Hunting for Sashimi(Lucius/Zoey)

Lucius was well on his way to the Hargeon Port to try and hunt for some... Sashimi? he doesn't even know what that is. He's assuming it's some type of fish as it's supposedly a type of food they have to deliver to the mayor. He was accompanied by another mage who is supposedly strong, but that didn't matter. Lucius wanted to go on a quest for knowledge, to discover the secrets of magic... and he's hunting after fish, what the hell was the guild thinking?

And thus Zoey left on an heroic quest... to fetch Sashimi. Still that wasn't the reason Zoey went on this request. She heard from someone that a new member needed to be shown how being in a mages guild worked. When nobody wanted to do the job Zoey was volunteered for the job. Not that she had been the guild for a long time and she barely knew anyone except the guild master and that one guy that seemed to be terrified of her for one reason, but oh well.

At least they weren't going to go fight big monsters. That would certainly be something she wouldn't want to experience in the near future. If it was just catching fish and prepare it then she could do that just fine.

She arrived in the local port and scouted a bit around. Since it was in the middle of the day there weren't many people aside from the sailors. One guy with weird eyes immediately stood out. She saw Lamia Scale's guild mark on his hand so that was probably the new member she was supposed to meet up with. Her own was clearly visible on her left shoulder. Of course she took out something that would reveal her mark so that person could identify her.

"eh... are you our new member?" Zoey asked hesitatingly.

Lucius continued to just walk despite hearing what Zoey asked, it may seem rude or arrogant, but he just wanted to finish this job. However, when he ignored her, he heard a voice inside his head. "Lucius... come on, don't be like that." Lucius showed a surprised look, but then when he heard the voice fully, it was his spirit that he occasionally called on. "Oh, it's you. What do you want old man?" Lucius said in his head, assuming that the old man was telepathically talking to Lucius. "Don't shut her off, it's clear she's trying to start a conversation with you." Lucius then said "But you know I'm no good at small talk..." then, a reply soon came after saying "And you aren't going to get any better if you don't try, now, talk to her." Lucius then stopped halfway and faced the girl.

"Yeah, I'm the new guy." Lucius said, replying to the girl now. "I was forced to do this job basically, because somebody at the guild wasn't happy about how I was freeloading apparently. So, here we are." he then continued his walking pace towards the port, it seems they were starting to get close. "Right, so is there anything else you want to ask?"

Zoey tilted her head a little as the guy walked by. She really hoped he wasn't one of those silent types... cause if he was then this would be a silent day indeed.

"I see..." She said without going further in on that. Personally she understood that completely but she didn't want to go further in and risk upsetting someone she just met. He didn't seemed all that thrilled to work with her, so she was a little afraid if she'd push him away even more.

"Anyway, My name is Zoey. Pleased to meet you." She introduced herself quickly after she noticed she'd forgot to do that earlier. She waited for the boy to introduce himself as well before continuing.

"The job says we have to fish, so we'll better get some rods... Or maybe harpoons would be better?  Have you ever fished before?" Zoey asked as she walked towards the mayor some place they could rend supplies for a day. Luckily this was at the port as well, since that's where most fishermen lived or at least worked. Zoey didn't really knew what fish was required for Sashimi, but she knew multiple fish could be used. So they should just capture what they could and hope that was good enough. If not there would always be tomorrow?

Lucius kept walking down along to the port with Zoey, and heard about whether they should get rods or harpoons. He replied to say "Yeah, we should have one of each just in-case. Otherwise, I was planning of just dropping a gravity well in the water, pushing away most of the water and crushing any fish for us to catch. At least that's just my theory, I haven't actually fished before." as he continued he realized that sounded really weird out of context, "Right... I use gravity magic, I can increase or decrease gravity in certain spaces." he then explained. It seems that they managed to reach the port. There were a couple of fisherman about, a lot of them actually. A few stores and stands offered the tools for which they were looking for.

"Did you want to get the tools? I'll see if I can get us a boat or find a good fishing spot." he asked the girl, while this might've been a simple job, he might learn a thing or two out on this job and that might be with this partner he was assigned with.

