- Job Title: Slavery problem in Bellum
Rank: D
Player Requirements: Must be at least D-Rank; Own a passport
Job Requirements: 5 posts. 100 words per post or a single post of 500+ words
Job Location: Bellum
Job Description: Theres a minor well... not minor, but rather very major problem with Bellum that involves slaves. The job however is minor scale in comparison. This job comes from a few residents in Bellum that couldn't dare ask their own country to stop the slavery and to abolish it. No, instead they turned to Fiore's own mages for help with this incident. Except this is fairly small. Due to Bellum enslaving all non-magical beings, those that are born without magic typically get abducted by someone with magic, and sold into slavery. Well, this doesn't always sit right with parents. In this scenario, two parents have hired you to release their child from slavery and to bring them back to them so they may escape Bellum as a family. Your job in this is short and sweet. The slave trade is going on, simply buy the child, money is nothing as the parents are fairly wealthy, but theres a problem, they don't want to be seen buying slaves, as they are trying to flee to a country that sees that as a huge problem. Although you can always find your own way to try and get the child out of slavery, just be warned those in charge are A-rank in strength & there are many of them. Good luck.
Enemies: roughly 10+ A-rank in strength fully powerful mages. Do not try to engage without being a proper rank to do such.
Reward: normal xp & 2k jewels

Bellum. It was a nation known for it's high birth rate of mages, even more so than Fiore. In fact their entire nation depended on mages and the magic they possessed. So where did that leave the small population that were not mages? Well, unlike Fiore where mages and non magic creatures lived in harmony Bellum was not so equal. Astrid had already seen this for herself when she took a job to help a poor man run away for his life due to the nature of this nation when his friend was brutally murdered for not having powers. Even when she first met him with Erika he was just being used as a punching bag by two mages in the middle of the street, and no one passing by did anything to stop it. So when the guild master heard there was a slave market too, it really didn't surprise her. It was disgusting yes, but if this nation allowed people to just be murdered on the street without anything being done about it a slave trade wouldn't be that foreign.
The elf sighed, tugging down the rim of her cloak over her face to hide it more. She glanced back to Lucius who currently stood beside her among the crowd of people shouting prices over each other, edging each other on to raise the price. A few feet away stood their goal, a young child being sold like pig meat to a crowd of hungry wolves. The air was stifiling, filled with cigar smoke. It stung the young slayer’s eyes and lungs. She was used to a little bit of smoke thanks to her grandfather, but in an enclosed space like this with a crowd of people it was almost unbearable. Having the retched stench hit her nose again she raised the cloak to cover her mouth and nose, trying to breath in what fresh air she could. Not to mention it was unbearably hot with having so many bodies so close to her, and having a cloak around her wasn't helping this. But without this cloak her identity would be known, and as a guild master and an ex rising star you never knew who knows you. She was pretty famous, so chances were she’d get spotted. And that would end their mission faster than she could deny it.
Feeling uncomfortable she leaned closer to Lucius, leaning her head against his arm. All they had to do was wait for the child’s name to be called, and then buy her back. Her parents had given them more than enough money to buy her back with, but not quite enough to buy more than her. Which was sad. Astrid would have done anything to free these children. But taking down an entire nation’s slave trade on their own? It was suicide. So for now at least, this one child would have to do. But the girl could not help but feel guilty for not being able to rescue the others being sold off.
Closing her eyes Astrid concentrated on the dealer’s calls, trying to listen out for their client’s name, drowning out the rest of the sounds around them.

I c r e a t e d a m o n s t e r a h e l l w i t h i n m y h e a d
The young man stood among the thickly filled crowd, shifting his weight from his one leg to the other. Gripping his walking stick tightly with one hand, and with the other he fidgeted with his long black hair that rested over his chest. His lungs also heavily affected by the amount of suffocating cigar smoke, maybe even more so then that of his sister who wasn't as tall as himself and getting all the smoke that raised up and stayed stale near the ceiling. Sweat dripped down his pale face that was covered mostly by the hood he wore to hide his appearance. Though maybe he wasn't as famously known as his sister, but being labeled as the number one Coming Storm by the Magic Council hasn't really been kind on him. Though the black hair and red eyes does help prevent some recognition due to him having green hair and blue/green eyes when he preformed the deeds that got him the title. So with everything, the dark mage remained very much uncomfortable, just trying to keep himself calm whilst having to be among the crowd. Which from past experiences, where crowd meets Lucius, it hasn't really worked out to well. Usually the assassin getting angry, and people getting hurt because of it.
