It didn't take long and Leila was already heading towards another job that came directly from the magic council. Apparently becoming the Rising Star number one had effects that no one cared to disclose to the girl, as there was now a crazed treasure hunter that could probably blow up half of the world if he got his dirty hands on something powerful and she was meant to stop him. As a fellow treasure hunter and proud member of the Golden Phoenix guild, she had a sacred duty to stop him at any cost, too! Which was why she accepted this job without even thinking about refusing. Not that she was ever really thinking about refusing for any job that would come her way, as that was her nature. There as also the fact that she was doing all of this for the reward which was also listed in the info that she got from the council. This time it wasn't just for the jewels, it was for something more material as well. And Leila did like getting shiny things whenever she could. Though her armory already had just about anything she could ever need, or so it looked like to her. And just like that, she found herself on a horseback once more, galloping through grassland and small hills, only to reach those ancient ruins. Why fly when it was so easy to enjoy the simple things, just like in the past? And the ancient ruins... it certainly sounded like a place where treasure would be hidden... but it was also pretty obvious, and thus surprising that someone showed up only now to take all the riches that this ancient labyrinth was hiding.

It was almost suspicious... or maybe it was that there was simply nothing in this place and the group of treasure hunters was just mistaken or far too optimistic. Still, the higher-ups were not willing to take that risk, which is why she was here right now. With a loud sigh, she hopped down from the leather saddle as she finally arrived at the entrance. It looked almost as a stone tube, leading into the depths of the earth itself beneath the ruins themselves. As her eyes darted about, several things came to her attention. Mainly remnants of a camp, indicating that there truly was someone inside. But at least Ori liked it here, as the furball quickly moved from the girl's backpack and started hopping around in the tall grass. Now that they weren't going anywhere at high speed, he was actually free to play around and properly stretch his limbs. And so did his owner, who also yawned as it was still pretty early in the morning. The sun was only slightly above the mountains in the far distance, not blocked by a single cloud. Pretty much a perfect weather, one could argue. Unfortunately, she did not have enough time to just lie on the ground and sunbathe. Though she did have a little bit of time, as she was waiting for another person to show up. Or perhaps it wasn't quite right to say 'person' as the one she was waiting for was a sentient machine, a Machias. Also known as the Nameless Golem, he was her father. It was always nice to have some company. Especially if one was to wonder lonesome labyrinth and eventually fight against a horde of angry mages who were looking for some manner of treasure but found nothing instead.

For now, she seated herself against one of the stone walls, right next to the lingering darkness that the hall next to her was emitting. It sure was dark in there, they should probably try to craft some form of a torch or other light before venturing inside. But that was a problem for later, as Leila often lived by the rule of 'leave tomorrow's problems to tomorrow you' when out like this. Meaning she would care about getting a light source only once her father arrives and not sooner. Ori too didn't seem to have much on his mind, as his glowing fur slightly illuminated the grass around his body, the tiny frame of his being nothing more than a spec in the sight of the ancient underground labyrinth she was to enter. In these situations, one just had to wonder who exactly made these structures and just for what purpose. It was quite puzzling indeed. In the meantime, the mechanical father was still inside of a distant hotel. He himself was quite the wanderer, after all. Not to mention that he's been working very hard, and his work had even noticed by the magic council and other mages as well! Though he wasn't officially a mage of any description, it seemed that they took him for one and counted on his help whenever there was a problem Leila had to solve. But honestly, that was something the nameless golem would do regardless of the outside world's interference. He wanted to help his daughter always, ever since he adopted in that barren land filled with cruelty. That moment was the true beginning of his story and the story of Leila Vergious. The story of Gardens of Eden, the story of it all. If not for this single machine, nothing of that would have ever happened.

It was honestly something a little difficult to think about, both for the mechanical being and a regular human. But he knew that he always wasn't there for his daughter. And thus he also knew that he had tons more work to do before he could truly forgive himself again. In the end, his own power wasn't even that important, even if it allowed him to be admired by others. It wouldn't matter. He lived his life only for the few people that he actually cared about rather than the masses. In this respect, he was different from his daughter who tried to find a middle road, always find some time for those she loved and adored and yet serve the entire world as a mage who would become the hero. Shaking his head at it all, the machine would step out of the building slowly as checked that he had everything necessary. And in a very similar fashion to Leila, he would get onto his horse and let it gallop away, toward the great and ancient ruins where the two were meant to meet. He was a little bit late already, which was somewhat unusual for him, but it was not like he was perfect. Despite being made out of well-oiled cogs and springs, he still had his own flaws too.
