Post by Samira Nassar 4th November 2017, 4:55 pm

    Exam Info:

    Somewhere in Earthland:

“Do we have the reports from the Bosco incident?” A woman asked some colleagues that were sitting at computer terminals that had been transferred from Mirai. The level of technology of that planet was far more advanced than even the type contained in the country in question. Not that many days prior there had been an incident within Bosco that required the help of mages to deal with it. Not just any mages, but celestial wizards. A total of three had been sent out in what the organization would later find out to be Leila Vergious, a former Rising Star with enough experience to one day be a Wizard Saint herself. Her name was well known, but actual personal information was unknown. Kaori Leraci, a clan leader of Midi that had made a home for herself in Fiore and had become one of the most recognized mages in Earthland by earning the title of Wizard Saint as well as titles of nobility across the continent. Both women mentioned were holders of Zodiac Keys; more evidence to their level of power.

“Yes, got them in some time ago, but it’s been hell trying to go through all the data. Something really went down in there. The power levels are off the chart!”

It was then images showed up on the screen that had been collected during the incident. While their own people couldn’t get anywhere near the site, the technology could. Although, due to the magic interference, the images were not of the highest quality. It was hard to make out much of anything but some of the celestial enemies that were encountered had their pictures taken, as well as a couple of the cloned Celestial King before he had encountered the three women. “So, that was their plan,” the woman said with a smile. It wasn’t a bad one per say, but it obviously failed. It also paled in comparison to her own plans.

The third celestial mage that had been sent on the mission was one they knew more about than even the girl herself knew. Samira Nassar, a quite normal wizard with absolutely no titles or world recognition, aside from being known as the sidekick to one of the mages mentioned previously. She had ties with a guild that had promoted her to a higher position, but that was about all. No world importance or significance. At least for most. The young woman was actually very important to the plans of that organization as were the spirits she wielded. So much so that they had done their own experiments at cloning those particular spirits in order to rush through with their plans. The girl had been progressing too slowly for their liking, but upon meeting Kaori and her team the levels of power grew and surged quickly. The ninja and her pet servant or whatever he was actually had a use other than being constantly in the way. Although, their usefulness was going to come to an end eventually and prove to be more troublesome than they were worth. There was never a time when both were absent it seemed. The servant was now gone, but they had seen the Wizard Saint return, although in a different form. The power readings were similar from what they gathered the last time she had been near Samira‘s room and guild hall, which was zero. Not many wizards were powerful enough to hide traces of their power completely, so it was with a reasonable conclusion that they considered it to be the same person. The fact Samira had no other people she was close to helped in their theory as well.

Before the current scenario, the roles were reversed where the ninja woman was the one that was absent. It was going to get tricky to make their final moves if either of them were in town. Getting close to Samira would be easy. It was what followed that would have been difficult. It was highly likely that the saint would pursue them afterward. Well, that was a little ways off. There was still enough time to sort through those rather complicated details. According to the reports on Samira’s progress, her power should have been reaching the levels suitable for S mage ranking. Close, but not enough. More of a push was required. How fortunate that they had another facility elsewhere that had managed to complete the cloning process of a very powerful spirit that the other had failed to do. The unfortunate side was that it was not powerful enough to replace the original sealed spirit that remained in the celestial world. Still, it would do wonders as a test and to act as a further obstacle for their favorite summoner.

    “Release our little pet project.”

“Ma’am, you can’t be serious?! That thing is-”

“I am completely serious! Now do as I command, or I will ensure you are used as an ingredient in the ritual!”

Before long, the spirit creature was released and free to roam around the world, causing all sorts of chaos and death where it went. It took on the form of a massively sized cobra when it attacked, but after the devastation it would disappear. Some witnesses had said it had changed forms while others claimed it went completely invisible. All in all with the panic, stories were stretched and exaggerated. There was no telling what was true and what wasn’t. The creature’s abilities were often outrageously described as well. Country to country it traveled with no one being able to stop it. Then it decided to hit Fiore. It passed through village to village and town to town until word had reached the Magic Council. They had heard of the madness going on in the other neighboring countries, but did not anticipate it getting so far as to enter their own and be unstoppable. They had informed some of the guilds nearby each time it was spotted, but most either had their strongest members too busy to lend a hand or were unable to compete with its power. The Wizard Saints were also spread throughout all of Fiore, some being completely untraceable and difficult to locate. Still, a notice had been sent to the guild of Lamia Scale in an attempt to make contact with the Wizard Saint that was allied with them.

    In Hargeon:

It had been a few weeks since the events in Bosco and everyone went their separate ways. Samira had been concerned over Leila’s well being due to  being consumed by the cloned version of the celestial king and having returned in such an odd state, but she was sure the woman would have recovered with time, especially if she had returned to the guild she was allied with. As for Kaori, it was commonplace for her to depart until some other sort of crazy situation came up. At the very least Samira had been satisfied that the newer form of medication was several times better than the previous one. It wasn’t a solution she wanted by any means and it still didn’t bring the ninja back fully, but it was still better than before. Life resumed peacefully with simple monster hunting jobs here and there to help lower ranked members get into the swing of things. However, even though her daily life was uneventful, her nightly one was far from it. Her dream state had been affected nightly for over a week. Each night the dreams got longer and more detailed. She could tell it wasn’t from an unknown outside source like it had been when it concerned that Dream Dragon that had a habit of messing around in there in the past. It was a spirit connection, but one that did not come from her current spirits. Honestly it was rather disturbing. When one spirit tried to start the dream sequence it would get overpowered and consumed by another. The ones that had originally tried to contact her were more pleasant, but the consuming one was the problem. It was a darker spirit and very powerful, and it gave her the feeling she felt when she had been near the red portal back at the research facility that was in the Spooky Forest. She didn’t like it and certainly did not want it in her dreams. That really wasn’t supposed to be a spirit she would later make a contract with, was it?

“Samira, did you hear me?” A black feline with golden accessories over its fur questioned. The cat sat on her desk where dormant and inactive keys were laying on its surface next to her. The spirits that watched over Samira’s mind space had also seen the dreams, and although Ra and the other desert spirits knew more about the consuming spirit they refused to mention anything about it. The rest were likely spirits that were ready to be called upon, or should have been anyway. Thus far, they had refused to answer. Likely due to Samira having very little to no power in order for them to even sense her worthiness. The summoner had gotten very little sleep since the dreams began and it was starting to take its toll. Now she remembered why she hated dreaming whenever it happened. How could normal people do that all the damn time?! Due to the mental logic of her spirits always being in there and requiring a black space, she never dreamed unless some other powerful source forced it to happen.; usually from her spirits when they wished to inform her of something.

“Huh?” Samira snapped back into reality from her zoned out and zombie-like state. Just as the cat began to repeat herself, she watched as the summoner’s eyes somehow turned into nothing more than horizontal lines. She had fallen asleep again already. Her body began to lean to the side of her chair, further and further until she fell right off and met the floor. Not even the landing woke her up as she just continued sleeping where she had fallen. Mau, as she is called while in her mortal form, narrowed her eyes and twitched her pointed ears in annoyance. What they were speaking about was important! Then again, it wasn’t as if they were going to get anywhere with Samira having no proper rest at all.

A loud knock was heard upon the door of her room, causing Samira to wake herself and sit up with a yawn. “Hmmmm?” Nope, she couldn’t do it. The knock must have been something imaginary. She fell asleep where she sat. The knocks came again along with some shouts of Asteria before turning into her name that got actual attention, but not enough to cause her to actually get up. Mau then hopped onto the girl’s lap and swiped a paw at her cheek, minus extended claws so as not to scratch her summoner. “Wake up! You have responsibilities!” A line of “ZzzzZzz”s formed above Samira’s head, making the cat tilt her head in curious manner with a weird questioning look upon her feline face. The third cycle of knocks. “Oh, for celestial’s sake!” The black cat left Samira there and walked over to the door. She stared up at the rather high up door knob before magically forming a pair of golden wings that took her up to. A cat she may have looked like, but she was a magic one! One far better than any Exceed! Her front paws worked together to open the door and pull it in a bit in order to see who was outside. Green cat eyes saw a man that was commonly known to make message deliveries. “What is it? My summoner is extremely busy napping.” One could question the importance of such an activity, but one must never argue with a cat about the matter. Cat naps were a number one priority! Aside from answering an annoying door. Leaving it was just rude.

“Eesh, Aces get to take naps? Not very fair really…”

“Ahem! I can close this door at anytime…”

“Oh, right. This was really for the Ace called Jizo due to her being a Wizard Saint and all, but we’re not really sure of her location these days.”

“She has ships. Did you check the docks?”

    “…No…”

    “Her room?”

    “She has one?”

“Did you ask the Guild Master?”

    “Well…no.”

"Check with the employees of her restaurant perhaps?"

    "..."

“Why have you come to bother me-I mean Samira when you have not even looked for this Jizo properly?”

“…Because I actually wanted an excuse to ask her about that iLac photo going around. She seems like the nicer one to ask out of the two.”

“I do not know what you mean by iLac photo. You also annoy me. Now give me that letter. I will read its contents and ensure that it is delivered since you apparently seem to be incompetent.”

The letter was placed within Mau’s jaws, and she flew to be in front of the door before turning around and pushing it closed with her back. Over to the bed she went while her paws and claws worked to open the envelope. She read it over and nodded in acknowledgement, however, she also seemed slightly worried at the same time. Her golden wings then took her over to Samira where she then landed right on her head. The extra weight resulted in the green haired woman falling backwards to be laying on the ground once more. “Owww.”

“It would appear a notice that was meant for that friend of yours has arrived for you instead. I suggest delivering it. You won’t be able to do this yourself.”

Even in her half asleep state Samira’s face scrunched up in agitation at those words. Every damn time she was told something similar. She didn’t like it, no matter how true it was. As had been said before, she was a utility unit, not a combat specialist. Taking on something entirely by herself was ill advised. “What does the notice say?” Samira asked as she sat up.

“It involves a massively sized creature that people are calling a monster I suppose. You are a part of a monster hunting guild so I guess it would make sense to contact this guild for such matters. Why they waited so long to do so is anyone’s guess. I left it on your bed.”

Samira forced herself up rather lazily before going over to her bed and grabbing the notice. “…It is a snake.” She said with disappointment and disbelief that more of those creatures were showing up in her life.

    “Cobra, actually.”

“It does not say anything about its species,” Samira stated after looking over the sheet of paper once more.

    “Call it a hunch.”

Without asking anything more, Samira began to leave the room and see if Kaori was anywhere in town. It was likely not, but one never knew. “Wait!” Mau shouted, causing the summoner to pause at the now open door. “Take those keys. I have a feeling you will need them.” The cat said nothing more as she curled up into a sleeping ball on Samira’s bed. Something similar had been done before quite some time ago. How amusing that back then she had also been dealing with a type of snake. The currently inactive keys were added to her chain before her departure from her room. From there, she made her way to the docks to see if any of Kaori’s ships or crew were present. The ship known as The White Mermaid was spotted in its normal location, unused and seeming to not be taking off anytime soon. Good. She wouldn’t be interrupting anything important. When she got closer to the ship she asked one of the fellows around if they could have Salty get in touch with Kaori from wherever she was. It was possible. Rather than go inside the ship though she remained outside on the docks and waited for the communication to be done with. If Kaori asked while talking to Salty what it was concerning, the only details Samira gave him was that it was a mission for her requested by the Magic Council. The rest Samira would give her herself while also handing over the letter personally.

Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private Empty Re: Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private

    Post by ○Kaori 5th November 2017, 6:28 pm

Sitting in the Captain's Chair on the combat deck of the Ark of Destiny, Kaori folded one of her legs over the other in a very lady like fashion while looking at a single lacrima screen that had the image of a large snake on it. The attack had finished, only lasting three minutes and the snake had vanished again. "Get in touch with the local guard and get me the numbers." Kaori said before getting up and walking to a hologram under the lacrima screen that showed all of earthland. "Update our map to show this last attack, add any new tricks to the list, and would someone mind letting the kitchen know to send up some food?" It had been a few weeks that these attacks had been happening and Kaori was beginning to get annoyed even with her medication. She pointed to the first dot on the map in the middle of Desierto, a blue ring appearing around her finger. As she dragged her finger to the second dot, a red line showed up moving to the mountains of Joya, connecting with that one and then moving along the border to Minstrel. This last attack was in the southern end of Bosco, and resulted in the entire village getting destoyed- just like the twenty before it. "Captain, we've got a message from the White Mermaid. Samira Nassar said the Magic Council-" "It's about time they finished debating." Kaori interrupted him, knowing exactly why they were contacting her. "Snoop Genie, would you mind getting Sammy up here please?" Kaori asked and the genie with the best dreads in the business said "Aight, I got-chu." and poof, Sammy was at the combat deck.

