As Ikuchi and Samira were exiting the Wakusei portals in preparation for going back to Hargeon, more specifically, when Ikuchi was stepping outside of the building the portals were in; something shot from behind, slamming into the book carrying servant that made him throw his ten rare books high into the air while simultaneously being taken through the air. The landed was about as graceful as their take off, and resulted in Gabriella holding onto Ikuchi tightly, wrapping her wings around the man so as to protect them both from getting injured. A hundred feet out, when they finally stopped rolling Gabriella had seemed to have come out on top in the most literal sense, and she pushed herself up to get her breasts away from Ikuchi's face. "Ouch." Ikuchi said, letting his body relax and head tap the dirt road below him. "Where is Miss Kaori!?" Gabriella demanded, her eyes filled with panic. "At the castle being treated by Lady Ceostra." Ikuchi stated calmly, feeling that his luck would have it be another story. "Miss Gisen has been out of the castle for days... in the Cursed Lands." Gabriella said, hesitantly.

A magic circle appeared nearby that was fairly large, and as it rose from the ground a very familiar ship had materialized. A small girl wearing a pirate's outfit had run out of a port on the bottom, stopping in front of Ikuchi with tears in her eyes. Ikuchi's neutral expression turned into a frown as he didn't need to be told what was going on. A Celestial Spirit was away from her wizard, crying... "What are we dealing with?" he asked, not needing to be told Kaori was in danger. "I- I don't know... but we can't contact Miss Kaori! There's some dark energy sealing us all, and- and Aquarius-" "I care not for him- How fast can you get us to Hargeon?" he cut Charlotte off as she tried explaining that Aquarius was in a very hostile mood. "Get in, I can teleport the ship there." Charlotte said, turning to run back to run through the now opened cargo bay door. Gabriella had gotten off Ikuchi and flown back to retrieve his books. She would have to fly back to Hargeon as once Samira and Ikuchi were on board, the ship was gone.

As the ship appeared in front the guild hall, Ikuchi shot out of it and vanished to reappear across the bridge and vanish again. He had begun making his way to the medical area of the castle when he heard the sound of something being slammed. While Samira made her way through the guild hall, she would notice a large fist made completely of steel coming toward her, impacting her stomach and slamming her into the wall. The rest of his being began materializing as the cyan particles formed a very angry Captain Iron Fist. "You did this..." he said grimly, his glowing eyes reflecting the surface of the sea and was showing no capacity for mercy. A much larger fist hit Aquarius, sending him flying back through the hallway. A nine foot tall monster of a man who's body took up almost all of the hallway. "Nursing room six, fourth floor." he said in a deep voice. "The others are holding her back." he added, implying someone was fighting Kaori's spirits... When Samira arrived to the specified location, the cracked wall would explode as Scarlet and Jediniah flew through surrounded by darkness. As Ikuchi and Samira looked through, they'd see something that no one could have expected...

The room was in complete disarray... The cabinets that housed first aid supplies were reduced to nothing more than nails on the wall, the cabinets were on the floor and dripping with the contents of destroyed glass. The beds that once lined the room were reduced to splinters, scattered along the corners of the room along with the shredded remains of the bed casings and feathers of the insides of those beds. Cracks lined the walls where the marks of battle had been seen, and in the rubble was Scarlet and Jediniah. The two had large cuts in their bodies, and their eyes were whited out. The bone swords Jediniah held were broken, and Scarlet's shotguns bent irregularly. The two spirits vanished back to the spirit world to recover, and in the middle of the room was the shit of nightmares... Kaori's mask had been cracked so that one of her eyes could be seen beyond the metal under-layer of the mask. This crack expanded until the mask had fallen off... Her hazel eyes were set among a sea of darkness that was creeping inward, preparing to consume the last of her mind. Black tears had been flowing from Kaori's eyes as the betrayal she'd witnessed consumed her and sent her heart into chaos. Her eyes would narrow on Samira, not knowing that she was the original. As her shirofune began materializing in her right hand, Kaori would straighten herself up with more tears coming from her pain filled eyes... Samira would notice something wrong with the sword. It was no longer white, nor was it radiating light. The sword was purely black, and radiated a black smoke to reflect the darkness in her heart.

The task of visiting all of the phoenix shrines had been completed. Finally. If Samira could go back in time and prevent the idea of even visiting them from appearing in her mind she would have. Some good had come out of it, but she still worried over the bad. She just had to trust that Kaori would be healed and recover, and in time maybe she could visit without Kaori mixing her up with that awful false version that had been created by the Soulsmoke phoenix. That had been her plan, after all. Samira would head back to Hargeon and return to her normal business, avoiding the ships on the docks that she knew belonged to her friend. They never ran into each other on a normal basis so it would not have been hard to remain in the same town. If that changed, Samira herself would just leave for some excavation project to force that needed distance.

Samira stepped out of the Wakusei portal building just in time to see Ikuchi slammed into and carried through the air in a fashion that resulted in quite the ungraceful landing. "So, he kept her after all," she said quietly to herself as she placed her left hand on its corresponding hip and watched the two of them roll with the comedic end of her being on top with her breasts on his face. They seemed to get along well considering he didn't seem to mind the overdone tackle. The identity of the angel was still fresh for it had not been all that long since the arena matches, and there was no way she could forget that Gabriella was someone Ikuchi had actually picked out as a prize. Samira remembered feeling slightly jealous back then due to how that entire night played out, but at that moment she felt nothing. She had no right to feel anything.

Samira had begun making her way over to them when a large ship materialized, and from it a crying Charlotte. Her heart instantly sank as the possibility that Kaori's treatment was not going well became realized. That would of been the only reason for her to be in such a state and away from her summoner's side willingly. Her pace quickened enough so that she had caught parts of the conversation. They couldn't contact Kaori? A spirit should always be able to make some form of contact unless they were purposely being blocked out as she herself had done before. Kaori was never known to do that, and it was a trait that had harshly been pointed out back when dealing with the Shadow phoenix. Samira's eyes narrowed as her worries grew. Something was wrong.

'I know what you are thinking, but no. The celestial world is a big place so we can't actually track down her spirits and see what is going on from there. If it's as dire as it seems they wouldn't stick around up here anyway.' Susano's voice entered Samira's mind. The unsettling feeling he had felt earlier had grown, and it seemed he would have to be the cautious one between his summoner and himself. He could feel how Samira worried and it resulted in him worrying that she would do something completely stupid. 'Stay cautious, and whatever happens know that we are here. Do not shut us out again no matter what you are feeling.'

The summoner quickly got on the ship as the others did, well, all aside from Gabriella who went after the books. Priorities. The ship teleported to the guild hall and as soon as she was off she ran as fast as she could across the bridge and through the entrance. For some reason it seemed nearly abandoned. Normally it was a lively place with other wizards making their way around the castle, but now it seemed everyone was gone, as if they were escaping something they couldn't handle. She took a turn once inside and began to head towards the medical area when a large steel fist came flying towards her, slammed into her stomach, and remained there to keep her pinned to the wall. To say it hurt was an understatement. She was not accustomed to being treated so roughly and the only sounds she could get out were ones of pain and whimpers before the spirit materialized himself fully. "Uggh...Iron..Fist?" Clearly he had not been informed of what really happened. That or he saw it the same way as Ikuchi had, only he was less merciful about it. Either way she was in trouble.

'Dammit! I was hoping if one acted like a rabid animal it wouldn't be the zodiac!' Susano could actually feel the pain of his summoner now and was about to summon himself rather than be called in order to save her even if he was technically weaker than Aquarius. There was some luck as another larger spirit appeared and sent Iron Fist flying, removing his fist from Samira's stomach in the process. She landed on all fours and with gasps of pain clutched onto her stomach with her right hand. Samira recognized the larger spirit and it seemed he at least knew some information since he was actually helping her rather than assisting Iron Fist. She pushed her free hand against the nearby wall and began to use its surface to force herself up. "Nurs...room six..fourth."

'Floor. Are you sure you can make it?'

"It could have been worse." The hit still pained her as she moved but she was moving nonetheless. She could have stayed there and let it be someone else's problem, remained on the sidelines as she usually did. This was something she had to see for herself though and therefore she could not be idle. She could not allow herself to be the cause of pain again!

Step by step she came closer to the medical area, and as she got near a cracked wall it exploded and two of the ninja warrior's spirits flew through and became surrounded by darkness. She looked through to see the room was in total chaos and in pieces. But that was not the sight that made her heart sink into deeper despair. The woman that was inside took the shape of her friend, but she was twisted into some creature of darkness. It leaked from her very being and she could tell Kaori had lost her mind. Did she really cause that much darkness to enter her heart? Even her weapons no longer had the white glow of light but instead had a blackness to them as if they were weapons forged for agents of darkness. "Kaori?"

'I'm going to go with no. Get out of there! Now! You can't fight her in an enclosed space like that! Get outside the guild hall!'

    "But..."

