Once again, Leila was approaching this place. The Fat Monsterland. A name that in itself swelled with the nastiness some monsters could bring. And yet, Leila wasn't happy with this assignment at all. The orders were to destroy the core of their operation, attack their base directly and eliminate any and all monster guards. Any other mage brave enough and with a power to back them up in a fight would surely accept such assignment right away, but she was reluctant. The fact that these 'monsters' organized proper attacks and that meant they actually possessed proper intelligence. They were not mindless savages that did not know what they were doing. Rather than following their base instinct that drove many monsters to kill, they followed hate and aggression. So what exactly about this made the girl consider her options this time? She had sworn an oath to herself a long time ago to never take a life of a properly sentient being. And these monsters clearly were like that. The order was to eliminate but she had absolutely no desire to actually take any of their lives. At least not with her own hands. In other words, this contract created an undesired conflict within the Caretaker's heart. Anyone who was even remotely pacifistic would have such troubles here it seemed. But at the same time, she was compelled to be here. Not only because the magic council ordered it, but because there was a real threat in these monsters and whatever organization they were part of. And so she found herself at a crossroad where she had to decide what to do. A plan was already formulating in her head, but she was unsure if she would be truly able to execute it.

Another reason why she was compelled to be here was the fact that she had managed to face the waves of these monsters that wished to leave this land and attack Earthland, kill innocents. The only thing about that was - she did not remember it at all. It happened after her revival, which meant that Unknown’s miracle power erased it from her reality. It certainly happened, people filled her in plenty. But it was still somewhat hard to believe it all. Not to mention that she had been with Terith Blaire, an old friend of hers during that task. She was looking for him for a time so long that it might have as well been forever. And now she did not even remember it on her own, it was nothing short of frustrating and infuriating. Her fist would clench as she moved through the bushes and between the trees. Moments like these were hardest for her as a mage and even a Wizard Saint. Force to take action when she did not really want to. Two decisions, not one of them good. It was the reality that she always despised, despite loving and adoring this world as a whole. In the end, she just signed and looked through the last layer of this forest that served as her little hideout.

From there, it was more like a desert of stone and dried dirt without any grass. And in the middle of a giant open field lied the enemy base. It seemed pretty well guarded from the outside and not to mention its location. One that would make it completely impossible for someone to sneak up on them. Only a full frontal assault was possible, which was once again somewhat problematic due to the fact, that primordial seal was still affecting Leila’s body. In other words, she was unable to use most of her magic. Thankfully, she had her trusty mechanical blade by her side. And of course, Melon was by her side as well, sneaking right by her side. This wolf was the only ally she expected to have in this mission of hers, so she wasn’t exactly staying here to wait for others. As far as she was informed, the last time she was to this place, she was in an airship filled with mages headed to the front lines of this war. But right now, it was an infiltration mission where she had to destroy this enemy base and allow others to shift the tide of this clash of forces. It just made her sigh. When there was a war, not only one side would suffer, but both of them. That said, the losing side would still lose much more than the winning one.

And the victors would become the new justice of this world. No matter if their ideals were truly good or evil, they would be the new supreme force that everyone would have to follow. In this case, it was most likely that the Magic Council and the world of mages would come out on the top, regardless of Leila’s success or failure here. She always worked with the council, ever since she officially became a legal mage. And that was what first earned her the position of the Rising Star and then more recently a Wizard Saint. Once again, a title she did not even remember obtaining until someone mentioned it and explained everything. All of this confusion was most certainly not helping her. But there was no other option, she just had to deal with it. Retreating into the forest for now, she would sit down and start meditating to saturate her body with magical energy before she would engage the monsters in battle. She had to be as prepared as possible since she no longer had the option of just warping away from dangerous situations if it came down to it. She was probably still immortal, but she wasn’t exactly interested in testing that, especially after what happened when she tried to sacrifice herself to save Jiyu. Right now, she did not need any more restrictions put on her body, else she would have to completely give up working as a much. It was hard enough doing this without the use of magic already.

