A blissful walk [Aegis and Erza]

It was a beautiful day. The sun was shining, the birds were singing and an air of cheerfulness could be felt all over Hargeon town, of which the park was no exception, but somewhere among the warm gamma of welcoming colours a contrasting figure could be found, sat on one of the many benches.
Aegis at a lush park. That was something, which could not be ignored, no matter how hard one tried but the knight was too busy looking forward to what was going to happen notice just how much his usual blue-themed attire made him stand out, even though he was not wearing his gauntlet at that time, and besides, there weren't many people around where he was. But to him that was irrelevant. He was only thinking about the person whom he was waiting for.

As Erza neared the park where she had to meet Aegis, she became a little nervous. It was not like she had not been with him before or that she didn't know him well. It was just that she had always been with him on missions and not on walks. In missions, you are too focused with the things in hand, and you don't give attention to small details as there are many things to distract you from them. But in walks, they don't apply.

She entered the garden and after a few minutes of walking, she saw the blue figure of the person she was searching for. Erza was sure that the person was Aegis because he was always dressed in blue, and his blue hair and eyes made him stand out in front of many people. The park was mostly ematy except for some old people and kids here and there. If anyone wanted, they could easily find a deserted place in this huge place. She walked towards the guy who was sitting on a bench with his head turned to the other side, in such a way that he couldn't see Erza approach him. She crept up to him softly, sure that there was no sound of her feet making the grass below rustle. And she placed her hands on his eyes, meaning to surprise him. A few giggles escaped her mouth, even though she tried to stiffle them.

Looking off to the side, Aegis was watching as a few children were playing in the distance. He always found it fun to watch kids as they mess with eachother, as it brought him fun memmories and made him generally happy. But it also tended to distract him.
As he was enjoying the view two hands appeared from behind him, covering his eyes.
"Oh ?"
A cute giggle.
"This is troubling. I was just thinking about taking a quick nap while I wait and the sun turned itself off." - joked the blue knight with a smile he could not hide even if he wanted to.
Gently grabbing his "unknown" assailant's arms slightly below the elbow, he pulled them a little forward and tilted his head backwards, getting to see her face in doing so, since her head was higher than his due to the fact he was still sitting on the bench.
"Hey there, sneaky." - said he, still keeping his carefree smile.

"This is troubling. I was just thinking about taking a quick nap while I wait and the sun turned itself off."
"Not the sun, its me." said Erza just trying to riddle the guy. But in her mind she knew that he would have already recognised the person with her voice. She smiled, as Erza was about to ask him who she was; Aegis grabbed her hand a little below the elbow and pulled her forward which caused her hands to be removed from his eyes. Turning his head back a little, Aegis said with a carefree smile on his face, "Hey there, sneaky."

"Hey! We are meeting after a long time aren't we? I missed you..." said Erza, smiling in return and blushing a bit after saying the last sentence. Trying to ignore what she had done just now, Erza sat beside Aegis on the bench.

"Hey! We are meeting after a long time aren't we? I missed you..."
That was her cheerful reply, accompanied by a slight blush, which made Aegis laugh lightly.
"Yup. Well I guess it depends on your definition of long, but it did feel like eternity." - said the knight as he watched the person he adored so much sit next to him.
"But I'm happy we do finally get to see eachother." - added he while looking Erza in the eyes with happiness written all over his face, but that was probably a bad move. Why? Because he never considered the fact he would not be able to look away. She had really beautiful black eyes which he could not help but be captivated by. In a situation like that, the blue knight could not help but say what was on his mind.
"I wonder if it's possible to go blind because of watching something beautiful for too long. That'd be bad, I'd hate to go blind on such a lovely day."
There was a decent chance he might have blushed a little when he said that but it's not like he could help it anyway. He liked saying what was on his mind and faced with someone so disarmingly beautiful he couldn't say anything other than that even if he tried to.

