- Appearance:
It was a sunny Monday morning as Desirée was taking a train ride to Oshibana. But why was she headed to Oshibana, especially alone? The night before, Desirée had found a job request that was way out of her comfort zone, but felt like it was necessary. This job request was to assist an elderly man in returning with his friends, but there was a darker twist to the job: All of his friends were in the afterlife. This means that she was to duel the man, which would result in the man's death. But why would Desirée want to do this odd task, especially since she was a legal mage? Desirée felt as though she needed to practice her combat skills, since she felt as though jobs would begin to get more dangerous as she moved up the levels of her guild. She also signed a great amount of new contracts recently with other Crystals from Chrysalis, so she felt as though she needed to practice using them for tasks. Her hoop was beginning to fill up with different colored circular crystals, thus making her more useful for different guild assignments.
On the train, she was sitting by herself towards the back, sitting in the seat closest to the window. Outside were beautiful sunflower fields, which had beautiful purple birds flying overhead. The sun was nearly overhead, which meant that it was approaching noon. She had brought with her a shrimp po-boy from the Rose Garden deli, which seemed to be warm still. She took a bite, which resulted in crumbs falling all over her beautiful, flowing yellow dress. She brushed them off, and the train began to slow down to stop. Desirée hopped off the train, and began to look at the map inside the train station. She was to meet the elderly man inside the forest nearby, where he wanted to spend his last moments. The forest was a few miles walk, so Desirée decided to test out one of her new Crystals she signed with a few days earlier. This Crystal was named Opal, and she was capable of flying, which would be of extreme use to Desirée. As she walked out the train station, she pulled her hoop out from her pockets. "From Chrysalis, I summon thee: Opal!" She exclaimed, grasping a beautiful multi-colored stone from the hoop. In a flash of beautiful light was the Crystal Desirée contracted with a few days ago, looking as fresh as ever.
- Appearance of Opal:
"Nice to see you, Desirée! You summoned me at the perfect time, I just finished delivering the mail for the day. What would you like me to do for you?" Opal asked, adjusting her gloves. "Please fly me up about 100 meters, and fly me two miles north," Commanded Desirée, wondering how exactly Opal would accomplish this. "Sure thing! Grab onto my skirt!" Opal exclaimed. "Okay!" Desirée said, nervously. She grabbed onto both sides of the skirt, and Opal asked, "Are you ready? We will be launching in 10, 9... NOW!" Opal launched into the sky at extreme speeds, causing Desirée to scream in terror. "SLOW DOWN!" Desirée screamed, holding on for her life. Opal began to slow down to about 30 miles per hour. "Enjoy the view?" Opal asked, directing Desirée to look down toward the trees. They looked to be shining from the overhead view, and you could see birds inside their nests. "We are here!" Opal exclaimed, while beginning to descend. She could see a man meditating in the clearing, which looked to be at peace. "Time to drop you! Bye-Bye!" Opal exclaimed, dropping Desirée about ten meters off the ground. Desirée screamed, but landed on her feet smoothly. Opal flashed into light, and headed back to Chrysalis.
"Hi sir, I am here for your job request!" Desirée exclaimed, in which she completely forgot she was actually taking the man's life. "Ah, yes. It is now my time to join my friends in Valhallah, which is why I requested for you to come and take my life." He exclaimed, with a surprisingly happy attitude. "Erm.. Okay sir.. I am Desirée, what is your name?" She asked, debating whether or not she should grant his wish. "My name is Ior Valiir, thank you very much for asking. It is very sincere of you to fulfill this quest, my dear. Now, I am prepared to battle. I will not go down without a fight. Please get in your fighting stance, dear." He exclaimed, grabbing his sword and backing up. "Yes sir. Do not hold back!" Desirée exclaimed, running to the middle-lines. She grabbed her hoop, and prepared to summon another newer Crystal. They both nodded, and Desirée clasped her fingers around a beautiful blue and purple crystal. "From Chrysalis, I summon thee: Bismuth!" Desirée exclaimed, in which a blue and purple light began to shine from above.
- Appearance of Bismuth:
Appearing in a beautiful blue-purple was Bismuth, a royal Crystal. She was wielding a long, glass sword. "Greetings, Madame Blooms. I will complete any task you give me." Bismuth said, kneeling down to Desirée. "Please duel this man, and honorably take his life," She ordered, in which she bowed. She picked up the glass sword and raised it high, and began to sprint towards the elder man. As she reached the elder man, he raised his shield, attempting to block the attack. The glass sword slashed through the shield, thus having the blade sink through his chest. As it sunk through, Bismuth shattered, therefore returning to Chrysalis. He let out a deep sigh, followed by the words "You did well, my dear." Desirée ran up to the man with some flowers she had picked earlier, and placed them in between his hands. She sat behind his head, placing his head in her lap. "I hope you get to see your friends in the afterlife, and I hope it is exactly how you imagined." Desirée said, wiping a tear away from her eye. "This act is greatly appreciated. I will recognize you in Valhallah." He said, which turned out to be his last words. Desirée payed her respects, and surrounded his body with beautiful white flowers from the surrounding area. She walked back to the train station, and cried the entire ride back to her home.
