The Lycan Woods were a treacherous area to say the least, a vast and enormous woodlands were the top of the trees were so thick that sunlight barely made it passed the branches. Thus casting an everlasting darkness among them. But that wasn't the worst part, the worst part was as the name suggests. Namely Lycans resided in this forest, fearful creatures that were more beast then man that easily slaughtered every being the came across.

Yet despite the lurking dangers of the forest, there are some who'd wager their lives. Some were mere merchants. Testing their luck, hoping that their choice to travel through the woodlands instead of around wouldn't result with them paying their lives. Others were adventures, explorers looking for new thrills. Then there were mages, looking for a challenge to face they feral beasts. Only to earn some extra buck. And among them, there was an even more special breed of mages. Treasure hunters, who'd face any dangers as long as it meant to be rewarded with piles of gold. Or if they were lucky some legendary item from a time long passed.

Be that as it may, that deep in this forest, lays an old tomb. Stowed away in some cavern. Or so it is told. A soft whispering rumor, that started in a tavern in the town of the guildless. Talonia. Where former Savages sometimes gathered, and bragged about their pillaging, killing and stealing everything that they could find. Yes it was a town of the lawless, were sometimes the lost souls come to drink away the night. And it was during a night as such, that one of those mages finally had a drink to much and spoke of a place. Hidden away in the Lycan Woods, a place that once belonged to the infamous guild. Abandoned and forgotten. A place where the hordes of the Skull would hide their stolen goods, from the days when they could roam the lands freely. Plundering everything in their sights. He spoke of a room filled with gold, jewels. Gorgeous decorated swords. Anything that could come to mind. It was supposed to be there and more.

Now be that as it may, it was only natural that anyone with some sort of intellect could easily pick up on this poor drunken lad, may it be the bartender or some bystander. It was more then certain that this rumor would spread, reaching eventually the doors of Golden Phoenix, the treasure hunting guild. The place were any rumor about gold, mystery items and other treasure would eventually end up. But if rumors reached all the way down there, then you be sure that other eyes would have set their gaze upon this forsaken place.

Who would have thought it, Summer Guiyang, fireworks expert and rising star, would make it in the cursed lands to look for treasure. The female wanted to look for treasure on her own free will and not around anyone else, she even told Laysha and Stella to stay at her house while she explored, it was just incase she came across some dangerous creatures that the two couldn’t fend themselves from. Besides, it would much more interesting if she did find something, she might find something for her pets and she didn’t want her pets to know that after all. She came to the cursed lands after hearing about some glorious treasure being hidden here too… She was basically in for it as quick as possible.

While walking around the area, the female gripped onto a tree since she was about to fall over, but she then felt some swooping going around, she turned around quickly to see the figure of a fallen star. Summer shook her head, she told Stella to stay home! Now Laysha was going to be worried if the two didn’t come back in the allocated time slot. Ugh, this was so annoying.

    “Stella!”

    “Squeak???”

“You were meant to stay home!”

“Squeak…” Stella listened to her commands with disappointment and started to show some tears before she started to cry like a little baby. Summer felt really bad and just hugged Stella apologetically.

“I’m sorry… I just don’t want you hurt. Stella, stay close to me… ok??” Summer cautioned the fallen star. Stella took note of this and then just cuddled into her master quite comfortably like the bairn she was. “So cute…”

Continuing on. Summer finally found a cavern and she grinned. She was sure that this was the spot where she could find some glorious treasure. It looked pretty much abandoned. Be as it may, there was surely some treasure in that cavern for the fireworks expert to take a plunge at, she couldn’t wait.

Running towards the cavern, she stopped and grinned as she stepped into the cavern. It had quite a freaky atmosphere now that she thought about it. She hoped there wouldn’t be any ghosts around that would mess her up. She was scared of ghosts for plenty of good reasons, that and the fact that Stella wasn’t exactly ready for that in Summer’s opinion.

“This cavern… I guess I should go this way.”

    “Squeak squeak!”

Treasure in the shroud Empty Re: Treasure in the shroud

There it was again, the faint sense of a magical presence in his vicinity. A sensation that was absent for so long, that Dahau almost forgot how it felt like. But now that the flickering presence of a human being was sensed once again, the enigmatic stranger could almost taste it. This could be his change, to be free from his restraints, this infernal prison he was cast into.

