Job Title: The Philosopher's Stone
Rank: B
Player Requirements: Must be a member of Fairy Tail. May bring a partner with you, but they must be a guildmate.
Job Requirements: 8000 words. Must roll 4 Monster Dice and defeat the Boss.
Job Location: Bellum (Crystal Cliff Town)
Job Description: The nation of Bellum, a nation where Magic Rules and if you are not a HUMAN wizard, you are treated like less than; or made a servant of some kind. The nation hasn't made any real moves, as they are very picky about who they let into and out of their nation. The magic of the land itself repairs any damage to broken buildings or objects; so there is no need for infrastructure or billing concerns for the nation. Ruled by the might Archmages. Official mayors of each town. Suspicious activity however, has drawn attention to the nation.
One of the Archmages; the leaders of Bellum--has had a suspicion that one of their Magi has been abducting non wizards, and mundanes from across the globe in order to test his new Magic Serum on them. A potion that can bless someone who wasn't born a Mage with Magic.
This potion would be excellent for Bellum's National agenda and plans as a whole, except for the fact the potion doesn't work and that odd screams have been heard from this Magi's house; before they draw silent. Apparently, a rumour has leaked out that those who are forced to drink the potion go insane within 10 minutes of having Magic; as their mind is destroyed utterly by the overload of Magic in their bodies. Becoming nothing more than zombied thralls, who are kept locked up in the Magi's house, which also doubles as his experimental compound; or disposed of. The Archmage tells you that the wizard in question, Master Rock--is in possession of the Philosopher's Stone. One of the lost national treasures of Bellum. Though to be lost eons ago, back when Bellum and Pergrande were first being established as nations of their own. Before Fiore, and some of the others existed as nations. Only Seven was around during that time. An item; a red crystal said to allow you to manipulate the force of Life and Soul. Master Rock came into possession of it when he discovered a bookcase that had a hidden compartment in it in the College of Alchemy. It had been hidden there long ago. An item to powerful to be wielded by any single man or woman. It is rumoured that even Gods and Demon Lords struggled to control the power of this mythical stone.
Your Guildmaster has sent you to assist the Archmage of Crystal Cliff Town to make sure that this is just a rumor and nothing more and if it is true, to secure the Philosopher's Stone for Bellum, to get Fairy Tail on great terms with an entire foreign country if possible. This is a personal Job Request from the Archmage of Crystal Cliff Town.
Find it in Rock's Lab; and return it to the Archmage of Crystal Cliff Town.
Enemies:
Weak: Lab Guard Magi x5 - Wizards who use Lightning Magic and Water Magic. They have been hired by the Magi in question to patrol his house day and night in different shifts. They aren't the toughest Bellum has to offer; but they have been using their Lightning and Water magicks since they were young, and are very practiced at them. Takes 2 hits of C-Ranked damage each. Or 1 hit of B-Ranked damage to down each one.
Normal: Failed Experiment x10 - A regular human who drank the Magic Serum in order to try and gain magic. He has lost his free will and ability to think rationally; barely even being able to speak. They wield uncontrollable bursts of Wave Magic, that can distort or destroy B-Ranked spells if hit directly. They also have a pretty nasty knockback effect. Although they literally have no skill with their Magic; and will aim it wildly without really paying attention to their opponent. Takes 4 hits of C-Ranked damage or 2 hits of B-Ranked damage to down them.
Strong: Psychotic Failed Experiment x3 - This regular human who drank the Magic Serum, drank a double dose; in hopes of becoming a more powerful mage than most. It worked to an extent; at the full cost of his sanity and soul. This enemies rage and madness knows no limits; as he rambles on and on about the power he's acquired, yelling and screaming nothing in general. He wields all four elements, Fire, Water, Air, and Earth; although he has no control of these elements and likely will destroy the entire manor; and spill into Crystal Cliff Town if you're not careful. Takes 6 hits of C-Ranked damage or 4 hits of B-Ranked damage to take down these crazed zombies of Magic.
Boss: Master Rock - A Magi from Bellum who specializes in Alchemy, and altering the properties of the body and soul. He is an average height man, with tattoos of alchemy symbols going down both arms, spiky black hair, and a long dark blue overcoat. He is a master of Spirit Magic, and will summon B-Ranked Ghosts and Wraiths to combat you. He is also very skilled with Earth Magic, as his name portrays clearly. He uses this Magic on an A-Ranked scale, and using anything of less scale against him will be very difficult. He is the one who created the Magic Serum; and although it has failed, he refuses to admit it. He will call off his minions and fight you personally when he does appear. Takes 12 hits of C-Ranked damage, or 6 hits of B-Ranked damage to defeat this Master Magi of the Earth and Soul. When you defeat him, you find the Philosopher's Stone as it tumbles out of his jacket and onto the floor when he is defeated.
Reward: You and the guild have befriended one of the Archmages of Bellum for returning the Philosopher's Stone, and 12,000j. Keeping the Philosopher's Stone will result in failure of the Job immediately.

Haru stood in the gardens of the College of Alchemy. Students going too and fro were staring at he and his three fellow mages from his guild; Fairy Tail. None of them were rude enough to stop and say anything, but they definitely noticed some new people on the college grounds.
