It was a new day and excitement was in the air at Rose Garden. For the last few days, rumors were about that the magic council was planning to reopen the borders of Fiore. James didn’t think much of these whispers at the time, but if they were true, then something such as this would certainly peak his interest. The ability to enter Fiore would give James a chance to meet various powerful mages, and gather information on their magic expanding the Library of Lamia Scale. Other rumors suggested they may be opening the borders of a few other lands too.
James sat on a bar stool of a rundown tavern in Rose garden. The walls of the tavern were the color of a dark wood, with a dirt covered floor. James hesitantly drank a sip of the beer the bartender had brought him, figuring the drinks were as bad as the décor. To his dissatisfaction, he was indeed correct and nearly sap the sip he took on the floor. Just as he was about slam his bottle down on the bar and complain, an excited man burst through the door. “Everyone, come quick! The council just made the decree and the boarder to Fiore, Basco, Seven, and Minstrel are all open. They’re sellin’ passports as we speak!” James’ eyes widen, “So, the rumors are true,” he said to himself before walking casually out the tavern.
Exiting the poorly kept building, James was nearly run over by a ravenous crowd of people running to the local train station. “I guess word travels fast around these parts, or maybe I just got the news last…” James jogged until he reached the train station, where hundreds were lined up trying to buy passports. He even noticed one man with a hood on and a dagger out attempting to rob one of the tellers! James was about to leap into action to stop the thief, but security beat him to it. They took out clubs and started beating the man into submission, once the man fell they put hand cuffs on him and walked out of the station. After the display, a man with a black beard and a white uniform stepped forward “Alright everyone that’s it! Settle down! Anyone else so much as try to cut in line, you’ll be kicked out of here!” the once bustling crowd began to quiet down and get into strait lines, one of which James was in.
An hour or so had passed and James finally reached the front of the line. A female teller with blonde hair spoke “Oh, finally… It’s your lucky day pal. You just so happened to get the last Passport I had.” She looked around James’ head, and yelled to the people behind him “Sorry everyone, I’m all out, if you still want a passport feel free to get into another line!” she then handed James the passport, after he had payed of course. “heh heh heh, Fiore here I come.” James grinned as he stepped onto the first train of the night.
