Lilian's Secondary Magic Training (private; VindStot)

Nothing could prepare Lilian for what she heard and felt while riding along Thunder Island, nothing at all.

While riding over the seas, Marshmallow and Lilian were going to completely bypass Thunder Island. Considering it has a tendency to have giant thunderstorms like every god damn day, and the lightning is more common to fall than the rain is. That'd be a very bad choice to go to, however something was different today. There was no clouds, no thunder, no lightning, none at all.

Lily flew down to a village on the coast of the island, and quickly hopped off to see everyone in a giant panic. An old man walked over to Lilian, and began speaking to her.

"Miss, you shouldn't be here. My einherjar have gone loose, this is a problem we should suffer, not innocents." The man quickly tried to shoo Lilian off as if she were just impeding on his process to get his einherjar back.

The first thing that popped into Lilian's mind was "what the hell are einherjar?" Yet the second thing was...

"Sir don't worry! I got this, I'll get your ein-thingies back in a flash. Just tell me where to f-"

Then she heard it. A roar.

A loud roar.

A REALLY loud roar.

This probably could be heard halfway accross Earthrealm for all she knew, but whatever it was looked like a giant dragon. It was in the sky, thousands of meters above the ground, but Lily could see it. Whatever it was, Lilian hoped that that thing was a commidity around here.

"That is Bahamut, my strongest einherjar. Some say its power rivals that of even an S rank mage, but I've never had the chance to use it. I just know it's my strongest because of the original beast's power."

"I-It's okay... I'll defeat it if ya want me to... So I just gotta bring back a giant... Dragon.... Okay!" Lilian felt like she wanted to vomit. She walked over to the side of a house, and slumped against it.

"Man, fight a dragon with the strength of an S rank? Seems out of my ball park.... But I must defeat it! But... There are probably more of those, he did say Baha-whatever was his STRONGEST einherjar... And what does that even mean?" Lilian said aloud, not really talking to anyone but herself.

This'll be a long few days

As per usual, Leila was doing nothing at all. Sleeping on a roof of one of the houses now, she had a pleasant dreams about melons floating in the air. Of course, she was able to eat as much as she wanted.. and then, the boss appeared! A giant melon that was carved like a pumpkin. It wanted to eat her instead. But as heroic as she was, she would defeat this monstrosity. Well, she wanted to... but her dream was quickly shattered by noises from all over the place. Lazily getting up and looking around, she realized that most of the villagers were running around in panic, as if something bad had happened.

"Miss, you shouldn't be here. My einherjar have gone loose, this is a problem we should suffer, not innocents."

She was able to pick up those words from the chaos in the village. The voice was old and seemingly experienced too. Getting up on her two feet, Leila had a good look around before she spotted the elder talking to another young looking girl. Perhaps this was the fun she was looking for. After all, she was in this village because she got a tip that fun stuff happens in this place. It was named thunder island after all, definitely something special. Jumping down, the silver-haired mage would quickly get behind the old man. "Einherjar, huh? That's some rare stuff you got there grandpa." The poor man was very surprise by the girl suddenly appearing behind him, stunned to silence. Well, that was fine. All the info was already given to the other girl, after all. Approaching the green haired beauty, Leila would lean towards her from behind in a sneaky manner as well while she was seemingly thinking about something. "Hey, are you gonna be fighting those cards? If so, would you mind if I tagged along?"

It would definitely be much better than doing it alone for her. And Leila always wanted to fight those things, ever since she heard about them from a certain elder in a village somewhere in Bosco. They sounded like fun, and maybe they could get some sort of reward from this village as well if they manage to stop this small apocalypse. Not to mention that this other girl looked rather interesting, and it was always nice to make new acquaintances or even friends.

Lilian was startled by another person, a younger woman, perhaps fresh out of her teens by her look. This young woman was way too close for comfort, and Lilian scooted aside a few paces before retorting.

"D-Did you just call that thing a card? That looked like a giant frickin' dragon to me! But yes, I'll be fighting those 'cards.' If you tag along it'll be a blessing, I'd rather not get slaughtered by a few monsters with strength double mine, huh?" Lilian joked. She got up, and offered her hand to Leila.

"Lilian Truth! My friends call mr Lily, for short." After both introduced themselves, the old man came back over to the pair of them.

"If you two ladies are dead-set on fighting those einherjar, I'll tell you where I originally found the original beasts, so you can defeat them. Rogue einherjar tend to stick around their predecessor's area, of course. And for you, Miss." The old man gave Lilian a small rectangular case of sorts. When Lily opened it, she found a deck of cards, the first ten had names of the cards, but were blank in the image area, and the rest were completely blank. (Will be for UA)

"Here is a map, I've circled the areas where I originally found the einherjar, and labled which one was where."

He gave this map to Leila, whom had far more understanding of the topic than Lilian did. She was just lost.

"Your acquantence here seems to have more knowledge over you, you may ask her any questions you have about einherjar. I have my village to try to settle down. I apologize for any inconvenience." The man soon walked away.

This left Lilian herself in a state of disarray. First she accepted a job way out of her league, then some mystery girl offers her some help in fighting it, then the old man drops an info dump on the two and then just leaves!? This was truly terrible.

Hopping on the saddle of Marshmallow the wyvern, she turned to Leila. "Where's the closest ein-thingy? I'll give you a ride to save time, okay?"

OOC: The first area (since you have the map) would be a Volcano, where Ifrit resides.

It was kinda cute when the girl waddled a little bit further away from Leila, startled by her sudden voice. Teasing people like this, it was always the best way to get interesting reactions and pass time. Sadly, it was hardly time to be fooling around like that right now.