"So... the Magic Council finally decided killing the giant snake was a smart idea, or did they want to invite me for tea and cookies again?" Kaori asked while going over the snake's course of action. "I've actually been tracking this thing for a week, give or take a couple days. Minstrel had asked me to blast it a couple dozen times, but I have an issue with unleashing heavy artillery near populated areas that I don't intend on leveling. The issue with the damn thing is that it keeps disappearing after each attack, and only reappearing before turning the place to... well..." Kaori paused and pointed to the lacrima screen in front the map. There was an image of a village completely destroyed, houses turned to rubble, the walls nonexistent, and only a few black dots moving around which were likely the clean up crew she sent. "...that." Kaori said. Ghost had arrived at the combat deck and jogged up to Kaori, stopping and preparing for his orders. "Ghost, take Eclipse team to the next village. Your objective is to get a tag on the snake so we can track it better. Our estimates put it at around twenty hours. This is the first of four settlements between the last target and it's intended one, let's try and make it the last casualty." If Samira at any point had asked why Kaori didn't hit the city while it was being attacked since the villages are gonna get destroyed anyways, Kaori would reply "Those people are gonna die, but I won't be the one to kill innocent people. I can check for survivors and relocate them when the snake leaves. One round from this ship, and I'll have no reason to do that. I'd rather not have that blood on my hands too..."

Kaori turned around and looked Samira in the eyes and her expression switched to a grimace. "You have bags under your eyes." she said with an unimpressed, unhappy tone. Kaori walked up close, getting her face within kissing range- though not performing that act- and looking deep into her eyes. "Constricted veins, mismatched pupil sizes, dark bags, and slightly messy hair...." Kaori stepped back and grabbed Samira's hand to pull her aside. "Come." she said while leading her to the elevator. Kaori would walk with Samira to her office since it was closer than her bedroom. Once there, she closed and locked the door before making her was to a couch on the left hand side and sitting down. "Sit with me. We've got a long time before that snake shows up again, so there's no point in worrying about the situation we have no control of." If Samira had refused, Kaori would pull her arm to have sit- being much more forceful than usual. Though, once she did sit, Kaori would angle herself to face Samira and wrap her arms around the green haired woman, pulling her into her chest. Kaori would gently rest her hand on the side of Samira's head and softly ask "Why haven't you been sleeping?"

If Samira told Kaori the truth, she'd tell her to close her eyes and listen only to her heart, and know that she was safe. If Samira told her a lie or 'it's nothing' Kaori would point out that she was lying. If she still refused to tell her the issue, she'd tell Samira to close here eyes still while gently rubbing her head. Had the medication been the original iteration, this scene wouldn't happen at all... Samira would hear Kaori begin singing softly to her, something she had never done before. The song was about a beutiful heiress who was born to fulfill a specific purpose in life, and she was accepting that fulfilling that purpose would be her end. It was slow, and soft, and tragic; but beutiful, and noble at the same time. Some would say it described Kaori with how her purpose was to stop her brother, which would likely be the end of her... Daughter of the Moon was the name of the song. When Samira fell asleep, if the power of the snake was able to reach this far away and effect her, the dream would be overridden by the vision of Kaori holding Samira while they slept together- courtesy of a certain dragon god of dreams. Ysrad would help since the balance of the world was somewhere on his list of priorities, and he knew that Samira was necessary for preserving it. That is... unless the snake was more powerful than a god because plotarmor.

Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private Empty Re: Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private

Post by Samira Nassar 6th November 2017, 10:47 am

"I grow impatient. How long does it take to send a message with one of those machines?"

"It's only been a couple of seconds... How could you possibly be impatient already? Although, if I were Ninja Girl I would totally ignore dear Sammy knocking on my door again. It's never a good sign. Thank god Samira is too much herself to get a Saint title. Just think of all that work!"

Samira just sighed, being far too tired to even make a comment in reply to the small stab regarding her abilities. Instead she focused on the original part of the conversation; the status of the message to Kaori wherever she was. "I am sure Salty is sending the-" Blip! The summoner then found herself right on the Arc of Destiny pretty much instantly as she blinked her eye. "-message." Snoop Genie proved to be convenient once again. Samira recovered from the surprise of the sudden change of scenery rather quickly and focused on Kaori, who seemed to already know about the snake monster attacks. "You are well informed. I suppose it should not come as a surprise, however." Apparently the ninja mage had been tracking it for about a week, but had been unable to do anything about it thus far due to how elusive the creature was after its attacks. Her green eyes turned towards the lacrima screen her friend had pointed to, and for herself she saw how devastating the attacks were. If that had gone on for a few weeks then no doubt there was mass destruction in many countries as the creature moved along.

Ghost had come for his orders and surprisingly it was only to tag the creature rather than destroy it as soon as it appeared. The original medicated Kaori wouldn't have thought twice about just opening fire on a village settlement, especially one that was going to get destroyed anyway. Possible survivors were not of any significant importance. "You are not going to destroy the creature while it is distracted?" A question asked just to see what the answer would be. The answer satisfied her and probably made her a little too happy considering the fact it was medication still, just a different form. Perhaps it was working slightly better than she had ever given it credit for. The transformation during the Bosco incident may have not been some sort of fluke after all.

"Do I?" Samira asked with a confused blink. She barely payed any attention to the mirror before she left. All she saw was a blurry mess when she woke up, and she didn't bother to check before she left...even after having fell on the floor. More confused blinks as Kaori got closer to inspect her eyes further. Even though the kiss act had not happened for once whenever Kaori was that close, Samira still would not have anticipated it. That sort of thing was never on her mind until it was already happening. So, she stood still, not even backing away during the observation of her eye status. "It is not as bad as it looks," Samira said with a small sigh before her hand was grabbed and she was led away towards the office. From there, after locking the door, Kaori took a seat on a nearby couch and had requested Samira do the same. "You worry over nothing. I am fine," she replied, forcing a small smile to be more convincing. The eye observation likely led to the obvious conclusion of a lack of sleep. It was with a hopeful thought that the convincing smile and words would be enough for the medicated Kaori to believe her and move on. She hated being seen and looked at as a weak person and burden, and once again those around her were having to stop what they were doing to ensure her own state of well being was secure. Hopes were dashed as she was pulled by the arm and pretty much forced to sit. "Very well. I am sit-" It was then arms wrapped around her and pulled her in until her head was resting against Kaori's chest. How often did she find herself in that position? Did the change of medicine really affect her to care that much? It was almost enough to make her cry. "I am fine. I have been getting all the rest I require," was her response, although her tone had gotten even more weary than before. Her current position was getting to the point of being far too relaxing. The lie was obvious and easily detected by the other, but Samira just remained silent rather than answer the actual question. It was just more dreams revolving spirits. Nothing worth mentioning.

Samira had been told to close her eyes; a request she had refused at first. Now was not the time to sleep nor did she really want to. The head rubbing was as gentle and soothing as it was back then when traveling to one of the phoenix shrines and then that added with the song Kaori was singing made her eyes begin to grow heavy. It was a rather pretty song and one she had not heard before. The singing voice wasn't even that bad either. Samira had fallen asleep before the song had even come to an end, although tears were coming from her eyes from the dream. An unintended side effect from the gifted dream; a reminder that she wanted her friend back as the way she once was.

The dream had been overwritten, much to the annoyance of a certain chaos god incarnation. He held no true power over dreams and could not face an actual god of one. Only a spirit of dreams stood any kind of chance. In a separate part of the mind space he stayed. Sort of. Rather than having an actual form his presence was in the form of a red portal as it had been in the Spooky Forest research facility. He knew very well what was stopping his communication. Very few things could affect Samira's mind that would want to. None of her spirits were over dreams, she owned no Zodiac, nor was there a spirit of the same power as himself. That left only one other option; a being of power stronger than even the Celestial King. "You ally yourself with actual godsss, do you, Ra?"

The desert incarnation sun god materialized in front of the portal after hearing the question. There was a strong link between himself and the spirit of the portal, and even the other desert spirits had some connection, although not as strong. "I do not know what keeps you from communicating with my summoner," he said in a tone that seemed convincing that it was not a lie. A wild guess could have been made due to past experiences, but he was no authority to assume that god still remained in Samira's mind. "If it keeps you out then I welcome whatever blessing or curse it is. Now explain, why is there a successful clone of you causing such destruction? You had told me before you considered the humans to be arrogant and that their goals of recreating spirits, especially you, was unforgivable."

"I did sssay that. How nice of you to remember, my ssspirit brother."

"That does not answer my question!" From within the dark mind space Ra let off flames from his body, now angry and annoyed at the other's attempt to evade the question. It was answered with a flare of the red portal and a fit of laughter. "I got bored. I decided to let the humansss play a bit with my image. Jussst look at the damage it hasss done in my place. Beautiful those foolish creatures are."

"What of Samira? Why are you interfering with the messages of the other spirits that are to awaken? More boredom?" There was a long silence before the spirit behind the portal answered.

"That isss not persssonal, however fun it isss. You know the actual anssswer, ssso why do you asssk? Hoping I will not ssshow myssself at all? Very rude, spirit brother." Even though the chaotic god incarnation was sealed within a portal he could still imagine an odd looking scowling bird flaming in fury. "Although, sssome adjussstmentsss mussst be made. Ssshe is too kind hearted, and her sssoul too pure. If not for certain eventsss she would have been ssso easssy to fall on her own. I will have to correct thisss." Before the sun spirit could flat out reject the idea and send that portal packing, he was immediately transferred to the normal area of the mind space where the rest of the spirits were. 'You have no authority to ssstop me. Alssso, keep that light ssspirit from knowing thisss. Sssuch a troubling thing ssshe isss. I would hate to have to influence her destruction before my ssseal is broken. Take care, ssspirit brother.'

"Hey, you okay there, birdie?" Susano questioned Ra when he suddenly appeared in the room with a rather angry and concerned expression. "You're looking a little more dumb than usual. It's, the wind spirit then put on his best Ra face and voice "Disgraceful!" The desert spirit stormed off, warping himself to his area of the celestial realm. "That guy has no sense of humor. I actually think the beast is more entertaining to be around..." Susano shook his head, hardly believing that the day he had to give the latter a compliment had arrived. A certain light spirit then smacked him on the head with a book. "Refrain from namecalling, Windy," she said calmly, not even acknowledging that she had given her brother a nickname as well, one that even resembled a girl's name. "Samira is sleeping. I suggest we prepare ourselves for battle in the meantime. The devastation that creature is capable of worries me."

Quite some time had passed and the snake had revealed itself once more. The village that had been unfortunate enough to be in the way of its travels was obliterated. A giant ball of dark energy had formed before exploding, taking out most of it. What people thought to get close enough were literally devoured. Anything else that stood in its way as it traveled through was destroyed just from its massive size alone as its head and tail smacked into buildings. There were a few that managed to escape, and some that got lucky enough to find hiding spots that was not part of the destruction. If Eclipse Team was on the scene then no doubt it was hard to miss tagging it. The strange thing was that unless they somehow got injured during the blast or falling debris it avoided harming them, even if they attacked it. The time it took to disappear after the attack also seemed more slow than it had been in previous attacks. It was as if it wanted the unit to be successful with their goal. Its massive form would then disappear suddenly, as if it was never there. The tracker would still work though.

Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private Empty Re: Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private

    Post by ○Kaori 8th November 2017, 4:07 am

Kaori looked down at Samira while she was asleep and continued rubbing her head gently. "You should know you can't lie to me..." she said softly and stopped rubbing her hair. Kaori gently wiped the tears from Samira's eyes with her index finger and held her as she slept. Kaori knew Samira quite well despite them not actually spending excessive amounts of time together. Most of their time spent with each other was missions, and not as much being social; but it was enough for Kaori to learn Samira's behavior. She knew how the girl looked when she was doing alright, how her emotions altered, and how her pride would be the one thing that made her try to hide how she actually felt. "You rode my ass for almost the same thing." she said softly and held Samira a bit tighter, leaning into her and closing her eyes to let herself drift off to sleep.

