The demon had found a way to get a pretty good amount of money to his crew, Black Sails again. This time it required him to do something a bit different than his usual jobs where he just forced his way into things and fought his way through any conflict. He was to go to the Serene Cliffs where a war between two groups was a about to break out and find a way of stopping it. Both groups had set up fortifications in the Serene Cliffs just so that they could fight each other to the death which the area they had chose to do it in was not the place for that at all. It was a place meant for peace and tranquility. Not one where it was for animosity and bloodshed. This naturally left the Magic Council wanting the entire battle prevented and stopped but they could not do it themselves because it could cause more animosity between both sides with them blaming each other for having the Magic Council brought in to deal with the other side which could possibly cause an even bigger battle. So the Magic Council wanted to hire a mage or more to go an do what they could to prevent things from escalating even more. They hoped that this would solve the issue and were actually paying a good amount of jewel to see it happen. Thing was, they were pressed for time and did not exactly look for the best mediators for the job which lead to the people they did send either joining a side or giving up in trying in the end. So that lead to Cirven taking up the job and making an attempt to do what others had failed at and because he was proven to be stronger than most of those they had sent in the past through his past jobs, the Magic Council knew they did not have to worry about him being bullied into joining a side or leaving which made him a welcome recipient for the job.

The job would be a sort of first for him as he had never been a mediator at all but he was going to try to do it. He knew how grudges and revenge could cause a life time of turmoil for all those involved and wanted to possibly help some others avoid such a fate for themselves but he didn't exactly think he could do it alone so he had called on the help of his partner and newfound friend, Noheme. She was a goddess so he hoped that she had some sort of way with words and dealing with disputes that he could not have. Thing is, he second guessed it all when he thought about how she did not know much about any of the workings of the world of Earthland and was still learning things.

He didn't really have many others he could go to though so he decided to count his loses and find a way of getting a hold of the goddess. He knew that she had a bird follow him around, well not exactly follow because it kept a awkward distance away from him and tried to not be seen so it was more like it stalked him. He needed to find a way to get the bird and use it as some sort of way to talk to her. He went about this by running into one of the many forest areas near Serene Cliff and making the bird move around quicker than it was possibly used to. He then made it travel around tree after tree and corner after corner until he was able to temporarily lose it. He jumped up into the trees and used the ability he had to increase his speed as he traveled backwards and towards the area the bird should have been coming from. He caught sight of it and quickly charged towards it. The bird realized what was going on and tried to get away but it was too late because Cirven managed to catch it in his hand and use his static cling spell to keep it stuck to his hand. "How the hell does this thing work..." He mumbled out loud as he looked over the winged creature. He then decided to just look it in its face and yell while hoping for the best.

He took in a deep breath and yelled out at the bird's face. "HEY! I NEED YOUR HELP! GET OVER HERE!" He did not know if the yelling would work so he then continued to move the bird all around and look over it to see if it had anything weird on it like a random button-like piece of flesh or something in order to reach his partner but did not manage to find anything peculiar on the creature.

A serene nature that would soothe one's heart. Places like that existed everywhere, the living beings simply had to search. Even in the most desolate of places, someone could surely find a piece of land like that. Tis' was because everyone would see this place differently, as it would take different effects. In simple terms, both humans and other creatures always had their own version of perfect paradise where they could feel calm. Some would indeed find a meadow filled with flowers beautiful, but others could despise the place, wanting to burn in to the ground while finding a charred empty room perfect for them. But at least Noheme shared a lot of these preferences with the general public, as she visited the Serene Cliffs before and indeed found them to be quite peaceful. And right now, she was listening to a very annoying noise that was coming from that very place.

The fact that her partner caught her servant was one thing, but how he screamed at him was entirely different. The poor creature didn't know how to react and became confused, scared even from the god slayer. And since Cornix was in his default mode, his was in direct communication with the goddess that gave him form and purpose. This made her quite angry as she clenched her fists and yelled the name of her loyal slave. She needed a gate to be opened asap, unless she wanted to lose her sense of hearing because of how insensitive her partner was. And only seconds later, the black rift would open right above said dog demon, the goddess' bare food swiftly landing on his face to repay a little bit for the birdy. Using his as a platform, she would jump back and land on the grassy ground with a sharp gaze.

"I would really appreciate it if you stopped manhandling my servant like that! And never, ever yell at him like that again! The poor thing will be traumatized and then what will I do with him?" Ai followed as well, her now usual fox figure appearing nearby from another portal as well. She, however, did not say a word and merely observed the whole ordeal, clearly sighing internally. She was travelling the Earthland as well in her spare time, but despite seeing many things, she had not yet witnessed a team which's members would be at each other's throat this much. It was quite a miracle in fact, that these two didn't kill one another just yet. At least she didn't have to get involved herself. Sometimes, being nothing more than a servant was quite beneficial it seemed. One did not have to deal with problems like this and could only laugh behind master's back. Not that she was the type to actually do so.

Cirven was not completely ready for the portal opening up above him and because of that Noheme's foot landed on his face when he looked up at it. He was able to sustain her weight as she stepped off of him but that did not mean that an anger didn't flare up inside of him from what she had just done. "Hey!" He yelled out after she landed. He rubbed his face over and over and even spit out on the ground near him, letting go of the probably now traumatized bird. "I can taste your foot! Do you wash it anytime? Wow, that was gross!" He continued to yell out and spit out more as she spoke to him. His frantic spitting stopped only after she stopped talking.

"You do know if you just had the bird be more like a pet rather than a stalker for me that I would be way nicer to it. You never did tell me about him and never even tried to ask if I wanted the thing around me like that. I mean, we could easily just have him be a way we could communicate instead of you just coming out of no where using him as a sort of conduit to figure out when you wanted to do it." Cirven's attention was drawn to Ai who had also arrived. "Yo Ai, how are things?" His tone changed to a much more friendly one when speaking to the servant of the goddess.

He sighed to let out the frustration he was feeling and to hopefully get the thoughts of the taste of his partner's foot out of his mind and spoke in his usual tone. "So yeah, I was needing your help with a job where we would be mediators to stop a war between two factions here. I'm hoping you can help me with this because I think I will need someone who is as strong as you to help me with doing this. Otherwise, this war might start and completely ruin this area and maybe even more than that." He tried to word things well enough for the goddess to understand. She did have trouble learning things with the culture(s) of Earthland so he tried to word thing well enough for the completely oblivious to understand. "Hopefully you don't need that broken down anymore, fox. I can't really do that because I broke it down for even a child would understand it well..." He gave off a grin as he teased the goddess as a sort of payback for her putting his foot on his face.

The girl merely crossed her hands across her chest, the expression that was wearing growing darker and more annoying as she heard the comment that escaped her partner. At times, he surely could be a gentleman. But more often than not, he was just... this. "My hygiene is perfectly fine, thank you very much. My legs are probably more clean than your whole body." After all, there was really not dirt of anything nasty on the ground in her Astral realm. It was all simply grass that was pleasant to touch. And even though one would figure out you need soil for that, the world she lived in was not like this one at all. It defied logic itself, as everything was build around fantasy of the goddess that formed the world with her powers. Though the powers were long asleep by now. After all, she wielded very different magic now, one that was designed to poison her foes and destroy them all. She was still really surprised that her partner was not interested in the slightest in this new strength of hers. Obviously she saw exactly how he got his powers, but he did not know how she got hers. But if he did not care about her life at all, well, that was just fine. After all, they were merely partners, members of the same team. And nothing more... they did not need to care about one another outside of the battlefield if that was not to his liking. Even though Noheme wished to get friends and even promised someone that she would do her best in that area, try to understand human relationships. She was failing quite a bit so far and there was not really much she could do about that at this point. She just had to continue on moving forward and seeing what she'll find behind the next corner.

Though she got even more mad when the talk became directed at her servant, Cornix. The crow flew away from Cirven as soon as it could, returning to it's rightful owner and sitting on the fox girl's left shoulder, almost snuggling against her face and hair. "It's for your own convenience, you know? There is really no pleasing you... I figured you would have complaints if I just had him near you all the time so that we could connect at any point, so I instructed him to keep his distance, not annoy you constantly. And even then, you don't like it. If you don't want to communicate with me at all, then that's fine!" Turning her head away from the mad, she pouted. When they were teasing one another, things were just fine. But when it came to her subjects that she held dear, she was quick to blow things out of proportions and start getting angry and aggressive. Just like right now. If she didn't know this man as well as she did, then she would have probably left this place at this point, not ever returning her gaze. But because this was her teammate, she stayed and listened to his words, reason why she was here in the first place. And Ai as well, as few words were directed at her as well. The way he shifted his tone to a way more friendly one made the poor slave girl turn her head away in awkward smile, her head filled with regrets and questioning just how this relationship actually worked. "N..no need to be asking a mere slave how she's doing. I'm well as long as my master is, that is all you need to know." She was just glad to not be caught in cross fire between these two, as there would be not much left of her if that were to ever happen. But she did notice something in the distance as she averted her gaze.

