    New Genesis Empty New Genesis

Post by Morning Star 13th June 2017, 5:31 pm

    Details:

Hey... um... Look, my name's Lexa and I need some help. I was checking around the Ancient Ruins after one of my jobs, and I found.... something. I can't go through the tunnels on my own because the enemies are a bit much. So if you'll assist me in taking them out I'd be sure to give you something!" ~Lexa Grimoire

Morning Star read the letter again and frowned. How did she know who he was or where he was staying to begin with? This wasn't a job for Black Sails or the West Fiore Trading Company, no this was a personal job now. Someone had figured out who he was and had requested him personally, so far as he knew. Morning Star grabbed up his Morpher and headed out for the ruins detailed in the rest of the letter. He couldn't help but wonder if anyone else had been contacted? Was this some sort of strange trap to lure lower ranked Wizards in to destroy them? It was hard to say but one thing was sure, Morning Star intended to find out what was what....

After days of traveling and getting lost (More than once) The Pirate Wizard wandered up a hill and looked down on a set of ruins that seemed to lead under ground. At the base of the hill were two women, one was very beautiful, close to his age and the other was a child who was taller than she maybe should have been. "Well if this is a trap, at least I get to die at the hands of a beautiful woman." Morning Star joked and made his way down the grassy hill towards the ruins. Once at the bottom he held up the note and looked at the ladies. "Someone ordered a Morning Star?" He looked longingly at the taller and slightly older woman and grinned. "Please tell me it was you." The smaller girl stood up and kicked Morning Star in the shin hard! He jumped up on a foot and glared at the girl. "I'm beautiful too! I called both of you over here! So can we get down to brass tacks!?"

The girl in the skirt with boots and gloves reached into her bag and pulled out a black bar about the size of some candy stick. "So this is the key to the ruins down the road. When I apply some magic to it the thing lights up. I can't even get into the ruins, there are robot dogs guarding the doors. I need help taking them out." Morning Star looked past the women and to the area that lied ahead. A set of steps went up at a sharp angle atop the steps was a door way but it was a small door way. Something Morning Star wondered about. "Sure, I can get you up there I think. But... Do you think we will have to work our way back down once we are inside? The bottom is way bigger than the top." He glanced again to the woman with the massive sword and smiled. "So I don't really have any magic, I'm just strong and fast. What about you two?" Morning Star lied, but he wasn't sure who he was dealing with yet and normally didn't use his magic unless he had to anyway.

I glanced curiously at the young girl, and at this newcomer styling himself "Morning Star". The girl was younger looking, and wore semi-punkish type clothes, though the orange haired Morning star looked sort of like a school boy, yet seemed to be in his beginning adult years. I ignored the strange glint in his eye, and spoke in an even tone, trying to relay a sort of peaceable air about myself. "I am a mage from Lamia Scale, and I am more than just my magic, young man. Though to show good faith, I'll let it be known. I am Aera Tylidae, proprietor of a Lost Magic called Memory Magic, which isn't to be confused with Memory Make, though it can do something similar, I suppose. I also possess the ring Nenya, which grants me future sight, and protection from evil. Along with that, I am also made immortal by my necklace of which I wear, the fabled Necklace of Harmonia. Do not misunderstand me, I am not completely immortal, I can be killed by non-natural means, I just can't die naturally. Anywho,
while I know very little about either of you, I'd rather the mission get started as quick as possible. So I vote for enough dallying and let's get to the buggering point of why we're here, shall we?"
With that, I turned on a dime, walking toward the doorway of the ruins, beckoning them to follow. I felt rather at ease standing in these ruins, looking about the place with a sense of tempered curiosity, tapping into the vast memories of the past, and the forbidden knowledge of the future, and found nothing. I sighed inside my own mind, because even though I had no knowledge of this place, I found peace in the fact that I'd yet lost my patience, even though I held the Ebon blade within my hand, digging my fingers, and each subsequent nail, into the ray-skin handle from which I kept hold of the self-cursed bloodlust by first taking up the Ebon Blade. The whistling of the wind itself passed through the area, moving loose leaves, and messing up my hair, only for it to set back in the function I set previously, without conscious action. I breathed in the quiet scent, waiting for the meandering duo to follow me over to the door from which we shall begin the quest. Up the steps two dogs stood guard, haunches tightened an ready to spring, especially since the two canines were nigh on robotic, though I'm not one to tell. I grinned rather maniacally as the two dogs got ready to lunge, and tightened my grip on the handle as well, readying the Hiken: Tsubame Gaeshi. The two dogs lunged as I got closer, and the two dog's jaws and front paws were separated before the two could even blink, as I slid the blade back into the sheath, as the resounding click reverberates in the open field, you see the loose hanging mandibles of the deplorable creatures, along with the now weakened fore-limbs of the cyber-dogs. I laughed as the bloodlust and rage turned my hair black, and darkened my clothes as well. "A little help would be appreciated, but not needed this second." I then laughed a bit as the creatures tried, to no avail, to stand up once more. WC:559

