    Howdy!

So I was contemplating, and it hit me that it should be the guilds themselves who host any of their mages' S-Class exams. For any guildless members, they can host their own, they way everybody currently does. I think guildmasters should nominate 4-12 mages that are on the same rank to take part in the xam that the guildmasters create. If you have any questions or concerns, don't refrain from asking :P !

Guildmasters do determine the exam or the aces if its not S rank.
So its not determined by staff or anything.

Each exam is personal and your guildmaster runs it when you have enough exp. Or if you're guildless its run by a staff member.

Wait, then what is that section where users just created their own exams and then were approved?

And also, I still think it would be cool if it were a group thing (like in Fairy Tail) because it ignites more competition as its a race for everybody to attain the same achievement.

The bit with the exams is for people to show the exp they have to get approved for the rank up and for the exam to start.

Its not done as a group thing because it is very rare we get more than a couple of people who hit S rank at anywhere near the same time so to force some to wait just because others haven't got there yet would be cruel.

S rank is not some mystical thing like in fairy tail where only so many S ranks get chosen. Its literally you've proved yourself worthy and gained the magical power necessary to be S rank so now do this exam the guildmaster/whoever has written in order to prove you are ready to do higher ranked jobs.

That being said rank is not the be all and end all and i've had just as much fun with my D rank characters as I have my S rank or above characters.

You can bring people with you on your exams and if you hit the same rank as another at the same time you can ask to do the exam together, but only if you are in the same guild, but yeah making people wait to complete an exam is pretty cruel and won't happen, fairy tail is a manga where one writer (and several assistants) and control the story perfectly, while this is a role play with many writers, liberties need to be taken for it to function.

If you just read my exam or something... (since I linked it and did it by myself recently)

Guild masters give you prompts for your exam, but if you discuss it with them you can often choose to do something that is part of your character's plot, as long as you meet what they determine to be a good word requirement/ plot requirement/ quality... etc.  That way there's flexibility too.
