    Job info.:

Rai Sormr • Black Rose • C Rank

Rai was searching the job board for something with the highest reward until one poster, in particular, caught his eye. It said "Reward 7000 Jewels" written on the top in big letters on the top. It was classified as a C rank job and as C rank jobs go, it was about average pay. The Poster read as followed:

"Fighters from all around Fiore have gathered to see who is the world's strongest! All fighters are eligible and you get to show off your insane fighting skills. We are finally proud to present the Road Fighter Tournament! You will fight a total of fifteen fighters, and don't worry your health and mana will be restored after every fight! So come on down, you have nothing to fear!"

This was a good chance for Rai to see how he measures up in this country. Being born in Basco, there weren't very many wizards and the few that he could find weren't that strong. Most people used technology to fight through guns or other types of weapons. Rai would have been no different if it wasn't for the fact he was forced to learn his magic. In the end, he believes his magic would bring him further than what any weapon could. In this country, magic was everywhere! Moving to this place was definitely a good idea, plenty of work for a mage of any rank and plenty of experienced wizards to help Rai get stronger. The best part was, the stronger Rai could get the better job's he could do making it even easier to get the money he needs every month.

While Rai was overlooking the poster, Dante walked up looking annoyed. "Jez, you pick a job yet? I'm getting bored. I could be at the Tavern or something instead I'm sitting here waiting on your slow arse!" He sort of yelled. Dante was Rai's pet honey badger given to him by his late magic instructor. Rai just tossed the poster Dante's way and started to walk towards the door. "What's this then?" He said looking it over. "A tournament! Now that's what I'm talking about! Nothing like cracking some skulls!" Dante said getting excited.

Once they got there, they sat in the stands for a few rounds to get a measure of the competition. Plenty of people were attempting to win that 7k jewel prize but none so far have been able to best the arena's warriors. Dante was screaming his head off at the fighters like the other fan's but unlike the other's Dante was screaming for them to be more violent as were the other's were just cheering. "YAH! KICK EM WHILE HE'S DOWN! HIT EM WHERE IT HURTS!!!" After a couple more match's Rai went to go register for the next set of rounds. Dante was excited to finally get in the ring and show this crowd how to really fight only to be turned down at the sign-up booth. "WHAT DO YOU MEAN PETS CAN'T COMPETE! AND WHO YOU CALLING A PET YOU BASTARD!" Dante screamed jumping up on the guy and grabbing him by the collar. Rai would intervene but last time Dante nearly broke his headset so he just stood back and watched security show up and take him away. "Just sit in the stands and watch, this will be over soon." Rai said as Dante was screaming bloody murder cause security was throwing him out of the room. He could even be heard down the hall a way's but Rai was unable to hear it due to his music playing on his headset.

    ”Excuse me.”

    “Sir…??”

    “I’ll just poke him…”

    Pokes were then conceived.

Aerwyna Salvatore came to register for the upcoming tournament for quite a few reasons. One of them was because she needed to see how much stronger she has become ever since joining the guild known as Black Rose. She wasn’t a great influence in Black Rose as she was back at the palace in the underwater world, so this was great as it disguised her true self very much, as well as her heritage (didn’t stop the fishy smell though)

After poking him, she smiled softly and placed her arm over her other arm, which seemed to be cuddling into a cute little mushroom human hybrid. “Sorry, it seems I have distracted you from your music. Forgive me.” The water dragon slayer apologised before looking down to Kinopio. “Now remember, Kinopio, you cannot be with me, sweetie. So I want you to be with the referee, simply because of how small you are.” She noted to the mushroom human.

“B-but Aerwyna!” He cried out in his croaky voice. “I want to stay with you!!!” He huddled into Aerwyna’s chest as he cried a trail of tears.”

“You’re too small to be in the crowd, sweetie!”

    “R-right…”

While the toad was still crying his eyes out, Aerwyna shrugged her shoulders at Rai. “You’re Rai, correct??? I heard your name now and then while in the guild hall, and it interested me. But that is not what I am here for, fortunately. I am Aerwyna, I am also a member of Black Rose and I would very much like to tag team with you… is that okay??” Aerwyna asked politely. She knew it was probably out of line, but she would very much like to get to know other people that were in the guild, the only people she really knew in the guild was Horatio, Charlotte and her boyfriend, who she is currently loving and adoring for all eternity.

“If you do not want to. I understand. It is very nice to meet you though, and that is all that matters. Anyways, the tournament is soon, so I better get going hehe.” She chuckled ever so lightly, she was not used to being so frontal at all with her speaking skills, but it was showing that she was becoming as sociable as possible.