    West Bosco

The settlement was under evacuation at the order of Kaori, an order that was originally ignored by the town guard until someone from Bosco's government had arrived and threatened to fire every last guard from a cannon if they didn't move their butts. While Bosco wasn't known for such savagery, the fact that they were enforcing an order given by a noble was enough to make them act on it. By the time the snake was due to arrive, the town had only been half evacuated on account of it taking time for people to decide what worldly belongings were worth risking their lives over, and then they had to pack their wagons, hitch their horses to them, and then they could leave. There were some who were smart, kept up with the news as it came and started leaving long before the order was given; and, on order of the same Wizard Saint, they were directed to a refugee campt that was set up specifically for them. The walls were wood, the homes were tents, the beds were straw, the food was... actually pretty good if you weren't vegan. "SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIT!!!!" a voice screams as it flew across the skies above the settlement. Ghost looked at the shooting human star and shouted "We've got company!" after which each member of Eclipse Team turned and aimed in the direction the man flew from. Towering over the settlement walls, they saw the massive king bitch himself and the order 'weapons free' didn't even need to be said before the town guard began firing any ranged weapon they could get their hands on. Each member of the team were equipped with a tracker shot as well as a pre-recorded message 'just in case' that all showed to be unnecessary. The snake was tagged five times, and even though they were riddling its body with bullets, it never once tried attacking them. It had focused more on the guards who were using bows, crossbows, grappling hooks- shit that didn't pack much power. As fast as the snake came, it had gone and was on its way to the next settlement... Ghost had called in the mission's success to the Ark of Destiny. "Ghost to the Ark, SNAFUBAR." to which the question "Status report?" was asked. He looked around at the destruction and said "FUBAR." Eagle then chimed in "Five MIA, thirty guards injured, twenty people buried, half evac'd, the rest... well, they had a lot of time to make it out." The operator on the Ark of Destiny replied "Acknowledged... situation is FUBAR." A few seconds later a different operator came on the intercoms and said "We've got the tags showing its position. Nicely done Eclipse, RTB for retasking."

    Spirit World

In Kaori's end of the Celestial Spirit world, seven spirits were all gathered in a single room; Charlotte, Jediniah, Scarlet, Mammoth, Ira, Query, and the zodiac spirit of water, Aquarius. "You do know that, that thing out there is one of us, right?" Charlotte asked. In recent times she'd become much less timid as she'd gotten used to her companions. "Not quite... it's energy feels... off." Ira said while taking the situation seriously, something she didn't like doing but was put in a position without choice in the matter. "I agree, it feels almost synthetic." Query commented. "It's heading towards Hargeon... and I got a hunch why." Aquarius said and began standing up to head out the room. "Wait! Aren't you supposed to-" "You six stay here in case the captain needs ya. I've got an associate I need to talk to." he then left the room and began walking towards the middle of the realm where the records were kept. Normally, being told the specifics of other spirits was limited only to those belonging to the same wizard; but zodiac spirits were like the Wizard Saints of the spirit world- they had a lot of sway. Upon arriving, most of the other record keepers had continued their work since they didn't want anything to do with Aquarius. He was like a less predictable version of the last Aquarius... He was always wearing a pissed off set of eyes, he didn't smile, his energy alone was terrifying to feel, and he was able and willing to sink the entire place at a moment's notice. What set the two spirits apart was that the old Aquarius was always in a shitty mood, and the new one was sometimes triggered. He walked across the room to a certain spirit with pig tails and looked her in the eye with both of his shimmering gold. "I got a few questions and a favor to ask..." he said with his dead serious as always tone. He looked around and spotted the person who looked exactly like the guy who was in charge. "Oi!" he shouted to the man who hesitantly walked over with a forced smile. Aquarius gestured to Jing Wei with his thumb and said "I needa borrow her for a bit." was all that needed saying. "I see, there's a break room in the back you can use. By all means, take as long as you need... just don't do what the last Aquarius did please." he said and walked off to attend to other matters. "Lemme guess, she sunk this place." Aquarius said while looking at Jing Wei, how he knew that was anyone's guess.

In the meeting break room, which was originally occupied and quickly vacated as soon as Aquarius stepped in, the spirit didn't bother sitting. He closed the door and leaned against it with his arms folded over his chest. "Not sure if you know this, but there's a giant ass snake busting shit up. I'm sure you've noticed several Celestial Wizards-to-be suddenly die because of it." Aquarius paused to let the record keeper think back to the past few weeks, during which time surely a few would've been killed. "Funny thing is... that giant ass snake's heading for Hargeon. There's only one spirit I know of that would show interest in Kaori, and there ain't no other strong Celestial Wizards in Hargeon to attract spirits. That monstrosity feels like one of us, but it also feels like one of the ones from that first facility we went to... So now comes my first question... What spirit of Samira's is it?" The question was very simple to answer since Jing Wei could summon each and every last one of Samira's contracts, and future contracts from seemingly anywhere. Once that question was answered, Aquarius would show no signs of discontent with the answer. If Jing Wei knew the answer, Aquarius would say "Most likely a copy." but if she didn't, Aquarius would have no comment. "My next question is about a very specific spirit's location... She's not part of our contract, so I can't find her on my own. Angra Mainyu..." She was a spirit that represented all the evils of mankind in one body, and was rumored to be impossible to force into submission. She wasn't like Samira's incarnations of gods and goddesses, Angra Mainyu was really real, part of the original. It's said that no one knows how she came into existence, but ever since then, she never once was contracted to a wizard. Aquarius wasn't the kind to back down, he'd tear the Celestial Spirit World apart if he had to, to find her. Once her location was known, he would say "Now for my favor. I needa know where Sammy's place is. There's a very specific spirit I need to talk to... peacefully, if possible. I'll also need the contracts for her next set of spirits." He would say, and once he got that location, he'd say "We should hang out when this is all over, a change of scenery would do you well. I'll pull some strings to get you a bit of vacation time as a thanks." and then vanish in a cloud of gold and cerulean dust. If she refused to tell, then he'd just have to get in touch with a different spirit who was just as useful, and half as resilient.

Once outside the door to Samira's mind space, her spirits would hear a loud knocking that was uncharacteristic of their fellow kind. Tensions would grow high as soon as it opened to reveal part of team Kaori on the other side. It was rare for any spirit to visit another summoner's spirits, even rarer to do it at that summoner's mind space. "Relax. If I were coming to attack, you'd be swimming already. Tweety, Dr. Who, Frat Girl, and Nightlight can all attest to that." he would say calmly before saying "Anyhow, I needa chat with nightlight." referring to the only (current) glowing member of the team, Amaterasu. If she came out, Aquarius would look her in the eye in the same way he looked at everyone else. "So, Apophis is its name." he'd then hold out the contracts for Samira's next spirits and set them in Amaterasu's hand. "It's no longer a matter of 'if' she can handle them; it's a matter of her not having a choice, but to handle them. Before, the task involved my summoner being the issue- so I took this on myself. Cap's not the problem here, so it's up to you lot to do what's necessary. With that said, I gotta do what's necessary for mine." he said and vanished in a cloud of gold and cerulean dust.

    Human World

It had been a full day since Kaori had gotten Samira to sleep, and four hours after Eclipse Team had tagged the snake. "Sammy..." Kaori said softly while gently nudging her friend. If she woke up, then Kaori would ask how she slept to start her day off civil. If she didn't wake up, Kaori would wait till she was done sleeping before asking. After that, however, she would be given a special flashback to when Kaori had first recovered in the form of two smacked- front and backhand. They weren't nearly as hard as the ones Samira have her, but enough to wake the woman up completely. Her next words were monotone, without emotion; but, they were brought about by the concern Kaori felt for Samira. "Those were for being hypocritical. Did you not do the same thing to me for putting my life in danger while you were ignorant of the matter? You intended to try and fight that thing alongside me while too tired to put up a mental wall, and then tried lying to me about not being dead tired. I'm not strong enough to fight that thing alone, and I'd abandon any mission the second you went down- world be damned. Exactly what do you think I'd do if you went out there and died because of your pride? Surely you don't think I could simply replace you? There's not a single person in existence that could replace you, and even if there was, I would never let them." Afterwards, Kaori had tackled Samira to falling over to the other side of the couch while holding onto her tightly. She would notice her shirt getting wet where Kaori's eyes were supposed to be. Even though her voice contained no emotion, her sadness was enough that her body couldn't lie. "Even if no one else in this world needs you, if all the knowledge was found, all the ruins explored, all the monsters killed, and all mysteries solved... I will always need you. Of all the people on this ship, you're the only one that's indispensable and irreplaceable. If you were gone, I'd have no one to hold me at night and stop me from losing what little humanity I have left. I know it hurts you to rely on me, and I'm sorry that I make it so difficult... but please..." Kaori began gripping the back of Samira's shirt while hugging her tighter "...please don't do something that'd get you killed." The crying had broken through her medicine, and likely would result in her having a panic attack like back in the Ancient Ruins without that medicine. "I can't lose anyone else... especially you." she said while crying in full force.

Kaori would slow to sobbing after a good thirty or so minutes, and fully stop crying shortly after that. Once finished with her crying, Kaori sat up and wiped her face before looking at Samira's shirt where her tears had soaked it. "Snoop Genie, Samira requires a dry shirt please." Kaori said and the sound of snapping was heard, with no genie in sight. Just like that, her shirt was dry- no need to change. "Thank you." Kaori said and got up. "I need to go check on things. After which, I'll be going down to get the materials for a new pair of boots... I trust you'll be coming?" With Samira's answer in tow, if she followed Kaori then she'd find herself at the research lab with Dr. Zhong and Eclipse Team. "Hey Captain..." Ghost said in a tone that implied something was on his mind as soon as Kaori walked in the room. Kaori turned her head to meet his eyes. "Something that was off while we were down there... The snake didn't exactly put up much of a fight with us. It's almost like it wanted to be tagged, like it knew why we were there." Kaori nodded in acknowledgement and walked over to a room with an egg in a case. She did a scan of the egg and made some recordings on a nearby computer while waiting for the doctor to finish what he was doing. "Harro!" Doctor Zhong said to Samira, the sound of which almost made Eagle laugh. "You come kill big snake, yes? Here, you take this. This record data, you not fight so safest with you." he said, shoving a small device into Samira's hand that was already powered on. "She does fight, just not on the front lines. I'd be useless otherwise." Kaori said while checking the tracker on the snake. "Very true, you level whole world not for her." Zhong joked. "Well... you're not wrong." Kaori said and stood up. "Alright Eclipse Team, Sammy- party time." Kaori said, letting everyone know it was time to make some snakeskin clothes... if that was possible. With that said, they'd all be taking a shuttle down to the border between Bosco and Earthland where the snake would arrive within an hour or so.

Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private Empty Re: Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private

Post by Samira Nassar 9th November 2017, 4:36 am

    Celestial World:

Jing Wei had started her day off just as she would any day. Oh wait, work never ended, so when did her day ever come to a close? Scrolls, contracts, broken oaths, lazy spirit co-workers; the same routine every day. The work never ended; it just piled on. Luckily Samira had not needed to call on her recently not did the other spirits come to pester her, at least not the current ones. Being a dedicated spirit that was a step ahead with her organization, Jing Wei had already contacted and spoken to some other spirits that were lined up for soon to be active contracts. Some that were very powerful where rank was concerned, and some others that had decided to finally sign on the dotted line even though Samira had been powerful enough to handle them long ago. Perhaps they were waiting for some other criteria to be met rather than power.

The spirit of extreme organization skills and professional workaholicism was in the middle of re-organizing a set of scrolls that had been signed and validated for some other celestial wizard that had just acquired their magic and keys. It was her five minute break and still she worked away. "Hmm, that isn't quite right," she commented to herself as she looked at the scroll pyramid she had built. As if she were playing a game of Jenga, Jing Wei reached out and grabbed the end of a scroll in the middle with the tip of her fingers. Slowly she began to pull it out, her facial expression displaying full concentration for such a delicate procedure. "Alllmmooossstt." Then her ears picked up on some whispered gossip of Aquarius showing up in the building. "Wait, what?" Stopping mid-procedure, she rose her gaze to actually see him coming her way. She let out a short surprised and yet terrified squeak, and in the process of reacting the scroll had been pulled out quickly unintentionally. Her eyes widened in panic but she relaxed and sighed with relief as the scroll pyramid remained intact....for a few seconds. In horror she watched as the creation collapsed and scrolls began to roll off her desk and onto the floor beside her. The bright side was, she was now holding the scroll she had wanted. With a nervous smile, she put down the scroll as Aquarius reached her desk and mentioned he had some questions and a favor. Another one of those times. She remained composed and did not act like some teen that was meeting their favorite male idol. The threat made last time remained, and if she was a good girl maybe she would get another hug at the end of the day. "Just make sure it's something that won't get me in trouble," Jing Wei requested, but sweatdropped when it appeared Aquarius had already turned his attention to one of her bosses. Yeah, it was doubtful he was there to just chit chat about non-important matters. For him to be there at all it would be to obtain information only a contract spirit would have. "Well, those with the Aquarius title do tend to share some strong personality traits. No offense. Please don't sink the place!"

