Haia looks towards the sky, eyes squinting as the rays of sunshine both empower her and blind her vision. The Sky Tower, her research has brought her here. She looks towards the path she took, she was not going to see this place for a good week, assuming she reaches the top. It was no joke when it was called the Sky Tower. She could not see the top of the tower even on her travel here. Grompy sat beside her, croaking as he sat with his huge bulging wise purple eyes staring at her.

"Make up your mind, ascend or not?" The huge poisonous toad said without moving a muscle. Haia sighed and looked back at the huge frog. She knows that toad can't talk, but she knows he and her are connected in thoughts, and says what he wants to her through telepathy. At least he is decent enough not to do it all the time. She cleared her throat.

"Of course we ascend, would suck if I came all this way here, with like weeks of research to just leave the place, plus its a big hassle to move you around everywhere," Haia smirks at her sassy remark but the toad had thick skin, and a fabulous sense of humor. In the frog equivalent of a laugh, he hops towards the ancient structure. Haia shakes her head and follows the amphibian, a flaunt in her steps.

The architecture of the tower was one reason it drawn Haia to the place. Though abandoned other than the small groups of monsters that inhabit the dark halls now and then, it has rarely shown age nor wear and tear. Yet she could feel the age and how ancient it is as she walks through. Loud thumping and croaking echoes through the halls that endlessly spiral towards the sky. Haia stops for a moment and looks towards a window, it seems Gromp took noticed and stops, soft croaking as he stares towards the window too. Wyverns flew past the tower in the distance, their size seemingly tiny from where the tower was. After a while, they left their view and they pressed onwards up the tower. The daunting spiral staircase, wider than Haia's own room, and steps short enough to easily forget they are steps. Boots clicked against the cobblestone and marble remnants that remained untouched while sloppy webbed feet slapped loudly against the stone and moss. The whole journey to the stop was silent, very silent with the exception of their footsteps and the occasional wind that blows stronger and stronger the higher they went.

A bit soon, Haia was beginning to feel lightheaded. Most of her stamina has been drained trying to ascend the tower's stairs. The air was thin and Haia beginning to feel colder as the temperature slowly dropped. Haia makes herself a small blue flame, warmth enveloping her fingertips. Grompy was not faring as well either. He shifted himself close to the window as possible to gain sunlight to bathe his wart covered skin. She looks out the window as she sat on the stairs. She could see Magnolia in ths distance, its tiny city skyline barely visible but she recognizes the fireworks that continously explode above the city. Evening was falling and it was getting colder. Haia kept a fire going to keep both her and Grompy warm as they continue to ascend the tower. Just how much longer she has to go, she is uncertain herself as she continues her slow ascent to the sky above. The sky is the limit they said. Haia was not going to make that the limit for herself. The stairs begun to feel more tough and rough, and her footsteps begun to be more heavy and slow. Grompy was losing strength though.

"Hey... Grompy, how much higher? Think your fat ass can make it?" Grompy definitely took offense, and Haia smiled. That gave him the push he needed to go higher with some strength, but she knows it is not going to last. Haia takes a few steps towards the balcony that lead outside the tower. They were very high up, even higher than the mountains themselves. She could see the blanket of white soft clouds above the tower. Then she saw hope. They only needed to ascend just a bit more. Haia ran back to Grompy and picked the toad king up. Surprised, Lord Grompulus Kevin Ribbiton of Croaksworth let out a huge croak, causing the walls to vibrate. Wings of black and blue fire burst forth from her back and theheat was enough to send them into an updraft, slowly ascending the stairways but a much quicker pace than before. Flights of stairs begun to be a gray blur below her and Grompy that the frog had to croak.

"You could have done this like.... At the very bottom of the tower..." The frog king croaked with some annoyance in his voice.

"I'm very happy to just let go of your warty body~" Haia chimed and Gromp just remained silent throughout the flight to the Sky Tower's peak. That was her goal. The peak. That was what Haia had intended to do in the first place ever since arriving. They said something special is there. And she would be happy to use it as her flight continued slowly but surely, to the top of the Sky Tower, her black and blue wings carrying her slowly above the stairs.

Soon the temperature dropped more and the air became thinner. Haia could see the light of the top above, but her wings, they were still fire, they needed to air to at least continue burning at the volume they were going to keep her in the air. The wing diminished at the final steps and she plummets to the stairs, Gromp taking most of the impact and holding them steady from their roll down the stairs. Somehow his webbed feet managed to stay on the cobblestone stairs. Haia watched Gromp, he was not feeling the best right now, so she took a deep breath and lifted the frog up with her bare hands. Haia then took steady steps up the stairs, regretting the decision to bring Grompy to this mission, but he is here, and this is no time to regret anything like that. So when they reached the top of the stairs, she heaved the massive toad on to the top and clambered up, unsure of what awaits the toad and herself on the top. Haia hopes it is not danger, the climb took alot from them.

