The one on his chest depicts the Number “7” five times arranged in a semicircle. Each number is in a different color in the following order: blue, red, violet, gold and green.


Personality:

When it comes to Ace’s personality there is one thing nobody leaves out when describing him, one word that is present in all his descriptions: Luck. Yes, Ace has been the refugee of Lady Luck since he started his past life as an outlaw. No matter where, when, with whomever about whatever - things always turned out in his favor. In fact he is so lucky that one might say even a point-blank shot would go horribly wrong so that he would end up victorious.

Besides the term “lucky” there are many other aspects of Ace’s personality. Usually he is a spirited young man always laughing and smiling and shouting to his heart’s content. He is the type of person that forces the good mood in and the bad mood out; even his mere presence lightens up a room. Positivity radiates from his being, smiles force themselves upon everyone’s faces while all Ace does is be his usual self…his usual goofy self. Whilst he already qualifies as a young adult his heart, mind and soul are nowhere near as mature as his body. If you look at him from afar he seems like kid without a single worry in the world…well an overgrown child to say the least. Lively is word!

Girls, alcohol and games: his top priority, but not necessarily in that order. If anything “games” would be the first! But what this means is no kiddie’s game like tag and whatnot. No, no…what it means is card games and to be even more precise gambling that involves cards. Never has he lost a game of cards and he prides himself upon this fact…even though it was never through fair play.
“I’ve never lost a fair game…but then again…I’ve never played one”

When it comes to liquor there is one phrase that most say when seeing him drink: “How the hell isn’t he getting alcohol-poisoning?!” Ace can hold his liquor at an extremely competitive level and for some reason his liver doesn’t even seem slightly bothered. This is probably the reason why he drinks all day and night. The taste of alcohol and the burning sensation it causes excite him in an unimaginable way. But he’s never drunk or even tipsy…though with his drinking habit he should have been dead long ago.

The way he treats young women is probably immoral. Not that he physically abuses them! It’s just that he gets pretty handsy and “friendly” with them; many a girl has already fallen for his child-like charm. Basically: he’s not just a cheat at games but with women as well! Oddly enough though, he can recite the names of each and every girl and match them to the right faces – a trick he picked up while living on the streets.

He can’t just be womanizing, cheating, gambling drinker?!
Well he isn’t. Besides his lively personality Ace is quite friendly as well…though not in a conventional manner. Sure he helps out wherever he can, entertains children and treats those well who treat him the same way, but the way he talks just gives you the opposite idea. His bad language and strong Texan accent along with his whole outfit make him seem more like a bandit leader, a negative influence. Another habit of his that makes him “unconventionally” friendly is how he makes you owe him a favor AFTER he has helped you; another sneaky trick he learned. The last point that makes him unconventional is how lazily he behaves. Most of the time you have to persuade him for a long while before he gets up and does anything…though money and favors do seem to get his attention. Unless he’s been asleep for a while and just woke up he usually will help although it may take him a short while to get started. Fundamentally though he’s a nice and friendly guy.

One thing to beware of when it comes to Ace: DO NOT wake him up! He really isn’t a morning person and is extremely groggy and aggressive when he just got up. If you do however…run…just run…no amount of bribery can save you if you wake him. But once he has fully awoken it’s all back to fun and games.

Honesty isn’t his best trait though. If anything Ace has a bad habit of lying when it is most convenient and it usually works. Despite his looks he is quite bright and sly. All the time he spent living a life of crime has made him skilled in the arts of deception and escape. His lies are thought out, he knows where to keep his lock-pick and he knows how to hide ANYTHING from ANYONE…even his past. No one knows much about who he used to be; just that he has acquired wealth through unknown means.