Begrudgingly Jing Wei left her work area to follow the Zodiac to the break room. All that work piling up just being away for a few minutes would be extreme! But, to refuse to leave her office area would probably result in even more work. Jing Wei took a seat at one of the tables in the room once they had entered and then so began the task of keeping Aquarius happy enough to not sink the place. "Hmm, so that's what has been going on," the young spirit said as she looked up towards the ceiling and tapped her cheek with her index finger. She kept her link with Samira at a minimal so she did not really get an update about a colossal snake. There were a ton of spirits coming back for new contracts though, and even some new ones that had been drafted and yet to be completed were sent to the endless void of pointless and forgettable paper. Her gaze came back down when Aquarius spoke once more. The details of the first facility incident she knew about from what had been told to her, and then there was the earlier mention of a big snake monster slithering around. Another clone. The question that would follow was predictable seeing as she was probably the only one outside of the actual desert spirits that knew of the clone's original. Record keeping did have its benefits. Although to call it a contract would be quite a stretch. That thing was sealed...as far as she knew. "Honestly I shouldn't be giving you any sort of information after last time," the young spirit said as a scroll materialized in her hands. "But I like a dry work space. Lets see here," Jing Wei opened the scroll and upon its surface were all the names of the spirits that were part of Samira's key collection. "Mhm, just as I thought." The scroll disappeared from her hands in a puff of celestial particles. "I think you're dealing with Apophis, although that's a bit ridiculous. He's sealed, and there's no way Samira fits the power levels or the criteria to summon him." As the Zodiac mentioned it likely being a copy, Jing Wei agreed. It was the only possibility.

"Ugh, you really do want me to get fired, don't you? I am trying to get promoted! Your last visit here already set me back by about fifty years!" Keeping a Zodiac happy just to keep the building intact was tough work. On one side she'd get in trouble for giving out all that information, and on the other she'd have to deal with the temper tantrum. Boss wrath or Zodiac wrath. Being an underling sucked! "All right, lets see where Ms. Refuses to Contract is hiding these days. Just don't blame me if she tries anything on you." A different colored scroll appeared in her hands and upon opening it she could see certain details about the requested spirit. It was...well it was short seeing as she had never made a contract and had a very vague history. At the very least it had a location of where she was last seen, which had been given to Aquarius. Poof went the scroll. Then came the favor. Was giving out all of that information already not considered favors? Zodiacs sure were demanding! "Oh, is that all it is?" The girl spirit let out a sigh of obvious relief. Since she was Samira's spirit she wouldn't get into trouble at all with the higher ups for giving the mind space location. Still, with him wanting another set of early contracts it would set her promotion back by another one hundred years! Jing Wei was dying inside as she handed them over. Her reward was a comment about hanging out, vacation time, and string pulling. It was all worth it! Lucky for the Zodiac, he vanished before hearing her let out a high pitched and excited school girl squeal. "Did he? Nooooo! I can't believe it!" Her eyes turned into pink hearts and her cheeks became a pink hue. "I just got a date with a Zodiac! O.M.G!" She was moving up in the world! Well, not really. Chances realistically were that he didn't mean for it to be a date at all. That possibility never crossed her mind.

    Samira's Mind Space:

"Was that seriously a knock? Wait...since when do we even have a door in here? I kind of just warp in every time."

"Lets just ignore it. It's probably some weird spirit wanting us to buy something. Wha-hey Serqet! What do you think you are doing?"

"I am going to check the peep hole! Shhhh. We have to do this quietly or they'll know we're home." The carefree scorpion tailed spirit walked on over to the mysterious door that apparently no one bothered to acknowledge beforehand. Through the peep hole she looked to see a familiar Zodiac. Naturally, being the way she was, she opened it without a thought and with a wide grin on her face. "Aquarius! Hi!"

"Oh, you have got to be kidding me! Close it! Then lock it with something water proof!" Too late. He was already allowed to enter, courtesy of Serqet. Susano could only slap his forehead with his palm, and the others grew agitated. They all knew very well how that particular spirit operated. May as well expect the worst. The nicknames given made them all look at each other with confused expressions. Process of elimination was made, but they were all still very confused. They didn't understand any of them aside from maybe "nightlight."

"Hello, Aquarius. Have you finally come to add the lake I requested some time ago?" Amaterasu was in the crowd of spirits that were lounging around the mind space. Being referred to as Nightlight amused her greatly, and since she never even feared Aquarius the first time they met, there was little need to fear him on the second occurrence. She stepped forward with a small smile on her face to combat the more serious one he had. It evaporated quickly at the mention of some Apophis character. She had no idea what he was referring to. Perhaps it was the name of the monster Samira and Kaori were about to fight. Serqet got a little weird after hearing the name, but then that one was always a bit off, even for Amaterasu. The light spirit took the contracts while listening to his words, although she cared not for them. The smile returned when he left. "Such a forceful one, he is."

"Such an annoying one, he is. He really thinks he can pull that no choice crap on us? He would of been better off talking to the spirits that are in those contracts. It's not like we can order them around."

"Our dear Aquarius will just have to be disappointed that he wasted a trip visiting Jing Wei. I ignored the rules last time since it was my own contract. These other spirits will come to Samira when they desire. Although, I suppose giving a little nudge wouldn't hurt." The contracts then poofed from her hands, having been sent to different corners of the realm where each spirit resided. They had already done the dream connections, so really it was unlikely much nudging or convincing would be needed for their attention.

    Back In Mortal World:

After a whole day of sleeping, Samira heard a gentle voice and felt a soft nudge. The actions seemed to do nothing at first, but it had broken the deep sleep barrier. A couple of minutes more and  the summoner had woken herself up. "Kaori?" She asked in a sleepy tone due to having just woken up. The memories of what happened before she fell asleep had not hit fully. "I slept well, I suppose," came her response as her mind started to put the pieces together. The full puzzle was forced into completion within a second as she was struck, not once, but twice across her face. Complete shock came over her as her eyes widened and she became stunned. So, that was what that felt like. Never in her life had she been struck like that even though she was known to do it to others. Her eyes began to form tears, but no doubt she would claim it was nothing more than a simple reaction that happened on its own due to the stinging cheeks. In reality, the woman just then found out that she was sensitive to slaps across the face, especially when combined with a scolding, however emotionless it was. Having her own methods being used against her was something she did not predict. There wasn't even an argument she could make that would be convincing. She had thought she was fine regardless of how little sleep she had, but Kaori was right in the fact she lacked any sort of energy to be useful in a battle. Mistakes would be made, and even more powerful wizards could die from a simple error or miscalculation.

Her green gaze looked to the side, away from Kaori's direction. She felt small and ashamed now, even a bit humiliated from having to have been scolded in the first place. Now she would have the label of being a hypocrite. The conversation shifted as Samira found herself suddenly tackled by the ninja mage, who had started to cling to her and sob into her shirt as she continued to speak. The emotions were breaking through the medication, that much she could tell. Once more she was unintentionally hurting her friend, only that time it was because she had refused to properly take care of herself as well as not confide in her about what had been keeping her awake. Samira had no idea how she became so important to the other when all that seemed to happen when they were together was pain and heartache. Regardless of the criteria, she knew Kaori's feelings and the significance of her own existence for her. "I am sorry, Kaori," Samira said gently after the ninja began crying in full force and had stopped trying to speak. Her arms wrapped around her to hold her as she cried. Now she would have to hate herself for causing such a reaction even from a medicated version of her friend. "I will not try to lie to you again. Dying is also not on my agenda, so please do not cry. That was not my intent. I only did not want to trouble you with my own personal matters that even I consider trivial." She began to run her hand over the back of Kaori's head and through her hair to try and get her to relax and calm down the crying. A good half hour had passed with Samira being used as a living pillow to cry into. Just like a pillow, no words came from her. She remained silent and accepted her current role.

Once the crying had ceased, Kaori had made arrangements for Samira to obtain a dry shirt. Each time that genie was called upon he proved how convenient he was despite his odd state of being. "Yes, thank you, Genie." Upon the inquiry of whether she would be coming or not, Samira gave a firm nod. "Of course. You said before you could not fight it alone." With that said, the summoner followed after Kaori towards the research lab. Ghost's observation regarding the snake monster was peculiar, but then it wasn't as if she had any sort of background regarding monster behavior. As Kaori went off to check on some...egg thing, Samira awkwardly stood there, surrounded by technology she couldn't even comprehend.

Doctor Zhong approached her, causing her to smile and greet him as he had for her. "I suppose I could hold onto it," she said as he forced the device into her hand. From what she could tell the device was already running. Hopefully nothing else needed to be done with it while she was back on Earthland helping bring that monster down because if there was something extra attached she would have no idea how to do it. A sweatdrop moment then occurred as she heard Kaori agree that the whole world would probably be leveled if not for her existence. Well, that settled it. Samira had to make sure she never came close to dying. The entire world now depended on it. "Right!" The two magical women and Eclipse Team then boarded a shuttle that took them back to Earthland near the location of the snake monster's next predicted target.

On The Border Between Bosco and Fiore:

One hour had passed since they had arrived at their destination. Thus far, no sign of the colossal snake spirit monster. Although, as the time passed, Samira began to feel a little weird. The feeling was similar to the way she felt when around the red portal of the first research facility, but at the same time it was very different. Nevertheless, if that feeling belonged to the creature then it was moving closer and closer. If Kaori had noticed the reaction and anxiety within Samira, the green haired summoner would keep her word and tell her about it, red portal similarity included. Although it would immediately be followed up by how it probably meant nothing aside from its level in power.

No doubt the tracker would still be going and plans made to attack the creature. Unknown to Samira and likely everyone else, a certain spirit remained deep within her mindspace, so deep that even the other spirits had no idea he was there aside from one. Anything she knew; he now knew. Anything he knew; the clone now knew. He needed to have some fun so why not relay an extra bit of information and influence the battle? The clone was monster-like indeed and operated out of instinct. A failure to be a true copy where intelligence and personality was concerned, or so even he thought. Any plans Samira heard, if any, was then sent to the celestial monster by said spirit so it could be countered. Otherwise, the monster would be quite unaware of what to expect and react accordingly; which now had turned to attacking the targets it had left alone prior and even Kaori if she moved in on it. The only safe one was surprisingly Samira. One could assume it was because she was a unit that stood at the back, but it made no effort to attack her even with its long range abilities. That fact did not stop her from trying to participate in what was going on though. The keys for Amaterasu and Kali were drawn; two of her more offensive spirits. However, the moment their keys were unhooked and she raised them to call upon them, she felt a strong pain shoot through her brain, and the keys were dropped, courtesy of a certain invasive spirit. As if just realizing the woman existed, the massive celestial clone set its glowing eyes on her and began to ignore everything else. By then it probably had taken quite a bit of damage, but it was far from being done. A certain level of power was required, none of which existed on the field just yet from either mage.

'Oh, it figures you would be clumsy now of all times! Don't make me go out there and knock you on your head to give you a legitimate reason for that!'

'I have already tried to leave. It would seem we are locked in here, brother. We must be called in order to leave. I expect we have soon to be companions to thank for that.'

    'What a wonderful first impression.'

The head pain had vanished just as quickly as it had come. However, as Samira knelt down to reclaim the keys and reattempt the summoning the pain shot through her brain once again. The celestial snake opened its jaws and began to charge up an attack that was forming into a large sphere that crackled and swirled with powerful energy. It was faced in her direction, but Samira took no notice of it. Her hand went to her forehead as if that was supposed to suppress the pain that was still ongoing. "It is fine. I can manage to call you. I just...have to...there." The keys had been reclaimed and held in her hand once again. She stood up once more and held the keys out. "Open, Gate of the Ava...tar..." Before it could be finished Samira collapsed as the pain intensified.

'Do not place blame on me for this,' an annoyed and unfamiliar voice spoke within her mind just before she went unconscious. Dream sequence initiated.

Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private Empty Re: Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private

    Post by ○Kaori 10th November 2017, 4:55 am

Upon landing at the battlezone to be, Eclipse team began rushing to find a good spot to open fire from while also staying out of their captain's way. Kaori had looked around to get a lay of the land, noting several large boulders, an already collapsed brick structure, and a distinct lack of anything else in the area. Eclipse Team was taking shelter behind some tree stumps that were as far behind Kaori and Samira as humanly possible, over three hundred yards away. They knew from personal experience that any one of them could use a pistol, fire blind folded while drunk and tripping balls and would likely never miss a shot with how massive the snake was. Kaori and Samira had stood alone in the empty field while they waited for their enemy and the shuttle had already left quite some time ago. After ten more minutes, a pair of pods had slammed into the ground near eclipse team and the unit unloaded a pair of prototype weapons that were rumored to be able to level large buildings in a single hit depending on your angle. It worked by loading a two kilogram tungsten rod with a ballistic cap at the end into it, after wards tesla coils lining the barrel charged the rod with energy to the point where the electrons were ready to tear the atoms apart. Afterwards a firing pin slammed the ballistic cap, sending the rod forward at speeds not even Kaori could dodge before impacting its target and exploding. The weapons were each mounted on the tree stumps using bipods, and the tungsten rods were loaded. "Hey Cap, we're all set back here. You think we'll be able to do this in one shot?" Ghost reported in over a small communication device in Kaori's ear. 'I doubt it.' Kaori replied.