Haia could stand here all day. The top of the Sky Tower was as beautiful as they say in her research. The clouds were level to her, sometimes they would brush over her feet as they pass the tower. Grompy's big bulging eyes stared at the gem that was held up by two stone griffons, his eyes' wet surface reflecting the gem's radiant light. Haia however was busy taking in the beauty. Looking to the North, at least to her prediction, she sees the Royal Palace, surrounded by the evergreen forest that circles the castle walls. Her eyes laid upon the massive beanstalk that stood proudly and grew to the sky, Beanstalk village is near that place, but she is not planning to climb that monster anytime after this ascent of the Sky Tower. And her first mental note is, never bring Grompy to climb huge towers. Haia's eyes smiles as she stared at she presumed was Rose Garden, the color of rainbows filling its skies as always.

Haia faced the South, if her North is correct, and stares at the wonders that behold her. It may not be as colorful and scenic as the North, but sight of plain nothingness in the horizon, with the exception of tiny dots that resemble a village, gives her a sense of serene and tranquilty. Haia took a deep breath, the air maybe thin here, but somehow it feels her with a calming and refreshing breath of air.

Her eyes then wander to the East, the sun was no longer in that sight, with the glow of evening slowly setting upon the tower, Fiore, Earthland and beyond. Haia could see more fireworks being set off in the distance, shrouded in forest. Her guess would be Magnolia Town, the most festive town, and she could see Clover Lake's reflective shimmering surface. Then her eyes laid upon fiery red mountains, she swears she could see lava flowing down. The Inferno Mountains fascinated her, but her main interest still remains here.

The giant crystal of white that was perched upon two griffins. The sight was spectacular itself, and with the sun setting, the crystal reflected the light so wonderously and beautifully, the speckled rays casted upon the roof that was now their floor. Haia's gaze shined with awe and amazement, a rare look for anyone who knows her. The sunsets beyond and the blanket of orange becomes stained in black ink, revealing the white holes of the heavens known as the stars. Slowly, the crystal became like a white star, shining with the brilliance of the heavens. Her theory on why its existence is a rumor despite its bright light, is that fact it is so high, it almost seems like a star in the sky. Haia looks at Grompy, who seems to have recovered from his ascent and approaches the great frog king.

"You okay there Grompy?" Haia asked with concern in her tone, all she got was a massive croak from good old Ribbiton. Rolling her eyes, she approached the crystal. Suddenly, the crystal flashed brightly, a light so bright it seems to have turned night to day and wind bles strongly. The Sky Tower was empty, save for the white crystal and the griffons that held it upon their talons. It was as if Haia and Grompy was never there.

    Waaaaaaaa!
Haia flew through what seems like a vortex, she had no control of her body, something was pulling her, like the power of gravity itself has strengthen. Haia stares into what seems like an endless tunnel, all in a brilliant white light, but sometimes different colors would appear. Green, red, blue, violet, pink. Haia identified every color she could as they flew past her like the streaks of lights there are. Her eyes darted around for a frog but the massive amphibian was no where to be found. The last thing she remember was touching the crystal and a shining light flashed before she found herself flying thorugh this endless vortex of light. Haia tried to conjure magic but it seems to have left her. Just what is going on? Haia then felt her speed slow and the tunnel seems to end. Just what was at the end?

A hole in the sky appeared and out shot a small 19 year old girl and she slammed face first into the ground. Haia groans and rolls to face up. The hole disappears and leaves a brilliant clear sky. Haia wanted to admire to the scenery, green trees with their foliage, blocking light, forcing the sun's rays to pierce the holes and spaces of the leaves and branches. The green felt nice too, and the familiar damp smell of dirt and leaves surrounds her. But it was short lived. Haia heard a sound, she jumps to her feet, her eyes and ears now on alert. Another sound. It was moving through the bushes, trees and branches, its feet crushing dried leaves and branches. Haia reached her back, and froze. Her long bow, named Orion, was no where to be felt. Panic begun to consume her, she was not going to lose it. Then the sound got really close. A twig snaps.

As if on reflex, her natural instinct was to send a bola of light towards whatever was making the sound, for one second after turning around, in throwing posture, she thought she saw someone familiar, a sense of nostalgia and familiarity. A feeling that she remembers so well when she first became his student. She has not seen his face since 6 years ago, tears welling up, she was worried, she was hoping, she was happy. Haia could give the figure a hug right now, and stay like that forever.

