Road fighter tournament! The certainly knew how to make it sound all exciting. But that was to be expected, as they have been doing this for ages now. Leila heard about the even before, few years back when she somehow managed to receive news from Fiore while traveling across entirely different nation. Of course, she still didn’t have her magic at that time and was unable to actually participate, mainly because she would have to cross the borders as well. And her father was very sensitive about it too. But now, she was a powerful A-rank that had just found herself in the guild hall of Golden Phoenix. And there, the letter which was describing how to join the tournament itself. While it was known that no overly powerful warriors were participating, she still wanted to try it at least once. And better now than later, if she was to get even more powerful… they would probably not take kindly to someone just wiping out the stadium with a singular attack of their stronger arsenal. Smirking with confidence, the silver haired maiden made sure that the blue cloak was still firmly attached to her shoulders and started walking towards the portal that lead from Oahu to the surface, the phoenix mountains. From there, it was not too far to the grounds where the fights would be held.

Only few hours atop a horseback managed to get the Eden’s wizard to the Talonia Arena, her destination! Fighters from all over Fiore were already present, visibly preparing themselves. It was quite the spectacle indeed, watching all those muscles and skilled magicians who wanted to become champions of this year. Even people working for the weekly sorcerers magazine were here, giving interviews and taking photos that would increase the number of their readers. Which meant a lot of shirtless men… but strangely, not a single one of the noticed poor Leila, the ex Rising Star. Did that title really mean so little that everyone had already forgotten her? Oh well… nothing that could have been done about that, unfortunately. At least she was here to actually fight and nothing else, giving interviews and such would only distract her from the task at hand! And that was definitely something that should not happen to an experienced wizard like Leila! Of course, her whole personality was kinda one of a person that was rather easy to distract by nearly anything… oh, the cruel fate. But whatever the case, this girl was ready to throw down right away! Which was impossible, as the tournament itself wasn’t going yet. So instead, she just kinda started looking around if she could maybe find someone interesting or spy on her enemies a little bit. After all, in battle knowledge counted just as much as power. And knowing as much as you could about your enemy was very important, as it could easily secure your victory! Weaknesses were not called that for nothing in the end. Hopefully there were not many opponents capable of using flames, as that was something Leila wasn’t exactly dealing well with. Though with her newly found confidence after conquering her land, the Gardens of Eden, she was suddenly able to stand up to any challenge. Even one that involved burning flames that could easily destroy her body and reduce her magic to nothing more than mere ashes of nothingness. And that… that was one scary thought indeed.

    580 words.

Frey had been sneaking away from Fairy Tail's guild hall quite frequently as of late, going off at odd hours of day or night and returning after twentyfour hours had passed at most, though sometimes she was gone for less time. At first it could have been a very alarming thing, to have the guild master’s daughter disappearing so much. Yet the four first generation dragon slayers known to the guild had figured it out quickly enough, namely Hera by sniffing her, and likely spread the word to others. Rune just hoped they had not went running to tell Kanix that she was now a slayer, because she wanted desperately to tell her mother on her own. However telling the older woman she was now the first generation earth dragon slayer, it was something that the child was afraid of doing, considering the identity of the former one was very close to the heart of both mother and daughter. Frey did not want to reopen her mother’s fresh wounds by letting the kind woman know what had happened the first night she vanished for a twelve hour span, telling her mother that she now occupied a position once only held by her father. “FREY! Pay attention.” the little girl was broken out of her thought’s jolting, sitting up and almost falling from the branch she was sitting on. Who had spoken to her in a deep gruff man's voice? Well that would be the living pile of moss covered rocks adorned with leaf wing’s, branch talons and branch antlers, flowers growing here and there. Hemlock. Every first generation slayer had their dragon, and this was her’s, the one who had made her a slayer only barely weeks before. “I’m sorry Hemlock, I’m just worried about my mother.” she had come out here to train with him, but most of their training sessions seemed to involve him convincing her to clear her head for the time she was with him. “Well it’s alright, I just wanted to let you know about this today. Your to go enter child, you have to experience battle.” the dragon pushed an object towards her, a piece of paper that she picked up from his antlers.

That had taken place this morning, on his command she’d eaten a few cookies made of earth and then left, and she now held that piece of paper between her hands tightly, having just arrived in the right town. According to her dragon? She had to endure a battle with Fairy Tail there to protect her, so he could evaluate her skills accurately. Also no she did not bring a giant earth dragon with her, instead the drake would clearly see through the two foot tall drake plush matching his appearance, that the tiny girl was carrying and would leave on the sidelines so she would not feed off her mentor’s magic. It was a gift and also his way of keeping an eye on his chosen slayer while she learned. “....” the child was crying right now thought, emptying her guts into a trash can, since she had just gotten off the train, she had never been warned that motion sickness was part of the deal. Thus she was bending over a trash can with her entry flier clutched tightly in her small hand, her other hand holding her hair back so she would get nothing on it, her plush on the ground beside her. Clearly the child was frightened.