There were magical fountains spread out amongst the walkways, and benches as students went between classes. Crystal Cliff was a very busy city indeed. In Bellum, everything was ran by magic---and those without magic were treated as servants or second class citizens, even slaves sometimes. Anything broken, even a window; fixed itself by magic here in this country. The country itself was big enough to fit at least 10 Fiore's in it; and like them, they produced some of the strongest mages in the world. Although here they called them "magi" instead. Potato, Patato is what Haru thought.
In Fiore, mages used magic to help regular humans. Here....not so much.
"Tsk....this waiting is so annoying." the sixteen year old said with his arms crossed. Rose would swish her tail around as she sat on his shoulder and nod in agreement for once.
"Yeah it's like been an hour or something." she said as her ear twitched and tail stopped moving. "But someone's coming now look." she said pointing with a paw up ahead. As she did, a man with long flowing robes like Dumbledore would step out of the front of the school, coming down the main stairs flanked by two more magi it looked like. When he got to the base of the stairs he looked upon them with a small smile and a look of relief.
"Ah.....Fairy Tail accepted the job I sent them then." he said as he turned and paced in front of them. "We're...having trouble here in Crystal Cliff. One of our alchemists...he's invented something that well...would pretty much ruin us." he sighed as he paced, putting his hands behind his back. "He's created a potion that makes regular humans into mages...." he shook his head to himself.
As he said this Rose and Haru both looked at one another, the exceed upon his shoulder.
"That's impossible." Haru said plainly as he raised an eyebrow. Rose would nod in agreement.
"Naturally...yes it is. But with a little unnatural influence." he sighed again. "However....there have been reports of insane like screams and statements being yelled from Master Rock's mansion. He has a lab underneath his house that would make even the ones in Bosco jealous....ok maybe that's a stretch but you know what I'm saying." he then looked to Itova. "What a magnificent beast, I thought your kind had all gone extinct after the old war." he smiled in her direction. Then he looked to Mura. "I've seen your face before.....but you were much younger then." Afterward he settled on Haru. "........Would you by chance be related too...no that's impossible." with a shrug he would sigh.
"Well...he'll have no shortage of volunteers in these parts with the way citizens without magic are treated....." Rose mumbled under her breath.
"I'm sorry, did you say something magnificent Exceed of legend? It's an honor to actually meet one of your kind." he said as he moved closer to Rose. She then waved her paws innocently and smiled fakely. Rolling his eyes, Haru would speak next.
"So what is it you want us to do exactly....free the people he's testing the potion out on? Is he holding them hostage?" Haru asked directly. Shaking his head, Haru looked confused at his reply.
"He's using our national treasure, I'm sure of it. No way that potion was made without it. The Philospher's Stone." as he said this, Haru got excited. He'd read about that in his Mom's books. Apparently it was a source of unlimited magic that could be used to bless other objects, or even people with magic as long as they held the stone in their possession.
"So it's real...." Haru said to himself. As he turned to Mura and Itova with a nod. "Well then, I guess we've got to bring it back."
"Yes, it belongs in the Arcane Vault. It's gone missing but we can't reveal that to our military. Only the Archmages, the heads of each town. Know about it. If we can get it back before anyone finds out...we could prevent a possible war, since we'll probably blame the nearest country we can and invade. Funny..when it's one of our own that's the culprit....Master Rock's house is on the west side of town, golden gates, stone fences; you can't miss it."

Huh… this College brought back bad memories. Last time that the shaman had been here, he was treated poorly due to his lack of skill in magic back then. Apparently, one’s place in the hierarchy in this confused land was decided through one’s magical prowess. How he wanted to brag a little and grow a literal world tree in the middle of the college just for views…
He didn’t bother the waiting as much as Haru and Rose did. Along with the feathery dragon Itova, the four of them had gone to Bellum - the magic world of extra magic - to take upon a request from one of Bellum’s inhabitants. If you moved your eyes towards his direction, Mura would be floating above the ground and resting without having to lose his temper ever so slowly by waiting on his toes. It was a pleasant wait as it had been quite silent for the most part, until an elder magi approached them. He looked like one of the College’s more prominent wizards and instructors. He hesitated not in telling them the issue that caused him to request them all the way from Fiore; an investment… with a ruining outcome.
An item that turned humans into wizards… at first, that sounded rather dry, because the shaman hadn’t fathomed the danger in such a possibility. Rather, it felt like a child’s wish. Illogical. However, it only appeared to be worse than just that - insanity followed. Great, it had side-effects. And the Philosopher’s Stone… that was the first time that Mura had heard of such an artifact. It was a wonder to think about given its name and hidden meanings behind such a name.
“Oh well, it sounds easy enough,” he commented after the Archmage had finished. They were going to retrieve this Philosopher’s Stone and prevent further breakdowns, and most things went smoothly for the shaman… until he realized something…
“… Where’s Kyuken?”
“No clue…”
A green dragon head the size of a dodgeball would appear - Zirconis, a jade-like dragon from a millennia ago - making the group consist of two humans, an exceed, and two dragons…
