True Royalty - Part One

A lot has happened the past couple of months, this included the GM meeting, finding out she was the queen of the Chinese Zodiac, she wasn’t fully human and she had the ability to speak to the animals that belonged to the Chinese Zodiac. It was starting to get annoying if she was going to be honest, but there really wasn’t much that she could do. She didn’t want to be queen, nor did she want to be on the search for the 12 royalties that were connected to the Chinese Zodiac in one way or another. Why did this have to happen to her?? It was indeed both a blessing, and an unfortunate curse. Summer had much more important things to do after all.

Sighing softly, she got on her knees and bit her lower lip, something didn’t feel right, someone was close by, and it wasn’t any pets nor the zodiac spirits that she was stuck. Was it someone else that she didn’t expect to come into the beautiful oriental forest?? She wasn’t so sure herself…

Suddenly, a voice she has never heard before speaks out, and she bit her lower lip. She quickly looked around as it spoke, but she didn’t understand who it was or what it’s duty was. It was a well and truly confusing matter to undertake.

“Summer Guiyang… A prince is near… Search for him!”

What… a prince?! Summer got off her knees quickly as she looked around, he was here somewhere… where could he be?!

“…” Shen looked over at Summer-senpai’s residence in the beautiful forest. He was mounting Héi at that moment, while a paper was rolled and stuck onto his shirt. He didn’t know the location earlier, but after a little researching back at the guild, her residence appeared to be right here… shaking off the wonder of this place, he dismounted. “Héi, follow me,” he commanded as he would enter the residence with the paper on his hand, while Héi followed troop. This place was a little odd, now that he got over the appearance… it felt like as if some wave had hit him as he entered. He was still on his toes and all, but the very breeze that caused the cherry leaves to dazzle around him signaled something. He didn’t know why that he felt that, but… perhaps it was instinct.

She wasn’t at this specific point, a thing that annoyed him a little. Although, he knew how to get her to expose her location, even in this large paradise. She had ears. “Senpai..!!!” he called out while forming his hands to work as speakers that strengthened the voice, “Senpai, come out..!!!” His voice travelled far, all the way into the paradise and out of it, across the gardens that could clearly represent Eden itself and all around the forest, perhaps. Even Héi began neighing out loud to catch her attention…

Hearing her nickname calling out to her was pretty normal. It seemed that someone was looking for her too. Dongsaeng was, if she was to be exact. The fireworks expert could hear her nickname loud and proud and so this made her feel a bit relieved about what was going on. Dongsaeng could help her find this person too… she would have to explain everything that was going on to him, however. She was sure that explaining wouldn’t be that much of an issue though.

Looking around some more, the female spotted a male in the distance. It just had to be her dongsaeng. “Shen?! Dongsaeng?!” The female called out as she pranced over to them in a flexible manner and halted her steps immediately as she was right in front of him.

“NI HAOOOOOO!” Summer greeted as she grinned before ruffling his hair, like the big sister figure she felt like she was towards the younger Chinese male. “I am looking for someone!” The female announced as she grinned, biting her lower lip in anticipation whilst the wind dabbled over her legs. “But I can’t seem to find them…”

Senpai was quick on her feet and rapidly showed up before Shen and Héi, beginning to ruffle his smooth, horned hair. “N-Ni hao…” Shen replied quietly under the ruffling. He couldn’t help it, he was still like a little brother for her; that did make things easier when being around Summer-senpai, though. Héi neighed loudly as a greeting to the fireworks expert and bowed its head and all, acting as if she was some kind of royalty. Given by Shen’s knowledge… nah, that couldn’t be the case. Could it?

She mentioned that she was looking for someone, but she couldn’t seem to find this specific person. “…” His eyes dazed a little, thinking about the situation, “… This person, is he or she somewhere here? Someone lost?” He wanted to know more about this certain person, because knowledge about their characteristics could help more than what they knew now. “… Have you tried putting up flyers?”

He was nearby? He was here? Her answers soared around those terms, but it quickly pushed him to realization. She was looking for someone specific, though, given by her question. Therefore, she couldn’t mean himself, could she? That would sound utterly stupid, so he quickly discarded that idea. However, as soon as he did so, a tiger appeared out of thin air. Its voice was that of an elder, but what surprised Shen was its purpose. Well done… if these words were taken into analysis, then it would only mean that what he denied earlier was the case. He was the one prince that Summer-senpai was searching for… but he didn’t recall having any royal ties to anyone. How did this make sense? When did he get himself into such a prophecy?

He slowly turned his face towards the tiger, the same blank face as always. It… or rather, he thanked the Chinese lightning mage for having watched over his Senpai, in which he lifted an eyebrow. The tiger sounded like a father to her given by those words. “My… my part?” Shen commented. The being seemed to make it all too clear for him; he was, somehow and somewhat, destined to be prince. It sounded illogical, but he kept listening to its words as the tiger mentioned the realm of the Zodiacs. After the tiger finished its explanation, Shen slowly turned his yellow eye at Summer-senpai, his face mixed with confusion and… a little worry. “… So I’m a prince, eh? Sounds fair.” Héi began neighing loudly afterwards, having spotted the huge predator that had arrived.

"Say... what does that make my Senpai, then? What's her role in this?" he suddenly asked. Having been told that he was a prince could sink in and all, but it was Summer-senpai who was searching for him first. It was her, who knew about this beforehand. Was she a royalty too? Did she claim a throne as well..?
