Ryo listened to Advent and was a bit shocked to hear that this boy had nine parents. Two fathers and Seven mothers. He had heard of many strange things, but he wasn’t exactly sure what this meant, or how the logistics would work. There was no way he would be able to understand it, so he simply gave up. Gora looked to his master with a curious expression on his face, but Ryo simply shook his head showing that there was no point in investigating it, and to just leave it alone. The Dire wolf really didn’t care much about the ways of humanity, so leaving it alone was not hard for him to do. When Advent told him that he couldn’t see Ryo’s nod, the card wizard smirked
“Then how did you know I was nodding my ‘blind’ friend?” he asked his voice dripping with the triumphant ‘gotcha’ tone.
The boy snapping at him about the language issue was completely out of nowhere. He didn’t understand how the boy had gotten so riled up so quickly, and there was absolutely no reason for him to be reacting in this way. He waited until the angry tirade was over and he cleared his throat
“Firstly, I was talking about you. I was talking about that sentence you said the ‘The person you seen’. That was bad grammar and I let my own harsh training in that area sink through. I did apologize for it. Second, I said nothing about any language, that advice I gave was perfectly useful no matter what language you wished to use, and whatever culture you find yourself in. There is no need to assume I am only talking about this particular language. After all, I made no mention of any language, instead just Grammar and speaking clearly. That is good advice for every language. I would appreciate it if you didn’t jump to such wild accusations. For now, we can put this aside and get this over with.”Ryo looked around and shook his head at the question
“No, most likely it is simply that they have no choice. I would place bets that either everywhere else in this world is much the same as their territory here, without food, and without necessary survival needs, or the more sinister is that something far more dangerous than them has taken the prime places and will kill to protect their lands.” He shook his head with a sigh
“I would imagine that nothing could really help them and that they have no other choice. Still, so long as we don’t kill every wolf in this world but kill enough of the other things in here then they will have a future. I do not plan to kill every wolf in this land, only the ones that choose to attack us first.” He said as he stopped dead watching the flames rip through the wolves and the trees. Gora lifted his head back and gave a deep mournful howl which caused Ryo to listen closely to what his wolf was saying. Gora’s howl sang out a song for the death of female wolves, their loss, their value, their great gifts. Ryo’s eyes slowly began to leak red tears down his face as he listened to it.
When the flames drew back, and they started to move again they only stopped when the sound of a larger more powerful howl filled the air. Ryo and Gora stopped dead, as they heard the sound. Gora’s body flashed again with power returning to his battle state and he let loose a howl of his own challenging the other. The alpha had come, and with him were 70 other wolves. Drawing his sword slowly Ryo looked to his partner
“Gora, kill the alpha. Kill as many as you have to but remember there is no pack for you here. These are not wolves we can take with us Cull as many as you can, so we can make a stable home for the rest.” He placed his hand on the ice and diamond covered wolf
“This is going to be hard my son, but I have faith in you.” As soon as the Alpha stepped forward and lead the group towards the trio Gora shot forward with a large howl it was filled with a challenge that demanded an answer. The Alpha could not refuse the challenge without seeming weak so the two began to circle and size each other up.
While the two great wolves began the dance, it was clear that they would have it out with a great amount of blood to be spilled. The other wolves, however, would not simply sit idle while the Alpha’s fought. Instead, they would kill the rest of the challenger’s pack. A dozen wolves came charging towards Ryo with all speed and he frowned as he saw this. He was not about to let these mongrels do as they would like. He drew his sword and slashed at the first one that lunged at him. The blade slashed through the creature’s mouth with ease widening the wolf’s mouth and dropping it dead. He was onto the next one stabbing it through the neck nearly taking its head off. His free hand dropped into his jacket and he pulled out nine playing cards flooding them with his magic. He allowed his glove to float the cards above his hand shooting them out one after another into the next wolf nearby smashing it down to the ground. His hand shot back down pulling out elemental cards in order to fire them at the wolves fire, water, earth, wind, blood, and more slammed into a fourth wolf bringing it down before he slashed into the fifth with his blade.
Deciding that he could not let this continue on so pathetically he held out his left hand
“Blood is the Currency.” He said with no emphasis, but the blood that all the wolves he killed in a 30-meter radius surged towards his hand swirling through the air and forming into a ball.
“Static Blood make Wakizashi.” The blood turned into the short sword katana and he lunged at the rest of the wolves slashing and hacking through them. He used his katana to cut them apart, the Wakizashi was used to block and repel bites or claws if he had to. After lots of slashes and death, he stood amidst their bodies looking for the next group to attack him.