Something that looked like a rather large group of people marching in certain direction. The reason why they were here. It was a reason that was not very appealing to the moon goddess in all honesty. Not because it involved something she would not like, or the fact that they were not instructed to devastate the armies instead of making peace between them. No, it was something else entirely. Her head suddenly hung low, the green hair covering her eyes for now as she spoke out. "So they are at it again... humans and their beloved destruction..." Her voice was devoid of all happiness and filled with sorrow instead. But she was not god of this world so there was really no point in worrying about this too much. They had a job to do, right? Her head would raise once more as she looked at Cirven with determination in her eyes. "Yeah, I understand. Shall we go then? I would imagine that time is precious in situation like this one, we need to get to them before they decide to attack. " Her fists were clutched and even Ai was surprised by this development. But it was heartwarming for her as well, a good indication that Noheme, the goddess from another world was starting to accept humanity. She was starting to care about them and wished to help. This was the moon goddess that she wanted to see all this time. The being that would go to this land only to understand others. With a sigh, she pointed towards the location where the army was. "I think I saw them a moment ago in that direction. Though they still might be quite far, we would have already heard something if they were any closer." So they had a goal to follow now. Surely, this job would go on successfully and a peace would be established once again. But the moment the fox girl looked in that direction... she got a very bad feeling for some reason.

He did not really understand the goddess that well. He thought that it could maybe be related to the fact that she was from her own dimension, had no sense of how things were with humans which he was half of one in the past or because she was a woman. He never could completely understand women and how they reacted to things maybe except for his captain, Anastasia. Ana seemed to be more of a tomboy than anything else though so she rarely had moments where she acted like a woman which was completely fine for the demon because it made things so much easier. In the case of Noheme though, it seemed like she took some things a bit too seriously and he had to start watching what he said and did around her to make sure she did not do anything either of them would regret. They both were the types to become hot heads towards each other before talking it out a bit more civil and without yelling or trying to talk down the other.

"I never said I did not want you to have him around me or that I did not want to talk to you. It was more like it felt like you were trying to keep tabs on me yourself instead of asking me and making this more of a mutual thing. You are someone I consider a good friend who I have fought against great threats on a couple of occasions now and can complete trust to have my back for even more of them. I am here if you need a back to support you too. Remember that. Don't get so butt hurt that you see things as more negative than that." He gave her a warm smile to follow up his short speech. He hoped that his words would help her understand what he was usually thinking about the team they had established after their fight in the coliseum against all of the pets and pet owners. A team that would actually support each other when they needed it even though the teasing would always be a thing that drove them a bit crazy.

He was somewhat saddened by how Ai sounded. He was trying to show the girl some attention and show that she was just as much a part of the 'team' the demon and goddess had as they were. "Just because you are a slave to Noheme here does not mean you are not a member of the team we have in some way. We can't really get around as easy without you, at least the fox goddess can't." He found a way to tease Noheme again and made sure to look her way with a grin on his face to show what he was doing even more so. He wondered a bit on what she would say back to him for that one.

The conversation had progressed to the job that was at hand and the war they needed to prevent. Noheme's sudden change in tone and look bothered him a bit. She had done something like this before where she suddenly got a lot less chatty with him and just wanted to do what she had to do. It sucked away the fun they could have in doing things but he understood it a lot more this time by her remark about humans. After all, he was born to be an experiment thanks to humans. He was sent down a spiral of horrible things in his life thanks to humans trying to control things and create things that they had no business creating. His life was only slowly fixing itself now from all of what the bad type of humans had done to him and because of that he completely understood his partner's remark. "Yeah. Things don't change with humans much. I was always an outcast from them due to my pointed ears and then even more so later when I found out I was half demon. Now I'm not even human anymore but it was like things didn't change much with most of them. I am still looked at differently by them and they still look to try and use my power for their own gain. Humans can be the worst sometimes." His own look had changed to a sadder one but not for long as he thought of a topic to bring up to Noheme. He took a few seconds to speak up because he thought about how he probably just gave the goddess some fuel to light on up by talking about his pointed ears. It was a super easy way to anger him quickly but she probably did not think his ears were all that weird like others did, especially from where she came from.

"But, yeah. Enough with that sad stuff and lets talk about something else. We might have a little but before we reach them so how did you get this new power you have? It is pretty impressive. Can you make any type of poison you want? Also that big dragon thing you made of poison was pretty cool. Is it fun to fight against?" He bombarded her with questions about her new magic and hoped that she would actually answer him. He figured there might have been some sort of long explanation behind how she got the new powers she had but he figured they had time to talk as they moved through the area.

Despite the words that moved out of his mouth, the girl remained quite angered. One of her hands would reach up to pet the crow for a moment as she listened to it all. It was true that maybe this thing was far too one-sided, but she did her best. She knew not of another way and instead of praise that she desired, she was scolded. Surely one could not blame her for reacting the way she did. Especially since it involved her precious servant as well. She closed her eyes for a moment as her mouth opened as well. "You still didn't have to yell at the poor creature. He did his best to follow my orders and this is his reward for all that effort? The fact that he is all magical doesn't mean you can abuse him like that! How would you like it if I started hurting that giant snake-like thing you always ride on? Probably not great, right?" She knew that Cirven was close to that pet of his. She saw that much in the town of Magnolia when they fought against Nestler or whatever his name was. Honestly, she already forgot at this point. Noheme truly wasn't one to get stuck in past too much. But even that happened occasionally. "This world and it's concepts are alien to me. And so are humans or even demons. If you want to blame me for seeing things as more negative then they are, go ahead. You'll just have to break everything down for me as if I was not more than a little child." Looking away, she used the same term as he did before. No snarky remark that would be directed at him, rather she insulted herself just to make a point. She wasn't capable of reading minds of others, neither she was a very good judge of character. She was simply a lost being in this wast world, not really knowing what she should do.

Ai was similar to that, but different in certain areas. She too was exploring this land on her own. But her personality and traits were different from her goddess, allowing her to be... better... in the whole adaptation thing. She knew many things and understood nearly everything. A good reason why she should always stay by the other fox's side. But even when she was by her side, she dared not step into conversation between these two. At least not until she was dragged into it against her will. Cirven's words managed to make her blush, her flustered face turning towards him again with somewhat annoyed look. "If you say so. But I'll have you know that my position as master's slave will always take priority over any other position, team one or otherwise." Her loyalty was absolute and if these two would find themselves in danger at the same time, she would always choose Noheme. No offense to Cirven, but that was just how things worked for this little one. "But thank you. I appreciate it..." But it would be rude to not even properly thank him for the kind words. As for the moon goddess who he hoped to have some sort of negative reaction, well, she merely placed her hand atop the young spirit's head, patting her gently. "Yeah, I don't know where I would be without you. You're my everything, the best slave you could have." A warm smile. She was far too busy complimenting and thinking about the girl in front of her to bark back at the demon dog and his annoying teasing. But he just had to deal with it, as tender and sweet moments like these were somewhat rare even when the two girls traveled together all the time. But it was true that the venomous goddess could not have gotten a better companion for this treacherous journey.

But the dog demon was pretty good too, he had to receive at least some credit. As he spoke about humans as well, she simply signed and turned her back towards him, as if she was ready to walk off towards the armies. But she stood still and listened to the very end. Once she could no longer hear his words, she would smile lightly. "You were treated like that because of pointy ears? Guess I was lucky until now that bystanders didn't try to throw stones at me because of my tail and ears. Her appearance was much more unusual that her partners, no matter how you looked at it. And even if common human knew about Joya and it's cat-like residents, it would take an expert to know that there were tribes of people that had genes of animals other than cats. Well, maybe it was because the fox girl was willing to help them all, rid them of their problems. Who knows how it would be if she was merely passing by, trying live a normal human life. Perhaps her dream was just far too silly? It was very possible... after all, she was but a goddess from another realm. She knew not of this world and how people inside of it would think. She was much more simplistic than them in every regard. Trying to understand humans maybe was a futile task, but perhaps she could understand the demon that was standing behind her. It would be better than nothing all, right? Somehow, that thought made her chuckle. At least she was in better mood now, making even Ai Eden smile as she stood beside her master and ready to serve. Until recently, she thought that she had very little around her. But her eyes were opened and she realized that she had much more than she knew of. A reliable partner, slave who was also a lover... and a ton of experience from her journey across Earhthland.