She had no association with any Guilds the female had absolutely no affiliation with most of the wizardly world. There were two types of mages in the world, those who wanted her head as a trophy and those that considered her species in danger and thought she needed their protection or to be record before she went extinct. Itova disliked both those sorts of humans, and never drew a line between humanoids and humans themselves.  Add in the fact she could not touch most other dragons without hurting them, and she had to work on finding some intelligent animals to socialize with or she would just kinda spend all of the remaining time she had in this world alone. Considering the lifespan some dragon's lived to, even if she told herself it was alright to spend all that time alone, Itova was not actually looking forward to it.

She was approaching Fat Monster Land but it had nothing to do with the reasons those in this magical word often did so, nothing near as luxurious as glory seeking. Instead the large beast was heading towards the destination to complete a very simple task, see if any of the monsters were intelligent enough to serve as companions. Of course, if she met a giant fish she would just eat that. Of course, as she went deeper into the land, she noticed that it was likely griffons calling the shots, and well she did not like that idea either. You see, Dragon's were clearly the best flyer's but she had been told once or twice since moving to Fiore that Griffon's thought they deserved that title, clearly they were wrong.

Malsvire realized this was a war zone, not the sort of creatures she wanted to befriend, they were actively trying to cause trouble. When a dragon associated themselves with those that tried to cause issues? Most of time that certain dragon ended up getting itself killed in someone else's battle, she was not about to turn into some hero. "You." the feathered beast landed behind someone she had spotted from the sky with raptor like vision, wings beating as she lowered herself to the ground carefully. Large optics blinked as her neck craned and her head tilted to get a better look at the eared girl. "Don't think too much, don't comment on me being a dragon, and I'll help fight those monsters if I get to hang out around the wolf from time to time or you can direct me to other animals that are not dragons. Deal?" she did not want to deal with the nonsense of solid beasts, Itova simply wanted to have company for a while, she was very much a lone wolf, but even a lone wolf sought for the comfort of a pack eventually. Only she was routinely denied that comfort.

Monster's tears Empty Re: Monster's tears

    Leila Vergious Golden Phoenix A-Rank

Leila’s instincts alone were sharp with her new form and the same could be easily said about her now enhanced senses. Even in the state of meditation, she was quite easily able to feel a presence of a new shadow on the ground, slowly growing larger as the wings moved through the air and caused it to vibrate, creating sounds that carried throughout the small forest. Considering the identity of the strongest of monsters she would have to face, it was a fair assumption that she was found out by the enemy forces before she could even reveal herself on her own. This caused her to roll backward and grab the hilt of her sheathed blade as she looked in front of her with an analyzing gaze. It was not exactly what she expected. No feathers for the start. Actually, scratch that! There were feathers, but mainly it was scales. Obviously, she figured out that it must have been one of the Griffins descending and challenging her to a duel. But instead, she found herself right in front of a drake. Or at least that was what Leila thought. After some more thorough examination, she quickly came to the conclusion that this might have been a rather young dragon who yet had to grow to the proper size, hence why it was so tiny in comparison to what you would normally see from this species. Still, a creature like this descending was not exactly the most pleasant sight, considering the even Leila went through not all that long ago.

Thes information was probably spreading across the entirety of Fiore by now. A giant Golden Dragon attacked Hargeon and two mages present managed to drive it off. Suffice to say, dragons were now more or less symbols of enemy forces incoming to the Caretaker. At least until this one spoke. Yes, dragons were highly intelligent creatures, often exceeding humans in their IQ. But they rarely spoke to humans unless they were completely accustomed it. And the way this one spoke, well… it was a bit odd, to say the least. And with no clear indication of a hostile intent, Leila came to the final conclusion of this being not wanting to tear her into bloody bits. At least not yet anyway. And if it did, then it would also probably find that Leila was a little tough cookie to chew through. “Apologies, but thinking is something I’d rather do more than less. And if you want to spend time with my companion, you’d do better asking her directly.” Talking to something that was not a humanoid was actually rather normal to the girl. After all, she traveled through Bosco for a good bit in the distant past. A land that is filled to brim with magical creatures that can speak without any issues. And Melon kinda fell into that category as well. The wolf was rather intelligent despite not looking the part more often than not. She would let out a single bark at the dragon and sit down next to her owner’s leg.