“Aerwyna!” The toad cried out once more. “This isn’t fair!” Aerwyna could only sigh softly, it seemed that Kinopio didn’t understand at all, but it didn’t help that Kinopio was attached to the mermaid princess for various reasons. It would most certainly be easier if Kinopio was out of harm's way, yet Aerwyna couldn’t do anything about it…

It didn’t take overly long for him to eventually stop his crying, and all Aerwyna could do is stare at Rai apologetically. Well, what else could she do?? She didn’t understand everything about the world of humans yet, she could only be there and weep in the inside, wondering how people are and what they feel can be a very confusing thing to deal with… she would very much like to know immediately. It probably doesn’t help the fact that she had to run away to experience these new things for herself.

Rai kept a close eye on Dante as security dragged him down the hall with his static field sensing ability. Security didn't drag him down far before Rai sensed an increase in static electricity where they currently were at. "Oh sh#t..." Rai thought to himself. Scream's of pain could be heard from down the hall as Dante zapped the two security guards. Rai just facepalmed to the situation and left Dante to deal with the consequences. Was then he noticed a girl about to poke him from behind. "Can I help you?" Rai said before she could touch him. His voice had no sense of annoyance,  just his normal soft, friendly voice. He could also smell fish coming from her, it was a very strong smell that he was sure anyone could smell. He thought it was strange but just figured she ate a lot of fish at some point recently. “Sorry, it seems I have distracted you from your music. Forgive me.” She said. "You didn't." He said turning around and pointing to his headset. They were clearly still over his ears.

Their conversation was quickly interrupted by some small mushroom like human, apparently he wanted to stay with Aerwyna. Rai started to put two and two together and figured Aerwyna wanted to be in the tournament and this little guy wasn't allowed to due to the no pet rule. When they were finished Aerwyna continued her conversation with Rai. “You’re Rai, correct???" she started to say. "Yah?" he replied. "I heard your name now and then while in the guild hall, and it interested me. But that is not what I am here for, fortunately. I am Aerwyna, I am also a member of Black Rose and I would very much like to tag team with you… is that okay??" Aerwyna asked politely. “If you do not want to. I understand. It is very nice to meet you though, and that is all that matters. Anyways, the tournament is soon, so I better get going hehe."

She found his name, interesting? That was a matter for a different time, if she was in the same guild then he should have plenty of opportunities to question her on this matter. In other words, questions for later. So she wanted to join him in this tournament. The problem was he as intending to do this solo. After measuring up all the combatants, this should be fairly easy for him. Then again, he really does need the price money and having someone else back him up would make it easier. More than easier, it would pretty much be a guarantee if she's strong enough. While she was trying to calm her mushroom friend down, Rai tried to get a measure of what her combat level might be. He could sense a fair amount of magic energy coming from her, almost as much has Rai possessed. "She has good magic power, but that doesn't mean much in terms of skill. If her personality is anything to judge, it seems like she doesn't interact with others much. She could have spent that extra time training but that's just a guess." He thought to himself. Once Aerwyna was done with her little friend Rai answered "Alright. But when we win, I need the prize money. Any objections?"

With that all taken care of the two headed into the arena for their first match. They stood by the entrance to the arena waiting for their names to be called. The first to be called into the arena was the other team, Hibiki and Mike Bison. Rai had a look of disinterest on his face when he heard those two names. "Those two are the weakest fighters here. Should be easy." This, however, could be a great opportunity to see what Aerwyna could do. He was pretty sure she might be wondering the same thing. Finally, the announcer called them into the arena. Rai stood in the arena with his hands in his pockets with his face still having that look of disinterest. Hibiki was the first to break the silence "You two ready to loose! I could take you both down myself!" He taunted to the duo. "If you spent more time training then running your mouth, you might actually be able to back that claim up." Rai retorted. Hibiki looked to take that comment way too personally. "You're going down first kid!"

    SPELLS:

    Name: Aquatic Roar
    Rank: C
    Type: Water, offensive, roar
    Duration: 1 post
    Cooldown: 3 posts
    Description:
Inhaling a lot of air to expand her lung capacity, Aerwyna will let out a wail which extends 25m away from the user, Aerwyna’s roar will sound just like a dolphin's and afterwards Aerwyna will spout out a barrage of water towards her enemy for C ranked ranked damage. This will also knock the user back by 10m if they are near the user due to the pressure of the water that will be spouting out of Aerwyna’s mouth.
    Strengths:
Knockback - this knockbacks the enemy by 10m, this is useful if melee attacks are going to be performed on her.
    Weaknesses:
Predictable - this is pretty predictable since Aerwyna will sound like a dolphin before she attacks
Vulnerable - she will be vulnerable from behind because the spell deals with the front
Allies - allies could be in the way and they would get hit instead.

