The Lycan Woods were a treacherous area to say the least, a vast and enormous woodlands were the top of the trees were so thick that sunlight barely made it passed the branches. Thus casting an everlasting darkness among them. But that wasn't the worst part, the worst part was as the name suggests. Namely Lycans resided in this forest, fearful creatures that were more beast then man that easily slaughtered every being the came across.
Yet despite the lurking dangers of the forest, there are some who'd wager their lives. Some were mere merchants. Testing their luck, hoping that their choice to travel through the woodlands instead of around wouldn't result with them paying their lives. Others were adventures, explorers looking for new thrills. Then there were mages, looking for a challenge to face they feral beasts. Only to earn some extra buck. And among them, there was an even more special breed of mages. Treasure hunters, who'd face any dangers as long as it meant to be rewarded with piles of gold. Or if they were lucky some legendary item from a time long passed.
Be that as it may, that deep in this forest, lays an old tomb. Stowed away in some cavern. Or so it is told. A soft whispering rumor, that started in a tavern in the town of the guildless. Talonia. Where former Savages sometimes gathered, and bragged about their pillaging, killing and stealing everything that they could find. Yes it was a town of the lawless, were sometimes the lost souls come to drink away the night. And it was during a night as such, that one of those mages finally had a drink to much and spoke of a place. Hidden away in the Lycan Woods, a place that once belonged to the infamous guild. Abandoned and forgotten. A place where the hordes of the Skull would hide their stolen goods, from the days when they could roam the lands freely. Plundering everything in their sights. He spoke of a room filled with gold, jewels. Gorgeous decorated swords. Anything that could come to mind. It was supposed to be there and more.
Now be that as it may, it was only natural that anyone with some sort of intellect could easily pick up on this poor drunken lad, may it be the bartender or some bystander. It was more then certain that this rumor would spread, reaching eventually the doors of Golden Phoenix, the treasure hunting guild. The place were any rumor about gold, mystery items and other treasure would eventually end up. But if rumors reached all the way down there, then you be sure that other eyes would have set their gaze upon this forsaken place.