It was actually very fulfilling, bringing joy to the girl. But the pleasant and warm feeling would subdue quickly when the talk shifted to the topic of her magic. It was extremely odd, this feeling. She was curious as to why he did not ask before and in a sense, she wanted him to ask question as well. But now that she actually had to talk about this all, she suddenly grew saddened at the truth behind her. She would not turn to face her partner and would continue showing him her back and tail as she spoke out. "It's a curse I obtained from the one I hate most, the god and demon which gave me my life. And inserted this poison into my body for his own amusement, only so that he could watch me suffer as it swallowed me whole. Even though I can control it like this, it's slowly consuming me and my whole world. I slowed down the process as much as I could, but the once beautiful orange sky of my Astral World is now tinted purple. And I don't think there is anything I can do to stop it. It's a gift of pain and suffering that will eventually make me crumble into pieces." She spoke about her magic without even realizing her own words. Was she ever this direct with anyone at all. In all honesty, she didn't recall. The man in front of her was probably the first one who managed to get her to talk like this. How ironic... she hated men when she first came Earthland. And while she still had some distaste towards them, this one was just fine. They were... good friends, as he said it. It made the moon goddess blush ever so slightly, but she still did not know what the true meaning of friendship was. She still had so much more to learn about, it was actually quite impressive. "Anyway, we should get a move on. Astra!" As she called out the name, another portal opened and from it, creature would run and stop right next to her. Noheme would not hesitate and take a seat atop the beast while Ai would get right behind her. "I hope you can keep up, slowpoke~" Grinning back at Cirven, she finally gave him at least some revenge before they would all head towards the army in the distance.

Serenity or War?(Job w/Noheme) Empty Re: Serenity or War?(Job w/Noheme)

Post by Cirven 15th February 2017, 9:17 pm

Cirven did not exactly know what to say to what he had done to Noheme's servant and pet bird. He had taken a assumption and made it into something that probably scarred the creature a bit more than helped both of them and he realized he could have done it in a easier way for all of them. He gave a glare to Noheme as she asked him about what would he do if she attacked Zinnath in some way? This triggered a fire inside of him that he naturally would not be able to completely control because of what Zinnath represented to him as well as her being his closest thing to him left in the world now. He clutched his hands into fists and stared at the goddess as the thoughts of fighting her over her imaginary scenario went through his mind. It excited him a bit to think about fighting her which was probably due to his want for a strong opponent that he could go all out with but the circumstance would not be the correct one in that scenario. He let go of his clenched fists and spoke out. "If you hurt her then there would be a lot less talking between us and you would only add to how my life has had constant problems in it with people which always leads to some sort of battle that has the fun sucked out of it." He chuckled a bit to his own comment as the words he spoke came out as he got the thought for them so it helped him realize how his life had continually been over and over. He straightened himself up for his next comment. "Yeah. Sorry. You are right. I went too far with him and should have done it another way. Hopefully the little guy isn't too shooken up by it so that he can continue to be a great ally to keep us in touch with each other." His words were sincere over what had happened and wanting to keep connected to the goddess. He had stated why for that earlier as he saw her as a friend.

The warm moment between the goddess and her other servant, Ai was something that he had seen a few times before but he could tell was a rare thing to happen. Noheme had a tendency to not be so open with some people and Ai was one of those people. It was like she expected her servants to know her quickly and to understand what she wanted from them at all times which was something that he understood and probably would have done himself if he was a God with servants that were at his beck and call. Either way though, it was nice to see that Noheme was not heartless as she seemed to be at times and could show that she treasured her servants as much as they probably did her. He wondered if she saw him as one of her servants in a way? In a sense, he was and he wasn't. They were partners but he had protected her before on multiple occasions and listened to her during other times too. He came to the conclusion in his head that he did not really care as much as others might have. Friendship was something that was a bumpy road but at times could be something where one of the friends needs the other and that person listens to them and helps them through the issues they needed help with. This was a concept that Cirven could even compare with how he was with his sibling before she was taken away from the life she had.

Then it happened. Noheme made a slight shot at his ears. To her it was just a simple comment but anyone even mentioning his ears in anyways were usually told a sort of retort that ended in Cirven and that person physically fighting each other even if they did not mean anything bad by mentioning his ears. It was a biological thing implanted in him when he was young to take charge when someone bothered him in such a way. His ears were the only thing that bothered him in that way because in the past they were the only thing he had to remember his mother by and for the time when he though she was not evil and now, just mentioning them in a bad tone would annoy him to a very high extent. He held back his tongue before he could say anything because he knew his friend did not know about it and figured she would not do it again because it was not so much of a common thing to bring up by her but if she were to do it again he would make sure she understood that his ears were off limits and what they meant to him.

The fox goddess then answered his question on how she got her new powers. She seemed so bothered not too long ago that he never asked her so he thought he would ask now and see how happy she got talking about it but it turned into something completely different. The life was sucked out of her as she spoke about some entity cursing her with the poison that was now inside of her that she could use at her own whim. A poison that was slowly killing her and even tainted her own realm with a sort of plague also by turning the skies of it to a purple color from what she said was orange. He could relate to her problem because he was in a similar state in the past. He was cursed with being brought into the world as a biological weapon that would be used to further the goals of those with higher standing than him and had little choice in the matter. This was something he was forced to come to terms with when his sister was held captive and threatened of being killed if he did not do as he was ordered by Cor Torva and kill those who could stand in their way to oppose them. Even though the fact of who he was killing was something that changed later, the entire ordeal ended in a way where he had absolutely no control over it at the time. "Fox, I'm here if you want help in getting rid of the curse put on you. I can help in some sort of way, I'm sure. I'm a God Slayer so it makes sense that I can help fight against what ever created you, right?" The last part of his comment was less of a question and more of a way to get her to agree that he could help her. He figured he had to show her that he wanted to help her by stating it over a few times and getting it stuck into her head. He had gotten help from her a few times before on the jobs he had taken and even now had her helping him so it was only natural that he felt that he should return the favor.

Before the group could all start moving, Noheme called out and summoned a type of mount that she then got on top of. Cirven was surprised that she was going to use a ride to get where they needed at first but figured their energy was probably better spent on if they would be thrown into fighting against one or both of the armies in front of them. Noheme teased him by calling him a slowpoke. Something that he took pride in was his speed and ability to react quickly but he did not want to overexert himself in a race against a mount that he knew nothing about so instead he went with another idea. "Don't worry." He lifted his fingers into his mouth and let out a loud whistle. The sound of the nearby forest area rustling and birds flying into the air to get away from something coming echoed out near them. The loud sound probably wasn't the best of ideas but Noheme had challenged him in a way to see if he could keep up and he wanted to outdo her by going even faster. Seconds later, Zinnath appeared out of the forest area and into the sky where she came down and landed next to Cirven, who pet her causing her to hiss in happiness. "That won't be an issue. You try to keep up though. Wouldn't want you to get stuck on the ground behind me." He teased her for having a mount that looked as though it could only travel on the ground and then jumped onto Zinnath's back and took off. Truthfully, he was not going to try and stay ahead of Noheme at all and planned to make sure Zinnath stayed close to her. They were on a job that could end up getting nasty at any second so they had to make sure they were ready for that and not distracted.

Post by Noheme 16th February 2017, 11:14 am

Another sigh. But it was not followed by any words, only silence. The goddess would only listen to the man's words, taking them all in. At first, it didn't look like he understood. But in the end he semi-apologized for doing what he did to Cornix, the crow that flew off the fox girl's shoulder and started circling them in the air. If only they could all have wings and fly away from their troubles. But even that would probably not help, as problems would arise everywhere they would go, no matter how hard they would try to escape. Somehow, the longer this was going on, the more melancholic the goddess became. Even if it was not something that would really show on the outside, it was indeed happening and it was not very comfortable. Life was meant to be enjoyed, but she felt as if she was losing something instead. Surely that feeling could not have been caused just by this simple argument, could it? It sounded ridiculous but it was certainly possible. Anything in this world was possible as one would have it. Closing her eyes for a moment, the girl simply tried to appreciate the silence and wing that was blowing on the cliffs. They were pretty high up so even the temperature here was slightly cooler than in most places. It was honestly quite pleasant. It was shame they had to travel off into the distance soon, break the peaceful nature of this land. Even with her love of battle, this was something she could appreciate. A moment of respite, holy site that would help her sort out all of her thoughts. Something that she thought would be possible only in her own world. Was that a sigh she began accepting Earthland as a place she belonged to? No, probably not. It was only that this location was just too graceful even for the moon goddess.

Though her ears twitched quite erratically when she heard Cirven's words once more. Yet another sigh. This was filled with despair and sorrow, but not enough to consume them whole. And finally, she would turn her head around to face him at least slightly. "I guess you didn't notice. The magic I wield now is also meant to slaughter gods, a god-killing magic. But even then, even with our powers combine... I don't think we would ever stand a chance. If he's strong enough to bend the will of reality to his liking, what can we possibly do? Anyway... do you really now have anything better than 'Fox'?" She was smiling during her whole small speech, but it was a smile filled with sadness. At least until the last part where it turned into more of a grin. She did not dislike him calling her that, but it did sound little... well... not great for a goddess. After all, it was almost like if he was calling her nothing more than a filthy animal. Only part of her body was like that and she would not appreciate being taken like that as a whole. Not that there was much time to argue about it, as they were running kinda short on that precious commodity. And of course the Dog demon would have to pull out something ridiculous just so he could talk back to his partner. Little did he know that Astra was connected to Noheme and her speed would always be greater than the girl's own. Which in this case meant a lot of speed. But they were indeed grounded, that much was true. As magical as the summoned mount was, it did not have any wings at all, nor a really useful ability to run on air like the moon goddess had. It was a simple creature with a small saddle on it, capable of getting it's owner from point A to point B and that was it.

