3 Paths... a New Beginning (Closed Social)

As he trudged along, he couldn't help but to feel antsy at the fact that Oak Town had another library for him to memorize. It was a small detour before returning to Lamia Scale to see if his dad had returned in the past 2 years, but this is the last time he would check. While Lamia Scale had let him live there, fed and took care of him, the constant reminder that his dad was gone by them calling him "Marov's Boy" was too much. He would have to find his own way. But for now, books. Tons and tons of books.
He thought back to the sight of the town of Oak from a distance. It wasn't Hargeon, that was for sure. And he remembered seeing the fork in the road that was to come. The woods blocked his view of the path, but he felt like he should be coming up on it soon. The air was crips and cool. The woods were relaxing as always. A smirk broke his face. This is what he wanted life to be about. This feeling. At peace. Away from his thoughts.
Then his thoughts resurfaced at the thought of finally being at peace and the smirk vanished as quickly as it had come. He was alone. Life had taken so much from him. When would it give something back. "It will get better soon!" was just a fantasy he got sick of hearing. As he rounded the bend, he saw the fork. Finally, he was getting close. This put a spring in his stride until he heard another set of footsteps. The air seemed a bit more chilled than he was used to. And the gravity seemed off... were their... two people coming from different angles? He stopped at the fork and waited. This felt odd....

Inaris was walking rapidly away from the hotel he had spent the night in. Wrapped up in Megalos's arms, he had felt safer then than he had in a long time, but it scared him, the thought of getting close to someone. Especially that man. After all, somebody so ignorant was childish, and other children scared him with their neediness. They were so... whiny. It was too annoying how they screeched and hit to get their own way. Lost deep in his own thoughts, he didn't see the taller man until he crashed directly into him, falling to the ground in a heap of tangled limbs.

Phaje looked down at the smaller figure that had crashed into him, realizing that his innate use of gravity made it so that the kid probably felt like he walked into a brick wall.
"Are you ok? You seem to be... distracted is the word right? Sorry I am not too good at talking with people. It doesn't happen often." His eyes studied the being in front of him. He seemed to be younger than Phaje for sure, but his peculiar dress made Phaje wonder if this was another wizard. Not many people had he seen dress this erratic.

It had only been a few days after the events that lead Asura to find the blood of the god Thoth, which turned him into an immortal but the blood of the god also had one side effect that Asura hated, it transformed him into a 4'4" preteen. It had taken him a few days to get use to being so small and being treated like a kid but his nerves where still kind of wrecked from how short he was now. "Chino better not laugh at me" Asura said to himself as he was on a path towards Oak town, the place where his lover lived. It was a pretty warm and sunny day but snow began to fall and the temperature dropped rapidly as he got closer and closer to the town due to the pure cold aura around him.

The newly short man took a cigarette out of his pocket and placed it in his mouth, taking the lighter out of his other pocket and lighting it. He came up the fork in the road with the large snow fall following him, Asura saw two people mangled with each other on the ground before getting up and speaking to one another. As he approached Asura felt the gravity increase a little, meaning one of them had to be a gravity mage. He knew from experience that they were a pain in the ass and he didn't want to deal with them but at the same time he knew he wouldn't be fighting anyone today.

One kid had black hair with weird looking clothes and another was about as short as him with white hair, also like Asura. "You kids lost?" The unusually short Asura said as he inhaled his cigarette and exhaling as he approached them both.

"Ugh! I keep running into random-ass strangers, and they all seem hell bent on ensuring I fall over... I officially hate this town" proclaimed Inaris with a groan as he stood up and dusted off his white clothing. His eyes were still bright red, and would remain so until he got away from this place. The child glared at the two unfamiliar people, debating whether or not he should kill them for annoying him half to death. As he glared, his hand crept towards his special pocket, where his celestial keys were.

" My apologies, I saw him coming. If i was in your way i did not mean to offend you. I simply am on my way to town to look at the library. I have yet to find a book on my particular talents. It was made apparent by my father it was a Lost art nowadays and i wouldn't meet another with my abilities. I could accelerate your retreat from this town to make up for it. My name is Phaje." He spoke with an uneasy quiver to his voice. He felt uncomfortable but at the same time this is what he had been craving. Even if the interaction was a bit... awkward.