"Well... it's not exactly a card right now, is it? But it probably was summoned from one. Or rather, by the looks of it, it clawed it's way out of one. And now it's free, like a bird that fled it's golden cage~"

It probably wasn't the best explanation ever, but it sounded poetic! And it wasn't too far from the truth, unless she was mistaken about these guys being rogue. There was always that little chance that she was wrong about things and that she was making herself look really stupid in the eyes of those who knew what was actually going on. But hopefully it wasn't like that today. And with a lovely introduction from Lilian, Leila could only do the same, tipping her top hat as she spoke.

"Leila Vergious, and ex-traveling mage, now in services of guild named Golden Phoenix."

She tried to make it sound as fancy as possible, but it probably just ended up making her look like some oddity. Not that she wasn't, her silver hair and gray spots on skin would suggest as much. In the meantime, the old man explained another little bit and gave Lilian something rather important. That little prison those guys managed to escape while forgetting that they were in someone's services. And a map that showed several locations, showing the two girls where to look. As it was right now, they should probably go around the place and clean up, tending to the dragon as last. And for his own convenience, he also made sure that they would not ask him any question. Instead, he made Leila that target. Though her partner did seem to know how urgent this was and wasn't wasting time by asking questions right now. And for some reason, she also had a wyvern? That was definitely something cool and the nature loving mage quickly hopped on, right behind Lilian.

"I'd say that the closest one is in the Volcano, though there is quite a few locations..."

This would indeed be one long job... still, it was bound to be some fun indeed!

It all started to make sense once Marshmallow flapped its mighty wings and took off into the sky. These beasts came from cards, the cards summoned them like a gateway to the actual world. That's why the man gave Lilian the deck, so she could seal the beasts back into their cards. Or at least that was the wyvern knight got from it. She saw the mountain, the volcano they were supposed to find the first einherjar, until another unexpected event happened.

A giant ball of blue light followed another roar from Bahamut.

"MARSHMALLOW WATCH OUT!!!" Lilian yelled as Marshmallow narrowly dived out of the way, and spun out, nearly crashing. Lilian grabbed Leila's arm with one of hers, to make sure that the other mage wouldn't fall off of the wyvern.

A bumpy, but more or less safe fall ended with Marshmallow skidding on a solid rock ground. A few seconds went by, then a giant explosion sounded from over a mile away, but could be heard as if it were happening right next to the pair. Lilian sighed, then attempted to joke to lighten the mood.

"Well, glad we aren't over there, eh? You okay Marshy?" Marshmallow screeched in retort.

Right as Lilian was about to take a breather, a crashing sound occured. Lilian turned her head, to find a giant red-orange beast of flames. It looked like a devil and a boar had a child, and jacked it on fifty pounds of steroids. Either way, it was massive and roughly five times Lilian's height alone, and as for muscle mass, it didn't lack at all. It gave a roar, then stood there staring at the group.

Sitting behind her newly made friend, Leila was unable to deduce what she was thinking about right now... but it was probably related to the job at hand. After all, she appeared to be quite lost and confused before, perhaps little scared as well. She wasn't exactly the best at reading emotions from people's faces, but she still got that impression. And it was once again slightly awakening that big sister personality hidden within her, a small desire to protect. Of course this green-haired girl was a warrior, far from being a fragile girl that needed any protection. But still, what could be wrong with wanting to help others?

Leila's hands slowly moved and embraced Lilian by her sides in very similar matter of someone holding the rider of a bike. But the gentle hold became much stronger and tighter when the wyvern had to perform sudden dodge maneuver to evade attack from that dragon in the sky. At least they managed to land without killing themselves, though Leila did have few bumps here and there as she started clawing her way out of the rocks they landed among. "Uh, I guess that thing is territorial... might be a small issue for us." That was her response to Lilian's words. But right now, they had more to worry about.

Another creature quickly appeared and it was strangely reminiscent of demonic flame summons. It was an Ifrit alright. "Oh no... no, no, no! Why is it made out of flames! It could be anything and they had to choose flames?!" Leila was quick to start complaining once she saw their enemy. After all, fire was her greatest enemy, the biggest weakness she had. Even if this thing was weak, she should probably keep her distance. "Hey, um... Lilian? I can't sense much magical energy from this thing, which means that it's pretty weak. Could you maybe take care of it by yourself? I'll be cheering you on from the sidelines!" With sparks in her eyes, the silver-haired girl was filled with energy and positivity when she tired to throw all the work at her partner. But surely she would make up for it soon enough, right? She just didn't want to burn alive right now, that was all...

Lilian blinked twice at Leila. That was certainly an odd way to say you didn't want to fight the creature. Lilian knew it was weak overall, but this creature was just sheer massive. Lilian scratched her head, then walked over to her spear Vidofnir, which was scattered from the fall.

"Alright, fine. I'll take out the bad guy while the stronger mage hangs tight in the sidelines cheering me on!" Lilian joked. She hopped onto Marshmallow's back, and then flew towards Ifrit, only to jump off of the wyvern's back and attempted to plunge the spear right into its chest.

Attempted to.

A giant hand bitch slapped Lilian's entire body away, making her land on her butt on the rocky floor. Despite the force behind the attack, it didn't actually hurt that much.

"Oh Leila save me! The monster hit me!" Lilian feigned distress while rubbing her slightly sore bum, then picking up her spear. Marshmallow was distracting Ifrit, flying around its head and slashing it every now and then. Lilian wasn't going to use her magic yet, her magic was far too costly.

