Locked PSA: Hatred and Drama Onsite

Post by Guest 12th December 2016, 2:44 pm

As you all already know, I've expressed how the one thing I want is for this site to come together and be as one: a family who cares for each other. However, in order for us to do that, we have to cast aside our differences and see only our similarities to each other, that's it. That's all you have to do. A site should not be a place where you only want to log onto it simply to create drama and cause heartache among the members. While I know it's in our human nature to bully others, it's also in our human nature to show compassion to those around us; we lack that compassion. We see for ourselves only what we want ourselves to see, but what we are all seeing is a community that is easily torn apart by words of others. Yes, we're a small community. Yes, things get around faster and maybe not what you want to get around, but don't let that get to you. Our community is not a community of heathens, it's a community of outcasts looking for a place to fit in and this place is where everyone should be able to do that.

One thing I want everyone to take a moment and do is to step out of your own shoes and into the shoes of another person on this site. Think for a moment what their life may be like compared to yours; it's not all flowers and rainbows when you think about it, is it? That's what I want everyone to remember when talking to others on this site and to keep in mind when speaking to anyone in general. Not everyone shares what their life is like outside of the site and that's because they come to this site as a means for escaping whatever struggles they're currently having. Don't be mean toward them because you're having a hard time as well or there's something that you just don't like that's happened on the site. Keep remembering that maybe they're not having such a great day either, that maybe it's best to ask how their day was instead. We say and do things on this site as a means of our own self benefit, when in reality, this site is meant to benefit every member on here.

Before you lash out at someone for something, stop and think to yourself: why is this happening and what can I do to stop it? Solving issues is not about who can insult the other better, it's about using rationality and recognizing your own mistakes between the both of you. Once you come to realize that fighting and arguing with one another is not the right way to go, only then will you become a better person. Because, let's face it, not everyone is perfect and there is always going to be a mistake that leads to some sort of drama. You don't want drama as much as I don't want drama, and staff really doesn't want drama that they have to step in and handle. We want this site to be fun and happy for those that come and go. We want people to say, "hey, this site is really cool and friendly, you should come join it!" It hurts the site more than you think when people bring toxicity on here instead of keeping it off the site and away from others.

If you need a place to vent, vent to a friend privately or one of the thousands of sites where you can spill out your feelings without hurting others. Staff is also a good choice to vent to, as well, because we're not just here to approve apps and jobs that are finished. We are also here to assure that you're enjoying your time on the site and that you're doing all right outside of the site as well. The site’s staff members are not horrible people; it’s the words of others that have twisted and contorted the view of members toward us into the wrong direction. You have to remember, a site cannot run without members of staff to keep it orderly and functioning like it should be. We do not go out of our ways to make your life miserable, we do what we need to, to assure the site is fair for everyone. Hate is the last thing staff want, but with what we are trained to do, that is all staff receives from the other end.

You should realize by now that what you say about staff to others will have a way of coming to us so that we learn about it. Everything does, it’s unavoidable. And what we hear about ourselves is more hurtful than you realize, just as hurtful as it would be if you found out someone was talking smack about you behind your back. We do not grade things to make your roleplay miserable, we grade things with the understanding that things should be fair. Yes, we realize everyone grades different, one person may be more lenient than another, but it’s not easy to grade things the same as someone else. It is your job, as a member of the site, to bring the unfair to our attention, so that we may fix it and remove the unfairness. It is not your job to insult the members of staff for something we’ve done that you don’t like; that is attacking us and causing unnecessary drama. You don’t see members of staff attacking members of site when they do something wrong, so why should you?

Don't bring your life into the chatbox either, don't bring negativity at all on the site; the chatbox is meant to be a place of relaxation, not venting. No more gossiping, naming calling, etc because it hurts a person more when they find out than if it's told directly to their face, and this is coming from experience. If we want this site to prosper and continue to live on, we must expect each other to be responsible in ours words and be positive toward others. One thing everyone has to remember is that this site cannot cater to every individual person; there is always going to be something one person doesn't like. If you don’t like it, look for the positives in it because if you don’t like something, you’re only looking at the negatives of it or how it doesn’t benefit you for what you want. This site is not a competition and neither should it be; a roleplay site is for roleplaying and enjoying yourself, not having a miserable time. So, stop all this drama and actually enjoy yourselves, learn to appreciate the positive things that are on this site than focusing on the negatives.

It is not possible for a single site to be able to cater to everyone's needs individually; so we compromise as best as we can. Please, all of this drama that is created from the members because of whatever reason is more hurtful than anything else. Don’t look at the negatives of everything, look at the positive of outcomes or ways you could go about something differently. The more we insult and hurt each other, the more we push away potential members that see all of the hate that appears on the site. No one wants to come to a site where all they will see everyday, all day, are members bickering and fighting with each other. Is that what you want for this site? I doubt that’s why you come here everyday, is to look for trouble to entertain yourself. So, stop all the hate, stop all the drama, learn to enjoy what’s being given to you for free of charge, and make friends, not enemies.