But it was enough, at least for their current goal. It would take a little bit, but they arrived at the battlefield eventually. And what a sight it was! Thousands of men, standing in a square formations and ready to receive orders from their respective leaders. Their eyes were filled with determination, showing that they were in fact prepared to throw their lives away if it meant obtaining victory. Something like that always kinda killed the moon for the venomous goddess. Even if she wanted to be victorious, there was really no point in dying because of it. Because if she was dead afterwards, how could she possibly enjoy it. So being her usual self, she applied that logic to everything and everyone else too. Unfortunately for her, there was not exactly much time to be thinking like that, as the soldiers were quick to spot the figure that suddenly entered the visible frame that their eyes projected into the brain. This was probably as far as Astra could really go. Even with their speed, there was a solid chance someone would manage to get an attack or two in before they would penetrate through the masses and get to the leader. Something like that was naturally a big no-no, as the goddess wished no harm to her servants, just like she stated before to her partner. Sliding to the side, her bare feet would feel the moist grass once more as the mount disappeared into a black rift, only she and her slave being left in that spot. Several brave boys already started charging at them too, archers in the back getting ready to join in as well. A third sight in a very short amount of time, Noheme would quickly grab Ai and place her into princess styled carry as she jumped up, the invisible venom on the outside of her body fusing with the particles of air all around her.

And just like a magical creature she was, the goddess would start running on air at full speed, quickly closing in to the main platform where a very important men was seated. Cirven was probably around on his flying serpent as well, hopefully ready to jump down and join this tea party that was about to start. Skilfully landing on the wooden flooring that was elevated above the rest of the army, the two ladies now stood right in front of a thrown-like seat with a burly man occupying it. The body guards acted swiftly, unsheathing their weapons. But a hairy hand stopped their actions, which placed a smug expression on the goddess' face. "So you aren't stupid enough to just let your men attack. Perhaps this is really not a lost cause just yet!" She would speak up and make the man stand up. His height and presence were somewhat frightening, showing that he is not someone you should be taking lightly. Yet, there was not real hostile intend coming from him. "My name is Fang Pyjack. And you're not the enemy... is there something you need? If so, then it may have to wait for a bit. We're quite busy here, as you can surely see. A war is about to begin and we will wipe the enemy from the land of Earthland, no matter the cost." Placing her hands on her hips, the girl would strike quite a sassy pose as Ai hid behind her. Cirven has probably joined them at this point, but she was the one who continued speaking. "Right. And why exactly is this war going on? You seem like a sensible one, not someone who would lead his men into a senseless death." She had to wait few seconds before he mustered the energy to answer. "Frost Buzzard. The leader of opposing clan... he was to protect my daughter. But he failed and now she is no more! For that, he and his men must pay!"

Serenity or War?(Job w/Noheme) Empty Re: Serenity or War?(Job w/Noheme)

Post by Cirven 17th February 2017, 11:50 am

He decided not to respond to the goddess much more as Zinnath and him readied themselves to fly off. He planned to talk more to Noheme about her problems and help her out where he could. He felt he owed it to her either way with how she had helped him in the past with the battles against strong opponent's that overwhelmed him. She might not have known it herself being as she was a goddess and did not really know how the natural way things went between people but they were fairly close friends now. He wouldn't be another slave for her or follower or anything like that but he would be there when she needed him.

Both sides not giving off a word made the group take off towards one of the armies near them without anything else being said. Both the demon and the goddess knew they had to focus a bit to make sure that they did not spark up any attacks directed at themselves while traveling over groups of troops. Cirven made sure to keep his hands lifted up and opened at his sides as he flew over the troops below them to show that he did not mean any harm at all. He forced himself to use his legs to hold himself onto Zinnath as she flew through the air which was not bad at first but after some time doing it. he started to feel a bit fatigued by it. This was probably because he was not used to keeping himself held onto something with just his leg strength and made him think that he should get used to it more by training his body to be used to it. "Sorry! Making our way through! Don't attack me or anything! We are here just to talk!" He yelled out and other various variations of the same speech for others to hear before they got too trigger happy and tried to take a chunk out of Zinnath or him.

As he flew over the soon to be battlefield, he took a few minutes to look over the armor the soldiers wore. Most were clad in a purple-like armor which he figured was a sign of their allegiance to their group while others where wearing pieces of gold on their armor. He figured these were the leaders of this side of the war and based on how much gold they had on their armor was how high in command they were. He was never the type to like taking orders from people so he usually saw any type of ranking shown through items placed on a person's body as decorations for them to show they were superior through rank but probably not in skill. It was a natural thing for those who had a high rank to be birthed into the position at times and brought up with a golden spoon in their mouths so they never were truly deserving of their position. He hated those types who could not amount to anything with actual strength but had a position where they needed some type of power to really hold it. Maybe it was his want for even the weakest of people to actually be strong in something but he just did not like people who were given everything because it took away from them finding out that thing they could be great at.

He noticed that Astra with Noheme and Ai on its back was about to possibly run into some trouble with the army that he had managed to fly over and was going to fly back to help but Noheme had figured something out herself while she grabbed up Ai and skipped through the air while carrying her. All Cirven could really do was smile at the sight. The goddess had a way of showing off and not even knowing what she was doing. "Eris, try not to make the troops too jealous of what you can do! Would rather they not suddenly want to label you an enemy because you are more talented than them!" He yelled out to her which sounded like a compliment to her and a insult to the troops below him. He then went back to holding his hands up. "Like I was saying, we come in peace!" He made sure to yell out after to clarify before he was 'accidentally' shot at.

While Noheme made her way to the main platform, he continued to look around at the troops below him. He felt like if the war did break out that most of the people below him would be hurt badly or even worse than that, find their own deaths in battle. He had not been in a war before technically but he had fought with and against multiple people before who had goals and ambitions as well as loved ones that they had to fight for. He saw some of them take on pain and anguish for all those things and in some cases saw them die. War must have been like that or that was what he thought it was like. It could have possibly been worse in some way but either way, he planned to prevent it here this time. Nothing good came from people killing each other.

Cirven then made his way to the main platform where Noheme had gotten to and jumped off of Zinnath so that he could land on the platform. He would have had her land on it but because of her size that was not exactly possible without knocking multiple people off of it. The other issue with it was that it could have been extremely rude of him to do so which caused him to go with just him landed on the platform. "Make sure to not take shots at her! She is just going to be flying around the area until I call her!" He yelled out at the troops again and then put his focus on the hairy man who sat in a well decorated seat on the platform. At first, Noheme was stopped by some elite looking guardsmen that he was not too keen on fighting at all. They were in the middle of an army and any bad move could bring all of it at them from all angles. Surprisingly, the man in charge waved his hand out and the guards stopped in their possible attack. Noheme made a comment to the man that made Cirven feel a bit uncomfortable about being on the job with her because she had basically ridiculed the leader of the army they were surrounded by. "Eris, you might want to be a bit more respectful of this guy..." He leaned in close to her and spoke lightly near her ear. The man rose up from his seat and declared his name while also assuming right about the trio not being enemies of him. Cirven was going to speak out but Noheme again beat him to it and seemed to be taking the reigns of the job. He was completely fine with it and did not mind playing backseat to her with this. She might have known a way better way of resolving it than he did anyways because so far he only had the idea of stopping the fighting by simply stating that they should stop it even if they had a good reason to do so. A reason like what Fang Pyjack spoke of where his daughter was now gone because of the other leader of the opposing army. He stayed silent as he waited to see Noheme's response because he was pretty much clueless on what to say next about it all.

So Cirven did make it as well. Well, he did have the ability to just fly over everyone no problem. And while his unusual mount did probably instill fear in many hearts below them, there really wasn't any problem with how he did things. After all, they both just needed to end up on the same platform. And they did, along with the leader of this army. Good thing he was not some warmonger who would instantly have them attacked. Though the moon goddess did feel like her partner shouted something at her while she was running towards this place on air. The wind surrounding her was little too loud for her ears to hear it properly tho. And now was not exactly the time to be asking him to repeat it, the magic of it was gone anyway. What he did do, however, was remind the girl that they were here to stop the war and not make it happen even faster. Fang who stood in front of them noticed the gesture and while he did not hear the full sentence, he managed to connect the dots in his head fairly easily. As a leader, he was smart and respected for that. Even though war in itself seemed like a really stupid idea. "You needn't worry. I practice magic as well... I can feel your power clearly. Even if I had my men attack you, it would only end up in our own demise. And with you questioning why this war is going to happen at all, I'll also have to assume that magical council decided to not remain silent in this matter. They're sticking their noses somewhere where they don't belong again! This was is personal and only those of the two clans may be present for it! You two are merely bystanders... leave now. I would hate to injury one of you on accident." His words were strange mixture of powerful presence and soothing, understanding tone.