Susano could already feel Samira not wishing to harm her friend if it wasn't necessary. She wasn't a fighter and normally disapproved of it if another action could be taken. That current moment was not one of those times. As a celestial spirit he could feel the absence of light, and if any remained it was buried deep within. There would be no reasoning with Kaori as she was now. 'GET OUT OF THERE NOW!' He didn't even care that Ikuchi was there to assist if need be. He wasn't sure how the beast would react to seeing his master in such a way and he was not going to rely on him to keep his summoner safe. Her best chance was changing the battlefield.

Samira jumped at Susano's yell and left the room, trying to make a break for it. In that room Kaori would cut her to pieces. She needed room to run and evade and room for her spirits to do their work without ending up like Scarlet and Jediniah.

"She's not real..." the words echoed in her mind. "Shut up." she squeaked, her voice already as weak as possible. "She'll betray you... everyone will betray you..." Samira said, her voice becoming the source of much pain. "You're not real..." Kaori said while looking through the hole she just blasted and saw Samira's face. "YOU'RE NOT REAL!" she shouted with a voice filled with pain that made Ikuchi realize just how much of his master was left. As Samira jumped, Ikuchi grabbed her and threw the small woman out a nearby window- likely leaving cuts from the stained glass. He formed a barrier in between himself and Kaori with the full understanding of what was to come next. Kaori charged as black liquid flew from her eyes, her incisors having seemed to sharpen greatly. Ikuchi braced himself for impact, not know what sort of power her new state would entail.

As Samira dropped from the fourth floor, an explosion of black energy would go off behind her with Ikuchi erupting from it. He vanished and grabbed her before vanishing and reappearing down below. He set her down just in time to see Kaori jumping after her. Ikuchi created his katana, using the side of it to catch Kaori's sword and being forced to a knee. He pushed back, and redirected the blow to make Kaori fly backwards, rolling on the ground and coming to a stop. She began slowly getting up, and Ikuchi stood between her and Samira. "Master, you are not yourself." "You... betrayed me." Kaori sobbed while getting up. "You chose her... always... chose her..." Kaori said while reforming the black sword. "Master, you know I would never-" "LIAR!" she shouted and shot at Samira, and was once again blocked by Ikuchi. "YOU'LL ALL BETRAY ME!" "I would never!" "LIES!" Kaori began slashing at Ikuchi rapidly, each hit being blocked by the side of his blade.

"That's right... he already abandoned you..." Samira said while standing behind Ikuchi, grinning her conniving bitchy grin. "... I stole your servant, why else would he be protecting me." she said with eyes of coal. "YOU CONSTANTLY CHOSE HER! YOU NEVER THOUGHT OF ME OR HOW I FELT!" Kaori shouted, the pain dripping from each and every word. "YOU'RE WRONG!" Ikuchi said while blocking her blade again. Their blades crossed, her forcing him to use the edge itself to stop hers as the black shirofune slid to the grip. "I despise that woman!" he announced, revealing his true feelings towards Samira. "You're heartless, and kill every enemy! You're further from human than I am, and have no concern for anyone or anything you destroy so long as your enemy dies!" Ikuchi shouted while holding that position. Kaori disconnected and sent another attack forward that he blocked, locking them in that position. "Except with her... You ALWAYS considered her! You became energetic for her! You laughed for her! You rearranged your dolls seven times for her!" Kaori vanished and reappeared behind Ikuchi in an attempt to cut him down. He knew this trick and vanished, appearing below her feet and kicking her legs. "Yet you protect her so willingly..." Samira's voice came from Kaori's mouth before she vanished and appeared in the middle of the large room they were fighting in. "Master, you love her... Of course I would protect something you're so infatuated with." he said in a soft tone, trying to remind Kaori of who she is... but only struck a nerve.

"You're the one she loves..." Kaori said in her standard voice. "She would never love a woman, and she ALWAYS lets you HOLD HER!" Kaori shouted before erupting forward with two black shirofune and beginning a series of slashes. Ikuchi materialized a second katana and began blocking them all. "You're mind is clouded master! You know not the logic for which you draw such conclusions!" he countered between blocks.

Suddenly, as though with the best of timing, Mammoth flew through a wall and slammed into Kaori. He did his best to catch her and barely managed the feat, only to be cut across the stomach by the panicking girl. Aquarius stepped through the hole in the wall and locked eyes with Samira, immediately charging towards her. Charlotte had appeared between Aquarius and Samira, her eyes no longer sweet and her movements no longer hesitant. Her eyes were cold, and she was quick to kick Aquarius in the head with a spinning kick. "You hit my little brother..." she said, her voice soft but no longer her old self. "That woman-" "I don't care." she interrupted, an action she never did before. Aquarius realized he wasn't getting to Sammy without going through Charlotte, though not for any particularly noble reason. "Char, it's fine! I'm not-" the sight of Charlotte drawing her cutlass and beginning to fight Aquarius interrupted his pleas for her to not get involved. Aquarius was being pushed back by Charlotte, a spirit not only belonging to a Silver key, but also the weakest of Kaori's spirit in terms of magic power. He was gritting his teeth the whole time, each attack just as ferocious and powerful as Kaori's... at times it felt like they were even greater than her's. He sent out a blade of water, sending Charlotte back across the field. When the blade cleared, it revealed not a single scratch to be on the small girl. "You think you can get past me... you're twenty trillion years too young!" she shouted, charging across the field while letting it be known exactly how old she was... she was quite literally there from the beginning. She came at Aquarius with incredible speed, and each and every hit made the zodiac spirit move backwards and be unable to use another attack. A break was found in her form and Aquarius kicked her in the stomach, trying not to cause too much harm. A ring of water formed around him and just as it was about to go forward, Mammoth came out and hit him directly in the chest with an ethereal hammer that released a shockwave powerful enough to destroy the water. Aquarius bounced off the wall of the castle and hit the floor, just as he began getting up, Charlotte came from over top him and punched him in the back of the skull- ending the fight. Her eyes changed back and she ran to Mammoth, holding onto his arm (which was as big as she was in width) and asked "A-are you okay!?" with a genuinely concerned voice. "No, because now we need to help with that." he replied while pointing to the other two combatants.

Kaori had begun taking on a dark aura, her shirofune being replaced by a katana... black particles began rising from the ground. Ikuchi grit his teeth, knowing fully what attack was about to be used. He dismissed his swords and formed a white katana of his own. "In the end I'll be abandoned, no one loves me, no one trusts me, they'll leave me, they'll try to kill me-" the rapid mumbling came out of Kaori as her heart fell further into darkness, her eyes beginning to become more consumed by the blackness encroaching on it. White particles and black ones began rising slowly, both ninja holding their katana high as the energy began intensifying. The dark energy was filled with sorry, pain, anguish, hopelessness, despair, and many other terrible emotions forced into Kaori by the false Samira. The white energy was filled with the compassion that Samira brought out of Kaori, the love she made the ninja feel for her, the hope that was instilled that she could find happiness. Samira would understand why Kaori let her guard down around her, as well as why she received so much special treatment if she didn't understand before... Because Kaori had fallen for her kindness, her concern, her loyalty, and her smile. "I won't let anyone else hurt me!" Kaori shouted, to which Ikuchi replied "I won't let you abandon your heart!"

Kaori slashed downward, sending a massive wave of darkness outward. Ikuchi slashed horizontally sending forth his light in the same kind of attack. The two forces clashed, immediately swirling into an orb before exploding violently and sending everyone outward. Ikuchi had formed his barrier in front him and Samira, reducing the damage he'd take exponentially. When his shield dropped, a black sword was in his stomach and Kaori was wielding it. Her entire right eye was black, not a single drop of the normal hazel color to be found... Ikuchi's jaw was agape as a tear ran from under his mask, down his face. He'd never expected to die by his master's blade... but he had raised his sword to her, so it seemed fitting. She tore it out and kicked him aside brutally. Then her gaze turned to Samira, revealing her other eye still had half of the hazel color it normally had.

Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private Empty Re: Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private

Post by Samira Nassar 18th September 2017, 8:59 am

At the feeling of being pulled from her attempted escape, Samira gave a high pitched yelp before finding herself thrown out of a nearby window. Shards of glass cut through her clothing and skin and as she descended from the fourth floor an explosion came from the room she had been in previously. She had caught a glimpse of Ikuchi coming from it just before he vanished and reappeared in time to catch her before she hit the ground.

'Not really what I had in mind...' Susano would have to give him some credit for actually keeping some sense of sanity and actually caught the girl before she made impact upon the ground. Not like they would of allowed it to end in such a way anyway, but still, a tiny bit of credit.

There was no time to even regain her breath as Kaori came from the room up above towards her, the end result of barely being blocked by her own servant and pushed back. She stood still with her hand over her heart as she watched the scene unfold in front of her. Tears began to form and trickle down her cheeks as she listened to the conversation. Kaori had really thought those closest to her had betrayed her. She was one thing since she had no real attachments other than being a friend. Friendships often came to an end, even the closest of ones. However, for her to think Ikuchi would do such a thing or even her spirits was unbelievable. Kaori really was losing to the darkness that had taken root inside her is she came to such conclusions. Even though her body was right there her soul was getting farther away, sinking and being swallowed by the darkness Samira had created.