It was her master, the one who taught her Lux De Hope, the one who brought her a light of hope. Nicoleas Aria Dee Guzman. Haia watched the bola get easily flung away by a swift movement of Nicoleas's hand. The wind seemed to blow for a moment. Haia immediately ran up to Nicoleas but he side step and gave her a knee to the gut. Haia flew back and hits the bark of a fig tree, its leaves shake in agitation. Groaning, she got up to face a smiling Nicoleas. Haia smiles back, arm still around her abdomen. To any outsider, this may seem like a man wanting to beat Haia up, to them however, it was just Nicoleas trying to avoid one very very strong bear hug from a girl no bigger than him.
"Now here's someone who definitely seems different," Nicoleas chuckled. Haia scanned the man before her. He looks pretty much the same. Same messy black hair, with same peach skin, same brown eyes. Haia smiles at the sense of kinship. Nicoleas still stood at his regular height, slouching shoulders behind the sleeves of his oversized winter coat. Haia always wanted to ask why he wore it but never had the courage to ask. Her gaze went down to his bottoms wear. Bermudas and a pair of boots. Haia always thought Nicoleas had the weirdest of garbs, but he never seemed to be bothered by the temperature of his body. Always wondered if Nicoleas is even human.
Haia got to her feet and laughed.
"And you are just plain old old Nicky!" Haia curls up, laughing louder. But Nicoleas gave the smug look. Haia then was hit with a bit of an awful truth. Everything here is just a projection of her memories. Haia looks around, she remembers this forest. The same forest had that fig trees. She could remember this spot, where Nicoleas would make her run laps, and it always this same spot that she would count. Lap 1, lap 2, lap 3. Always this spot. And Nicoleas would sit.
Over there... Haia could see the stump that Nicoleas would sit whenever he wanted Haia to run laps. He was not there obviously, he was standing before her, but her nostalgia was certainly strong, reminiscing the times. Haia then saw something on the stump. Orion. Nicoleas gave a raised eyebrow before smiling.

Nicoleas approached the long bow and picks the ironwood weapon up, and his fingers trail the fine frame and his eyes glaze over the finely shaved wooden surface. His smiled widen before his gaze looks up over to Haia.
"You still owe me some jewels you know?" Nicoleas gave Haia a cheeky smile before tossing the longbow at her, who grabbed it with fumbling fingers as she finally remembered. Haia remembers that day, when they part, she was given a loan from Nicoleas to buy Orion and his arrows. Haia stares at the longbow in her hand, she kept it precious for a reason, and she remembers the reason now. This bow is technically the only physical thing left that helped her remember the fun times they had when they were still training together, back in Hargeon Town. Haia wonders if the inn is still there. A snap of two fingers brought her back to reality.
"You certainly have yet to change in personality!" Nicoleas's jolly laughter spreads throughout the forest. Haia looks away before violently swinging the frame into Nicoleas's face and the force knocks him to the ground. She gives the light mage a few more kicks in the shin, and telling him to shut up but all she got was his laughter. It was not long before he healed himself, a spell Haia remembers. Angel's Light. And idea then struck her.
"Hey Nicky, how about a friendly spar?" Haia asked her old mentor as she sticks a hand out, wiggling her finger and the mage smiles and takes hold of her hand before with what people may call inhuman strength for a girl, pulls Nicoleas up and gives him a slap on the back, only for him to get knocked to the ground.
"You still suck at standing up don't ya Nicky?" Haia laughed mockingly before getting swept of her feet and being sent flying by a ball of light. Haia regains control of herself quickly before narrowly dodging another ball of light. Nicoleas's Lux De Hope was taught by another mage, one Haia remembers Nicoleas barely talks about. But now it was no time to ask, as she dives behind a tree when a ball of light flee towards her again. Nicoleas fought differently from her, so some of her spells were different from her mentors. Haia was afraid of using actual arrows, since this was just a friendly spar between mentor and mentoree. So Haia pulled light and turns in into an arrow and draws her bowstring, to find Nicoleas gone. The descendant of the white witch grits her teeth together as from the corner of her eye, another ball of light came charging towards and scrapes Haia's cheek. Haia then fires her light arrow towards the direction she predicts Nicoleas has gone, she needed visibility of the area and Nicoleas.
Swiftly she travels up the trunk of a fig tree and leaps like a monkey, makes her way across tree to tree, with no visible shaking either. There she saw the mage robed in his oversized coat, the fabric was snagged. A smile gree across her face. The arrow impaled the cloth of the oversized coat and pinned him to the ground. Haia raised her bow atop of a tree branch and fire another light arrow at his coat. It whistles through the air, alerting the mentor mage and he removes his coat, revealing his vest that he wore beneath, avoiding the arrow. He fires a stream of light at the tree and blasts its trunk into splinters. Haia rushes to the top of the tree and makes a superman dive for the next. When Haia recovers herself, she looks around, Nicoleas once again was gone from her sight.
"Sneaky little basket," Haia cursed before she begun another leap onto a tree and finds herself flying through the air, going nowhere near the tree she intended to jump to. Her lithe body slams onto a fig tree of a further distance. Haia grasps her gut where she was struck. Nicoleas was sure sneaky. Haia swiftly back to the ground. She needed to be a bit smarter when it came to fighting her mentor. Haia makes her way across the terrain swiftly and holding her bow securely in her hands. This is going to be one big game of hide and seek.

