Joining the Hydra

Letting out a long sigh Kyrin approached the large doors. It was a long journey to make it to this particular guild, but it was worth it. At least he hoped so. He heard the rumors of the guild from several sources, but your never could tell from rumors. Still this seemed like a good guild to join. With no more hesitation he walked through the doors.

Inside was beyond what he expected. He expected a large simple room with many table, chairs, bar, and a stage for the guild master to address the guild. This was that and more. To describe the building in one word would be resort. At least in his opinion. The only indication of his surprise was a slight widening of his eyes, but other than that nothing. He continued inside carrying his backpack and a duffel with his stuff.

As usual in the guild-house the scattered members of the nearby village were sitting around at tavern tables positioned about. A number of them with visible marks of the Infinity Hydra seated, eating, chatting and generally enjoying themselves.

At the farthest point from the entrance seems to be the main point of people gathering for a few moments, or others that appear to have been sitting there for longer than one would admit- The bar. Behind the counter is middle-aged man in a dress wear serving drinks, answering questions and jotting the occasional note down in a large leather bound book.

One particular patron seemed to be seated at the bar. His body language and general aura don't seem terribly eager to be interacting with the random passerby's. He was garbed in a dress-coat that fell down to approximately his knees if he were standing straight. Raven black hair with a pony-tail drooped over his back. All while sporting an overall youthful appearance, little damage was visible to his body from what you could see. He seemed to be impatient over something with his left foot bouncing on one of the stool supports and a mug of liquid held in his left hand, if the observation of the drink was in sight. The location of the Infinity Hydra symbol in black was tattooed to his wrist.

While taking in the sights. You see a wave of a hand from the bartender "Welcome welcome! Come in and take a seat. If you have any questions poke around. Plenty friendly faces here!" As he finished his introduction, the bartender was cleaning some mugs. Returning to some chatting with others and merely went about his business.

Kyrin gave the bartender a wave and shifted his backpack on his back. Glancing around the room he chose the path that almost lead directly to the bar, while avoiding as many of the females as possible. He walked with a determined stride; his face not quirking into a smile or showing much of any emotion. His eyes focused on the bar and his path, studiously avoiding the eyes of any of the women. It helped a little, but he felt each of their eyes on him as he walked.

Once he reached the bar he let a small smile appear on his lips, though it was a forced effort since he didn’t know the man behind the bar. It came easier once he got to know a person. He set his backpack on the floor next to him and leaned on the bar with a sigh. ”That was a long walk. I heard this is a light guild that’s opposed to the dark.”

Not far off from where Kyrin stood, the young man sat there still looking rather ready to move. But paused only a moment from his vigorous foot tapping to spare a glance over to Kyrin. The dark blue of his eyes almost difficult to differentiate from black in the current lighting, but as he watched he studied his form, size and being afore turning back to his mug. Which didn't have any distinct smell looming from around it. "Mh. We are a guild that makes a stand against dark guilds when we can yes. I think there's enough ambiguity among our members to say we're closer to neutral- But I don't think that's terribly fitting." Lifting the mug by the wooden handle, he swished the liquid around before downing the rest.
Pivoting on the stool he stood up and strode over to Kyrin briefly realizing the build difference was a bit more than he initially gave notice too; seeings how he was about six inches shorter and a good sixty pounds less. Even so, he lifted his right hand to offer to shake. "Name is Copy. If you're interested in joining I'm sure we can arrange the signing and preparations. I believe it's more of a formality to meet the guild leader than necessity." After he spoke he gave a quick motion to the bartender with his left hand.

And with that the middle-aged bartender left briefly into the back and returned with a large leather-bound book and a stamp. Flipping a few pages in, displaying a few slotted points for name and a few lesser points of interest. Drawing out a pencil he left it there. "When and if you're interested, sign here. I'm sure Copy can help with the tattoo and any other questions you might have. Notably, the list showed Copy's name not far from the blank sets.

"So what's your name?" His left brow rose inquisitively.

Kyrin turned from the bartender to the new voice. For a split second he thought it was a female, but only because of the long hair tied back into a ponytail. However the rest of the features were definitely masculine. None of his hesitation showed on his face however, and he tried to give the man a smile. Again it looked forced; almost like smiling was an alien concept to Kyrin.

The extended hand he produced was genuine. ”My name is Kyrin. And I’m definitely interested in joining.” He shook Copy’s hand, and his smile grew slightly more natural. Not much, but he could feel himself relaxing a bit with the man. He then turned and signed his name in the book. Her noticed that the young man was also relatively new. Actually he couldn’t really call him a young man. Copy looked to be close to his age.

”So, have you met the guild leader?” He rolled up the sleeve of his right arm to expose his shoulder. ”If I can have the tattoo anywhere, then I think I’d like it here.” His arms twitched slightly as he realized more and more of the females in the guild were looking at him. It felt like many little pin pricks along his skin.