Unfortunately for him, these two had no intention of actually leaving this place without stopping the war first. Noheme would eye the soldiers for a moment before returning her gaze to the leader, her hands now crossed and resting atop her chest. "You two are actually allies, right? Clans that help one another, care for each other. But the leader of that other clan was doing something with your daughter, who died because he failed to protect her from the dangers that lurked in the world." The man nodded. How exactly did she manage to guess all of this? Well, she was a goddess after all. And she had her very own tribe in Joya, one filled with people that worshiped her and looked to her as a leader. While Fiore was quite different from that jungle covered land, the situations were very similar. And in a sense, the moon goddess had no problems inserting herself into the man's position, for she held similar one back home. It took her a minute before she spoke once more. "What if your daughter was killed by a third party that knew of this whole thing? Maybe they wanted your clans to slaughter one another, enter afterwards and obtain treasures from you both! Have you ever thought about that?" As the words escaped from her mouth, Fang seated himself once more and slammed his first into the armrest of his chair, nearly shattering it completely after he heard it all. "Of course I did! But it does not matter! My daughter is dead... and she will remain like that for all eternity... Frost has to pay for failing his task of protecting her!" Things were getting slightly heated and even the bodyguards took a step back when they heard the crash and the man's fist.

Yet, Noheme appeared completely unfazed by at all. In fact, she took several steps forward, getting closer to Fang as her piercing gaze did not move an inch from his face. "What about your men? Will you truly lead them to their deaths because of this? Because of one person?! Can you really sacrifice so many just to punish one?" It looked like the words managed to hurt the leader of Pyjack clan, as he looked away with shame. He probably did not want this either. But in the heat of the moment, he made a rash decision to declare a war. Things worked like that, even outside of Earthland. Astral World was not desolate place, it was filled with life that Noheme created alongside the world itself. And conflict would spark up there too from time to time. And as the only goddess of that world, the fox was always the judge. So yes, she saw many situations similar to this with her own eyes. And she had at least some experience with them too. They both sighed. "I only want my daughter back... she was the only family I had! Even my wife left me tragically... when she lost her life to a wild beast. And I... I..." It almost looked like he would cry. Something that you would not usually see with someone of his looks, figure and position. But even kings and queens were nothing more than mortals in this land. They were allowed to have emotions as well. The girl tried to say more, this time words of comfort. But she could not, as a sudden surge of enormous magical energy started pressing down on the entire area. Even the likes of Noheme and Cirven were affected by this quite heavily. Something extremely powerful just appeared. And it did not take long... an explosion occurred in the middle of one of the formations.

"What is going on?!" Fang yelled quite loudly as he tried to stand up from his makeshift throne. But instead, he only fell to his knees below the pressure. And the moon goddess had equally aggressive reaction as she turned towards the explosion of pink magical energy. "Lilith!" Utterly that name alone, she jumped off the platform and started running towards the spot rather recklessly. It was clear that she was in her rage mode again, not thinking quite as effectively as she was up until now. And if the dog demon followed, he would soon see why. A man in a fancy dress was standing in the center of charred ground, bodies all around him, laying on the ground. They appeared dead at first, but upon closer inspection, everyone was still alive. Holding a black umbrella in one hand and using it as cane, the man would bow towards the goddess with an uncanny smile on his face. "I welcome you, my daughter. I see you're doing just fine! How splendid! Did you miss m-" Instead of finishing, he moved the umbrella up to block an incoming attack from the moon goddess, as she charged forward with her claws coated in deadly venom. But she was stopped so easily that you would think there was no force behind her attack at all. "Now, now! Is this really how you greet your parent? Such a bad child you are... and here I thought that magic would maybe knock some more sense into your head." But even as he spoke those words, that strange smile would not disappear from his face. He attacked an army, even faced two powerful mages now. But he was completely calm despite it all. As Noheme slowly backed away, he would bow once more, this time to Cirven.

Post by Cirven 18th February 2017, 10:31 am

He stood just behind the goddess as she spoke to Fang about his decision for war. It would have been completely justified with most people but at the same time war would have only brought more deaths to accompany Fang's daughter in death. He would have done the same thing probably if someone had killed someone close to him again but he would have gone about it in a way where it was only him going to fight while anyone else would not be brought to help by him at all. It would be his problem after all and no one deserved to be hurt because of it. The other issue was could he really kill someone for possibly accidentally leading someone else to their death? He really could not. It would end in a lot of people hurt and unconscious on the ground but he would only be hurting them in order to try and fill the void that was inside himself. This again would be no way of solving a situation and would only cause more issues for everyone involved.

The situation did remind him of his revenge against his mother and Cor Torva when his sister was killed by them. He was completely driven by anger and remorse for what happened to her so much so that his mind naturally forced out the fact that he had killed her himself in a demonic rage triggered by his own uncle, Nestler. None of that mattered at the time and he would only want every Cor Torva member rid from the world and Cor Torva itself stripped away. He managed to do that too as he fought clones of himself and his sister that Cor Torva had made which seemed to only be there to mock him. The clones had their own personalities but he could not help but see them as abominations and was forced to kill them as they each were controlled by Cor Torva like puppets so even though they had their own personalities, it could switch at any time to something more vicious and lead to many people being in danger. This only caused the then half demon to grow angrier towards Cor Torva because he was forced to kill a crazed version of his sister over and over who at first only wanted to live a life where they could be free.

It all ended when Cirven was able to finally confront his mother at the headquarters of Cor Torva and fight her. Before the fight, Cirven would get help with throwing away his humanity in order to get stronger in the fight against his mother. The two fought in a short fight that Cirven was not expecting at all as his mother was stronger than him but somehow was not keeping up with what he was doing which lead to her being run through by one of Cirven's attacks. She died with a smile on her face and reached her hand out to touch her only son where it hit Cirven that something was not right. He found that his mother had only been trying to protect him from her own organization for so long and it had gotten to a point where only her death could tame it to a point where they would be scattered in their efforts further leading Cirven to believe that war-like circumstances would only bring on more pain and death like an endless cycle of torment.

So because of this Cirven knew where Fang stood in his attempt to quell his pain but he knew that it would not get him anywhere at all. It would only lead to him being put into worse situations over and over where he would only be left to regret more and more of what he was doing. "The lost lives a war would bring about would not cause her to come back, even as much as you would like it to. This situation will only bring on more pain for all those involved and could lead to worse things. The pain will always be there but you must end this war before it scars more lives in the pain you are suffering through." Cirven finally spoke up as he was able to form some thought as to how this war could be explained as meaningless. "You trusted this Frost guy before, right? Seeing how this war sparked up the way it did, it sounds like you had not spoken to him civilly about what happened. He probably tried to save her but failed and is in just as much pain as you are now." Before Cirven could continue speaking a explosion of magical power erupted from an area inside of the army troops, leaving a lone man standing in its wake with an umbrella in his hands. "Fang! Do not do anything to bring about this war here! We will deal with this man." Cirven dashed away from the platform to confront the man who was wearing a dress suit and grinning. He knew Fang would not consider this an act of war on him because the new entree into the situation was not wearing anything to signal which side he was on meaning he was another bystander that had just gotten ahead of himself.

Cirven heard Noheme call out the name Lilith as she moved quickly to confront the man. Cirven took that as she knew him but with how she was acting it did not mean they were friends in any sort of way. This Lilith seemed to talk like he was some sort of parent to Noheme which Cirven only heard just as he was able to get to him where Noheme's attack was blocked by his umbrella. Cirven thinking smart did not pay attention to the bow directed at him and tried to attack Lilith with a electric claw swiping across Lilith's body but found his attack was quickly blocked by the umbrella too. Surprised by how a simple umbrella prevented his attack, Cirven jumped back to create distance between them. "So Eris, who is this guy with the grin that looks like he had just inherited all of what he would ever need in his life? It is sort of pissing me off looking at him and his scent is... Different.. Like he is some sort of entity and not a person..?" The new enemy had a very unique scent that Cirven had not come in contact with before. "I really want to rip that grin off of his face after what he has already done in his short time here. Wait.. Is he the one that cursed you?!" Cirven's mind had just caught up with the words he had heard Lilith speak as he was charging at him. Cirven cracked his knuckles and grinned back at Lilith. "Good. This just means that I can repay you finally for all the help you have given me. We will beat this guy down until he begs to take that curse off of you." Black electricity erupted over Cirven's body in a show of excitement from him. "This guy seems like he could be a fun fight too with keeping up with us." Cirven looked around at the troops around them. "You guys might want to get the injured out of here. I don't want to get anyone else involved in our fight here." He spoke to the troops near them that were still conscious and they listened by carrying their companions a safe distance away.

