There is 1 Boss, 1 Strong Monster, 3 Normal Monster, and 1 Weak Monster. ^3^

Disa had always been fascinated by monsters and even just the idea of hunting in general. No matter how loving of nature she always was, it was simply fun to chase and stalk prey. Some primal instinct, she would suppose. The brunette was thinking about this because the Magic Council had recently put out a notice that there were hordes of the monsters advancing in from the edges of Fiore to become a threat. She was very excited, honestly, to be on this kind of job; the mage had never really attempted something aside from mundane and local work that barely even required someone with any remote amount of magical talent.

For a while now, she had been carrying around a certain blue, brown, and yellow egg as well. She had acquired it on a recent outing and was hoping that it would hatch. Perhaps the excitement from battling monsters would do something, and if that adrenaline didn't work, she would simply have to hope that the warmth from holding it against her back in her pack during the journey, would work. At the moment Disa was waiting to see if any other person seemed to be wanting to hunt the monsters that the Magic Council had spoken of. She had traveled already to the Fat Monsterland, but after a encounter with two Chimera which she had barely survived and only thanks to the quick thinking of another nearby mage, the girl acknowledged that a companion would be very helpful. As excited as she would be to attempt the mission on her own, getting killed by opponents high above her reach was not on the list of goals.

Margaret Elle, adventurer extraordinaire, all around happy nice girl, and expert on destructive elemental forces, was on the hunt for monsters. Now monsters weren't a foreign concept to her, she had seen and helped monster fights back in the old days when she was camping buddies with her old group. She wasn't exactly an expert on them back then and she certainly still wasn't now but she could hold her own pretty well. Besides, on her own was how she worked best nowadays, she didn't have to watch out if a spell or two had gone and hit an ally or two...or five...or half of the raid party...

So when the call came for beating back waves of monsters Margaret immediately knew that it was right up her alley, along with escort missions and ruin exploration. She joined the many that answered the call of the Magic Council and came to repel the attacking force along with them. One strategic mass teleportation later and they were all at Fat Monsterland, which quite frankly she felt fit better as a name for a theme park with a fat monster mascot.

"Hey there!" She greeted another mage, a female with either a strange shade of black or brown hair, who was holding an egg. "Is that breakfast or are you just one of those people who carry eggs into battle?" She joked. "You here to wreck some monster faces? I'm here for it! Margaret Elle is the name! Elemental magic buggery is my specialty." Her introduction was fast paced and compact. Margaret considered that maybe having a partner for this particular job wouldn't hurt. "Say, I hear these mons are tough punks, wanna go tag team them?"

... You are not allowed to eat the egg, Disa would state flatly with a grim expression on her face , before breaking in to a light smile. I am indeed here to hunt down these strange monsters. My name is Disa Jyouri from the Golden Phoenix guild; it is very nice to meet you, Margaret. I also have Elemental Magic, although it is only of the Earth. She was wondering whether it would be a intelligent idea to elaborate a bit more before asking a dozen curious questions about the girl's magic when the female went on to talk. It was a bit of a surprising proposal to Disa, perhaps only because she was dense enough to not genuinely care about the enemies being very strong and probably able to kill her easily. Nonetheless, she would readily accept the offer. I like that idea, she said, flashing a quick grin at Margaret. Let's go.

The girl immediately sprang forward with the intent of running off to find the nearest monster, when she came to the realization that even though they had barely been teleported far into the Fat Monsterland, there were already several milling around the nearby. In fact, Disa almost ran head first in to one before she had noticed her error. Pushing off the ground, she flew the several meters back and was able to see the enemy with more clarity. There were quite a few of them; there were possibly fifteen of the one eyed monsters. When she took another second to properly count, she would realize there were in fact exactly fourteen. There are almost fifteen of these Cyclopes? Her voice was uncertain about the plural form of Cyclops, but it did not really matter either way. They look strong, she would comment however, before shouting the spell she would use in this plan.