While scouting for whatever enemies she could encounter on the battlefield today, Leila heard... some strange noises coming from afar to say the least. But at first, she payed them no mind at all, as she brushed it all off as someone's weird training. It wouldn't be the first case of that, as many champions and such had really strange training routines in order to keep their bodies strong, their mind clear and their magic in check. She herself had little in the way of actual training, she always just kinda got stronger in battle itself. Perhaps because that was the absolutely best method of getting stronger, one that forced you to not make a single mistake lest you could lose your life as a whole. Or perhaps she was just growing stronger as her connection with the Gardens of Eden grew? If that was the case, then she was just a tiny bit of a cheater, not really having to do all that much in order to gain her powers. Of course, she still had her share of problems with the otherworldly dimension where many problems brewed, but it still meant that she did not have to spend hours upon hours making her body and soul stronger through any means necessary. In this way, many of the other contestants would probably envy her quite a bit, so she had to make sure no one would find out. Not that this was a problem or anything, no other living soul really knew this fact, unless someone close to her managed to figure it all out. Jiyu was the first one on that list, but who really knew... even if she did know this fact, would it change anything at all? Probably not. And so the silver haired girl continued walking around, trying to figure out when exactly does the tournament even start.

And then she heard it again. Really... uncomfortable sounds that were not so far anymore. Feeling a bit concerned about what in the world was making all that ruckus, she started following the direction she heard all of it from. Many things went through her head as to what she could possibly find at her new destination... intruders trying to cancel the arena battles, robbers or maybe invasion of giant insects? Yeah, she even included some weird ones in there. But she would have never imagined that she would find a child kneeling down in front of a trash can, vomiting profusely. That certainly was not a pretty sight... and she seemed to be alone as well, not a single soul around trying to help her. Where in the world were her parents at a time like this? Well, there was really not time to be answering those questions. Getting closer to the small figure, she tried to gently tap her on one of the shoulders as she spoke, getting down on her knees next to her as well.

"Hey... are you alright? Is there any way I can help you with... uh... your situation?"

The Eden's mage really wanted to help, but she was no healer. She had no idea how to help someone who felt sick to their stomach, all she could do is try to console her as she now even saw tears in her eyes. What a poor little thing, left alone here like some drunkard who had just a bit too much last night in the bar. A little princess like that should never be in an image like this one, ever.

"It's okay, I'll stay here with you. So just let it all out, you'll be fine afterwards, I'm sure of that."

Were her words helping at all? Well, she had zero idea. She could only wait for the girl's response while she tried to scoot over a bit, making sure that she was not obstructing the dragon plushy toy that was sitting there with them as well. It was clearly something that belonged to the child and Leila knew very well how the young ones could get very attached to these objects. Making it so that she would not be able to see the toy from her angle, it would really just make things worse for sure.

She seriously despised her dragon mentor for what was happening right now, part of her wanted to shove the doll near her into the trash after she was done, just to spite Hemlock, because he should have damn well told her about this! Frey knew she was healthy, and this had never happened before, the only change was her conversion into a dragon slayer, the enchantment that Hemlock had placed upon her. Thus this was entirely the dragon’s fault, for making her agree to not bring silver along. If she had been atop the back of her friend on the way here? Rune was certain she would have been alright, but instead here she was, miserably throwing her guts up into a trash clan, utterly alone even knowing the drake was watching her through the doll, he could do nothing to intervene without causing panic in the village, so she knew he wouldn’t. The whole reason the earth dragon had stated for taking her on as his slayer? Was because of the way she was gentle, didn’t want to hurt him by mistake, so he wouldn’t just scare people for something like this. Still, she was bitter, the child did not like being alone, in fact it was one of the things she hated first. Frey had no real desire to be some strong stand alone mage! The little girl only wanted the thing’s she was robbed of when her birth mother left her there. Yet she was still training to be one of the first generation dragon slayers, some of the most powerful mages around in certain regards. The little girl blocked everything out of her head, finishing upheaving into the trash, feeling the sensation fade and vanish entirely, as if this whole cursed scene had not actually truly happened.

“I’m Fine Now.” the little girl pushed herself away from the can, forcing herself to her feet without much trouble now that the motion sickness was fading. Frey took the sleeve of her brown hoodie, wiping it against her mouth to remove all traces of what had just happened, eyes returning to what children normally appeared like, smile coming back to her face. At least now she was happy the tournament allowed no equipment and thus forced her to dress different from normal, since her daily outfit was equipment from her old village. So today she wore sneakers, pink jeans, a white shirt and the brown hoodie which was half zipped. “It was just a fluke thing, so you don’t think I’m sick or something, perfectly healthy, it just kinda happened.” even though normally throwing up did not just happen. While a good deal of her guild knew she was a slayer? Frey had actually never asked Hemlock if it was alright to tell other people about it! So she didn’t want to tell this girl that the reason for her episode had been the motion sickness that must plague all dragon slayers. If this girl figured it out on her own, it was fine, but she wouldn’t just reveal it for no reason.

