And while you are sitting indoors
waiting for the storm to pass
I will be outside dancing in the rain

I will be outside dancing in the rain

Anyone who knew the young dragon slayer would know she was no fan of fighting. In fact, she tried very hard to avoid it completely, knowing almost every situation ever could be solved with a few carefully thought out words. But she was willing to make an exception in some cases. Training, and duels. As long as it was agreed by both parties and they were both on good terms with one another Astrid saw no reason to decline. It was a good, fun way to test both of their strength and see how far they had come.
And this one, was special. Her opponent was no stranger, but rather, an old friend. Kaisto Tyreal. The sky dragon slayer. An eccentric headcase, but an overall friendly guy nonetheless.
He had come to her with the request of a dual a few days ago, something about wanting to test some of his newer spells. A little out of the blue, but the ace saw no reason to decline. It was just nice to see the man again, not having a lot time these days to travel to Black Rose to see him.
The arena's metal floor was cold against the mage's bare feet. Since this was a dual, she had changed her appearance slightly for the occasion. Normally wearing dresses or more womanly things, she now sported a pair of tight pink shorts and a loose black tank top instead, as well as a black barehand fighting glove on each pale fist, seeing as how she was going to try mostly close combat attacks, for the arena was not exactly that wide open for more long ranged ones.
Astrid crawled slowly through the ropes of the arena, careful to not get caught in them. Once through she stood back up straight, rolling down a small scrunchy from her wrist into her hand.
She shook her head to allow her silver locks to fall into place, then grabbed the base and pulled it into a group, sliding the scrunchy up and tying it into a neat high ponytail. She didn't want her hair to get caught up in the fray and mess her up, or mess it up...
Combing her fingers through it once the ace of topaz let out a small breath through her nose, hands resting on her sides to look around the arena, crimson eyes sweeping the area, awaiting for Kaisto to appear.