Then came the words she had been afraid of hearing ever since his personality changed when dealing with her. Her breath paused when she heard them, as a greater stab had been made towards her than the time at the shrines. Before he had just been attacking her pride, but now it was her heart that had become a target, however unintentional. "Des...pise?" Deep down she had expected it, but at the same time she couldn't believe it. It was too hard to hear that final truth. More tears fell as the world around her disappeared. She grabbed onto the sides of her head hard and fell to her knees. A voice played in her head as it seemed time slowed down. Not the familiar and kind voice of one of her spirits, but rather Ikuchi's. Several statements played like a mixed tape, going from their first meeting to that very place in time.

"Greetings Lady Nassar. My master did not tell me she would be inviting nobility..." "Master, I know what weapon I desire..." "Nonsense. Her beauty and adorableness would level any army who dares..." "I- I.. also... healed you... a bit..." "A fine woman with a strong heart, and a powerful hand- as well as a very beautiful face..." "But she'd make an invaluable member for our crew! Not only does she look comfortable to snuggle, she's intelligent enough to.." "Had I believed you were the one spouting those vile words, I would have killed you..." "She's nothing more than a human, and a stupid one at that..." "She's an abysmal wizard even compared to lady Lareci..." "I despise that woman!" "Despise that woman!" "Despise!" "Despise!" "Despise!" "Despise!"

The voice that seemed to get stuck on the word like an old record was forcibly blown away from Samira's mental space thanks to Susano, who had grown quite annoyed with hearing it. 'What the actual hell?! That's suffocating! Is that really what happens while we are shut out?'

'He...hates me. Always has. I do not understand.'

If Susano could have been seen rather than just being a voice she would of seen him rolling his eyes. Instead all she heard was a sigh. 'I do not know if he always hated you, but right now you will have to accept it for what it is. He mocked you for your pride, but I sense the demon of envy within him, and I do not think he realizes this. If he does his bloodline would not allow him to care. He is going to hate whatever and whoever gains more attention and affection than himself. You have gained a type of love from his master he has not.'

    'Love?'

'One that is higher in scale than that of friendship. Consider the beast's words. His master has changed her ways for you, became more human for you. She has allowed herself to have a weakness even with the many battles that come in her future. Did you not see how she nearly died against one of the phoenixes because she let her guard down even for a false version of you? Or did your petty anger at the time blind you completely? She has protected and watched over you, put off her duty as a clan leader momentarily just for you, and had trusted you enough to be not only in the same room as herself but the same bed. I can hear now how she thinks you would never love her. I cannot speak on the romantic end but I do know you take your friendship with her seriously. There is a love there that she needs to see. Are you really going to sit there and get depressed over some stupid beast you barely even know?! Who deserves your attention more?! The woman that has become a dear friend and has shown her true face to you when so few will ever see a glimpse of it, or the animal that does not know anything about what it means to be human?!"

    'Kaori...'

'He had even said she is more of a monster than he is except when she is with you, as if you were a poison that is corroding the side of her he wishes for her to keep. Is that what you want?! To allow him to influence her now with such words?! For her to always be a monster?! She is no such thing! Monsters do not, and will never, have such light. She is a human that has gone through hell but still finds a way to keep her heart. It had been protected by the demonic wall she surrounded it with, but you had broken that wall. Only you can break it again! Do not allow her heart to be sealed forever!'

    'But...I...'

The world that had surrounded her came back into focus as her mind came back to reality. The feeling from the white particles and energy had brought her out of her case of mental instability. She felt the love and hope that came from it, and with it she understood Kaori's feelings for her. Samira braced herself for the collision of the two energy attacks and with the force everyone was sent back. She had been saved due to a barrier Ikuchi had formed around her and himself, but when it came down her eyes widened slightly as she watched the insane Kaori stab him and then proceeded to kick him aside as if he were garbage. "Ikuchi..." she muttered as she looked at him as he landed. Her eyes then closed and reopened in narrowed form as she turned her focus on Kaori. Susano had been right. Kaori was the important one and should be the focus. She needed to be saved. The summoner stood up, ready to face what remained of her friend.

"I am sorry, Kaori, for everything." Samira said with some pain in her voice after she noticed the hazel color of one of her eyes still remained. Her friend was not completely lost. She grabbed two keys as she spoke and prepared to call forth the spirits they were linked to. "I do not want to fight you, but I will do what is required of me..." The hand that held two keys raised above her. "So I can save you!" The hand with the keys then slashed down, opening two portals that connected to the celestial realm. "Open gates of Destruction and Winter! Kali! Skadi!" One spirit was one that distrusted Kaori a great deal, but she was one of the more mobile and experienced ones when it came to melee combat. The other Samira knew placed a lot of trust with Kaori and also had a desire to save her. She knew the winter spirit would go all out in order to make it happen.

"You will need these, foolish girl," Kali told Samira almost venomously as she tossed the Chakrams and dagger at her. Along the way they had gotten misplaced and ported back to the celestial world due to them having been crafted there. Kali prepared herself while wielding her typical two scimitar and trident, held by three of her hands while the fourth remained free. Skadi held onto a spear coated in ice and along her hip the sheath of a sword was attached with the weapon still inside. Samira now held a chakram within each hand with her star dagger placed on the other hip that did not have her keychain. Due to the unpredictable nature Kaori had originally, and sure as hell had now, the spirits remained near their summoner, and all waited for her to make the first move.

Mammoth and Charlotte quickly moved to stand next to Skadi and Kali, knowing that neither spirit would be able to truly stop Kaori. Neither of them personally thought they stood much of a chance either. "You realize we'll be getting punished for this... right?" Mammoth said to Charlotte. "We failed to protect her, so we can at least stop her or go down trying." Charlotte said, not knowing that her cutlass was shaking. As Kaori took a step forward, Mammoth moved and hit her square in the everything with his fist to send her flying back. Charlotte switched in, her speed was better than her brother's and her strength was somewhere around Kaori's even if her aforementioned speed wasn't. When Kaori vanished, Charlotte knew to use her sword to block her back. It wasn't some form of clairvoyance, or amazing instinct; she knew Kaori's attack pattern. Charlotte turned around and began blocking strike after strike, then Mammoth got close enough to grab Kaori's leg and slam her on the ground.

Mammoth began repeatedly punching the spot she landed in saying "I'm sorry." with each attack. After five or six punches he put both his hands together and slammed the combined fist into the same spot. Six black swords appeared in his back, each with a Kaori attached to it. Charlotte had a sword in her stomach, one in her heart, and one in shoulder. Normally, such things wouldn't even scratch her, but she wasn't expecting that her wizard would be so far gone that she'd turn on her... she wasn't even expecting Kaori go be 'gone' at all. Both spirits erupted into particles and returned to the Celestial Spirit world to recover. The tenth Kaori had vanished due to getting hit multiple times by Mammoth, but that only left nine to deal with...

One Kaori formed two black shirofune and began running towards Kali. She jumped up, spinning in the air and combined the two blades to form a larger one. Coming down, the sword lit on fire, black fire to reflect Kaori's instability. Kali would find that two swords wasn't enough to stop this one, and three swords would only slow the attack down. The only way to stop Kaori's pain would be to use all of her weapons. However, Kali would then notice the sword going through her weapons like a ghost through a wall. The blade would ignore any attempt at blocking, and cleave her straight down the middle if she attempted to block. If Kali would run, she would be being chased by a very tenacious Kaori.

If at any point, Sakdi tried to help her, the ice spirit would find a naginata stopping her advance and on the other end of it was another Kaori. Four of the other Kaori's had suddenly erupted into smoke as a large, flaming bird had barrled through them. The stain glass window on one end of the room was shattered, and the one on the exact opposite end had met the same fate. The bird wasn't much for fighting, but it know how to time a tackle. While Samira's spirits dealt with their own Kaori's, the one that the lava hawk didn't hit had appeared next to Samira with a black shirofune ready to come down on her. If she dodged the downward attack, the blade hitting the ground would shatter the floor and demonstrate just how little this crazed version of Kaori was holding back.

    Celestial World

Covered in bandages like a mummy, Jedinah sat while resting his arms on hes legs and staring at the floor. "You thought you could hold her back, huh?" he said with a defeated, demoralized, and disheartened tone to Scarlet. Her pirate's cap hanging on the wall as she laid down on a bed that was nothing more than a stone block connected to the building wall with a soft rug and pillow on it. Scarlet had bandages over her torso, legs, and arms from the battle with Kaori. "Didn't know she was hurt that bad... didn't know she was that far gone that we couldn't get through to her..." Scarlet replied in an equally dismal tone. Aquarius was in the room holding an ice pack to his head, by far the luckiest of the five. "I'll kill that-" "Shut it before I beat you down next. You don't know the story." Scarlet replied, still ballsy as ever even in her current state- though, her lungs did hurt from being so forceful. "Care to enlighten me?" Aquarius asked.

