It had been sometime since Aliarey had dealt with the strange occurrence on the shore of Hargeon. So much so that she had nearly forgotten all about the incident entirely. However, one day while in Talonia someone she saw often in the black market scene relayed some information about another strange incident similar to the one before. Once again payment was being offered to investigate the mystery behind the event and deal with the creatures acting up. Considering she had handled it before she saw no reason to skip out on a a paying job. Except for maybe the fact the event always happened near the water. That was a major problem. Her fear of being around larger bodies of water was quite a nuisance for jobs such as the current one. Nevertheless, she planned to accept the job and mentally stored the details. The location? Lavanitir Port City. Lovely.

With some travel time Aliarey had made it to Lavanitir and already she wished the trip there had taken longer. There was water everywhere and she was rather tense and anxious. "Okay, just gotta get it together. Get it together." She chanted out loud to herself, paying no mind to the stares of the people around her as she walked along the docks. So focused was she with calming down her nerves that she did not take notice of a man that was approaching from behind. He caught up with the speed of her walk and gently tapped her on the shoulder. The sudden touch caused Aliarey to nearly have a heart attack as her body jumped up in shock and she let out a surprised yelp. The outburst also caused the man to shout but he regained his composure far quicker than the mage that nearly fell off the edge of the docks and only remained above water due to grabbing onto a nearby wooden pole and hanging onto it for dear life.
"Haven't seen you around here before. Are you here to deal with all the random water creature attacks we've been having lately?"
Aliarey's heart started to slow down its rapid pace and her mind stopped juggling random thoughts that allowed her to take a breath and calm down. Her balance regained, she let go of the wooden post that had saved her life from the liquid horror that was the surrounding water and placed her hands on her hips as she glared at the man that had surprised her. "Depends. Are you trying to kill me?!"
The man smiled lightly but did not apologize. If he wasn't so concerned about the guns she carried he likely would have laughed. "There's nothing down there that will kill you. All of the sea life has gathered over down there." The man pointed a hand towards the direction that led past the docks and to a small coastal area with no buildings. "If you're here to take care of them, then that's where you need to go." He gave a nod to Aliarey and then left to return to his own daily activities.
Now with some clear information on where she had to go, Aliarey made her way to the sandy clearing where she stumbled upon a congregation of frogs. They were loud but seemed to not be much of a threat. She was about to just ignore them entirely when one of the frogs jumped at her and hit her in the leg lightly. A boot nudged it away but another frog came and did the same thing. And then another. And another. Eventually the whole group of ten frogs would not leave her alone what so ever even as she walked past them. It would seemed she would have to show no mercy to the small creatures. She kicked one, sending it sailing into the water. Others were picked up and thrown like skipping stones. Annoying things.
Her investigation continued undisturbed for a time before she came upon five pointed large structures resting in the sand. They looked kind of like shells, but what creature uses a shell that big? None she knew of. She got closer to one of them and knocked on its surface. The requip mage wasn't really sure what she was expecting but large pincers of a giant crab was not it. The crab within partially came out of its shell and snapped at the woman standing in front of it with its pincer. Aliarey jumped back in time but she was still quite surprised that a hermit crab could get so big, let alone five of them. The other four awakened from their slumber in a lazy manner but once they noticed her they went into attack mode. With their protective shells she doubted she could do much damage to them on her own. Her attacks would have to be well executed and her aim true in order to attack the weaker spots of the crabs. Naturally she went for the two black eyes each crab had. She switched into her Outlaw spell armor and then drew her normal pistols before firing at the eyes of each crab and blinding them. This confused the creatures as they scrambled about in pain and ran into each other. As they collided the crabs attacked and weakened each other. Figuring they would finish themselves off or die naturally eventually, Aliarey left the small group of crabs and continued.

"Oh, come on!" Aliarey face palmed as she ran into yet another group of crazed frogs, this group being even more obnoxious than the other. Who allowed such annoying things to breed? Like with the first group she kicked them away or picked them up and threw them. How fortunate that they were not giant sized or she would not be getting any practice at all with tossing things across the water and getting it to skip. If she ran into anymore she was just going to shoot them dead.
Soon, a familiar set of massive shells was within her sights and she could only sigh. What a bother. The crabs within were dormant for now, but she might as well take care of them while she was there in order to clear out the dangerous creature population. She took the time to manually reload her pistols before messing with the sleeping creatures and once done she fired a shot at each one, the bullets bouncing off of their shells and causing no damage. The impact did as she expected and the creatures stirred, revealing their true forms that was hiding in the shells. In much the same way as before, the crabs were dealt with by being blinded with having their eyes shot, but for good measure she also shot at the other exposed parts to weaken them further. As of yet, nothing too dangerous seemed to be within the area.

What was with all the giant hermit crabs?! Aliarey had just got done leaving the last set of them only to come across a gathering of ten of the damn things. Whatever was behind the strange shoreline problems had a thing for crustaceans. She gritted her teeth, trying to keep herself calm despite the rather annoying turn of events. The whole trip was pointless. There was nothing at the port city shoreline but frogs and crabs and as such once again the whole thing would remain a mystery. She couldn't even tell if it was connected to the last one considering nothing was exactly beached like the sharks and whales back in Hargeon. Well at least she would still get paid just for cleaning up the beach. Which meant she could not just ignore the set of ten dormant hermit crabs sleeping within their shells on the sand.
Deciding she was far too lazy to deal with them any other way, she would just use her auto turret guns to deal some damage and go from there. She summoned her usual mini turret disc from her personal storage and with a flash of light it appeared within her gloved right hand. A toss on the ground later and it had formed into her favorite weapon, a mini gatling turret. It then replicated three times to create more and soon four small turrets were firing their projectile assault on the hermit crabs. The impact on their shells awakened them from their slumber as it did the crabs before but they could not move much without getting hit by some of the magical bullets.
Aliarey backed away from her turrets and allowed them to do their work, but it would seem it would not be enough. Several of the crabs still remained and her turrets disappeared one by one in a small explosion, having used up all their ammo and expiring. She scratched the side of her head with the end barrel of her pistol, contemplating what to do now. Her enemies were slow moving and took their time so she had plenty of time to think.
The crabs were water creatures, right? Some video game she played a while back told lighting attacks were super effective against water. That was a game though, not life. Well, she wasn't one to think too long about such details. It was worth a try and if worse comes to worse she'd just do what she did before. Her normal pistols were replaced with her Laser Tasers, a set of pistols that sent a lightning jolt projectile within each shot. She shot one crab to test it out and while it seemed to do more damage than her normal pistol shots it was not at the strength she was hoping for. More work would be required. Aliarey continued shooting until only two shots remained within each gun and only one crab remained on the field. Combining the energy from the leftover ammo, Aliarey used the weapon's ability and shot out an electrical beam towards the remaining hermit crab, frying it.
The port shoreline had been cleared of enemies. Now all she had to do was collect her payment and hope another shoreline issue did not arise.