    NOTES:
Before the mermaid princess was able to poke the man, screams could be heard along with some electricity, this worried Aerwyna greatly. In the waters, she was told that electricity was going to be her greatest weakness and could kill her much quicker than ice can, for example. It was just a very unsettling moment to partake, considering that if people were getting electrocuted, then she could possibly too. Nonetheless, she poked the man anyway and thus began their ounce of conversation.

She had to admit, It was strange seeing someone managing to reply to her despite the headphones that Rai had hugged around his ears ever so comfortably. It was pretty cool she will admit, different but cool. It was something that the others in the underwater world never really had, mind you, they never had anything to start off with that was to do with the world of land, including electronics and land food, and land pets. Dang, even books weren’t able to be read in the sea, it’s why Aerwyna has such a hard time reading and sometimes even to talk if she forgets words. Luckily, Aerwyna was improving when it comes to such things, but it does suck that she has to learn this from scratch regardless.

While Aerwyna stared at Rai in her apologetic manner, the man agreed to take her, IF and only if he got the prize money however. Aerwyna smiled softly and nodded. She was just glad that she had someone to tag along with, especially since she was still learning about combat and fighting on land, another thing that she must tackle. But is improving on, luckily, which is always a good sign in all honesty, practice does make perfect after all, it can be pretty amazing to see what practice can well and truly do. It has been greatly experienced with everyones elses singing whilst she still lived underwater. “Okay, I will comply to your rulings.” Aerwyna bit her lower lip. She wondered how it was going to go.

Heading into the arena with her new partner, Aerwyna kept silent until they got to the entrance, she spotted someone come forward to her as the announcer gave out Rai’s and Aerwyna’s opponents. Her toad companion was taken out the females grasp and even though Kinopio whined in return, he waved at Aerwyna in complete sadness. Poor lad.

The two opponents were called Hibiki and Mike Bison, and Rai mentioned that they were easy to defeat, Aerwyna did feel a bit skeptical about the predicament, but decided to say nothing about it and reluctantly agreed with the fellow mage hoping that he was right. Then their names were called and Aerwyna sauntered over and bowing down to all the audience in happiness. Only, her happiness was quickly broken into annoyance when Hibiki mentioned that he could take the both of them down himself. Rai seemed to be a very good roaster though and it did leave Aerwyna escaping a giggle. Hibiki said he was taking Rai down first but Aerwyna was having none of it. With this in mind, Aerwyna began to inhale to increase her breathing capacity before the announcer told them to go, that was when Aerwyna wailed out like a dolphin and streamed out a jet of water towards Hibiki, leaving Hibiki’s partner in shock horror as Hibiki was pushed back from Rai.

“Not today!” Aerwyna grinned, she was so ready to do this.

The moment the announcer said we could begin the match, Hibiki charged straight for Rai. However, his moment in the sun was very very very short lived. The moment he took two steps towards Rai he was suddenly sprayed by Aerwyna Water Dragon Roar ability. The force of the attack sent Hibiki crashing into the side of the arena then slid to the ground apparently knocked out. Rai looked over at Aerwyna with a bit of a surprised look on his face. "She's a slayer... Huh, didn't see that coming." he thought to himself. Guess that settled the fact that she can handle herself just fine, and now it was Rai's turn to show her what he can do. Their last opponent was Mike Bison.

The announcer was still going crazy over how Aerwyna crushing victory over Hibiki. Rai walked up to Mike intent of finishing this fight one on one. They stared each other down, watching for the slightest movement to give away each other's attacks. Finally, Rai just smiles and extended his arms out and said "I'll give you the first strike." The announcer relays this information to the listener's, and the crowd fell deathly ill, *coughs* silent, sorry.  "But I'll warn you if you waste it." He pauses for a moment for dramatic effect. "You're going to regret it." Even the announcer was quiet at this point everyone waiting in anticipation on what Mike will do.

Finally, Mike began to charge up, looked like he decided on what attack to go with. "I hope you know what your doing kid, this is my strongest attack." Rai just stood there waiting for him to unleash his attack, still smiling that trademark cocky smile of his. "Very well then, HERE I COME!" Mike yelled charging straight for Rai. "MAD GATTLING!!!!" he yelled as he reached Rai. Faster than the normal eye could see, Mike unleashed a rapid barrage of punches as if he was firing a Gatling gun. Rai took every hit head on; he didn't even try to dodge one punch. To Rai, each hit was like a mosquito bite, but even he would admit that taking on the entire attack did a little damage at least.