Still, this situation was… well, it most certainly was unexpected. And while there was no obvious intention of hurting the girl, nothing could truly guarantee that this dragon was not with the monster army, trying to lure her out. Not that it had to, as a rather uncomfortable noise reached their ears and started getting louder. Realizing what it was, Leila ducked and forced Melon’s head to the ground with her hand at the same time, the trees behind her suddenly being torn apart by a rather big iron ball flying at high speed. “Are they seriously able to use something as deadly as a cannon?!” Saying that to herself, she grew visibly restless. Her position was compromised, most likely because the monster noticed that dragon landing from the skies and decided to take it out. Which at least meant that it really wasn’t with them. In any case, she now had to move in or face the cannon fire forever. “If you really want to help, now is the time!” with no time to really negotiate, Leila jumped up onto her own feed and snapped her fingers. At that simple order, Melon suddenly started growing until she was about as big as a regular horse and a pair of wings that looked like a giant rose petals sprouted from her back. Hopping onto her, the two of them would quickly take to the skies and start heading toward the enemy base.

Several more shots were taken at them, but the flying wolf managed to avoid them all with relative ease. Once above them, she would pat her companion’s back and suddenly jump off. During the free fall, she would just sigh at the whole situation and grabbed the hilt of her weapon once more. Below her was one of the many human-dragon amalgams, staring at her and ready to engage. Though it probably didn’t count with her landing directly on it. Flipping around, the girl was no longer falling head-first and her feed slammed into the giant’s shoulder, the impact breaking whatever bones its skin was hiding and making it fall to one of its knees. From there, she would just do a sharp turn as she kicked the beast’s head at full force and send it flying to the side, falling to the ground herself. Naturally, she was rather quickly surrounded by the rest of the giants in this position. Sighing, she would return her blade into its sheath and look around. To the enemy, this probably looked like she either gave up or was mocking them. Either way, they clearly desired to smash her to a puddle of red for what she did to their brother, as a good number of them quickly bolted forward and attack her with swords and maces they were wielding. What they did not know was that the gesture of returning her weapon to where it was had its meaning.

Even the ones that were not attacking right away were close enough for this attack, as the mechanical sheath itself started shaking and vibrating lightly. Mere moments before being hit by their attacks, she would release the blade again, the metal glowing bright blue with sparks coming off of it like crazy, and stabbed it into the ground. The stone and dirt beneath her would crack instantly and form a fairly large crater all around her as a giant explosion of raw energy followed, swallowing the giants along with everything else that would get in the way. The blinding light from this most likely temporarily forced anyone present to close their eyes. And once they would be open, they would see a ground scorched pitch black. Leila stood in the center of it all, but the Giants all stopped moving. They were not dead, but some of them fell over right away, as the attack was enough to make them pass out right away. Others that were a bit more far away had it better, especially with their armors, but there were still only about 5 left. As far as the girl was concerned, this was going extraordinarily well for a full frontal assault. Taking a deep breath, she would take out the blade from the ground and get ready. One of the Giants opened his mouth and send out a poison breath, something that the girl managed to quickly sidestep and then sprint right at him.