Night falls in the forest, Haia chews upon a loaf of bread, her mentor sitting at the campfire that she made. The girl was covered in bruises and various scratches, with no exception for the her mentor. The afternoon spar had them battling for a good long time, arrows flew and balls of light were blasted. Couple of the trees around the group has gaps in the trunk and splinters across the tough bark, the wind stoke the flames and cinders get carried by the cool draft. Haia looks at her old mentor, and their eyes met.
"So Haia, what have you been up to these days?" Nicoleas asked as he brought his loaf of bread to his mouth, a little blood oozed from his cut cheek as his teeth gnawed the bread to bits.
Haia looks down, bringing a lock of hair to the back of her ear as she chewed on another bite, wincing as she feels a sting at the back of her neck. She finally looks up again and opens her mouth to answer.
"All I have been doing is got myself in situations I do not wish to reveal," As much as Haia would love to pour her memories on to her mentor, she wanted to refrain herself, some of the she had were pleasant, others she rather not even mention. Haia was not sure was it because she was afraid, or just she wanted to be discreet. Sometimes she wonders about herself. Nicoleas looked at his former student and sighs, Haia was always a tough nut to crack. Then he perks up, this time his mind on a different question.
    "What's with the new look?"
This time, Haia gave herself little time to think about her answer, after all she kind off expected that question.
"Oh this look?, simply just the case of, I need to start over, I can't simply keep up my norm and hence, I choose to give myself this fresh new look, I still kept the old outfit though," Haia said with her usual sass laced in her sentence, which surprised Nicoleas, since he was more used to the shy and introverted girl he met at the inn. But he felt glad for the change, Haia was always the type of girl to be sheepish and easily bashful. To see her become quite expressive and with some tongue and spine to her, definitely that is a good improvement.
Eventually the fire dies, all that is left is the orange glows of the cinders and ashes of the once existing fire, leaving nothing but a warm hearth of wood. The two chat away, catching up on old times. Yet somehow, Haia felt it was not a reunion, but a recollection of memories. Slowly the thought died off and so did the rest of the fire. The two rest, the moon's shine over them.
Sometime in midnight, Haia woke up, and found Nicoleas no longer around, no trees were insight nor was anything, just a black void.
It suddenly shifts and a burst of colors sprung forth from nowhere and froms a scene. It was night still, Haia felt uncomfortable and stuffy, she also realized there was a huge pink wall covered in dirt around her. It then strucks her, the "wall" is actually pig flesh, and she was in a pig cart. The sound of hooves slowly trotting over gravel and dirt was the only sound that broke the silence. Once in a while she would hear sounds of grunts and brays, only with an old man talking to himself about the weather. Haia wanted to move, but found herself incapable of doing it. Haia struggles to move a limb, she could feel her legs were clear of any sort of pig, but yet moving them was like trying to lift a ten ton boulder. Eventually it was clear her movement was prohibited by a mysterious force. So she silently accepted her fate, but as she did, she woke up for real this time.

Haia stirs as light bathes her eyelids. Slowly, she pushes herself to open her sleepy eyes. Grass blades, such a familiar sight. The dew signified the sun has only rised. Haia raised a finger onto a dew drop and catches it upon her flesh, before bringing it to her mouth and kissing her finger. Dew was sweet, tasted like grass but sweet nonetheless. The texture of her finger touched her lips. They were rough, yet had ample softness to them. Living rough does that, she thought to herself. Slowly her finger moves away and Haia pushes herself into a sitting position, with legs spread. Nicoleas was no where to be seen. Haia smiled, she knew exactly what he was doing, and always loved to pull this prank when he does.
Haia smiled mischievously, there he was, in the stream nearby, taking a bath. As expected, his shorts were as he layed on the pebbles. Haia remembers the little morning practice reminds him on home. Haia stares in wonder, but where his home could be. Honestly she has no clue.

And so she begins her little prank. From afar, she throws trail of light like a lasso around the clothes he left to dry in the morning sun, though with the sun just raising she wonders why. Then she tugs quickly and the clothes are brought to her. Michieviously, she climbs up a tree top and hides the clothes there, but made sure the sun was bathing them in its light.

