Kenna looked up at the many cherry blossom trees in her vicinity, a pleased smile plastered upon her face as the wind blew through them and plucked the loose petals of their branches, carrying them unto its gentle breeze with the intent of scattering them all over the road that lead into the Sakuramori forest. It was said that this forest was named after these cherry blossoms, and that it held an incredible amount of magic within its grounds, allowing for all its irregular and stunning wildlife to grow and live among these trees. Garmr, who had been silently following in his master’s wake, looked up as well and showed something what seemed to be the hint of a smile. ”After all these centuries I had forgotten how colorful the outside world was… truly amazing.” The Church Grim said within the safe compounds of their soul-bound link, only audible to the two of them. The raven-haired maiden nodded in agreement and smiled without looking down, yet Gramr knew this smile was meant for him. “Indeed… a beautiful scenery this is. It’s just so sad that the reason for us being here isn't one that'll allow us much spectating. We should come visit the forest again afterwards, don't you think so, Gram?” Garmr’s long ears perked up for a moment as he heard Kenna speak his former human name and stared at her intently, gazing into her golden eyes and seeing his dark silhouette reflected into them. He’d told her his true name in a sudden fit when they first met; when Kenna had invaded his soul realm and forced him to cast away his darkness, to become a pure guardian soul. It had been painful, but in the end he’d thanked the Etherborn mage for her rough hand in setting him free of his burdens and sins… how to see the light again. Recognising something he missed after his former master had passed away within the Etherborn maiden, Garmr had decided to stay by her side until he could figure out why she had that thing Baldr had. That spark.

He closed his eyes and enjoyed the slender fingers that went through his long, sloppy hair and leant against Kenna’s leg as she treated him to several loving scratches. The Etherborn maiden on her turn had to hang on when Garmr did so, the large hound being heavier than he looked. The two had gotten pretty attached to one another, and Garmr had accompanied her everywhere ever since, yet couldn't help her when he wanted it the most due to his soul-bond not being complete. Something withheld him from actually doing physical damage to anything or anyone at full power; even if he did try to bite someone, aside from a sharp stinging sensation they’d feel nothing else. His appearance and rough demeanor was all that kept other mortals from getting closer and finding out, so Kenna had usually ordered him to stay back and watch from the sidelines. And so he did, reluctantly, until they found the right reasons to liberate him from this wretched spirituality. Patience however was of the essence… and he disliked it greatly.

The Church Grim sighed and sat down beside his master, his 4 feet length towering menacingly beside his master’s petite stature, watching the road before them as the young maiden beside him turned and smiled. He could feel her happiness surging through the link they shared and caught the scent of someone new, familiar yet not too much. It had lingered around his master once or twice before, but now the source was at hand, he growled softly without looking back at whomever was approaching. Kenna’s happy feelings made him trust the unknown stranger, yet the growl was there to give the person a fair warning not to play any tricks, while his eyes carefully watched the area. None would dare try a sneak-attack on his master on his watch… Kenna on the other hand waved at the incoming silhouette and called out for him. ”Mashyuu! Itsu! Took you guys long enough to get here!” she grinned widely, though made a slight apologetic bow afterwards and continued softly. ”Sorry I didn't wait for you to catch up at Ace of Spades, but I couldn't help it… especially after hearing everyone so excited and full of praise over the beauty of Sakuramori.” The Etherborn let out an embarrassed chuckle, the ‘they’ she referred to were the souls within her realm, who seemed extremely eager for random chit-chat whether this was during the day, or during her much-needed sleep at night. She couldn’t quite remember whether she’d told the slayer and his companion about it, but believed she had and thus didn't explain it in detail. ”So, are you ready to go search for this Muffin Man? I’ve been pretty vague about what happened before that laid to this showdown, so an explanation is in order… which I’ll be giving you as we go.” A smile once again crept upon Kenna’s lips, and she gestured at the path Garmr was watching, waiting till they had reached her spot before moving onward. Truthfully, after having received this specific request to face the Muffin Man, Kenna already knew what she was in for. Thus she’d turned towards the one she knew best and asked for his aid in this, only mentioning that she might've run into some trouble and needed his help in case things went wrong.

    Job Details:

When Kenna had asked Mashyuu to meet him in a strange forest he shrugged and agreed. Any time he got to spend with the beauty was good to him but he had to admit that he really wanted to take her out on a real date. Unless she actually considered these jobs a date, in witch case he supposed that things were all good. Itsu watched Kenna ask Mashyuu and urged him to leave as soon as possible but after he shaved. Mashyuu ran his hand over his growing facial hair and smiled at his friend. "Nah, I'll leave it and see if she says anything about it first. Who knows, maybe she likes a man with facial hair." He pulled himself up out of his chair and headed for the location she asked to meet at.

The forest was beautiful but not as beautiful as Kenna, Mashyuu couldn't keep her off his mind very long at any given time, the woman asked him for help with something and took off faster than he ever expected, making him wonder if maybe she was in some sort of trouble or if she was trying to surprise him. Suddenly Itsu stopped him, grabbing the sword that was now held in place by his red belt. "There is some sort of undead near by. Maybe a ghost or phantom." She warned him and lifted her litch dagger that was attached to a metal cable. Since she got it Itsu found she had a better affinity with the undead and could even sense when they were near by. She smiled at Mashyuu and tapped it against his chest. "If you're lucky I might just give this to you to try one day." She grinned wide. "I'll stick with Excalibur and my bow for now. But thanks I suppose." He replied.

It was then that a familiar voice echoed through the forest. Mashyuu grinned wide and spotted Kenna. He smiled happily and waved at her while the two started to run at her. He stopped before her while she bowed low to explain that she was sorry for asking him to meet her without explaining why. Mashyuu looked at the large hound at her side and then to Itsu. "That things a ghost or something right?" He asked while placing his left hand on the hilt of his sword, not intending to draw the blade but simply resting his hand there to get used to carrying a weapon on his hip. "It's fine. No need to apologize. But I would like to know why you brought me out here. One could mistake this as a date that I brought a third wheel to." Mashyuu joked while looping his arm around Kenna's and started to walk with her. "So why don't you tell us why we are here."

The first thing she noticed about Mashyuu that didn't fit the picture was the gigantic sword hanging from the red belt around his waist, without a scabbard to keep it safe. Having it like that might not seem the safest way to carry the sharpened blade, but nonetheless it made the mighty blade stand out; it looked fearsome, while the sun reflecting on the steel gave it a sudden elegance that she couldn't quite bring home. Altogether it could've come right out of a painting. The second thing that didn't fit the picture was the amount of facial hair he'd grown over the short spawn of time that had passed since their last meeting. It wasn't exactly out of place, but it was rather weird seeing him like that, especially since this was the first time she actually saw him with facial hair. She felt like frowning but didn't, yet reminded herself to say something about it later on.