Suddenly she seemed kinda worried again, green eyes casting to her doll as she picked up the large object, holding it to her chest, sighing out. “But I lost a lot of time throwing up.” she mentioned it as she looked at her entry flier again, wondering what her mentor would think if she missed the tournament. Not an option. Frey looked up to the older woman in front of her, turning the flier around so Leila could see what it entailed. “Do you know any shortcuts to the location.” she could always ask someone for help if she was lost, it was nothing shameful in that, right? Plus she’d rather take direction than let her dragon down. “I’m entering the tag team division.” her dragon mentor was slightly worried about her safety, so he had made it clear she was not to enter the one on one’s, so she’d have someone to protect her if things went too wrong. However if nothing went to the wayside, she was suppose to rely on her parnter little as possible, so the drake could evaluate her properly, figure out where she needed the most training. “I doubt Hemlock will be happy if I miss the contest because I got a little sick to my stomach.” even though her getting sick was the stupid dragon’s fault to begin with! If he had let Silver bring here to this place, the issue never would have happened. However the wolf was brooding at the guildhall, having been forced to stay behind for this one. “So I need to find a way over to it quick, to make sure I get in.” she brushed off her jean’s from where she had been kneeling, reaching into her pocket and taking another ‘cookie’ while it looked like a normal chocolate chip cookie, the item was actually dirt and charcoal, earth. Not that she knew why Hemlock had suggested she eat the ground. All Frey knew? Was that now the ground and anything earthy was extremely delicious.  Even leaves.

Leila knew all to well how being alone felt. And even despite that, she traveled places mostly alone these days simply to get used to a little bit of loneliness. She got a bit too attached to humans and their presence, which was good in one way, but also bad in another. If one was too used to having others around them, it would be hard to get separated. And on the rank she was now, she could not allow herself to be distracted and distressed every single time something happened to a member of her team. So here she was, trying to take on this whole tournament utterly alone. Not that it would be that hard, she still remembered all those days that she spent traveling across this continent. And while that was alongside her father, there were many times when she found herself alone for longer periods of time. Not to mention that the mechanical doll was... not exactly all that social. Machias were simply not meant to be like humans, able to socialize all that well. And despite that, the golem had taken care of the human girl as if she was his own daughter for reasons that not many would understand. But that was all in the past, now was the present! And Leila had to focus on it no matter what happened. And right now, there was this sweet looking little girl in front of her, a child that probably came to watch the tournament. Many youngsters were interest in this kind of thing, cheering on their favorite contestant. Would there be anyone at all in the crowds that would be cheering the Eden's mage on? Probably not... which was a little sad, but oh well. Not everything can be perfect. Though that thinking quickly changed when the girl mentioned that she wanted to enter the tournament, not just watch as it unfolds... that certainly was... something. Raising her eyebrow in a questioning manner, the silver haired woman started eyeing the girl in front of her, analyzing her appearance and all that. From what she was wearing... she looked pretty normal. And while her looks as whole might have been a little bit different from the norm, there really wasn't all that much to indicate her talent as a wizard.

"Well, glad you're feeling okay at least. About shortcuts... I honestly don't think there even are any, darling. But I could get us to the front gate pretty quick, if that's what you want. I probably shouldn't miss the start either, the way here was a pretty long one."

Looking around for a little bit, Leila suddenly smirked and took another look at the girl in front of her. It was cute, the way she was clinging to that doll of hers. But the thing she said... there was a little something about it. Probably the fact that she was completely alone here, while she said that she would be entering the team division. Something like that, it didn't really happen at random. You had to bring a partner with you, who was willing. Pairing up with a complete stranger before the start... well, it was possible. But everyone else who was interested in participating in that part of the event, they already had someone they could trust besides them. So either this girl's teammate was gone somewhere, or she didn't quite get that information. In both cases, they really had to hurry up and get there already. Creating a smaller tree that was completely bending at least 90 degrees to the side, Leila jumped on top of it and extended her hands towards the green-haired child.

"I don't really know where your partner is, but if you want, just hop on! I'll transport us the arena in few seconds top!"

Whatever else they had to talk about, it could wait until they were there. And if she decided to climb atop the Eden express, Leila started moving her spell and the tree would grow in extremely fast speed, moving the two of them through the entire place and only ending once they were at their destination where the bent tree would start to slowly dissolve. Funny, she wanted to look around and see skills of other people, but she ended up showcasing her powers to everyone else instead. Not that it was that much of a problem. Now to just enter and everything would be done. The question was, what about the little one? Well, there probably was only one thing she could say to the squirt right now.

"If you don't have a partner, I could try to go with you. I planned to tackle the solo fights, but hey... it's all the same in the end!"

