[Private] Goin' on adventure - Ada & Eris (Noheme)

Noheme never really got to do a job like this one. It was because she was from Joya and as a goddess there, she held much more power than regular humans. While a lot of that was negated by the girl getting herself a new, mortal body that she could use in this world, she was still far from weak even at the start of her training. But by the end of it, when she felt comfortable even leaving the thick jungle that the land of Joya was, she could already be considered an A-ranked mage in Fiore. This essentially allowed her to just skip over the usual process of novic magi going on these small jobs, training themselves in order to become stronger and capable of finishing the more dangerous kind of work. She never really knew if that was a good or bad thing, but in the end, it really did not matter at all.

She would get to try one of them right now anyway. Since they managed to find a flier that was describing someone loosing their puppy. The owner had to be quite desperate, to call on mages for help. But at least this could serve as training for Ada, get her accustomed to living in this world for the time being. The goddess wasn't really sure what the alien had to consume in order to keep on living, but it probably cost jewels to buy. And what better way to get jewels than this kind of work? Easy and quick, most of the time anyway. "Ada is very much allowed to do this? We need to find a lost puppy that apparently ran off to the Spooky Forest. The place can get quite dangerous if you venture too deep in, but I have a feeling our target won't be that far."

No regular animal could get very far anyway. So they were headed there, as time was kinda valuable in missions like these. The pup could get eaten at any moment out there. And regarding Ada being present, well... this was a magical world. All kinds of creatures existed here, ranging from three headed chickens to mighty dragons. While the alien got attacked at some point, most would probably not really care about her for as long as she would keep her sharp teeth hidden away. Especially right now, most would probably just assume that the girl was Noheme's pet or companion of some kind. It didn't exactly sound like the best of situations to be in, but better cover than none, right?

They continued on the path as the young alien threw many questions on the moon goddess. Questions that were not quite easy to answer for someone who could use words on daily basis without really thinking about their meaning and definitions. Striking an expression that was deep in thought, Noheme would place few of her fingers in her chin as she tried to find a proper way of wording it for someone like Ada, so that she would actually understand. "Puppy is a small dog. Dog is an animal. And animal is non-humanoid organism... I guess..." This probably wouldn't lead anywhere, as there were more words that the girl would not understand. With a sigh, she went to the next one. "There is no rule stopping you from doing this, so you are allowed to do it. And anyone who says you are not allowed is wrong."

It was really as simple as that. The only rule about doing jobs as a mage was the fact that you had to be strong enough, or at least accompanied by someone who would fulfill that requirement. The alien girl was certainly in that category so there was absolutely no need for her to worry about anything. "And spooky is another word for scary. Something that will make your whole body shiver." That was a good enough definition, right? Well, the fox girl could only hope. The conversation also shifted in a little different direction when something from before was mentioned, as well as showing a desire to learn new words. It was indeed good to have that, but nothing should be rushed. "Beautiful. It means you are pleasant to look at. And worry not, I will teach you new words as we go along."

It was a bit strange, just kinda walking next to a being that flied in such manner. Well, Noheme just wasn't quite used to walking besides anyone, really. She was a lonely being who only truly bared the companionship of her own sister. But the girl was gone now, trying to revive her social status and buried links with other people. It was why the moon goddess went to take a little bath by Clover Town alone. And she would have been in this place by her lonesome as well if Ada did not show up. "If Ada gets scared by anything, I will make sure to protect her from the way of harm." She replied with a gentle smile. At times, she questioned the bursts of positive nature she had. But it was not a bad thing, socializing like that. Even if it wasn't with a human.

And if just walking by herself was something unusual for her, the fact that the alien girl held her arm like that was something entirely different. Something the fox girl though would happen only with a lover. But again, perhaps this was not such a bad thing. After all, the goddess would probably never find a soulmate like that, especially not under her current circumstances. It was simply impossible. So she stopped focusing on all that, just walking further along. They were not far now, but still a bit before they would reach the edge of Spooky Forest. They probably should have not gone by foot, judging by the sounds that she was making and the question that followed. "Uh... you probably mean bored. Don't worry, we're almost there. Then we'll start tracking the pup."