Sprinting again behind Ifrit, she stabbed the spear into its leg. With a roar of pain, the beast swung around. It seemed kinda dumb, as it didn't realize Lilian was swinging from the spear in the back of its calf. Finally it stopped and stomped once making Lilian let go. Marshmallow however bit down on Ifrit's arm, causing it to try to swat at Marshmallow like a fly. Good thing the wyvern was nimble, Lilian thought.

Taking the spear from Ifrit's leg she whistled for Marshmallow to come back. The dragonkin did a quick swipe, and flew down towards Lilian. Lily climbed up on the saddle and took off one more time. Ifrit was now facing her, and summoned a giant ball of fire in its hands, throwing it at the pair.

Lilian made Marshmallow actually go over the ball, not under it, and came down powerfully with a thrust to the chest, shattering the green crystal. Ifrit roared in pain, and then collapsed backwards.

The deck of cards at Lilian's waist started vibrating, and glowing. Lily took out the cards, and one of them was glowing while the others weren't. Unknowing of what to do, she moved towards the beast. Ifrit dissolved into a small ball of light, then the light flew into the card. Soon the name, picture, and description of the beast was shown on the card.

"Eidolon Ifrit? 'A powerful djinn with control over scorching flames hot enough to turn the whole world to ashes.'" She read. "Ha! Yeah right... Oh Leila, that was so scary! Why'd you make me fight the giant beast that could incinerate the world!?" She laughed again.

It was interesting to watch how the girl fought the giant beast. Sure, there were few moments where she didn't exactly succeed in what she wanted to do, but it was still pretty good. And thankfully Leila wasn't exactly a dumb girl, she knew full well that Lilian was just fine despite being hit like that. Not even flinching Leila just stood there and watched from distance.

If she was in that position, it would probably be way more painful, and mainly, she would be already burning like a thing stick thrown into a fireplace. Her weakness against flames was no joke and despite being fairly powerful wizard, she would probably be capable of loosing to a burning fireplace given the opportunity

It was also quite nice to see how that flying creature cooperated with it's owner, showing a good example of partnership. It clearly reminded her of her own fights with Yuki at her side. It was shame that the ice dragoness was not at her side today, it would certainly make this situation less embarrassing for her. But oh well, at least the fight was over.

"Well, if you're so badly injured then we have no choice. Remove your clothes and I'll nurse your butt right away!"

A little joke back accompanied by a thumbs up. All things aside, Lilian did very good. It was nice knowing that she was a reliable partner that had some sense of humor as well. Better than a certain hero she had to work with not to long ago, that one was cold as a stone.

"You know how cards are. The text on these things is usually rubbish. But you did good and you deserve pat on your head. So do tell me when you feel like having one."

After those words of praise, Leila produce the map again. Since they were seemingly done here, they should probably head towards the next one. Or maybe not, it all depended on how fast they wanted to stop this on going catastrophe. Since they were in place this hot, they might have as well started sunbathing or something, having a deserved rest after defeating a legendary boss that was capable of destroying the entire world with it'S flames.

"Hey! No one will be removing their clothes!" Lilian responded with a bright red blush on her face. That was one thing she didn't joke about. She hated the thought of being even half naked in front of others. Soon realizing that Leila was just joking, the redness in her face vanished, and she walked back over to her.

"A pat on the head would only be deserving after the job is complete, right? But for real, lets get out of this volcano." Lilian was about to hop back on Marshmallow, when a different screech sounded through the volcano. It sounded like a bird. Soon enough, from above, a massive red bird 6 times the size of Lilian flew down from the sky and landed on the ground after a few flaps. Well, the bird itself wasn't that size, its tail and body were the same size, making it seem double what it actually was. Marshmallow roared at the bird, and Lilian took a step back.

"Woah! There was two here!? Why didn't the bird attack us while I was fighting If-OH GODS!" The bird charged at the couple, but was intercepted by marshmallow, whom charged into it with full force, causing the bird to crash into one of the rocky walls. Marshmallow flew back towards two mages, and stood on the ground.

"Thanks Marshmallow. So uh Leila, that's one of those classic Phoenixes right? Controlling flames like the Ifrit? Perhaps it won't turn the world to ash, but do ya want me to solo this one too?" She took out a different spear from Marshmallow's pack, and stabbed it into the ground. A blue light resonated from it, and three skeletons rose from the ground, ready to fight. They were going to talk to Lilian, until they saw the phoenix that was now recovering from being hit by the wyvern.

OOC: So sorry I didn't tell you about this, but there are two einherjar in each area. The map doesn't say that, but I probably shouldve told you via pm. This one is a B Rank Summon, it has passive regeneration, and it can use a healing spell to regenerate half of its HP once. Not that hard to beat, and it actually doesn't use fire-based attacks XD.

Her reaction to that joke was precious. Apparently even someone who looked like a warrior was embarrassed about stuff like that. It almost made Leila want to tease her more. Or rather, not almost but totally.

"Aaah, what a shame. Guess I won't be seeing Lilian's adorable bottom just yet~"

These jokes were good and all, but they were in quite a bit of hurry. And just as they were to leave for another location, a different rogue summon appeared above them. It did seem kinda odd that there was less circles on the actual map than there was cards in Lilian's deck. This explained it to certain degree... two different creatures were in one singular location. Truly, it would be quite troublesome if they had to fight two stronger ones at once. But these guys weren't smart enough to actually do that. Taking a good look at the creature, Leila shook her head.