When the slayer looked from Garmr to Itsu and back again, gesturing at her companion and asking whether Garmr was a ghost of some sort, her eyes widened slightly, while she could feel Garmr tensing beside her. His tailed wagged like a fickle cloth, while mist gently rose from within his midnight-black fur and a soft growl yet again crossed the large hound's lips. Kenna shushed him with a gentle stroke and kept her hand on top of his head while she looked back at Mashyuu and Itsu. "Yes... something along those lines. Garmr's a Church Grim, a guardian-turned soul. How did you figure that out?" She asked out of pure curiosity as the twosome finally reached her. Mashyuu looped his arm around hers and lead her further down the path. Garmr's eyes squinted as the to him stranger-dubbed slayer took his master with him. The Church Grim followed carefully from a distance, glancing back at Itsu suspiciously, feeling as if something she either was, or had, was awfully off. His eyes flickered with crimson as he watched her, shook his head and let out a deep sigh. "You, weird lady with the bone head-gear... what is that thing?' The Church Grim's voice resonated deep and dangerously within her head, while his physical form slowed his pace to walk at around the same spot Itsu was at, with 9 feet inbetween them to confirm his suspiciousness.

Kenna and Mashyuu on the other hand had been walking on further ahead, with the raven-haired maiden taking a deep breath before starting her story. "Sadly enough I have to disappoint you... it's not a date. Although I would prefer a date in this forest above all else, to be honest... Right now we're here to deal with the Muffin Man, who seems to be pretty eager to destroy me." And as she spoke, Kenna pulled out the letter with the Muffin Man's message, addressed to her personally. Her name wasn't visible on the paper, but she knew it was meant for her. After all, she had been the only one to catch up with the Gingerbread Man and managed to subdue it... to then find out she had been gifted with the prowess of the same man who once caught the original Gingerbread Man. His speed was hers, and she was one of the only ones who could surpass that dreaded thing in terms of speed. "I had this issue with this so-called Gingerbread Man, a stupid cookie that ran all over the place while being a real pain in the ass. I caught and subdued it, but apparently the Muffin Man had created that cinnamon menace... and wants revenge for it." The Etherborn mage sighed as she walked on and gently nudged Mashyuu's side. "Although I don't want to look down on myself, I've been having this feeling that I won't be able to take him on my own. I'm not planning on saying sorry to that Muffin guy for wrecking his precious cookie, because I'm not. Frankly, I'm happy I got to kick that little shit's ass! Since it taught me something pretty interesting... I have its speed skill, but more developed! Kenna grinned happily at the latter.

Mashyuu glanced at the dog again while Kenna explained what it was. He narrowed his eyes at the beast, showing he could deal with it and then some while his fangs jutted out from behind his lips for just a moment. He then happily looked back to Kenna. "I have no idea what you are talking about nine times out of ten but okay." He said happily before the two started to walk.

Trailing off behind the pair, Itsu strutted happily, watching the forest and all the wildlife that happened to be walking around in the depths of the forest. It turned out that Mashyuu and Itsu had been doing a lot of jobs various wooded areas as of late and it made Itsu very happy. She liked doing other jobs too but with the sudden extreme amount of undead and dungeon crawling the pair seemed to be doing it was nice to just relax and do something outside fora change.

Suddenly a force... no a voice intruded on Itsu's mind and she raised her weapon as if she were being attacked. However when she realized it was the large animal she lowered the dagger but decided to keep the weapons cord wrapped around her wist just in case. My name is Itsu. The head gear is a helmet you absent minded beast. I can already tell you don't have any bite to your bark so don't try to act high and mighty around us. We are all part of a team. If it's your job to stand there and look scary then do it and if you're actually asking about my dagger all you need to know is that it gives me affinity with the undead. Itsu thought back to the animal, noticing how the beast seemed to keep a good amount of distance from her, as if it were planning something. She didn't like that at all, it made her feel uneasy and kept her attention on the animal. It was like the dog would lunge and attack at any moment. She doubted it would do any harm though as it was out of place just like Itsu had been when she was revived. Truth was that she and the dog had a lot in common. Actually now that she thought about it, Mashyuu, Itsu, Kenna and Kanix all seemed to actually be brought back from the dead in some way or form, making them all connected in that way.

Kenna started to say that the pair weren't on a date and Mashyuu almost moved his arm away from hers in order to save some face, until she said that she wanted it to be. The moment she had said that his hand slipped into her hand and squeezed it comfortingly. He had been wrestling with his feelings for Kenna for what seemed like a long time now. Aside from the kiss and a bit of flirting back and fourth this was the furthest he had ever gone with the dark haired beauty and honestly it felt good. So good in fact that he almost forgot she was talking. "Muffin man? Are you kidding me? That has to be a joke right?" Mashyuu asked while cracking a wide grin.

As it stood though, indeed Kenna was telling the truth. "Cookies and muffins are two different things. I'm gonna put my foot up this guys ass!" Mashyuu exclaimed while throwing his arms up and flexing. It was then that Kenna nudged Mashyuu and that was how Mashyuu always gauged his strength as a Wizard. Those who were stronger than him could knock him over but the ones who were weaker couldn't move him. Kenna bumped him and he didn't budge a half inch. The man grinned down at her and kissed the top of her head. "Oh, you are fast huh? That makes sense. You saved my life with that speed once, but you didn't need to do that. I'm the protector in this group, so let me do that next time." Mashyuu said in an almost stern tone.

He relented and smiled at the woman. "... So I've decided I'll help you. But on one condition. You follow my lead in this fight and do what I say. I don't want to see you come close to death again. We need to work together. Seeing as how I have more spells up my sleeve than you do at the moment please let me do the heavy lifting." Mashyuu pleaded with Kenna. He waited for a few moments in silence while wrapping his hand around her lower back and hip. "So what does the beautiful Kenna do for fun when she isn't doing jobs with the handsome and bearded Mashyuu?"