"Started out like any other day, someone had a request and Kaori was doing it. Sam wanted an escort to see a phoenix, and after seeing one Kaori wanted to see them all. The second one wasn't so bad, just another ass beating delivered and it was over. The third one... that one was what did this. Kaori let her guard down." Scarlet explained, making Aquarius sigh from disappointment. "So, Sammy didn't stab her?" he asked to get clarification. "Not the real one, some cloned version." The reply made Aquarius feel like the village fool. "We only got two of us remaining..." Aquarius stated, trying to think of a plan. Suddenly, Mammoth appeared with a bleeding back. "One of us remaining." Jediniah corrected Aquarius just before Charlotte appeared on a nearby bed. "Nevermind..." he said promptly. "Looks like we gotta rely on Sam and her spirits." Scarlet said, though, not expecting too much on account of the girl being a bit... under prepared. "We're dead." Jediniah said, for once not trying to make a pun.

Aquarius stood up and began walking out of the room, saying "I'm goin' for a walk." while doing so. He knew that Samira couldn't have made contracts with all of her spirits the way Kaori did. When Kaori made her contracts, she only had five spirits and everyone contracted to her at the same time. Most Celestial Wizards formed their contracts over time since they would come to know significantly more spirits. Even Samira who was arguably weaker had more than three times the spirits Kaori had. Weaker maybe, but less useful or with less potential- not at all. His first stop was to a massive building where records were kept. He had spotted Jing Wei and approached saying "Make a scene and all hell breaks loose." to start their conversation. A zodiac spirit was one thing, but Aquarius was one of the strongest on account of having more spells than others. That, and being able to turn the building into a swimming pool wasn't exactly considered 'weak' either. "Does the girl have any light spirits?" he would ask, his voice implying he had no intentions of letting her lie. Once he'd found out about it, he would say "Thanks." and leave.

Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private Empty Re: Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private

Post by Samira Nassar 18th September 2017, 6:45 pm

"This be great battle worthy of honor," Skadi commented as the two other spirits took their place beside them. It was a fight to save someone dear to her summoner, and it would be a battle where they all had to work together to do it. Trails of ice and snow leaked behind her as she got ready to move and the winter wind that came from her body had the sound of howling wolves.

Kali remained silent at first, distrusting even of the spirits that had come to their aid and finding Skadi's words to be annoying. Honor was not something she cared about. Sating her bloodlust and growing combat rage was all she cared about aside from Samira's protection. That foolish girl of a summoner. She was making her soft. As much as she wanted to fight and beat that ninja woman down she would not be able to bring herself to end it in head cutting fashion.

The battle began as the larger spirit and more cutesy one took charge and attacked their own summoner. Kali charged forward as one of the clones came in her direction. The clone had jumped up and naturally the spirit raised her gaze to keep up with the target. Her two scimitars were raised above her with the obvious first reaction of blocking, but then she saw it turn into one larger weapon covered in black flame which caused her to second guess her original course of action. She jumped back, allowing the attack to hit nothing but air. The clone quickly recovered and came for her again to which she responded by lashing forward with her scimitars in an X shape in an attempt to block any incoming attacks while her trident would be positioned above her to take a downward stab if/when the two beings collided. If it worked the way she planned it and had the clone momentarily pinned then her free arm would be used to grab it and toss it away from her.

Skadi had prepared to go into the battle to aid Kali but she found one clone that had already picked her as an opponent. "I had gift picked out. I will fight you so I can give. Would be waste otherwise." The wolves that were heard within the chilly air her body gave off then appeared from the snow and ice particles that flowed in the air surrounding her form. Three of them there were and very mist like as if they had no solid form. Skadi held her ice spear vertically and then tapped the bottom end of it on the ground. A large and cold blast of ice and snow erupted as the wolves took full form and leapt from their spot behind their master to attack the Kaori clone. All three would have jumped one at a time, aiming to take a bite out of the clone before disappearing or destroyed. Regardless of the status of the wolves Skadi would have leapt up into the air and raised her spear that would aim downward as she descended as a fourth attack.

Samira did not let herself be distracted by how the battle was going with the spirits of both sides. She tried to focus her mind and remain alert for any of the clones that came at her. The lava hawk then came, destroying four of them, probably it too having sensed what had been going on and that his master was not well. That left one, the one that went for her. She barely dodged it as it quickly came for her and she stumbled and tripped over herself as she did so. The blade the clone held shattered the ground as it made impact, surprising Samira that so much power was behind it. There was no holding back for the insane version of her friend. The comparison between their skills was obvious. Kaori, even unstable, had such force and skill, whereas the summoner couldn't even dodge properly. That fact would not stop her though. Samira swallowed and pushed back the fear that was coursing through her as she quickly got on her feet and started to run to get some form of distance. Close up combat Kaori had too much advantage. One of the chakrams was thrown in the clone's direction, locking on with its cheat-like ability that had been blessed upon it during its creation. It would not stop going for the clone unless parried or if it vanished from range. The other chakram Samira held tightly and prepared to use it to block and attack close up if the clone made it that far. The first chakram would return to her whether it made impact or not, allowing her to add it into her close up swings and parries.

    Celestial World:

Jing Wei was still doing her duties as a contract keeper regardless of what was going on in the mortal realm. The contracts of all summoners didn't just stop being a thing because her own was in trouble, after all! She could have been more worried considering, but she had faith in the rest of them to be used well before herself. They were all available for Samira to summon unlike before. She had been going through a massive pile of neatly piled scrolls when someone very unexpected approached. Her eyes nearly popped out of her skull and her jaw dropped. Iron Fist may not of been the original Aquarius but she knew who he was all the same. That was one of the perks of being a contract keeper. Her reaction would of been nearly identical to Serqet's, only more respectful and dignified considering she had a little more of a business approach and cared about her reputation, unlike the often carefree and silly venom spirit. She took the conversation starter seriously and smiled nervously. He was even more scary than Susano. "No scene then." Jing Wei replied while laughing nervously for fear the entire place would be under the ocean if she did. That was far too much paperwork to get back. "What brings you here? Zodiacs don't really tend to waste time here."

Jing Wei then frowned at the question. Samira did have light spirits listed for the future, but at that moment she didn't have any active contracts with one. "I am not really supposed to..." The tone of his voice scared her more and images of the building being lost forever appeared in her mind. All of that paperwork! Lost! The horror of having to redo them all was too much! "I...think I can make an exception," she said, laughing nervously once more. Her hand waved in the air and one of the scrolls that had been on the large pile lifted and floated to her. She opened it and allowed her eyes to read the names on it. "Lets see, death, no. War..nope. Time...definitely not. Sun, close but..." Jing Wei then stopped as the word sun seemed to click in her head. "Oh, you want Amaterasu. She's known as The Shining Light in our set. I think she's having a meeting right now with some of the others. You'll find her at some ancient shrine not far from here."

    Elsewhere in the Celestial World:

Once Iron Fist found the shrine he would notice a few figures standing in a circle with quite the distance between each other. The shrine was one Amaterasu often visited and blessed and as such the place was practically glowing in a radiant light. Any other spirit would likely find it hard to see, but due to his power as a zodiac Iron Fist likely would of been fine making his way through the light without much trouble. The area was pure, having no sense of darkness. The air even though still and quiet was filled with love and joy, a trait she had been known to pass onto others in the past.

"It is clear. She will not survive long enough," said one spirit, glowing with the power of the sun and in the form of a bird of flame. He was not in his true form as he desired not to be so when in those sorts of meetings.

"She is weak, but her heart is strong. Our lesser brethren can handle it. She will prevail this day. If not, then Isis was mistaken, which is outside the realm of reality," another spirit said, this time a woman donned in armor of greek origin and a pair of large angelic wings on her back. "Do not presume to make conclusions before the battle has reached its end. Have wisdom, my friend."

"The heart may be strong, but the light still remains to be seen. Her path has been set for her by us, but the obstacles she faces are of her own making. Survive she may, to die is another possibility. She is close, but not there. The bonds of love and friendship are being tested. She only need pass and our strength will be hers to wield as she wishes. My brother will know when the time is right." Amaterasu would then turn, sensing Iron Fist's approach if he did not make his appearance obvious. "Aquarius," she would say bluntly, his identity being rather obvious to her due to the powerful aura he had around him. She would not have the same reaction as those that acted as if he were a celebrity. He was a spirit like any other and protected his summoner no matter the circumstances. "What brings you to my realm? Have you finally calmed yourself? The celestial oceans have been moving furiously during your stay in the mortal realm." Amaterasu was the sister of Susano, and like him came from a Midi origin. She wore battle armor that radiated her natural light and even though she seemed calm and a pacifist she was known to purge the world of any darkness that would harm those that were weak in heart and spirit.