A mace in hand, he would try to crush her, but something strange happened. One half of the girl’s body turned bright and light blue in color as she suddenly split into two. Or rather, a wraith-like clone suddenly pushed out of her, as if her soul itself manifested to fight. While the original went for the Giant's legs with her blade to make it kneel down, the wraith would take advantage of this and start jumping up the titan’s body, avoiding its other hand skilfully and then finally getting to its head where it would deliver another powerful kick, sending the beast back and making it land on the ground unconscious. The other four were having their share of troubles as well, since Melon went straight down after the explosion and landed between them, spinning around and essentially using its tail and crash into the enemies and send them flying. The wolf also grew in size even more than before, leaping at the Giants one by another and forcing them to stay on the ground while its body pounded on theirs. Her teeth even sank into the scales few times, eventually making all of the give up and surrender. With that, the duo managed to successfully dispatch the largest group of enemies present. But the battle was still far from over. An elemental construct was still around here somewhere. And all the commotion managed to wake up the leaders of this base, three different giant griffins that radiated with power.

While two of them continued to soar above the battlefield, one of them landed right in front of Leila and roared. Once the ear-piercing sound subsided, it would leap right at her, the golden armor chiming and forming a dreadful lullaby to its movement. This beast was about as big as that snow white dragon from before but still fairly large for Leila to just block like that. Thankfully, Melon managed to step in and slam into the creature’s side, sending it into the ground. But that was the last attack it could do in that side, as she started to shrink into a pup once more. It seemed that the trick was still not mastered by the wolf, but that was quite alright. Now it was two on one. While getting up, the Griff would heavily slam one of its wings toward the due, creating a wave of air that managed to cut them all over and send them back while also creating an opening. Its beak got dangerously close to ripping the female’s stomach open, but it suddenly slammed into a saturated black ball of shadows that appeared around Leila. Another ability of her armor, a shield that could block quite a fair bit. Though the impact did leave a crack in it already, showing just how much force was behind it. Knowing that she couldn’t give it a moment to recover if she wished to win, the girl would quickly head forward herself.

And from the ground, several roots and vines shot out to wrap themselves around the creature. This time, it was Melon’s magical power as the pup focused fully on this attack. Not only was this restraining the beast, but the grip was also trying to crush it which was causing visible damage to the armor and the body clad in it. With yet another penetrating shriek of anger and pain, the Griff would start thrashing around, but that did not stop the Eden’s Caretaker from getting on its back. Though before she could actually do anything, the vines and roots would give in and break apart, the giant brown wings now extended and carrying to beast back into the skies. Due to the sudden movement, Leila also found herself falling back to the ground as the distance between her and her enemy grew. She knew that if she allowed it to get back into the skies, they would be at a great disadvantage. Her right hand was holding her weapon, but the left quickly returned to the sheath and suddenly pulled out a small survival knife that she tossed. On its way, it grazed the golden armor, but that was about it. At least at first. But in the next instant, Leila’s body disappeared and re-appeared right next to the knife, grabbing it and then stabbing the main blade into the Griffon’s leg. This ensured that she would not fall as her body split again, the wraith climbing rather swiftly to the beast’s head.

And with no delay, it would use the blunt side of the wraith blade to deliver a rather powerful attack. Hitting the beast’s head was clearly the way to do this, as it became rather disoriented and changed its directly back toward the ground. Jumping off at the very last moment, Leila managed to land and roll to minimize the impact as the heavy Griffin crashed right behind her. Looking over her shoulder at it, she was quite relieved to see that it knocked itself out at the impact. Like that, she managed to finish a good chunk of the enemies with Melon’s help. But the question was - what of the rest? Two Griffons and the elemental construct still remained and most abilities of both Leila’s equipment and Melon were now recharging and couldn’t be used for a while. Which meant that fighting them would grow much more difficult and dangerous. Looking around, the female hoped that she would spot the dragon actually being on her side and not just flying away because it was not interested in this situation. Some help right now would be quite appreciated, even if the two of them didn’t really talk when they first met. Something like that just had to be excused with the situation they were quickly tossed in, even a creature with so much pride hat to recognize that.