Post by Aura 24th February 2017, 5:20 pm

Garmr shook his large head as Itsu's reply resonated through his head, a sensation of hostility seemed to take hold of her words, although this might've just been him. He didn't know, and frankly, he didn't care either. The things she said were truthful, but it stung as he heard them. "Absent minded beast? Tsk, I do wonder what you truly know about my kind, human... I can smell you've been dead once before. You reek of it just like all those others, but because my master wants it so, I will not harm you.... not that I can even if I could, as you apparently already guessed." The hound allowed itself to edge closer but kept its distance still, while it pondered over many different aspects of his kind, and whether or not to tell them to the woman beside him. Could he trust others? She did say they were a team, but he wished his part in this adventure could've been more than just looking scary. Garmr shook his head slowly. "You humans can choose how to live and die... whereas I had not. It was decided for me that I would die for a so-called greater cause, one I didn't even believe in. Buried alive in the dead of night, by my closest friends nonetheless!" The Church Grim cocked its head up and seemed to snort as he kept on talking. "And if that wasn't enough, forced to take up guardianship for eternity, chained to a place I detested so much without even questioning whether I'd want it. Mankind is ruthless when it comes to that. Selfish. Weak. Their future and past are as grim as I am, so do excuse my impertinence for not trusting all but her. To be thinking an Etherborn would take pity on me and show me color after centuries of darkness..." Garmr shook his head again and straightened its back, now walking more proudly again. "Whatever. I don't expect you to understand, human. I don't blame you. Though striking me with that weapon of yours won't help you one bit... I cannot be killed. Never..."

The Church Grim stared off in the distance, watching Kenna's long raven-colored hair wave along the breeze that came towards them. She seemed so peaceful at that man's side, and through their link she could feel how serene she felt with their hands now entangled with one another. Kenna seemed to edge closer to him too, and Garmr couldn't help but tilt its head at the sight of the twosome. He figured she must've been blushing real bad from the sudden warmth he felt coursing through his body and seemed to crack into a grin, his eyes glowing gently. If a being such as him could show a loving expression, the way he was looking now at the pair before him would be that expression.

Kenna indeed had been growing significantly embarrassed when the slayer's large hand slid down to hers, gently taking it and clasping his long, slender fingers around hers. Her blush was present, but skillfully hidden behind the large bangs that adorned her face almost porcelain-colored visage. Yet despite it all, she had been talking on and on about the reason for them being here, and even noticed how Mashyuu seemed to find the talk of the Muffin Man rather laughable, until shown the proof and getting serious for a split second. His protective nature, along with the unnecessary flexing as he mentioned how he would kick the Muffin Man's ass made her giggle, even more so when noticing he was unphased by her unnatural strength. The smile faded into yet another blush as he bent forward and gently kissed the top of her head, hearing a witty remark being channeled through her line of thoughts by someone other than herself; whether this was Akhator or Garmr she didn't know. The slayer nearly lectured her when mentioning her speed and having saved him with it, saying that he was the protector of the group, and that he wanted to do the saving next time. The sternness of his voice recalled the memories of her going down a first time by the skeleton’s sword back in Rodger's tomb, and she cringed slightly at hearing it, until she dared look up and see a smile on his face instead of what she thought to see.

The Etherborn smiled as well, and when hearing Mashyuu say he'd actually help her out, felt her heart skip a beat in happiness. Not that she'd expected him to turn her down when she'd asked him to come to Sakuramori, otherwise he wouldn't have bothered traveling all the way out here. Yet there was a condition attached to his approving to help her out. She had to follow his lead during the fighting that was bound to happen, do as he said. She frowned at first, not really sure as to how she wanted to do that... sometimes it was better taking risks than to follow every order to the letter. On the verge of saying something in protest, the reason behind it surfaced and the maiden kept her protest to herself, while a gentle smile crossed her lips. "You shouldn't worry about that, I can defend myself now Mashyuu... but I'll be more careful, and not be as reckless as I was back at the tomb. I promise." Kenna replied to his plea, knowing that in the end she'd still do anything to safe the man who saved her from death twice. At that moment his hand slipped down her lower back and wrapped around her hip, almost pulling her closer as he did. The warmth of his hand felt pleasant, making him forgive the sudden boldness of his move... in fact, she didn't even mind it, but wouldn't openly admit that to the brown-haired man. Asking what she did for fun when not doing any jobs with him, the question proposed so smoothly with the flirty addressing of both her and himself, Kenna couldn’t help but grin amusingly. "So my looks are to your liking, hmmmm, calling me beautiful  so gracefully." Kenna winked at him and rose her hand to his face, letting her fingers run down his cheek in a similar flirty manner while her voice seemed to have that bit more to it when she spoke. "Well, when I'm not out on jobs with this certain handsome slayer named Mashyuu, I try my best at reading, to catch up on whatever I missed and in hopes of getting my memories to return to me. The occasional stroll through town, and dreaming of some nice company on the days I have off." Her entire palm now seemed to caress his cheek, and at that point had finally realised they'd stopped walking ever since Mashyuu'd wrapped his hands around her waist. Itsu and Garmr seemed to have slowed down their pace and took their fair time to give the twosome some privacy as far as that was possible in this forest. The raven-haired maiden's eyes had slowly crept up his face, and now gently stared into the clear blue eyes that were his alone. "The beard suits you well...but it needs a bit of getting used to. Just---, don't try overdoing the sideburns. Actually, don't do them at all. They'd ruin that handsome face of yours, and it'd be a pity not being able to look at it anymore... Kenna's words flowed out without thinking, more flirty and honest than she'd expected, and blushed deeply upon realising it. She couldn’t help it though; these odd feelings that had taken a hold of her, making her chest go wild whenever, she couldn’t just ignore them. Especially not when the reason of her affection was closer than she'd imagined... and seemingly just like her trying to figure out where the boundaries lay. She'd yet to find any of said boundaries though, and carefully scavenged down the path her emotions cleaved through her heart.

An evil, almost killer like glare shot from Itsu's face at Garmr. Her fist clenched for a moment while she seethed with rage. "...Mashyuu never died. And how the hell would you know that I died? I'm not even in my original body. It's an exact replica but I watched Mashyuu destroy my body as is!" Itsu didn't like to be reminded that she had died once. She was doing everything in her power to make sure she embraced her new life as much as possible and this.... beast. This beast was reminding her that she had failed once before."If you want to be able to hurt others like you used to, you should ask Mashyuu for help. So long as you are going to protect Kenna Mashyuu will go out of his way to help you. He loves her but won't admit it yet. He is torn. He told me he doesn't want to see Kenna get hurt the way his dead wife did." Itsu explained to the terribly devious looking beast. "You can go out and find a way to live again. It will be hard but if you do it then you can choose how you die. There is always a way to find a second chance Gar." Itsu reminded the large animal. "I'm living proof of that." Itsu motioned for Gar to come closer to the woman. Slowly Itsu dropped to a knee and reached out to pet the dog, showing him that others can be trusted. "I won't really hurt you, but remember there are worse things in this world than death. I'd hate to see something that Kenna cares about come to harm." Itsu was quick to remind the rather large and dark dog.