    Celestial World

Ascending the steps leading to where Amaterasu was supposed to be, Aquarius knew that Samira wasn't ready emotionally to take on Kaori. The kid had a lot of battle scars, and Samira had virtually none by comparison; or at least, that's what he thought. It didn't take much to see that Samira's inner light was weak in the face of adversity, even if her mind was strong enough to make her fight. He'd need something to make them perform the contract. Aquarius had taken her contract when he left the records building knowing that Jing Wei wouldn't dare try to stop him for fear of things getting a bit wet, or a lot wet depending on how you saw the angry spirit flooding the building as. From the top step leading to Amaterasu's shrine, the three spirits would see a massive wall of water. More water had risen from around the shrine, engulfing it in a sphere that spun rapidly, turning it into the perfect barrier as anything that touched it may as well beg to be sucked in and bashed around by the raging tide. Aquarius was among the strongest of spirits for many reasons... Even the previous one was respected as much as she was feared for this fact. Water was abundant, literally in the air, in the bodies of people and celestial spirits, in the land; even in the desert as there was life under the sands. It was impossible to fight an angry Aquarius and come out unscathed... A small openening would appear in the sphere of raging tides that allowed another sphere to enter that was surrounding Aquarius. If the spirits tried to attack, their attacks would be caught by the tides around Aquarius and shot back at them. If they tried a physical attack, they'd be hit by a water tentacle strong enough to send them into the walls of the barrier around Amaterasu's shrine.

The bird would then feel an entire waterfall crashing on top it, steaming from what little its fire could evaporate. The greek would feel the same pressure as Aquarius continued approaching Amaterasu, his eyes glowing brightly though his barrier. The sun spirit would find that the more he fought, the more water seemed to crash down on him. From outside the shrine, the spirits were watching with a degree of fear as the sphere around the shrine seemed to be getting larger even though the room in the middle was constant. Aquarius had stopped several yards from Amaterasu and dropped the contract, sending a small wave of water to carry it to the woman. "You have thirty earthland seconds before I turn that castle into the next Atlantis." he said before vanishing completely, the raging tide bubble around the shine had dropped, showering the three spirits in what one could equate to a lake. If Amaterasu spent any time in the shrine to check on her comrades, she'd hear Aquarius's voice saying "Twenty nine... twenty eight... twenty seven..." and continuing to count down until she too did what needed to be done and made the contract. While the castle itself sinking wasn't so bad, there was over a thousand people inside it not counting Samira herself. Samira wouldn't know she had thirty seconds to evacuate since Aquarius had no intention of warning anyone he was about to deep-six the place, she'd have however long it took to sink the place.

    Lamia Scale Guild Hall

As the chakram closed in on Kaori, a black wall would appear in its direction. What once was Kaori's infamous white barrier had been turned into a wall of darkness, greater in strength than her original barrier. The chakram would ricochet off it and Kaori would vanish, reappearing in front Samira with her knee in the summoner's stomach. Another vanish would place her heel in the woman's collar bone. "Everyone... hates me. They'll abandon me, they'll leave me, they'll come to kill me... kill me... come to... kill me..." she would be saying while attacking Samira with martial arts. Once Samira would manage to get some distance again, she'd see Kaori with a bow- a weapon she didn't often use, but she was still deadly with it. The arrow would be coated in darkness that seemed to be growing. "Abandon me..." she would say before her eyes would turn hateful, transitioning to the next phase "I'LL KILL THEM FIRST!" she shouted as the final black tear went airborne and the arrow erupted forward. The arrow created a spiral of energy behind it as it flew through the air, tearing the ground before finding its way to whatever was in its line of sight.

When Skadi's wolf came in, Kaori saw Skadi going for the fourth attack and gave a gentle smirk while taking the hits. She would then grab Skadi's hand with a godly grip as she held onto it, forcing herself to stay materialized. "Owari desu." she would say with a venomous tongue. Another Kaori would appear behind Skadi and ram a black sword through her and say "Shii-nee" to make it explode and take all three of them out. Over on Kali's end, Kaori had been thrown only to split off into nine more version that all vanished. One appeared near Kali but immediately vanished, another two performing the same actions. Unless Kali would be able to take ten Kaori's at once while they appeared just long enough to get a hit in, the goddess would find herself being cut many times with not enough time to hit them before they vanished again. The shadow Kaori's weren't seeming to target a specific spot, but rather choose at random which would make it difficult to predict their actions. If all was going correctly for Kaori, Kali would be too overwhelmed by all of them to notice the clone that appeared behind her and rammed a sword through her lung. The next clone after that would plant one in her stomach. That is, if she was unable to stop them from doing so...

    "Time Barrier"

The sound of Ikuchi's voice was heard, and the room turned violet as his spell took effect. The fight between Kali, Skadi, and their clone enemies would continue and feel no slower to them. The only one aware of the time dilation was Ikuchi who used a few seconds to heal his wound. In that time however, another time barrier was used by Kaori's dark form that made it so she was unaffected. Ikuchi got up and reformed his katana, rushing in and moving past the arrow that was now being slowed down. Samira would see Ikuchi and Kaori going at it again, except at a much faster pace (94% faster). This would provide an excellent distraction for Samira to do whatever needed to be done.

Aquarius was at the top of the castle with his barrier around him looking down at the waters below. He raised his hand and they began spinning around the base of the castle. One of the design flaws was that the castle was built on an island, and connected to the port town of Hargeon by only a couple bridges. A wave had risen and ensured that those bridges were no longer a concern, as a segment far too large to jump over was cut from both and the seas began spinning even more violently around the building. Iron Fist was many things, but a liar was not one of them. He didn't make idle threats, he made promises and just like now, he always came through with them. He would sooner his wizard die at his hands, than let her kill the people she loved. If that meant he'd be punished, then he didn't care about it- he was already dead. Within a matter of moments, regardless of how much time was left, a wall of water had been formed around the entire structure and was preparing to pull it below. All that remained was Amaterasu to make the contract, or the castle to be crushed.

Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private Empty Re: Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private

Post by Samira Nassar 19th September 2017, 8:36 am

    Back In The Celestial World:

The three spirits made no attacks as Aquarius came in with his massive amount of water. He would of been welcomed to talk peacefully if his take action personality was not so strong as to lead him to the action of bringing a lake all the way to the shrine. The sun spirit in bird form was hit by a waterfall, creating a large amount of steam before the spirit had enough and completely disappeared, deciding to leave the shrine until the chaotic zodiac spirit left. The greek angel spirit was left with no choice but to remain in the waterfall made just for her, preventing her movement.

Amaterasu just stared at Aquarius with a blank expression. The contract floated over to her to which she put her hand over it and allowed it to raise from the ground and into her hand. She heard the demand, and as the zodiac spirit disappeared the water from the bubble that surrounded the shrine released over the two spirits that remained. "So, that's a no then," she said, almost amused by what transpired as she moved her wet locks from her face.

The sun spirit re-appeared, this time in his true form of a mix of man and hawk. "He disgraces his position."

"His actions are far too rash. He could have come without the glorified entrance and exit." The greek spirit said as she stood up and flapped her wings to rid them of the water that still remained on them.

Amaterasu could hear the countdown, which only amused her further. "Chronos."

As his name was spoken a blue skinned spirit that seemed to also be made as if he were some sort of clock mechanism materialized. "Yes, Amaterasu?"

The light spirit could hear the countdown get near its end but no amount of worry showed on her face. "Samira's key for you is in that very hall. You should be able to go there regardless of your key not having a contract. Take Poseidon and He Bo with you. You know what to do." She then turned to her other two spirit companions. "It would seem our recent guest wants me to break tradition and make a contract. What is your vote?"

"The pride and strength of her ancestors runs strong in her blood. I will allow her to pass her test."

"She has already shown wisdom by learning from her mistakes, and has shown courage by facing her fears and now even her friend. She has passed mine. Your vote is all that remains. Our contracts will be signed with yours."

    Back In The Real World:

Skadi's eyes narrowed slightly as the Kaori clone grabbed onto her with such strength. She was not a physically weak spirit and yet the mortal woman nearly surpassed her own. If allowed to grow stronger she truly would of had the strength of a god. She had just begun to make a counter attack when she felt the sharpness of a blade run through her body. "Such power..." Then the explosion happened, taking the two clones and Skadi with it as she disappeared into several snowy particles.

Kali hissed as the clone she had thrown split into even more Kaoris. The girl was spreading like a cluster of roaches. Still, while annoyed, the spirit took no issue with it. Multiple targets was something she was good against. Her inner power activated and through it her attack speed greatly increased. Even though she was completely surrounded she was able to parry and cut through the clones with speed and weapons. Some of the strikes against her met their mark due to them being just as quick as her, but her number of opponents was decreasing. The clone that came for her lung was hit with a swing of her blade, but as she turned to strike the one that came for her stomach she found she was a split second too slow to counter the attack. The clone's weapon had run through her stomach just as her blade came to a stop along its neck. The demonic looking spirit smirked, seeming almost pleased with the result even though it was her lost. "Nice hit," she began to say with a tone of respect. Then it quickly twisted back into her normal pissed off self. "But I am taking you with me!" Her free arm grabbed onto the clone's hand that was attached to the weapon within her stomach and pulled it in, making a stab with all three of her weapons before disappearing to the celestial realm to recover.