Earth Dragon's Core, Activate! Earth Dragon's Wings! Two red and brown wings, with the shape of a dragon's but a smaller size to fit her body better, would appear and carry Disa into the air above the Cyclopes. They all crowded underneath her, mushed close to each other and reaching up with their hands as if trying to reach her. She could fly up to 140 meters into the air, so it was not an issue of being grabbed. Still, she wanted to keep their attention and it was indeed a little bit nerve inducing to have so many monsters directly underneath her, as if what would happen if she fell was dangerous. If you want to do something that would hit all of them, do it now, Margaret! the brunette would shout to her newly found partner.

"Great! Well let's start with-Hey wait up!" Margaret called after Disa as she ran off to find some monsters to fend off. As it would turn out when she finally caught up to the girl, she succeeded. She was already engaged with combat with them, gaining wings and taking flight as the Cyclopes...Cyclopses? Cycli? Whatever a lot of them were called. "Don't go running off like that again please?" Margaret called flight as she used her own form of flight.

Winds carried her and brought her up as high as her companion. "Ready?" She asked. Without even waiting for a proper response she gathered up her magic for a spell. "Make sure you make good use of this. HYAAAAAAAAH!" She dove down.

"The earth shatters! Crumble!" She yelled out once she was close enough to the ground.

With her utterance of the spell's name the earth beneath the Cyclopes broke apart and came together into one giant lump of rock keeping them still. She could hear them struggling to get out and she had no doubt that they could, but for now they weren't going anywhere nor were they going to be doing anything under all that rock and earth. She stopped her dive and pulled up, floating a decent distance away from the cyclopes and above ground.

"Whatever you've got up your alley you better do it quick! Cause I don't think it's going to hold long!" She said. The spellbook that floated around her fluttered for a bit. "Oh you think?" She said sarcastically as if she was capable of holding conversation with magical books.

"And whatever it is you've got lined up it better pack a wallop!" She added.

Flying is so much fun! Disa laughed as Margaret took to the sky along side her. The mage with twin purple tails did not seem to be very amused, but she was surely enthusiastic about battle as much as the dragon slayer! It would seem as to be at least , for when she was in the air the girl immediately began to cast spells. The aura of excitement that thrumed in the air would heighten when the female saw with wide copper optics how her partner hurtled toward the earth and heard with enhanced ear drums that earth was being shouting. Maybe she would be able to eat it; unfortunate it was though , that Disa was distracted by the idea of now being able to attack since the enemies would be covered with dirt and rock.

What does a wallop mean?! Earth Dragon's Roar! the mage yelled as she curled up a little bit before letting out a roar that was full of crumbling earth, headed toward the cyclopes. It would hit one and continue going , crashing the body in to some other of the monsters. They would still be most in a group, and Disa would shout in succession , Earth Dragon's Might! Her body glowed red for a brief second and then two before a blinding light flashed around in the nearby area, though it would have most of an effect only on the hostile entities. At a same time, earth would fly towards the monsters and hit them in a sort of exploding bomb type, doing not a huge amount of damage. The mage was not able to stay close to her enemies this fighting, and she had other spells more with effect at a lesser space away.

You seem you will not move for quite a time, so best to strike now! Earth Dragon's Deceive! Eight perfect copies of Disa would emerge from her body and fall towards the ground, where they would land on the feet and charge toward the cyclopes. Each would attack and then explode in an attempt to deal more damage , until none remained. Then , since they were not fighting back in a very dangerous way at the time , the mage would come down to the ground with wings still on her back, with a knife and straight physical force. They were very sturdy to the physical attacks, it would seem, but she would still inflict a lot of damage because they were not able to fight back. She could not see any more moving underneath the dirt.