Mashyuu loved Kenna's smile. It was gentle and strong at the same time. It reminded him of all the reasons he was falling hard for her. Already he could tell there was nothing that he wouldn't do for her, as much as he wanted to pretend that it wasn't true. He didn't even know who he was yet and already he wanted to make sure this woman never needed anything in her life. His heart skipped a beat while looking down at her, the blood in his body pumped so hard that he felt cold for a moment. "Kenna I know you can protect yourself, I never doubted that. But I still worry about you. If I ever lost you the way I lost.... I wouldn't know what to do if I lost you and could do something about it." It was Mashyuu's turn to blush. He was worried that he would lose Kenna the way he had lost Kanix, to a cult that wanted to use her powers to help in the summoning of a terrible demon. Mashyuu was no demon slayer and it would take everything he had and then some if he wanted to defeat something like that. "Oh, so you think this Mashyuu guy is handsome huh? I'm gonna go kick his ass and make him ugly. That way I won't have any love rivals." the grin on Mashyuu's face only grew wider when he spoke, realizing that he wanted nothing more than to spend as much time as possible with her. "And yes, I would say that your looks are very much to my liking. I couldn't think of a thing I would want to change." He winked back and made an hour glass shape, showing that she was curvy in the right ways to him. "Hmmm, nice company is always welcome. So when you think of that company who is the first person you think of?" Maybe he was fishing for something, maybe he wasn't but he would never tell Kenna the truth. "So tell me, what is your favorite book? I just picked one up from a library in an abandoned city. It has god slayer magic in it. Some forbidden stuff." He beamed happily at that, the book was actually an interesting read and he could tell he was close to getting the magic in that book down pact. Soon he would have some new magical spells under his belt.

It wasn't long till Mashyuu stopped talking to lick his suddenly dry lips, the lump in his throat was catching him off guard. The last thing he expected was for Kenna to brush her fingertips along his cheek. Such a simple gesture but one that had a lot of passion behind it. Her touch calmed him and forced his crystal clear blue eyes to shut for a moment while he sighed from pure pleasure. He started to chuckle when Kenna told him not to grow out sideburns. "I'm not keeping the beard, I just didn't want to keep you waiting either. When this is over I'll remove it." Mashyuu looked down into Kenna's eyes and he started to blush the same way she was. He wanted to let her in, let her know that there was nothing he wouldn't do for her but the fear of losing her kept him almost at an arms distance. Still he needed to let her know something, anything. Mashyuu could tell that she was testing the waters with him, seeing where he would stop and find the limits to whatever it was that they had at the moment. Slowly he cupped her face and kissed her lightly, just enough to let the raven haired woman know that he indeed cared very much for her before he pulled back. "Kenna... I have to tell you about my past. Or what I remember of it. Because I think I love you. I was married once and my wife was killed right before me. When I pulled myself out of that grave it was the only thing I could remember. Seeing her die, and feeling that pain. I have to live with the fact that she was killed because I was being hunted every day." A few tears started to stream down Mashyuu's face while he blinked away the pain in his heart. Slowly he reached into his pocket and pulled out a small but heavy rusty stone ring. "She gave me this on our wedding day, I keep it with me because I'm always going to love her in some way. I want to be fair and honest with you. I don't think I'll ever not love her. But I think I can love you just as much."

It wasn't easy for Mashyuu to tell Kenna this, there was a lot he could have kept hidden from her, even more that he wanted to but if they were going to try to make whatever it was that they had work then he had to be honest with the beauty. Mashyuu took a deep breath of air to steady himself and look at Kenna again. In a way he expected for her to look at him differently, like he was less of a person. He wasn't sure that would even happen but he didn't want to risk it. He swallowed a lump of something then grabbed Kenna by the waist, spun her around so the two had switched positions and twisted on his feet to face the trees that were behind him a moment ago. His nostrils flared up while his ears started to tweak. "Itsu! We aren't alone, watch your six!" Mashyuu ordered the woman. He couldn't see whatever it was that was out there but he could smell it, hear it rustle through the brush and trees. He wasn't about to let something catch him off guard, not the way he had been caught off guard before the last person he loved died. Never again. Mashyuu's body flexed, his left hand flexed and raised up. He clasped air and spoke a command word. "Gods Shot." A large web like bow appeared in his left hand. Slowly he placed his right hand to it and pulled, a string of magical energy appeared as did an arrow. He aimed at where he smelled the creature or creatures last and whispered. "Hail of Arrows.." Quickly he released his string and fired a volley of dense arrows into the forest, trying to hit whatever it was that was coming at the group. As his arrow volley ended Mashyuu released his bow, letting it flow back into the small chain on his wrist and drew his long sword. The silver of the weapon flared up, exploding into a golden light that pulsed with power as Mashyuu eyed the tree line.

To Break Their Greatest Pride Empty Re: To Break Their Greatest Pride

Post by Aura 27th February 2017, 11:32 pm

Garmr looked at Itsu in odd surprise, and slowly stepped closer as she dropped to her knee and reached out for him. Once in range, he could feel her hands going down his long fur and allowed its eyes to close briefly, yet his voice still resonated through her mind. “However much I appreciate that, Itsu… living is the last thing I want to do. I’ve been neither dead or alive for centuries on end. Even now, being ‘alive’ doesn’t feel the way it used to be. If there’s anything I’d like, it’d be salvation. Death. But until Kenna no longer needs me, I want to be able to protect her properly.” The Church Grim sniffed and turned its head almost instantly as he caught a whiff of something off, and growled in a low tone while standing back up. The hair on his back stood up and looked rather spiked on the back of his neck, while his sharp, white teeth glistered softly underneath his curled up lips. “There’s something there…” He growled inimically while digging his clawed paws into the soft ground underneath them, while his eyes furiously tried to scan the area.