Leila was right when she assumed that the child standing before her was no extremely powerful wizard. Right now? She was quite weak for what she could become if given time to grow up. Frey was just beginning as a wizard, barely understanding anything about the world she was in. It was nice to know the other girl was happy to know she was alright, but the little girl had no reason to think beyond that, because she was far too simple and regarded the silver haired girl before her as a stranger. “My name is Frey.” she didn’t want to be called like a child this whole time, if she ever saw this mage again, she did not just want to be some random little kid. Nope, Frey wanted to be realized as the mature little girl she was! Heck it was impressive someone of her young age had even gotten this far on their own, but she had done it and seemed entirely unafraid of doing so, because it showed she was grow up, one of the other’s she loved being around. “Missing the start would be very bad.” This would only serve it’s purpose if she could go through the whole event! Hemlock couldn’t judge her abilities from simply half a fight, it just was not possible. Thus, taking the other girl’s hand was no question, she did it without second thought, leaping up to stand beside her easily. “Thank you.” it was what you should say when someone aided you.

When Leila’s tree dissolved it would be the first hint the eden mage had at something actually making this mage a capable fighter. If something vanished from under them? Most children would face plant and cry, however when she fell, Frey simply stood back up and brushed herself off as if she hadn’t felt it. Instead of responding to her own fall? The female went and finished off the special cookie she had been nomming on, not realizing the effect these thing’s could later have on her, only knowing that Hemlock had told her to keep eating the cookies or whatever struck her fancy, even while she was fighting. Why he would want her distracted by eating while she fought? Was beyond the little girl, but she was obeying him, never ceasing in eating the cookies she had been given, and remembering to basically be a glutton while she did this whole event. So the child took another cookie from her pocket, already having climbed to fifteen percent by doing this, but not knowing she had achieved anything or that she could achieve anything by eating her slayer element. Frey just behaved like a good girl, and nommed on her little cookie, holding her doll in the other arm, the tail of it dragging along the ground due to her being so short.

“You may be my partner.” such a cocky little child, wasn’t she? The little girl looked up at the older mage, realizing she would be a good contestant to protect her if something went wrong during this, so there was no harm in accepting the proposal. “Honestly it was a concern, thanks for offering yourself.” she talked awfully mature for such a small girl, but some children were just more like grown up’s sometimes, Rune still seemed like an utter child due to her dress, appearance, doll and cookies. Clearly? This was just a very mature six year old. “Hemlock did kinda spring this on me during out training this morning, he wants to see what I can do before continuing lessons.” and the dragon chose this battlefield to be the play place where he’d see what the slayer he was raising up could accomplish with her current power! The little girl walked over to stand beside Leila, looking up at the other girl. “What’s your name? And adults are supposed to lead the way when in a child’s presence.” her hand moved, the cookie in it pointing to the entry gate, small smile on her face as she adjusted her doll slightly, shifting it so the tail of her toy lay over her shoulder. “Let’s go!” despite her prior maturity she seemed to be getting hyper now, it was only slight, but it was definitely something notable to those around her. However Frey remained in place, she wouldn’t move until Leila did, because that was how children should behave. “It looks like a lot of people will be watching.” the comment was made as she spotted people entering the observers part of the stadium, one with a tail and orange tips to her hair drawing the child’s gaze the most. “So let’s do well.” the little girl did not want embarrassed in front of that many people

It was both nice and a bit disconcerting that this girl named Frey trusted Leila so easily. What if she was some sort of twisted kidnapper? Well, that was probably just her 'big sister' persona speaking, truth was probably completely different. They were near an arena after all, despite her looks, Frey indeed was a wizard and had magic inside of her. It's not that she was careless... or perhaps it was? Whatever the case, she was probably more than capable of defending herself, possibly even having some sort of system where someone else would rush to her aid if something terrible was to happen. Or maybe Frey was just strong enough to defeat anyone who would try to harm her, though it didn't quite seem like that was the case, judging by the level of magic Leila felt inside of her body. In any case, they got to the arena rather quickly thanks to her abilities and now they just had to sign up. It was as simple as that. Even her proposal was accepted by the little green haired girl and the way she said it made Leila chuckle. Thankfully she wasn't the type of person that would get mad at a child for talking like that at all. Instead, she took a step back and made an elegant bow in front of Frey, the one you would perform at a court while facing the queen or princess.

"It pleases me greatly that you find me good enough to accompany you in the upcoming battles, miss Frey. I will do my best to perform adequately to not disappoint you in the slightest! That is my sword duty!"

Playing the white knight that was to protect his beloved, the Eden's mage actually enjoyed this little show of hers quite a bit. It has been a while since she got the chance to just fool around and be herself, not restricted by stress or expectations of others. It really was nice, this whole situation. And after that, Frey softened up a bit, actually saying that she was slightly afraid of not getting a right partner, or no partner at all. Which meant that she really was here alone and there was no one to accompany her that she would actually personally know. Quite strange indeed, this girl was. She also mentioned this Hemlock multiple times now, which clearly indicated that he was some sort of tutor for this girl. It actually made Leila a bit mad, thinking about him... simply because he seemed really strict and maybe even a bit cruel, sending his disciple to a place like this while she's still so young. But on the other side, it was probably to prepare her for the cruelty of the real world, where it no longer is games and fun all the time. Every child had to grow up eventually and Leila simply wished that this kid would still get to play around innocently for a while before that time came for her. Of course then she managed to say something that kinda embarrassed the Eden's mage. How exactly did she manage to forget introductions? Who knew, her head was just too high up in the clouds and she had to focus on the reality a bit more.