His clouded mind of irritation and just many complaints about his current situation, the shadow mage looked down at the smaller figure beside him. Instantly knowing it was his elder sister he wasn't irritated by the fact that she leaned into his arm that he dropped to his side (after he finished one handed braiding his hair). Her doing so actually calmed the boy, if only a tad. Helped him concentrate on doing the same thing she was now doing. Hearing the name of the child that they were originally here for in the first place. Needing to get them, buy them off as if they were just buying a slave like any black market personal, though with how normal slavery is in Bellum, you could probably call it just a regular old market. As normal as it would be to buy fruits or jewelry, just more expensive. They had the amount of money needed to purchase the poor helpless child, given to them by the parents of the child. Very nice of them to spend so much money to get their offspring back. Lucius never really had the nicest of parents, who couldn't give two pieces of crap about him. Only worth how useful he was to them. So it was curious for the young man to see parents doing the opposite of what his would do, and actually acting like parents. Though I guess there are a lot more parents that are good then bad, and he knows this, it's just the mindset he is automatically in.
Slavery is a complicated subject for the eighteen year old, he isn't exactly for it but he couldn't really give any crap in the matter. He wasn't the caring person that his elder sibling was, being very happy to torture and kill people without reason. And engaging in needless battles, unlike his sister who is rather pacifistic, and who wouldn't want to hurt a fly. But here he was, dealing with a situation that he couldn't care less about, because his sister brought him along with her. He guessed, just from how his sister was, that should would love to save all the slaves. Stop the whole entire slave trade and make the country equal, well as equal as it could be, some seemed to have their preferences in people. Like this country in magical people over non-magical people, so their will be disputes over such, but they are often minor. He kept his eyes nowhere in particular, considering their uselessness to the boy, being blind and all. He listened out for the name of the child, that he remembered with ease. Because of course if he couldn't care less about it, his brain would force him to remember it. As logic happens in the chaotic brain that is the depressed psychopath's that is Lucius.

"Jessica Lockheart!" The announcer shouted out, belting it from the bottom of his chest to call over all the noise and ruckus. That was it. That was the name of their client's child. Astrid reopened her eyes at the familiar name, staring onto the stage where the child was being pulled onto it against her will. Her wrists and ankles were in shackles, tied together by rusty chains. Orange hair was somewhat combed and neatly kept, along with the rest of her body. Which was normal for most slaves. Though used for manual and dirty work the sellers usually wanted them to look at least a little presentable. Afterwards however they could care less what they eventually ended up looking like in the hands of their owners, as long as they got their money. The only thing that might have looked out of place was what she was wearing. The Lockheart family is one of nobility, so usually they would be garnished in the finest of cloths. But since her capture poor Jessica was forced to wear dirty and creased rags. They probably sold her clothes too just to earn a few extra bucks.
The man who was pulling her along forced the girl next to the portly announcer, in which her grinned down to her. She flinched back, obviously uncomfortable as she looked down to the floor and shuffled her feet.
"Jessica Lockheart comes from the prestigious Lockheart family, known for their wealth and charitable deeds to this very country. However, young Jessica here comes from the part of the family that fails to show any sort of magic potential. Which is why she is here today for you lovely people to bid on~ She may look a little scraggly but get her going and she will not fail to produce results." Though the announcer kept walking to the other side of the stage to keep the audience attention Astrid could not help but keep her stare on the girl. She must be so scared, so frightened. She probably missed her parents too. The elf could not help but feel sorry for her. They needed to get her back as soon as possible.
"Now lets get to the bidding. Seeing as how much of a hassle she was to grab lets start the bidding at... Four hundred thousand."
Silence. The once rowdy and noise ridden room grew silent except for the odd murmur here and there throughout the crowd. Astrid looked back and fourth, trying to see anyone who she might have to battle against. But no one was simply saying anything. She was rather confused. Was it the price? She hadn't been paying attention to the others, so maybe it was too high? Or was there something else? With all the others everyone battle against each other for the highest price. But now with her there was nothing.
"Four hundred thousand for a girl?"
"I'd take that much for a boy, but girls tend to be useless on the farms."
And just like that, the guild master got it. It was because of her gender. She was seen as useless because she might not be as strong as a boy. Her worry grew to anger, causing a red flash in narrowed purple eyes. Not wanting to bother with someone because of their gender? It frustrated the woman. How offended she was. Girls could do just as much as boys! How dare there say she was useless because of what was between her legs!
