He who had fashioned the cloth was a man of immense power, who had secretively gone behind the back of the king to place his magic within the cloak. This man was as fearful as the cloak itself, and placing his magic inside of the cloak allowed for a piece of him to be kept nearer to the king. Perhaps it was his way of trying to overthrow Aksel, but was instead permanently locked away in the depths of the Shikar castle. The cloak remained in its confines for centuries until one day, a little girl stumbled across the room that it was locked within. She heard the sweet calls the cloak emitted yearning for her and as curious of a child as she was, she had opened the door. Opening this room's door allowed for the magic of the cloak to overwhelm her and broke free of its confines to claim its first victim. Once this cloak claimed its master, it would never leave the shoulders of who that was unless the wearer took it off themselves.
As long as it is bid by the wearer, the cloak can be bore by others, but they will pay the price of wearing such a sinful piece of cloth. Placing this cloak on their shoulders, they will begin to hear soft whispers, near inaudible when they first start. The longer they wear the cloak, the louder the voices become to them until they are clear in what they are saying to the wearer. It is a dastardly piece of cloth and as such, these voices the wearer hears often tells and encourages them of all the bad things they could do. They are manipulative and silver tongued voices that could easily make even the strongest of magi succumb to their will. Soon, the voices will become one with the wearer, just another aspect of the wearer's personality until the cloak is removed. But in some cases, these voices have the power to kill with just their words, forcing the new wearer to go on suicide missions or simply driving them to insanity.
Strengths:
- The cloak is made of fine material that makes it not only beautiful to look at, but extremely durable against attacks
- It may appear thin, but the cloak is made of a material that is extremely thick, allowing for the wearer to be warm in even the harshest of winters
- Vice versa, the cloak is also able to be worn in the hottest of summers, keeping the wearer cool during these times
Weaknesses:
- While hardier than other types of cloaks, this cloak is still able to be shredded, torn, or ripped if caught on things
- It's a bright red in color, which is typically a color that pops out against things, making the wearer a "sore thumb"
- The cloak is rather long and can get in the way of effectively moving around, tripping people around the wearer or the wearer themselves
- Once the cloak is taken off, the wearer is no longer able to access the abilities until they put the cloak back on
Abilities:
- Haunting of Shadows (S-rank): Despite being made from the finest of cloth, this cloak is not all about fashion and glory; no, it's able to do a lot more than that. Wearing this cloak allows the wearer to phase through solid things as if the object was immaterial from the start. Things such as walls, furniture, and natural structures are all things that the wearer is able to simply pass through when they wish. When it comes down to it, the cloak is even able to allow the user to pass through a single spell of their choosing per eight [8] posts. In this state, even physical attacks will pass through them, leaving them untouched and unharmed by the damage done by them. If the wearer is not in combat (meaning that they aren't physically fighting), then this ability is permanently activated until otherwise. Generally speaking, this ability is more of a noncombat ability, a special effect of the cloak that gives the wearer a more ghastly and ghostly feel.
- Phantom Form (A-rank): This cloak is able to materialize and immaterialize at the will of the wearer, giving them the ability to travel to any time and place they wish. When this is done, the cloak will begin to slowly fade from view, forming into a blob of wispy, red flecks of an unknown substance. It will begin to get thinner and thinner until all that's left is a trail of wisp that, too, will soon disappear and leave nothing behind. While in combat, this allows the wearer to travel up to ninety (90) meters from where they last stood in order to dodge a spell of their choosing. However, once they successfully dodge a spell, it is then placed on cooldown for five (5) posts and cannot be used again until the cooldown is over. Out of combat (meaning the person is not physically fighting another), this ability is permanently activated and works at the will of the wearer. Nor does it matter if the wearer has been to the place or not, as long as they know the name of the place, they are able to travel to it.