"Well aren't you the grumpy one!" "Well aren't you the grumpy one!" both Morning Star and Lexa exclaimed at the same time towards the beautiful blonde who had introduced herself as Aera. With that, and a quick summery of her magic that really didn't state much she turned and headed towards the massive temples steps and headed up them. "Well I have a few spells I can cast. They aren't anything amazing but I can be of help like the two of you. What about you exactly Morning Star?" Lexa wondered while the man continued to simply stand and watch the blonde walk up the steps some distance away. "Like I said, my magic isn't so much magic as it is the ability to enhance my strength and speed. I can teleport too but it's not something I can do in a fight plus I can't really carry anyone with me when I do it so it's not like I could even take us all up to the top of this thing or even inside it." Mashyuu reminded the girl who had apparently forgot what he had just said. "Say, how old are you anyway? You look young but seem to be older based on how you carry yourself." "It's rude to ask a lady her age. But if you really must know, I'm eighteen, is that okay with you? I'm not looking for a boyfriend either so don't ask." Morning Star chuckled as he headed towards the steps with Lexa at his side. "Don't worry, your not my type. If I even have one. You just seem like the type to tell me what to do and get mad if I don't do it right then and there. That is not something I want to deal with."

The pair got half way up the steps when Area started to fight two mechanical dogs that were guarding the front of the building. The two that were with her would have been impressed with her magic if not for the fact that two more came running up the steps behind them. Morning Star reached behind him and considered grabbing his Morpher but figured it best to keep that trick hidden for as long as possible if he could. I really need to get that mask from the guild so that I can morph freely. He thought to himself while spinning to face the dogs that were charging up the steps towards the Wizards. His arms tensed up and magical power from the Morphing Grid surged through him. Lexa started to glow a bright gold as she found herself in danger and readied her magical power to fight. "Shadow Burst!" Lexa shouted as her body warped and changed into a living shadow. She charged down the steps and stopped in front of the dogs that snapped at her hard, but simply passed through her harmlessly. Morning Star jumped down the steps and landed behind the beasts. One hand grabbed a robotic dog by the tail and tugged while Morning Star twisted and hurled the robotic animal over the side of the ruins, sending it crashing to the floor to shatter violently. As quick as his new powers would take him, Morning Star grabbed the other dog from behind and hoisted it up while bending his back and leaning backwards, using a single heavy suplex Morning Star shattered the beast into hundreds of gears and springs. "Aside from the dyed hair you seem fine to me. Go ahead and lead the way!" He shouted up toward Area as the two rejoined the angry looking woman at the front door.

The massive doors before the team were made of steel, seemingly locked and had a single indent about the size of the metal rod Lexa had resting between the two doors. She placed the bar in the dent and stepped back when the doors quaked and slid apart, dropping the metal bar at Lexa's feet. "Easy enough. Don't suppose you guys can see in the dark can you? I would suggest you stick close then so you can see." She said as golden light radiated off her body while she grasped the metal stick. "Hmm, that is actually really cool. Well Area, what do you think about this place so far? You seem sort of at piece here."

"At peace? I suppose that was true a moment ago, but now I'd say rather the opposite. I'm just going to say that my... self that is portrayed changes on my emotion. It's why my hair changed color." I shook my head, exasperated, yet still enraged. I barely contained myself as I watched Lexa glow, and step into the stone tunnel, which extended high and wide, but was barely lit from the introduction of Lexa's glow, and the sunlight itself. I scoffed, and walked past Lexa into the impending darkness of the tunnel, knocking the base of the Ebon Blade's hilt into the wall, causing a cavalcade of noise to erupt into the nigh-on cavernous tunnels, as things from the depths that were hidden away from the world renewed their vigor, and began the hunt for whatever created the noise they sought.