While Ghost and Tango were manning the tesla cannons, Shadow was setting up his own toy. For a while he and Bill were working on a weapon that worked by firing high caliber rounds and a rapid speed. It was based on the minigun, and contained four sets of three barrels arranged horizontally. The bipod had to be bolted to a surface, so it wasn't the kind of weapon you used for mobility... lucky for them, they wouldn't need to move much for this fight. The gun had a thousand rounds in total, and each round was outfitted with two blast caps; one on each end. The one on the back was for when it was fired, the second one was on the front and set the explosive off when it impacted something. This made it so the rounds had a lot less penetration, but a lot more stopping power. Eagle was setting up a twenty, a special sniper rifle that was used to turn tank armor into the equivalent of pudding. Against normal humans it was overkill, against a giant snake it was appropriate. The gun was a single shot weapon so it had to be reloaded after each round. Due to metal expanding when it was heated up, she'd only be able to fire it about thirty or thirty five times before the bolt was too hot to be worked. Then came Bill's baby, a machine gun that fired fifty caliber rounds at a slow speed. It wasn't as impressive as the minigun from hell or the tesla cannons, but it was the only weapon he would use.

As the giant snake was getting closer, Kaori had noticed Samira beginning to get twitchy. "Are you okay?" Kaori had asked, half expecting her to lie and say she was fine even though it was obvious she wasn't; but she didn't. Samira had told Kaori about how the first celestial cloning facility had a type of red portal, the same one that Doctor Zhong's notes had detailed. She told Kaori that she felt a strangeness near the portal, and that she was feeling that same strangeness again. She told her that it wasn't a big deal, but Kaori didn't believe that... Kaori had gotten close to her, placing her hands on Samira's hips and pulling herself closer to plant a gentle, fleeting kiss on the wizard's cheek before hugging her. "Before we fight, I want to apologize for hitting you earlier. Nothing gives me the right to harm you... Thank you for telling me this, and if you need strength, use the mana crystal I gave you. You'll experience a great deal, and gain the power to accomplish great things... terrible things, but great." Just as Kaori let Samira go, the sound of horses could be heard coming in the distance. As they approached, she noticed the armor belonging to the paladins of Pergrande. Along with them were some of Minstrel's guard as well as some gunners from Bosco who all gathered around Kaori and Samira. "I'm sorry for being late, the ride was long and we stopped to provide what little aid we could to the destroyed towns and villages we passed through." the head paladin said in an accent that made Kaori think there was a monocle behind his helmet's face piece. Kaori looked at him sternly, and then the rest of the army. "You all know there's a good chance you're not making it out of this." her words were declarative, not a question- she was establishing that they're guaranteed to die. The musketeer drew his sword "Mademoiselle, I fear no such thing as death. Let the snake come, I'll make a fine snake wine from it." the paladin drew his blade and dismounted his steed "A monster from Desierto or a demon from Sin, her lady's best shalt not fall!" he declared. The men from Bosco jest let out a battle shout in unison while thrusting their guns in the air to display their resolve. "Very well then." Kaori said.

Kaori turned to the group from Bosco and shouted "Rangers, fall in behind my men. That'll keep you all as far from the snake as possible. Paladins, you're in the front with shields at the ready! Musketeers, fall in, in front my met with rifles loaded. After the first shot, you'll flank around back and go in for the attack while the paladins and I keep its attention." The groups all split up with the guys from Bosco forming up behind Eclipse Team and aiming their magitech rifles in the direction the snake was coming from. The musketeers all had their muskets ready and formed a massive firing line in front of Eclipse Team, and the paladins got in the front to form a wall of steel. Kaori stood a few feet behind them and began taking the white glove off her left arm, revealing an intricate series of tattoos that began glowing a gentle blue hue. A pair of swords formed in front Kaori that were half an inch thick, two inches wide, and had three foot long double edged blades. At the same time, a drop of rain fell from the sky signaling the beginning of the downpour to come... 'From this point on, stay as far from me as you can.' she said in Samira's mind. With her being the only other wizard here, her getting close to Kaori while the tattoos were exposed would make her want to throw up.

Several minutes of tension while Doctor Zhong was giving Kaori updates on the snake's position from aboard the Ark of Destiny. "Here it comes!" Kaori shouted, each member of the small attack force preparing for hell to break loose... and none were prepared for just how much of it came. The snake appeared towering over everyone and fired a pair of lasers from its eyes that cut the paladins in half, every last one of them... The units from Bosco and Minstrel all opened fire and as ordered, after their first shot the musketeers dropped their muskets and drew their swords to begin running around the snake. The snake had turned to fire another set of lasers but something hit both its eyes and exploded, turning the orbs into holes in the snake's head that were cauterized shut. "Good hits!" Ghost shouted to his team, the attack using the only shots they had with the tesla cannons and one of Eagle's twenty millimeter rounds. The sound of ballistic gunfire then filled the air as they all opened fire on the snake, pissing it off enough to make it charge towards Kaori with the intent of hitting them. However, Kaori had left a crater behind her with a loud explosion sound as she instantly broke the sound barrier multiple times, ripping through the air faster than most bullets and appeared in front the snake's face. A firm kick delivered at mach two point five to the face made the snake fly sideways, crashing into the ground and sliding a bit before stopping. It lifted its head back up and shook it while snapping its jaws in shock at the force of that kick. While Kaori was ranked at the same level as Samira, her attacks were all much stronger than they should be... Her lightest touch was as strong as other mages of her rank's normal attacks, her heaviest hit was harder than those three or four above her.

The snake had tried glaring at Kaori, but it lacked eyes to do so with. The rain had kicked in fully and was drowning out the sounds of Kaori's movements, and the smell of water vapor permeated the air to put the snake at a major disadvantage. While Kaori had no scent at all, she did have a distinct flavor... The snake's scales were thick enough to take the damage that was being done by all the firepower of the two combined ranger forces, and it tasted the musketeers closing in behind it and with a swipe of its tail took care of them all. Meanwhile, Samira was fumbling with her keys and being particularly clumsy. "Open! Gate of Beasts and Slaves! Mammoth, Scarlet!" Kaori shouted and the two spirits came out. Mammoth had charged in first and jumped, slamming his hammer on the top of the snakes head to send it to the wet ground. Scarlet had fired all of her chains into it to bind it in place and buy Samira some time. Kaori had taken the time to charge he weapons with two highly deadly curses. The left sword was a curse that made it so the snake would begin rapidly losing magical energy, make the use of its non-melee attacks cost more energy than normal, and any magic effect that made it stronger would make it weaker. The other sword had a curse that made it so the snake would rapidly lose life force in heavy amounts, each blade had been charged with Kaori's ability to bypass defenses and easily went into the snake's skull just before it broke Scarlet's chains and fired a blast of venom at her that sent the spirit to the celestial world. Mammoth was bitten in half and went to join Scarlet, evidently, someone put baby in the corner.

The snake had turned to Kaori and began going in to take a bite out of her, and was immediately stopped by an entire brick building's worth of bricks being lodged in its open mouth. Kaori then vanished and reappeared as ten version that all began using telekinesis to lift swords and shields from the ground and fire it at the snake. The original Kaori had glanced over to Samira who was looking weak while trying to use her keys, but she had collapsed and as Kaori said before, she abandoned the mission. Kaori vanished, grabbing Samira from the ground before vanishing again and reappearing behind the gunners from Bosco to lay her down. "Open! Gate of Twins, Ira and Query!" Kaori shouted and the two spirits appeared. "Leave it to us!" Ira shouted and began shooting forward with a massive orb forming in front her and condensing to be less than a millimeter in diameter. She fired it and upon touching the snake's charge up attack, it exploded with the intensity of a super nova and made the snake fly backwards. Query had appeared near the snake and said "I reject this reality." causing the snake to see things that simply weren't there. From the outside, the snake was looking about wildly as though it were completely and utterly stoned and having a very bad trip. Meanwhile Query remained in place, vanishing and reappearing anything the snake got close. While the twins were strong individually, they even more powerful when summoned in unison.

Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private Empty Re: Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private

Post by Samira Nassar 10th November 2017, 12:12 pm

Samira had no way of knowing how the battle with the massive snake was going nor did she realize Kaori had abandoned her post in order to move her safely away. When her eyes opened, she was not on the rain covered battlefield; she was in some sort deserted village surrounded by a lush jungle environment. Drums and some sort of tribal music was playing in the background even though there was no one around to make such a thing possible. The summoner walked down the stone steps she had found herself standing upon and begun to follow along the path that went over a wooden bridge. Through the stone village she walked, passing by all the statues of serpents and side pyramids. For some reason the larger one in the middle got her attention as if it wanted her to go there. Another shaky wooden bridge was crossed, and from there she had reached the center of the village; the giant pyramid that was surrounded by the flowing river. It appeared to be the backside of the pyramid and so around the stone walkway she went until she had reached the other side.

Her eyes noticed the larger open space on that side, the serpent statues, and even the opening of the pyramid that had a feathered-like serpent carved above it. There was no need to go inside though. The being that had called her there was standing in the middle of the space, her back turned towards the summoner as she peered below where the abandoned village was. "About time," she said, still not turning around and seemed to be quite annoyed at having to have the conversation at all. Her appearance was that of a normal woman with some additional features attached. Like the feathered serpent that was carved within the entrance she too had feathered wings of pink and orange hue, as well as a serpent's tail to match. Her clothing had some tribal characteristics in design and thankfully managed to cover up parts that should not be shown so publicly. The music that had been playing picked up speed and volume until it finally came to an end. The spirit turned around to face Samira while placing a hand on her hip. "I'll have you know that I hate being rushed. The only reason I am even bothering to do this whole dream thing at all is because I want to kick that false serpent's ass! Damn asshole is giving off a similar aura as the one that kept eating my dreams! Those took actual effort to make!"

Samira just blinked her eyes, stunned that the powerful spirit used such language and seemed to have quite the problem where her temper was concerned. Lovely, another one of those types instead of a more calm and serene one. A storm was brewing over the pyramid as the anger within the spirit grew. Finally a blast of orange colored lightning was sent towards one of the serpent statues, eliminating it. "Do you mind controlling your temper? I am getting wind blown." It was true. The wind in the dream world had caused her dream self to have a mess of green hair everywhere. "She is not known for having a calm personality. Reckless and calm do not mix well together. Although, she is quite powerful in her own way." Another spirit materialized within the space, less tribal in appearance to make it clear it was not her own part of the realm and that she was merely a visitor like she was. A serpent she seemed to be as well; one that resembled the creature that was iconic to her guild. "You may call me Nu Wa," the newly arrived spirit said after she had slithered over to Samira and began to fix her hair with a light chuckle. "You are the summoner of Susano, yes? I did not forsee you getting so far."

"You're freaking out of your mind, Nu! We both know those stupid contracts were not ready. Miss Glows A Lot literally made them rain down on us!"

"Mine almost became an ingredient in a ritual. How unfortunate it would have been had it landed in the pot." Another spirit arrived, this one wearing a mask and if Samira had to give an opinion, was quite ugly. He was frail and thin looking, and his high pitched laugh made her cringe. More spirits arrived, leaving Samira to sweatdrop and get confused. Usually she only obtained a couple at a time. For some reason a large group was gathering. "Eh, don't worry, girlie! We're not going to fill up your head all at once. You got an oversized worm to take care of first! A few of us will get out there and beat it up for ya, but the rest will get a nice show from back here."

"You crazy lot will just pick any summoner, won't you?" The first spirit said with a roll of her eyes as she walked up and poked Samira in the nose. "You have raw power to get this far so I guess there's that. I don't really much care about your lack of physical power since I'd rather beat the shit out of asshole enemies myself. You're not a complete evil bitch or one of those high maintenance snobs." She said as she circled around Samira, ignoring the comments of the others that questioned what the hell type of criteria she was using. The spirit then stopped in front of Samira, tapped her own chin, and then gave a light punch to the woman's arm. "I like you enough, I guess. Not like there's any other summoner around to get me out of this place. Now how about we get this snake slaughter started!"

"You make it seem a little too easy. That serpent is too powerful even for you alone, Kuku," the second spirit said before turning to Samira. "You may consider our keys active once you awake. However, do not summon us one at a time. We will need each other's strength to bring that monster down. It will hurt a great deal, but I have a feeling you will manage."

"Yeah, I don't really care. Just don't die before I teach that thing a lesson. K? Good talk."

"Could you not have done this conversation without the mind attacks on me? Or locking my current spirits out?"