At the same time, both the ravenhaired maiden and the slayer had gotten closer to one another, with Mashyuu’s voice gently acknowledging her ability to protect herself. He mentioned not wanting to lose her, and silenced for a moment whe he cut his sentence off halfway, as if what he was trying to say hurt just a bit too much to blatantly speak his mind about it. She noticed it by the way he blushed and looked at her with those worried eyes of his; how his body reacted to hers as they were together, and how she could feel his warm heartbeat resonating through his toned, muscular skin. He too seemed to be wrestling with what to feel or not, and whether to allow these feelings to surface, or rather keep them hidden, or even buried. The blissful awkwardness of their silence was soon enough broken by the next few anecdotes, and she couldn’t help but chuckle as he played along with her subtle hints. At the mentioning of being willing to beat up others to make them ugly, as to not having any love rivals, Kenna blushed rather deeply, realising those words already were a semi-confession tot he feelings she was hoping to confirm. His hands making the curvy gestures regarding her body together with the words he spoke, didn’t really help in getting away with the blush on her cheeks either. She knew he was just messing with her, and any other man would’ve gotten a rather cold shrug, yet this man in particular was able to pull reactions from her that even she didn’t knew she had. It was odd. Surprising, but enjoyable nonetheless. However when she told Mashyuu about how she loved to read, although said reading went slower than hell and seemed to be extremely hard on her, he beamed with enthusiasm. Eagerly telling about this one particular book he’d found containing magic of ancient lore, the forbidden magic solely meant for slayers, he also asked after her favorite title, which left the Etherborn with a slight lump in her throat. “I… I don’t have any… I’ve only ever read two or three books since my reawakening. And only one of those is in my possession. Truth be told, I like to read, but the know-how is, uhm, lacking… I recognise the letters and words, but it takes time for me to see what’s actually written.” Kenna muttered rather embarrassed in return, but when looking up saw how his crystal-clear eyes had closed themselves to enjoy her gentle touch to the fullest, and how a sigh escaped his body.

He smiled at her remark regarding his side-burns and reassured her he was gonna save them off once this all was over. The gentle kiss that followed suit after sharing a common moment of blushing similarities left her with a funny feeling in her stomach, one she couldn’t quite place. The eyes that now looked at her however had a glint of struggle within them, a deep sadness hidden behind it as he pulled back and spoke once more. About a subject she hadn’t expected. Feelings mixed and collided, flustering feelings, but also those that bleaked her heart and mind. He said he loved her, which filled her with joy and a fluttering of happiness. He said he had a wife before, and that she was killed right in front of him; it made her heart whimper slightly, and made her mind worried about what else he must’ve been through. When he said he she was the only thing he remembered when he pulled himself back up from his grave, and how he mentioned the feelings of pain, and the memories of his beloved wife’s death however, she grew rigid. A cold, maleficent feeling took hold of her mind, and she felt how her chest cramped and ached softly; though the reason behind it wasn’t one to be expected. The reason for Kenna’s 180 degree turn was the fact he remembered. He had something to cling unto, whereas she had not. Yes, she had a silent god that hadn’t spoken to her in weeks, who remained silent in every way about her past. Even what had happened was a mystery. The odd wounds made her figure she’d died; none would have wounds on their head and chest, and live to tell the tale. But it were mere guesses. She knew nothing, whereas knowledge was what she wanted. Who she was. What she was. Her ideals. Friends. Family. Anything would’ve been good, but nothing remained. Nothing recalled. Even her magic at this point was strange to her. She loathed feeling empty like this. Even the bliss she’d felt moments earlier had faded away, while the coldness and neutrality overturned her fickle mind. Kenna didn’t even notice  how tears rolled down Mashyuu’s cheek, and how he blinked them away with the painful memory still reflecte in his eyes. Only when he pulled out the rusty ring did she focus again, yet didn’t truly snap out of this downed state of mind. She recognised the gesture that was added tot he rest of his words, and nodded carefully as her thumbs softly caressed his face. She smiled comfortingly, but her eyes didn’t follow that smile for the full 100%. “I understand, Mashyuu… I too would feel the same if I’d loved someone before this…. If I could remember that person, if there ever was anyone. I remember nothing, but I’m happy you can still hold on to something from the past, although I would’ve wished it were something happier than this. Keep on loving her, my dear,” Kenna said as her hand slid down his chest, halting on the spot where she felt his heart beating the clearest, and stared at it. “she’ll always be with you, right here.”

The smile that accompanied this last gesture was a genuine one, yet she did not make any eye-contact as she did. Part of her wanted to be angry, while another just wanted her to get it over with. Neither won, and instead just clashed inside her mind, covered up by the voice of reason that now took hold of her again. Kenna wondered whether she’d seemed off, hoping that she hadn’t given him the wrong idea about things. She genuinely cared about his wellbeing, and was honored to be considered involved and important enough to hear of such deep secrets of his. Sadly enough, she had allowed herself a pitiful state of mind by loathing the fact she recalled nothing, instead of embrasing the fact she could start over anew. In her current mindset, that liberty wasn’t worth it, and it mingled with her feelings in the worst of ways at times. She wanted tos peak of it, reassure him in case she had looked at him weirdly, or even worse, with a look of disdain, yet instead was grabbed by the waist and spun around. Their position switch went down smooth and swiftly, and before she knew it heard Mashyuu shouting orders at Itsu to watch her six, while Garmr had quickly taken its place by his master’s side and growled frightfully. “Master, there’s something out there….” Garmr warned, and it seemed to think the same. The next minute the Earth Dragon Slayer called upon what seemed to be a bow, and shot energy-bound arrows at the edges of the woods, disbound his bow quickly after and soon enough unsheathed his sword, ready for whatever was out there to come forth. Mashyuu’s eyes were keen and alert, with Kenna eagerly following his example, on the brink of pulling out Antares from the dimension it recided it when not being used, when a menacing breaking noise could be heard from their side. The next moment an entire tree was thrown their way. However, instead of dodging, Kenna stepped forward and stretched her arms towards the tree, bracing herself for a maddening impact that followed once wood and flesh connected. The bark shattered where her hands exerted pressure, and Kenna glared viciously as she spoke but two simple words, a magic circle  consisting of various shades of blue, purple and black appeared almost instantly. “Oro Kara.”

