Rai was absolutely fuming at the fact he'd ended up here. One moment he was happily sleeping in the corner of his room, the next he was thrust in front of some board being told he needed to 'pull his weight'. Someone had pulled some note down with information on it and that was that; he'd been thrust into some job or another. The bastard hadn't even offered to help even though the job required two people, so now Rai was stood in the middle of a place he didn't know, doing a job he didn't want to do, with someone he had no idea about. For all he knew they could be an absolute psycho! Maybe they'd try to capture him or something?!
He released an exasperated sigh and kicked a pebble in defeat before looking around. The man he'd been hired to protect was nearby and amongst crowds of people, so any assassination attempt at this precise moment was minimal at best. Rai had scouted the city out in preparation - mostly out of boredom of waiting - and had established that the attempts would likely be on the road between this location and the Royal Castle. Given how the client was pretty close to finishing his speech, Rai found himself oddly hopeful that whoever his job partner was, they'd turn up soon. If only so he'd know what they looked like and wouldn't feel so threatened.
