Why's The Line So Long?! [Job | Solo]

“…” Yet another day, but a stressful one. Shen wasn’t the one to withstand stress like this, and his hair spike twitched out in the air. Why, just why… why was the line so long?!? As far as his damned eye could see, there was a line and more line of thousands of families, groups, rookies and singles that waited for the same, godforsaken thing; that passport. He heard news that the Magic Council had opened up the borders to other countries, in which he thought; hey, if he ever wished to visit his family again, then why not through the LEGAL way, then?

When he travelled to Fiore, it was through secret matters, in which he could actually go to jail if he was caught. However, that was the past, and this was the present; a present that he really wanted to run from… it was stressful. And the family in front of him didn’t make things easier as they held like three to five small babies on their hands, letting out the loudest cries that Shen’s ears had ever heard. He held his pieces of meat on his head closed in order to lock away the voices, but set them free again as the nuisance seemed to calm down. Some event this was… and the line was that long, still!?!?!?!

Okay… an hour had went, and Shen was desperately thinking of what to kill time with. He began having memories of what’d happened before; his small days of jobs with Summer, and all the way back to the day where he joined the guild. Some day that was; he got pushed to a corner by freaking firebirds… nonetheless came he out unharmed and with a new start on his life. When he looked up, he hoped to be closer to the checkpoint, but… really? There was still so long to the tables where people were receiving their passports, so back to thinking…

Was he there? No. He kept asking himself that same, darned question time after time as the line moved slower than a sick snail. Was this what thousand of people went through? They could’ve at least made more checkpoints to get your passports, because if they didn’t expect this bull, then they must’ve been ignorant to the core. Shen was about to move a little further forward when a smaller boy pushed him from behind in order to make space, in which Shen turned around with that look on his face… bad timing. It followed to a louder cry than before, completely his fault…

He was actually getting closer, now that he could see the tables covering his field of vision. There were about five people between him and his passport, in which his hands shook in excitement. That was, in before he slapped himself to remain calm, keeping an eye on the tables that kept moving closer. When there were about two people left, one of the Council members called out to Shen: “You, with the magic power! Come over here!” Shen’s eyes shone in surprise while moving towards the lady as she wrote down on a piece of paper, while he finally received that little, laminated card that was his passport…