"Ah, sorry... name's Leila Vergious. Just a simple traveling mage from Gol-" "Next!"

The man who was in charge of registering the teams managed to easily interrupted whatever the silver haired maiden was about to say, as they had to step forward and confirm that they were together and willing to fight. So Leila did just that! Putting her name on the list, she let Frey to the same and then she entered the arena itself. Looking the same way as her new partner, she had a strange feeling that she saw a bit of familiar orange in the crowd? Her eyes were not enhanced like those of a dragon slayer or someone with unnaturally good vision... but she could have sword that she saw a familiar face in there. But... that surely could not be, what would SHE be doing in here? Well, in any case... Leila had to make sure she would put on a good show in front of a public this big. And this was a good chance to try out her new abilities as well!

It appeared that their first opponents would be two guys, Wyvern and Masters. Kinda odd as names went, but hey... they were free to call themselves whatever they wanted. Apparently they were also some kind of rivals and friends, but now they were working together as a team, at least according to the announcer who was speaking right now before the battle itself would begin. Leila was already excited to start... and she intended on following the words that her partner said. She would lead the way alright, maybe even defeating at least one of them before Frey could start fighting! Not that she wanted to leave her behind in the dust... she was just too excited to be waiting for anyone! And she was kinda used to working with people on the same level as her, so she wasn't all that good with holding back yet. Not very big sister-like from her at all, huh. As the bell rang, she immediately shot from the spot she was standing at, aiming straight at Wyvern. And as she was running, she snapped her fingers, feeling the black tattoo beneath her clothes disappear. And instead of it, eight black balls of mass appeared behind her back in circular formation. It seemed that the opponent didn't want to be just attacked and her prepared his stance, something that you would only see a professional doing. He was watching Leila's movements carefully and wanted to counter them as best as he could. And the moment the girl was at striking range? Her performed his attack, trying to uppercut her. One of his famous moves called Dragon Fist! And for a second, it actually looked like his fist connected with Leila. Only for him to find out that all he managed to punch was air that suddenly replaced her body, as she teleported behind him.

"Too bad~ Now it's my turn slowpoke!"

All of the eight balls suddenly started distancing themselves from Leila's back, hitting Wyvern from behind at full force as at the same time, a giant spike-like root shot out from the ground where the girl was standing just moments ago. Like this, the poor man was attacked from both sides at the same time with rather painful attacks, both knocking him up and sending him flying into the air. Getting hit by two A ranked attacks at once was probably enough for him to loose consciousness before he managed to hit the ground. So now Leila watched what her partner would do about Masters.

Frey had to take care of herself mostly even with a village raising her, it did not substitute a true parent who would tuck you in at night. Even if she now had that? The maturity from when she had not possessed such a family, it was still part of her. Plus if she was ever in life threatening danger the little girl had faith her dragon mentor would intervene, he wasn’t much to help when there was a way she could do something herself, but she couldn’t see the gentle drake just letting someone kill her. Thus the little girl felt fairly safe wherever she was, so long as she could still visibly see the plushie that hemlock had gifted her with at their first meeting. So long as she had that, nothing felt too difficult. “So long as you don’t cause me to embarrass myself during the fight! I don’t want to do extra training after this because I make a fool of myself here.” the female spoke up, smiling at the other one’s antics, feeling warm. Being treated like a princess was any little girl's dream, so this one was quite happy with the way Leila spoke and moved. Being the center of attention was something such a child never had any issue with! “If you're so knightly why don’t you have a sword.” she asked the question as they were allowed to enter the stadium, eyes glancing up at the older woman.

The fighting was about to begin, this was it and the little girl became nervous again, taking a deep breath to try and calm herself. While the other’s prepped in their own ways, she went to the side lines and set down her doll, careful to pick a place where it’s earthy brown eyes could see the whole field, since Hemlock could only see what it saw. Once she had the doll placed, the little girl ran back over to Leila, sneaker’s kicking up dust as she hurriedly ate another cookie, turning around to wave at her mentor which really looked like she was waving at the crowd behind her, since no one would think she was waving at her doll. Any moment now, her first evaluation by the dragon would begin, and this would determine how he taught her until he decided it was time to evaluate her again. She stood there, simply listening to everything going on in the crowd, and the announcers loud voice. Delaying the start if the fight did not seem smart to the child, it just made the crowd anxious and gave both fighter’s unfair upper hands if they could evaluate the physical form of their opponent. When they did call the start of the fight, Rune was shocked with how fast her partner moved, the swift way she made her way across the field, took care of her opponent. Apparently she was teamed with a stronger mage than she had expected, she’d have to try harder to get hemlock to admire her work.