Then hiding in the bushes, she spied her former mentor with an eager grin to see his face. Haia remembers tricking the old man into thinking it was one of those beariapes that live in the area that took the clothes into the trees. Haia shifts down, wanting to keep relaxed and quiet.
"ARRRRRGGGGH! BEARIAPES!" Haia held in her laughter when she heard his cry of anger. Haia quickly glances to see a wet Nicoleas gritting his teeth, and hands closed ready to punch. Quickly, Haia returns back to the camp site and prepares to make breakfast. Why was she the only one here who could cook?

Nicoleas stood by the fire, arms crossed over his bare chest and looking rather, crossed. Haia snickkers at the sight of her mentor shivering despite the warm fire that tickled the firewood. An iron pot was hung over the flames, bubbling inside was an orange substances that emits a wonderful aroma. The girl was busy tending to the broth while her teacher mutters something to him as he dries up slowly. Haia looks at the pot, nostrils filled with the scent of her cooking. Who knew her prepardness would come in handy. Meanwhile her mentor had dashed into the woods, obviously determined to find his clothes.

Haia sips her soup, and sighed, the heat stinging her tongue a bit as warm breath was exhaled. Nicoleas looked downcast and the novelty of the prank has worn off. Haia then puts her dish down and walks away, Nicoleas obviously ignoring the fact of the sudden departure.

    Post by Triple_Hell 6th March 2017, 5:33 am

The afternoon sun burns brightly upon the earth, its sadistic rays bath the hungry trees and grass lucky enough not to burn in the heat. Haia had a change of clothes, to something more comfortable for the day. As she let's loose brown long hair, she looks to the ground in thought.
Haia remembers being at the top of the Sky Tower, an accomplishment she is proud of honestly. It was when she touched the crystal did she find herself zipping through a magical portal and ending up here. Wherever here is. Haia knows it was the forest that they used to train in, but yet she feels the sense of strangeness and unfamiliarity. It bugs her, it bugs her so much. Haia lets go of her hair bow, watching the yellow and black ribbon fall to the ground slowly, but quickly snaps back to reality and grabs it. She hastily puts the ribbon into her hair and ties a ponytail. Haia yawns and stretches, the afternoon warmth was nice in the damp cool undergrowth of the forest, nice for a nap. Haia then hears movement in the bushes and looks towards the direction and sees her mentor pop out from the bushes.
"So Haia, ready for another marathon?" Her teacher laughed and she laughs too.
Haia was now wearing rather loose fitting clothing, a green tunic and a pleat skirt, prefect for a bit of outdoor running. She wore shorts underneath the skirt. Haia smiled and heads for the stump. Nicoleas did not need to bother asking, it was just things they understand about each other.
Haia finds herself doing a much more exciting marathon around the forest. Nicoleas was firing bolts of light at her from the front while she ran. Not only did she had to converse her stamina much better, she had to judge the direction of the bolt of light and where it went. She is going to finish this run. Haia ducks under a bolt of light, and flips over another one. Her pace remained steady and not a pant was coming from her. She had been doing this for so long, and she was not going to disappoint, even with the bolts of light that came her way. It did not take long for Nicoleas to start to up the difficulty. He started running behind Haia and fired from behind. Haia definitely found the marathon much harder, struggling to both maintain pace and dodge her mentor's attacks. Haia narrowly dodges a bolt and it strikes a tree branch. Haia smiles and runs to the tree and kicks it, causing the giant flora to quiver and shake before the branch falls in front Nicoleas, blocking his movement for the while. Haia expends a bit more stamina into running further ahead. She was smiling from ear to ear.