Though something happened rather suddenly, the girl letting go of the arm she was holding onto until now and going into something that could be called 'combat mode'. Noheme heard it too. After all, her senses were much stronger than the ones of regular humans. But she was not alerted at all. "Don't worry Ada, it's probably just some critter." She tried to calm her down so that she would not lunge forward unless necessary.

The girl wasn't listening and that was somewhat troublesome. It made Noheme unsure of the fact if she should act or not. And in the end, she did not. She merely watched as the white being sped herself up and dived into the bushes and other flora that was around. Listening to the sounds that suddenly spiked up and filled the air, the moon goddess quickly knew what was going on. She was taught about many different creatures and at this point, she was quite knowledgeable in them, capable of recognizing the sound quite easily. She watched as Ada came back with the creature in her grasp, asking what it was. Well, of course she would not know. Kneeling down to match her companion's more animalistic posture right now, she sighed with a smile.

"That's a creature called rabbit. Completely harmless and probably quite scared. Or at least it was when you went ahead and started chasing it. Listen, this much is fine. But next time, listen to me more. If you were to do the same thing, but accidentally attacked a human instead of just some animal, it could end really bad. Do you understand?" She only wanted to help this alien girl. But for that to happen, there needed to be some rules. Because without those, others would still view her as nothing more than thread to the society. She would grow and develop eventually. But for now, the moon goddess had to be there to help the girl with it all.

"Looks like it calmed down a bit. You can keep it for a little bit longer, but you should let it go eventually. It might have a family of it's own somewhere around here, a home it wants to return to. Just like you." Trying to speak in way that Ada would understand, Noheme would show her that this creature could be in the same situation as her if she wanted to keep it. It was almost like educating a little child. Funny, yet serious at the same time. Was the goddess succumbing to her maternal instinct? Did she even have any? Well, her mortal vessel probably had, which wold explain it all.

She let the bunny go and that was a good choice. Every living creature was seeking it's freedom, even Noheme was. And while it would appear like she had all the freedom in the world to an outsider, she herself felt constrained and unable to breath at times. A suffocating feeling that would make her chest hurt, especially when she thought about her now deceased lover. But right now was not a very good time to be thinking about something as depressing as that. For Ada asked another question, a curious one. The moon goddess would smile and look into the alien girl's eyes again. "You're correct in that I'm not a human. Humans look just like me, but usually without the ears and tail. Human is what attacked Ada, but only because human was scared. And when scared, they sometimes to regrettable and dangerous things."

She knew very well. Her sister knew very well as well. Emotions were a dangerous thing to everyone, no matter how much you would clad yourself against them. In the end, it mattered not. Hopefully the alien would understand at least something of it. Though she quickly started reacting different as a reflection started hurting her eyes. The fox girl didn't realize there was a house this nearby as she got up, looking straight at it. Ada would hug the goddess from behind and ask again. Only for her companion to answer her question just like all the other times. "It probably is. I didn't realize we were this close. Means that the spooky forest is pretty near now as well. And in human tongue, it's eyes. Not gates." She wound say as she tried turning her head around a little to take a look at the girl behind her.

While this position was slightly uncomfortable for the green and golden tail, she could remain like that a little bit longer. Noheme viewed Ada as a lost child that needed all the help she could get. And she was willing to give her just that along their way. What their relationship would eventually develop into was still rather unclear at this point in time, but that was fine too. Sometimes, heading into the darkness was the best option. And besides, evolution and development were natural for any living being. They could grow to love each other, or hate each other. One simply could not know just yet. Time was what was required. Time that would eventually forge relationships that could not be broken easily.