"Many in human form believe themselves above the will of their companions." hence why she went to the white-haired girl first, instead of Melon, she had watched it far too often, owners making choices for completely sentient beings. She was actually much happier to talk to the canine instead of the girl, humanoids were not one of her favorite things, especially considering how often they shot at her! At that moment she pretty much started ignoring the one in 'human' form, lowering her head, cocking it slightly as she sniffed in front of the canine, lowering her body so she was not so large compared to the canine. Clearly, she the normal level of intelligence must have had a charm or something placed on her to allow the speech she was capable of. When the cannon ball flew by, she was even drawn to the movement, distracted easily by the sudden movement of something smaller than herself that could be turned into food.

Either way, she had agreed to help out with this fiasco, so the dragoness figured that she may as well keep her word. Sure, she wasn't bound by any packly duty, but within the world of mages, it seemed humanoids valued one keeping their word and she had to live in this world because she could not live in one of the dragons, no other dragon expect Aiyana wanted anything to do with her, and one simply was not company. Itova always convinced herself she was a lone wolf, but she always did ever so crave for company, even if it was a quite disdainful company like a humanoid, she could not stand to be alone for too long even though being alone was likely best. For today she would fight again, it was not as if she was not getting very good at magical battle anyways, she had already picked up several tricks she had never seen another dragon preform. Plus, now that she had been standing around for a little bit, snow had become thick and deep in the area, she was already within her element. Hopefully, the human looking female would not ask about the sudden snowfall that had become near a blizzard by now, Itova didn't want to explain how her magic naturally caused the weather around her to change.

"What did you think they'd arrange an army and only fight with tooth and fang? That would be stupid." even her species which prided itself on its natural strength and flight abilities, utilized things like magic and tactics within wars. Itova thought the other female was fairly dim for believing the enemy would not have things like canons "I never actually want to help." it was quirked out as she beat her wings a few times, taking to the sky after Melon and Leila anyways. "I serve my own interests, helping isn't the word for what I'm doing." the world had never given her a reason to want to help it, in fact, it gave her more reason to despise everything than it ever gave her to desire aiding others. The world was damn lucky she was passive and not malicious thanks to all it had put her through.

At the sight of Leila going into combat, Itova waited in the sky, watching the white-haired woman fall head first. The second she saw the first hit land and focus shifted not to the two beasts in the sky but to the mage? Long legs tucked in, head ducked down and wings clamped almost right next to her body causing her to basically dive bomb towards the enemies faster than she could fly down. It was sudden, a blue glow before a shard of ice collided with the opponent Leila was fighting and the other giants were struck by their own shots, as Itova spread her wings to stop herself and sink her large sickle claws directly into its chest before jumping to its head to sink her claws in again and beating her wings powerfully spraying icicles off her feathers in the direction she beat them. The area of effect attack proved to be effective when combined with her 'unexpected' arrival. After this move, she jumped down beside the humanoid, the crest atop her head raised in a threatening manner to the enemies.

Of course, she should have gotten a warning from her ally, as the Giants were not the only afflicted, the dragoness roared out when the bright light flashed, her eyes widening and slamming shut as she rolled to the ground, trashing. Clearly, the vision of the ice wielder was sensitive and thus did not fair well with what Leila had done, the female lashing about a few more times before she squinted her eyes open, clearly still having some trouble seeing. As Leila charged forward, Itova focused on the nonmoving targets they had, it was the best option while she waited for the bright streaks in her vision to clear. Thus she spent a few moments in a flurry of scratching and biting at the giants except for the five which had still been standing, landing at least ten strikes on all of those, than she performed the same on the one whose arm had his arm broken before, completing her side until she could once more focus on the standing five.

One of them was locked in combat with Leila, they had stopped paying attention to Itova when she had been rendered temporarily blind, it was a mistake because now she was nowhere to see. At first, it would be easy to assume she had abandoned Leila, especially if one knew nothing of her kind. Yet, the dragon species Itova came from had this thing about retreating, you may as well die if you retreat for your own life. Giving up a fight or losing meant losing everything within the pack, it was not wired into her to give up, even if she still could not see the best. Changing her tactic she had gone beneath the snow, covered and concealed by a natural element, a perfect ambush method when combined with the fact she could swim through it.