"Well, I think wallop means intense hard punch..." Margaret Elle floated idly in thought as the put her hand on her chin and hummed for a bit. "I guess it's just one of those words that people use without knowing what they mean...you know what I'm talking about," She paused to consider something before shrugging. "At least I hope that you do, else this conversation is going to be a bit awkward..." She cleared her throat awkwardly. "So anyways, nice job with the Cyclopses...or whatever is used to refer to a large number of them." She floated a bit higher off of the ground. "I'll go double check on the cyclo-one eyed monster thingies to see if they're done for."

She zoomed away for a few mere moments to inspect their handiwork on the cyclopes. They had really done a number on them and she had to give applause to Disa for finishing the rest while they were still disabled by her crumble. "Yep!" She called out to her partner. "They're definitely done for! Again, nice job!" She complimented and was about to fly off before she suddenly had to rocket backwards for she was suddenly surrounded by a multitude of two headed snakes. They had all tried to hit her with a thick purple smog that she decided was probably poison. "Disa I found more!" She called out as she weaved left and right before shooting up abruptly. "Tch. These snakes have poison smog! Be careful about that! They hurt a lot!" Elle warned as she felt her Soul Armor deplete instantly.

"So you think you got the drop on old Margaret Elle here? Well I have news for you snakes!" She pointed her scythe downwards at the clustered group of snakes. "I foresee a lot of fire in your future! SCORCH!"

A red magic circle manifested on the snakes before they were suddenly engulfed in Margaret's Scorch Spell. "Yes! Burn! Burn! BURN! YAHAHAHAAAHAH! Ahem..." She cleared her throat. "Sorry, I get a little spell crazy... anyways...I think we should kill them quickly and move on?" She took a deep calming breath. "Whew I should really start regulating how much magic I'm using. I've already blown through over a quarter of my energy pool..."

The mage would puzzle about Margaret's definition of the word wallop, but she soon had moved on to more thoughts of the fighting. Her breath was tight in her chest when the partner stepped close to the possible fallen Cyclopes ; if they were truly not dead , it would be her responsibility. Fortunately, the monsters were very done fighting back. It was a small triumphant feeling in her heart when the girl with purple hair gave kudos to Disa for some work well done. However, this would be cut short by the sudden onslaught of two headed snake monsters, which were having a purple fog that thickened with some poison. Noted, I will be careful! she replied to Margaret's warning of the snakes's cap abilities.

When the girl began to yell at the monsters, Disa only watched so that she would not make to interfere, lest she be injured by her ally attacks. When Margaret used a fire spell that the name even sounded very scary, Scorch , then she would begin to yell words that were giving a hint to pyromaniac tendencies at the certain times, the dragon slayer smiled awkwardly and took a step away out of the genuine caution. Fire was not a fond thing of the earth user , though it was a common ally against the worse element of water. You are right, she would say to Margaret in reply to concern the energy pool. I also have used a lot of magic power in this fight up now.

We must defeat the snakes , though.
With these words in the air, Disa would gather her energy and form eight more replicates of herself. She would send them at the snakes, though they would attack the bodies very quickly as soon as they formed. All were able to get their single attack off before it would be destroyed, and the damage was suitable rather enough especially as many could have the further additional melee attack and the mage would leap in to the snakes to fight and make some melee attacks. Her wounds were not very bad , but the snakes were dangerous opponents.

"Hey you alright there?" Margaret asked, concerned for her temporary partner. It wouldn't do well if she let her partner, even if it was just for this one job from the Magic Council, get seriously hurt, or worse, she might let her die. She floated up next to her. "Hey just say if you can't keep going okay? There's no shame in retreating." She reassured her.

To be truthful she did actually think that there was a tiny amount of shame in retreating but it goes on a case by case basis. She floated back down to the snakes and they all focused on her since she was the closest thing they could target and attack. They strange reptiles hissed at her and fired their poison and Margaret Elle evaded to the best of her abilities, leading and egging them on a wild chase.

Her actions caused the snakes to gather and bunch up together. She also had managed to trick them into firing their smog into each other, a feat that she was particularly proud of. Finally she landed and faced the rapidly approaching snakes with arms spread wide open as if she was welcoming them. She gave a small mischievous smile before she took a deep breath. "You aren't ready for this snake things." She announced as they drew nearer, slowly surrounding her. Once they got close enough she screamed out her spell. "TORRENTIAL PULSE!"