He didn't even know how long it had been since he was trapped in this unholy damnation. Days had become weeks, and weeks quickly turned into an eternity. For all he knew, it could have been centuries since his former proteges trapped him inside this magical mirror. Hell, maybe even an entire millennium had passed, he honestly didn't know. Being surrounded by nothing but darkness made him lose all sense of time. And eventually fall into some sort of slumber he'd put himself in, only to be awakened by the faintest of sensations.

Slowly his memories started to flood back, and with it his emotions. Hatred, anger, joy. Everything came back with every vivid flash of his own past. Briefly he saw in front of him the small group of aspiring mages bowing in front of him. Training under him. Then it jumped to something as meaningless as devouring a good meal. Till it came to an rushing halt with the last memory he had before he was pushed into the darkness of the mirror.
There he stood, surrounded by his five best students, dark mages who were personally trained by him in the magical arts. He recalled them vividly, their motives, their reasons to live. One was covered in a hooded black cloak. And used Dahau's teaching to train himself in darkness magic. A vile and destructive form of element. Another one, with a conceited smirk on his face. Clothed in red, that one took a liking to pain. Especially when it inflicted it on others. Another one, was a tall and muscular fellow. Wearing extremely extravagant clothing, he was basically dripping with vanity itself. All of them were surging with power, channeling it into a single spell. Dahau could still remember the sensation of that very spell. The power swirling around him, toying with him as it dragged him further into a whirlpool of pure darkness.

Just remembering it made him angry once more, a burning wrath from deep inside of him boiling towards the surface. Yet, Dahau kept his cool for now, as he knew that the chance het got now was probably his only one he'd ever could get. There was someone here, and he needed this person. Maybe just as he could sense her, she could reach him the same way. He'd only needed to make his presence known, so he started to increase his own magical presence. Hoping that it would reach beyond the mirror.

    “Squeak??”

    “Stella?? What’s wrong?”

    “Squeak, squeak!”

Stella, the fallen star, span around. She seemed to be in a bit of a pickle about some things, of course Summer didn’t understand because she cannot understand what her pet was speaking about, but she was sure that Stella was trying to tell her something. “Stella, sweetie, nothing’s wr-”

Suddenly, Summer stopped speaking and felt a surge of energy enter her system, it have her goosebumps and she has never felt such a presence before… it felt regal, yet powerful at the same time. It was like she was not meant to feel such a presence in her life, the rising star payed no heed however, she has to brave herself for the worst. Facing the music cannot be so bad, she has faced a lot of bad things so far and so she had to take that into consideration.

“I should walk forward.” Summer breathed as she continued to walk the tunnel that came with the cavern. With every step that the fireworks expert took, the strong feeling got stronger and stronger to the point that adrenaline started to flood through her body. She lost control of what she was thinking and she was ready to do anything that was going to be thrown at her. The only issue is that it kind of made her sickly too, she has never felt such power before, but then again, she has never concentrated on such power before due to her hyperactivity lately. She felt lucky that she has matured from the moment of joining Golden Phoenix.

Summer was forced to stop, she felt like she had to stop. Somehow, Stella stopped too and began to float but in a much more panicked state. It was obvious that she was worried about herself and Summer, but knew she could do absolutely nothing about it.

    “I feel something… strange here… it feels sickly, Stella…”

Looking around at the room she stumbled in, she has spotted a few things. There was one thing that seemed to have caught Summer’s attention: A mirror. Why the hell would a mirror be even here?? She didn’t get it, nor did she want to understand why, but maybe this mirror had magical properties…

Summer felt entranced all of a sudden and couldn’t help but walk towards the mirror and place her hand on the thing that was allowing her to look at her own features. Her jet black hair was growing ever longer, she should probably have her hair trimmed soon.

“Stella… do you think I will better myself someday?? I have had so many issues when I was tiny that I am surprised I am managing!” The fireworks expert queried as she gave off a slight chuckle to herself. “Well… this mirror is certainly gorgeous… I… well… have no words for it! I should take it to my house, or maybe the guild! Elyx will love this mirror very much I think!”