Sharp teeth collided with the foot of the giant, taking his attention off Leila for a second, but by this time Itova had already swum away and latched her teeth into the sole of another's foot, the next two she collided her weight with their heel, both her sickle claws sinking in and letting go swiftly there, causing them to trip when they tried to right themselves, falling on their face's only two deep wounds in their heels giving them hint to what happened, three hits on two for the price of one move, good. Itova kicked her feet under the snow, moving towards Leila and the one she fought with, leaving the other four giants to be confused for the moment, of course dealing with melon was likely higher on their list. Itova leaped out of the snow and finished out her share of the giant Leila had just rendered unconscious. "Cool trick, at least signal me somehow before doing something else like that again, I can still barely see compared to my normal vision." that bright light had been beyond annoyance, either way, she rejoined the fight once more swiftly and finished off her hits on the remaining giants.

At this moment she glanced up to see the griffons emerging and made a very aggressive rumble deep in her throat. "Griffons are detestable, way to prideful even though they have nowhere near the grace a dragon does in the air, this will be fun." of course, one could call her prideful, but it would serve no purpose except to upset an ally at this point. As the griffon landed she raised her wings as if she was going to take off, though she did have another plan. The second melon pushed it to the ground, icy thorn vines crept down Itova's leg and onto the Griffon, digging into its flesh and taking care of her fair share there, considering how many thorns managed to touch the downed beast.

Watching Leila take care of the first griffin, she stayed near Melon waiting for the mage to return, she was not a fix it all, the humanoid could take care of it alone. Once Leila was back on the ground, the dragoness walked over. "The other griffons will be harder, I doubt they will land now that they've seen our tricks." and she was far too prideful to ever be ridden by something in the shape of a human. However, her comment was accompanied by ice shards freezing in the air, an exoskeleton forming across Itova as she extended her wing to curl around the mage and her pet, stepping her body in front of them. "This should buy us some time to figure something out and rest our abilities, I activated most of my shields, it'll take them a little to get through and thanks to my vision I can still see their locations." her eyes darted around, in what seemed wild until one realized as a dragon she likely had the same vision raptor birds did, the sort of birds that could see prey through trees.  One thing was certain, for a dragon who claimed to serve her own purposes and dislike working with others. Itova worked remarkably well with others. Pack instinct could be that strong, or Itova could be a lair, who knew. "I can perform well with knockbacks, and I still have a few attacks left, but most of them need to be charged, If we really need I have a few I can fire as many times as my mana allows, but I will need a place to rest afterwards if I binge on them, as they take a lot out of me." and she would likely be unable to use those attacks for weeks to come if she shot them so recklessly here, but from what she was seeing, it may be required, her kind didn't just leave people behind unlike humans.

Battle was one of those things that could entirely consume a person if they were not careful. And Leila was consumed by it, though in a slightly different way. Because of a large number of enemies present, and their power, she focused on them so much that she managed to completely miss and ‘ignore’ the dragon flying around and helping her. Well, at least at first. Later on, she obviously realized that the ice was attacking enemies as well, especially when it suddenly started snowing. Something that could be very easily linked to magic. That said, she still felt pretty bad for unleashing an attack that blinded her temporary partner.

Aaah, I’m sorry! I was so focused on fighting that I didn’t realize you were that close. I figured you would use the aviator’s advantage and bombard enemies from above. I’ll make sure not to do it again. Not that I can anytime soon anyway. Us humans are just little silly like that~.” Leila was a person who had a great deal of interest in both magical and non-magical creatures. She was even creating her own bestiary after all. And while dragons appeared to be rather rare creatures overall, there was also a lot of information publicly known about them. So the Eden’s caretaker had no issues realizing where things stood.