"A phoenix... heh, how stupid. Sorry, but I can take this one down by myself? Those flames aren't real flames, just magical energy that looks like flames. And... well... as a member of Golden Phoenix, it's like my duty to bring this creature down."

Smiling at Lilian, she didn't even wait for her response and hopped towards the wyvern, giving it a gentle stroke as a reward. "Thanks for helping us buddy... I'll take care of the rest."

The phoenix itself was definitely stronger than the Ifrit from before, strangely enough. But it's magical energy didn't lie at all. And as a phoenix, it probably had healing abilities, which would make it even more annoying. The best solution to this was make the fight as short as possible. With a grin on her face, Leila prepared herself as the creature drew near.

"Alright, time to shine! Rewriter's gear! The holy bow! Come to my aid!" With those words, a green aura suddenly appeared around the girl and a silver bow manifested itself in her hands. Two spells of hers that were capable of making all other spells drastically stronger.

The bird finally started charging again and Leila jumped right against it. And in the last moment, her body transformed into nothing more than a gust of wind and few green leaves. She reappeared above the phoenix, ready to shoot with the bow. And so she did, doing no damage with the arrow but leaving a magical seal instead. Seal that decreased defenses of those affected.

As she was still in the air, her body soon fell onto the phoenix, a wooden sword forming in her hand along with a sound of bell that rang somewhere. Blades made out of wind quickly formed around the seemingly fragile blade, copying it's shape. Running back towards it's head, Leila made sure to slash it's back properly, leaving some serious damage and making the giant stop in it's tracks.

In fact, it stopped completely, collapsing soon after. Leila just loved these abilities... it truly allowed her to end even these giant foes in an instant. Though of course at a great price. If she allowed them to attack her back, it would be more than just few bumps here and there. But for now, it was all done. The giant phoenix returned to the card without even having time to use it's healing.

And in few seconds, Leila was walking back towards Lilian. "So? What's the description this time?" She smiled with the question, curious about the praise the creature would receive now.

Lilian watched the spectacle go down. The Golden Phoenix member taking out the red phoenix in one fell swoop, it was amazing to the point where Lily couldn't help but clap. After dissolving into the ball of light just like Ifrit did, the name and xard description, as well as the image appeared on the card.

"Eidolon Phoenix. 'An eternal, undying bird. Its tears are rumored to have curative properties, and it is said that he who tastes the Phoenix's blood will have eternal life.'" Lilian read.

"So if this Einherjar isn't real, then where the hell is the actual phoenix? Cuz i think eternal life sounds pretty damn sweet, huh?" Lilian put the card back in the box, and rested the box at her belt like before. She grabbed the spear from the ground, and the three skeletons all vanished, dissolving back into the ground as Lilian returned the spear into Marshmallow's pack. Lilian grabbed Vidofnir, and kept it at her side while mounting Marshmallow.

"I would rather not stay here for a rest, but its your call where we go. We could go take a rest somewhere else, or we can dive straight into the next few enemies." Lilian was pumped to go, however she did have a tendency to over exert herself when in combat. She didn't do much to beat Ifrit, and Phoenix wasn't that hard for Leila to beat. However it looked like the other mage used a few spells during the mix, and if Leila's magic was anything like Lily's magic, then even a few spells wears you out.

OOC: It's your call where we go next. We can rest, go to a cave, go to a forest, or go to a shipwreck. We'll go to the mountain last, as that's where Bahamut resides.

Hearing Lilian's clap, Leila performed an elegant bow in front of her, showing at least some manners.

"Why, thanks you. I'm glad you liked the view." Were her words of thanks.

It was kinda strange to see someone like her using magic to summon skeletons, as that was usually seen as some kind of dark magic... but since they were not used, she didn't think about it too much. For all she knew, those guys could have been more holy than most saints in the world, given how some of these cult things worked. But it didn't take long for the girl to read what was written on the card, bringing some more light on the mystical being they had just defeated.

"Eternal life, huh. It's a blessing that would eventually turn in a curse. But I'm afraid the original might be long gone. Who knows when the cards themselves were created, it's possible that it happened millennials ago."

As far as she knew, those cards were capable of remaining intact as long as they had proper owner. Which they clearly didn't right now, given the fact that all of them went rogue... but their history truly was unknown, unless the elder from before wanted to spills some more beans. And then another choice came. Should their rest, or go and hunt down more of these pests. Leila still felt just fine and Lilian also didn't seem too tired. Looking at the map one more time, she determined that it would be best to keep moving.

"Let's go to a nearby shipwreck. I would love to cool myself down in some cold water after this. And when you get tired, do tell me. I'll give you a lap pillow, that will give you all your energy back right away!"

With a wink and tongue out for a moment, Leila teased Lilian a little bit more before she approach the wavern and waited for the to take off.

Lilian gave a nod once she was told about the shipwreck. So once Leila got on behind Lilian, Lilian put the spear in her pack next to the dark lance, and took off.

Flying lower this time, but still above the treeline, Lilian didn't want to encounter Bahamut yet again in the midst of fighting. As she went towards the ocean, the wyvern passed over the crater from the previous blast. It was massive, and the trees around the crater were snapped in half or worse. Lilian didn't want to imagine what happened to the poor wildlife.

The trio soon saw the shipwreck. It was near the shore, and the primary part of the boat didn't seem too destroyed. Everything else there was destroyed.

Landing now, Lilian waited for a massive being to appear, but instead she just saw a normal ol' woman. Grey hair, wearing an orange skirt and a red shirt. She waved to the group and spoke aloud.