The tree was blasted back from whence it came with such ease that it didn’t seem all that heavy, yet the blood on her hands showed otherwise. Kenna brushed it off and  stepped back upon hearing the familiar, screeching, high-pitched voices belonging to the gingerbread men, echoing in the nearby bushes. A few high-pitched screams were heard from those same voices when the tree came crashing down, trapping some underneath it. “Be careful, Mashyuu, Itsu! These things are a pain to deal with, and incredibly fast to boot.” The Etherborn said as she squinted her eyes and tried to pinpoint one of the lightning-fast menaces. There were many of them, and she feared that these humanoid cookies were but a distraction for the real threat… the Muffin Man. Thus the Etherborn inhaled deeply, readying herself as she clenched her hands and flared in the three-colored energy, until the blue flared vividly and usurped all other colors in the magic aura. A magic circle, nine feet in height and width, expanded before her, and the eerie feeling that vibrated from its magical currents worsened once she spoke the words to activate the spell. “Tenkū Haja Chimimōryō!” Her voice called, clear and powerful as the inside of her magic circle flickered, releasing wave after wave of malevolent spirits unto the fray, each and every one of the spirits going after the target of their choosing and piercing through their petite cinamon foes without much effort. Six of them laid lifeless unto the ground, hit and claimed by the evil spirits that now retreated back tot he afterlife. None other of these menaces seemed to walk around anymore, and Kenna was about to lessen her guard as a single voice resonated through the forest. The clamoring came from closeby, and not much after the noises had faded a large man in a baker’s outfit joined them on the clearing surrounded by trees, his eyes shooting fire and locking unto Kenna. “YOU! YOU KILLED MY BABIES!!! MY PRECIOUS, OH SO PRECIOUS WORK OF ART… DESTROYED! NOW I WILL DESTROY YOU!” The man roared furiously, while a large blob of dough started forming above his head.

To Break Their Greatest Pride Empty Re: To Break Their Greatest Pride

Post by redheadedstepchild 28th February 2017, 12:52 pm

The Earth Wizard stood, sword drawn and body ready for battle when a loud sound of cracking echoed at the groups side. Suddenly a massive tree shot through the forest and came out of the tree line, hurtling right at them. Mashyuu set his jaw firmly and started to move to intercept the tree when Kenna stepped forward and caught the tree in her bare hands. Clearly mastering a portion of her magic had given her some sort of otherworldly strength. This made Mashyuu realize how his innate rooted stances were truly powerful since even with her super strength she couldn't budge him.

Kenna heaved and tossed the tree back into the woods, causing a swarm of small gingerbread men to rush the Wizards, Kenna shouted out a warning but Mashyuu wasn't worried about that. He was looking for the person who was controlling them. He had to be close, most Mages couldn't control their monsters from far away. Mashyuu used his Earth senses to evade strikes while Kenna made quick work of the six gingerbread men, seemingly effortless in her attacks, the magic she had gained surely made her more confident in her skills, and it was showing with every move she made.

A shrill voice called out while a large man in a bakers suit came rushing the group, looking Kenna dead in the eye. How did he know it was Kenna that had killed the gingerbread man before? And if he had so many more then why did he even care? It didn't matter. "Itsu, stay with Kenna and help her with these things. Fat Man! I'm your enemy!" Mashyuu shouted and whipped his blade in a large circle, causing the weapon to glow with golden brilliant energy.

Mashyuu stepped forward as did the Baker, who brandished a rolling pin. Mashyuu started to chuckle when the pin began to glow much in the same way Mashyuu's weapon had been. The Earth Wizard raised a brow and nodded to the fact that he understood what he was seeing. Mashyuu lifted his blade as the large man raised his rolling pin and the two started to circle one another. A heavy wind blew, making the mans apron flap in the wind much like Mashyuu's hair and clothes tugged tightly to the right. The moment the wind passed Mashyuu began his attack. He came in hard, clashing his weapon against the rolling pin and pushed with his shoulder, shoving the fat man back a few steps. While he stumbled Mashyuu came in and dragged his blade across the outer side of the bakers left thigh, drawing a shallow amount of blood with a light cut that barely flayed the skin. The baker reached down and grabbed his leg, limping to the left for a moment to try to gain some distance on the Earth Wizard. Clearly the man had expected to not face the team of Mashyuu and Kenna. His wild eyes bounced between the pair while the ball of dough above him continued to grow as time passed. The baker stood up straight and called out. "Rolling Pin: Bakers Dozen!" His weapon lit up brighter than ever and the man split into a total of 13 men, each with a rolling pin in hand and surrounded Mashyuu.

"Ohh fancy trick, but I bet your power is split. Am I wrong?" Mashyuu asked but instead of getting an answer a rolling pin cracked against the back of his right shoulder, crushing down to try and get Mashyuu to drop his weapon. Mashyuu's shoulder slumped but his grip was true. "Earth Gods Sand Armor!" Mashyuu commanded. The ground under him exploded and fine dirt and sand compressed around his body, forming an invisible layer of padding on him. Mashyuu braced himself and allowed each of the men to take a crack at the Wizard, he refused to move or defend himself until his armor cracked. A wide grin spread on his face as the armor exploded off his body and shot out around the Wizard hitting all the dough men. Twelve of the thirteen copies melted away and started to bubble, slowly creating more minions that grew bigger every time Mashyuu landed an attack on the portly baker.

With his copies destroyed the baker jumped back and landed awkwardly, clearly not used to fighting for prolonged periods of time. He was likely used to letting his minions do all the work while he stood and watched the carnage that his crew created. Mashyuu grinned at the man and pointed his sword backwards. It flared with power and started to slowly move the Earth Slayer. "Kings Charge!" He shouted. The moment he did, the sword launched him forward towards the big man. Eyes wide the man raised his rolling pin and called out. "Bread shield!" He called out. creating a wall of dough before him. The man smirked when Mashyuu's sword stopped just after ripping through the dough but his smirk quickly faded into fear when Mashyuu's weapon erupted with power and released a blast of pure energy into the mans chest, knocking him off his feet and placing him on his back.

The man coughed and let of of his rolling pin while Mashyuu walked up to the man and placed his blade at the mans neck. "Surrender Muffin Man." Mashyuu ordered. The man slowly nodded up and down until his new minions, cookies shot up out of the dough that he had been creating and rushed at Kenna and Itsu. "HEY!" Mashyuu shouted, taking his eyes off of the baker to watch out for the women. Suddenly the dough ball that was in the air exploded and wrapped around Mashyuu tightly, forcing him to drop his blade while became wrapped up inside the dough coffin. Mashyuu fell to the ground, giving the Baker time to get up and grab his rolling pin. He stalked over to Mashyuu and started to beat him in what he assumed was the head, loud thumps echoing in the air with every hit the man made. He only stopped when he heard Mashyuu mutter something under his breath. Without warning the ground rolled up under him and enveloped the Wizard in a hot magma, baking the dough until it became brittle and Mashyuu broke free from the prison he was in. Blood was caked to his head and flowing down his cheeks. "Dirty trick fat man."

