them just sat there, unmoving. All in front of a small building, she made her way over to the building after seeing a couple of people, one older and one younger, enter it. Her blue eyes surveyed the inside of the building, not that many people. But all that were there looked either really stressed, upset or happy, what was going on here exactly? Absentmindedly she wandered over to the counter, where a very bored looking person sat. They looked up at her from the desk, the two stared at each other for a few seconds before the other person spoke. "You here for your test?"
Test? What test? These questions were plastered across the tribal girl's expression, the bored person rolled their tired eyes and continued in their gravelly voice "You know, driver's licence?" they said with an aloof sounding attitude. Adina was still confused but she nodded slowly, then the nod sped up and she grin and said confidently "Yes, of course I am" but she was not, she had no idea what she was setting herself up for. The person sighed "Alright an instructor will be right with you, please head out back" with a stubby thumb they pointed to a door behind them and to the right, they dropped their hand and watched the girl with a suspicious gaze as she exited. The fire mage paced the parking lot, bored, what was she even waiting for again? Oh yeah, some kind of driving instructor, whatever that was, what was she driving? She turned her blue gaze towards the door and watched as a over six foot tanned bulky woman walked out. Through glasses she glared down towards Adina with a sharp and calculating gaze, she held a clipboard with one hand and she reached out a fist towards the teenager, as to drop something in her hands. She cupped her hands underneath and keys dropped into her hand, she stared at it for a few seconds, she lifted her gaze to watch the large woman gesture towards a small car.
The both of them walked over to it, the instructor climbed right in the passenger's side, this is when the hyena girl realized that this is what she was driving. She also realized that they were not living things, but things controlled by that of humans. Strange. After standing besides the small car she climbed in the driver's side, bending her body to fit inside, not having as much trouble as her teacher did to get in though. She dropped herself into the seat, Adina looked at the key in her hand the she looked around before finally finding where it belonged. She inserted it and turned, she was expecting to unlock and open something, but instead the beast awoke with a roar. It startled her, but a grin spread across her expression, she heard the large woman write something down on her papers. She placed her hands on the steering wheel and turned it back and forth, nothing happened. Feeling the pedals at her feet she pressed them, one didn't do anything, and another made a sound and acted as it tried to move the car forward but couldn't. She frowned, her blue gaze looked at a blinking light with a picture on it, she wasn't sure what it meant but she ignored it, the woman wrote more on her papers.
Finally after a few minutes of silence the girl moved the stick that got her out of parking, then pressing on the gas pedal they lurched backwards. "That's not right" she muttered to herself, she moved the lever more and pressed the pedal again. They jolted forwards, she grinned again with a giggle. She pressed down again, harder this time, while turning the wheel. Instead of leaving through the exit of the driveway, she rammed into a fence and drove through it. The instructor looked with shock, but they appeared to have seen this kind of thing before, they looked like they were about to say something, but Adina turned the wheel and they took a sharp turn making them fall towards the left of the car.
Screeching from the wheels could be heard, she straightened the car, and was headed straight for another. Instead of following instincts, she headed straight towards it, it veered and crashed into a rail. The car behind it stopped suddenly but veered also. The instructor shouted for the girl to stop, but she didn't listen so the older woman yanked the wheel. They would've crashed into a pole if she didn't figure out what the brake was. "What is wrong with you?! Have you even driven before, do you even know how a car works?! GET OUT!!" the lady yelled at the girl, so she pushed open the door and ran out with fits of giggles. Easy to say that she didn't get her driver's licence, maybe another time.