Post by Noheme 18th February 2017, 11:40 am

The mysterious man simply stood there and watched it all unfold with that grin of his. His movements were fluid like water, his umbrella indeed blocking Cirven's attack as if it was nothing more than a child's wooden sword. And his unchanging expression was only further mockery of their efforts so far. And only Noheme knew that nothing would change, ever with what her partner said. It pained her, but she had to hold it all in, not act rashly as she just did. Lowering her head slightly, the green hair covered her eyes and made her face appear slightly darker as she started thinking. What should they do? There was simply no hope in fighting this man, as something like that was just impossible for them. But what else was there to do? Would he allow them to just talk it off? She could never really read him, know what he was thinking. And he was random enough to allow something like that! Or perhaps they should just run... forget about this job and get as far away as they possibly could. No, something like that would most likely never work. There was a reason why he was here, and the moon goddess was that reason for sure. There was absolutely no point in running at all, for her would follow them anywhere, no matter how fast or how far they would go. All of this was quite funny, actually. Lilith was the only being in existence that could make the fox girl think this way. For she knew his power. No, actually. She wasn't even aware of just how powerful he was. But she knew that they would never stand a chance against him. He held that much power. It was obvious, really. After all, he gave her life and even the power to create a whole new dimension and all the life inside of it. That kind of power, you could never achieve on your own.

Biting her lower lip to the point where blood started pouring out, she would look back at Cirven with expression that could only be described as distraught. "Yes. He is the one who cursed me, the one who gave me life and enough power to form an entire world from absolutely nothing at all. But you have to stay away, we don't stand a chance!" Lilith stretched his smile even more as he heard those words. "You mortal creatures are always so negative, I can never understand. A gift of that power, yet you call it curse, how disappointed do you think I am after hearing my own daughter say that, Noheme? Ah, my apologies. I forget you go under the name 'Eris' in this world. Yet another ridiculous play of yours." For a moment, he would move his umbrella and hold it against his body with one of his arms as he started slowly removing a black leather glove he was wearing on his left hand. "Normally, I would punish you right away for saying something so cruel. But that is not why I am here. It might be hard to believe for a crude barbar such as yourself, Cirven Mizune, but I am here to discuss much more civil matters. So to make sure we will stay civil, let me perform a little trick. Rhabdophobia!" Just as he said the name, the entire world became completely colorless. And in few seconds, darkness consumed them all. Everything was pitch black for what seemed like an eternity. But eventually, the darkness would fade, and the two mages would find themselves back at the elevated wooden platform, along with Fang who was sitting in his seat. All the bodyguards were gone, but could be quickly spotted down below the structure amidst the other soldiers.

They could also pretty quickly realize that they were incapable of using magic anymore, despite the world around them looking completely normal again. Lilith was standing there as well, his grin a bit smaller and more bearable, but still present. Ai was still here as well, confused and clearly terrified when she saw the god-like demon of a man appear there with them. She knew who he was as well. "Rhabdophobia. Fear of magic. I am sorry, for I usually do not use something so strong. But I came with a very special offer for dear sir Fang Pyjack over here today, so I have to make sure you two don't do anything rash before I'm done with it." And with that, he would turn towards the leader. Even Fang was clearly displeased with this situation, but he saw what just happened. And if he had the sense to not go against the duo that was here to help, then he clearly also knew he should not go against this strange man, dressed fully in black. So he simply continued sitting in his place, though his expression was clearly pained. "What is it that you want to offer me, of all people?" His question was rewarded with genuine laughter from Lilith who was now doing his best not to collapse to the ground. "Oh, dear mortal! Rejoice! For this is one of your happiest days! What I came to offer you... is the life of your daughter!" A deafening moment of utter silence. The hairy man would close his eyes, opening them again after few seconds, his expression unchanged. "I see that you do not believe me. Worry not, I have something to show you." Producing a small, light blue orb from one of his pockets, he would clench it tightly. And as he did, a figure formed in front of them. At that very moment, Fang's composure would melt completely. It was his daughter, her body transparent, but she was indeed standing right there. "Daddy!" She would scream out as the two quickly moved towards one another, but phased through though. "She is nothing more than an imprisoned soul still. However, that can be always fixed. However, you are not one to choose Fang. My daughter will be the one to choose. Do you want me to revive her? If I do, then I will have to take another life in return. A random one, chosen from this place. A family out there will most likely loose a child, but who knows. Maybe the random chance will fall onto someone who will not be missed at all. So, what is your answer? You could end the whole war right here." At that moment, Fang gave the girl who had no idea what to do the saddest look she has seen yet. And in utter despair, she turned to face Cirven, hoping for anything that would help her choose.

Post by Cirven 20th February 2017, 2:56 pm

"So you think we should just run away from him and just succumb to whatever will he has? I can't just let myself be that way in this situation. I did that before in the past and that only resulted in me losing someone close to me more than once. I won't step down just because he is stronger." He spoke to his partner showing that he was completely against her pleas to stay away from the man dressed in black. He could not help but say the word 'stronger' in a tone that showed he did not believe what she had said which was true. He had a belief that he wanted to get through to her but before he could speak any more the man spoke out calling him a 'crude barbar' as well as scolding the one he claimed to be his daughter, Noheme. Cirven was growing more annoyed by the man because he knew that no one claiming to be a parent of someone who treat them in such a way. They would try to help them and protect them from the world as best they can but not give them a 'gift' that was slowly killing them and be the reason for most of the turmoil in their life. He knew a thing or two about a parent causing all the negative things in someone's life and fought through it just to find out that it was somehow the opposite. He clenched his fist and was about to attack again when Lilith finished his sentence not caring about the fact the man had come being civil but he stopped as the world around them warped into nothingness and then darkness. All he could do was look around at what was around them as the spell was cast and then brought them suddenly to where they were only minutes before in front of Fang and his guards.

"Is that what blacking out feels like? Let's hope I never get that drunk ever..." He spoke out loud his own thoughts but did not care who really took any sort of offense to it. The situation might have been a serious one but Cirven was still himself through it all somehow. Lilith continued to speak claiming he came with an offer to Fang. Cirven tried to call on his magic but could not feel anything at all when he tried. He tried to do it again but could not bring up any power from his body. This confused him at first but he put it all together when he thought about what Noheme had been saying about her 'father' all this time. He was stronger than them both and they probably did not stand a chance but that did not mean that they shouldn't fight back somehow. He stayed silent as he tried to come up with something they could do as Lilith spoke to Fang about his offer to him. The spirit-like form of a woman was brought into the world by Lilith and called out to her father, Fang. Both of them tried to embrace each other but only ended in them both finding out that she was not tangible at all. Cirven watched but was still trying to think of a way to fight someone who could actually warp reality to their liking.

Then everything turned onto Noheme when Lilith put all of the pressure on her for what should happen with the girl's life. Should she be brought back and cause another random life to disappear from this world or should she be left dead and they find another way to prevent the war. Fang gave her a sorrowful expression and then she looked towards Cirven as if his words would help guide her. "I don't like this whole thing at all. Yeah, we can bring back a life and possibly prevent a war but we had already gotten Fang to consider ending it before you showed up. It is almost like you planned to show up and play God just to shake things up like some sadistic puppeteer." Cirven put his glare onto Lilith who still did not drop his grin. "You might have said mortals are so negative but you are causing the negative here and now by even offering this option. The lives of hundreds and thousands do not make up for the life of one but that does not mean the life of one person does not make up for another one's life either. So if it were up to me I'd say screw your option and we will find our own way to handle this. You are only here to give us more problems than we already have."

He looked towards Noheme. "Thing is, it is not my choice from what you said. It is hers and with what I just said, I spoke my side of things. Maybe it's because of that crappy grin pasted onto your face at all times or something but I cannot trust anything you are offering us at all and I really want to rip that grin off of your face..." He stared into Lilith's eye's at the end of his sentence showing how he felt about the man completely. It was funny because that was all he felt he could do was constantly talk down to the man to rile him up so that he maybe slipped up in doing something and gave an opening or something. The idea had holes all over it but he would try to do something rather than doing nothing and waiting to be a sort of play thing for some guy who didn't even know how to be an actual parent. He was just some piece of crap playing with the lives of others for his own pleasure.

Cirven managed to keep himself composed so that he was not fueled by his emotions and could react if the opportunity presented itself. He knew Lilith was stronger but he would take the opportunity to strike an open spot if he could and try to get them out of the situation they were in.