After ten minutes, and the roaring noises that plagued the halls died down, and faded into the miasmic blackness of the dark that haunted my every step and glance, making the unlit hallways stretch endlessly, as far as I could see. I don't know where the other two went, as I could barely see the golden glow Lexa gave off, and I saw it down three different passages, so I chalked them up as a hallucination, and kept moving. I took a step into the air, and placed my weight into the step, walking in the air, sideways, planting my feet onto the wall, walking sideways from normal, as I kept an eye out for the creatures that would hunt me, which several passed by, but I could do nothing as they rushed passed, heading towards the golden light emitted by Lexa. Until the large swarm passed, I did my best to keep the glow from my leggings hidden, but luckily they ignored the light emitted by the leggings, probably thinking that the light was still part of Lexa's. When the final creature disappeared down the halls, I landed silently, cat-like even, and ran in the air to keep up with the creatures, silently tracking them to find my way back to my allies, if not friends. I continued this chase until I heard the muted voices of Lexa and the boy with the name dubbed "Morning Star", where the two were painfully unaware of the large swarm of enemies that hid in the shadows, stalking them, until one creature lead the others into a charge, where I then closed my eyes, and dropped onto the floor, jamming the Ebon blade's sheath into the cobbles underneath my feet, standing sentinel, while also letting the other two know where I, and the enemies, were.

"Hair color right.... like an anime character. I'll try to not be in front of you when you swing that over grown blade then." Morning Star joked and walked pas Aera into the large caverns of the temple. while he and Lexa walked ahead of their friend, their foot steps echoed out in the stone caverns. The two exchanged small talk while they wandered about, trying to figure out where they were going and how to get back. Lexa seemed to think that the trio wouldn't be coming back the way they came, not that Morning Star really had any way to discredit her theory but it was still a good thing to memorize your steps. He was about to make a left turn when he heard something drop behind him. Lexa turned her gaze over her shoulder and jumped forward with a startle. Aera had landed behind them with her weapon ready to attack the six creatures behind the group. "Jesus, I got ya Aera!" Morning Star shouted and patted Lexa on the shoulder. With a use of his super leaping ability he jumped over the group and flipped through the tunnel, landing behind the monsters in one fluid motion.

A wide grin spread over Morning Star's face, he could really use a weapon but with nothing in his hands, his super strength would have to do. Both his bare hands shot forward and grabbed a spider by the legs, yanking as hard as he could he ripped the monsters two back legs off its body and started to use them as clubs, not very effective, but effective enough to do some damage to the monsters as it was. He glanced up at Aera to make sure she was okay then lifted a sharp leg up high and stabbed it into the back of the spider he was fighting, pinning it to the ground in one strike. Morning Star jumped up on its body and reached for its face, yanking as hard as he could, splitting the top of its head off of its fangs!

Post by Lilim 19th June 2017, 5:45 pm

I was almost giddy at seeing Morning Star leap into the fray, like a warrior of old, until a man with circuits running all along his body swung at me with two weapons I didn't get to see, because Nenya activated itself, granting me the time necessary to move out of the way, until I was blinded by the many different pictures running inside my head, all the many futures that could have been, and will be. I blundered my way through the searing pain, dancing the danse de la morte with this abomination of a man, lashing, slashing, and otherwise dealing damage to this unknown creature. Amidst our little dance, I was struck, somehow, someway, without my knowledge, and I was knocked to the floor. He leaped at me, blade downturned, expecting a fountain of red, and yet all he got for his efforts was a shower of sparks, blasting back into his face, as I rolled back to meet the oncoming enemies. I looked for my companions in the mess of this foray, and Lexa was handling herself well, while Morning Star was still taking his time eviscerating a mechanical looking spider. I refocused on the fight I was in, and unleashed the Futago no Kiba, jamming the sheath into the cobbles, and shearing the air between the man and the ceiling with the Ebon Blade, lashing with a stream of darkness falling behind the weapon. When he moved to dodge, I grabbed the sheath out of the ground, and lashed at his chest, trapping him in an instant that was deadlier than a myocardial infarction. I sheared the man in two, and crushed his side, leaving the husk of a man lying in two pieces on the ground, and with annoyance, I sheared off the head of another of the men, and knocked the body down to the floor. I helped Lexa out by shearing the heads of the dogs off, and cutting the bodies down to size with ease, leaving them limp and unmoving. I looked over at Morning Star, and decided no help was required, since he ripped the spider in pieces. I looked down at the body of the man who's head I only sheared off, and the body was trying, (without success), to stand up, and from which I stabbed the body into the floor, impaling it through the chest, leaving it weak and delirious. I walked on, as my hair faded back to white, and my clothes did the same. "How about we don't get separated again, hmm? That was a fiasco, and I'd rather not tail anyone again. Sorry about startling you, I just wanted to alert you to those I tracked." WC:451 Total WC:1454