The two of them spoke, the white haired boy spoke first. He wanted to laugh because he reminded Asura of himself, such an anti social individual but he could also feel the killing intent coming from the child. Asura's emotionless face watched as the boy crept a hand into one of his pockets, probably getting something to attack Asura and the black haired guy. "I wouldn't try it kid, I don't have the time to fight anyone" Asura said to him as he threw his cigarette bud into the grass and pulled out a new one.

The black haired kid said he was going into town to go to the library and look up his kind of lost magic. That meant that the increased gravity was coming from him but also meaning he was a complete novice at controlling his abilities. Asura turned his attention to Phaje "the library? I do love books" He said in his neutral tone of voice, lighting his cigarette. He could hear the quiver in Phaje's voice, meaning that he probably wasn't use to talking to people. Taking puffs of his cigarette Asura began to speak "I don't usually do this, as I hate people and frankly you guys looks annoy me" he took another puff "But my name is Asura, unique name you got there black hair" He finished. He wondered what he would get into with this people.

Megalos appeared out of nowhere. The hu- the man had disappeared this morning so Megalos had went ahead and finished his business he'd set out for before running into him. Now he walked along the street nursing his stomach. He still had not fully recovered from his job and the effects is magic had been having on him lately. He felt sick. Like he was going to puke but at the same time he felt bursting with power like he was a giant made of magic. He mumbled to himself as Prince Fotia mentally whispered sympathetically to him telling him he'd be okay after a nap. His buddy meant well but it wasn't helping. Megalos didn't get to far into the city before running into a circus. And by circus he meant the group of mages here one of which was the man who he'd slept with last night. "What's going on here," Megalos groaned irritably for no reason. He was not in the best of moods at that moment.

Upon seeing the kid before him reach for something, Phaje stepped back. 'A game of chess,' echoed through his mind. If the kid meant to strike, he would be ready. At hearing Asura speak of books, it brought him great joy. Maybe Asura was the friend he had been looking for.
"Yes i plan to try to prove my late father wrong. Books hold knowledge. It is unreasonable to believe that an art is Truly Lost. Gravity Magic is a powerful art. I can't see how it would be lost with how well it works." He spoke in Asura's direction but kept his eyes on this kid in front of him.
As this new stranger approached, Phaje started to get the feeling that he may want to avoid this 3 way path in the future. This was busier than a restaurant during lunch rush... Though the new man spoke, Phaje did not answer. His social awkwardness was definitely showing. His voice was definitely starting to be more steady, but he was still uneasy.

"Megalos... what are you doing here? I had hoped you wouldn't notice me gone till after I left the city..." Inaris was rather startled to see a green-faced Megalos pop up with his phoenix pet. Poor man looked ready to puke... Inaris shook his head vigorously, to rid himself of his thoughts of wanting to nurse the man. He wanted to run away from these confusing feelings, but his feet remained rooted firmly to the ground. He tried to move away, but found that to be impossible, his feet carrying him towards Megalos instead. Towards the man who made him feel close to human again.

Asura's suspicion was confirmed that this kid was the gravity mage. Phaje seemed to want to found out more about his magic but for the weird reason to prove his father wrong. "I think I'll stop by the library to relieve my irritation now" Asura said before another weird looking kid and a weird looking pet came out of nowhere. It didn't take long for Asura to see that the new stranger and the white hair kid had more than just a friendship, making him want to puke as he felt the love. "So who are you?" He asked as he turned to the new individual who popped up, wanting to see if he was a threat to them. Asura really wanted to bolt but he needed to kill some time before he met Chino anyway, so he could waste it with these annoying people.

Megalos sat down and leaned against the nearby signpost. He was tired and upset and sick but he tried his best to sound less rude. "Young man there you are *cough* you rushed out of bed without waking me this morning." *cough* *cough* The white haired kid smoking the cigarette gave off one of those smug whatever attitudes and it annoyed Mega instantly for no reason at all but he could sense that the kids presence was older then it seemed and tampered by other forces. For some reason the kid really annoyed him. "You know if you keep smoking you'll never get taller you midget." *cough* Maybe it was mean but the kid really annoyed him for some reason are maybe the toxins in his blood were making him delirious.