"Wasn't us, Sweet Cheeks. Although I reckon that is something dear Kuku would do. For now, we'll leave that doozy of a mystery for later. Ciao!"

"See you on the other side!" The way the spirit returned the summoner to reality? A nice punch to the face! As soon as the fist made impact, the real world Samira snapped awake and quickly sat up. Surprisingly, she felt no pain from the impact, although it did leave an uncomfortable feeling regardless. It went ignored as she blinked her eyes and noticed she was not at her original location. If Kaori had noticed she was awake and attempted to speak with her, the words would go unheard, and the woman would be pushed away if she came near and tried to stop her from getting up to take part in the battle. The devastation was great and bodies from the other countries that had come to aid in battle were everywhere. Even normal people incapable of using magic had come to fight the creature, and there she was, a magic user that had yet to even do anything. Safe and sound and useless once again.

'Angry, are you? I consider that a great motivator. Ready to take a massive loss of energy?'

Samira made no reply aside from unhooking the set of inactive keys she had taken with her before leaving her room. As she performed the calling of the first spirit, its key began to glow as it already began to take her energy. “Open, gate of the Avatar, Serpent of the Nine Winds! Kukulkan!” A portal much larger than her other spirit portals opened up above the battle and in the skies. From it was not the woman she had seen while in the jungle dreamworld, but rather a giant flying serpent that had feathers along its two pairs of wings and head. Lightning had joined the rain that was already pouring and the wind had also picked up. For some odd reason the serpent even came with her own theme music; the sounds of random drums and other tribal instruments suddenly played.

The enemy snake seemed to be rather occupied and distracted, but the spirit incarnation of Kukulkan did not care. She was offended such a thing existed and how it put a black mark on their kind. Bolts of lightning had hit it during its dazed confusion of the smaller spirit's abilities, and seconds later the feathered serpent crash landed right into it, sending it back even further. The celestial monster snapped at the wings, injuring her slightly and causing her to take off. As she did, even without its sight it could tell where she had been going from its other senses. Another orb of energy was being charged, but it was interrupted by the second spirit that had been summoned. The one that had been called Nu Wa while in the dream appeared. Five colored crystals were floating at her side when she left her portal, but all came together in a single attack that had stopped the enemy serpent's attack.

The amount energy taken from calling just those two spirit was great, and Samira could feel herself being drained quite a bit. 'You still have enough energy to spare. Your weaker allies require aid. I have heard of one of your abilities. Use it and my power is yours.' One of the newer spirits said in her mind. He was rather optimistic that the two offensive spirits could handle the enemy, and was more concerned in providing support. Due to knowing the strain of having three spirits out, he did not want to risk a full summoning for his presence. Samira nodded and took hold of his key, holding it out and using even more of her energy for a partial summon that led to her gaining his abilities in his place while still costing the same amount of payment. Her clothing changed to match something worn from that particular spirit's culture; a long red and white dress that was not at all suitable for battle, at least for a front line person. For her it would probably go without rips and without her having to trip over herself. The rain that was pouring down did not get the silk-like fabric wet. In fact it seemed to absorb it. 'Use my power to restore your allies.' Samira took a deep breath to get focus. Concentrating on the new type of power that particular spirit held, her body began to glow a light blue as did the rain around her. The droplets were all collected and gathered in front of her until a small sphere of water had formed. With a gentle touch, the sphere dispersed into energy that spread through the whole battlefield, healing those that had been injured during the attacks. By then, Samira felt dizzy, but she was satisfied that she contributed something.

Kukulkan and Nu Wa continued their attacks on their cloned serpent relative, aiding in whatever way they could with the rest of the fighters. Although, it was beginning to become apparent that thing was created with some of the best genetics possible. It was powerful even for all the spirits present. No matter how many times the flying serpent clashed against it or how many times the lamia spirit shot beams at it, it would not go down. The creature was weakening, but that was all.

"This asshole is more stubborn than I thought he would be!" Kukulkan shouted as she swiped the giant cobra away with her tail as she flew over.

'You require a third official sssummoning, my dear human.' Samira began to hear another voice in her head, but that one sent chills down her spine. It reminded her of so much and yet she didn't know it at all. The sharp pain through her brain also came back. 'Do not be alarmed. I am here to help you. Not to be sssummoned, of course. You have othersss for that. The light ssspirit will look ssso pretty on thisss field, don't you think? Usse the mana cryssstal.' The voice then went away and the chills were gone. It seemed he only appeared to advise that it would take yet another spirit on the field, Amaterasu to be specific. Samira looked down at her hands where the mana crystal suddenly materialized within it. How she didn't know. She didn't remove it from her bag nor did her other spirits poof it into existence from the celestial world. The energy didn't feel the same. Perhaps it was the mystery spirit that enjoyed giving her migraines. At that moment she didn't particularly care to question it too much. She was tired of being useless and her contributions meaning nothing in the grand scheme of things. If doing the extreme and making a third official summoning happen then she would have to do so. She could apologize to Kaori later for putting her well being in a risky state. The energy of the crystal was used, the emotions within surging through Samira as it restored some of her energy. The feelings that were within the crystal were great and almost indescribable, reflecting that of Kaori's heart. Nonetheless, it gave her the strength to do what she needed to do. “Open, gate of the Avatar, The Shining Light! Amaterasu!” The short ritual was done, all while hearing the voices of her other spirits telling her to stop.

As the portal appeared and shone its bright light, Samira felt actual physical pain go through her from the summoning. Not only had it taken the magic energy from the crystal, it was also taking away her life energy the longer it continued. She could have fallen to her knees, but she was paralyzed and forced to stand there while taking it all. Dismissing wasn't possible anymore even if she did want it.

The light spirit jumped from her portal and ran towards the colossal serpent without any sort of hesitation. The clock was ticking again as it had before some time ago, only instead of trying to defeat a dark version of a mage before giant waves came down to drown all in the area, she was now aiding in a fight to take down a strong enemy before her summoner took more damage than she could handle. The intentions behind that strange spirit were unknown, but it was doubtful it had intended for Amaterasu to become more powerful in the process. She felt power she had not felt since that day. In a flash of light she appeared in front of the serpent while drawing her blade. In the skull it went as her weapon became energized with more power. It had gotten stuck though and seemed to not do as much damage as she would have liked. The serpent shook and tried to get her off while all the while snapping. Its tongue had managed to wrap around her, but was countered as two light clones split from her form and then cut her free. As she began to fall to the ground, she warped herself slightly away as Kukulkan came in for another attack in the form of biting into the celestial monster clone and then sending a large amount of lightning energy through it. The feathered serpent released when she felt fangs pass through her own scales. The enemy snake then tossed her aside, where she crash landed off somewhere away from the battle.

'Time grows short. Aid me in one final attack. If it does not go down afterwards I will have to depart. Remaining here is taxing on our summoner.'

'Ha! Not that I really care about that part, but I guess it would be a complete bitch if I had to wait for another summoner to get my key and actually be strong enough to use it.'

'I am glad you agree, or I would have suggested you be the one to leave, Kuku.'

The three remained where they were since they all had range attacks capable of hitting the serpent. Nu Wa's crystals came together to make a bigger one that unleashed a colorful beam. The feathered serpent exhaled a giant bolt of lightning, and Amaterasu used an ability that had not been seen since that one memorable day of the past. A circle of light began to form above the serpent as she herself grew more radiant. As the attacks of the two other spirits combined and were about to make impact with the serpent, the circle of light above it unleashed a large pillar of light that surrounded the snake. Painful hisses from the monster could be heard and once the aftermath of the attacks had cleared it was revealed that it was still very much alive. Certainly injured and nearly at death's door, but alive. Amaterasu narrowed her eyes and grew angry, but she departed as she had said she would. She had remained on the field for far too long. The other two spirits disappeared as well for reasons unknown.

Shockingly, Samira did not collapse or fall to her knees. Instead her gaze was down at the ground, her eyes covered by her hair and bangs. Her clothes had returned to normal as that spirit had suddenly disappeared as well. If spoken to she would not answer, and if one were to actually raise her head and view her eyes they'd notice that they were closed. She was very much unconscious even while standing. From there, Kaori's team should have the strength and power in order to defeat what remained of the beast. Either way, unless it got sucked into some random black hole or something similar, towards the end one final attack from Samira would be made, if possible. A smirk would be on her face as she sort of regained consciousness. Or that is what it seemed like. Her head raised to stare at the battle with eyes that resembled more of a snake's than her own. "I told you I was here to help." Both of her hands went forward with the palms out and facing the direction of the colossal serpent. A large amount of dark energy was summoned forth and formed into a crackling sphere that was then sent towards the giant snake, exploding into dark lethal particles as it made impact. If it was not finished before, it certainly would have been then. The summoner's eyes would then return to normal as she lost consciousness once more, falling to the ground and having no memory of what had happened. Assuming the thing was still around for the scene to happen, of course.

    Celestial Spirit World

Aquarius had arrived at the farthest end of the Celelstial Spirit World, so far that he was absent from the fight entirely. As soon as he reached a specific point, darkness had began rising from the ground and creeping up his legs in a thick haze. "Looks like I'm in the right place..." he said calmly while looking out over the vast expanse of nothingness with the low laying black and crimson haze. He continued walking forward, unable to see the ground and hoping that no one left a random spike on the ground for him to accidently step on. He heard something out the corner of his ear swish by, but saw nothing when he turned his head to the direction it came from. Shimmering cerulean eyes narrowed before he continued walking, hearing the sound again but ignoring it. After another few minutes of walking the sound came again and Aquarius began locking in on the source, identifying multiple enemies moving around. His stalkers had locked in on the fact that they were no longer a mysterious presance and one tried getting in close to kill the newfound intruder- a mistake they'd soon realize. As the first one got close, a jet of water shot out and impaled it, wrapping around the being and moving it to line up with Aquarius's line of sight. It was some black, female looking thing in a skirt... His eyes narrowed as he heard others approaching and he let out a sigh. With an annoyed and slightly exasperated tone, he said "Your gonna be a pain in my ass aren't you...?" which was obviously a rhetorical question. The other four dark figures closed in and were all impaled on jets of water before being flung aside like rag dolls.... operation redundancy didn't seem to be working for the spirit.

As the zodiac spirit of water got further into the haze, he noticed himself feeling... off. He felt like absolute shit, like he was the scum of this world and the one he left behind, and that he was the source of great evil. He heard voices in his head, reminding him of all the times he screwed up, the people who got hurt and even died because of him, and the times where the slightest miscalculation resulted in the worst of consequences. However, for Aquarius, the way his mindset worked made it so this was of little consequence to him. The things that happened in his past life were just that, his past life, not his current one. He couldn't un-kill the people he killed, he couldn't un-fuck up his short comings, he couldn't make certain events in his life not happen; so there wasn't any point in crying about it during his new life. What mattered to him was what he did now and how those actions impacted those around him. As he reached what seemed to be the center since the voices had stopped, a proverbial 'eye of the storm' perhaps, the mist vanished and he found himself staring at one of the most powerful spirits- one that rivaled himself. She wore a gold mini dress that matched her nearly golden hair that dangled freely and went down to her rump. Her cloak was crimson, just like her eyes that carried a somewhat arrogant look about them... that, and her twisted smile. "So, I see yet another of your kind came... Now, what lies will you tell me to make your summoner seem worthy of my time? Or did you come asking for a 'favor' just like your record keeper friend?" the woman had asked while folding one of her legs over the other. "To be quite frank, I can tell from what I've already seen that you're not worth me or my summoner's time... and you're supposed to be a goddess. I've met false copies of divines that are more impressing."

Angra: "Yes, your summoner's, pet's feeble, faild abortions she calls spirits... her Avatars, as she calls them."
Aquarius: "If they're failed abortions, then what are you? A spirit so lackluster not a single wizard had contracted you since you showed up."
Angra: (nonchalant) "What can I say? I'm a girl of high standards."
Aquarius: "You're a transgender pussy of a spirit is what you are. Your little friends back there seemed like a more valuable waste of time than you."
Angra: "And yet you're still here... wasting your time... Such a worthless man. Tell me Iron Fist, did you enjoy the sight of your crew as they were slaughtered? Did you relish in the sight of the sea turning red with their blood? How about the sight of the sharks chewing on their limbs while you drifted away on the husk of your former ship?"
Aquarius: (Eyes narrowing) "Of course not, but I won't let that make me weak. I've got a new crew, and I won't let them down."
Angra: "I enjoyed watching your pathetic struggle, former pirate hunter... Their fates were rather amusing, and watching them die like the mangey mongrels they were satisfied me for a few minutes. The sound of that kid screaming for mercy as she was impregnated over, and over, and over again just befor they gutted her... classic."
Aquarius: "You're trying to test my resolve."