With one spider bot down, Morning Star pressed his feet into the thorax of the robotic beast and sprang at one of the dogs that Lexa was evading as most of her magic was movement based. He slammed shoulder first into the dog, knocking it over with one mighty blow, a result of his super strength and high leaping abilities. With the dog on its side, Lexa ran around to face off against yet another dog. Morning Star scrambled to his feet at the same time the dog did. He braced himself while the animal charged the Requip Ranger. His feet dug into the ground and his arms opened wide, allowing the dog to see his neck, seemingly wide open. As the dog snapped for the blonde man's neck he leaned back and caught the dog with both his massive arms. One leg stepped back as Morning Star stood up straight and fell. He slammed his back into the ground while also slamming down the dog. With a loud thud that echoed off the ground, Morning Star drove all the air out of the monster while sending sparks through the area. The dog shattered as Aera finished off the last of the monster like robots. Once together again Lexa looked at Aera and snickered. "If you would have joined the club we wouldn't have gotten split up to begin with miss high and mighty. Now maybe this time you can stay close?"

Morning Star patted Aera on the shoulder and offered her a gentle smile. "Nice moves there. I really wish I had a super cool weapon to use. One day I might find one." He muttered and flashed her a smile. "well, shall we move on then? I'd rather not stick around here until more of those things show up. Besides fighting dogs all day is gonna get boring of we don't hurry." Lexa sighed and started to move on, clearly ready to continue through the small temple. The group hit a round room that had a large circuit board at it's center. Slowly Lexa walked up to it and looked it over. "I think this is an elevator. There is a switch here that takes the bar I have." Morning Star looked up to see a series of pods in the top of the walls, each holding another monster, nine of them to be exact. "I bet once this thing starts moving down we will have to fight those things. If we fail then they get the bar back and nobody else will get inside. Is everyone ready?" He asked while falling into a fighting stance. Lexa nodded her head and produced the bar then activated it. The room shook violently for just a moment then slowly started to lower itself...

I wasn't expecting the room to start falling, and yet, I saw both Lexa and Morning Star ignore the room lowering itself into the abyss, while dropping into a fighting stance once more, as grinding noises grew louder and louder, and war calls from creatures from these forgotten depths called down from the now falling enemies. They stood after falling a fair distance, and I was ready to fight them, dropping into a sword stance, blade edge up, sheath still on the blade, barring any open air from the edge. With a war cry that echoed through the cylindrical room, I used the sheath as a bludgeoning weapon, crushing instead of slashing each opponent, leaving bodies stunned for Lexa and Morning Star, before I launched the sheath into a foe, and slashed them in half (or thereabouts,) diagonally. I did a backflip, and slashed a foe clean down the center, making one of the robo-puppers into two pupper pieces.
The creatures, as I had noticed, began attacking the elevator attachments, the cables that were lowering the rotunda we stood and fought in, into the abyss. I sighed, and since I could, I used the Hiken: Tsubame Gaeshi again, cutting down three of my foes nigh on instantly, cutting them down in a sort of three pronged spiral pattern. The other two didn't seem too worried, and were fighting with seeming ease, so I turned my back to them, and continued fighting. After a few minutes of nonstop action, (where I barely exerted myself, thanks to the leggings I wore.) The enemies were all but slain, when I heard the rumbling of the elevator beneath us, and the deep Tw-w-w-annnnnggggg~! Of an elevator cord snapping, barely missing me by a fraction of an inch. The dog that did it rushed over to the next one, and leaped at it, but I caught it, and by accident, the next cord, and sliced them both in two. After a large, and veritable groan from the elevator, the floor, and Morning Star, Lexa and I took a plunge into miasmic blackness. I caught myself, in mid-air, thanks to my leggings, but I had to basically run while diving to catch up to Lexa and Morning Star, but they've reached Terminal Velocity, while I could never catch them at that speed. I'd heard a thud before I reached the bottom of the elevator shaft, and I didn't see either of them, but there was a door forced open, so I traveled into the open door, and into the final hall, where the target laid.