Masters had went right for the little girl while her partner was busy with his own ally, never suspecting such a young child could put up any sort of fight against him. The large bully opened with the same attack his partner entered into the arena with, Dragon Fist, rushing the little girl and he had almost caught her off guard with it, but her eyes had caught what Wyvern did with Leila, so the child knew what was coming! Thus instead of trying to prepare her own attack or dodge something too fast for her dodge? Frey focused her magical energy into her back, achieving her goal just in time. “Dragon Fist!” an attack that would devastate someone with the little power Frey had. “What?! Where Is She!?” however there was never any sound of impact, his attack dissolving down when it should have struck her, because there was no longer anything for him to strike. Her brown hoodie fell to the ground as if she had suddenly vanished into thin air, but that was nowhere near what had happened. Considering Wyvern was out, Leila was the only one inside the ring who would see why Master’s had been unable to strike Frey. The little girl had suddenly sprouted a ten foot ashen wingspan, her new appendages resembling those of a dragon, doing this allowed her to dodge the attack by taking to the air, and get behind her enemy at the same time. “Your nothing near a dragon.” the child seemed pissed for some odd reason, flapping her wings once which allowed her to send a powerful heavy kick into his back, knocking him to the ground, another set of melee damage being dealt when she than allowed her full weight to fall onto him, kicking him over and punching his face before she took to the air again. Considering he was more of a ground fighter? There was no way he could get to the air borne little girl. “Get up again and I’ll show you the true strength of a dragon.” and he did it, the male stood up, and she scowled, before grinning wide, the fight was over, something about her grin said that. “Earth Dragon’s Blast!” the child shouted it, spitting, but what she spit was a rock, that hit the man square in the forehead, knocking him out and leaving a little trail of blood down his face.

“I hope you don’t mind Leila, but I’m going to keep my wing’s active it takes magic to activate them, but they’ll maintain until I run out of magic without taking up anymore of it, so it’s easier to keep them active than to dispel them.” she landed beside the other mage, but did so on all fours, since she still had difficulty landing after she took off. Frey walked over to pick up her hoodie, placing it down beside her plushie, neatly folded so she could put it back on whenever she deactivated her wings. When she came back over to leila, the girl had a cookie in her hand again, wondering why she did not feel as if she was missing a significant amount of magical energy. Was this way Hemlock had told her to keep eating like this? If this was the reason she had to keep eating her new tasty earth cookies, the little girl could deal with that completely! It felt great to not feel any significant drain after both activating her wings and casting a spell. If the first set of the fight had gone down this easily, the little girl would be happy to see the rest of this, hoping to impress hemlock with her skills during this event. Of course it might be impossible considering she was going to be compared to how easily Leila had taken down her enemy! Still Frey thought she did good for her first real fight.

Post by Noheme 17th October 2016, 9:01 am

Before the battle began, Frey asked an interesting question. Why did she not have a sword? She never actually had any weapons at all, always making do with only her magic alone. In the past, she used to cast a spell that transformed her fingers into wooden claws… but those days were long gone, even though she was still capable of doing it with her free-forming. So she just looked at the little girl with a smile deciding to use this event to her advantage as she answered calmly.

“Rules say that we are not to use any armor or weapons. And I would not be knightly at all if I was to break those rules, right?”

Saying this, she also hoped to possibly inspire some sense of justice in this girl, nudging her towards not breaking any rules in the future. And as she took out her enemy rather easily and slightly alerted all the medics on the field with the power of her spells, she took a look behind her to see how Frey was actually faring in the first battle, hoping the child was not injured by the rather large man who faced her. Thankfully, that was not the case at all! Much like herself, the girl was able to grow wings out of her back, allowing for temporary flight. And with her opponent being a melee fighter, he simply stood no chance at all. Though her fighting style was a bit funny to her, it revealed one big fact, something quite important. Frey was a slayer… a dragon slayer that used earth. That actually explained a whole lot and the fact why she was here now, with no one watching her. The destructive force of slayers, it was something that you should never mess with. Even with Frey being a little child, her fighting style was already pretty aggressive as she returned the melee blows and then finished off the man with one of her spells.

“U..um, yeah… sure I don’t mind your wings. Just make sure to get out of the way when I manipulate these balls here, wouldn’t want to hit one of your wings on accident. Oh, actually...”

Frey’s question from before came to mind as Leila moved one of the glowing orbs into her hand and changed it’s form. It was quite nice that these things could transform into just about anything and this one ball looked like a black, shiny swords that glowed purple on it’s edges. It’s size was also adjusted for a child-like wielder. And just like that, she handed the weapon to her partner.

“I’m actually not very good with swords, so here! You can try to be a knight for a moment as well! Just be careful not to hurt yourself with it, okay~?”