She knew just how stupidly prideful dragons could be, and thankfully, she was also someone who could just go with the flow. No matter what the dragon would actually think of her, she chose her words in such way that should make her partner feel superior and thus less likely to just abandon her position. It was a bit of a gamble, since there were dragons that would not bother with the inferior, but then there were dragons that would relish in the superiority they could showcase to others, less likely to leave those they saw as inferiors alone.

Her words were basically testing which type of dragon this one was. Regardless of what would happen, it seemed that only small amount of enemies remained at this point. Scratching the back of her head, Leila started wondering what abilities she had that could damage the flying creatures up above. She already realized that there was no way Itova would let her ride on her back, and she herself could not really fly. Melon could fly, but taking to the skies could very well leave them at the mercy of those two griffs. Nodding to herself, the silver-haired maiden pulled out her weapon once more.

Alright, let me through your shields for a bit. I’ll try to bring them down, or at least do some damage.” Saying that, she whipped the sword to the side as a big mechanism inside of it activated, transforming the entire weapon in that one single motion. Now she was holding a bow instead of sword and taking aim. Holding her breath for a bit, she started releasing. There was no need for arrows, as they got automatically created with manna the moment she fired. So she would not stop after one, or even two shots.

A whole barrage was released by the girl, counting up to tens of magical arrows that would slightly home onto the monsters and strike them, most of them hitting their wings. But whether that brought both, one or none of the two griffs down to the ground, she wasn’t quite able to see through the storm. At that moment, there was also the magical construct heading their way and trying to attack from behind. “I can now leave those griffs to you, right? They should be hurting plenty.” And with that, Leila and Melon would turn around.

Suddenly sprinting toward the construct, Leila would once again spit out a wraith version of herself that would allow her to perform a deadly dance, her nimble movements allowing her to easily dodge all attacks from the construct while transforming the weapon back into its sword form and slashing away. Once again, dozens of attack would start bringing the monster apart, along with Melon who would occasionally use magic to shoot a wooden spear at the machine as well. Though it appeared quite resilient, so the group would dance until Itova decided to join in.

    ___________
Battle was consuming for mortals or those who had not been born straight into it, within her species infighting was common and very encouraged to establish their social hierarchy. Itova had not even been a year old by the time she partook in her first fight that started her climbing the flocks social hierarchy until, she didn't want to think about after that, so she didn't.

"I'm actually not designed for long durations of sky combat, my kind is more designed for battle on the ground or within the water, our size is a deterrent to relying on soaring combat as we're quite heavy." she prefered combining ground and water combat herself, after an initial dive bomb, with the claws and fangs she had, it was much easier to just tear an enemy apart. She was just delighted that she had not been air born when the light flashed as she could just imagine the crash or friendly fire that would have happened from something like that, it was like a bird had to check out a mirror. Considering the fact she did not respond heavily to her companions words outside of an explanation yet? The type of Dragon she happened to be was aloof or up in the air, but in time Itova would show she was an Alpha through and through.

It seemed as if she would have to resort to her more 'strenuous' spells in order to help finish this fight off, and hope that she could find somewhere with enough fish to bide her over until she had sufficiently recovered. The one really bad thing about coming to Fiore and pursuing things the way she was now? No stable food source like the one she had gotten access to on the island, she had to travel so far just to get to one lack or river big enough to feed her. Itova knew that if she wore herself out fighting the way she was about to, there was no way she would be able to fly far enough to find a new feeding grounds, much less one with a proper shelter or fish that could survive the snowfall she tended to cause. "Guess I'll have to." she opened her wings, seeing the two griffons were still flying in the air, her most essential appendages fully extended as a sharp flap sent her soaring into the sky with her defenses still up to give her some time to get into close combat with the stronger opponent.