Short cries of pain came from Samira as she was first hit in her stomach and then once again in her collar bone. Her weapons dropped as the attacks knocked her off balance and was then hit with even more martial art type of attacks. "That is...not..true," she managed to get out in pieces between her cries of pain from each hit. Eventually she managed to stop one of the hits by grabbing onto Kaori's arm with both of her hands. "No one hates you! We are all trying to save you even now! I know some part of the real you is still in there so stop and listen!" Her words seemed to have no effect as Kaori just effortlessly made another hit against the summoner that had latched onto her. Samira was hit once again with enough force that made some distance between the two. Now her whole body throbbing with great physical pain, Samira watched as Kaori aimed a bow in her direction, equipped with an arrow of growing darkness. "STOP!" And then as the arrow was released at her, and Ikuchi had made his own moves and got back into the fight, time came to a stop.

Amaterasu materialized at the top of the castle where Aquarius was, but kept some distance between herself and him. He had a very reckless nature and was quite unpredictable, so showing up there rather than do as he had told her to do likely would not have sat well with him. Aquarius would see that time all around had come to a complete stop, even his waters as Poseidon and He Bo worked to keep them at bay. The zodiac spirit was powerful, yes, but even his power could not last against the teamwork of a time spirit and two water spirits. She likely would be getting in trouble for making such a move, but not anymore so than the zodiac himself. "I did not come here to fight you," Amaterasu said bluntly just to get it out of the way. "Tell me, Aquarius," she begun to start her sentence as the contract scroll was lifted before her form in display. "Why should I listen to your request?" Yes, he had heard right. Amaterasu took his grand entrance, exit, as well as threat as nothing more than a request rather than a demand and promise to do what he would if it was not met. "Any spirit that fell in fright of your display of power would be too weak of heart to save your summoner. Is that really what you wanted?"

Amaterasu kept her gaze on him and if he had tried to attack at any time she would simply vanish and reappear elsewhere, much like the ways of the ninja clans of Midi. The funny thing about the situation is that if he had been more polite to begin with she probably would of aided in the situation without all the trouble. Now instead of looking for a reason to make an early contract that satisfied her, she was looking for some form of a please. She needed to see that he believed his summoner was worth saving besides throwing tantrums and using his power for gain. Through all the spirits of the celestial realm, the ones of light were the more stubborn and persistent. If they allowed themselves to concede over a simple threat and demand then there would only be darkness for no light spirit would ever claim victory. Amaterasu had no fear for him nor his power.

Aquarius watched as his waters stopped rising and the light spirit appeared inquiring as to why she should help. The zodiac spirit exhaled some air and put on a small smile. He didn't like doing this anymore than the others would, but he had a reason for it. "Your summoner will die in the building along with mine, and I'll hardly be punished." he said calmly, and then summoned his contract scroll. "It's the only contract of its kind as far as I know, and it actually suits her style." Aquarius said before unrolling it and holding the parchment to Amaterasu's eye sight so she could see for herself. "Last paragraph."

'Should the summoner, Kaori Lareci, attempt harm on her spirits or force them into a situation in which they must harm her; the zodiac spirit Aquarius is to enact judgement on the summoner Kaori Lareci. This judgement is to be enacted solemnly without hesitance, and without concern for collateral damages. The judgement is predetermined by this binding contract, and is documented as a death penalty. Should any lives be lost in the process of enacting judgement on the summoner, all will be converted to a Celestial Key for contracting with other, more worthy wizards. The zodiac spirit hereby accepts all damages caused by the spirits under him as his responsibility, as they do not have the contractual obligation to intervene in the termination of their wizard, Kaori Lareci.'

Under the paragraph would be seven signatures, one for each spirit, one for Kaori, and in large letters at the bottom, the Celestial Spirit King's. The summary of the contract was that Aquarius was doing nothing wrong, and that by killing everyone in the castle, all he'd have to do was handle the paperwork for making them celestial spirits. "Did you know that my wizard has two nicknames? Most know she's called the Demon of Wrath, but something I didn't know until recently was that she's also called the Goddess of Passion. You see... when she was born she was given quite a bit of power." Aquarius held his hand up as though he were going to snap his fingers while letting the contract vanish. Amaterasu would notice a golden aura around him, signifying an increase in power as he broke free of the time stop. "That same power is the reason she only needs five of us.... Zero." he said before snapping, causing the tides to begin rising around the castle at an alarming rate. "However... if Kaori were to somehow be stopped, I might be able to let this slide." Aquarius said in a calm voice, watching the waters continue to rise below with apathetic eyes. Even if Amaterasu could get to Samira, she would barely have enough time to do the contract now that she'd gone and force Aquarius's hand. He wasn't being rash, nor was he being reckless; he was fulfilling his contract. There wasn't any way to leave the castle conventionally with the bridge broken and the building surrounded by water, and if they did leave, it meant Samira would need to start from scratch... no friends, clothes, or books in the human world for her to find peace in. Amaterasu would need to weigh her options... She could try to talk down Aquarius, who already had decided his actions. She could help Samira escape, which would be easy with Janus but would leave her with nothing but her spirits and a shattered heart. She could make the contract, or, she could do nothing at all.... decisions, decisions...

Most people who knew Kaori would remember she was powerful, but none knew why. When Kaori was born, she was given a series of blessings... Luck, Accuracy, Durability, Power, and her Psychic powers. They were given to her by a real goddess, not an incarnation of one, which made them even harder to ignore. It's the same reason she had a hard life, and was continuing to have one. This blessing was also the reason that when Aquarius became Aquarius, he was designated to contract with her and the Celestial Spirit King had drawn the contract himself. The king didn't want to do it, but he needed to make sure that Kaori's power didn't run amok... so Aquarius was contracted to keep her in check.

Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private Empty Re: Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private

Post by Samira Nassar 19th September 2017, 3:46 pm

Amaterau listened to Aquarius's words as well as read the last paragraph of his contract with a blank expression. The contracts contends were harsh and definite, and as a spirit he was obligated to act on it without regard to how he felt. Most spirits would of declined such conditions and the fact he was still fulfilling it proved his resolve. There would be no talking him down from his course of action. He would rather see his summoner and others die than break his contract with her. The power increase, his final words, and even going so far as to find her within the celestial realm and practically order her to make an early contract in the hopes Samira could restore Kaori told her all that she needed to know. He wanted Kaori stopped, he was out of all other options besides the last resort. "So shall it be." Amaterasu then vanished from the top of the castle with only her voice remaining. "Fear not, Aquarius, I will not allow you to kill her this day."

The waters now could only be stopped completely by Aquarius himself, she knew that. Her time now was little and so she had ordered Chronos to increase the rate of time around herself while also keeping the combatants below in their stopped state. She needed time to make Samira face her test regardless of the intentions of Aquarius. What he seemed to not understand was that not just anyone could handle her power. If their heart contained darkness her light would eat them away inside and as such would not be able to wield the power that comes from using her. Samira still had that darkness and had yet to truly confront it. She would be killing her summoner the very moment she was summoned, meaning both lives would of been lost to more than just the rising tides. It was a tragedy she did not want.

The time stop surrounding Samira stopped, having been freed from it on purpose so that what was to soon transpire could take place. She blinked her eyes in a confused manner as she noticed no one or anything was moving, including the arrow. 'Sister...' She heard Susano comment within her mind as he felt her presence. It was the last thing she heard from him before his aura disappeared from her mental state and the world around her became dark, leaving her to stand alone in a pit of blackness. "Susano?" Samira took a few steps back, unsure of what was going on or even what to do. Her mind wasn't being blocked by her so he should of still been there, but she felt no trace of him.

A cloned version of her then appeared several feet in front of her, its body having a cloak of darkness around it. "Do not lie to yourself. You wanted this to happen. Kaori should pay for not being able to tell the difference between you and the trick of that phoenix. Just desserts. Summon Janus and leave. You have that option. Your life is more important than theirs."

Samira narrowed her eyes at the clone of herself as she heard the words. "That is not true! I never wanted this! And I am not leaving here until I can save Kaori."

"But you cannot. You are too weak. Just look how she treated you as a rag doll, used your spirits and even her allies as targets for her weapons, and even right now demands you die by her hand. That love spoken about before does not really exist. You are a monster just as she is and monsters cannot be loved."

"No...I am not weak...I am not a monster."

The clone then approached and placed a hand on Samira's cheek and stared at her eyes. "But you are." The clone's other hand then jammed its way harshly through her chest and into her heart, which caused a smoke of darkness to leak from it. "You see? There is no light there."

Samira's eyes widened as she felt the pain from the action as well as saw what her heart contained. The clone removed its hand from her chest to then place both hands onto the sides of Samira's head, causing voices to play that would lead to another mental breakdown. The summoner shoved the clone away before kneeling down onto her knees and clutching the sides of her head. The torment of the shadow phoenix, Ikuchi's harsh words at the shrines as well as the ones spoken at the guild hall, Iron Fist blaming her for what happened to Kaori, the words her clone had spoken towards Kaori, even the conversation she had with the man that had gotten trapped in the Ancient Ruins with her course of action allowing him to die slowly, all of it played and eventually became a swarm of repeated loops that drowned one another. Her head felt as if it were about to explode. "H-help. Spirits." None had come to remove the voices. They had abandoned her and she was alone to face the torment. The voices began to be too much and she snapped. "STOOOOOPPPPP!"