"I'm so glad you guys could make it. Now, show me if you are the heroes to save this island from my bretheren, okay?" The woman got surrounded in a white light, and soon the sihlouette of a massive being began to arise. This one was roughly the same size as Ifrit, without the massive muscles. instead, it had five massive blades, and six human-sized circular things with symbols in them. It looked more demonic than it did a second ago, but Lilian did like how it at least resembled a human.

"I am the eidolon Amaterasu."

"If you defeat me, you may save this island."

"My death will cause others' life!"

"Amaterasu like the god of the sun!? That old man KILLED the god of the sun and TRAPPED IT IN A CARD!?" H-How!? Oh... Okay then, guess we gotta fight it. Leila, wanna fight it together? It seems to be around the same strength as Phoenix, but it has slightly more magic power." Lilian readied her spear, and stayed atop Marshmallow.

OOC: Amaterasu is a B Rank Grand Summon (i bought extra spell slots). She melee attacks by waving and throwing around those five massive blades, and those little ball thingies emit electricity. Amaterasu can position them wherever she wants, except they must be on the ground. Amaterasu's active ability Worldmaker is a grey and white blast of light energy that looks very much like the Kamehameha on steroids, and deals 1.5 B Rank damage.

The way to the wreck was surprisingly fast. It was quite amazing how fast this wyvern was, and perhaps even more amazing that it was tamed. But of course noticing something like that only now was just way too late. Perhaps she would have time to ask Lilian few questions later, but right now it would most likely just unnecessarily distract them.

Once they arrived, Leila looked around. It was quite surprising how big this place actually was and that no one removed it yet. It was true that they were around thunder island, dangerous place that normal people avoided to the best of their abilities... but still, the fact that there was not a single brave soul that would remove this wreck from the waters was quite surprising.

And what was even more surprising was the fact that there was seemingly another human. Though her actual appearance made it clear for Leila who quickly realized that she wasn't actually a human being. No old lady would be able to get to this place after all. And it didn't take too long for her to transform either. Amaterasu was their next opponent.

"I don't think that's how these guys work... it's not that the old man killed the originals. All he had to do was copy them and leave them be. So unless he's some legend I don't know about, the true goddess is probably still out there somewhere. Doesn't mean that this one will be weak though."

Answering Lilian, Leila also assumed fighting stance with her bow. And the moment teamwork was suggested, she fired. The arrow was fast, too fast for Amaterasu to actually block it. Of course it didn't actually do any damage... but the seal was now placed on her, completely removing her defenses.

"Alright then! Bud damn... why flaming blades?!"

Lilian flew into the air, charging at the fake goddess. Soon a fiery blade flew at Lilian, with such percision that it would have struck her directly in the chest not even hitting Marshmallow. Lilian deflected the blade with her lance, which caused a chip in Vidofnir. The durability weakened, but the damage didn't.

The blade that was deflected stuck into the ground, but only for a second. As Lilian was about to stab the being, the sword came from behind her and slashed her in the back, causing her to scream and fall off of marshmallow, whom proceeded to bit the ever living crap out of Amaterasu's arm. The flat of the sword soon knocked Marshmallow over and caused the wyvern to fall atop Lilian, causing the woman to groan in pain. Five out of seven fiery blades flew at Marshmallow and Lilian, while the other two began to fly at Leila. Amaterasu seemed to have complete control over each of the blades, despite them not being connected to her.

As the massive blades flew at the pair, a magic circle appeared below Marshmallow, and soon its wings glowed a bright white color. It zoomed past, with Lilian in her arms, as the five blades pierced the ground. Lilian was dropped by the end of the boat, where she felt the blood go down her back while Amaterasu was distracted by Leila hopefully. She noticed something - Her lance was missing AGAIN! She activated another spell, when a blue magic circle appeared below her. She waved her arm, and a blue blade of ice flew and struck Amaterasu's back. The pseudo-goddess began to separate the orbs with the symbols on them, one heading for Lilian. Immediately thinking that might not be the best thing to be near, she flew up, hoping to be able to get her spear back without getting killed.

Everything just had to have flames in some form or another. But thankfully it did seem like this goddess would not be able to last all that long, especially with her own buffs still working their magic. It placed that confident smug on Leila's face, readying her to take down this little annoyance. Not to mention that Lilian once again amazingly charged against their enemy, fearlessly trying to attack. Though it wasn't all good this time around, as she suffered a hit. That made Leila angry as well. And now, two of those blades were heading for her as well.

"Damn!" Shouting that one singular world, she started running towards the blades. And just as the first one was about to make contact, she transformed into a gust of wind again, leaving behind nothing more than few leaves that were burned away by the flying weapon. That was one successfully dodged. As for the second one, it was apparent that Ammy tried a different approach, slashing the weapon vertically at the girl. Waving her hands in front of her body, she created two small trees that flew in the way of the sword, temporarily stopping it. If it was just a normal sword, that would be probably enough to get it stuck there for a moment. But the flames made her spell weaker and eventually, the flaming blade managed to get through the fragile barrier and hit the ground.

At least it was slowed down enough for Leila to roll away. Unsure of where Lilian was, it was probably the best time to attack back, end it quickly again. Thing was, she had already used her free forming abilities to create that stop that attack just now. Trying to use it for attack as well, just like she did with the phoenix, would simply put too much strain on her body. She had to use another spell. And there was one... but it was slow. Thankfully it didn't seem that Ammy was exactly moving around too much with that giant body of hers.

