Not Happy was a fair way to describe Grema. It's not because she was about to mow down the monsters she had already previously eradicated, she would be if she was forced but she had come willingly so it was for some other reason. Of course, it could be her usual grumpy disposition talking but anyone who knew her well enough could tell it was something a little more than that. It was amazing that she could officially count those people on both her mechanical hand and human ones now, the people of Fiore were turning out to be ridiculously friendly even to the ugliest people, and she even took a minute to marvel at the changes in her life. When Grema was first banished from Bosco she wanted nothing more than to return and hated her time in the magical country but now that she built a stable life here the cyborg didn't know if she would return to Bosco even if she was offed back her old place, or even better.

Anyways, back to her grumpier than usual. It was actually for a very practical reason. \it was bloody raining. Not too bad but it had only started when Grema left an area where she could get reasonable shelter without getting mauled by monsters. Instead, she had to make do with the miserable tree she caught Aliarey napping under last time they met up wich was more bark than leaves, unfortunately. Her clothes may be acidic blood proof but it was by no means fully waterproof. Which left her shivering in the rain, staying because she was too worried the gunner would ditch if she found Grema absent from their meeting spot.

Beside her and just as miserable was her new pet, the large Mire Wolf, Game Changer, decked out in mechanical armor obviously of Grema's making. The poor puppy like beast first attempted to hide under his master's coat, but he was much too large and only made Grema wetting so instead he just stood miserably beside her. MAI was the only one happy amongst them, free from humanly burdens as she was.

And so they stood there in the rain, eyes the distant hulking shapes while waiting for their comrade.

    Event Info:

"How do I always end up getting dragged into things like this?" Aliarey asked herself as she walked through the rain and towards the designated meeting point. She had been the late one that time, having learned her lesson from last time. Take care of any mysterious and likely illegal business before you take the time to fight off a bunch of monsters and end up getting tracked and caught by certain pursuers. That was pretty much the only real lesson she had learned from the psycho bitch that beat her down in a rather uncalled for manner. Aliarey was hard headed and was not likely to change her ways even after going through that.

Eventually and rather peacefully the re-quip mage had spotted the tree with Grema and her pet, Game Changer, under it, getting soaked much like she was. The woman sighed in disappointment, having wished that the hunchback was not present so she could leave. As much as she liked a fancy payout there was no fun in fighting in the rain. Her body was covered in the leather armor she wore so she didn't feel much there, however, her long blonde hair was clinging to her and had become heavy. Not to mention it was just a miserable feeling having thousands of raindrops hit her face. Plus, it made it harder to make things go boom in a fiery mass of destruction. Oh well, the monsters would feel spell effects and projectiles all the same and take damage. Maybe. What kind were they fighting again?

"Hey!" Aliarey called out, getting Grema's attention and probably the attention of some of the monsters around. The possibility didn't bother her though. Their enemies that time were likely farther in since the meeting area had been cleared out the last time. "I'm ready to play hero mage again," she said once she had gotten closer to the pair. A grin was on her face, contrasting against Grema's grumpy attitude. Future jewels and reputation awaited! They just had to make sure they didn't die in the process. Easy, right?

Izayuki Hyoujin ♦ Black Rose ♦ H Rank

Rain was terrible, hated by anyone unless they came with an affinity to water. Unfortunately, there was no such luck in the area. The silver-furred tanuki had taken up shelter in the tree itself, blessed with the natural talent to climb trees. She was sheltered from the bulk of heavy raindrops from a bigger branch overhead, while she remained contently perched on a smaller one. The rain did not bother the raccoon dog as much as it would a human, but it was still far from what she would prefer.

If anything, the Bakedanuki was trying to remove herself from the area. More and more magical presences continued to appear, putting the young ayakashi on edge. She had tried to distance herself from civilization. That being the case, why were so many humans, mages, gods, and demons all showing up in Fat Monster Land? There was a sudden influx of monsters, yes, but if anything, they should stay away, and not venture into the unclaimed lands. Truly, it was where the yokai could belong. She was a monster, and fit well into the untamed and unnamed society of the land around. Provided, she was not fat, but she hopefully could at least find a place for herself far from humanity.

Humanity was a silly thing. It was something she could at least agree on with the tanuki witch she had met only weeks before. Back on topic, why was anyone daring to tread near the cursed lands? Sleepy eyes had awoken at the first raindrop, but it did not take too long for her to sense two human presences from not far off. Eventually, the two met under the tree, and began to talk. Tiny paws helped the Bakedanuki sit up and peer down at the duo. She skillfully maintained a hidden magical presence; however, she did not plan to go unnoticed for long. Even a rookie magician or companion could notice a nearby animal curiously watching them.

Another thing struck the Bakedanuki with interest. She recognized the cyborg girl below, and the Mire Wolf at her side. The Myrulv of Vintermyr were not to be missed, and Izayuki recalled the time she had met the newbie mage of Black Rose- Gremalin Fen. She had not gotten to know her well beyond that, but did remember the suspicion of the hunchback, along with the words the guild master had given her. Those in Black Rose eventually would have to prove their worth, and judging by the fact that she had been in the tanuki’s guild this long, she likely had done so under the watch of the Aces, Seika, and their guildmates.