The slayer gripped her bag of jewels tightly, swallowing down her grown rage. She bit her lower lip as to not allowed bitter words to leave her mouth. She could not cause a scene, as much as she wanted to. Causing a scene would only get them kicked out, and being so close to their goal, she couldn't do that to them. Instead she waited a second to push down the rage boiling upside of her, and raised her arm up high, sucking in air she shouted. "Five hundred thousand for the girl!"
Everyone paused, looking to them both. The announcer looked absolutely shocked, almost looking like he was going to drop to the floor. Though he managed to regain himself quickly as he leaned back upwards, a large smile plastered on his face.
"Five hundred thousand goin once! Goin twice! Sold to the weird hooded figures near the back!"
Astrid grinned beneath her hood while those that stood around her looked gobsmacked, unable to process any reason why someone would pay so much for what would perceived as a useless slave. That was all the jewels the family had given them to get their daughter back, every single jewel. But the child was worth it, to buy her back and to also prove a point. That girls were worth just as much as boys.
Quickly the man who dragged the young Jessica along stepped off the stage and circled around the crowd. To meet him there Astrid grasped a hold of Lucius's arm and carried him along the crowd to make sure they wouldn't get lost while receiving the child. Weaving through the many bodies it was only by chance that Astrid would accidentally bump a little too hard into a man's shoulder, causing her hood to slip off her head. But too much in a hurry the elf didn't think too much of it, and simply let out a "pardon" in apology before carrying on slipping through the many bodies. Reaching the side of the room where people received their slaves the elf gave the man his jewels, and in exchange pushed the girl towards her. Though obviously scared at first Astrid placed a gentle hand upon her head and stared down, giving her a kind gaze. To which the child relaxed slightly, and smiled back, as if she knew this was somehow a rescue rather than an actual purchase.
But the moment wouldn't last for long.
"Hey!" A young man squeezed his way out of the crowd and point to Astrid, his face contorted in anger. "That's the chick that almost killed me with an ice blast a couple of weeks ago!"
Astrid froze, turning her gaze from the child to the man. She instantly recognized him. It was one of the men who were terrorizing the poor boy in the street. And she... May or may not have used her glacier god bellow on him to scare him away... But it wasn't like she actually had tried to kill him. She only wanted to scare him away so they could get their client. He was twisting the situation in his favor to get revenge. Everyone paused and looked to the three. She could try to argue back, but that would prove nothing. It was his word against her's, and she wasn't even a citizen in this country. Her word held no power... So the only thing they could do now was...
"RUN!"

Lucius Foss ☺ Golden Phoenix ☺ B-Rank
I c r e a t e d a m o n s t e r a h e l l w i t h i n m y h e a d
He heard the name of the person they were here for in the first place, a daughter of a rather distinguished family by the name of Lockheart. Listening intently to the announcer as he paced around the young girl atop the stage. Standing with his head hanging slightly, his red eyes staring at nothing particular considering their lack of ability to see anything. He leaned heavily into his walking stick, sort of annoyed, couldn't this move a bit faster. The assassin was hot, sweaty, agitated and just all around very uncomfortable with his current situation and where he was. He tried to casually stretched his tensed up muscles, his foot repetitively tapping against the ground and his fingers clenching his cane so much his knuckles turned even whiter. He wasn't as noble as his sister was, now ignoring her own comfortableness and having the unquenchable urge to save everybody that may be helped slightly when saving this girl. No he wasn't like her at all, he couldn't care less what happened to the girl or even this country. Rather apathetic and uninterested in the lives of others, only himself, and his beloved elder sister of course. He was just very irritated about being in a crowd, which hasn't always turned into the best of circumstances when in them to long, and he was very close to his breaking point. And he didn't want her to get upset for going berserk and most likely killing everybody (being the normal thing he would do when going berserk).
The announcer named the price of the little girl, which got complaints from people in the crowd. Apparently that was to much money to pay for a girl, cause for some reason that mattered. Lucius knew from experience that woman could do just as much if not more then men could, take the Foss siblings as a example if you wish. He isn't sexist, he doesn't care what your gender is, he will just hate you because you exist around him. Though as he expected this absolutely enraged his sister, who with great amount of pride and some anger mixed in called out that she would be purchasing the girl. With some amount of exaggeration when saying 'girl'. The young adult let out a huff and chuckled, rather amused by the pure pride of the Golden Phoenix Guildmaster, standing up for her gender because it was something that mattered to her very deeply. He couldn't care less, but he was happy seeing his sister have pride in something when he himself seemingly lost all of his in everything, besides her probably.