"I didn't want you to find out I was gone... i just wanted to leave" admitted the boy, as he slowly went to stand beside Megalos. "I don't know why, but you make me feel almost human again. I want to erase my human emotions, not have more of them. Emotion effects my ability to kill, and killing is my passion." The boy was gentle as he spoke, yet firm. He had to cut ties with this man, every time he was around Megalos he almost felt drunk off of emotion. He needed to stay away before he gained any more of his former emotion... he hadn't felt any good emotion since he had murdered his own family at the age of 8.

" Someone in your state should not be about sir,"  Phaje began.   "THAT will kill you or at least cause harm until you let your body fight off the problems you are having.  Have you checked with a healer perhaps there is one in town."  Phaje remembered something Asura said and his attention snapped to him.  He was finally starting to get the hang of things, or at least he thought.
"You said you were heading to the library would you gladly show me the way? If it's no trouble of course... "
Then Phaje realized it.  He started rambling about his knowledge to the green guy.  He hoped he didn't seem rude.  Uneasiness took over him again as he look at the way the kid looked at the I'll man.  What was going on? The kids words confused him. Without thinking, Phaje muttered "Fear of change makes you more human than emotions.... Think on that. But to change for or because of someone is to lose yourself entirely."

Asura's irritating sky rocketed when the the new kid spoke and made a attempt to make fun of his new height. He took a few more puffs before scratching his head a little bit "you're not worth the comeback " he said not wanting to say anything back and cause a brawl. The caramel skin toned kid was a figure he was going to probably hate more than women and children, especially with his excessive coughing. The white haired kid who once seemed annoyed was still walking towards the other one, spilling out his heart in front of Asura and Phaje. "Get a room you two" He said as he spoke and then turned his attention to Phaje who asked if he could lead him to the library in the town.

"Sure, I'll lead you as I have nothing else to bother me today" Asura spoke as he took the last puff of his cigarette and threw it out. Asura was a little interested this awkward kid, he was a pretty peculiar in a way. He hoped he heard his response as he began to talk to the white haired kid who was talking about his emotions. "Don't waste your breath, Phaje, I know his type" Asura spoke to him.

Megalos gave the man from the other night a kind smile and a pat on the head before standing and lifting him onto his back. "Stay here little buddy. You'll be my good luck charm okay." Megalos laughed with a wink. Then he turned to the midget and his laugh became mirthful. "You know nothing mortal! All the knowledge in the world you could have yet still you'd be ignorant. No matter." Megalos held down his sickness with his will alone his annoyance and the young smoking human dissipated and he inwardly chastised himself for letting his sickness impair his judgement. "Be that as it may neither do I or most of the other being that so call themselves otherworldly. Knowledge is a vast realm impossible to conquer in it's entirety. So much so even the gods of knowledge struggle to do so."

His tone from earlier had been replaced with his normal nonchalant go with the flow with a dash of cheerfulness tone. A tone he'd perfected long ago until it became second nature. "If you want to help me stranger," Megalos started turning to the gravity mage who Megalos could sense twisting the gravity around them. "Take me to this library. There is something I want to understand for myself." There was indeed something bothering the spirit-man and although he knew that the chances of finding his answer in a book in this day were slim he knew not where else to start. "My cute buddy here's going to help me too," Megalos added smiling at the young man who's nickname had apparently been upgraded to buddy.

Inaris was glaring at all 3 of the men around him. "You all know nothing. I myself am immortal, fools! As far as I know, I'm probably older than all of you combined" said Inaris with disdain, ready to show them his true form. And so he did.

The boy was hidden behind a curtain of smoke as he let his immortal appearance settle over his body. Through that curtain, it could be seen that he was growing taller, much taller. As the appearance transformation finished,  he stepped through the smoke to reveal a tall man with long black hair, exaggerated markings under his eyes, and strange red eyes. He stepped closer to Megalos and intertwined his arm with the man's, his gaze making it clear that the others were not to touch him. "I will help you Megalos. But then I think it best if I leave. Assassin work to do elsewhere."

The stranger lover of the other white haired boy came for Asura once again, irritating him and making a vain pop up on his forehead. Why of all days did he have to run into people like these? He had already had enough problems being the size of a eight year old again! He really needed a cigarette but he was running low and wanted to save them. "This present is not worth it" Asura said to himself silently before the tone of the man named meg had changed. It seems that this man was no mere human, similar to Asura now but it seemed he was a much older entity then himself. It wouldn't stop Asura from hating his guts though. He was going to leave but the white haired boy said something about being an immortal, could everyone in said group be one? He chuckled darkly as the man said he was probably older then them but he acted so childish.