Now to the all too crucial subject: death/killing. Don’t get Ace wrong, he may be a nice guy but he’s a kid from the streets! Death is all too common to him. Although he prefers not to Ace WILL KILL if it is the best solution to a problem – and exception being when his own life is threatened; THAT’S when all his moral values go out the window and into the incinerator. Speaking of which: what other values does he have? Well, first off, loyalty is a greyish area for him. Ace tries to stay true to his comrades, but if an offer comes up that’s just irresistible he will, hesitantly, do anything. Luckily there isn’t much in this world that he really longs for anymore. However if anyone would harm his comrades Ace will exact revenge upon those responsible. Torture is not beyond Ace. He will apply it, but only when it is appropriate/necessary.

Amongst those few thing he longs for is having a family or more specifically a child. Having had a rough childhood himself he knows what a kid SHOULDN’T experience when it grows up. He has vowed to treat his son(s)/daughter(s) with more care and love than he had ever experienced. This small part of him creates a fatherly attitude when it comes to children. He becomes loving, caring and VERY protective. This ”father’s instinct” also applies for young women. How does THAT fit in with his womanizing? What most don’t know is that he treats each woman with utter respect and gives them the time of their lives even if his goal is just a one-night stand. And when he leaves, he tries to be as gentle as possible to not scar the lady he had just slept with. Ace highly respects women even though it seems like the complete opposite. If a woman is being mistreated he will respond violently, not aggressively, VIOLENTLY!

His behavior when during combat may strike some people as odd and annoying. Due to Ace’s playful and childish nature he treats fights like a game; he has fun battling others. Whether it’s sparing or a fight for his life, he approaches it like everything else: with a smile on his face and a semi-annoying laugh. Collateral damage is a term unknown to him. Anything and everything that can be used will be used, people being the exception.

Is he a leader or a minion? That’s actually really situational. If there is someone who is evidently more suited as a leader Ace will gladly give way to that individual. But when it comes to equals or those he sees as such it will be a bitter fight to the end. The reason behind it is simple: he hates being ordered around. If you ask him nicely he’ll comply, but if you force it then you got a full throttle rebellion!

Likes:

1. Card games:
Never lost one and never will. Cards are his territory and no one can top him in any…mainly because he cheats. But he does so that no one notices. Even the most advanced of players with the keenest of eyes and sharpest of minds can’t get behind how he does it. Ever since he was just a mere toddler Ace loved to play with cards. His father, a stage magician, taught him many tricks. Soon he started more and more complex games until he arrived at his favorite card game to date: Poker.

2. Fast food:
Seriously…who doesn’t?! If Ace could he’d eat only fast food. Sadly it’s very unhealthy and he tries to watch his figure every now and then. 24 Inch Pizza and a large Double cheeseburger with a side of large fries and a jumbo coke – that’s his usual fast-food meal.

4. Dogs:
Ace loves dogs. As a child his family had one and as he led the street life his closest companion was a dog. He truly believes that they are man’s best friend and if anyone wants to dispute that fact, that person will have to answer to Ace’s fists of fury.

5. Big Band music:
Ace may not be a music expert but he knows music when he hears it. To him Big Band is the best type there is next to Country and Rock. The first time he heard a piece was over the radio. For the next 4 months he was obsessed with that piece and soon started searching for other musical masterpieces played by big bands. His favorite is “Sing, Sing, Sing” by Benny Goodman.

6. The great outdoors:
Nature has always been a kind friend to him and he treats it equally. Ace doesn’t mind any of nature’s precious creations although he does prefer to stay away from certain creatures. The clear blue sky and the starlit night are both things he could gaze at for hours on end…or fall asleep first – whichever comes first.

7. The Number 7 and Ace of Spades:
Spades is Ace’s favorite suit and the Ace well…it reminds him of himself. It is more of an ego related like of his. The number 7 is his “lucky number”. Whatever situation he had been in in which his luck came to shine, the number 7 always popped up somehow. Ever since he discovered that fact Ace tattooed himself with that number.

8. Pretty much anything else he deems as “fun”, but the points above are his main likes.


Dislikes:

1. Cats:
Ace just simply hates them. He doesn’t know why but he just feels something disturbing about them. The way they prowl around at night time, the way they are silent as the night...it just f creeps him the hell out.