To be expected non of the sexist black marketers would bid any higher for the lovely young lady, thus giving ownership over to the siblings. Though they were just giving the girl back into the hands of her parents and actually not going to use her as a slave to do their bidding. Stopping leaning on his cane when his adoptive sister grabbed him by the arm and dragged in outside the crowd, which he was very thankful for. While leaving he'd 'accidentally' hit people with his cane, which of course which was not but nobody could blame him for doing so since he made it look like an accident and the fact that he was blind. Doing such for just petty entertainment, having nice thoughts of people having bruises on their legs and having to deal with them later. As you can see the young adult isn't as mature as he usually appears to be, being rather childish at times. Especially around his sister, who he showed more emotions to then irritation and some false condescending nature.
They received the young orange haired noble girl, and then he heard a voice called out towards them. Some random guy in the crowd calling out the silvernette for attacking them. Lucius just groaned and glared down in the direction of his sister, wondering what the heck she'd done, but knowing this wasn't a good time to ask. Considering they were now going to run from all these people. Once his sister yelled this command, the boy grabbed the little girl they just saved as he broke out into a run. He held the young child protectively in one of his arms, and the other held his cane which he rested on his shoulder, his elbow pointed forward. A slight malicious look on his pale expression he shot the gun multiple times, hitting some of the people chasing them. Then he stopped and concentrated more on running and getting out of there with his sister, and of course this little girl that they were originally there for. At least those few bullets shocked the people and distracted some of them for a little bit if they weren't the ones shot. Though he could say this was his reasoning for shooting them, it wasn't. He just felt like doing so, call it petty comedy if you will. His sense of humor being rather dark and sadistic in the fact that it was usually based in the suffering of others.

Thankfully Lucius grabbed onto the girl as soon as he heard her shout. Not that Astrid would have had any troubles carrying the dainty girl herself. The dragon slayer could easily lift a bolder three times her size with little to no ease. Rather her brother was just more fit to carry someone. If Astrid were to carry her with the amount of speed she usually ran there wouldn't be anything left of the little girl to save. A little gruesome, but true. There weren't many who could handle the speeds she ran. Her own body could barely handle it. If it weren't for the lacrima inside her, well, she wouldn't even by here right now. Not that she could achieve such speeds without it, but that isn't really the point. The point was that she can go super Sanic fast.
Getting a little bit of a head start the slayer paved the way for her little brother. Not that she really knew where she was going anyway, at the moment all she could think to do is weave in and out of alleyways randomly, just barely dodging the people in between. But despite her practically spastic routes she could still hear the sound of their hard footed boots hitting the pavement behind her. Damn them. Of course they could keep up. This was their country after all. They would have to know all the ins and outs if they were in the slave trade. All the best routes for less people and more profit. She had no choice. The elf slowed down into a more slow rush in order to fall back to her brother. She grabbed his hand. "Hold on tight."
And with those words, the three would be gone in a silver blink of light. The guards right behind them all skidded the a halt. Some breathing hard, the rest looking among the rooftops for any sign of the children. But their actions would prove fruitless, as they were no longer within the area. In fact, they were back in the center of the city already, collapsed outside of the Lockheart's estate. Well, at least Astrid was collapsed. She couldn't speak for Lucius. After all he wasn't the one who had just used almost all his energy to force her every last drop of speed out of her in a big burst of light. Basically, Astrid had just traveled at light speed. Not something easily accomplished, even by her standards.
Sprawled out on the freshly cut lawn Astrid stared up into the starry night sky, her chest rising and lowering deeply with every intake of air her lungs could get at. With all the energy sapped out of her body as soon as they arrived she was immediately forced to the ground, not having the strength to even lift herself up right now. It was obvious she was going nowhere any time soon. At least not until she let her mana refill.
Despite this the red head still thanked her, giving her a hug before rushing off to greet her parents a little up the hill from where they landed.
The rush of adrenaline would not leave the slayer's body. The rush of just getting out by the skin of teeth had completely consumed her body and caused it to tingle. Relishing in the tingling sensation she closed her eyes, letting it run its course.
At this point her brother would probably have to help her up, or even carry her back home.
But even so, there was no doubt this had been a successful mission.