High pressured water erupted from around her and impacted against the two headed snakes, the spell feeding off of the remains of her Scorch spell and empowering it. The spell collided against the snakes temporarily halted their movement. That was enough for her to move her scythe and rush the snakes, spinning wildly through the monsters, cleaving them in half, spinning like a tornado and landing at least three hits with her weapon on each adversary. She stopped spinning once all the snakes were dead and collapsed on the ground.

"Tell me when the world stops spinning..."

Margaret Elle, that was very well .. done! Are you very all right? Disa would applaud her partner, carefully picking her way over to her through the mud and the ground which would be left on the earth from the mage's spell. Of course there would be no need to retreat ; the two had this situation perfectly handled. The brunette was ready to continue moving , but her thought process was interrupted when a large winged monster which was having a different many of body parts , landed nearby and charged toward her. Surprised from her mind, she could only put up a last resort stone skinned defense , which would block a part of the damage to be certain it was not significant health. Howevere, the monster's ram attack would nearly push the mage backwards towards a area she had no idea of. This was highly dangerous , since the girl would be able to fall off a cliff and unknowingly, so she would direct her entire strength to wrench her body to the side and away from momentum.

As soon as she would be away from immediate possibility of danger, Disa would look behind to see that the chimera had collided with another of the species. The one which would have been out of the girl's view, looking at her exposed back, had by accident bitten its partner because the bite had been ready for the unsuspecting mage. It was a good turn of events , similar to the snakes turning smog on each other earlier. However, the chimeras would seem to be very durable , because they were not taking the high damage from their own powerful hits. The girl would observe that a strange magic was expelling from the chimeras. It would do damage to the space around the animals, and the body of the chimeras was also being attacked by the magic. They did not seem to mind a great deal , however, because the direction of the magic would be towards Disa and Margaret.

Go! the mage would shout, even as she would run in the opposite direction from the chimeras. Behind her spot would emerge as a mirror image left behind in the eight dependable clones that she liked very much. Four would attack one chimera , while the others would seek out the second. After doing as much damage with physical attacks as they could manage, they would absorb the area attack of the monster so that it could not travel very far towards where Disa and Margaret currently were. Unfortunately, the taking of damage would not be sustainable, so the clones would explode a short time after. A safe distance away , but she would still not retreat because it was not necessary, Disa would check her injuries. They were not critical that she would need healing.

Margaret forced herself to stand up, temporarily using her trusty Grim Nemesis weapon as a crutch til she could finally hold herself steady on her feet. "Well thanks, although doing that spin move makes me dizzy." She accepted the compliment, dusting her clothes and wiping away the mud that got onto her. "Yeesh, I'm going to have to do some heavy duty laundry for this." She complained, motioning to her clothes. Shaking herself off, she hefted her scythe once more and took flight. She watched as a chimera charged her temporary partner and began to charge at her with a decent amount of strength towards another chimera. Just as she was about to warn her she deftly dodged, making the chimeras hit each other. "Nice dodge!" She yelled up as she got ready to charge the chimeras, targeting the one that seemed the weakest.

The chimeras turned to her and began to charge their roar attacks but that didn't faze Margaret's charge. The roar impacted her but was mitigate by her defenses, consuming her soul armor and her cloak taking brunt of the damage. With a sonorous warcry she buried her fist into one of the Chimeras, the healthier looking one, an attack she assisted with her Shock spell that dazed the Chimera into inaction. The other chimera's snake tail moved to bite her but her scythe quickly slashed down on it and deftly separated it from the chimera's body. The monster, in pain, started to move to ram and maul her only for her to use her weapon's spear form to bury itself into its stomach.