2. Health foods:
Ace just simply hate’s the taste. The mere fact that someone created food for HEALTH is disgusting to him. It’s like turning candy into medicine for him when he first discovered these. It was all anyone talked about in the high class society but when he tried it…t’was beyond his ability to chew, never mind swallow, the first bite.

3. Pessimists/demotivated people:
The downers of society in his opinion. Being a cheerful and festive person these sorts of people are his polar opposite and natural enemy. It’s challenging to put some faith, motivation and joy into them but he will NEVER give up and push it to its limits. Ace once met a pessimist…after numerous unsuccessful attempts he just literally beat the pessimism out of him…never understood how and didn’t really care.

4. Flies/Mosquitos:
Pesky little buggers to anyone, but not as extreme as to Ace. His tolerance level for their continuous buzzing and biting is very, VERY low and he usually breaks out in rage trying to kill them if that level is reached…many a house has either been burned down, crushed or blown up as a result…


Motivations:

1. His own Casino:
That’s Ace’s ultimate dream: his very own casino. The reason behind it is his love for Gambling. He wishes to “spread the joy” in and unconventional manner. The vision he has is a western themed 6 story casino/hotel/amusement park – everything in one. This is so that people of all ages, races, religions, social standings and/or criminality can enjoy themselves. There is only one rule that the guests should take heed to: No discrimination or else you are banned for life! Sadly he doesn’t have the financial resources or the business skills required to support such a huge operation. The second problem is easily fixed, but the first…let’s just say that he has done the math and he missing a good 95% of what he needs even with all his current wealth.

2. Having a family:
Another one of his life goals is to have a family; a healthy and happy family. He wants to become a father to two daughters and show them the love he so desperately longed for as a child. He has the perfect picture of his future family in his mind along with the house they were going to live in, their garden, their porch...this is the sad reason he rushes through so many women, always hoping to find “the one” among them and treating them fairly as he would his wife.

3. Staying wealthy:
Wealth is something Ace didn’t have as a child and has finally acquired after years of struggle. Both the relief of not having to worry about how to ration your cash for the week and his vision for his future family require him to sustain his wealth. If anything were to happen to his riches Ace would be struck by grief and crushed hope and probably would…

4. To keep his comrades:
Friends were something rarely seen when on the streets. All you had were people acting nice and keeping you around until you were useless to them. He knows the value of true friendship and wishes to keep those around whom he has befriended. One small group of thieves and conmen in particular: the small criminal group of 3 women and 3 men that became his true friends on the streets.


Fears:

1. Death:
Although he may not hesitate at times to bring death to someone else, Ace fears it as well. He may be emotionally numbed against it but that is just a defense mechanism. In reality death terrifies him, the mere thought of losing someone precious to him devastates him and the memories of his losses… This is the reason he became who he is. Partly because that was him but also because it blocked out all the negative emotion.

2. Complete Darkness:
Unlike most other people Ace never completely got over his fear of darkness. If there is at least some moonlight it’s fine but when its pitch black he breaks out in a cold sweat and starts shivering uncontrollably. Before becoming a mage he always carried around a flashlight just in case. He NEEDS at least some small source of light to keep up his childishly manly appearance. There is no real reason behind this fear, it’s just a remnant from a child’s nightmares…or maybe it reminds him of isolation, of being lost or even of death?

3. His past:
Ace fears the deed of his past catching up to him. It’s not that he fears for his own safety, but also for that of those around him. A criminal life isn’t exactly safe and you accumulate many, many enemies in the process. Coincidentally Ace has ruined the businesses of many gangs, mobs, mafias, triads etc. through his constant “good fortune” at gambling with cards. This effectively shut these organizations down but also made them his worst enemies. Although they still do not possess nearly as much power as they used to these criminals may still be a threat to those surrounding him.

Appearance:
Ace is a rather tall young man who looks older than he really is. With his beard that outlines his entire face and his rather muscular (and hairy) body he would seem more like a 30 or 35-yearold. He usually wears a leather cowboy outfit along with a trench coat with large shoulder pads. Attached to his belt he has two holsters for two decks of cards.