Alien or not, all beings longed for company. Everyone wanted to avoid loneliness and Ada was just the same. Noheme was the same too. She wanted to feel love, friendship and every other bond you could think of. But fate was cruel to her and there was a chance she would be deprived of it all eventually. After all, she was cursed with the magic of poison. And having little control over this power of hers, the venom would eventually start affecting allies as well, surely. Thankfully as of right now, it wasn't so bad and because of that, she could still hold this pale girl's hand like that. So she wanted to enjoy it until she could.

"We'll need to talk to the human after we find the puppy at least. But you don't have to worry about anything, I'll make sure no one will hurt you at all. If it comes to the worst, I'll protect you at all cost!"

For some reason, the moon goddess felt rather protective of her companion. Was it because she acted like a little child at times? Or maybe it was because of their 'kiss' earlier? Both were possible and the fox girl would have to think about it in solitude to get a proper and truthful answer. And speaking of before, the alien suddenly stopped walking as her voice... cracked? Noheme was unsure of what was happening and stopped as well, watching her companion with concerned eyes.

"Hey, are you alright? We can rest if you need to..."

she tried approaching the alien girl, grabbing her by shoulders in order to keep her steady and calm. But the panic attack did not last very long, as her companion used her tail to increase her height and, well... lean in for a kiss? It happened before and this time, it caught the goddess of guard just as much as before. She tried to back away, but it was far too late for that now, as their tongues interlocked. But it was not a kiss of two lovers, as it did not last too long and was not filled with those emotions either. The sole purpose of it was for the girl to regain her ability of speech. And she did, as she proved when she leaned back and spoke out again.

"T..that's good. Just try to warn me somehow next time you're about to do that."

Her tanned skin was now also adorned with rosy color as she blushed quite a bit, turning her head away in embarrassment, continuing to walk in the direction they were already headed in before. Spooky Forest was now very close and they could probably enter it any moment.

The goddess stayed mostly turned away as her cheeks still remained rosy in color, especially when the alien girl asked for an explanation. How would you explain this to anyone without appearing guilty of some undesirable thoughts, seriously! Well, thankfully Ada appeared to be gullible when it came to Earthly matters, as they were a completely unknown to her. "Its hot outside, it's making my skin react, is all!" She tried to just swipe everything under to rug as they continued walking on forward, even if that wasn't the best of saves considering Noheme's clothes offered plenty of breathing room and space for 'ventilation'. In any case, they were truly drawing near now which was only confirmed by the pure white girl growing somewhat more reluctant than ever before.

"You're probably way scarier than anything we could find in this place if I'm being honest..." These thoughts were what the goddess wanted to say out loud, but didn't. She did not wish to make her companion feel bad or confused even more in this situation, so she just sighed. "It's fine. As long as you're by my side, I will protect you no matter what." It was the truth. The venomous goddess was rather strong when it came down to magical power, surely capable of defeating any enemies around here. Eventually, the atmosphere around them would start to change, growing dark as they entered the forbidden woods. And the alien made it much more clear that she was feeling rather bad in here.

Thankfully the goddess had her own plan of perhaps showing off and giving the white creature some courage. Moving further forward and leaving Ada few steps behind, Noheme surrounded herself with purple deadly aura that quickly formed ever-changing mass inside of her hands. All it took were two swings and these poisonous slashes would shoot out forward, quickly eroding everything around them and essentially forming a clearing devoid of trees and grass where sun could once more shine, making the darkness go away for now. "See? I have enough power to protect you at any time. So try to trust me, okay?"

A reaction like that was somewhat unexpected from Ada. But perhaps it should have been expected, all things considered. As the trees decayed and withered away, the goddess could only watch her newly found friend struggle with it all. She did not know what to say, or what to do. So she simply stood there motionlessly until the alien ran over to what foliage was left around this part. And as she was over there, Noheme herself would sigh and take a good look at one of her own hands. Veins inside of it were not perfectly visible through the skin, their color of saturated purple. It was not a nice sight at all, but it was completely normal for the girl now.