"I've had just about enough with you." She said with a stoic expression before the scythe blade of her weapon folded out inside the chimera and acted like a hook."GRAAAAGH!" She pulled on the scythe with tremendous force, ripping open the chimera and spilling its guts to the muddied ground below. Then still using the momentum from her attack, used it to bury the bloodied scythe-spear's scythe blade into the skull of the still dazed chimera. She panted, taking heavy breaths before yanking her weapon free. She contemplated something for a few moments before. "...Next."

The loud screeching announced the arrival of a Griffin, majestically beautiful and deadly in nature. It was accompanied by 2 Chimeras, 5 two headed snakes, and 12 Cyclops. "Hehehe..." Margaret Elle began to laugh quietly. "Coming with back up aren't you. That means that you're the one calling the shots here." She lifted her weapon and pointed at the Griffin. "That mean we just have to beat you...doesn't it?"

The sky suddenly darkened as dark clouds began to cover the area. "Severe Rainstorm." A large area around her was suddenly besieged by heavy rain.

More of you are here now. Is that good or bad? Disa would wonder with the narrowed eyes when the same monsters which the pair had defeated recently would reappear. They would seem to accompany a larger creature, a griffin. Owie! she suddenly would complain when a sharp pain had struck across her back. It was the shards of the enormous egg , now parting when the creature inside had decided to emerge.

    Spoiler:

A large dragon suddenly was sitting on top of the mage's shoulder, and the animal was a half the size of the girl. The weight was a amount that she was immediately going to sit down on the ground by force, but the dragon fortunately hopped off. I will deal with you later. Just pretend the dragon does not exist and did not just hatch out of this mysterious egg, she would command her mind to focus. Treant Summon and release ... DECEIVE! She would first summon a creature of the earth, who would send out a certain powder that would cause the monsters to take a increase in the amount of damage. Then with the greatest speed that she could try, Disa formed her eight clones and sent them flying at the new enemies. There were a number of the Chimeras and the Snakes that the clones were able to each land a hit , with one not being able to attack of any monster. They would block any spell returning damage and explode because of the amount, dealing more damage to the monsters and fairly knocking them out or killing the animals because they were already taking a lot of damage from her additional spells, as the Might and the Roar or Claws and the physical melee attacks. You are the only left now, the brunette would address the griffin with very watchful eyes. She did not know what tricks the monster had up his sleeve, for the clones had blocked any attacks or vision of the possible damages. However, it was not wanting to lie lazy while its companions would be killed. The monster had flown with great speed to the mage and had snatched the girl with his claws. He would carry her up very high in the sky and attempt to drop her; the claws would deal a lot of damage that would leave her bleeding and uncomfortable. She was still alive because she had used her spell of wings to not to collide into the ground. Still however, this battle felt as though it was becoming seriously dangerous, even if the griffin was closer to the level of the mages, it had owned the power to command the other monsters. The girl would be lower on offensive attacks from all that she had used to take the other monsters, but she would ready a healing spell if the other mage took a amount of damage.

"Well so much for all that." Margaret Elle sighed as she hefted her weapon's spear form started reeling back her arm to the point that it looked like she was about to throw her spear, which she was. She aimed at the griffin, which had noticed her preparation to use her weapon's ability, and gave it a small mischievous smile, feeling the thrill of battle, the thrill of an adventure. "Hey birdie." She began as the majestic monster swooped down at her with the intent to pick her up. "Eat spear." She threw her spear and it flew with fury, phasing through the griffin, marking it with a strange rune before flying back to Margaret's hand. She rolled to the side as the griffin reached her, avoiding its sharp talons and let loose a lightning bolt from her hand courtesy of her trusty spell Smite, impacting into its bird flesh.