The blonde was a complete stranger to the mononoke, however, though appeared to be familiar with her guildmate, Grema. An artificial companion of the hunchback was also present, though Izayuki took no other note of it. Judging by the sound of the conversation, they were here on a job. Was the Magic Council or some local client seeking to lower the population of Fat Monster Land to what it used to be? Perhaps not a bad idea, but it would mean that this would no longer be any sort of haven for the yokai.

She had a choice. She could hope that these two would be on their way soon, or she could dare to talk to them, and perhaps receive some information on how her beloved guild was faring. Was it worth returning home in her current state?
As it was, Izayuki had no ability to choose; fate would do it for her. The bark on the tree branch was slippery, and as the tanuki leaned her silver head forward, angling her ears to listen, her paw slipped out from under her. With additional weight from a soggy pelt, the raccoon dog fell quickly, straight down towards the cyborg, who had been waiting under the tree.
    Fate had made its decision.

Grema shifted in surprise when she heard Aliarey’s greeting and resisted the urge to smile. Smiling was not her thing unless someone got hurt or she made something cool. Maybe she was just pleased that the blond decided to show up and not ditch, leaving Grema and her pets to be devoured by monsters prowling the land. Or something. At least hopefully should wouldn’t drag any psychoses who would try to kill them long this time. Or so Grema oh so desperately hoped. The cyborg was still a tad mentally scarred that the first person who ever flirted with her was the said crazy person’s pet dragon. Not a good time for Grema’s temper and even worse for her ego.

“About time you got here! Ready to kick some monster butt?!”
Grema yelled back, still cold and wet but starting to warm up a bit even from the idea of the fight to soon be had. “You really still guildless chick? Really, get to the agenda already, all mages who go anywhere are in a guild. Even I’m in one and look at me.” Grema grumped just for the sake of grumping about something. She really didn’t care too much, but Aliarey almost reminded the cyborg of Shea, both have spirits that liked to remain free and unattached.  Though her dragoon friend joined that trading company out of nowhere for reasons only the maiden herself would know. But the gunner wasn’t that whimsical and would probably put a lot of thought into whatever guild she chose to join if she ever did follow the trend.

Grema was used to and liked stability along with being under powerful people for protection and resources, which is why she joined Black Rose. That was that. Before if the situation turned unpleasant she would have ditched with only a grumble for the inconvenience. Of course now with her, um, acknowledgment of Haley they probably couldn’t get rid of her if they wanted to.

Anyways, the two women were here for a reason, and that was to beat the crap out of monsters. “You ready for action chickpea? Cause this is what going down- kyaaaaa!!” Grema shrieked and would for the rest of her life, on her life, refuse to ever acknowledge she screamed like a little girl when something wet landed on top of her pirate hat with a splat. “What the heck is it?!” The thought of it possibly being a monster ready to attack didn’t hit Grema’s brain until after she had grabbed the lump of wet fur with one hand and swung it in front of her. The next moment she was met with pretty, sleek, silver fur and doeful red eyes of an adorable tanuki. Unlowon to Grema she was currently holding a goddess of Ishval, one of the most powerful mages in Fiore and her guild master by the scruff of her pretty neck. To be fair Grema didn’t know what a tanuki was, Alairey could attest to Grema only recently getting dogs and cats, let alone that her guild master was one.

Grema instantly got the (false) idea that it was a regular animal that was not disguised as a dangerous monster about to kill them. It probably fled to the tree out of fear, then to the girls out of terror. “What a pain.” Grema grumped with a horrible scowl, contrary to her actions of putting the racoon dog into her arms them covering it with what little dry clothing she had left, then gently petting it to get the water out of it’s fur faster. “Well looks like we have a tag along. What are we gonna do with it? Can exactly fight with a… whatever it is in my arms.” Grema asked her companion, already musing giving the wet creature over to the obviously drier gunner while Game Changer whined and oddly enough didn’t approach the tanuki to sniff it like he did to literally everything else. Just satrred at it with a cocked head.

    Then the monsters approached.

These Monsters Are Still Freaking Alive? [Grema/Aliarey] Empty Re: These Monsters Are Still Freaking Alive? [Grema/Aliarey]

Post by Aliarey Casady 30th October 2017, 9:19 am

"Huh?" Aliarey blinked her eyes a few times upon hearing Grema's statement concerning guilds. That was what she had to be grumpy about? Not standing in the rain, for being late, or showing off her grudge from what happened last time? The hunchback really did like to nitpick over any little thing. "Didn't we cover this already?" She asked, her tone slightly annoyed that the topic had even come up. Her arms crossed over her chest, and her blue gaze hardened as she stared at her teammate. "I may play pretend with you every now and then and save the day like some hero, but I really have no interest in doing that full time. You get too soft in a legal guild, and I am not even going to go into the rules that have to be followed. I doubt I'd last a week!" Parts of what she had said were truthful. The re-quip mage had her own way of doing things that may had led to some chaotic and crazy end that would have been frowned upon by a lot of people, but a lot of guilds had been known to have members going a bit overboard as well. It was strangely common. She was also kind of a softy herself, and even though she hated doing selfless charity she could always be easily begged into doing it. That was a flaw she considered to be major and needed some serious work. Such a trait could not be in her reputation as a super awesome hardened mercenary!