Angra's tone shifted from the same arrogant one to a much more impressed, less bitchy tone as she said "Oh? You noticed that? Well shit, I was actually hoping you'd attack." while getting up from her throne and walking down the stairs to stand on the same level as Aquarius. She placed her hands on her hips and asked "Now, what does an all powerful replacement zodiac like yourself want with a lowly spirit such as I?" as though she didn't already know the answer, she only got visitors for two reasons and Aquarius wasn't carrying her groceries so there only left the other.

Aquarius: "Things are getting crazier and crazier out there. My captain's coming across stronger enemies with every mission she takes on, and is quickly getting to the point where she'll need stronger allies."
Angra: "And what of her girlfriend? Is she not a capable wizard?"
Aquarius: "She's not bad, but she's only as good as her spirits are willing to let her be. They prefer babying her, letting her grow at her own pace and not forcing her to get stronger."
Angra: "I see, and your... 'Captain' is willing to do what she must? She'd use my power even if it tore her apart?"
Aquarius: "If it were possible for that to happen, yes. But from what I've seen of her it'd just hurt like hell."

Angra put on a her wicked smile again, the prospect of a lesser ranked wizard being able to summon her without dying instantly was certainly an interesting one. Such a claim to be made was bold, and left the goddess almost tempted to disprove it- but that would mean forming a contract with someone who very well may be useless. "It's understandable that you distrust Samira's spirits, but it's ill advised to remove all hope from them... even if they are false gods and goddesses. From what I've seen, the others already received their contracts and are debating on whether or not to help... and it looks like Samira will have no choice in the matter." Aquarius had raised an eyebrow at the notion of Amaterasu taking the pacifier out her ass and being a proper spirit for once... "Just how do you know all this? From what I've been told, you never leave this place... ever." The question was appropriate, and Angra had gave a light chuckle. "I'm the goddess of all of man's evil. I'm a part of every being capable of corruption, and they are a part of me. I'm part of nature itself, and as such, know a great deal about a great many people." Aquarius had shrugged, the explanation sounded a lot like 'something, something, magic stuff, shit that's weird' so it mostly went over his head. "If you know so damn much, you know how capable Kaori is. She's more powerful than any wizard I've seen, and is still getting stronger. The kid's got more potential than anyone in that guild she's allied with, and doesn't even bother acknowledging it." A pillar formed next to Angra that she leaned on and yawned. "You fail to notice that Samira has as much potential as your summoner, her spirits are just too protective to let her unleash it. Either way, I'll keep an eye on your 'Captain' and see if she's any fun to be around. I'd rather you didn't tell anyone about your coming here- that includes your record keeper friend." That answer was enough for Aquarius to accept and leave without another word. Just as requested, their meeting would remain clandestine... if everyone knew he met the goddess, other spirits would want to find her as well and both of them would never get a rest. He arrived just in time to see Samira go down and Kaori rush to her side, leaving the snake unattended while it began firing an attack. Mammoth had stood up, getting ready to go but Aquarius held his hand in front him and shook his head "Not until you're called on." he said, to which he replied by sitting back down. It was then that Kaori had called for Query and Ira, the two newest spirits, one of which could delete Aquarius if she so felt. 'Don't kill it, just keep it busy.' Aquarius ordered, knowing who the snake belonged to, thus, knowing whose fight it was. While Query was blatantly the stronger of the two, she was a polite individual and acknowledged Aquarius as the leader of the spirits and always followed his orders. Ira figured he had a reason for saying that, and first dealt with the giant death attack the snake was going to do, but didn't try to kill it. Aquarius crossed his arms with a stern expression while watching the various screens displaying the snake and the two summoners.

    Real World

Kaori hadn't paid attention to what Query and Ira was doing, they were strong enough that Kaori trusted them to stay alive. The members of Eclipse Team had stopped firing on it since their bullets were doing very little to break its scales. Shortly after they stopped firing, the fighters of Bosco had stopped as well and all took a knee while Kaori tried to heal Samira. She had no wounds that were visible, so the ninja wasn't sure if her healing would work at all. She couldn't possibly be low on magic power since she'd just slept not long ago and hadn't used any spells since then. She couldn't have taken any poison damage since the snake was never able to get to her, so the whole situation was confusing. Samira had opened her eyes and tried getting up, but Kaori tried to stop her and was instead pushed away. "Sam-" 'Let her.' Aquarius interrupted Kaori in her mind. 'But she's-' 'That snake is a clone of one of her spirits. This is her fight, so stay out of it and let Sammy handle things on her own for once. You're half the reason her improvement is as slow as it is.' The words were blunt, but very true. Kaori had always been the one to get up close and personal with the enemies and combined with Samira's spirits, keep them away from the summoner. Kaori relaxed and let Samira go, knowing that she would have to stop being protective of her if she was to get stronger. What Aquarius didn't mention, was that Kaori was half the reason Samira felt inferior. Kaori was stronger physically, able to send someone through a wall if she wanted to. She was stronger magically, able to cut any of her spirits down in a single hit and do the same to Samira herself. She was socially stronger; the leader of an entire clan, a noble in Minstrel, a noble in Bosco, a noble in Pergrande, a Wizard Saint, and the only thing they had in common was being Head Huntresses in Lamia Scale. Then, if you took away all of that... Made it so both of them were normal, magicless, guildless, plebeian ranked people... Kaori was born with her psychic abilities. Even if Kaori didn't think of Samira as being inferior to her, she knew that Samira felt as though she were standing in the ninja's shadow, probably looking for some way to get out from it.

Kaori had watched as Samira summoned two spirits that were completely new to her. Did she always have them and just never use them? Did she just recently contract with them? Kaori wasn't sure of it, and didn't plan on asking about it unless the topic came up in conversation. The first spirit was a great snake with feathers and a set of wings that were quite functional. The magic Kaori felt from it was strong, and from Samira's physical reaction, she wasn't ready to summon the spirit under normal circumstances... it was too powerful for her, but she endured. The second was a lamia, the very symbol of the magic user's clan which she belonged to, and quite a pretty one at that. It was the first time Kaori had seen a lamia outside of fiction, mythology, and paintings and they were all quite grim looking. White scales with a golden sash and black hair, fair skin on the human portion and an outfit that Kaori couldn't care much for due to how... revealing... it was. Kaori let out a sigh and stood up with a gentle smile on her face. 'Ira, Query, thank you both. You can go back now.' she said to her spirits in their minds, the two vanishing in red and azure particles before reappearing in Kaori's mind space in the Celestial world. Her outfit had changed, something Kaori had seen her do before and signified she was using one of her spirit's powers as her own. The level of healing rivaled Kaori's Caeles Cantio and caused all of the wounded warriors to be healed. Unfortunately, that effort went to waste when only four musketeers got up. The Paladins of Pergrande had been the first to be hit, and were all cut in half by the snake's laser vision. Their sacrifices weren't in vain since it let Eclipse Team know what priority number one was. That laser attack didn't need charging up, and taking out its eyes removed one of its senses from the equation as well. Kaori would make sure to write a letter to the leader of Pergrande for their donation, sacrifices, and usefulness. 'Fall back and regroup with the rest of us, this battle is won.' Kaori said in the minds of the four lucky musketeers and they did as told with absolute haste. The rest of their companions, all forty eight of them were dead. They were hit with the entirety of the snake's tail, crushing bones, shattering organs, and many were unlucky enough to have the tail roll over them to reduce their bodies into bloody puddles with bone bits mixed in. Kaori would send a letter to Minstrel as well to honor their deaths, as well as to Bosco as a show of gratitude for the support they sent. Samira's healing spell had saved the lives of four men, which was more than could be said if she hadn't used it at all.

Samira was holding the white mana crystal Kaori gave her. It was the one that was made from her own mana, and contained all of the emotions she had to deal with at that time. When Samira used it, she'd feel a plethora of emotions, both good and bad. She'd feel sadness from the fact that no matter what she did, Kaori knew she wouldn't be good enough for her. There was anguish from not being fast enough to prevent her from being hurt in the Ancient Ruins, despair from not being strong enough to face Samira, and fear... Kaori was afraid of Samira hitting her again, afraid of her getting bored with Kaori and leaving her, afraid that Samira would get tired of Kaori's surpassing her in so many ways and eventually leave, and the worst fear was that she'd accidentally hurt Samira. However, there was also a strong amount of joy at having met Samira at all. She was grateful for Samira's existence, and that she had stuck around Kaori for as long as she did. There was confidence in their relationship since Samira had felt comfortable hitting her and being dominant for even the shortest length of time. Kaori admired Samira's innocence, her ability to look at things positively, or bring herself to not kill an enemy, how she'd train herself to get stronger instead of getting discouraged by Kaori, how she could have so many spirits and still attract more, and how willing she was to try new things even if they were silly. She had never once turned Kaori away, and made her feel safe by holding her at night. She'd feel vulnerability, but a type of comfort in being able to be that way around Samira. The strongest emotion of all was a powerful amount of love, more than one would feel for a friend or a family member, the kind you felt for someone you wanted to be with romantically. A type of dependence on Samira for keeping her in line, keeping her human. It was the kind of love and dependence that would lead someone to change themselves to keep their other half around, and never be able to hate them, and always prioritize that person over them self. It was after the use of that crystal that Samira set forth a more powerful version of Amaterasu than usual. Kaori didn't know if Amaterasu had been holding out on Samira, or if the summoner had finally reached a point where Amaterasu could go all out and not worry, or if by some form of weird logic the crystal had awoken something in the spirit. But even with all their power combined, the snake still stood and it was with Samira's final attack and some very strange words that it had been finished. The fight belonged to Samira, and since she hadn't fallen yet, Kaori wouldn't step in- that was why she let Samira finish it when it was weak.

As Samira collapsed, Kaori vanished and reappeared to catch her. "Snoop Genie, transport Sammy to the medical wing on the Ark please." Kaori said and Samira had vanished from her arms. Kaori stood up and looked to the units. "You there, Musketeer." Kaori called in their native tongue. "I want two of you to come with me. I'll be giving you both a set of letters, one to take to Minstrel, the other to Pergrande in place of the paladins." She then looked at the men from Bosco "I want your leader to come with me, I have something I'd like him to deliver to Bosco. The rest of you are dismissed, return to your families before reporting in so they'll know your alive and tell them the tale of the paladins of Pergrande. Bravery at it's strongest, determination at its most abundant, and armor at its shiniest." The leader of the Bosco firing squad and two of the Musketeers came forth and vanished with Kaori. Eclipse Team had vanished as well and were taken to the research lab on the Ark of Destiny so they could put up their equipment before taking some time for a bit of R&R. Kaori wanted to visit Samira first, but she had a duty to the countries and families who donated their best and had to steel herself to uphold that duty. Each country receives a letter...

    Pergrande

'From the deepest corners of my heart I'd like to express my gratitude to you, your country, and the people within for your support in combating the gravest threat we've faced thus far. On behalf of the entirety of the Leraci clan as well as the magic using clan of Lamia Scale we acknowledge the will power, grit, determination, valor, and honor of every last one of the fifty nine paladins you sent. To abandon their position at the border of Sin, to come across the continent, to face an enemy no nation had stopped, and to fight alongside a leader they never knew; I am deeply honored to have stood in their presence. It was nearly instantly that they were terminated by our enemy by a surprise attack no one had seen coming, a power it had never used before. As the leader of the attack and the head of the Leraci Clan I, Kaori Leraci, take full responsibility for their deaths and have dispatched several of my finest to venture to the families of the deceased and deliver the message as well as several items. The items delivered will consist of a single coin from my country, the name tag of their deceased, the letter each man kept inside their armor, as well as the armor and weapon the deceased used. These will come at no charge to your country, and is the very least that I can do for the families that are now lacking a father, brother, sister, and/or mother. For your country, I shall donate some of my men for a single battle should you require it.'~K.

    Minstrel

'To the desk of the prime minister of Minstrel,

Your support in the latest attack that plagued the world was invaluable, and the contribution shall not go unrewarded. It is with great regret that I must inform you that almost all of your men had died during the conflict, with only four survivors. One such survivor has valiantly volunteered to make the journey to Pergrande's capital city and deliver a message in honor of the men who died on this day. The tale of your Musketeers and Pergrande's Paladins shall be told throughout my Clan's lands for decades to come. They'll know of the fearless men standing shoulder to shoulder with little more than a musket rifle and a sword, facing down an opponent that had killed all of Pergrande's best knights in a single attack. They'll tell how after each musket was shot, the Musketeers had flanked their opponent under my order and attacked it with not a shred of hesitance, and battle cries that shook the deepest levels of hell itself. My people will know the selflessness of the Musketeers, who sent one of their men willingly to deliver a message to a country they had no buisiness with instead of returning to his worried family. I will leave the collection of bodies, armor, weapons, and names to you; but know that should your country require an ally for a single battle, you will have an ally like none other.'~K.