"I wonder if it's possible to go blind because of watching something beautiful for too long. That'd be bad, I'd hate to go blind on such a lovely day." saying that the guy had a little red on his cheeks. Erza wondered the meaning of the words he said, what did he mean by 'going blind by seeing something beautiful'?

"What do you mean? I mean, what's the beautiful thing that you are talking about?" Erza asked. And as she did that, her face looked like she was in utter distress with a simple question. Before he could reply, Erza caught him by the hand and standing, pulled him up too. "Come, I'll show you something that's truly beautiful. I've come to this place once before and I found out a wonderful place by chance, its quite empty there." And saying this she started walking towards the place which's direction she would never forget.

"What do you mean? I mean, what's the beautiful thing that you are talking about?"
A question Aegis was definately not expecting. Well, he wasn't really expecting anything as he spoke without thinking much but still, that was probably the one reaction he was least prepared for. There was just something about the innocent way she managed to not notice what the knight meant that just caught him completely off-guard. Luckily, she didn't give him any time to do anything, as she suddenly stood up and caught him by the hand, pulling him up.

"Oh? Hehe, alright then, lead the way." - said Aegis while laughing lightly. Hearing about a beautiful-yet-empty place piqued his curiousity, though he didn't get much of a chance to try and imagine it as Erza had already started walking towards it, meaning he was falling behind even from the starting line. 'For her to go off so quickly, it must be a really wonderful place.' - thought he before making a light jog to catch up to her.
"When I said "lead the way" I didn't quite have "disappear into the distance" in mind, you know." - joked the knight as he reached Erza and continued to walk alongside her.

With a few minutes of walking more, Erza had already led Aegis to the place she wanted him to see. It was bigger than a pond and smaller than a lake perhaps, it was surrounded by beautiful round pebbles of different sizes and the water in there was crystal clear. When Erza had first visited this place she found it by accident. Since then she had always been looking for a chance to come here. Looking back she saw Aegis a little far on the small mound of grass behind her. She smiled looking at him and knew that he must be a little confused about her walking so fast to this place.
Coming to the shallow part of water Erza removed her shoes nearby and sat on the dry pebbles and placing her feet in the water. She turned back and saw Aegis was already there.

Running several times along the way, Erza seemed like she was keen on leaving the knight behind and quite frankly, she was succeeding.
Feeling a little out-of-breath, the blue knight stopped running after her and merely continued walking after the overly enthusiastic girl.

Soon after her figure stopped about 10 metres ahead of Aegis, near what appeared to be - "A pond? That's odd, I didn't know there were any ponds here."
As he closed the distance between himself and his overly impatient companion, Aegis noticed she took off her shoes and sat on the fittingly-round stones scattered around, dipping her small feet in the shallow water.
"Ah, so this is the place you made me run after you for."- said the knight in a joking manner while walking the few metres left towards Erza. But despite joking, he kept his calm voice. There was a very special kind of calmness in that place and he didn't want to ruin it.

Walking over to the left of Erza, the knight kneeled down while facing the water and untied the laces of his boots before freeing his toes from the confines of the combat boots he wore. Then he sat down next to the girl who was looking at him oh-so keenly earlier. Following her example, he dipped his feet in the water getting his trousers wet near the end, though he didn't really care much.
"This place really has a special kind of tranquility to it." - said Aegis as he leaned back and laid down on the ground, putting his hands behind his head and staring at the clear blue sky.
Shifting his gaze towards the still sitting Erza next to him, the knight put on a relaxed, carefree smile and spoke to her while patting the ground next to himself.
"You don't plan on remaining like that, right? Come on, don't be shy, lie down next to me. You're missing out on the beautiful sky."

She glanced at him and nudged him in the stomach with her hand saying, "Well, first of all I've got utterly no reason to be shy and second of all I was planning on lying down too."

As she laid down beside Aegis she blushed to herself and looked at the sky above. He was right the sky was a pretty blue and went nicely together with the silence of the lake.