She tried to keep her voice playful which was distracting her from thinking about the fact that she just handed a lethal tool to a little kid. In any case, it was time for another showdown. Now they would face someone named Detective Chun and Cam. These names were not getting any better it seemed. At least now they were facing two girls to mix it all up. Though Leila’s strategy was pretty similar to what she did before. Once the fight started, Chun instantly went for the Eden’s mage who defended against her powerful kick by forming four her balls into a shield that was hit instead of her. But that very shield also quickly returned back into it’s original state of four balls that quickly rammed into the girl, sending her flying back into a position where the remaining three were already waiting, formed into needless that then finished the poor girl off in one swift and hard fall onto her body.

“Yeah I suppose so.” she laughed it out when leila mentioned the rule, the reason she had left silver at home and dressed like this today. “You better keep being knightly and treating me like a princess!” now that the teen referred to herself as knightly, the little girl let Leila know exactly how she saw this, how she saw them. One of them was the precious princess and the other was the dashing knight, one gave orders and the other took them! Although today was not the day for giving orders and she was not quite old enough to be giving them out yet.

She had just been given a sword for the first time, this was such a rare event because  to put down a sharp object when she got her hands onto it! Frey looked at the black and somewhat shiny blade, smirking at it, tiny sharp teeth showing through this as she admired the blade, cutting the air with it once. Rune really liked the as holding, it felt right to have a sword, so natural and she had such ease moving the weapon around. Despite this being the first time she truly got her hands on a real sword, the little girl handled it well from when she had trained with the knight’s in her old village. “This is soo much better than a wooden one!” and it was lighter than those heavy wooden one’s, the six year old was clearly pleased, flapping her wings once to send herself forward and into the fight, consuming one of her cookies before doing so, liking their effect now that she knew consuming the earth made her stronger. It was something she’d have to experiment with later. Frey had been distracted by the sword and thus not seen Cam coming directly for her, aiming to jab into one of her pressure points to paralyze her. “Huh why did you poke me? This is a fight not a poking game” the little girl slashed the sword Leila gave her upwards and then quickly followed through by  thrusting it forward into the older woman’s shoulder. Safe to say? Two hits with the sword forged from the a rank, did the girl in, blood coming from her shoulder and her top torn to shreds. “What, you brought your pokey fingers to a real fight!” the little girl lowered her blade, looking wide eyed at the rage evident in the woman now on her knees because of her attacks. “How are you immune to my pressure point paralysis?!” the defeated finally spoke, seething through clenched teeth, speaking through the pain. “I’m immune to status effects except being frozen when their from someone around or below my power.” thus it would have never worked, electricity could not flow properly through her flesh since it was made of the earth.

“Next fight! We’re doing so good! Swords are awesome I’ll have to develop my own technique for forging one in battle!” the female spoke up, switching the hand she held the blade in by tossing it front right to left, cutting the air again and making a few jesting motions with it. Leila might have just made the cute little girl into a stab happy monster, simply by letting her wield a sharpened sword. Honestly the knight’s had feared it, that’s why they had trained her with wooden one’s hoping doing so would drive her away from the sharp object’s phrase. However now it was only clear they’d emboldened and enabled her. “And it’s alright that you're not good with swords! Apparently I was actually paying attention when the knight’s taught me to spar with wooden ones.” the little girl now explained how she had known to follow through back in the fight, looking once more at the glowing purple blade with a gentle smile showing her admiration of it. “Although I think I shouldn’t do the follow through again.” Cam had looked like she really got hurt from that shoulder impalement, even though the child had not intended to harm her that badly, only do what she had been taught. Forgetting the knight’s were the one’s who used deadly force to keep the village and it’s drake’s safe.

This girl really was something. In that spoiled way, she reminded Leila of Fleta quite a lot. Little girl that wanted all the attention in the world, acting all high and mighty while she was probably a bit softy inside. Or maybe she wasn't and this was her actual personality, she had no idea at this point in time. And the fact that Leila was now actually someone you could call a goddess made her statement even more comedic. Indeed, this divine being should just go ahead and bow down to some little girl that was trained by a dragon. Well, she did not mind playing this game a little bit more, so there was really no problem with it. And, well... maybe this girl really wasn't all that innocent as sweet from what she was doing with her newly acquired weapon. She was basically happily swinging around a solid form of dark magic that was the core of Gardens of Eden. Not exactly something you should handle this way at all... but it would be probably bad to be trying to take it back now that she was so happy with it, using it as she pleases. Well, at least she was able to swing it without harming herself, so that was good. Although the way she used it at her enemy... it did look pretty painful. Well, Leila's attacks looked really painful too, so it was probably fair to let it all be. They were victorious once more and the next round would be their last. Every single remaining team was placed on the battlefield and the last two standing would be victors of this whole tournament. A bit odd way of doing things... but sure! All they had to do was to beat like five or six people and all would be over. Actually, Leila got a pretty neat idea, trying out a new combo of spells she had just recently acquired into her arsenal. This would be something for the viewers for sure... a true show of power! Once she heard the sond of the final round starting, she turned towards Frey and shouted.