"..." Margaret Elle suddenly became deathly quiet and still. "..." She took a long deep breathe through her nose as the griffin turned and released a wind blade that flew right for her. Margaret suddenly sidestepped it before kicking off the ground and flying after the griffin . "You smell delicious." Margaret announced as she engaged in aerial combat against the Griffin in the rain. Clashing against in razor talons, sharp beak, and wind magic. Blows were exchanged, feathers ruffled, hair tussled, clothing shredded, cuts and bruises made and healed both due to the efforts of her comrade and her weapon's healing power. With each blow she made she healed and hurt the griffin even more since she had marked it as her nemesis. The griffin charged at her and she flipped over him, she may not be faster but she was more maneuverable in the air. As the Griffin passed her she thrust her spear into its wind, poking a hole through it and making it screech in pain. But she wasn't done, the scythe blade unfurled and she did the same thing she had done to a chimera much earlier.

"Ngaaaaah!" With a sonorous warcry she tugged her weapon loose from the wing in a spatter of blood and feathers with great force and sent herself flying back several meters before she managed to stop herself. The Griffin wasn't faring any better, having one wing mostly torn off it spiraled to the ground and crashed, kicking up a small dust cloud that settled quickly.

Margaret would seem to have abandoned her spells to take up a weapon : a spear. It was an interesting tactic that the brunette wondered if she would be making a good decision to emulate. As the battle seemed to progress in to a one against one fight, the mage was asborbed in the attacks and defenses of her partner. There was a strange healing process which she was undergoing, combined with her rapid and skillful strikes with the spear. The only thing which bothered the dragon slayer a little bit was that she had made a remark on the smell of the griffin; Disa herself was having a rather keen sense of smell, but it did not pick up anything out of the ordinary of monsters. Nice job, Margaret! I'll do what I can, she would call, gathering up her strength again even after she had used a lot of magic power in attempts to fight off the monsters which had accompanied the griffin.

The treant earth summon would still be emitting the certain powder that would cause more damage of the two mages. She would wish to take advantage of this damage and summoned her trustworthy clones, except that now they would all focus their attacks on the griffin. The damage that they could take was enough that the mage herself would not come to any harm this turn, although the each of the newly made bodies would be able to damage and attack the boss just the same as its sister clone. She also would jump in to the battle with a knife in her hand, to copy the partner mage and attack with all of her last energy and make dozens of melee attacks and combined with her clones, a great deal of damage. She was able to attack a lot because the griffin was distracted with the destroying of her clones. When Disa decided to give out all of her effort, she would cause all of the remaining clones to explode at a extremely close range to the griffin, so that the splash damage would greatly wound the monster and it had taken the damage from the clones which it had attacked itself already. This would also apply a slowing magic that may reduce the animal's moving, in the case that Margaret would require to also do additional damage in order to finally defeat the creature. However, she was not really able to see more moving around; the animal could be a pretender and that must be kept in mind, so she was cautious for it.

When she had watched the griffin on the ground for a rather long time with no of moving, Disa would decide that it was dead. Her energy was very exhausted at this point, however she was still in very high spirits. Well done, Margaret! she would congratulate her partner very quickly because she was wanting to go home with the new born dragon. Since the brunette was not knowing when the magic council expected any the hired mages to finish killing the monsters, she decided that it would be best simply to head to her home and wait for rather more correspondence. Thank you very much! the mage would say to the other girl one final time, and she would bow her head in a gesture of gratitude for the help and assistance. Alone, she probably would have been killed by the monsters by her charging in alone.

"Yeah, good job to you too, couldn't have lasted that long against all these monsters, I'm about halfway through my magic...you and your dragon friend enjoy yourselves, I think we're pretty much done here." Margaret complimented. She watched her comrade slowly leave before she turned her attention towards the downed Griffin and floated down towards it, landing softly next to its head and giving it a few taps with the butt of her weapon. When it didn't move she gave its head a swift kick for good measure before taking one leg and trying to lift it up. With leg on her shoulder she began to tug the carcass back towards the mass teleporter. 'Hey, it's part bird so it's probably good to eat.' She reasoned in her mind as she slowly made her way back. She was curious what the griffin would taste like but she was sure it smelled delicious from her use of lightning magic earlier.

She hummed to herself as she looked forward to feasting on griffin that night.