She tried to hide it as best as possible, make sure no one else would have to stare at something so unsightly. Though she lacked any gloves at all for now, she looked back Ada when she said she was ready. "I see. Hope you feel somewhat better now. Sorry, it was to be expected from this cursed power of mine. It eats away on everything. Enemies, friends, even me myself. But let us not bother with that and continue. I think I can hear something that does not belong here just few more steps further into the forest." Indeed, they had to be close now. The puppy couldn't have possibly gone too far in, considering what animal it actually was and how dangerous this place could be. For now, the goddess awaited what Ada would do and then start walking further in as was planned.

Truly, this little alien girl was all the surprises to the fox girl. She was used to dealing with people that would keep their distance. Either because they were simply wary of those they did not know all that well, or because they wished to remain professional during their contracts. But Ada was clearly different. That much was proven when the alien creature moved in to give her green-haired companion a hug. It took Noheme by surprise, as she even made a couple of steps backward before she came to a complete halt. But eventually, the initial shock melted away, as well as the girl's overly serious expression. She would hug the white girl back, if not for the fact that she used her tail to its fullest and lifted herself a bit higher. A position that would make it little awkward to embrace her back right now. But that was fine. Surely Ada knew just from the vixen's smile that everything was fine and that she was happy about this situation. Despite her curse... she could be accepted by at least someone. And just knowing that much was very comforting to the powerful mage.

And watching her alien companion take such a defensive stance against the oversized apes that slowly started emerging from the flora, it was kinda cute. Noheme would try to place one of her hands onto Ada's body, perhaps calm her down a bit. "Relax. These are not that strong. And there are two of them... if you are to live in this world for some time, you ought to know how to defend yourself. I'll take the bigger one and you can show me how you handle yourself on the smaller one, alright? Go!" With that, she herself would nearly instantly disappear from the spot she was standing at, stopping in front of the Vulcan. "Hey. Didn't know you guys were around these parts. You better go where you came from~" Her voice had a teasing tone to it, as if the goddess knew that these creatures were smart enough to understand her. But that clearly wasn't the case, as her opponent attempted a direct punch. Of course, it was easily stopped by the vixen's hand that grabbed the Vulcan's arm instead, throwing it over her own body and crashing it into the ground, knocking the poor beast out instantly. Now she was ready to observe Ada and help her if such need would arise.

Noheme was indeed quite surprised by what followed. She already knew that Ada's physical strength was far above one of a regular human. Her body structure alone suggested that much, she seemed like a predator. But displaying abilities like these was something completely different. She was able to utilize mana, the ethernano that her body would absorb. So perhaps her world wasn't all that different from this one? Well, who really knew. The goddess had absolutely no idea how this process worked, even though she herself was from a completely different plane of existence. And so, as her now feathered friend took care of the beast, the vixen would clap several times with a smile on her face. At least until the moment where she started ascending again because of the giant Ape deciding that it wasn't quite done yet. "Take a nap. This job is over." She had already sensed it before, but their target appeared to be around her somewhere. Which would probably also explain the Vulcans, as they probably tried to catch the poor thing.

And along with those words, spoken out loud, she would once again almost teleported to the animal, her leg crashing into it strong enough to knock it out. Honestly, she didn't even need to use her magic on enemies of this level. It would have been a great overkill if she did. But in any case, the enemies were defeated and the green-haired fox now approached her alien friend again, trying to reach out to her, embrace her perhaps to calm her down. "Don't worry. That's just a transformation. And judging by its magical signature, it's not part of the power you displayed before. Guess you had some hidden talent there, congratulations on discovering it!" She would praise her in hopes that Ada would calm down. Though the situation didn't stay calm for all that long, as the bushes rustled once more. Only this time, a tiny puppy would jump out. "Ah, there you were. Why don't you go get him, Ada? With this, our job is finished." They just had to visit the family that requested the girl's assistance and get paid. That was always the easiest part of the job, even if Ada's appearance was somewhat unusual. But again, they were in the world of magic where just about anything was possible. The owner will most likely not even bat an eye. Something that would surely give the little alien some more confidence in herself, too.