Haia has been running for what felt hours, she was sure the forest would have ended by now, it would indicate her need to turn around. Haia keeps running, then she stops. Haia did nothing but stare. White, white for as far as the eye can see, nothing but a blank sheet of white. It glares brightly and mercilessly tells her about this place and why it bugs her so much. It was all fake. This whole place, nothing but a fake, an illusion. She growls, blue flames burst from the ground and white light descends from the sky, the cloud turn grey and a bright halo was shining upon Haia. Haia then hears Nicoleas burst from the bushes. The girl turns sharply, and aims a sword of light at his head.
The blade harmlessly misses the mentor, only grazing his hair and she takes a sucker punch. She was sent flying into the white land, mysteriously solid and served as her barrier against Nicoleas. Haia did not know what to say. Slowly the girl gets up, hand still clutching a radiant sword. Rage consumed her, but not before she had her questions answered, from a weird voice. It echoed in her head, constantly booming. Haia drops to her knees and hears so many voices, yet they all spoke the same tongue, the same words, with each accent similar yet different.
"You are but in an illusion, naught but a lie, but not without sin..." The voices said, in unison and it echoes, bringing her a tremendous headache. Haia screams as her head begins to ache and pain, tears welling up.
"Life is cruel, we must reward.great achievers, thus is the reward of reunion with a teacher..." The echoeing stops, her head becoming clear of the experience she felt and she looks up, the forest disappears and slowly forms a great plain, wide with small hills causing curves in the distance. The glorious sun shines over the land and bathes Haia and her mentor in its rays. Haia could feel energy surged through her. Haia finds her bow back in her hand, with a quiver of arrows on her belt. A voice spoke in her head once again, but instead of a plethora of voices speaking like sync and tone, it was gentle, like a summer breeze, almost like a silk touch of the wind. Haia never heard this voice in her life, but yet, it brings comfort to her, like someone she should know but does not. Haia felt her cheek, for some reason, it felt like someone kissed her. It told her. Be brave and defeat your mentor, you two will meet another day.
Haia looks at her mentor, he exhibits the brave stance, just like how he always would in battle. The atmosphere, this was no fight to the death, but it felt like a farewell. Haia gripped her bow, the iron wood craft quivers under her strength but remains stoic. Haia's sky blue eye shine with determination. This battle is not going to decide her fate now, but maybe it would set her on a path never ventured in her life. Whatever the outcome, she shall smile victorious.

Nicoleas gives Haia the smug grin. Haia remembers, back in the good old days, she first found the man sulking and looking very gloomy. Haia was willing to listen to his sorrows, and thus their friendship grew and soon, Nioleas recognize her as a potential mage and taught her magic. The beauty of it, was what made her so determined to learn magic. And now, as a whip made of light narrowly misses her, she is determined to show her mentor that she is capable of using her magic to the fullest. Haia fired an arrow, Valkyrie's Blade, the sword of brilliant light shines before it was set loose from the bowstring and sent flying through the air, a trail of holy light behind it, making it look like a shooting star. Nicolead easily grabs the sword by its hilt, before throwing it back at Haia, who in turn rolls away from it. Haia swears, there goes a spell for a while. Haia begins to dash away, to gain distance before she sends another arrow flying.at Nicoleas. This time was a bingo. The steel impales itself into Nicoleas's thigh and caused with to stumble and falls, breaking the arrow in the process but keeping the arrow wound in. Haia smiles. Has she?

Then she felt a punch to the gut and was sent skyward. The impact was quite the punch to knock her out of sense for the time she was in the air. The jab afterwards crashed her into. A tavern wall? Haia groans, hands clutched around her gut. Normally a human would immediately be dead, guess being a mage has its perks. Haia immediately casts Blessing upon herself before blocking an attack with her fire. It certainly had an effect. Whatever has attacking her stumble backwards. It has huge golem, made from light itself. The fire was biting into it like a feral cat. Haia watches it panic before tripping over its own feet and crashing on the floor. Haia watches the fire and the golem disappear. Then Nicoleas crashed in through the front door. Haia smiled. Her bow was with her and arrows were locked into the quiver. Quickly she unleashes a barrage of arrows at him, slowly backing away with each shot fired. Nicoleas blocks them with a dome shield before cupping his hands together and sending a light beam at her, a very big one in fact. Haia rolls underneath it, surviving the attack narrowly. Haia raised her bow once again, and aimed for the knee. She lets loose and an arrow and quickly runs up the stairs. As she reaches the top, the scene suddenly changes again. Haia finds herself falling down and rolling down a hill. When she reaches the bottom, she looks up. The smell of grass is familiar, the dawn to the horizon too. As much of a situation she is in, Haia could not help but, sit down and admire the scenary. For some odd reason, she felt no longer a hostile atmosphere. Haia looks at the tree, her mentor was just standing there. Nicoleas has just standing there, staring into the dawn, tears welling up in his eyes. Slowly he starts to bring his hand together, before muttering under his breath.

"Life's Virtue of Forgiveness, may the Light of Hope forgive, Tonabit de Lumine!"

Thunder starts crashing upon the land, but Haia could see it was not lightning, but beams of light striking the earth like lightning. Haia gets up, Haia remembers now. This hill was the day they left each other to pursue each other's pathes. Haia wonders where he went after that day, but now with beams of light striking, Haia needed to hit him. Haia reaches for her. Where is it? Haia panicked, her bow is gone. Nicoleas showed now signs of stopping his spell as light strikes him and he holds what seem like a huge bolt of lighting, and sends it at Haia.

