Description: a simple, rounded stone, with a faint purple glow to it, the Cursed Stone Of The Fallen Monk. Smooth, without any sort of wearing to it, the stone is unnatural and terrifying in it's simple beauty.
Long ago, a monk lived simply, deep within the mountains of a forgotten kingdom. He was happy, serving the spirits alone in his sacred shrine, undisturbed and peaceful. But all of that changed when a stranger arrived from a far-off land. The stranger spoke of the world outside, stories of great lands of burning sand and icy wastes. The monk was fascinated by these stories of the outside world, and desired nothing more than to go outside and see it for himself. But the spirits warned him against leaving the shrine, for they could sense a great evil lurking outside. The monk didn't listen to the spirits, sure they were only trying to keep him there so they would still have their servant. But what the spirits feared was true, that a great evil had risen and was targeting all those that served the light.
The monk left the shrine, only to become possessed by a kind of evil spirit, the type that sucked the good from their victims, corrupted them, and caused them to fall, to be cast into the underworld. The monk grew more twisted as the days stretched on, and as the sun set on the last day of the month, his soul was cast into the underworld. As the monk died, he cursed the world with his last breath, his curse sealing itself in a small, purple stone. The traveler that had been staying at the shrine, and discovered the stone, bringing it back to his homeland, unaware of what the stone would do to him.
When the traveler finally arrived home, the people around him began to notice he had changed, and that he would occasionally fly into a terrible destructive rage. This was the curse the monk had placed upon the stone as he had lain dying, before his soul was cast to the underworld. The owner of the stone would be grated a great power, but at the terrible cost of their sanity.
Strengths:
-Grants the user great strength
Weaknesses:
-The strength granted by the stone comes at a price, and that price is that he who uses the power loses their sanity
-Once the stone has been picked up by a new owner, they cannot get rid of the curse, nor fight the terrible insanity that will ensue whenever the stone is used. The stone stays with the user until the day they die.
Abilities:
Raging inferno
This ability of the stone grants the user great power, increasing their own strength by 20%, but while this boost is in effect, the user goes insane, completely stripped of all reason for as long as the boost is kept active.
Diamond Skin
This ability increases the user's resistance to physical attacks by 15%, though while this is in effect, the user loses all sanity. This ability is passive, and as long as the boost is in effect, the user will be affected by the insanity.