The two of them instantly focused on her the second she rose above the storm of ice below, however they were not quite used to seeing through the current raging blizzard, so she still had the upper hand for the moment. "This had better work." the comment was mumbled as the young female twitched the small-clawed finger's attached to her severely shortened almost useless front legs or arms whatever they were called. When she was younger? The dragoness had watched her sister fight off a snow leopard, but Itova herself had never mastered it barely even attempted what she was about to do because of the risk, if she missed the Griffon would have her stomach, or her neck. Itova took one more breath, gliding several feet beneath one of her opponent's, banking upn sharply she slammed her whole body into the griffon to stun him, then it came to the next part, hooking her small front limbs to his front paws so she had control of them, sharp jaws lashing out to close around his beak to prevent him from pecking her. Itova's heart skipped a beat, realizing that while the intitial strike had been perfect she had not followed up correctly and she felt the griffin beat back against her trying to claw at her stomach with his hind legs. Luck was on her side, he couldn't do enough damage to fully make it through her defenses and quickly her more powerful hind legs had scratched and beaten his back as she started slashing numerous times at his now exposed stomach, sickle claw raking numerous lines somewhere around twenty-five of them, before a shot of air right on the center of her back caused her to drop the now griffon and go plummeting towards the ground herself.

While beating one of them? She had forgotten about the other one, but at least she had avoided having to use her magic to fight both of them. The snow exploded upwards as she hit the ground and sunk easily into her element, the snow caused by her magic, swimming swiftly beneath it as she did not have much breath since she had not intended to go under. Even without much breath? She managed to flawlessly emerge from the area behind where the griffin was paying attention to, giving her the advantage of stealth once more through her flight was not silent. Flying upwards she was swift to get above the griffon and drop down so she could latch her powerful talons into its wings and tuck hers in, sending them both falling towards the ground, releasing at the last second so she could pull back, fly back up while her opponent hit the snow and had to fight his way out from beneath it, slowly suffocating beneath it. The griffon emerged once more but at that time she had enough of an opportunity to prepare! Itova's response was sharp, numerous melee based attacks and the use of several knockbacks to keep him from getting a bite in edgewise until the collapsed. Sometime during the fight? Her icicle veil had been rendered useless, and thus she chose to focus on whatever opponent Leila had claimed to be moving onto.

The dance they, Leila and Melon, had trapped the construct within, was impressive, it was also another perfect opportunity for the ice wielder. Since she did not have to worry about the construct rushing her? She could expose her flank, which allowed her to have flick her tail at the construct, sending a sharp spine of ice right into it, since Leila was keeping it busy the rounding dragon could repeat this until the beast fell defeated.

Leila wasn’t exactly expecting a dragon tail to suddenly come out of nowhere and aid her in defeating the construct, but it was quite welcome in the end. Seeing how the magical machinery was built, it was rather tough and resilient against blade attacks. So the blunt force managed to deal the rest of necessary damage and put the thing out of commission. At in the moment when the construct stopped moving altogether, the Eden’s Caretaker could finally rest much easier than before. Looking around, it was quite obvious that they managed to clear the area out of any and all hostile forces.

Monsters lied around, some perhaps death, others knocked out. But all of them defeated and unable to continue their resistance. A good deal of good work in a day’s time! With a satisfied sigh, she would bend a knee and lower herself so that she could happily pet Melon who was already resting on her leg. They both worked hard today, that was quite clear. Looking up to Itova, the silver-haired maiden smile brightly and warmly. Whatever the dragon was thinking about humans, Leila admired dragons and respected them. To a healthy degree, of course. But she liked this one a fair bit.

Despite her attitude, which was something the girl was just used to at this point. Seeing how 3/4 if not more of dragons were exactly the same in this aspect. Always so above everything, their arrogance usually spelling their doom. But that hardly mattered to Leila now. She would just crack her knuckles and stretched a bit. “Alright, I think we’re done here.” She would finally exclaim and get back up. “I have to let the Council know of what happened here. Though if you wish, I can leave you out of the story. Up to you~” And that marked the end of yet another journey the Eden’s caretaker went through in her new life.