Haia raises her hand and dome blocks the attack, the light coursing around the dome before diminishing into nothingness. Nicoleas looks up, before dropping to his knees. The world slowly shifts around, Haia finds herself, next to her mentor, under the tree, looking down upon her injured teacher. The spell must have took alot out of him. Slowly, she kneels down and removes Nicoleas's shirt and jacket. Haia then reaches down and pulls out an arrow head, embedded in his side. Slowly, she removes her glove and touches the wound. Haia does not pull away her hand when her mentor winced, as light seems to emit out of her fingers, the aura that glows around her dirty nails and rough fingers slowly root them into the bloody wound, stitching the flesh slowly as the blood slowly stops seeping out. Haia sighs, and keeps her hand steady, the wound so deep, so it was going to take sometime. Nicoleas looks at Haia, before looking down and stayed silent. Then he smiles.

"Haia, there are somethings I'm sure, you will feel guilty about, this is not one of them," Nicoleas laughs before coughing a bit of blood out. Haia remains looking down at the wound, her hand still and straight like a wooden beam, as the light continues to restore her mentor. Nicoleas looks up, and his smile fades. Tears fell upon his chest. Haia sobs silently, hand still over her mentor's wound, a wound that she cause without hesitation. Haia wonders to herself on what is wrong with her, why was she acting like this, why had she acted like that. Her hand continues to be over her mentor, the aura slowly becoming dimmer. The feeling of depression was slowly consuming her, and Nicoleas what that would mean for a Lux De Hope mage. Slowly he grabs her other hand, and squeezes it tightly. He coughs, blood staining their hands, the sticky feeling of saliva and blood was both distracting and making Haia feel more depressed. Nicoleas then spoke again.

I'm not the real Nicoleas, I know I'm nothing like him, just an illusion created by the Gem of Time. I know where your frog friend is, and I know that is safe and taking the time he has here rather calmly. He will return to you Haia, so don't fathom now. I'm not gonna die, and nor is the real Nicoleas, wherever the man may be. I understand if, the feeling of betrayal and disgust is poking at you with pointed swords. I may not be Nicoleas, but I know how he is to you Haia, he was a friend, he was your mentor, he was your family. The gem wants you to know that, that losing sight of your goals and dreams, means also forgetting ones roots and the power that they grew from. I see in you, you killed an old man, not out of hatred, but because the man wanted you too. But don't you realize? That spell you used? Valkyrie's Blade? It was thanks to your contribution to Valhalla. I'm sure you can make use of, what you have now, even if you find yourself changing for the worst of the better. I'm sure the real Nicoleas will be proud!" Nicoleas tries to end his sentence with a smile, but could not as Nicoleas felt rejuvenated, and Haia was smiling, her eyes glowing with light, white light. Nicoleas saw in her eyes, darkness and light, mixing together, dancing like a couple in sync. The mentor smiles, before putting his hand on where his wound used to be, and found it was gone. Haia sat down, panting, the flicker of glow disappeared in her eyes as the girl looks towards the skies with a smile, a bright smile in her pale face. Nicoleas looks at the young girl, and slowly gets up. Haia looks at him, not worrying about his situation, but rather gave him a determined smile as she gets up too. Haia then looks around. Her bow is still missing. The girl quickly runs down the hill, with a curious Nicoleas. The grass was tall and the girl was short, shorter than an average 19 year old girl actually, but Nicoleas could see the grass part as Haia moves through them. Nicoleas looks up, and smiles. The wind blows again, like a summer breeze. The sense of serenity and tranquility slowly dances around, embracing the student and the teacher. Haia seems to have wandered far, her boots stepping through the towering grass slowly. Haia wants to find her bow, Orion. Orion was the only thing that kept her to her roots, the roots of her magic, the reason she stays determined, the reason why she still remembers her roots. Haia needed it, needed it back now. The bow was needed back. Then she heard a voice call out to her. Nicoleas's voice. Nicoleas must know. Haia quickly runs through the grass before suddenly the world changes and she falls through the darkness, quickly being pushed back up and resting back on a hill. Nicoleas looked down at his student and laughs.

"Haia, you really really need to stop charging into things you know. Come let's just talk about life, you know before you go about finding your bow. Come just sit." Haia does so, and her mentor sits beside her.

You know Nicky, I really miss you, I was so happy to finally see you, but then, this world is fake and that you are fake too. It was disappointing, I was determined to find out the truth. But then... When you casted that spell... I saw, you were crying. Why were you crying?" Haia looks at her mentor, with blue eyes full of curiosity. Nicoleas looks away, and chuckles to himself, with a look of lament and sorrow, yet he smiles brightly.