    The Ark of Destiny

The man from Bosco was given a much less amazing letter, one that was a very generic 'thank you' with the same promise of support for a single battle the other two had. They didn't lose a single man since they were all back behind Eclipse Team, safe and sound, unlike the first two countries. Once they were given their letters a shuttle was sent to get them all to the nearest town, and Kaori had rushed to the medical wing where Samira was still asleep. "What's the status report?" she demanded of the nurse in the room. "Samira has sustained quite a few injuries. She has much internal bleeding from the over working of her magic, as well as the paths that magic flows are in turmoil from the use of your lacrima. It seems that your mana types are highly incompatible... yours being emotion based, and hers being linked to natural mana and her life force; some of which was used it seems. We can perform surgery for the torn lining in her stomach and intestines, but... she'll be lucky if she can use magic at all after today." The last part had made Kaori's eyes grow narrow, but then they grew angry. "I refuse to accept that!" she shouted and looked at Samira. "Samira is the strongest Celestial Wizard I've ever known- the strongest wizard in general! Her goal in life is to discover many things, explore, become stronger, and I'll be damned if I let her fail while I'm alive!" the shouting was heard throughout the medical wing and had made many of the crew there let out a sigh of relief. They knew their captain was empty, and hearing her get upset over something let them know that buried between heavy medication was still their old captain. Kaori felt herself losing control again, but not like when she attacked Samira, more so when she had first met Gabriella and seen the men in their hospital and when Samira was stabbed. Kaori's ruby eyes began glowing silver as the words from the spell played in her mind. The room had changed to one where Samira was laying on water with Kaori standing next to her, neither sinking nor getting wet. The night sky overhead sparkled with the zodiac symbols all lit up. 'Caeles Cantio...' Kaori said softly, repeating the words she saw in her mind and the energy came down as silver dust, moving around Kaori and Samira before coating them and vanishing. The scene vanished and Kaori began falling to her knees, but grabbed the edge of the bed to keep herself up.

While sleeping, Samira would have a dream of herself sitting in what would feel like hot water, the scent of incense around her being quite strong and a cool breeze flowing overhead. Looking in front her was very different, as though she were looking through a pair of diagonal slots in a door... a door that was connected to her face. She'd reach to touch her face and feel something that was much harder than skin, and upon removing the object it would reveal itself to be a very heavy mask. Turning it around, she would recognize it to be the porcelain mask with the steel center that Kaori used to wear with two pieces blinking. The piece that consisted of half the entire mask, and one of the smaller parts that represented one sixth of the mask, the speed of which would imply she was close to wherever she was supposed to be. Looking around her was a hot spring, but then the dream would end and she'd wake up in the middle of her room in Lamia Scale with Query sitting next to her, reading a book titled 'Twisted' with the picture of a twisted up pencil on the cover. "Please stay down." she would say in her gentle, mature voice while standing up and closing her book. A magic circle appeared and Kaori was in the room looking around with a bewildered look. Upon seeing Samira's eyes, her own began to water and the green haired woman would find herself in the middle of a tight embrace with a certain snow haired ninja on top her- good thing the internal damage was healed. Kaori pushed herself up so she could see Samira's face while hovering above her "Can you feel your spirits!? Please tell me they're still there!!" she shouted in a worried tone on the brink of fully crying again. Upon confirming she still had her magic, she'd hear "Thank god!" and be in the middle of another tight embrace. "I'm so sorry, I wouldn't have given you the crystal if I knew it was dangerous." she said between sobs, completely ignoring the fact that Samira nearly destroyed herself with her own magic, and would've done that even without the crystal... the crystal only made it worse. Kaori had been softly crying, but refusing to let Samira go. If her spirits were paying attention to Samira while she was out for the week, they'd be able to let her know that Kaori was the one who was healing her daily, even staying up several nights and had overdosed on mana crystals twice in the same day. The only reason she wasn't around when she woke up was that she had to check in on something in the research lab, and had assigned her most powerful spirit to look over her. "Samira, you and your spirits performed quite well back then. I'm not at liberty to discuss the entity we combated, but your spirits as well as Kaori's are very much aware of who it was. Now that all issues are resolved, I'd like to ask something..." Query turned her gaze to Kaori "Why did you not have me create a black hole and terminate the enemy instantly before you knew who and what it was?" Kaori had stopped her crying and sat up with her finger pointing up and mouth open as though she were about to answer the question. Then, as though she were shot in the head, she flew back and landed with her body across Samira's legs and eyes appearing as white circles on her face and smoke coming from the center of her forehead. She wheezed "I didn't think of it..." out while being amazed at her own stupidity. "I see, keep it in mind for the future. I'll leave you two to your devices now..." the spirit said and vanished in a cloud of azure particles. Kaori sat up, and adjusted herself to sit next to Samira before pulling the woman into her chest and holding her more. "A-are you okay?" she asked sheepishly.

Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private Empty Re: Samira & Kaori: Celestial Monster Hunt - Private

Post by Samira Nassar 12th November 2017, 12:57 pm

A week or more may had passed in reality, but for Samira there was no sense of time or being. There had only been a black void of nothingness as she remained unconscious ever sense the defeat of the celestial clone monster. She did not even comprehend the meaning of existence. Her body had been damaged and drained, and her mind had shut down. A spirit or two remained within the mind space at different intervals to keep watch, but never did they gather in large groups as they had done before the attack for fear that Samira would not recover properly if they all remained. Their keys were still with her meaning that normally they could have appeared on their own in the mortal world to communicate with Team Kaori or help in their summoner's recovery, but they were still locked within the celestial realm and could only go as far as the mind space.

Then one day Samira's mind was able to tap into existence again as a dream began to occur. Hot water, the scent of incense in the air, the weird slots she could see through; all of the new surroundings triggered her senses. Her hands went to her face as there seemed to be something heavy and unnatural placed upon her skin. Whatever the object was came off easily and the slots that her eyes had been looking through disappeared as it was revealed they had belonged to a mask she had seen before; both in reality as well as a similar dream. A full half of the mask as well as a smaller piece on the other half began to blink as she turned it over, as if it were some locator device that increased in sound and blinks the closer you got to what you were looking for. The forefront of her mind couldn't quite comprehend the connection to the first dream or its meaning at that moment. It had just recovered and got started with processing cognitive thought. However, something still told her to keep staring at the mask, as if expecting something more from it. While she currently had no memory of the vision the mask had granted her after the first dream, something else inside her seemed to recall it. Nothing happened. Her green eyes then looked up to see that she was in some sort of hot spring. The dream ended right after.

Samira awoke to first see a ceiling that looked familiar, although her mind was still processing why. The verdant colored orbs then shifted over to the side to see more of the surroundings. That's right. It must have been her room back at the guild hall. There was also someone there...who was she again? The person spoke, and as she stood up Samira remembered it was a spirit that belonged to...someone important. She blinked at the appearance of the magic circle, and then again when a white haired woman appeared. That was the important person the spirit belonged to, but who was she again? Samira noticed the watering eyes but she couldn't fathom why the woman looked as if she were about to cry. Then she found herself in a tight embrace with the newly arrived woman on top of her. "Kaori...," she said in an emotionless tone as the name of the woman came to her. Then everything else came back like a tidal wave and instantly caused one hell of a migraine. The urge to scream in pain from it was fought, but she still winced slightly.

Kaori raised herself so they were staring at each other's face, of which Samira's took on the form of confusion at the question asked. "My spirits? Why would they not be?" Even though the memory of using too much of her magic summoning creatures she wasn't fully ready for was there, she was unaware of how close she came to that being the very last time she would do so. Her friend was on the verge of crying though and seemed very worried, so she decided to check if they were still there, regardless of how silly to her it seemed. "Is everyone still there?" Asking whether or not the voices in her head were still there was odd even for her.

"Well, not everyone. I drew the short straw of absolute boredom today. Glad to see you finally stopped being lazy and actually woke up."

"Ah, you're just mad you got stuck with little ol' me today. I don't know why really. I bring with me the best background waiting music ever!" True to his word, music quite similar to what played when waiting began to play for her to hear.

"She's awake, dumbass! We don't need the 'on hold' music!" The door that had been revealed to them a week ago popped open with a gust of wind, and with another the incarnation of the god of music was blown through it before it closed. "Please tell me you are not getting anymore spirits! I am starting to prefer Kali over these new guys!"

Samira could only sigh at how well they were getting along so far. It was a little weird for there to only be two of them though. "They are still there." Of course, they would still be there. Rather than a nod of acknowledgement or stating she very well knew they would be there, Kaori gave off a different reaction. A phrase of relief, another tight embrace, and an apology. She was starting to wonder if the ninja had forgotten to take her medication. "Dangerous?" As far as she was concerned and knew the crystal had aided her. Without it she would not have been able to summon Amaterasu, and probably could have died from trying. She then remembered how that strange voice had told her to use the crystal to begin with. Now that she thought about it, there was no piercing pain nor did she detect its presence.

"That thing hasn't shown up since that monster was killed."

"A shame I could not obtain the corpse and reanimate it." The voice Samira had recognized as the thin, frail, and ugly looking spirit. He had appeared in the mind space in a puff of green sickly looking smoke.

"Oh hell no, zombie man! Get out!" Like his other mind space watch partner, Au Puch was blown out. "As I was going to say, there's something a little weird and disturbing about what happened. I can tell you don't have the slightest clue as to what I am talking about so we'll talk about that later. For the quick update, you've been out for about a week. Congratulations. I hope you enjoyed the vacation. Meanwhile Ninja Girl has been busy trying to keep your sorry ass alive. I think she even overdosed on mana crystals a few times from what the others told me. Skadi has demanded you give her a gift. Just for the love of the real gods don't let it be a rock."

It was then the large feathered serpent spirit appeared within the mind space, not in the human form from the dream, but in the actual serpent form that had been used in battle. "No! NO! There is no room for you in here! Get-" As the door opened and Susano was about to demand Kukulkan leave, the serpent's winds overpowered his own and sent him flying through the door. It then closed. "Freaking moron! There's plenty of room for me as long as everyone stays in that small corner over there. Now, for you umm... Samira was it? I'm not good with names. Things tend to be sacrificed before I care to know. Anyway, I kind of like your girlfriend. I personally would have just stabbed you in the heart and used your blood as an offering for power, but caring for you for an entire week and rarely leaving your side works too. Keeps me in the summoning business longer, which means more time out there." The spirit's words then paused for a reason unknown to Samira. Kukulkan had received a mental message from another spirit. "Wait...she's not her girlfriend? Dammit, Nu! I totally thought they had a thing. Oh, right. You're still here. We'll give you some peace and quiet for about...I don't know. I really don't want to have to stay here all day and I sent the other guy packing. Call this a day off." The mental space was then clear as the spirit left.

By then Samira had returned the embrace, although her part being more gentle as she was more or less trying to calm the crying down. She let Kaori go as she sat up after being asked the ultimate question that made both mages seem like complete fools. That...actually would have saved a lot of time and lives. Her reaction to it was a lot more composed as she took it more as a "Huh, yes, why did we not do that?" kind of approach and she nodded, acknowledging how ridiculous it was to not use such a power. Granted, in her case she wasn't all that aware of Query's abilities or their limits. Kaori, judging from her reaction, was quite aware. Not quite used to such an easy way out it seemed.

Away went the spirit after she had pointed out her summoner's flaw for not using black holes. It was a bit humorous to think about and she smiled for a moment, but only for a moment. A frown crossed her face as Kaori sat next to her and pulled her into her chest as she always did. Samira leaned against her, not minding the position as she had gotten used to it and it was rather comfortable. "Mhm," she lowly sounded in answer to the question and gave a small nod. "Kaori?" She called to further gain her friend's attention. "I am sorry for making you worry. I should not have risked a third summoning." Her arms wrapped around Kaori as she pulled herself further into the hold she was in. "Whatever happened or nearly happened to me was my fault. Not yours, or the crystal's. You should be scolding me for endangering my life, not apologizing." Samira remained quiet for any response that may come and stayed quiet for a few minutes afterwards. Now that her mind was working fully, she was able to remember the two random dreams more clearly and put them together. She didn't normally dream. They meant something important. Considering something relating to Kaori had been in both it most likely had to do with her. Step one would be starting from the first dream. "Kay?" Samira called again, that time using the nickname Kaori often went by. "Did you have a friend when you were little that you trained with? One not of your clan?" She had no idea why, but she felt she needed to find that person. Unfortunately, she also had no idea who she was or if she was even still alive. If she was, her location was likely back in Midi, of which she herself had never been to. Although even if she had it would be near impossible to search an entire country for an unnamed child that was now all grown up if still alive.