"That sounds really useful." She then paused a bit, uncertain to continue. But eventually did. "Well I'am not an expert on how Gravity works so we could try that." Worst case scenario they'd scare away some fish, right? Then again she wasn't didn't really knew what for effects that changing the gravity would have on water at all, so it wasn't like she could imagine what would happen.

"alright, let's meet up here when we're done." Zoey said as she left for the various stores. It didn't took the girl long to find a few harpoons a rod and some bait to use. After about a 20 minutes of walking and looking around the shops she managed to arrive back at the promised spot with the supplies. She put down the rods and harpoons and looked around to see if she could find her partner already.

Lucius went around the ports to find a good fishing spot, while a majority of fishing spots were taken, it seems one was free for use, so he headed back to meet Zoey at the spot that she wanted to meet, seeing her there with the tools they needed to fish for the job, he then pointed into the direction of where their fishing spot was. As they were walking along, Lucius said "We'll try and fish the normal way, if it takes too long I'll try my gravity magic on the water." while this was a bit of a simple and maybe boring job, maybe it wasn't so bad to go out every once in a while.

Lucius sat down when they reached the fishing spot, and grabbed one of the harpoons that Zoey bought, he honestly had no fishing experience, he assumed that as soon as he saw a fish, he would throw the harpoon at them and then grab them.

"We'll see if that works." Zoey said as she handed the new guy his part of the gear. It wasn't that heavy, but it was a pain to carry it all. As she followed her partner to the fishing spot she could see that other fishermen were also busy, both at the multiple piers and on the boats on the sea.

"Now let's see if this works." Zoey said as she grabbed one of the fishing rods and took out the pocked in which the bait was. Which was full of bugs. Surprisingly they were still alive. Guess dead bugs weren't that tasty for the fishes. She grabbed one of them and put them on the hook. She felt for the creatures, but that was how nature worked.

For Zoey fishing went slowly. Ever now and then something would bite, but this pace was certainly a slow pace. She didn't think they could impress the major like this. Maybe her comrade had more success?

"And? How's it going on your end?" Zoey asked after a while.

Lucius had attempted a few throws at the water with the harpoon he grabbed, but to no avail. It was very slow going, a chain was attached to the harpoon which he used to bring it back up after each throw, but he had caught nothing. He chucked the harpoon to the ground, and after being asked on how he was doing, he said "Not very well. Haven't caught one yet, but I have an idea."

He then started to aim his hand at the water, and waited for a fish to come into sight from what he could see into the water. He wasn't going to push gravity into the water as he believes he could potentially kill the very fish he's trying to catch, so he decided to use his gravity pull. He can pull any object from a distance and he believes a fish would be no different. After slightly seeing something move in the water, he activated his gravity pull as fast as he could, and soon enough it pulled out a fish straight from the water and it flew straight at Lucius.

He was holding it down as it was flapping around, but he managed to successfully push it down, he had to hold it down until it stopped breathing. "There we go... could you catch the second fish for us? if you can, otherwise I'll see if I can do something else to get the last one."

"Give me a second." Zoey said as she finished reeling in another fish while the boy pulled the fishes out of the water with her magic. With hands she certainly couldn't catch a fish right now. She concentrated on her magic as a magic circle formed from under her. As the magic started to form vines would appear near the fish to catch it and wrap themselves around it.

Slippery as it's skin was the thorns in the vines made sure the fish couldn't escape that easy as they stuck a bit inside the fishes skin. Sure it was stuck there Zoey quickly put her strength back on the rod as she reeled in the fish that was pulling it from there. As soon as both were pulled up she put them inside their bucked with the rest.

"That's a good idea!" Zoey said after she was finished with both her fishes. She left out a sigh. Concentrating on both of them was pretty tiring. They'd probably could have coordinated that a little better, but the plan in itself was good.

It seemed that they caught all the fish they needed for the job, from what Lucius remembered from the job, they have to give the fish they caught to the house of the mayor, assuming that they don't have to cook it or anything. He said "Nice job Zoey, it looks like were done here. We should go to the mayor's place now and hand these in."

And so he started walking there, assuming that Zoey was following along he got to the front of the mayor's house, waiting on Zoey's word or opinion to how they would hand it in.