After Mike was done with his assault, he finished the attack with a swift uppercut which sent Rai flying backwards and onto the ground. Even though it was Rai on the ground seemingly defeated, he was still smiling. "You done goofed." He said. Before Mike could question why he suddenly got hit by a barrage of lightning, one for every punch he himself threw. After the counter assault was done, Mike fell to his Knee's then to the ground as Rai got back up on his feet. "Your first mistake was physically attacking me. Your second mistake was hitting me far to many times." He began to explain. "You see, every time I am hit by something organic, or something that can conduct electricity, my body counters it by unleashing the stored lightning in my body." Rai finished explaining walking towards the exit. "You never stood a chance." The announcer proclaimed Rai and Aerwyana the victors of the first round and the ground was going wild. The announcer was going on about how he had never once seen someone take such a beating and yet have the other guy get defeated.

It didn’t take long for the fight to be over, in fact, she felt as if everyone fought to the best of their abilities, it’s just… Aerwyna and Rai seemed to have that synergy, it was as if they knew each other for a really long time. In all reality though, Aerwyna didn’t know the guy at all, apart from his name, which was Rai. Apart from that, she knew nothing at all. On the bright side, the area knew that she was a dragon slayer now, and a water dragon slayer at that, being able to manipulate the waters that she grew up in almost her whole life, as a princess and not as a normal human being, but as a mermaid. She knew that was fine though, she ran away from the watery clutches of her father, the king, and is now in earthland, disguising as a normal mermaid, even as a human to anyone who didn’t know that she was a mermaid at all.

Aerwyna smiled softly as she then jiggled her legs, catching her breath as she looked to her fellow guildie, he seemed like a really decent guy, but only because he wasn’t electrocuting her life away or something of the sort, she could easily just be electrocuted by him though, even if it was an accident, she just had to be careful of her movements incase she turned into a fried fish who could easily be given to a fish and chip shop, or more commonly known, the chippy, as Aerwyna found out. This language was so fun to learn sometimes, but it was insanely weird, why call a fish and chip shop the chippy?? Wouldn’t that mean it would just sell chips and not fish?? What a strange language indeed.

“Rai!” Aerwyna grinned as she bit her lower lip in anticipation. She was glad to have finished off with that round rather quickly. Walking over to him, the mermaid twiddled around with her blue hair. “I do hope you didn’t mind the actions I have taken. On the bright side, you’re thunder stuff is REALLY cool!” Aerwyna complimented him with a cheerful sort of tone, just with added anxiety. Of course she would be rather anxious over the fact he used the power of lightning, she was a mermaid after all. “I feel that we go well decently when it comes to fighting, and that reassures me a lot. Just don’t electrocute me, I will become cooked and edible.” She warned him before winking at him. She was sure that the second round was soon. “We should get ready, Rai.” She said while rolling her shoulders back. She was so ready for the next round. What would she do though?? She was sure that she cannot use her roar again, it would probably be really predictable… Whipping them would be good, yeah, she might aswell whip them and such, maybe even bite them, she wasn’t the type to fight dirty, but she was sure that she didn’t want to turn into a mermaid anytime soon.

Rai's thoughts on how that round went weren't good. He felt as it was child's play, trivial, or just plain boring. That was the only reason why he gave Mike the first shot was because Rai knew the boxer wouldn't stand a chance either way. Aerwyna seemed to be capable and confident in her abilities, and Rai was content with what he saw. She can without a doubt hold her own with whatever this tournament can throw at us. Once Rai and Aerwyna made their way out of the arena and into the contestant waiting room, the water dragon slayer started to run her mouth off. "Rai! I do hope you didn't mind the actions I have taken. On the bright side, you're thunder stuff is REALLY cool!" She started to say. "I feel that we go well decently when it comes to fighting, and that reassures me a lot. Just don't electrocute me, I will become cooked and edible." she finished with a wink. However, Rai started to collapse a bit onto the side of the wall. He was still standing, but barely, that last attack he took did more damage than he was letting on. He was going to be okay though, just needed to rest a bit before the next match starts. "I'll be fine." He said if Aerwyna happened to ask whether or not he as fine.

The crowd started to go wild about five minutes later. The next round must be getting ready to start. That was all right with Rai; he was starting to feel better after treating his bruised body. "We should get ready, Rai." Aerwyna said. Rai got up off the bench he moved himself over to. He did some stretches to make sure nothing was hurting too much, and he was well enough to move without it affecting him in combat. The announcer called them out once again, and they entered the arena. This time their opponents was a female detective from INTERPOL and what seemed to be a... Striper? At least she looked like one with her tight outfit. Rai remembers these two fighters well; they have a similar fighting style to his own meaning they fight mostly using their legs.

"Don't go easy on me just because I work for INTERPOL. I want a real fight." Detective Chun stated. "Same applies to me as well." Said Cam. They seemed to like a challenge, but they shouldn't be too difficult to deal with. If Rai had to fight them both alone, he might have worked up a bit of a sweat. However, he has Aerwyna backing him up so it should be entertaining at the least. Rai got in his ready stance waiting for the announcer to signal they can start. "Just don't bore me like the last two chumps we fought." Rai responded.