The man chuckled and kicked Mashyuu's sword away from the Slayer. "So a fire Wizard eh? That won't help you much." Mashyuu laughed at the man and shook his head side to side. Earth Gods Extension." Mashyuu uttered. The ground rumbled and two large stones shot up to float in the air, level with Mashyuu's fists. Still the ground rumbled like it was following the Wizards mental orders. Mashyuu swept his leg and the earth rolled under the fat man, taking his feet out from under him to send the large man crashing on his back. Mashyuu jumped up towards the man and slammed his fist down, the stone related to his right hand crashed into the mans gut, compressing it and folding the man in half. He coughed up blood and found the second stone smashing into his face, bruising his head badly in the process.

As fast as he could muster the big man rolled away from Mashyuu and scrambled to his feet but he could already hear Mashyuu's heavy foot falls drawing upon the man. "Earth Gods Cannon!" He shouted. A moment before his body slammed into the man Mashyuu stopped and slammed his fists forward, the boulders following drove into the mans chest, sending him flying through the air and forcing him into a tree. The Wizard smirked and wiped his face of the blood that streamed down his face all while he picked up his blade and put it back into his belt.

He glanced over his shoulder at Kenna and Itsu while they battled the smaller minions and started to make quick work of them. Mashyuu smiled in satisfaction then started to make his way over the man who laid at the base of the tree. Mashyuu stopped about a foot away from the man and looked him over. Mashyuu wasn't sure if the was out cold or if he was faking things. Either way Mashyuu wasn't really wanting to take the chance. He lifted his left hand and allowed a bow to appear in his hand. Slowly he pulled his magical bow string back. A blue magical arrow appeared and started to charge up while Mashyuu took aim at the mans leg. He wasn't going to kill him, but he was going to cripple the man. Mashyuu unleashed his arrow and it hit the man dead in the knee. Then he heard it, the trap.

"Dough Clone! Cracker strike!" The man shouted from above and the thing Mashyuu shot expanded like rising bread. Mashyuu looked up to see the large man dropping down on the Earth Wizards shoulders but even the great weight of the man couldn't drop Mashyuu to even a knee. The Earth Wizard released his bow and started to swing his arm up into the gut of the large man but the expanding dough exploded and ripped across Mashyuu's body like it was sharp razors. Shallow cuts started to bleed all over Mashyuu's body and stung like salt had been poured in his wounds. Mashyuu seethed in pain and fell to a knee, it burned like an infection that was being jabbed with a hard stick. He needed to cast a healing spell but with the Baker on his shoulders, the Earth Wizard couldn't do it. "Shit... Earth Gods Sand Leap!" Mashyuu shouted and exploded when his body changed to sand and floated away. He reappeared ten feet away and pushed his left hand forward. "Earth Gods Combo: Part One!" He commanded, causing three pillars to slam up, one into his chin, one into his gut and the other right between his legs, driving the air out of his body. Mashyuu then dropped to his knee and placed a hand on the ground. "Earth Gods Combo: Part Two!" With that the ground before Mashyuu lit up and cracked, swallowing the portly fellow and closing up again around the man so that only his head was sticking out. Mashyuu took the moment to ease the wounds of the exploding dough. "Light Dragons Healing Word: Cleanse." He muttered. The wizard was wrapped in light that healed the man of the infection, nearly ending the spell on the spot. It was at that moment that Mashyuu's spell had ended and the large man was spit up out of the ground by the magic. The man stood up and growled in pain, now both Wizards were covered in blood, breathing heavily and looking worse for wear. Mashyuu drew his sword again and lifted it high. A wave of golden light started to flow from it and into the sky. "KING CLEAVE!" He shouted while swinging the blade down. The Baker cringed and raised his hand. "Dough Armor!" From his pockets, dough expanded around his body, but it wasn't enough. The dough caved in as Mashyuu's spell hit, sending the man to the ground with a loud thud. That had to be it right? Mashyuu was sure he wouldn't get back up any time soon, he had hit the man with everything aside from his signature spell and his trap spell. The Slayer fell to his rear and started to absorb the sunlight that was raining down on him, allowing the Wizard to start restoring his magical power, as slow as it was to restore it was something.

Mashyuu hadn't seen the man laying on the ground, pulling four long strands of dough from his apron. "Dough Snakes!" He shouted. Two dough snakes went for Kenna while two went for Mashyuu. "Mashyuu! Catch!" Itsu shouted and launched a blast of light towards him from her mouth. Mashyuu opened his mouth and inhaled the light just before the dough wrapped around his neck, choking him. The Earth Wizard started to gag but couldn't get his arms up as the second snake wrapped around his arms, pinning them at his side. Mashyuu struggled for a long moment until he managed to flip his sword in his hand and caught it carefully. He swung it at his neck, chopping both his arm and neck binds, freeing himself just in time to roll back and avoid the big man swinging that rolling pin at the Wizard. Mashyuu stood up and looked to Kenna and pointed his hand out. "Light Dragons Holy Shower!" He shouted and hit Kenna with a blast of what should have been lethal energy but to those that Mashyuu considered a friend, the light healed, closing up some of Kenna's wounds. "Finish this guy off!" Mashyuu shouted while he fell backwards and felt his eyes growing heavy. He was out of magic and it was making him so tired he couldn't even sit up. He could hear the battle going on before him, tell that Kenna was for the most part okay but he had nothing left. Slowly he felt his head turn and he started to pass out. When he woke up the battle was over and he saw Kenna and and Itsu over him, making sure he was safe. "I'm fine, I'm fine. Lets just.... can we go home?" Mashyuu asked while sitting up and picking up his blade. He slid it into his belt and pulled himself to his feet with a blush on his face. He didn't mean to pass out but using all his magic to make sure Kenna was healthy before her fight was draining. "Kenna... I'm sorry. You must think less of me now. I won't let that happen again." Mashyuu promised her while he looked the woman in the beautiful bright almost golden eyes.

To Break Their Greatest Pride Empty Re: To Break Their Greatest Pride

Kenna felt the radiance of Mashyuu’s light magic engulfing her, filling her with the exact amount of energy and lifeforce as the dough snake around her neck was currently squeezing out of her body. She gagged and clawed at her constrictor, yet failed to properly do anything, with only her fingers grasping through the soft dough. The second snake, wrapped around her wrists, tightened its grip and called a pained, yet strained growl out of her body. Her hands fought against the unnatural restriction, and although the dough was thick and heavy, couldn’t withstand against the inhuman power the Etherborn mage possessed. It couldn’t do much against the actual dough that seemed to fill in the blanks between her wrists, but soon enough cracks appeared between the soft, emulated body of the undone pastry body. One hand flung about fiercely once it had escaped the doughy grasp, and fire ascended to it, until the entire sword manifested in its blazing glory, zinging softly within her hand. The sword was pointed at the snake coiled around her neck, and Kenna’s raspy voice let out no more than a single grunt to encourage Antares to do his part; release its powerful shockwave and attack the nerves off all present. She knew it would normally attack only those with bad intentions, those Antares would find unworthy, but she was too closeby not to be hit by the attack’s force, and thus gave her sword the okay just like that. Magic soared through the veins of both friend and foe, and as the dough creatures loosened their grip and dropped down, so did Kenna, letting Anatares drop unto the floor, no longer able to hold it. She shook her head and tried to gain her composure more than once, but all to no avail. The dough snakes in the meanwhile slithered back up to her, to a body that now gently started glowing in an aura much like the magic she held. Colors of blue, purple and black all flared up, flickering like flames and licking at the sky a they fueled their caster with the power she lacked. Kenna, empowered by the wordlessly invoked Etherborn - Swift & Powerful, reached out for her sword and pulled herself up on it. No snake would take her down so easily, even if the difference in strength was as noticeable as it was here.