A silence then fell and the clone version of herself disappeared. A feeling of kindness and love then washed over her and a more soothing voice began to speak, one she had become accustomed to hearing during her adventures thus far. "Rest, Sammy. We won't let anything harm you." It was a voice clip from back when Kaori had allowed her to rest against her during the ride to the phoenix Soulsmoke shrine. She had remembered the feelings that were passed onto her that time, the feeling of being safe and the trust that came with it. Then more voice clips played since the time they had met to the current timeline.

"A lack of experience isn't equal to a lack of ability, and it certainly doesn't mean you're useless..." "And... I've never had a sleep over, so I wanted to try one and you were the first person to come to mind..." "Mister Fluffles is my most loyal clansman! He was with me when I was just two years old..." "Oyasumi, Sammy..." "Sammy!" "You're lucky I like you, I normally charge for favors..." "It's so soft, and cute, and OOOOHHH IT'S STILL A BABY!" "See? It looks cute, and now your hair won't get messy from riding!" "Sammy..." The happy giggles she had heard before also played and it caused Samira to tear up when she recalled how twisted Kaori had become. There would be no more of that, she was gone.

"I know you're not the strongest fighter but believe in the power of your heart and your body will inherit that power." The advice that was given to her during their first mission played and it had been something she never paid much attention to back then. The power of one's heart did not make sense to her at the time or even before all the chaos of current events started. Now she understood part of how Kaori's power worked. Her friend fought for those around her, protecting them even if she herself suffered. There was always love and passion in her power that she could feel time and time again with each battle she had witnessed. Her light was so strong underneath it all, and it sickened Samira to think people ever called her a monster. She had to somehow tap into that same power in order to save her friend.

A cloned version of Kaori materialized before her, unmasked and glowing with a radiant light. She smiled and then knelt down with her arm outstretched, allowing Samira to grab onto her hand to be pulled up. "Believe in the power of your heart and your body will inherit that power." The advice from before played again. Samira lowered her hands from her head and silently stared at the clone. She knew it was not real, but her heart surged with the desire for it to be so. Samira had wanted her friend to return to the way she was, and not remain as the lost soulless monster she was now. The clone blinked at the hesitation and frowned, but the smile returned as she tilted her head and giggled, waving her outstretched arm insistently for Samira to grab hold. Slowly the summoner raised her own hand and clasped onto the one offered to her. A white light pulsed from the touch and soon the world of darkness had exploded into a wondrous light that took over the entirety of the endless void. The darkness of her own heart had been purged as she now trusted the power it was capable of and the light that had been locked away inside from distrust, fear, and pride. "You have passed."

The time stop came to an end, allowing all combatants to move once more. They would however be interrupted as a large surge of light erupted from Samira and spread through the area in a bright radiance that could of blinded any normal person looking at it. Any clones that remained would have vanished, as the light would turn them to dust due to the darkness they were made from. The arrow would also be destroyed, and it was possible the real Kaori and Ikuchi would feel the force behind the explosion, dropping their time barriers if they were caught off guard.

When the eruption of light came to an end and the scenery became normal once more, there stood a full healed Samira but different. She glowed with a soft white light and even her clothes had changed to a type of red and white kimono that would of been commonly found in Midi. Amaterasu was not present fully but her form would shimmer into existence every moment or so. It was Samira's battle, not her own, and she had no place to fight it for her. What she had done was allowed Samira to make use of her power on her own. The summoner had the power required to use any of her spirits' power for herself, but due to her locked away heart and mind she was never able to use it fully. Now, with the barrier lifted, she could.

In her hands was a sword that also shone with light and purity. It was a weapon she had little experience in but she had Amaterasu's strength and experience with her. A new type of determination and resolve showed clearly within Samira's eyes. There was no longer any fear of Kaori's darkness or of the thought of losing her further. She was going to bring her back and there was no question about it. "I am not going to let you fall to darkness, Kaori. You are not a monster and never were." The sword she held then raised so that it was held vertically in front of her face in preparation to face her friend once more. "I will save you. I promise you..."

A bright light shone from within the castle, and Aquarius felt his summoner's mind become more turbulent. However, at this point water had already risen to the first level of the castle and was rising with each passing moment. The floors had just began to get wet and several members had shut the doors to stave off the flooding. Kaori and Ikuchi had been distracted by the light that their time barriers were removed. Ikuchi wore a mask at all times that was capable of shielding his eyes from intense light, and thus had no issues looking at the source. Kaori however was unmasked and had to shield her eyes.

The light faded to reveal Samira standing before them, glowing slightly with a more confident look. At this time, water had risen to the base of the windows in the room... two of which were already shattered by the hawk. Water leaked in through the broken windows as the other, undamaged ones began making a cracking sound from the weight being put on them. Aquarius had no intentions of stopping until he felt his wizard was safe, and not a danger to others. Shadows had began expanding on the ground after Samira's light show, consuming the floor and walls. Samira stated that she would save Kaori, after which, laughter was heard coming from all over the room- all in Samira's voice.

Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private WcQpc5G

The darkness retracted, spiraling around a central point and rising from the ground to form something that looked like Kaori... but, also different. What Samira hadn't known was that even with her mask off, she never saw Kaori's face. The hazel eyes, and tattoos under them she remembered was nothing more than Kaori using the visage of her mother who died over a decade ago. The person being of darkness she was looking at now, still giving off an arrogant laugh as she began filling with color was the real one. "My dear..." she said, the voice fading from Samira's to Kaori's. "... Who will save you?" she asked before forming the original Shirofune and charging forward.

The original Kaori's spell had faded as she lost consciousness, her form changing to match the darkness version's. While Kaori maintained her mother's form during her sleep, she was able to do this through careful practice she'd conducted as a child. By setting the duration of the spell for a specific amount of time, she was able to let the spell slowly drain her magic power. The time she normally set was twelve hours and five minutes, and she always refreshed that time after twelve hours had passed. Sometimes she was a minute late, or several early if she didn't think she'd get the chance later. Sometimes she was extremely late, and got lucky that no one was around to see her. Now, she was completely unconscious and lacked the magic power to fuel the spell... leaving her true face to be seen.

The darkness Kaori would be just as fast and light on her feet as Kaori herself, and Samira would barely hear her as her feet tapped the surface of the water that was still slowly filling the room. Amaterasu would notice the water's speed reducing greatly, like someone counting from ten to zero and using decimals when they got to 'four' just to stall. Aquarius was being patient since he sensed the spirit got off her ass, but he wasn't fully able to stop until the dark version of Kaori had yielded. This version of Kaori wasn't so kind as to go for the kill. She would take advantage of her magic, which would come from pulling life from the real Kaori. She'd use every trick in the book from creating more clones, to using Kaori's anti-mage spells that stopped magic power from regenerating and even made it leak from the target. Then, there was a spell Kaori had never shown Samira called 'Sword Dance' where she would attack Samira and send out a blast of darkness instead of light. After that, eight copies of Kaori will emerge from Samira while spinning with their swords. Sixteen more would come out of those eight after some time, and then thirty two, and lastly sixty four as the attack got wider. It was an attack that looked like an elegant and well times dance from above, rather than a deadly area attack.

Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private Empty Re: Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private

Post by Samira Nassar 20th September 2017, 9:32 am

A mocking laughter echoed through the room as shadows began to creep along and walls and floor, turning the current battlefield into an ugly mass of darkness fit only for souls of evil and despair. The shadows tried to overtake the ground Samira stepped on, but the light glowing from her body purified it into dust. Based on the fact the laughter was the sound of her own, she expected the form of herself to appear when the shadows spiraled and grouped together to reveal the source of their creation. The clone version of herself that had latched onto Kaori, and had been driving her mad ever since. What the collective shadows turned into was not herself nor was it the form of Kaori she had seen before. It was some other woman she had never seen or met, and as she looked on it she began to wonder if it was some sort of trick. The voice then changed, matching Kaori's. The shadow part of Kaori formed her weapon and charged forward, meeting Samira in a parry that held as the two combatants pushed their blades into the other. Samira's grip began to lose itself and her weapon began to shake. 'In this state, you know what I do. My powers flow through you, my skills are yours to wield, you will move as I do, and feel as I would. You and I act as one. Trust in this knowledge and no darkness can overtake you.' Although Amaterasu was not fully present physically aside from a shimmer of light every now and then, Samira could still feel the spirit place her hands around her own, strengthening the hold. 'The source of your friend's darkness reveals itself. Defeat it, and she should return to her normal self.' A small smirk crossed the lips of the summoner for she knew the answer to the question. At one time it would of been difficult to answer, but through the lessons she had learned the answer was now all too simplistic.