New Genesis Empty Re: New Genesis

The sound of cut cables really made Morning Star twist his head while Lexa did battle along with Aera against hordes of robots that Aera seemed to be having no issue with, bringing the thought of why Morning Star bothered to travel to the job at all to light. He winced the moment the elevator started to drop, his feet left the ground and the blonde man started to free fall in the massive elevator before he could ever really get a feel for the fight at hand. His greenish brown eyes widened in worry while his arms and legs started to flail wildly. "No no no no no no no!" He shouted while trying to find anything to stop the fall of the elevator. Nothing... His eyes fell shut tight while he bit his bottom lip till blood spilled from his mouth. A quick grab to his moprher later and he exploded in a mix of silver, green, grey, red, and gold light all surrounded by black specks. The elevator crashed to the ground leaving a could of dust and destruction in its wake as metal and stone crumbled under the sudden pressure, leaving everything in the elevator destroyed, dead or dying...

Just before she would have died, the metal bar Lexa had floated off the control panel and whipped to where the door was that led to the exit. Lexa followed it and teleported while screaming just past the door. She appeared laying on her face on the other side of the door, groaning from the sudden shock and fear of nearly getting killed by an elevator. She could smell the destruction behind her and the mangled bodes of robots and cyborgs. Slowly she tilted her head back and looked. "I think I'm on my own now... No way anything survived that." She picked herself up and dusted off her red and black skirt then walked to the door where the metal bar flipped and split the door open before falling back into Lexa's hand. She shed a single tear and turned to enter the next room...

The bright flash of light that was Morning Star appeared outside the temple back on the first step of the large climb. Still getting used to teleporting, Morning Star slipped on the step and tumbled backwards to land hard on the stone ground under the temple. He laid still, looking up in the night sky. When did the sun set? How long were we in there? He wondered. His eyes squinted for a moment and he sat up slowly, looking back up the flight of stairs that were now seeming like a sick joke. "Something tells me that was the only way down and now I have no idea how to get through this thing." Morning Star grumbled while dusting off his grey uniform. Slowly he started to make his way back up the steps, afraid of trying to teleport again so soon after he had really just used it for the second or third time.

Lexa walked into a large room with various suits of armors that lined the tall walls. Her eyes darted from suit to suit with a bewildered look in her round orbs. "Cool, I wonder if these suits really protect from anything though." She whispered under her breath but stopped when she heard a different voice, well... a voice that was the same but chillingly evil echo from above and in front of her. Lexa twisted to see a girl that looked the exact same as her standing atop a pillar that once held a statue. Behind the other Lexa a vat that had been opened rested, showing it had been shut not long ago. The fake Lexa lit up with blue light the way the real one did red. "Big Sister, Papa wants you dead. Sorry your time is up. But I need that circuit board you have." The false Lexa telported to the side of the real one and drove the back of her fist into the real Lexa, sending the young woman flying across the room to smash into a suit of armor savagely hard.

Slowly Lexa pulled herself out of the rubble of a crumpled suit of armor and groaned while rubbing the fresh bruise on the side of her face. "Ughh... What the hell? I don't have a sister and you aren't real." Lexa muttered while standing up. Quickly she grasped a gauntlet and placed it on her hand then charged the false Lexa. Both women transformed into a shadow and vanished. Each clashed from time to time then vanished again until their spells had ended and the real Lexa was gasping for air as the fake clutched her "twin sisters" neck and lifted her off the ground. Fear, true terror filled Lexa's eyes while she struggled for a way to survive the attack. "Blood.... Rage." She whispered and the glowing red circuits on Lexa's body exploded like a light bulb blowing up, sending out a pulse wave from her body that sent the fake Lexa soaring through the mostly empty room. The real Lexa fell to her knees and glared at the false Lexa. She wiped blood from her mouth that had welled up when she was being choked then charged forward. Her blood rage made her move almost inhumanly fast as she appeared before the fake and grabbed the girl by the head. She was about to send a terrible head butt her way when the false Lexa sent a swift kick right between the real ones legs, dropping Lexa in an instant. Lexa hit the ground hard and whimpered before she fell face fist at the fakes feet, barely moving. "Please.... Someone... Help me..." She whispered while trying to pull herself up to her feet...

By the time Morning Star had figured out how to get to the final battle it was over. He waved at the ladies and joined them happily. "Glad I found you. Looks like everyone is okay for the most part. So what's next?" "I pay you. Here take a suit of armor. Thank you both for coming and helping me. But for now I'm gonna stay here. This was my fathers lab and it holds secrets I need to learn. Sorry for dragging you both here. I hope that armor is enough of a payment." Morning Star nodded in understanding and accepted the armor. "Well, Lexa if you ever need anything you know where to find me. Aera.... it was a strange job but it was...what's the word? Terrifying. You ladies take care of yourselves. May our paths cross again soon." Morning Star scooped up the armor he was given and grabbed his morpher, exploding into the various colored lights to return home.