Two equally huge trees started forming around the goddess, preparing to attack. The only problem was that one of the electro balls managed to find it's way towards the Eden's wizard while she was focusing. And with few zaps, pain started surging through her body, burning her from the inside. At least it wasn't enough to actually interrupt the spell she was preparing, and now she was ready to use it.

The two summoned trees suddenly wrapped around the card demon, squeezing her tightly. And with the rage Leila was experiencing from being shocked, she made it extremely powerful this time around. As a powered up B-ranked spell, it was enough to literally split that giant into two pieces that disappeared in the same light as all others, making the balls and blades go away at the same time. The fight was over.

Though both of the girls clearly needed some time to catch their breath. It was apparent that their enemies were getting stronger by the minute. In order to repair some of the damage taken, Leila started drawing out magic from her armor, healing her wounds to the best of it's abilities before heading over to Lilian.

"Are you alright? That hit looked painful... I could try to have a look, though I'm no healer..."

Lilian saw the Eidolon go down in one fell swoop, thankfully since her back stung worse than a jellyfish and an eel making out. Floating down to the ground... Er, the floor of the boat, Lilian walked over to the goddess and saw the same thing as before occur, the name, picture, and description appearing.

"Eidolon Amaterasu - the goddess of the sun, the fires from her blades both create worlds and destroy them." Lilian read, and stored the deck away. Now, Leila walked over to Lilian, askimg to see her wound. Now that she realized it, the blade split her armor directly in half, so Lilian just ditched the two pieces of her chestplate and dropped them on the floor.

Turning around, Lilian showed her back to Leila. The sword cut straight through her shirt, and into her skin. The cut was deep, but the flames of the blade caused the blood flow to stop, luckily. "It hurts like crazy, but I'm fine. Everything works just like it always has."

Lilian turned around and scratched Marshmallow's chin. "Whoo, you saved our lives there girl! I can't thank you enough." Marshmallow screeched in delight, while Lilian walked over to her spear and stored it away in Marshmallow's pack, then sat down on the bare floor.

"Great work team, but I'm hurt and in dire need of a bite to eat. Let's stop here for now, kay?" She reached into Marshmallow's pack and grabbed a bag of travel mix and an apple. Tossing the bag over to Leila, she munched on the apple happily. Marshmallow let out a roar, then flapped its wings and went out to the ocean. Lilian knew the wyvern would be back, it was hungry along with Lilian, they shared pain, vitality, and hunger. The wyvern, while not physically wounded, felt the same pain from the wound Lilian got, and was just as hungry as her.

Lilian commanded as the leader of this time she made herself into and decided that they should all take a little time out. It certainly wasn't a bad idea, all things considered. Especially since she was actually hurt. And Leila would be too if not for her quite amazing outfit. In the end, it was worth it to sink her fortune to get it.

Approaching the girl as she thanked the wyvern and removed the plates from her body, she took closer look at the wound itself. As she said, she was no healer, but at she was able to help a little bit. It took her few moments to search all of the pockets that her attire had, but she eventually found what she was looking for.

A cream made out of herbs, made by herself some time back. It would not help with healing the wound, but it had calming properties and should make the pain go away in manner of few second. It was no miracle, but it was something.

"This might feel a bit cold against the burned skin, but try to bear with it. I will make it much easier for you."

Hopefully Lilian had nothing against it and remained still in order for the cream to be applied to the wound. And once that was done, Leila hid it withing her pockets once more and sat down as well, ready to rest for a little bit. Even if she was still more than capable of continuing, it was important not to exhaust yourself before you approach the final boss!

"Afraid I don't have anything that would help you satisfy hunger I'm afraid. So that one is on you. And while we're here... just who are?"

It probably sounded like a weird question. But honestly, all that Leila knew about Lilian was her name, the weapon she used and that she had a pet wyvern. And that was about it. Surely there was some reason she found herself in this place, some story behind her that would provide more of a concrete idea about her character. But of course there were people that didn't like sharing info of that kind, and if she was one of them, Leila would not pry.

When the cream was placed over her burnt wound, Lilian tensed. It was a bit colder than she expected, but it'd ease the pain so she beared with it. Soon the pain faded, and Lilian took another munch out of her apple.

"I only brought an apple and trail mix because Marshmallow eats a lot. Some times I'll eat a full dinner, and Marshmallow is still hungry, so she goes out and eats a LOT of fish. I wake up sick in the morning!" She joked, then took another bite of the apple.

"As for who I am, well I'm a simple country girl with big dreams. I wanna be the hero everyone talks about, reads about in a hundred years, I want epics written about me, that kinda thing. But don't get me wrong, I am always going to do the good of the people, even if no one acknowledges me. The good of the people comes before the good of me, of course. But other than that, I come from a long line of wyvern riders. Each one got their own wyvern right off of the mountain, myself included. I was only ten years old then... Marshmallow gave me this giant scar thay day, ah good times." Lilian reminiced on all her old, fun times with the wyvern. She lay back onto her arms, and stared at the sky. This seemed to be a lucky spot with only one einherjar in it, so it was an ideal spot for a rest.

"So, Mizz Leila, what are your origins? I assume you aren't just staying on Thunder Island all the time, no?"

Leila did everything she could do help her partner, but now it was just up to her own healing abilities. But by the looks of it, everything should be fine. She was a mage after all, and those had mostly pretty sturdy bodies. Some were even like immovable fortresses.

Listening to the girl's story, Leila couldn't help but sigh a little. "A hero, huh? Well, you have a lot of competition these days."