Serenity or War?(Job w/Noheme) Empty Re: Serenity or War?(Job w/Noheme)

Post by Noheme 22nd February 2017, 9:52 am

Cirven spoke out brave words, just how his nature dictated. It would be pretty stupid to expect anything else at this point. Noheme knew him very well, even capable of how he would predict in certain moments. But he was not helping their situation by thinking they could fight the man in front of them. It was good to have a challenge from time to time, and they did fight together opponents much stronger than they were by themselves. But right now? They were facing someone who surpassed all their enemies so far by a lot. So much that even the unshakable goddess was not slightly shaking. And he did not even wait too long to demonstrate his power by casting a spell that was capable of altering the entire reality they were in. And as the world came to be again, everything was changed. For both the moon goddess and dog demon were completely powerless. While they still had plenty of physical strength, what could could that do against someone who was capable of blocking normal spells with such ease as he demonstrated before? It was a hopeless situation where they had to listen to their enemy and do what he wanted them to do. Even if that against every sense and instinct that the venomous goddess had, it was required of her as soon as the choice shifted from Fang to her. The burden of deciding if one should live or not, someone she had never met and will most likely never know. Someone completely unrelated to her story and being. He did it on purpose this way, for it was more than easy to sacrifice someone you knew nothing about, someone you were not involved with in the slightest. And as she look over to her partner, he spoke his mind.

And his spoke for a while, giving her every single bit of his thoughts. Even Lilith simply stood there, listening as his expression did not shift in the slightest. In fact, it looked almost as if it grew happier with every word he heard. "Oh mean of you, Cirven Mizune. I may appear cruel, but I do keep my word always. There is absolutely no trick in this and every single rule was explained. If you say no, I will crush the soul gem I brought and forever make the little girl disappear. She will continue on into the cruel and endless Abyss of afterlife, her soul tormented by the fact that she will never be able to spend more time with her father. However, if you say yes, I will return her to life. But at the cost of another's life, a random living being that is currently present in this place. They will perish and continue on to the afterlife instead of her." As he spoke, he gestured with his hands to add to his body language, clearly demonstrating everything that he talked about. Looking at him like this, he truly did appear like some fancy salesman who was describing a new piece of technology to someone who was a possible buyer. "I suppose you may not believe me even after I said all that. Perhaps revealing my true colors would help you in that matter?" Words that suddenly caught attention of Noheme and Ai as well. Coughing out for a moment, Lilith's grin would grow even wider as he bowed in front of them all. "I am called Lilith by my daughter, though another calls me The Observer. I am what you mortals would call a Miracle Demon. I am not the only one of our kind, there are many. We are beings that move through realities and worlds. Currently, I am the only one of my kind to be present in Earthland, though there was one more not that far back."

It was quite odd that he was telling such a tale. But still, the goddess and her spirit decided to wait and listen. After all, even she herself knew nothing of this parent of hers, even after all that he did to her. And the talk about another Miracle Demon being in Earthland not all that long ago, she got a pretty solid idea as to why he was present as well. "As you can tell from the name, we have power to even cause miracles, something that would not be possible normally. That is how I was able to disable your magical powers completely and how I can bring even the dead ones back to life. And just like you mortals, we require sustenance in order to keep on going. But every single one of us is different. I, for one, require to eat someone's name once in a while. Lilith, the eater of names is what you could call me. But let's not go too deep down that hole for now, for I am generous today and do not want to eat anyone's name just yet. So now that you know who and what I am, do you still not believe me?" He never stopped smiling, not even for a moment. But at least his story explained how he was so strong. How he managed to give Noheme her god slaying abilities and power to create the Astral World. They were all literal miracles that defied laws and logic. "However, now that I'm replying your words in my head... are you saying no to my offer?" Perhaps in the interest of speeding things little bit, the eater of names played on Cirven's words. And as he said so, the girl's ghost started slowly fading away as she appeared to be in incredible pain, falling to the ground. This caused Fang, who was listening until now as well, to grow more serious, turning his strong and sharp gaze towards the moon goddess.

"I beg you, accept his offer! Both me and all of my men are ready to sacrifice ourselves for the girl! She is the future of our clan that slipped away, but now we can have it back. And we are all willing to give our lives to bring her back. This is our desire, please, accept it!" And along with his words, cheering came from behind  their backs. The entire army agreed with the man, for this was was meant to happen because of this in the first place. Everyone in the clan was united and they were all indeed ready for the sacrifice. Clenching her teeth together, grinding the white against white, Noheme's expression grew into one of anger. "Fine! I accept your damn offer!" It was Fang's decision, what he wanted after all. Even if Cirven was against it, the thousands of voices on the battlefield were just way too strong. Yet it was one of the greatest mistakes ever. For the name eater's umbrella was now pointing straight at the moon goddess as a swift ray of pink light shot out. It was way too fast for anyone to even properly see, much less dodge. But the attack was not directed at the goddess herself, Rather, it was someone behind her. With terror, the girl turned to see something that made her eyes turn crimson red. Ai Eden, the Astral Spirit and her lover was slowly falling to the ground, hole in her chest where one's heart would normally be, her eyes devoid of reflection and only blank, blurred stare forward. And her master could only fall to the ground, quickly crawling atop her body and trying to shake her in futile attempts to wake her from this eternal slumber that came faster than anyone would anticipate. In the same moment, the little girl's spirit would disappear, only for a coffin to form in her place. Just as he promised, the eater of names revived Fang's daughter.

But it was at the price of someone's life, just like he said. Only, this life was unexpected. Tears poured down Noheme's face, her shaking voice begging Ai to move and smile again. But nothing like that would happen. Only the eater of names now stood behind her, the grin he was wearing this whole time finally gone and replaced by a neutral poker face. "I gave you everything and I can take away everything. Tis' the way of life, dear. And one more thing... I would not recommend being so close to that body with your magic." Suddenly, the fox girl's hand became purple, venom pouring down her skin and clothes. And the moment it all touched Ai's body, the poor lifeless spirit started melting and decomposing instantly. It was a gruesome sight to say the least as the flesh soon started rotting and slowly disappearing. In pure shock, the goddess' face would grow completely dark. She thought that she managed to gain control over her powers, but the clear answer was now laying in front of her. And with pure wrath filling her, she would turn around and form a pitch-black blade in her hand. Rhabdophobia was shattered, as even the eater of names broke it's rules and used his magic. But it was all futile, as his figure no longer stood there. Instead, he was behind Noheme once more, as the fox girl's figure slowly fell to the ground as well blood splattering over the wooden platform they were on. Her left pink was completely cut off, as well as considerate portion of her ring finger. "But worry not. I'll be nice just this once." From his pocket he would produce a small, green ball that looked like lacrima, but slightly different. "Bring it to the gardens and you'll be pleasantly surprised." And just like that, his body completely vanished without a trace, the small orb falling to the ground.

Serenity or War?(Job w/Noheme) Empty Re: Serenity or War?(Job w/Noheme)

Post by Cirven 24th February 2017, 12:10 am

The dog demon was completely against anything the grinning man offered them. He seemed to only want to toy with them somehow and he did not mask it well at all. Even if he said he was not that to toy with them, his grin said differently. Cirven felt like there was some sort of ulterior motive that Lilith had planned here just like some of the others he had dealt with in the past were like. It was like they all were just trying to toy with the lives around them just to get some sort of kick out of it. Cirven could barely control himself from attacking Lilith somehow even though he could not produce any magic power at all. He knew he could change into his stronger demonic form but he already could tell that it would not be enough to really defeat someone like Lilith, at least not now.

Lilith spoke out acting as though Cirven had no reason at all to see him as a sort of villain in this situation at all and it irked Cirven even more so because the entire time Lilith spoke his grin was still on his face. It was such an distrusting look for him to have while trying to make a plea that he was not a bad guy at all. This then lead to Lilith explaining that he was a unique being called a Miracle Demon that could cause miracles to happen which was why everything that had happened was brought about. Cirven did not care much for the man's explanation at all and showed it by how he looked back at him with a serious look. "It doesn't matter what you are or who you are because that grin gives me a feeling that I should not trust you at all. It also just makes me want to hit you with the nearest object I can find or use just to rearrange your grin a bit. Just stating facts and how I feel because I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one." He then gave off a smile towards the Miracle Demon also where he mimicked him a bit. "You replayed my words in your head right. I would not take up your offer because even though you tried to sugarcoat your words, you are not someone who I feel I can trust in any sort of way and you more look like someone I'd fight against. I tend to follow my gut on things like this but you did not ask me. You asked Noheme about what she wanted to do so my view is pretty irrelevant, right?"

It was only seconds after Cirven spoke that Lilith had used his control over the little girl's ghost and started to cause it to fade while somehow giving the intangible girl some sort of pain. Cirven did not break his gaze on Lilith and did not flinch. He was not going to be a puppet to be controlled by the Eater of Names somehow and instead was going to stand as strong as he could and stare down the stronger being. Fang was different though and completely caved in as he pleaded with Noheme to bring his daughter back in order to build up their own clan and keep it alive. A selfish act that could possibly lead to a even greater death just because of their greed. Cirven was about to speak out and tell everyone about how selfish their clan was being especially when the life that could be taken could be even greater than the one lost but Noheme quickly accepted the offer to his dismay. Cirven broke his gaze from Lilith and stared at Noheme with wide eyes as he could not believe she had given in to Lilith and as he did so the blast that would curve around her was fired and hit Ai.