The Etherborn wasn’t blind to the differences in strength and prowess; unlike Mashyuu she lacked experience, unlike these dough snakes she missed magical force, and unlike Itsu, she lacked the actual power. Yet what neither could beat her in was her willpower. She’d go down fighting if need be, no job left undone once taken, and by far, no job failed. Her pride forbade it, and thus she wouldn’t yield, even if it cost her her life while doing so. The sword flashed up and struck once, twice and thrice in quick succession, stabbing and slashing with the first snake until it slumped unto the ground and disappeared in a cloud of dust. The second snake took its place, and got a similar treatment, seemingly dancing with Kenna as they fought; dodging and striking as she went, all till even that foe took the ground as its final resting place. The young maiden panted heavily, having sustained quite some damage during her struggling, and only now looked back to see how Mashyuu had fallen to the ground and on his turn struggled to stay awake. She had no idea what had happened while she was busy, but could see how tired the mage had become, and thus rushed over without a second thought, just in time to catch the rolling pin of the Muffin Man as it was about to strike. His words only now resonated within her thoughts, slowly as their meaning became apparent. A smile covered her face, yet she shook her head as she pushed the pin away from the man she loved, and stared right back into the Muffin Man’s eyes.

Cold yet calm, her golden eyes pierced into the man’s dark pupils, and her voice threatened with sweet words as she spoke. “Your wounds are already as heavy as they seem. Accept your defeat and leave,” She spoke as she dared glance down at the now unconscious Earth God Slayer. “Now you still can. This is your last and final warning.” The Muffin Man huffed angrily and backed away with the rolling pin, having it at the ready for another strike as he glared at the golden eyed mage. “Never! You killed my precious Gingerbread Men, destroyed my greatest creations… both you and that man! I’ll have my revenge on all of you!” The man roared in pure anger while growing red, furiously gathering his magic for an all-out attack on both persons. Kenna sighed and stepped closer to the man, her body and mind calm as can be, while her body language and eyes betrayed a violent intent she hadn't felt in forever. Symbols of unknown origin appeared unto her skin and slowly crept up her skin until they connected with one another on the other side, and started circling around the width of her arm at a gradually increasing pace. The Etherborn felt funny as it happened, just like it had did the first time, and her eyes flickered into an odd color for a split second. Only the Muffin Man could see this change and gasped shortly while staggering back, yet didn't cease the gathering of his magic; confused to see a glimpse of his foe’s true nature, yet persistent in creating the large dough ball that now manifested above him once more. Unknown to Kenna these sudden changes in appearance were; she didn't notice how her pupils split open and colored her eyes in darkness, how a circle encased her irises and how the shards of demonic corruption gently seeped through her blood as she did. The power of gave was intoxicating, and as her fist clenched and Kenna took another step, she knew she loved this spell. With her aura still buffing her strength, and a funny feeling tickling in the abdominal regions, the Etherborn flashed forth through the help of her hidden lineage; no-one could outrun the descendants of the one who outrun the Gingerbread Man of legends, not even the Muffin Man. In that split second needed to fire the dough ball the strike had happened; powerful and straight, accurately plowing her fist into the man’s solar plexus. She could feel him bending double over her arm, the sickening sound of broken bones as his ribs caved in according to the impact of her fist, how shallow his breathing became as the impact tore more apart within the baker’s helpless body. A weak cough as he fell to the ground and grasped his chest, whimpering loudly, as grunts and groaning were made impossible due to the internal injuries. Kenna looked at the downed man and shook her head. ”There’s no more use in fighting with those injuries. This should’ve been lethal, but I held back…so heed my warning next time, foolish man, for I do not like being underestimated. Her elongated, demonic pupils blinked a last time, flickered and retracted as they returned to their regular golden, round color. ”Live to create once more, but dare not make them live after being created…. Enjoy your work, and don't be as foolish into thinking that one ruined creation needs retaliation. Your second chance starts here, so recover and take it.”

The Etherborn’s words were were harsh, but her intentions true and righteous. Most-likely she would’ve take his life for hurting her beloved, but for some reason she couldn’t, knowing it was her fault in the first place. Kenna dispelled Antares and pulled out something smaller, wrapped in a checkered cloth and bowed down, putting it into the Muffin Man’s hands. Through the cloth he could feel the forme of his first creation, so the confirmation he looked for in Kenna’s eyes was one that soothed his heart a little; she had not done away nor eaten the first Gingerbread Man he’d created. Garmr walked in closer now the fighting had been done, and received instructions to bring the baker to a safer place to get treatment, and to find her again at Ace of Spades once having done so. Garmr growled but did as being told, carrying the man off into the woods after having him put onto his back. The raven-haired maiden then knelt back down near Mashyuu’s side together with Itsu, watching over him until he woke up again about an hour later, seemingly invigorated and rested again. He sat up and grabbed his sword, mumbling he was fine until Kenna grabbed him by his arms to stop him from walking off just like that. His blush was apparent, and when voicing his worry of being seen as a weakling in her eyes only made her smile brighter. ”You were all but weak, Mashyuu… truly. Had you not been around, god knows what would’ve happened. It was because you were worrying about me that this happened, so if anyone is weak right now, it ought to be me.” She ran her hand through his hair and tiptoed to kiss his lips for a short while, then pulled back and took his hand, her fingers tangling with his as she started leading him away from the place of battle. ”But nonetheless, you were my hero today~” The maiden smiled happily at her God Slayer, with no single clue to what the rest of the day would hold for her. She’d gotten more than she’d bargained for today alone… but for no reason would she exchange them. Even though their fight had been fierce, the thought of having the slayer near her for the time remaining was more than enough to wash away her worries.
