Magic
Primary Magic: Secrets of the TriangleSecondary Magic: (Must be filled in later. Magic you trained for goes here)
Caster or Holder: Caster
Description: The legend of the Bermuda Triangle; a large section of the ocean located between three pieces of land. Ships were always told that they would go in while on a voyage to a new location, and then never emerge again. Many stories depict that this is solely a rumor with no proof or merit behind it, but there is also nothing to support the idea of whether this place is what people say it is, until now. The caster, alone despite all legends had traveled into this area. What they had come across was nothing as though they expected in most aspects, but not every one of them. Floating bits of broken ships and the eerie feeling of unheard of creatures lurking below them but not approaching the figure. Instead, the thing that drove them was that of a song. A song given purely by a heavenly tone that would draw normal people in like they were nothing more than a mindless puppet. When they arrived, they had discovered many a ships abandoned along the shore line and the detail showed the many a generations that had been here from colonial times to even very recent ones. When arriving closer to the source, the discovery was a shock to her. Sirens. Mermaids of all colors of scaled fins sat around a place. Singing in harmony, they all sounded wonderful, but not mesmerizing as most others would have been more captivating.
Upon approaching them, they instantly ceased their singing and became captivated themselves over the appearance of their guest.Through some time of chatting and learning from one another, the home of mermaids formed a "triangle pact". This pact was one between the Triangle, the inhabitants, and the mage on contract. It was a binding pact that allowed the user the ability to summon the mermaids of the land at any point in time. Through this binding, they wouldn't need to be in the water, they had their own abilities and taught her the way to use the magic. Not that it ever came for free, but it was more easily set because of how many people could resist their charm... And the casters very appearance didn't hinder a biased choice either.
As far as this magic is used, the caster bares the mark of the Bermuda Triangle branded on their arm, through magical means. So long as this magic is contracted, this mark will appear on them. This mark allows the user to call these Mermaids from their home in the Triangle in any place of their choosing at any given time. They do not require water in order to be useful and do not suffer drawbacks in doing so as the magic used acts as the alternative use of water. These mermaids do contain their own personality, thoughts, actions, and wills, however they by contract will obey most orders given. Each mermaid under contract carries their own abilities to that each one was more unique, much so that some use a sound based magic and others with water or various other elements.
Strengths:
- Using this magic allows for the user to fight in combat without the need to be in the frontlines themselves for most, if not the entire fight.
Weaknesses:
- Once the summons the caster has are defeated, they are essentially left defenseless to being attacked.
- If a summon is currently out and the caster is defeated, the summons are automatically forced off of the battlefield.
Lineage:
- Spoiler:
- Name: The Living Marionette
Wielder: Aoi
Description: The origin of this lineage is something of a strange occurrence from which nobody could have seen coming. The holder of this lineage was born of a debilitating disease on birth, one that had given them a time clock on their own life span. This particular disease would slowly eat away at her muscular system until they were unable to do the simplest of things. The course of which would lead to a very slow, painful, and torturous death. No form of magic or aide in any way could cure this diseases decaying effects and its effects had begun to take affect at an early age.
An old puppeteer whom used magic to control marionettes had come to learn of the condition from which the holder had been in. With it, they had brought the user into their shop under the notion that there was a chance there was a way to avoid death and many others factors, however they'd have to live with downfalls of it as well. The sense of feeling, inability to reproduce, and so on. Without caring for those side effects, the process of transferring ones life from a human body into that of a marionette doll had been very well researched before experimenting on real things. Starting small with animals and working their way up, the wielder if among the first of human beings to have undergone this transfer of life. In the process, the magic of the puppeteer had become mixed in with this new body, allowing the user the ability of magic, and a host of other abilities as well.
Ability: Lack of touch: Due to the loss of her sense of touch and feeling, the wielders other senses are heightened to
Immortal Porcelain: The user cannot die through means of time or simply being broken. If such condition occurs, the users body becomes "recrafted" to a form mirroring their current appearance. This does not mean they cannot be beaten, just another form of a reincarnation. In addition, the user cannot sustain permanent conditions such as blindness or becoming deaf.
Dress for Success: The user is able to renew or change clothing on their body on a whim at any time or in any place.
Ailment Retardant: Bodily ailments are 75% less resistant to the user as no blood runs in their body. Paralytics from electricity are 50% less resistant as the body has no nervous system to shut down. However, blinding effects, deafening noises, and the like are 150% more effective. This also increases the duration from which they last by another 1 post for anything of rank or lower, and 2 posts for anything 2 ranks higher or more.
Mana Doll: The users body is very proficient in channeling spells for magic as it helps to run the users entire body, increasing the amount of MP they retain by 30%.
Usage: All abilities are passive, any drawbacks are noted in the descriptions.
Harmony When two summons of the same rank are out at the same time, both summons gain a 30% boost to their basic damage during the time they are out together.
Home-sea Advantage If the caster or the summons are submerged in water (i.e. in a pool, lake, etc.) they gain a bonus 20% to their spell damage.
The Illusive Eye The user can cast out an illusion of the inner sanctum of the Bermuda Triangle before anyone within a 10/20/30/40/50 (10 being at D, 50 being at S) meter area. In this area, the area appears to become a large, dimly lit cavern. Above is a whole where the full moon shines in on a pool of sorts and causes the reflection to illuminate the area. Around it is a ground like area made of rock. While this is active for 4/6/8/10/12 posts, people and non-aquatic based pets can walk on the ground and water surface freely. Aquatic creatures and pets are freely able to use the water inside. Respective Slayers can still consume the water or earth around, however any non-aquatic beings will simply hit the top water as if it were made of the ground itself. This ability is usable once per thread.
Choir of Power Summons of this magic are able to cast the active abilities of the other summons that share the same element as their own active. To do this, the caster pays half the normal ranks spell cost to cast this spell, and the spell in question cannot be used if the active is of a higher rank.