It was only natural that Ada was unsure. After all, most people were unsure about things that were happening for the very first time to them. Even she herself was very unsure about many of her own actions in the past, when she came to this land for the first time. When she descended from the Astral realm and presented herself to the Joyan tribe as a goddess. All of that seemed ages ago now. What was truly important was the present and the fact they were both alive and breathing. Happy, even. Or at least it appeared so from the simple interactions that Noheme was witnessing. It was quite adorable, observing how the alien girl held the tiny creature at a secure distance before letting in close and seemingly taking a liking to it.

"Yes, that is a puppy. Our target. Now we go to the manor you saw before. People there will take the puppy back and pay us for doing a good job. Don't be afraid, I'll be right there by your side. If anything goes bad, I will protect you no matter what."

Saying those words with a confident smile, the vixen took few steps toward her companion and affectionately patted her on the head, taking in the unusual feathery feeling to it. Indeed, everyone was unsure when it came down to doing things for the first time. But if there was someone by your side to calm you down and support you in any situation that could take place, even the vilest of feelings could just float away and disappear. Noheme still didn't know much about Ada, but the little alien seemed fragile in her own way. And that alone made the goddess want to protect her, as if she was a child of her own.

"Don't worry, you will grow smarter and capable of speaking Earthland's language in no time. All you need is practice. I will help you with it all, so there is no need to be afraid of failing."

With that, she would slowly start walking in the direction toward their desired destination. It wasn't far. Quite close, actually. Only a few miles at most. So as they walked, it was no problem to spend the time talking more and maybe helping the girl understand the language more by doing so.

"Animals like that live all over Earthland. If you'll ever feel lonely and have a proper home to stay in, we could get you one like this as well. Fluffy and full of affection. But taking care of them is a hard task at times, so you have to be prepared."

The conversation continued just like that until they were finally in front of the main entrance to the giant home. And to their convenience, it seemed that one of the butlers was already waiting outside of it on the lookout, hoping that the heroes would return with the fragile animal any moment.

"Now, remain calm and go to that gentleman over there. You need to hand the puppy over to him so he can return it to it's owner. Don't be afraid, he won't hurt you."

Curious as a newly born babe, was this one? Well, it was how it was. Ada desired to return to the place she had come from. But unfortunately, Noheme did not know how to help her in this. Returning someone to a different world was no easy task, especially if that world was mostly unknown. It meant that the little alien would have to stand in this world for some time, surely. And with that, she would probably start learning about it and it's history sooner or later. Though now was hardly the time to educate her about why and how was this world called. They would probably have plenty of time for that later on. For right now, they had to deliver the little puppy back to the family that was surely worried sick right about now.

And just as the goddess predicted, everything went just as smoothly as it possibly could. It was true that there were vile humans that took pleasure in hurting others for no reason in particular. But not everyone was like that. The butler might have been little startled by Ada's appearance at first, but showing that she was friendly made him lose his hesitation and take the puppy from her. Just like that, their job was finished and the vixen could only smile at her companion as she came toward her.

"You did marvelous. Noheme is very proud of you, Ada. Now we wait indeed."

And they did not even have to wait that long. Soon, the family was reunited with their pet and their happiness was visible through the window as the sharp alien noticed. Patting her ivory white hair once more, the goddess would look in the same direction.

"That is part of the reward. You helped those people be happy again. And they will not forget that easily. They will be grateful to you for a very long time."

Soon after, the butler came out of the front door again, holding a fairly standard sack filled with Jewels in his hand. Handing it over, the vixen would gesture to Ada that she was free to take it all if she wanted, the rest of their reward.

"Misses and misters rambunctious are very grateful for the fact that you have been able to retrieve their companion unharmed. Along with the promised reward, they wish you an eternal luck on your travels. And please, accept my thanks as well."

Bowing once in front of the goddess and then in front of Ada, he would smile one last time before retreating back into the building. It was always nice to see reactions of those that you helped. The joy inside of them, the relief.

"Shall we go? I'm sure there are plenty more places you want to explore, right?"