"Get to the edge of the arena where you left your doll and grab onto something! This will be something you'll remember for a while!"

With a confident smirk on her face, Leila took out a golden key and summoned her strongest spirit, Libra. At the same time, she placed both of her hands onto the ground and started forming several large roots that started breaking the hard rock apart, essentially creating a whole pit of rubble. As all the opponents stumbled about, the Eden's mage picked out the strongest one with her sensory and gave the nod to Libra who started turning her golden weights. She turned Vega into the core of gravity and all the ground started slowly moving towards him. But like this, it would not have the desired effect! Moving all seven of her available orbs, she rammed them into his stomach and sent him flying into the air. Now he was in the proper position! All the loose ground and roots started gravitating to him, slowly starting to form a giant orb of earth in the sky. Right now, she and Libra were basically creating a new moon with Vega as it'S core and all the other contestants buried somewhere among the material as well. Hopefully Frey was far enough to not become part of this giant ball in the sky as well. And in a minute or so, the thing was done! A new flying mini-planet that was at least 75 meters in diameter with all their opponents being slightly crushed inside. And at that moment, a wooden skull was already formed next to the silver haired maiden, gathering energy inside of it's mount.

"Look closely and admire... this is my super finale combo! My planetary shatterer!!"

As she finished the name, the skull opened it's jaws and the energy shot out in the form of a laser, going right through the newly formed object in the sky and once the laser reached it's core, the whole thing exploded in a rather flashy manner. Next few seconds was raining rubble and unconscious bodies of other contestants... Leila and Frey were definitely the only ones left standing at this point. They have won and the girl looked at her princess, showing a V with her fingers towards her with a big grin. She finally managed to win something...

Frey was very well aware of the fact she was amazing, a unique existence who would be difficult to replicate in any sort of way.  Even though she was often modest about it due to being a quiet girl by nature, part of Frey knew just how one of a kind she was. If anyone were to challenge her ego they would get a rude awakening to just how deeply that part of her ran, the darkness that lay within the little girl often hidden by the way she had been nurtured. It was in the girls very blood to be self centered and self serving, to care for little outside her own wants and desires, away from her own being. The lives of others only mattered to her due to how heavily the earth mates had pounded it into her head, now that she was not being told everyday that everyone was significant and she was not all that mattered, Frey was starting to slip back to what she had been born to be! She sliced that girl the way she did, because it felt good and her memories of the village still being so fresh, that was the only thing that made her regret it, stop short of doing the final strike and ending the life of the other. What need of there was mercy when no one else in the world would give it to those who had truly earned it? After-all Mashyuu had been taken from her mother and Kanix certainly did nothing to deserve that and she herself had been abandoned as an innocent infant. Playing to Karma was useless, it would never serve anyone except itself, so one was best serving themselves and their pleasures as well. The dark thoughts she had while holding the sword, being enabled to end the life of another being if she wanted to, they were ideals that had not leaked in for some time, and she did not know if she had missed them or not. Rune was unsure if she liked who she had been nurtured to be or who her nature told her to turn into.

She did know when listening to someone else was in her best interest thought, necessary for self preservation! Leila received no argument from the little girl who quickly flew over to the side of the ring, stabbing the sword into the wall to help herself hold on if this got stormy or something, clutching her doll and hoodie to her chest as she pushed her body against the stadium wall. The little girl, glanced behind her to watch that spell be cast, admiring it and watching how it was done, encase she could elements of it for her own spell in the future. Rune propped the doll so Hemlock could see the miraculous sight as well. Considering her young age she was alright with allowing the other mage to do this, take the final spot light for today, because the silver haired woman was acting the way the girl wanted her to. Being protected? Was a princess's rightful place, and she was a little princess after all, a precious angel to be worshipped. Leila had made a whole planet for her, for them, for their victory, and that was fine by Frey.

Once it was all done, the little girl flapped her wings soaring over to where her partner was in the ring, returning the V sign the older woman was giving to the ring back to her. “And their all down for the count!” the child turned the sword downwards before tilting it out to the side slightly, handing it towards Leila so the girl could take her orb back. “Now that we won, I need to go back to hemlock.” she seemed to regret this slightly as she spoke, handing the blade over, and draping her hoodie over the now freed arm, her doll held between both arms. “I’ll be seeing you again Knight In Shining Armor Leila.” she made the promise because she really liked the way this girl treated her, admired her for the knightly behavior and the strength she possessed, ability to protect. “And I’ll be looking forward to it, but as I said, Hemlock will be ticked if I keep him waiting and the last thing I want is to upset my mentor so soon after I started training, so bye-bye and see you soon!” Hemnlock was a dragon, he had to have ways he could help her find Leila again after this, besides someone powerful as that tended to be noticed, remembered, tracking her should not be hard. Once she was done speaking she opened her wings further and flew upwards, leaving the area and soaring back towards the portal that lead to the world fairytail now resided in.