After all, there was even person who had Hero in his name in Golden Phoenix, Leila's guild. Most legal mages were chasing after that same dream, to be recognized and be called heroes. But while something like that was quite common, different people wanted it for different reasons. Some were genuinely trying to help, others simply wanted the fame. And she had no right to label either as bad. It was simply something she had seen many times before throughout her life, eventually leading to her questioning morale of heroes and such. But it would be most inappropriate to bring something like that up now, so she stayed silent about the matter.

"But it must be nice to have a companion like that, loyal and fierce. Someone that can be practically called family..." Saying those words reminded her of how lonely she actually was these days. But just like before, she didn't want to bring something like that up, as it would not be very appropriate.

And then came the nearly identical question from Lilian. It was pretty obvious that she would ask, and yet, Leila didn't really have much of an answer. At least for how she phrased it.

"My origins, huh? Yup, that's a question I would love to know answer for." With a sad laugh, she nervously started playing with her long and unusual silver hair.

"I suppose you could simply say that I'm a traveling wizard, belonging to the guild named Golden Phoenix. I just kinda found myself on the island, since I heard that the place is interesting and all. Wanted to see it with my own hands and when nothing interesting was happening, I took a nap... and then I woke up to this mess. But at least it is exciting, just as I was promised!" She smiled in the end, indicating that everything was fine.

There just wasn't much to her goals right now... she was where adventure was. And that was about it, just wandering aimlessly for now, completing contracts to earn herself the occasional jewel. Even after receiving that grand title of Rising Star, that did not change in the slightest. She was sill nothing more than a glorified vagabond. A little bit of a disappointing answer in all honesty.

Responding quickly to the statement about her having a bit of competition, Lilian's face didn't harden, but just darkened a bit.

"My only competition is me, myself, and I. If you are referring to those 'Heroes' in light guilds that everyone talks about, they aren't my competition. Think about it: All of their actions don't reflect on them, but instead their guild. Have you heard about Fairy Tail becoming dark? Well yeah, the Council didn't deem the individuals dark, just the whole guild. The council didn't think about the members that were pure of heart, the true heroes, they thought about the whole guild. That's why I stick alone, you haven't seen a guild tattoo on me, have ya? I'm without a guild, so that people can see the exploits of a single hero, not the exploits of a person working for her guild." Lilian listened to the explanation of why she was on the island and the fact that Leila belongs to a guild called Golden Phoenix. Lilian had never heard of that guild before, but if the members were anything like Leila, it'd be a cool place to be. Not that Lilian was planning on joining a guild any time soon, but she did note that it sounded fun. Marshmallow returned, stuffed. It had probably eaten a truck's worth of fish, because Lilian doubled over suddenly and felt like she wanted to vomit.

"What did you eat, Levaithan? Anyways, where does Milady over here wish to go next? We can't take too long of a rest."

Cave or Forest, your call.

Watching how Lilian's face turned a tad bit sinister and her voice didn't stop for a second until she was completely finished sure added to her impression of this girl. Apparently there was more to her than she showed at first! But that was only good, as it was mighty boring when people only had one single side to them, following it to the ends of this world. Complexity is where all the fun hides!

"Alright, you can be a little creepy as well! Neat! And, actually, I met plenty of guildless people with the same goal as you, some of them not even being capable of using magic. So I repeat myself, you still might have a little bit of competition."

Waving her hand in the air, Leila stretched. It was funny, she said that her origins and stuff were unknown, but she never really stated all of her goals. So with this speech Lilian just had, it would be easy to pretend being insulted. After all, she was from a guild, so she would fall into that category she was talking about. And technically she was considered a hero, given the fact that she had the position of rising star, something that only mages with heroic actions receive. Though in her case, she just kinda happened to be doing jobs that needed to be taken care of for normal people to continue living in peace. Not for the fame, but mostly for the physical rewards. Because jewels were the best!

About where to go next, she took out the map again and started scanning it once more with her curious gaze. Still three places left, meaning at least three or possibly six more enemies. This sure was fun.

"What about the cave? Sounds really damp and stuff... I'd rather leave the forest for later, forests are nice..." And with that, it was easily decided without any real effort put into it. Just like always.

Lilian breathed out sarcastically, not wanting to say what she was thinking. She wasn't to be compared with other guildless mages, she didn't want to be compared to others at all. She wasn't in a faction, she was alone. Even if they were more guildless people out there, they weren't paired up. When you aren't paired up you can be looked at for yourself for the first time. But that was enough of those thoughts, Lilian didn't want to be negative, positive was key!

So it was the cave that was next, and Lilian nodded to that. She hopped on her wyvern and waited for Leila, then took off. The fly didn't last long, as the cave was right next to the deep forest, but the cave itself was shrouded in a little thicket. Lilian hopped off of the wyvern's back and began walking forward, until she noticed the terrain.

THERE WERE GEMS EVERYWHERE.

There were blue gems, orange gems, green gems, all protruding from the ground. Perhaps they haven't been mined yet? Was something keeping people from.... Oh yeah

Lilian continued forward with Leila, admiring the surroundings. The entire cave seemed to be blue , white, or grey. She pointed to a giant open space that she could see, and there was a light coming from it.

When the two got in the clearing, a loud laugh... Well more of a giggle... Could be heard. Then, a humongous body, certainly humanoid, flew down. She had blue skin, and a chilling aura flew around her. And she had... Nearly no clothing. Lilian quickly turned around and covered her eyes, while Marshmallow roared in her own battle preparation. Lilian, still keeping her left hand over her eyes, used her right to grab her black and purple spear, and summoned her 3 skeletons.

"Leila, you took a purposeful time out right? Yeah uhm, I'm not fighting someone dressed like THAT! I at least gave you some support, right?"

