Marianna † Guildless † C-Rank
This wasn't the first time Marianna was visiting this place. She was here before, contracted by a jealous beast of a human to slaughter an innocent. And she did so, as was agreed and eventually paid for. Jewels, coated in blood of those around the vampiress. That was what became the source of life for the undead girl. She had no need for currency, as she had no need for food, drinks nor a roof above her head. It was all just small unnecessary pleasures of an immortal who wished to die. Momentary distractions from that original goal. They could never last long enough, however. And now, the pale skinned woman stood in front of a more famous building in this town, still grasping the whispers of a murdered woman with no blood in her body being found weeks back. Was it a mistake for her to return to this place this early? Perhaps. But what drew her here was yet another contract, a mission of utmost importance. Or so she was told anyway. She sat atop a building across the street, her golden orbs shining in the dimness of this night and scanning the place she would soon enter. So far, she was lucky. She did not have to do anything below the sunlight yet. That luck would probably run out eventually, but not today. With a sight, she produced a small bright red gem from one of her pockets. Beautiful to behold, it resembled a piece of refined ruby. But any expert would quickly discover that the piece of translucent rock was something completely different in it's composition to the famous gem. A bloodstone. Just a small, now worthless piece. A memento that held memories of the past. A reminder of what once was.
It forced a second sight out of her as she remembered it all once more, only to put it back into her pocket. Anyone would say that now was not the right time to be sentimental, thinking about the past long gone. However, this was something that helped the vampiress to keep on going. The fleeting hope of finding something that would bind her to this world again. Something that would not bore her immediately. Human... willing and accepting. It was a nearly impossible wish. There were many mortals in this world that wished to serve such supernatural beings as Marianna. But those desires were impure for the maiden of blood. No, what she required was much more pure and innocent. Shaking her head and forcing those thoughts out of her head for now, she would stand up and jump from the roof, soaring gracefully to the ground as if she had invisible wings that helped her glide. An aura of something other than magic surrounded her now, a melody playing from no instrument setting a gentle and curious tone upon the landing. Doppelgangers. They were creatures of great mysteriousness themselves. Though their roots did not go as far as those of a vampiric beast, the girl still held some respect for them. Which in this case would me that she planned to end them quickly and painlessly if possible. Until now, she was preparing and making sure no one would interrupt her slaughter. It was dead of the night and no one entered or left the Inn in quite some time. It meant that now as probably as good of a time as any. Except the moment she decided to reach for the door, she felt a presence of another. Or rather, a scream that would go unheard for mortal ears. Someone else was coming.