"Who will save me?" She asked of the darkness version of her friend in an almost mocking tone. Her body then vanished in a ray of light, reappearing above her opponent and coming down with a slash of the sword she held. The clone raised her own weapon, parrying the airborne attack easily but found that Samira's body had already vanished again from the collision, leaving the sword and moving elsewhere. With Amaterasu's power flowing through her, she was able to move just as quickly as light could and being far faster than the enemy she now faced. The true Samira appeared from behind, and as if she instantly became some experience fighter the normally fragile woman punched the dark Kaori as she turned to strike and sent the thing flying into the nearby wall. "You forget that I am a summoner," Samira explained as the sword appeared back in her hands. "Every summoner knows they are never truly alone. If I should ever need their help, they will come. Just as one is doing for me now. As the dark part of Kaori, you would not understand that bond."

The dark Kaori was quickly back on her feet from the strike, not seeming at all phased. A wicked grin appeared on her face as yet another mocking laughter escaped her form. "Some help they were," she said, referring to the real Kaori's collection of spirits. "They couldn't do a damn thing to stop me. Aren't they supposed to actually be more powerful than I am? They're weak and useless. I hate every single one of them."

Samira remained calm regardless of the insult made towards the spirits. It was not the real one saying that, and she had seen before how Kaori treated her spirits and how much they cared for her. "They got me to this point, did they not?" Even if they themselves could not stop Kaori's madness their actions made way for her to be what she was now, an equal match.

The mocking laughter ceased and the dark Kaori glared as a response. Her shadow weapon was created once more and she vanished in shadows, resulting in Samira vanishing in light, with both coming together in the middle where each would perform several weapon and physical attacks against the other. Then both weapons glowed and leaked their natural element as they came together in a swing that should of determined the victor. Energy waves of both elements surged through the room, pushing both back through the shallow water from their original locations. They were too evenly matched in that sort of fight. The dark clone decided she needed some extra power to compensate.

"You know, the longer this goes on the more life I am pulling out of my original. Just let me kill you already and I will make things go back to normal. I promise." The shadow Kaori laughed wickedly as she split herself into ten clones, all wielding different types of weapons she had seen the real Kaori use in the past. Samira could not care about the enemy increase. Her mind had stuck on the words revolving around Kaori's life being used in order for that thing to use magic. "You are using her life for your dark magic?" A wave of anger coursed through the summoner, and with it she felt the light within her aura feel hot as it responded to her emotions. "Unforgivable!" As the clones vanished and reappeared to surround her they were all met with a bright attack that erupted from her body as a wide blast of radiance. It was burning hot and if the light itself was not enough to destroy them then the heat would have. The real dark Kaori remained, having vanished away to get distance but was still caught by Samira, who had made her own teleport as the dark version moved. She grabbed onto the imposter by the hair, threw her down, and then raised her sword to end it as it started to glow with a purifying flame. The light and flame dimmed as the attack seemed to stall. A clone she did not realize had taken form appeared and stabbed her through her stomach with its weapon, after which muttering the word that usually resulted in an explosion. The dark Kaori had escaped right before it had gone off and was now safely away, or so she thought. Samira zoomed from the dust cloud and through the water with the tip of her blade of light held before her. It impaled the dark Kaori and pinned her against the wall, after which the light of the blade began to shape into what appeared to be luminous flames. The dark Kaori would have felt its insides instantly begin to burn and turn into dust as its darkness was being purified by the blade. The battle would not end there, however.

Samira was forced to retreat as the dark Kaori blasted some sort of darkness attack at her and considering its close range it made its mark. A tinge of blackness was now upon her chest where the blast had hit. She had been injured several times, which as a thing of its own would not of been so dire. Amaterasu had the power to heal, but the process was being slowed as the magic power of the form seemed to leak away far faster than it should have been. The dark Kaori must of placed a magic leak move sometime during their attack collisions, or at least, that was the conclusion Samira had made. She was running out of power and still that monstrosity existed. Time was running out.

From the earlier blast an attack she had never seen before took place. Eight dark Kaori's emerged with their swords spinning and then the number kept doubling until there were too many to avoid by way of evading or light teleports. Samira had landed face down into the water after it all, greatly injured and weakened. Yet, she was still able to slowly stand from the strength and will power of Amaterasu.

"Even your light isn't enough to defeat me. Then again with your light being so weak, that's not saying very much, is it?" the dark Kaori said with a giggle as she walked over to Samira casually, having felt she had enough time to waste since the summoner was low on power and had injuries. She grabbed onto Samira's neck with one hand and begun to squeeze as she recreated her weapon of darkness. All of it with a smile on her face as she intended to make the final blow. "Oyasumi, Sammy."

Images of past events regarding Kaori began to cycle in rapid speed through Samira's mind, and with it she felt a growing tension in her heart that insisted she keep going and not let it end in such a way. She had promised to save her! Samira grabbed onto the arm near her neck, but more as a way to make sure the dark Kaori stayed where she was than as an act of defense. Two clones made of light materialized, stabbed the dark Kaori, and kept their hold for more insurance that she would remain. Samira allowed all the emotions she had been feeling since the first day she met Kaori and up until right then to flow through her. Her desire and will to save her friend went with it. To correct mistakes and misunderstandings added its way in. Wishes. Dreams. Regrets. Everything that she was. The soft glow her body had since Amaterasu's arrival grew brighter and soon a golden shimmery mist circled the two. "I..have been...judged," Samira said weakly as the dark Kaori continued to squeeze her neck, ignoring the injuries she had received. "Have...you?" A large pillar of golden light crashed onto the two beings, as if it were an act of divine punishment. One last attack with everything she had left.

The dark Kaori smiled when the light washed over her, forming a  barrier over herself. As the light consumed them both she said "You and your false gods lack the authority to judge us." with a cold tone. When the light stopped, Kaori wasn't even smouldering. "Where there is great light, there is great darkness." Kaori said while ignoring the swords in her body, her ruby eyes narrowing on Samira. Her face drew closer to Samira's and she gently planted a kiss on her cheek. "But your resolve can be enough to keep us safe." She said into the summoner's ear in a relaxed tone.

The shadow Kaori vanished momentarily before standing over the unconscious Kaori. Her next words were more suggestive than informal... "The clan symbol is the Hibiscus, but we actually prefer orchids.... and chocolate, the ones with a creme center." was her message to Samira before turning into darkness that sank back into Kaori.

The waters began going back down and even rising off the castle floor to exit through the two shattered windows. "Took ya long enough." Aquarius said in an exasperated tone before vanishing to the Celestial Spirit world to notify the others that everything was okay. Ikuchi had carried his master back to the medical ward before leaving, saying he needed to regain his honor. While Kaori was unconscious for a week afterwards, a day came where the damages to the castle had repaired themself overnight. Of course, in classic Kaori fashion, she'd vanished without a word to anyone. Even the hulking behemoth of a ship called the Arc of Destiny was gone...

Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private Empty Re: Kaori & Samira: Bringing Light to the Shadows - Private

Post by Samira Nassar 20th September 2017, 3:19 pm

The light of the attack had faded and seemed to cause absolutely no damage to the dark Kaori. She had failed and now she was going to die with her promise unfulfilled. Her eyes turned into those belonging to someone that was suffering a great defeat and the hope she had before had left her. Instead of a receiving a finishing blow, however, she obtained a kiss on the cheek and words about her resolve being enough to protect Kaori. Samira may not of had the power to ultimately defeat the darkness that lived inside her friend, but she did have enough to keep it in check. That still was not enough. What if in time it grew to a point that she could not keep up with its strength and the whole process started over again?

The shadow Kaori disappeared back into the original, its final words telling her of some of Kaori's likes. Flowers and chocolates? Well she had been told of the woman's feelings for her and those were the general types of gifts given to a significant other. Noted for future reference regardless. Any feelings she had towards Kaori in that area would of been confused since while she did love her as a friend, she was not sure she could ever love her the way she wanted to be.

Samira's magic faded, Amaterasu's power leaving her and restoring the summoner to how she had been before. She began to collapse, having only been able to stand for so long due to the spirit's strength and will. Susano materialized and caught her as she began to fall and held her as if she were a child. While Kaori's spirits served under a seasoned fighter and required no guidance, Samira's spirits served under a summoner that was still growing and being nurtured. She was like a child in that respect. "Really, sister, you went overboard."

'What transpired is what had to be done. The contract came early. She will get used to the effects in time. I only wish that we were able to purify the darkness completely, but it is a strong part of the girl. She will never let go of it.'

"So it seems." He said in a rather monotone voice, having no sarcastic comment or remark as he usually would have. "Now just comes the hardest part." Susano said as he referred to the healing process, not just physically but emotionally. Her mental state was more concerning than any wounds she received. He vanished from the battlefield with Samira, leaving the others to do as they pleased. He had no comments he desired to speak towards them. The fate of his summoner was more important than any comments he would make.

The coming weeks would be difficult, especially when Kaori seemed to have vanished, leaving Samira to be unable to confront her or check in on her. Once again she had been left alone without a word, and resumed her normal life.