With that the three skeletons all gave a war rally in unison, and Marshmallow zoomed forward towards the ice witch, Shiva.

OOC: Sorry I haven't posted in a while. I was away for a week.

Shiva is a C rank summon, she has a pasive ice element to her physical attacks, and her active summons an AoE of ice spikes from the ground. 'ave fun.

The conversation didn't continue any further, and perhaps that was for the best. Even if Leila didn't really mean anything of it too seriously, different people took these things on a completely different level. For now, they would simply continue taking down the wild card demons until the entire area would be safe. And that took the priority, so until then, the two of them would be fighting together no matter their differences it morals and opinions.

But at least they were slowly getting to the end of things. Only few more and they would be done with all of this. Though their next location was a big surprise. Following Lilian, Leila too was very surprised by the pretty sighed that greeted them when their feet touched the ground of this cave. And of course, as a proper treasure hunter, Leila got way more excited than her partner. Quickly looking at all the gems from a very close proximity, she was almost drooling all over them. There was no denying it, she loved pretty things. But she loved them even more when there was a good chance of selling them for loads of jewels.

Sadly, these gems had little actual value in that area. Despite how good they were looking, these things were actually pretty common in several larger mines over the Fiore, rendering their cost not worth wasting magic on unearthing them. Oh well, what could they do. If nothing else, Leila at least broke off a little piece of a red gem that was very similar to her most favorite one, Ruby. Hiding it in one of her pockets, she continued walking behind Lilian until they reached the destination. There, another demon of cards would appear.

And this time, the sight was way more pleasant. At least for her, anyway. Lilian seemed to be somewhat embarrassed? And because of that, she was mostly covering her eyes and intending on only lending some help from distance. "Ooh? Don't tell me... do you by any chance find girls attractive? Ehehe, no need to worry, I'll keep that a secret! So even if you're getting aroused by that sight, there is no need to worry!" Being half serious and half joking, it probably didn't exactly help the situation. In any case, they had chance to finish this enemy off quickly. Leila forcefully grabbed one of the summoned skeletons. And started sprinting towards the enemy.

At first, she wanted to throw him at her and see what they do, but she found a different use for him. For as she approached, the ground started freezing, and soon, spikes would rise. Letting go of the skeleton and jumping on his head, she sacrificed him on order to not get injured. And as she soared through the air, her right hand started transforming, the corrupted skin on her hand spreading and eventually turning the whole limb into one giant drill. Of course, it wasn't spinning... but it still looked very threatening! "With the power of Rewriter's gear...!"

One strong punch with the drill was enough to silence those chilling giggles and send the spirit, or whatever it was meant to be, flying. But to Leila's surprise, it was not defeated yet. Perhaps this was a good time to see what those skeletons actually did, if any of them were still active and didn't get destroyed by those spikes from earlier.

"Oh ha ha, you're a jokester, aren't you? I'll assure you I would never back down just for sexual gratification!" Lilian said with closed eyes, waving her hand off at Leila. It wasn't that she was attracted to women, well she wasn't attracted to anyone sexually. She never explored that avenue, so it wasn't that she wasn't attracted to anyone like that, just more so she doesn't really know who to be. This was just a... Weakness? Of hers. She couldn't be near anyone naked or half naked, and she herself couldn't bear to be so in front of others. Would one call it a fear... Lilian guessed so. It brought anxiety to her, not embarassment. That was a fear, as much as she assumed.

While she was lost in thought, Lilian's skeletons, Joshua, Zen, and their leader, Lyon, ran forward. Zen, the silent one, was sacrificed in order to bring Leila safety, and while Joshua didn't like that one bit, Lyon knew Leila was an ally so he calmed his partner. Plus, Zen wasn't really dead, but instead just defeated. Lyon continued forward and jumped, plunging his sword into the incapacitated Shiva's stomach, causing a large scream from the ice witch. She smacked him off of her, and raised herself, weakened to the point of near defeat, however she was permanently silenced when Marshmallow took her talons and slashed her in the chest, creating a large gash. Blood didn't escape, instead Shiva just collapsed, and dissipated into light.

"Hey Milady! The thing is dead! So, should I kill this bitch over here who tried to kill Zen!?" Joshua yelled.

"Joshua! Milady, I apologize for his behavior. We shall leave the rest to you. If you require anymore assistance, don't hesitate to summon us." Lyon bid Lilian farewell, and both skeletons sunk into the ground without a trace.

Lilian walked over to the light, and put the card forward, and the same process repeated. Soon, Lilian read the description.

"Eidolon Shiva. The empress of ice, wreathed in frost. She is known for her signature move, "Diamond Dust", which freezes everything in an instant. Cool I guess, wait wha?"

Lilian was interrupted by a large dark circle appearing in front of her. Out stepped... Well floated... Another Eidolon. A giant black bat beast thing?

"This guy is.. A bit stronger, to say the least. At least judging by his aura... Give us a break, okay!" Lilian was shushed because she had to dodge a swift claw which looked like it could tear her in half. She sighed, and prepped her lance Vidofnir. Lyon and Joshua couldn't be summoned for a while, so their help couldn't be asked for right now. She sighed, then thought of something. She quicjly grabbed a random card from the pack, and showed it to Leila. Amaterasu, luckily, the strongest of the eidolons they fought so far.

"Do you have any idea how to summon these? Our task will only get harder, perhaps help from one could be a bit more beneficiAAAHH!!!" She avoided one more clawed strike then just stored the card away, and whistled for Marshmallow.