"Oh?" Asura said as he saw a curtain of mist cover the boy who seemed to be shifting into his immortal form. It took a few but he turned into a handsome black haired individual but Asura still shrugged at his looks. "I guess it's a nice form for a heathen like you" Asura said as he instinctively took out a cigarette and watched as the newly transformed annoying boy tangled up with mega. He just stared blankly at them as he lit his cigarette and thought to himself. Unlike these two, Asura would never reveal that he was an immortal or frankly anything related to being to those he just met, it was absolutely ridiculous.

"Actually, I have some knowledge on your particular magic" Asura said as he looked at Phaje "several people in my family preformed the same lost magic" he finished as he took a puff.

Phaje could care less about the bantering and started to wish he hadn't ran in to the group at this point. He had never really liked conflict, as his parents always tried to raise him to avoid people that seem to quarrel a lot. When the boy said he was immortal and transformed, he started to realize that one of the books he kept hidden on himself would surely help if this guy was going to start to be serious. He really had no reason to fight this guy though. He also noted through his observation that Asura and himself were the only two to identify their names. The other was named Megalos, but the tranforming kid never identified himself.
"Well since we are all of the accord to get to the library maybe it is best if we go. Although I would like to speak to Asura alone for a bit. Maybe you could meet us in town after you nap? If the book you require is about your current toxins running through your veins it may be a better idea to see a healer. Illness such as yours is rare and intriguing, as long lived individuals usually don't get sick. If you are going to find information it would be best to visit Hargeon and ask entrance into Lamia Scale's personal library. They have a whole wing dedicated to toxins and illnesses. Since you seem to be immortal... it would be assumed you were somehow poisoned as opposed to being sick, Right? I read it is easier to be poisoned than fall ill with a longer lifespan. I apologize if I assumed wrong."
Phaje had read up on immortals within the year. He had read that in biological theory, their body tends to have better defenses, but it was a book on theoretical immortality and long life spans. He walked over to Asura and met eye contact with him. He spoke directly to him now, making sure to keep quiet while talking.
"I feel we should go if we do not want to continue allowing insults and intimidations continue. I didn't come here to watch a battle. Frankly, I find this quarreling to be annoying and much rather be reading in solitude. If i find the book i can leave and not have to deal with humans more than I have to. Also..." He glanced back at the other two. He felt weird watching them embrace. "I rather not have problems with beings older than me. Wisdom tends to come with age but I question how it now effects maturity."
Phaje was definitely in a bad mood after saying this. He didn't care for once what others thought. Pure observation was all that was needed for him to conclude what he had. He was irritated by the display of dominance he felt was being done. This all could have been avoided if the kid had not fallen ran into him. As with his feelings, the aura around him began to intensify, pulling greater on him. He needed to amplify to 2x gravity so he could focus on that instead of the irritation he was starting to feel. He. Just. Wanted. The. Library. Having heard from Asura that his family also used gravity magic had given him a desire to know more...
He had to get Asura alone. Matters of Lost Magic were best kept between families.

Megalos laughed heartily back into the swing of himself and pushed his sickness to the side once again. "It seems you men are mistaken on many accounts," he said to them not unkindly. "I am immortal yes but I am not so old yet I am but a newborn as my current life here has totaled 20 years. However the spirit of my predecessor resides within me providing me with knowledge from millennia and eons ago as well as my connection with nature itself which dates back to the beginning. I am a cub myself but I have access to almost all knowledge that has ever been...To an extent." Megalos put his arm around the new black haired man while sending his Phoenix Prince Fotia away to retain the book he wanted. "This from suits you well little buddy. Honestly no need to be so serious!" With a chuckle Megalos stole a kiss from the man before moving away and continuing.

"Secondly I am a descendent of the monkey King as well, my senses and strength or much sharper then a humans gravity mage. I heard your complaint and you are quite right nothing is gained from puffing ones chest but I assure you other then my temporary leave of my senses I am not the type to do so." Megalos took several more steps back before stopping and finishing up. "Lastly you are right I am not sick I was attacked with enough poison, venom, and acid to destroy 1o,ooo men and survived. So even for an immortal...well I will recover when I recover so there is no need to worry for me Inaris." Megalos gave a deep meaningful look to his passionate one having graduated to a first name basis.