What she purposely failed to mention was that she had considered joining a guild way back when she first set out to make a name for herself. The problem was with her and not really the guilds themselves; a fact she would never admit. She was mainly someone that preferred working solo rather than having to worry about someone else, and with a guild comes a whole lot of people to look after and worry about. The friendship family thing just wasn't her style. It was already utterly amazing that she had worked with Grema and even their other team member, Liam, as much as she had. Although with Grema's case it was likely due to the benefits of being acquainted with someone that knew a thing or two when it came to those gizmos and gadgets. They were interesting, and somewhere in the that blonde head was the memory that the hunchback was supposed to make one of those neat AI things like MAI for her. Or did she just assume that was actually going to happen? Eh, details.

Moving on from the thought of being in a hand holding, flower throwing, and smiley faced group of mages, it was time to hunt some of those monsters that were supposed to be...somewhere. Well, they wouldn't be too hard to find on their home turf. A mischievous smile had begun to form on her face in preparation to get going when it instantly turned into a frown, her eyes also closing as she cringed from the shriek the other woman had let loose. Her gloved hands had also gone to cover her ears. "What the hell was that for?!" More noise and yelling to add to the scene. If the monsters had not been alerted before they probably were after that, and yet the two would continue standing there for a few moments more, completely oblivious to that fact as they focused on the new member of the party.

The hands were brought down from her ears as her eyes opened, and there Aliarey stood, blinking. Her head tilted to the side as she continued to observe the silver furred creature Grema held. 'Should I shoot it?' The mage thought to herself as she tapped her chin with her right index finger. The creature looked harmless and was actually kind of cute, although she wasn't sure what it was exactly. Knowing animal species wasn't at the top of the list of knowledge she contained in that brain of hers. Then again, look at where they were. No way typical animals lived in the Monsterlands. "Are you joking?" Aliarey questioned Grema in disbelief when she mentioned the new creature would be a tag along. The fact she feared of what mechanical monstrosity Grema would make the silver furred creature wear aside, they couldn't just have some new random pet follow them around. Its cuteness levels were a danger all on its own. "Put that thing down before it decides to bite your face off. We're in Fat Monsterland, not The Sunshine Field of Cute and Cuddly Critters." If Aliarey had actually known who the disguised tanuki was her words likely would had been more respectable. The guild leader status alone would have meant there was enough power there to obliterate the gun mage, but also one of the Wizard Saints? Not just one, but literally number one God of Ishval? Yes, her words would have been chosen more carefully. She knew very well where she stood in rank, and it was low by comparison.

Then the sounds of several large beings could be heard as they came closer and made their approach. It got Aliarey's attention immediately and she turned away from the other and looked in the direction of the sound. In a flash a glass looking eye visor appeared in front of her eyes, a simple requip spell that she had learned a long time ago. With it she was able to see clearly despite the rain pouring down. Zooming further she caught glimpses of many oversized monsters approaching in a collective group, likely knowing their location due to being overly loud. "Looks like we have company. I guess I can be thankful it isn't forty snakes this time," she commented, remembering last time how she had to distract way too many reptilian worms so Grema and Liam could make their moves against the gryphon. Her narrowed gaze then turned towards the other holder mage. "Now put the creature down and lets go. I doubt using it as a cuteness bomb is going to work." Without waiting for any sort of reply, Aliarey ran off in the direction of the monsters. She was reckless and it was rare for her to ever go in with a plan. The only thing she knew how to do was unleash a bit of trouble for enemies before getting the hell out if it became too much to handle.

"Phew, that's a lot of big guys," Aliarey muttered with an impressed whistle. She wasn't really one for single targets. It was more thrilling to have several, especially since her magic's strength focused on dealing with that type of scenario. With a smile displaying her excitement, the gun mage summoned one of her favorite weapons of choice from her dimensional armory; a simple disc. She tossed it onto the ground where it then transformed into a sort of gatling turret that began to fire at the enemies in front of her. Two more then formed at either side of it and took on the action of firing like the original. That sure got the attention of the group rather quickly. Although many had taken hits it was not going to be enough to bring them down by a long shot, especially the annoying armored dragon...things. She had already summoned up a magic lacrima powered jetpack to take her into the air the moment the first turret had started firing. No way was she going to stand there with those huge things. She was rather safe from the physical attacks, but not so much from the breath attacks. "Whoa!" It was becoming just a little slightly difficult avoiding several breaths from random elements. An assault from the ground needed to be established before she could fully do an aerial one.