"You know girl, sometimes I wish I didn't let you ask so many questions/ Come, you aren't getting out of here anytime soon. Not until you give me a proper beating, and some recollection of our times together." Nicoleas gets up and raised his fists. Haia sighs, that was her mentor, always determined to get pumped up. Haia always wondered why. But Haia raised her fists and jabs before falling. Nicoleas laughed.

"You didn't need to actually to punch me, you already defeated me during that brawl anyway!" Her mentor bursts into jolly laughter, and Haia laughs along. Slowly she gets up, and hugs Nicoleas. The mentor smiles and then hands Haia Orion. Haia bursts into tears and quickly hugs her weapon, no her treasure. She squeezes the iron wood frame. Nicoleas looks at Haia, and smiles. Haia then looks at Nicoleas's feet, it was glowing, and becoming transparent, the grass below his boots slowly becoming visible. Haia gasped. Nicoleas just smiles and hugs the girl. Haia squeezes him tightly, crying over his bare chest. The girl weeps as slowly, Nicoleas fades. The world also starts to fade. Haia looks around, scared of what is happening. Nicoleas gives her a reassuring smile before stepping away from Haia. He looks at the girl with a smile on his fading face.

"I'm sure you will meet the real Nicoleas one day Haia, I know you,"
Then Haia felt a tug, like something was trying to pull her into the sky. Haia looks up and sees the portal, the same portal that brought her here. Haia shakes her head. The girl looks at Nicoleas in tears.

"But what if I never do?" Haia asked, tears flowing down her cheeks like a waterfall, dropping onto her bow that she was clutching with all her might. Haia feels herself losing grip on the ground. Nicoleas continues smiling before giving her a two finger salute. The girl was shot into the sky and into the portal. Haia could now see what the flashing things were. They were her memories, memories of her days with Nicoleas. Each one, the nostalgia was making her cry even more, her arms wrapped around the bow like it was the last thing she wanted lose in her life. Then she blacks out.

Haia slowly stirs, the world seems so... dark... Haia sits up, and hears croaking. Her hand grips the stone beneath her, it was cool, like the morning cool. Haia rubs her eyes, and cleans her eyes, they felt sore and swollen. Grompy was hopping about, worried. Haia makes a groan, the frog king immediately hops over and shakes the girl. Haia looks at her frog companion and gives the toad a friendly punch to the stomach. The toad croaks and pushes the girl. Haia laughs and sits up. With a smile, the kind that would come from an innocent young girl who went through a long day, and opens her mouth.

"So what happened Grompy?" Haia asked the amphibian while panting, taking in the fresh air. The frog chuckled and his body just shakes like jelly. The frog went on about how he met his father, the one who taught him how to become the king of toads and frogs, Lord Grompulus Kevin Ribbiton of Croaksworth hopped up and down proudly to meet his dead father. Haia laughed, the toad was usually, grumpy but a real chuckle. Haia pats the huge frog before going to the edge of the tower. The gem was no longer glowing. Haia looks towards the east where the sun slowly rose. she could feel energy flow through her, her mana slowly regenerating. Then the girl turns around and looks at Grompy.

"Hey Grompy, can you like, figure out a way to get to the tower quickly, I don't think you would like to jump down," The girl bursts into laughter at the over sized frog's face when she talked about jumping down. The king started to fuss that it would take him forever to hop all the way down to the ground, and he was not going to tolerate going down on his own and suffer the loss of stamina like they did when they ascended the tower. Haia laughed more. Haia finds her bow on the floor and puts in around her. Sighing while laughing, she finally devised a plan to descend. Using her fire, she makes a solid surfboard, which looks amazing, and puts Grompy on it. Haia then jumps on it and they begin to slide down the stairs. Her cheers and excitement could be heard as she begins to slide down, surprisingly smoothly too as they descend in a swirl. Haia then slowly descends into her subconsciousness, she wonders about Nicoleas's well being, about Noheme's well being, about her own well being. The world is so big, and it has been so long since she saw Nicoleas in the flesh, and so long since she has been to Seven in fact. Haia brushes her hair as she turns the board around a board. The sun was slowly rising in, and so was Haia's ambitions, she sets her sights on her past. So much of it is a fog, a fog she wishes to uncover. Black and white flicker in her eyes as they keep descending down the tower. Haia also wonders about that night, that night with her aunt. Just what happened back then. So many questions. The Gem of Time, it was said to reveal things, but it just gave her more questions. Just what was waiting for her, what was waiting... Haia shakes her head, now was not the time to question stuff, but the questions will still bother her for the time, and that means more writing, more research, more time to think. Haia sighs, before hearing the frog croak. Haia nods, she should concentrate on the path. Slowly, the stairs revealed a light at the bottom and both Haia and Grompy smiled. Time to leave the tower and head for home.