"We will meet again my assassin friend. Until then take care of yourself, and you Mr. I'm sorry I only no one name here but my smoking fellow I have no quarrel with you. I don't know what you are or if you're simply a powerful mage but you are definitely no human at least you don't feel like one. So if you ever need a fresh batch of cigarettes or something a little bit stronger then hit me up, I'm a pretty endless supply of the good green stuff. Just look up GP if you guys ever need to find me and I've already stayed too long farewell." With those last words the man literally suddenly disappeared in a gust of air. one moment he was there and the next he literally had become the air making it seem as if he vanished in a breeze. The wind passed warmly over Inaris as if giving the man a final embrace.

The man was still annoyed at Asura and Phaje, and so he ignored them as Megalos began to speak. His eyes never leaving the man, he blushed slightly when Mega stole a kiss, still rather immature in matters such as actually liking a person. If only he had been a different person... he would grab onto Mega and never let go. But... he was an assassin, and not meant for a kind soul such as Megalos. After the kiss ended he reverted back to his human form, and continued to listen to what the man had to say. He was a little sad to see Mega go, but it was definitely better for both of them. As the other man vanished, a warm breeze could be felt, making Ina smile a bit. Megalos was watching over him...

It seemed the man was saying his goodbyes as he spoke to his seemingly lover and then spoke to the rest of them as well. Before he completely disappeared he had noted that Asura wasn't completely human anymore, which annoyed him as he was putting out secrets that he did not wish to be revealed to people he hardly knew. However it seemed he would be a threat to him in the future, if they ever met again. "Pfft, I'll stick to my cigarettes" Asura said to himself as he turned back to the remaining two people he had met at first.

"So, lover boy what are you going to do now?" He asked the immortal man who stood a few feet away from him. "Also, Phaje I could also give you that book I told you about as we reach the library, it was written by my sister who was a gravity mage" he said nonchalantly as he put out his last cigarette. He was going to have to get more cigarettes soon, he couldn't last with the annoying people around him.

He was more irritated by the man Megalos as he left and said his goodbyes. He looked at Asura when he spoke of the book. "Yes it would be interesting but I would like something more ancient. I may have you hold your family's book back for later, as i feel since I now have been told about it, it would ruin my fun. I am in search of one for myself. Not even to read it but just prove my father wrong. It wouldn't be fair if I had help." He mused. He had found one but not the way he wanted. That was fine. "I will read it sooner than later though. It's always an adventure to read something on something you know a great deal with. Always new things to learn." He turned back to Inaris.
"I can care less how old you are, who you are, or what you are. I apologize for not paying attention and you running into me but your responses are aggrivating. It was an honest mistake, and wisdom would deem its easier to get rid of 'those you don't want to deal with,' simply by avoiding dealing with them. From what I have seen of you, you represent a dark side of humanity. While I have no qualms with this, It's best to know when to speak, when not to, and when its appropriate to pick a fight. This is not one of those. It was merely and accident. One both of us could have avoided. There is no reason for the desplay of force and flexing one's ego. In fact, it just causes aggrivation. With this, I bid you ado. Asura... please lets make haste. My aggressions are rising and I wish not to cause harm at this time."

"Do not call me lover boy!" He spat at Asura before turning to look at Phaje. "And you... again you know nothing. Perhaps it is best if we part ways, and it was probably best Megalos left. I don't... deserve to be around somebody like him anyhow. So if you are leaving, perhaps I will too. I need to get out of here, and far away from Megalos, lest I lose my immortality to my human emotions." With that, the young man turned on his heel, saddened at his own flaws, and at the realization that he wasn't good enough for the first man he ever liked. His heart finally slowed down, no longer the wild drumbeat it had been when Mega was around. This feeling... was it the beggining of love?

It was unexpected when the immortal man spat on Asura, leaving his shocked for a moment. After that moment passed his rage took over for a split second making the air around him drop to below zero temperatures and the snow fall even harder. As he calmed down the temperature began to return to normal and the snow began to stop falling. "I hope to never see that man again" Asura said with a spiteful voice before returning to his normal tone and turning back to Phaje. "That is fine, I'm no longer in the mood to chat I will be heading to the library" He said as he began to walk into town, Asura hoped that this man was not going to be a bother like the other two he just met.
