Nova watched Alexander Easton yawn and stretch from just up the street, the tall blond practically shining in the morning light. No matter the picture-perfect smile on his face, as Nova knew from their meeting was a staple of his, the mage had to be bored to be stuck with an antisocial shut-in eleven years his junior. Why was he here again? Nova could have handled this job just fine on their own, and the prestige would have been greater. But, doing everything alone is far more isolating, and six-foot-something Alexander made up for the muscle Nova lacked. Plus, he probably wasn’t enjoying himself either, which was surprisingly a comforting thought. Their task was housekeeping, and according to the job notes, the two of them would have their hands full with all the different tasks involved with this large, run-down house.
Pushing themselves into the semi-social situation, the wiry made made their way towards their guildmate, acknowledged them with a curt nod and a wave of their marked wrist, and opened the gate, intending to survey the damage.

The blond man called out to them, but Nova wasn't interested in the chit-chat, so they just nodded and entered into the house. Unfortunately, Alexander was misinformed about the specifics of the job. Typical. The homeowners were away already, leaving the two mages to fend for themselves in the unfamiliar and rundown house. The smaller mage just sighed and kept walking into the house, finding a note on the front door:

The keys are under the mat, beware of the dog, fix everything, thank you!"

fishing the key from beneath the welcome mat, Nova shuddered at what horrors awaited them within the house. Would the floors be sticky with mold, would the smell burn their skin and rest on the pair for days, would they find evidence of criminal activity, would this house be something darker than a typical D-ranked job? No matter, whatever the two found inside that house couldn't match the horror of working with Alex, Nova decided.
Opening the door, everything was... normal? The ceiling of the main room was a mess, but they knew that going in. Now, it was what was the unknown that was left.