He had not time to really react as Ai was hit and killed instantly from the attack that had shot through her. He stood staring at the scene of Ai falling to the ground and watched as Noheme fell to the ground to try and help her slave and lover back to life, only to end in failure. He then rushed towards where Lilith was standing near Noheme now and attempted to attack him but in an instant he had disappeared from where he was and reappeared behind Noheme which only left Cirven staring at his partner as she suffered an attack from the Miracle Demon. "You...!" Black electricity erupted out over Cirven's body as he cursed the man who had caused all of the pain in the situation and then just vanished saying that he would be nice this once. All Cirven could do was let his anger run wild as he could not stop either of the attacks that were used and did not have enough power to even hurt the grin-filled man. All he could do was watch as everything uncoiled in front of him and speak out when he felt his word could have impact, which in the end they did not. He took some steps and stood near his partner who had just been attacked by her 'father'.

"I'm sorry, Noheme. I was not strong enough..." He did not know what to say to her and looked towards the damaged body of someone he considered a good friend, Ai. He could barely believe she was gone and the black electricity continued to rage around him which he quickly gained control over before it got any worse and hurt those around him. "He might be stronger but he will pay for this somehow. I just hope we get to see that grin fade away from his face when it happens." He spoke to her as he reluctantly looked towards Ai's corpse. "Are you okay? Did he hurt you badly?" He tried to look at his partner's new wounds to make sure she was not hurt any worse than it looked. It might have annoyed her because he was getting close to her to makre sure she was fine but he felt he needed to do it. "He didn't curse you again or anything, right?"

Yes, Cirven was right. He was correct to not trust a being that was immortal and held enough power to make miracles happen. However, the choice was not his to make. And in the end, the goddess broke and succumbed to the crowd that wished for her to make a choice. She was still new to this world and lived in a paradise up until now, even if she had to deal with that man from time to time. But other that that, it truly was a perfect realm where problems would never arise. And because she was accustomed to such a leisurely life, it was rather easy for her to cave in under the pressure that the crowd placed on her. And perhaps that was exactly what the Eater of Names wanted. Because he knew how his 'daughter' lived and how she would react to all this. In a sense, she was nothing more than a small child that have yet to learn many things. It was quite easy to take advantage of that, despite her power and otherwise pretty good nature. And now, she was lying there on the floor, trying to pick herself up. Yet, it felt almost impossible. Her whole body was shaking after what just happened, her hands unable to support the rest of her as she tried to get up. So instead, she just lied there for a little bit more. And she heard nothing but cheering. When Lilith attacked Ai Eden, the whole army grew silent. But only moments later, the manifested coffin would open, and from it, a girl woke up. Daughter of Fang, good as new. Exactly like the strange man promised. He indeed state the rules rather clear. One single life, and the child returned to life as was agreed. And that was all that really mattered to the clan. Because now, the war no longer had to happen. Everything could be easily forgiven and the meager cost of a stranger's life.

It really was easy to condemn those that you knew nothing about, wasn't it. As Fang hugged his only daughter and remaining family, Ai's corpse was nothing more than a pile of purple ash, dissolved by the uncontrollable venom, curse given to the goddess by her 'father'. The world felt... over. But she also heard another voice, one that was directed at her figure. One that she knew very well. Her dear teammate who was standing over her motionless body. She heard every single word he spoke, but she felt too tired to actually reply. It took her at least few minutes before she attempted to get up again, shifting her body into a sitting position as she looked over her left hand. Somehow, Cirven managed to ask the correct question. "He didn't curse you again or anything, right?" He actually did. "The curse of everlasting pain." Her voice was devoid of energy and joy, sounding dull and sorrowful. But something like that was only natural, as she just lost a loved one. A spirit that was probably more important to her than her very own life. And yet, it was not the only price she paid. With her abilities, the moon goddess obtain incredible self-healing abilities. But no matter how much time passed, her fingers were not being restored. While the wound looked rather small compared to what these two went through in the past, it was different today. Even when she tried to use her venom that could replace her whole limbs when needed, nothing at all happened. Her left pinky was completely gone forever. Mostly of her left ring finger was gone forever. It would be rather hard to put any rings on it now, but that was hardly what the girl would be thinking about. Her gaze was directed elsewhere, staring at the small green orb that was left behind.

It was dropped by Lilith when he left, mentioning that he was not that mean. It was a 'gift' for her. Crawling over on all four, she picked it up and her expression instantly grew much darker than it was before. So that was how he felt. "Mere puppets, no matter how hard we try, huh? No matter how hard we try to escape..." Somehow, just from looking at it and feeling the magical energy that radiated from this item, Noheme knew exactly what it was. And just as he said, she had to visit a different world, one named Gardens of Eden in order to activate it. Feeling a new source of energy, the fox girl would finally get up on her own two feet and look into the distance. The crowd was still cheering, now more than before. Fang was warmly embracing her daughter and soldiers saw the goddess, as well as the Eater of Names as heroes for bringing about a new era of peace between the two clans. But she cared not. "It's your job... yours to finish. Cornix will remain by your side if you ever need me." Saying those simple words, something started forming next to the elevated platform they stood on. A dragon made out of venoms and poisons, a titanic beast of the girl's corrosive magic. Without any more words, she would jump onto it's back and give her partner one last look. It was much darker than any she ever gave him, yet not filled with any ill intend. It was a different kind of darkness, one that consumed men and drove them insane. And just like that, the creature would start flapping it's enormous wings, taking off into the air and carrying it's master far, far away from the Serene cliffs. For they were no longer serene to her in the slightest. They were but a cruel reminder of a loss that would haunt her for all eternity.

Cirven could only watch his partner as she was affected by the whole scene. The crowd of people that made up the troops cheered out in happiness while she laid on the ground lost in her own despair. The type of despair that Cirven himself had been through before with the countless deaths throughout his life. He wanted to reach out and hug her but thought twice about it because of what her magic had just done to Ai's body which was now dissolved into a purple mush on the floor near them. A feeling of dread mixed with pure anger burned inside of him from the sight. Ai might not have been super close to him but he felt that she was a friend and as much part of the team Noheme and him made up as both the goddess and him.

Noheme raised herself up and looked at what was left of Ai's body and answered his question about how she was by saying she was cursed with everlasting pain. It was a similar feeling that he felt he was living through but he had no way of telling her how she could deal with it. All he could do was comfort her by helping her ease that pain. "Pain like this never gets old, does it?" He clutched his chest over his heart with his right hand as he felt like something in there was hurting. "It's that same feeling again.."

Black electricity erupted out again around him and danced around his body from the anger that raged inside of him. "Ai..." He tried to calm himself but the anger from seeing his friend's body in such a way and knowing that she was gone now was now a new addition to the others that haunted him over and over. "We will make him pay... We will wipe that grin off of his face and replace it with a face fill of pain.." He spoke out under his breathe. He figured that the enhanced hearing the fox goddess had would pick up his voice but he did not get a reply to what he said. His partner instead stood up and made her own exit through her poison dragon that she could create. The look on her face and her words showed her perspective on the entire situation. She wanted to leave and get away from this world. From the despair it brought to its people. From the pain that it brought her over and over again. He did not think about it until now but every time he was around her she found some sort of way to be affected negatively by their world. It was as if she had just as bad of luck as he had with doing some things. It could only go so well for so long until it suddenly went spiraling down into an abyss of pain.

He could not help but hold his tongue as she left. He did not know what to say to her leaving at all and even if he could find the words she probably would not have listened to him at all. The crowd of troops cheered out to her as she left. Cornix flew to him and Cirven accepted the bird but letting it land on his shoulder. They yelled out cries of her being a hero but all she did was leave like she was deaf to them. She might have been labeled a hero by them but the cost was too high for her to be labeled as such to them. Something that they probably did not understand at all because of their happiness from their clan's successor being brought back from the dead.

"Excuse me, sir?" Fang spoke out with his daughter by his side causing Cirven to calm himself and stop the black electricity from raging off and around his body. He brought his gaze to Fang. "We owe your friend a lot for saving my daughter. Why did she leave? She is our savior and should be treated as such." Cirven gazed at Fang and sighed. "She is a savior to you but to herself she is a lost and searching for some sort of solitude that can provide protection from the pain. Kind of funny how those who suffers the greatest tragedies are the ones who will sacrifice everything for others..." He spoke out with his last sentence being spoke out lighter than the first. Fang looked at Cirven confused. "Either way, this job is over now, right? No war so I'm not needed here anymore. Take care of your daughter." Cirven gave the man no time to talk and whistled out causing Zinnath who was flying around above them to swoop down at him. He jumped into the air where he landed on her and flew off into the air. He planned on getting his pay from the Magic Council and then returning to the lair of Black Sails where he planned to train around the island again to get his mind and body into better shape. He had to get stronger or else more lives would be lost.
